I’d like to read at least a few truly bad books — not just “eh, it didn’t grab me,” but books that strike you as fundamentally flawed or that you ACTIVELY dislike.

(Preferably these books would be bad in some more interesting way than ‘rampant unexamined bigotry,’ but given what I’m asking here I can’t be too picky. There are always used bookstores. xD)

Anyone have any anti-recommendations along these lines?

Gabriel x Reader One Shot

Note: Gif not mine. Credit to the original creator/ owner which I believe is @astralgabriel but I may be incorrect. Kinda AU, established Gabriel x Reader romantic relationship. Established Reader x Winchester friendship. Set in season 13. Cannon level violence. Word count is at roughly 2140.

Y/N had known the Winchesters for a couple of years now and through them she had been introduce to Gabriel. The pair had hit it off from the start and were now inseparable. Y/N before joining the Winchesters had studied theology which seemingly gave her an edge on dealing with some of the things the hunter’s life had to deal with and gave her and Gabriel something to talk about and bond over in a sense. She would always take down meticulous notes anytime Gabriel would finally open up about his family or his time in heaven.

Gabriel found some joy in talking with Y/N about the past. This was something that never happened with him before, He was at ease around her and he noted to himself that for him wasn’t a usual thing for him ever. This feeling of easiness and comfort was enjoyable to him which helped him decide that hanging around the bunker wasn’t such a terrible idea. Staying would in turn move his relationship with Y/N along, which was something he truly desired for the first time since he was with Kali and would give him a chance to get to know his nephew, by Lucifer, Jack. Something he thought was a nifty bonus.

Y/N was in the bunker’s library reading something to help the Winchester brothers find a way to reopen the portal to the ‘Apocalypse World’ so that they could save their mom. She was trying to find even hint of an idea of how to help. As she was sitting with her back to the rest of the bunker sort of in her own little world, Gabe decided to check on her and in return he startled her and luckily was able to catch the flying book that was previously in her hands.

Gabe sheepishly chuckled, “Sorry Sweetheart, I didn’t mean to scare ya.” He lowered himself just enough to wrap his arms around Y/N’s shoulders as she sat in the chair trying to calm her racing heartrate. “Since we have the place to ourselves, I thought maybe me and my Special Girl could maybe get some alone time together, what do ya say Babes?”  He waggled his eyebrows as he spoke but frowned when he saw her shake her head no.

She sighed as she shook her head in response to his offer. She knew that frustrated him to no end and she felt terrible about it. For a few weeks now that had been the same answer to his same question. She was focused on the task that was given to her and she would slave over the lore books to the point of exhaustion. She would stumble to their shared room nap for a few hours and do it all over again. She knew it was worrying Gabe, but she also knew it had to be done. The longer it took to find answers the more of a chance that they weren’t going to find Mary alive and well. “I’m sorry Gabe but if I don’t do this research who will? We still need answers and the boys are off in a hunt…”

Gabe stopped her before she could continue annoyed and slightly angered. He was really feeling rejected by her in that aspect lately and had finally had enough. He did his best to reign in as much of his anger at the situation as he could but some of it seeped through into his words and his tone. “I don’t know, maybe the two whose mother is trapped over there?! They are using you as their research bitch, Y/N! Can’t you see that?” His whiskey colored eyes blazed with all his pent-up emotion. “Or are you using their research as an excuse because you don’t want me anymore?” He almost whispered, the thought of the woman that he was so in love with had possible fallen out of love with him crushed him to the core.

Seeing the pain in his eyes broke her heart. “Gabe. That is so far from the truth and you should know that. Hell, you are basically all I think about. All you ever need to do is read my mind if you feel any doubt about my feelings for you.” She stood and placed her forehead to his and focused all her energy on making him feel her love she held for him. She wanted it to wrap around him like his wings would often wrap around her in the times she needed comforted. “I know we have been up to our necks in it lately and I’m sorry I’ve been neglecting you, but Gabe, I am to the point that I feel guilty for needing sleep because it takes time away from possibly finding what we need to get her home. I’m sorry…” Her voice cracked at her last two words and she walked away from the archangel, leaving him essentially speechless.

He watched as Y/N stormed off toward their room and jumped slightly as he heard the door slam shut. “Okay, how is this my fault?!” He exclaimed, as he stomped back to their room to try and talk to her. “C’mon, Sugar. Talk to me.” He spoke as he opened the door expecting to see her curled up on their bed but instead, he saw her quickly packing her go bag. He frowned deeply. “You’re leaving…” It was meant as a question but came out as more of a statement almost feeling rejected again.

Looking up from what she was doing she shook her head no once again. “No, Feathers. We are leaving. Sam called they need our help. Dean got hurt and is on the shelf. He needs a couple extra sets of hands. Hunters work is never finished, Handsome.” She frowned seemingly a little disappointed. As she walked by him, she put her hand on his forearm. “Looks like Willy Wonka and cuddling will have to wait, again.”

Gabriel was pleasantly surprised at her words and thought, ‘Hey at least she was considering more than just napping in here for three hours and running back to that Dad damn library again.’ He smiled and followed Y/N out to her car. “Alright. Let’s go gank this sucker so we can get back here and get our snuggle on.”

The two drove the few hours to meet up with Sam and the injured Dean and listened to Sam filled them in on what happened and what they were hunting. Seems they underestimated a nest of vampires and one of them had gotten the drop on Dean which resulted in a concussion and him having to sit the rest of the hunt out. So, they sat and planed it all out and waiting for night to come.

As it started getting dark Y/N, Sam, and Gabriel piled into the Impala and headed toward the nest’s location Y/N and Gabriel were in the back seat together leaving Sam in the front by himself to drive. Gabriel insisted that she sat with him. They held onto each other’s hands the entire drive there. He knew Y/N still had some doubts about her hunting abilities and was doing his best to help her psych herself up for the battle that lay ahead of the three of them.

