Toji w/ preggy wife + out-of-this-world cravings
Toji stared at the counter. The ingredients you demanded sat before him like a challenge issued by the gods: instant ramen, whipped cream, peanut butter, and pickles. A lineup so vile it could send even the most daring chef into an existential crisis.
"Are you serious about this, or am I just getting pranked?" he asked, glancing over his shoulder.
You sat on the couch, legs crossed, a pillow pressed against your baby bump as you gave him the most innocent look in return. "Dead serious."
"You want ramen topped with this… stuff? And you're gonna eat it."
"Yup."
Toji groaned, running a hand through his dark hair. Of course, you had to pick this moment in your pregnancy to throw curveballs at him. The man was many things—an ex-hitman, a gambler, a loving yet blunt husband—but a gourmet chef? Not so much.
Still, he got to work. He boiled water, ripped open the ramen packet, and eyed the whipped cream like it might explode if he got too close. The sound of the kettle whistling filled the silence, but your voice broke through soon after.
“Don’t forget to add peanut butter! Like a lottt.”
“Yeah, yeah,” he muttered, spooning a glob of it into the pot and stirring like his life depended on it. The smell was… not great. Toji’s nose wrinkled in pure, unfiltered disgust. “You sure this ain’t gonna poison the kid?”
“It’s what the kid wants, Toji. I’m just the messenger,” you quipped.
When it was finally done—complete with pickles carefully arranged on top—Toji approached you with the steaming bowl in hand. He hesitated, watching your excited expression as you reached for it.
“I can’t believe you’re actually gonna eat this. You’re insane,” he muttered, plopping down beside you on the couch.
“Hey, you married me,” you shot back, grabbing the bowl and digging in with absolutely no hesitation.
Toji watched, equal parts fascinated and horrified, as you slurped up the ramen, the whipped cream melting into the broth in a way that should’ve been illegal. He leaned back, arms crossed, still trying to wrap his head around the scene.
“This is actually amazing,” you said between bites, offering him the spoon. “Wanna try?”
He recoiled immediately, glaring at you like you’d suggested he jump off a cliff. “Not in a million years, woman.”
“Oh, come on. You can’t knock it ‘til you try it!”
“Yeah, well, I’ll take your word for it.”
Despite his grumbling, he stayed by your side, handing you napkins, fetching water when you needed it, and even cleaning up after you finished. Disgusted or not, there wasn’t a chance in hell he’d let you handle it yourself.
Later that night, as you snuggled into him in bed, you mumbled, “Thanks for putting up with me. And the weird cravings.”
Toji pressed a kiss to the top of your head, his hand resting protectively on your belly. “Tch. Don’t mention it. Just don’t ask me to eat that crap.”
But even as he complained, you knew he’d do it all over again if it made you and the baby happy.

ᯓ★ mob!au
Run For Your Life (❤✘): he was away from the city for a while, chasing after some bastards who betrayed him. But the traitors were no longer breathing now and Bucky Barnes was finally able to come home to the city he ruled. Mostly, he was excited to come back and see his girl again. However when he got to the strip club where you worked as a waitress, he didn’t find you there. They told him you didn’t work there anymore. No one knew where you went, or why you left. Nobody even knew your real name. Now it was up to him to search the whole wide world to find a nameless girl – one he was obsessively, mindlessly in love with. (@sinner-as-saint) (warning: stalking tendencies)
Passionfruit (❤✘): you spend a well deserved lazy day with your mafia husband and son… plus Bucky getting a little handsy. (@kurogxrix)
Look Don't Touch (❤): you accidentally walk onto your husband and his men during a meeting, clad in nothing else but a tight-fitting top and a baby in your arms. The sight is enough to send the many men drooling, but Bucky reminds them that you’re only his to look at, and will always be. (@kurogxrix)
The Alchemy (❤❅✘): about a decade ago you left your home and ran away, looking for a fresh start after having had your heart broken by the boy you loved. Now you’re back and turns out Bucky Barnes – the same man who once broke your heart – is adamant on tormenting you some more. But why? Why does he want you back at all cost when he was the one who once pushed you away and crushed your heart like it meant nothing to him? What secrets has he been keeping for almost a decade? Most importantly, what truly happened that night he broke your heart? (@sinner-as-saint) (warning: forced marriage/marriage of convenience, possessive behaviours)
4 Minutes (✘): you and Bucky had limited time to spend intimately during the past few days, leaving you both extremely sexually frustrated. When your son’s occupation offers you 4 minutes of free time, Bucky’s damn adamant on making your legs shake in less than 3. (@kurogxrix)
Protector (❤✧): ironically, the man with blood on his hands and a permanent target on his back was the one you’d never felt safer with. (@cherryrogers) (warning: mild violence, assault, stalking, mentions of illness, death)
Honey, There Is No Right Way (❤❅✘): when you agree to be the feared mobster Bucky Barnes’ sugar baby, you expect to get enough money to pay your bills. what you don’t expect is to fall head over heels for him. (@bonky-n-steeb)
