Hey, just wanted to ask, how bad Brandemburg is, really??? Like it's common knowledge there's nazis there, or it goes a bit more in-depth??? Your translations are literal lifesavers btw, thank you so much for your work!!!

Brandenburg and the other 3 states that used to make up the former GDR (or East Germany) have a... reputation, you can call it, i guess, of being full of nazis. it's especially bad in rural areas, the bigger cities are doing okay i think.

however, the afd (a far right wing party that has gained lots of popularity over the last few years - you might have spotted a few FCK AFD stickers scattered throughout the first druck seasons) has about a fourth of the seats in Brandenburg's parliament, 2 seats less than the socialist-democratic party which has the most votes. the afd... well, they're pretty bad. here an excerpt from their wikipedia page, i think this speaks for itself:

as someone who lives in the southwest of germany, so basically on the exact opposite side of brandenburg, the fact that there are a lot of nazis is pretty known. the problem of right-wing extremetism rising is a big problem in all of germany, but it's extremely common in the former GDR states. i remember when they had the elections in Brandenburg and Sachsen last year and the results were really shocking. the fact that more than 20% voters voted for a party like the afd is so disturbing and i still can't wrap my head around it.

so basically yeah brandenburg is really that bad