Sam put the impala in park and cleared his throat to let the two know they were there. Y/N got out of the back seat first and met Sam at the trunk where he handed her a machete and made sure she was ready for the coming battle. With a nod and a glance over her shoulder to make sure Gabriel was right behind her they made their way into the nest and started fighting.

Sam had managed to kill two vampires so far and Y/N managed to get one but was tussling with another that happened to be three times the size of her.  Sam went to help her when one jumped on his back and Gabriel was fighting another vampire leaving Y/N to fend off the large vampire by herself. She was losing the fight. The Vampire had managed to get several solid hits in on her and knocking her machete out of her grasp. The vampire that was fighting her pinned her to the wall with one hand forcing a terrified squeak out of her throat and picking up the blade in his other hand. Gabriel looked up in time to watch the monster shove the machete into Y/N’s abdomen. He saw her eyes go wide from the shock of being run through with her own blade.

Gabriel smites the vampire he was fighting and yells to Sam, who had just finished beheading the vampire that he was fighting with. Sam yells “No!” Gabriel snaps his fingers and the vampire that stabbed Y/N disintegrates on the spot. Before Sam knows it, Gabe is next to Y/N cradling her trying to heal her, but it wasn’t working for some reason which was only adding to Gabriel’s panic.

“No no no no… You gotta stay with me, Love. Please don’t leave me, Sugar.” There were tears in his voice as he kept trying to heal Y/N but to no avail. He couldn’t figure out why, he had never not been able to heal her before. He sent up a silent prayer to his father asking him for help, but he knew it was all for naught. As he cradled his dying love to him, he did his best to contain his emotions, but his eyes were betraying him. He started murmuring to her softly in Enochian because he knew it would bring her comfort.

Y/N whimpered softly against him fighting back a cough, “Gabe. It’s okay. It’ll be okay.” She had to pause to take a few ragged breaths before continuing, “Gabriel, I need to tell you this before…”

Y/N had to pause again but this time Gabriel tried to shush her, “Baby save your strength, okay? You don’t need to tell me anything. I’m going to get you beck to the motel room and we are going to get you patched up and everything is going to be just peaches and cream.” He looked to Sam and nodded silently telling him that he would see him back at the motel and disappeared whit Y/N.

Gabriel arrived with a dying Y/N in his arms about the same time Sam got back to the motel. Sam somehow made land speed records to be there. Dean jumped up despite the concussion. Gabe laid Y/N down on the bed that wasn’t occupied though he stayed close to her. He tried in vain to heal her would again. Though he knew deep down it wasn’t going to work.

As Sam started to explain to his brother what transpired, Gabriel felt Y/n weakly clutch his hand to get his attention. She knew her time was drawing close and she could see the reaper in the corner of the room waiting for her. She mustered her last bit of energy to speak to Gabriel.

“Gabriel…” She gasped for air, “You need to hear this.” She paused again feeling weaker and weaker by the second. “I love you, Feathers.” As she forced the words out, she heard the Reaper speak in a gentle voice to her telling her it was her time to go. Y/N reluctantly went with the Reaper that had come to collect her, as she crossed to the other side her body went limp in Gabriel’s arms.

Gabriel felt her leave him and let out a pained scream the likes of which the Winchesters never heard. Sam and Dean simply watched as the archangel before them mourn the loss of his love in awe. Gabriel wept openly over the loss of Y/N as he held her now lifeless body to him.

Sam and Dean let him have an hour with Y/N’s body before they suggested moving on with the process of her passing and getting her Hunter’s Funeral in the works.  Which Gabriel didn’t react positively to, but they knew that was going to be the case. It took them some time to talk Gabe into going through the proper motions, but it was done and it about broke Gabriel to say goodbye to her in that final way. Sam told Gabe that they had found a spell to open the portal to get their mom back. Gabe gave them a bitter laugh but said he was in. He figured that would be an easy way out of his pain that wouldn’t offend his father. He was going with the boys to Apocalypse World with no plan in coming back…

December 10: Endings

The posts that have been going around about all these bad, nonsensical, random tv endings we’ve been seeing recently (GOT, T100, SPN), have made me think about what makes a good television ending in my opinion.

I admit that concluding a series is probably quite tricky because most shows, if they’re not miniseries, are conceived without a known end point in mind. A show runner can build an idea around a 5-season arc, but he might not actually get 5 seasons. He might only get 1. Or he might get 10, if the show is popular. So unlike a movie or a novel, the first episodes need to set up a general premise, a universe, a theme, but not necessarily a specific plot with X number of specific plot points leading to a pre-ordained conclusion. There has to be a flexibility to the narrative. But when the whole thing is completed, it should feel, ideally, as if it WAS pre-ordained, as if the show was always meant to have as many seasons as it got and was working toward its conclusion the whole time.

So, roughly, I think shows that stick the landing do so because the showrunner knows what the show is, at its core, about, and crafts a finale that relates to the central theme(s) and brings the main narrative to a logical and emotionally resonant conclusion. 

This is very rough and very general, and it’s a formula that applies more to some shows than others. TV is incredibly varied after all. I mean, first off, not all shows know their last season is their last season going in. You can’t judge the final episodes of, to use two examples of shows I liked that were unceremoniously axed recently, The Society or Altered Carbon as “finale episodes” because they were never meant to be finales. Then you have a show like My So-Called Life, which does have a Classic ending, despite ending all too soon--mostly because every episode of that show was classic, and it only had one season, so its season finale being a fitting ending to the season automatically means its series finale was a fitting ending to the series.

(It’s such an outlier that I can’t really compare it to anything but honestly--this is how to do an open-ended cliffhanger and still make it feel like a conclusion. But that’s a whole different post.)