A Love For The (P)ages (❤): Bucky might be the baddest mob boss in the city but he’s the softest and sweetest husband in the Universe. (@jobean12-blog)
Stealing Hearts (❤❅✘): his mansion was highly secured, and yet, breaking in and trying to steal from him was rather easy for a skilled thief like yourself. Key word: trying. Of course you got caught by his men. And the mob boss was known to be ruthless, cold, merciless – the list of his villainy was endless – so you thought he’d end you the moment he laid eyes on a thief like you. However, he didn’t. Instead, he made you an unusual offer. One you couldn’t resist. (@sinner-as-saint)
Come Home (❤✘): Bucky comes home to find you and your son asleep in your bed and his heart damn near explodes with how much he loves his family. And after putting your baby to sleep, Bucky proceeds to show you just how grateful he is to have you and how much he loves you… (@sinner-as-saint)
I Am Your Fall (❤❅✘): you’re hiding from your past, in Madripoor. You did nothing wrong, other than mix dangerous business with a lot of pleasure. You couldn’t go home because… he would find you, and Madripoor was the only place he didn’t do business, or had any allies or friends. But little did you know that the mob boss had finally found you, after obsessively looking for you ever since you left, and left him in pieces. He didn’t want revenge, he just wanted the one thing he had hopelessly fallen in love with; who also happened to be the one who had betrayed him and hurt him more than anyone or any bullet ever did before - you. (@sinner-as-saint)
Fallin' For Ya (❤): Bucky finds himself standing in front of your door with a bouquet of roses, wondering when he’s ever allowed his stone-cold mafia heart to fall in love with you. (@kurogxrix)
Yours To Wield (❤❅✘): with the enemy threatening to obliterate your family, you’re left with no choice but to take the hit just so he would spare your loved ones. Belonging to a mafia family requires sacrifices to be made at every step, and in order to save your family you make the ultimate one - you offer yourself up to the enemy. Bucky Barnes isn’t a man one negotiates with, he owns this city and whatever he says is considered law. But when you come to him with an irresistible offer, he bends his own rules for you. What starts out as an agreement becomes so much more, and the two of you find love where it wasn’t supposed to be. But rare are the love stories which don’t include some sort of war. (@sinner-as-saint)
new! Lover Boy (❅✘): it's the Bridgerton carriage scene, but make it mob!Bucky. (@cryptidcasanova)
new! Starting Over (❤❅): when Bucky throws you out of the house for a betrayal and won't listen to your side of the story, you know the only way out is through - it's time to start over. Maybe this was never going to be your happy ending. (@sashaisready)

Tumblr media
You spend the remainder of the party avoiding your boss like the plague. But running into him is inevitable. You work directly for the man, after all.
As the staff trickles out, taking with them their drunken merriment, you’re left to pick up the pieces of your wounded heart and the party’s aftermath.
You shove Solo cups and decorative paper plates into a trash bin. Snatch off tablecloths and roll the karaoke machine into the broom closet. Wipe off tables, tear down garland. You do everything you can to stay busy, your self-loathing an ever-present rain cloud hanging overhead.
What were you expecting? For Mr. Sylus to fall to his knees for you? For him to sever whatever bond he has with Ms. Hunter for you? You snort at yourself as a wet film of heat slides over your eyes, impairing your vision. You feel ridiculous. Sick to your stomach.
The trash bin slips from your fingers, thudding dully on the carpeted floor. In an attempt to collect yourself, you prop your hands on the edge of a table, releasing a shaky sigh. You blink away the new commination of tears. You’d been doing good so far, having given yourself a lengthy pep-talk in the bathroom earlier. Something to get you through what remained of the night without wearing your anguish on your sleeves.
So what if he doesn’t view you in the same light as you view him? This isn’t the first time you’ve faced rejection, and it most certainly won’t be the last. It doesn’t make this iteration hurt any less. You’re his secretary, for God’s sake. Not a friend nor a potential love interest. The quips and laughter you exchange daily are nothing more than him being polite. The model gentleman, maintaining the peace between himself and the person responsible for organizing his life.
You are so swept up in the turmoil of your mind that you hardly register your name being called. Someone beckons to you again, this time more assertive, though not scolding. You whip your head around to the source of the sound, homing in on a familiar shock of white.
Tamping down the emotions swelling in your chest, you straighten, fixing your sweater, and a superficial smile takes up residence on your face.
“Yes, sir?”
He studies you for a beat from the slab of space permitted by his half-opened door, long fingers wrapped around the oakwood like spindly spider limbs. He gives you a once over, his brows slightly wrinkled. His lips quiver, gaze pensive like he wants to say something. Something other than what next comes out.
“Would you mind assisting me with something?” he asks, his tone deceptively impassive.