My formula above also doesn’t apply well to sitcoms, because they aren’t really about anything, in terms of plot. Like the name says, they set up situations: a group of people who are family, co-workers, friends, and then lets those situations play out in a funny manner for as long as there are jokes to tell. Sitcoms to me end well if they don’t overstay their welcome, if they remain true to the characters (because it’s the characters, not the minimal narrative, that defines the show), and if they hit an appropriate ‘ending’ tone. But the biggest thing for me is if the sitcom went on for too many seasons. Even if the final episode isn’t the greatest, it’s fine. But if the last 2-4 seasons were lackluster, it tarnishes the whole legacy.

‘Procedural’ type shows are yet another category, and I’m not entirely sure how to characterize those, or what makes a strong ending for that sub-genre. I’m using ‘procedural’ broadly to include, like, Bad Guy of the Week type shows--for example, Charmed, which I thought should have ended after S7. Again, I think it’s about not letting the whole thing go on too long, and then staying true to characters and tone in the finale itself.

So looking just at dramas that have a season’s warning before their finale--which, really, are the type of shows that are most likely to make people ANGRY with shitty endings, because they lure the viewer in with the idea that a singular, coherent story is being told. Maybe it’s convoluted. Maybe it’s winding. Maybe it’s hard to tell where they’re going with this. But if it all comes together in the end, none of that matters--and if it doesn’t come together, what was the point of all the seasons that came before? It becomes, retroactively, a betrayal.

The more plot-driven the show (if it has a mystery, a conspiracy theory, a quest), the greater the betrayal if all fizzles out. But I think the same feeling can arise from shoddy conclusions in dramas more generally. The L Word is one of my comfort shows but that last season is a MESS all the way down, the finale especially. There definitely wasn’t a point to anything, and it wasn’t even entertaining as, like, a dramatic soap.

But then I think about shows whose endings I really liked. For example, Six Feet Under had a great final season and one of the best finale episodes/ending sequences ever. The show up to that point had been about death, and that theme had always been centered most particularly on Nate: his fears of the family business, his previous brushes with death because of his AVM, etc. So of course the show had to end by killing one of its mains, coming full circle with the pilot, showing real grief hitting home--and of course Nate’s personal journey as the main character had to end with his death. Everything about the conclusion was fitting, not even counting the final montage.

I also really liked the conclusion of Big Love, for similar reasons: it was thoughtful, and it successfully teased out the main strands, both of plot and theme, that had run through the show up to that point. The most important thing had always been depicting this family, their problems but also their strength and their love for each other--so, as the showrunners said, it had to conclude by showing you that the family survives. They are strong, and their bonds endure. But the ending was, and had to be, bittersweet too, because anything less would seem to sweep under the rug the real tragedies of the last seasons. Not everyone gets happy endings. And the unhappy endings relate specifically to the toxic patriarchy that’s haunted all of the characters from the pilot. Alby has a chance to turn away from his father and the compound life--but the forces arrayed against him were too strong, so there was no deus ex machina for him, and he ultimately just became fully the evil villain. And Bill is taken out not by the state or by the compound but by an aggrieved man who feels he’s been emasculated, forgotten, who is raging against being so Unseen. What a way to make clear what the common denominator in all of the threats of the past 5 seasons has been.

I also give major points to shows whose finales feel like they’re trying, even if they’re imperfect, especially if the imperfections are because of factors outside the showrunner’s control. For example, I saw someone list Dollhouse as one of their ‘worst endings’ but I have to disagree. I like the ending of Dollhouse. It wasn’t supposed to be 2 seasons. That’s well known. But that’s how many seasons it got, and I think honestly they turned that into a plus rather than a minus. Dollhouse was its best when it was rushing to a conclusion, when it was fast-paced and exciting. Did it always make complete sense? No. Were there some pretty big holes in the plot? Yeah--S2′s Big Bad was absolutely and transparently a retcon instituted between S1 and S2 and I get that, and I forgive the show for that. I thought bifurcating the epilogue as two extra episodes after each of the two seasons was genius, and I liked that it allowed the show to have its cake and eat it too: a happy ending, with the main, immediate, singular Big Bad eliminated, at the end of S2, and a more bittersweet, more complicated, post-apoc ending in the bonus episode. Yeah, I can see the seams; I know there were a lot of constructed work arounds in there because the show was intended to be longer. I think the ending was presented in good faith.

I also, perhaps controversially, liked the ending of Veronica Mars (the original 3-season show; I didn’t see the reboot). The way the season aired was weird and didn’t do it any favors: having a long break before the last couple of episodes, which existed outside of the two Big Case arcs of S3, makes those final stories feel tacked on and random. Basically impossible to have a strong finish with that kind of structure. But the very end of the last ep had the bitter, dark feel of a noir, which is what the show was, a mash up of a noir and a high school drama. I liked that they leaned on the noir rather than the high school aspect, because it was the more creative way to go imo. Also, I appreciated that S3, in general, learned from S2′s mistakes. Yes, the college years are always going to be lackluster compared to high school, in any series that starts with its characters in high school. But VM recognized that no overarching mystery was going to compare to the Lilly Kane murder, so it split the Big Mystery into two Medium Sized mysteries, and I thought that was smart. All of which makes me inclined to think fondly of the conclusion. As with Dollhouse, its weakest points seem to be compromises it had to make, not really its fault but just an inevitable imperfection of the form.

It’s pretty easy to list aspects of a bad ending: a sense that events are arbitrary, a disrespect of characters, a rushed construction, a jarring tone, and most importantly a disconnect between the finale and what came before. If the show appeared to be a narrative (as opposed to a situation), but it doesn’t feel like a complete and coherent whole at the end, then the conclusion was bad.

I didn’t watch GOT or SPN and I stopped watching T100 at the end of S4 (though I do feel confident from tumblr that the ending was Bad), so I have somewhat of a hard time thinking of shows that I thought had really bad endings. I can think of dissatisfying endings that came from shows being cancelled without warning. I can think of shows that lasted too long in general or otherwise had fallen from their greatest heights by the time they limped to a conclusion (unpopular opinion: Friends fits in this category--that show should have been 4 seasons, maybe 5 tops; Boy Meets World and Dawson’s Creek are comfort show favorites of mine but they both should have ended with high school, like, pretty objectively speaking; iZombie started a slow downturn after S2 and by the end of S4 was kinda unwatchable. I literally stopped halfway through the finale.). I can even think of shows that lost me by the end even though objectively they probably had good endings (for example, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend--I couldn’t get through S4 and the finale sounded... technically well-constructed but like it would have driven me nuts).

But then I guess most shows with shitty finales technically had shitty last seasons in general. Truly notorious crash-and-burns don’t come out of nowhere. I mean I’m sure there are counter-examples to this (what’s that one with the kid and the snow globe lol?) but unless you try for a weird last-minute twist, or unless you’ve got your audience hoping against hope that an impossibly twisty story is actually very smart instead of very ill-planned, it’s generally clear before the last episode if a narrative has lost its way. I don’t tend to watch a lot of ‘twisty-turny conspiracy’ shows, and when I do I am supremely skeptical all the way through, so it’s hard for me to think of examples I’ve personally watched of a last minute “what the fuck was that” conclusion.

Those thoughts have been happening again, the ones about her just letting loose for a day or two and blimping up like crazy. So much so that she’s been sleep baking, subconsciously creating a surplus for her to snack on when she takes a short holiday and closes up shop.

This has been going on for a few weeks now, requiring her to go out and purchase more ingredients and store her creations in a small stasis zone she has. It takes energy from her every day, but it’s worth it when one needs to stockpile or delay an order and keep them fresh. Time magic could be tricky sometimes and a little draining, so it explained her need for the extra coffee in the morning.

At last, the day came when she could release that stasis, close up shop for a little vacation. Of course, it’s a stay in sort of vacation, with the blinds drawn and the door locked, but either way, it’s been a building need for a good bit of time that’s now going to be indulged. The first time she was teased on being a behemoth blubberbutt... she’s found herself somewhat addicted to it. She’s still refusing to stick to it in her day to day, and would still struggle to do so thanks to her powers, but these bursts of enjoyment... she’s really loving them. Today was the day she’d surpass her usually set limit when experimenting. That hard limit was set before so she wouldn’t overdo it, but she had the confidence that she could slim back down with a combination of a few things. From her creations meant to help slim her down, to burning some through use along with a telekinetic spell to be able to funnel the treats in when she became much too large to reach with her bulked up arms.. she was ready. It also helped that she sent in all of the chairs and tables in for cleaning and repairs, leaving the bulk of the front completely open outside of a few things she purchased specifically for this.

Clad in something rather small, she also planned ahead with several articles of clothing to shear through as time went on. Of course, she only went up to around her size that she stopped herself at, so once she surpassed that, she’d be out of luck, but that was fine. Taking her first bite into an eclair, there was a pleasured groan that flew freely in the privacy of her bakery. “Mmh... I know it’s going to sound bad... but I’ve really made one heck of a pastry~” There’s a lot of pride in her tone. She’s improved herself quite a bit since she was a child, and that’s something she’ll always be doing if she can help it. Once the bite settled into her stomach, a loud *GGRRRRRRGGGLLLLLLL* echoed, signalling the hunger tuning up from her enchantment. Cramming the rest of the treat down her gullet, it would soon be chased down with some of her other creations outside of her sweets department. Sure, that’s her specialty, but it’d be good to try her whole menu of pastas, meats, and veggie dishes to see how they compare. That’s where she knows she has a lot of work to do to compare to some of the chefs she’s met, but that’s not going to get her down. It’s all about indulging to the fullest, slurping down noodles and gobbling down like a starved carnivore, not paying any mind to the splattering that’s going to be happening on her face and shirt. It’s even less cared about on the shirt because it was meant to be torn! Speaking of which, as she’s cramming everything down her gullet so hastily and desperately, it won’t take too long for a food baby to start appearing on her middle, making that already tight top start to rise. That breeze around her tightening flesh was cause to moan, the cool air tickling as she grunted and downed a large bowl of homemade ramen, the broth trickling down her chin. The secondary effect of the initial eclair soon started to kick in, taking the mounting fullness and spreading it across her figure. Those tight leggings she chose to start with already tearing as her thighs thickened, wobbling as pure blubber billowed out. Her broth covered chin found a twin in a matter of moments and it too bathed in the hearty liquid. The bowl being clunked down there came a HWOOOORRRRRPPPP from the glutting girl. A grin came to her face as she delivered a meaty slap to her gut, letting it jiggle from the impact, but rang surprisingly hollow in spite of all that she’s consumed thus far. “And to think... this is only the start... I’m going to end up so heavy~” That telling blush, the lust apparent in her voice as she resumed her feasting, yet to resort to magic to fill herself. That would come in the second course... which if she were being honest, the rest of the courses after this would be filled with next to nothing but sweets. It’s a good thing she’s got a fairly good sweet tooth!

Round one came to a close after nearly an hour, and a solid thirty pounds found their way to her formerly lithe figure. The small clothes she picked out were tattered at best, the leggings completely shorn through by her butt and thighs alone. Standing up from her seat, she had to admire her gain thus far. “And that was the easy round. An appetizer for the hundreds each one after this is going to add! I’m still under two hundred right now... but I’m thinking I should go ahead and put my three hundred set on and grow into them, then out of them!” Grunting in effort from having to pull off the vestiges of her top, she lets her bosom flop out, still not as grand as some people she knew, but they happened to take some hit bumping her up a cup size or so. Once again, it’s not a concern, she knows she’s a bottom heavy gal and that butt of hers is looking rather nice already. Flipping through the pile of clothing, she pulls out a rather large bathing suit and blushes. “Summertime whale... here I come.” She can’t even believe she said that, let alone bought this sky blue bikini meant for a woman thrice her size! Or... maybe roughly double her size now. “And summer means pie... and ice cream, of course~” Pulling it on as best she can, she has to hold it up before she sat back down, a second eclair in hand while the aforementioned next set danced towards her. Perhaps that bikini top will take a while longer to fit than the bottoms, but they’ll both be too tiny before too long~

The second of the batch was devoured, a few seconds tick by before her gut grumbling symbolized the bell being rung for round two. Off she went, her hands cramming slice after slice of pie into her mouth, all of them enchanted with her fattening in mind while the ice cream was melted enough for her to chug, the magic hands she conjured floating the containers to her mouth for her to guzzle by the gallon full between each pie. The cacophony of flavour ravaged her tongue and sent her through a tizzy of tastes. Her bloating butt steadily took more room in her chair, slowly filling the confines of the bottoms she picked up. On occasion, a magic hand helps to adjust the articles for the sake of comfort as she slowly filled them with her blubber. There was no hiding just how elated she felt, squeals of delight flooded the room along with her chomping and gulping. It felt so damnably good to feel herself fatten up like she had given so many others in the past. If she were to choose, she’d still side with giving others the blubber, and that’s not something that would likely ever change, but days like this... hoo boy~ Her eyes flicked over to a separate chair once the one she was situated in started to creak and brought over the second to help bear the burden of her bulk. They’d both end in splinters, but let them last for a little longer...

A couple hours passed, pie crumbs and filling strewn about her face, coating her chubby cheeks and trio of chins, fusing with the sticky ice cream that coated it as well. The bikini top fit perfectly now, good thing she opted for the expanded band but smaller cups option. The bottoms, on the other hand, dug deep into her hip flesh, riding up into her bottom cheeks somewhat. The gurglings of digestion could be heard from her middle, the magic having worn off and left her in a somewhat filled state. Seems she didn’t consume fast enough to fit everything within that window and had to press on without the added buff. Still, with the hiccups and belches, Claire is grinning like a mad woman as she takes in her bloated figure. A guess would put her at just a little over three hundred pounds and well over halfway to her usual stopping point. Hands knead the folds of her belly like dough, sensual moans now fill the room as she takes a moment to appreciate all of this. It takes a considerable amount of effort to heave up from her bending chairs, clearly she sprung for shoddy ones to start with. Over to a mirror she had set, it gives her a clear view of her ample ass. Staring at it, stars filled her eyes as she gave it a resounding smack. “Look at what you did to yourself, you pig...~” She has it bad for this.

“Ooh... okay... it��s time for the doughnuts. Then the cupcakes and muffins... which should get me over five hundred, and finishing off with a cake.” That towering cake was teasing her. Every layer a different flavour and bonus enchantment, with the bottom of it ready to really pack on the flab. Staring at it, she felt entranced, her tongue lapping over her stained lips. “It looks so tempting... But it’s meant for the finale.” Snapping herself out of it, her hand moved without her thinking to cram in the third and fourth eclair, mixing in the two rounds so she could reach that decadent dessert faster. The resulting hunger hit like a freight train, forgetting to try to place her next article of clothing that would bridge her to the big five hundred and instead leaning on the table and funneling everything else on there into her greedy maw as swift as she can, her magic in force to aid it. Every bite led to an impact on her figure, those bottoms not lasting long in this assault as fat was oozing onto her hips and buns at an astounding rate, her love handles spilling over the edge of the table and her wobbly thighs jiggling as she moved her lard filled legs in excitement. Her hammy arms had a jiggle problem of their own. There’s nothing but pure gluttonous bliss from the expanding baker, the creaking of the furnishing beneath her only pushing her over that edge further. The only thing missing was kneading her own mass while she ate, but she was much too busy in filling herself that she’d be unable to manage that at the moment. That, and the teasing... but once again, she couldn’t let that stop her. Dozens upon dozens of doughy pastries added themselves to her form, the flavour still being appreciated, but the results are where she’s really getting her love at the moment. The table’s legs on the half she was leaning on snapped, but that only made things easier as she let gravity assist in pulling things towards her maw, her magic helping to grind it down and funnel it in further. It was hardly an expenditure with how much fuel is falling into her right now. To make it complete, as soon as the last morsel found its way home, Claire pulled herself up the table and forced the other half’s legs to give up, just as her swimwear did a very long while ago. Now, here she was, sweating and panting like crazy, left with nothing on as her wide body swelled just a bit further with what she’s eaten. Her hands are quick to start roaming, groping and squeezing, shaking and appreciating what has piled on. “I’m... so... faaaaaaat~ Is... is this how everyone I help feed feels?” Yeah, this was definitely a good idea. Unfortunately, she’s starting to feel rather tired, and while that cake is calling her name... maybe she should save it for tomorrow and just revel in what she has now. After all, she has a week off! With her arcane hands moving it to a small container, it would be placed in a tiny stasis field, only burning through a tiny bit of her lard to do so. “Hahhhhh.... that’s going to taste great... and make me feel even better~”

Summary: You don’t know what it is, but seeing him breathe makes you want to punch him in the throat.

yall this update was originally like 5k words long or something like that so i split it into two chapters so its easier to keep track. im sorry for making yall wait so long i swear ive been working on it i just like had no motivation until last night to finish this.

WARNINGS: remember when i said i wasn’t gonna warn anymore and to take note of the previous warnings? yep.

It was 11:36 PM.

You awaited for the right moment, the perfect opportunity to execute your plan. There was no second chances, not even a plan B. This needed to go how you expected it to or it wouldn't work at all. So you waited.

11:38 PM.

You watched it fall in place, the pieces of a puzzle you already solved. You watched as Bruce left his lab for the night. He sent you a quick goodnight before going his way. He was the last to be in the common areas of the Tower, a few members were still awake in their respective rooms. But with Bruce now gone, you were able to exit the building without notice.

11:43 PM.

You walked into Peter's room, expecting him to be ready for the mission. He was asleep.

You grabbed his suit off the floor and slapped it against his bare back, he woke up with a scramble.

“Get up! We are going right now!”

Peter was groggy, visibly confused about the situation. But with sleepy eyes and tousled hair, he put his suit on. You waited in the same chair Bucky was sitting in this morning, the knife marks still etched as a chilling reminder to not get on his bad side. You were running your finger over the marks, feeling the indents when you heard Peter's suit shrink into place.

You looked up at him, finding he was without his mask. He looked over the floor with half lidded eyes, a trail of dried drool still on his cheek. His hair was an absolute mess, maybe the mask wouldn't be able to hold it down.

“There we go...” Peter bent down to reach under his bed. You watched as he stretched a hand, mindlessly reaching for his mask. But he grabbed it in no time, walking up to you while putting on the final piece of his suit.

“Bruce just left the lab, so we can go out the window now.” You spoke, already walking towards the glass pane separating you from the outside.

“The window? We can't just take the elevator?” Peter questioned.

You unlatched the lock, pushing open the thin piece of glass to the outside. You leaned forward, staring at the concrete street 12 floors below you. It wasn't the highest point, but it most definitely will do a lot more than tickle if you fell at this height.

“The cameras would catch us, my dad would be alerted. Since Bruce left to his room, we can go past the floor below us without him spotting us through the windows.”

You tugged at your sleeves, hoping they would fight off the bitter breeze that flowed through the window. It bit at your cheeks, causing a quick shiver to run along your body. You should have brought more layers.

“Okay, well hold tight then.”

You were leaning out the window when he spoke. You furrowed your brows, turning quickly once realization hit.

“Wait—what?”

Peter swooped you up with one arm, your body pressed tight against his while he climbed out the window

“WAIT, WAIT! I WASN'T READY—PETER!” You shouted before Peter took a dive out the window.

The air was sucked out of your lungs while you clung your arms around Peter's neck. You were rocketing towards the ground at a rate that you didn't think was possible, you felt your soul leave your body and trail back up to the room to watch its body splat on the sidewalk. Maybe your dad won't find out.

“Hang on!” Peter shouted over the rush of air, using his currently free hand to push under your thigh. He kept tugging until you finally got the idea, wrapping your legs around him like a baby koala.

It was in that instant, when you found a tight grip on him did you hear his webshooters go off. It tugged the both of you roughly into the opposite direction, had you not held so tightly you might have gotten a nasty hit of whiplash. It also helped that Peter held you securely in his arm, preventing you from even getting a wiggle out.

You clung to dear life, not for a second opening your eyes as you felt your body move through the air. Your ears popped, letting a rush of sound to flood in before you both took another dip towards the ground.

You had stopped screaming by now, nearly numb from the velocity and the rush of blood. Your muscles were locked in place, wrapping around Peter in hopes that you could melt into him for safety. He didn't seem to mind, at least he didn't make it obvious. So he continued swinging between buildings, not exactly sure where he was going but he was enjoying the trip while he still could.

12:04 AM.

Peter eventually let you down in an alley. Well, he intended to let you down.

“Hey, we're on solid ground.” You continued to hold on, face buried into his neck and eyes screwed shut. “...That means you can let go now.”

“No.” You uttered.

You held on, despite both of Peter's arms hanging by his side. You stayed snugged against him, your bottom slowly sliding down with the lack of support. You kept trying to adjust your grip, even wiggle your hips to get a better lock around Peter's waist. Nothing worked, and eventually your own strength failed you. You began to drop, but Peter managed to hold you up before then.

“C'mon, we dont have a lot of time. And I want to sleep.” Peter let go of you, making sure you could hold yourself up after that trip.

You let out a groan of frustration, staying close behind him before he would let you go do your 'mission'.

“Okay, so I'm thinking I'd check out the donut place and then just walk down the street a bit. I'll try and stall so maybe we can bait this guy out.” You poked your head out from behind Peter, checking your surroundings before stepping out yourself. You wobbled a bit, still trying to get used to solid ground. You hoped Peter hadn't noticed. He did.

“Got it, ma'am! I'll be on the rooftops!” Peter already began climbing up the side of a building when you called back to him.

“Call me 'ma'am' again and I'll shave your head in your sleep.”

“Roger that, ma'am.”

You threw your shoe at him, smacking him in the head before it fell back down to you. He continued crawling, giving his head a gentle rub. You hoped it hurt.

You slipped your shoe back on, now ready to walk the New York streets in an effort to catch whoever is behind the hack. Peter was to catch them, web them up and you would call your dad and Steve to take care of the rest. You thought it was a sound plan, something to prove to your father that you can be a valuable member of the team. Maybe even after this he would consider making you an avenger.

12:33 AM.

You walked down an empty street. Street lamps flickered above, giving a more lifeless feel to the empty sidewalk. Cars would drive by, the ones with tinted black windows made you weary. But they would drive away quickly, giving you a chance to breath again. This went on for some time while you walked. You took the long way to the donut shop, trying to extend your trip for as long as possible.

The old shop was a 24/7 vendor. You walked up to a window, someone sitting inside quickly got up to greet you.

“How may I help you?” The kind lady asked, her accent heavy with each word. You shifted on your feet, pouting your lips while staring up at the chalkboard menu behind her.

“May I have a half dozen box? Three glazed and the other three chocolate, please.” You responded to her in Spanish, hoping that it would be more comfortable in her own language. She gave you a wide smile as you spoke. The winkles in her warm features deepen as she watched you speak, even her eyes brightened with the sound of her mother tongue.

“Of course, honey. Would you like a drink too? It's cold out, my love. I could warm up a hot chocolate for you.” She asked.

Your own eyes lit up at the thought, you quickly nodded your head before speaking, “Yes! I would love that, thank you so much!”

She quickly packed a box with your donuts before sneaking away to grab a new mix of hot chocolate. You sat at a bench in front of the window and waited while she prepared your drink. The more you thought of it, the more you realized that she was right. It was practically freezing out, a hot chocolate would cure any shivers just by the mere thought.

And a box of donuts for you and Peter was a bonus, the late night snack should help you both stay alert for the rest of the mission.

The woman returned to the window, box and paper cup in hand. You gave her the money for both, but she tried waving off the extra amount for the hot chocolate.

You wouldn't take no for an answer, so you gave her the money for the hot chocolate and a generous tip. You left it in a clear box in the front, giving her a toothy smile and thanking her sincerely. She thanked you for coming, telling you to go home and warm up.

But you simply smiled at her, assuring you would. Choosing to simply lie rather than admit you weren't going home seemed simpler, it gave the kind woman a chance to soon forget you. You were another customer, a polite girl who made a quick stop for donuts and hot chocolate, nothing more.

You continued walking down the street, turning around random corners in hopes of luring someone out. You ate away at the donuts while taking tentative sips at the warm beverage, you didn't want to burn your tongue.

But soon, you became full, your drink felt cold. You were wandering aimlessly for some time, the box in your hand becoming an annoyance. So you sat down at a bus stop bench, pulling out your StarkPhone and quickly finding Peter's contact.

DIALING: LITTLE SHIT

The phone rang just twice before Peter picked up.

“What's up?” He answered. You shifted your phone against your cheek and settled the box down at your side.

“I got donuts for you. I ate all the glazed though, not gonna lie.” You replied, quickly popping the box open to inspect the chocolate donuts left over. You looked above you, trying to find the masked hero.

“Well, at least you saved me some.” Peter acknowledged. You found him climbing down a wall across the street. He kept his distance, not trying to associate himself with you for the moment. You both agreed that if he was seen with you now, that might scare off the culprit.

You got up from the bench, throwing your cold cup into a trash bin and leaving the box on the bench. “Alright, I'm gonna make another trip around the block. If nothing happens then I guess we should call it a night.” You sighed, disappointed that nothing has happened so far. It was cold, you were tired, and these assholes still haven't showed up. What a bunch of jerks.

“Sure thing, I'll still be watching your back.” Peter assured.

“Thanks, Pete.” You replied sincerely. He hummed in response, accepting your gratitude without any tease or jokes. You appreciated it.

Soon you both hung up, you kept walking forward trying to make it back around to where you originally started. It was later into the night, more people actually came out. Not exactly the type of people you'd wanna hang out with, but they were people nonetheless.

At least you weren't alone out here anymore. But then again, that's not always a good thing.

1000 Follower Ficlet #21

Bonus obligatory wifey ficlet.  Requested by my life, my love, my heart and soul - the amazing @starshiphufflebadger!

Fandom: Star Trek AOS. Pairing: Leonard McCoy X Reader. Prompt: Trying Something New. Rating: All ages. Words: 1606.

“What do you mean, you’ve never built a pillow fort before?!”

You’re gaping at your boyfriend incredulously, appalled at how miserable a childhood Leonard must have had to have never built a pillow fort.

“Where did you hide away from the world?”  You ask, wide-eyed from the shock of it.  “Where did you go to read when there was too much going on in the house?”

“Not much of anything overly exciting ever happened in the McCoy household,” Leonard says wryly.  “I didn’t have those kinds of problems, and it just never occurred to me.”

“We need to fix this,” you say seriously.  “For science.  Tonight, we’re building your first pillow fort.”

Leonard glances around the hotel room you’ll be staying in for the duration of your shore leave.

“How do you plan on building a fort with just a handful of pillows?”  He asks.

“I’m calling room service,” you explain.  “They can leave us a bunch more bedding while we’re out today, and we can pick up some twinkling fairy lights for the inside when we go shopping.”

Leonard rolls his eyes and quirks one corner of his mouth up in a small smile.

“You’re unbelievable,” he says with a chuckle.

With that, the two of you get ready for your day out on the town.  Before long, you’re exploring the planet’s biggest city’s exclusive downtown district, sampling exotic treats and picking up a few souvenirs along the way.  You’re delighted when one of the shops you stop by has the sort of twinkle lights you’d been thinking about for the pillow fort and you pick up a couple of strands for good measure.  By day’s end, you’re exhausted from all the sightseeing and adventuring, but not so much so that you’re not still excited.

“Yes!”  You exclaim as you and Leonard walk into your hotel room and find the assortment of pillows and blankets you’d requested from room service stacked neatly on the bed.

You can practically feel Leonard rolling his eyes behind you but you refuse to let him put a damper on things.  Instead, you set your bags down against the room’s far wall and move off to change into your pajamas, urging Leonard to do the same.  It only takes the two of you a few minutes and soon you’re standing in front of the bed, surveying your supplies.

“Can you move those chairs into this corner?”  You ask, pointing to the aforementioned items.  “They’ll make a great frame for the fort.”

“You’ve got it,” Leonard says resignedly, moving to do as you’ve asked.

As he pushes the four high-backed arm chairs into position with the seats facing out, you begin to arrange the mountain of cushions and pillows on the bed into a pallet on the floor.  Before long, you’ve wrangled them into a plush bed with comfortable little nooks to sit and cuddle in and you’re covering everything with a blanket to keep the pillows from sliding apart.  You can feel Leonard watching you and you grin.

“Well don’t just stand there,” you tease.  “Get down here and give me a hand.  You can’t put zero effort in and expect a warm welcome later!”

You shuffle over a little as Leonard joins you and start handing him little decorative throw pillows to arrange in any crannies left over after the initial layering.  At the same time, you climb to your feet and start shaking out the variety of blankets, throws, and gauzy sheets the hotel staff have left for you.  They’re multicolored and decorated with elaborate embroidery that you’re sure will look amazing lit from within by the fairy lights.

As Leonard finishes up, you move across the room and retrieve a tall floor lamp, unplugging it and carrying it over to the fort area.  Moving carefully, you set it down right in the center of the circle of chairs and tuck the cord safely underneath a few pillows so no one will step on it.  Stepping back, you ensure it’s in the right place before moving back over to the bed.

“Now what?”  Leonard asks as he tucks the last cushion into place.

“Now’s the fun part,” you say with a grin.  “Now we get to hang the blankets.”

You start with the largest one - a light, thin sheet fit for a king-sized bed.  You hand it to Leonard and instruct him to drape it over the floor lamp.  From there, the fort starts to come together and within minutes it���s fully assembled in all its glory.  

Taking a step back and tugging Leonard along with you, you admire the roughly eight foot by eight foot enclosure.  It peaks in the center over the floor lamp, and the blankets trail gracefully from the apex down and over the high-backed chairs.  Looking up at Leonard, you gesture to the bags you’d picked up earlier in the afternoon.

“You get the snacks out,” you instruct.  “Meanwhile, I’ll hang the lights and in a few minutes you’ll get to experience an honest-to-goodness blanket fort in all its glory.”

As Leonard agrees, you head over to the bags and find the lights.  You dash into the blanket fort, parting the makeshift door you’d left in place for easy access and closing it again behind yourself.  It only takes you a couple of minutes to string the lights up all over the place - around the tops of the chairs and spiraled down the floor lamp’s post - and then you gather the plugs.  Reaching under the back wall of the fort, you plug them into a nearby socket and gasp as the lights wink on, illuminating the small, cozy space.

“Leonard, you’ve got to see this!”  You exclaim.

You push aside one of the door flaps again to admit him as he stoops down with a small pastry box in one hand and a bottle of some kind of exotic beverage that had come highly recommended by the locals in the other.  You watch his face as he sets the items down and crawls in, biting your lip as you wait for his verdict.

The smile that follows is all the assurance you need.

“Do you love it?”  You ask.

“Darlin’, it looks great,” Leonard says, glancing around as he crawls forward and joins you in a pile of cushions, making himself comfortable.  “I really did miss out.”

You squeal excitedly and launch yourself at him, nearly toppling him over as you attach yourself to him and snuggle in.  He shifts around so he’s sitting with his back against one of the chairs, steadying himself and giving you more space to crawl into his lap.  You happily take advantage of his new position and settle yourself on his thighs, wrapping one arm around his waist as you use his chest as a pillow.

“If I can convince the quartermaster to cough up some extra bedding, would you want to build one of these in your quarters?”  You ask with a smile.

Leonard’s hearty laughter rocks the both of you as he wraps one arm around your shoulders to steady you and keep you close.

“Why don’t we stick to shore leave?”  Leonard suggests.  “It can be our little tradition.  It’ll make it that much more special.”

You consider it for a moment and agree with a contented hum, nuzzling into his chest.  You reach for the small pastry box with your free hand and untie the ribbon holding it closed, popping open the lid to inspect the treats inside.  They’re French macarons of varying colors and flavors, and you bite your lip as you pluck a pink one out from the folds of the tissue paper that’s holding them snug.  Bringing it to your lips, you give it an experimental sniff before biting into it.  It tastes like nothing you’ve ever tried before - sweet and fruity, but completely foreign - and you hold the other half of the pastry up for Leonard.

“Can we just stay here forever?”  You ask as he plucks the macaron from your fingers.  “The replicators never get macarons right.”

Leonard rolls his eyes as he thoughtfully chews the pastry.  The two of you sit in a companionable silence for a while with Leonard’s hand lazily stroking your back through your thin pajama shirt and his heartbeat thumping against your cheek.  After a while, you glance up at him and find his head tipped back against the chair back behind him, his eyes closed.  You can tell he’s not asleep, but he’s more relaxed than you’ve ever seen him and your heart swells with love for him.

“Will you read me a story?”  You ask quietly, half hoping he hasn’t heard you.

His eyes open and he glances down at you with a lazy smile, nodding.

“Of course, sweetheart,” he says softly.  “What kind of story?”

You pull away from him somewhat reluctantly and crawl out of the fort, making for your luggage.  You pull the book you’d packed out of the duffel’s depths and crawl back into the fort.  As Leonard takes the book from you, you nestle yourself in the pillows on the floor, getting comfortable and laying your head in Leonard’s lap.

“It was my favorite book when I was a kid,” you explain.

Leonard smiles as he flips to the first page.  His free hand comes down to cup your cheek and stroke it gently, soothing and luring you into a state of utter relaxation as he begins to read.

“Mr. and Mrs. Dursley, of number four, Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much...”

It was an 02 plate Renault Megane Coupe Privilege + in excellent condition! I found the same car in a different colour on Auto Trader for 2,000. I think I should get the private seller price as I am effectively selling them my car and not trading it in!? My car was set on fire btw!