Your stomach lurches, the feeling akin to cresting over the slope of a roller coaster. You swallow, pushing your disappointment to the back burner. What did you expect him to say? Sorry? Like he even knows you’re upset. Like he knows why you’re upset.
Like he cares.
You nod curtly, wiping your sweaty palms on your jeans. “Of course, sir.”
You move to your desk, your nerves exploding like solar flares beneath your skin while Sylus slinks back into his office. He promptly reappears, thrusting a thick stack of envelopes of varying sizes and colors towards you. Your vision blurs and adjusts as you glance between him and the envelopes.
“Christmas cards,” he answers flatly with a shrug. “I could use some help opening and drafting up responses to them all.”
“Oh.” Try to sound more disappointed, why don’t you?
Your fingers graze the clutch of his hand when you reach for the cards. And the worn, warm glide of his skin beneath your fingertips makes you stiffen. You wonder what it would feel like to purposely hold his hand. To commit the feel of his palm to memory. But you banish such thoughts, bowing your head and ducking away.
“Sorry,” you pinch out, moving to the chaise sofa against the wall by his office door.
He’s wordless as he plops down beside you, releasing a weighted sigh. He drapes his arm along the back of the seat. You try vainly to ignore his slender fingers near your shoulder, drumming against the polished leather.
You lapse into a rigid silence, your shoulders and jaw set. You find your resolve trickling away, the warmth he exudes beside you making you feel dizzy and shameless. He even has the audacity to smell good, that unmistakable mixture of birch wood, pressed clothing, and his natural musk, conspiring together to overhaul your senses.
You wonder if he would be offended if you just… leaned a little this way and—forget it. The bubbly’s getting to you. You’re not testing your luck tonight. You worked your ass off to secure this job, enduring tireless screenings and background checks. Worked even harder to gain his trust. No sense in allowing your feelings to compromise your position.
Besides, you know where you stand with him. Or don’t stand. The spectacle before with the darling Ms. Hunter was all the confirmation you needed. The words you never stood a chance resound in your head like a struck gong. You scoff, tearing into a crimson envelope, dispelling the cacophony in your head.
“This one is from Mrs. Carter over in HR,” you say, waving the card around. You don your usual playful mask, praying your hurt doesn’t show through the fissures. He acknowledges you with a gruff sound, immersed in a card of his own. You take that as your cue to continue.
Feigning nonchalance, you flip the card open. You clear your throat, repositioning yourself on the sticky, squeaky sofa, crossing your legs, and leaning towards the opposite chair arm. You rattle off the card’s contents aloud. A generic greeting, hollow praise, a bidding for a successful new year.
“Send her a gift card,” he answers dismissively. You scoff, tucking the card between your thigh and the chair’s arm. Is it just you, or is he being unbearably cold? You’re the one with the wounded pride here.
You occupy yourself with another letter, trying to quell the new swell of emotions burbling in your chest. You’ve reread the same line repeatedly, the cursive scrawl embedded into the cardstock blurring and bending. It’s exceedingly difficult to focus with him so close. And you find yourself stealing little glimpses of him in your peripheral.
He looks even better beneath the incandescent lights like this, like a Roman sculpture bread from patient hands. His cheeks are mottled red, probably from throwing back one too many glasses of champagne. Delicate, alabaster strands fall from their usual coiffure, sweeping over set brows and hollow cheeks. Dark lashes dust over warm ivory skin, scarlet irises dancing beneath as he reads over another Christmas card. You watch his Adam’s apple bob when he swallows. Find yourself, too, swallowing against the dry, scratchy feeling in your throat.
You tug in the neckline of your sweater. It’s itchy and thick, and the heater’s turned up in the building to combat the cold outside. You’re uncomfortable because of the temperature and not because your boss is so unbearably close.
With a sigh, you peel yourself from the lounge. You venture to your desk in search of a letter opener. If you’re going to spend the rest of your night working, you might as well make the task a little less daunting. Rifling through your drawers, you happen upon the biggest one. And your breath catches, grip white-knuckled on the brass knob when you catch sight of it. Inside lies your present—his present—the intricate foil wrapping gleaming condescendingly.
Something pulls in your chest. Your hand shakes. Your lips pull into a taut line, embarrassment spuming like a hot geyser into your face. You’re about to slam the drawer shut, but a streak of warm skin stains your peripheral vision. And as horror descends onto your features, he snatches up the contents of your drawer faster than you can process things.
“What’s this now?” your boss asks, intrigue mixed with amusement hanging in the boughs of his voice.
Wide-eyed and mortified, you look at him. Your flight or fight instincts kick in, pushing you towards the latter. He dons a wolfish grin as you swipe at the box in his hand, and he holds it just out of reach. Damn him for being so absurdly tall!
“Sir!” you clip, swiping at the gift like an enraged feline. He doesn’t relent, instead spurred by your reaction, and the contents of the box shift about as he continues his childish game of keep away. Your chest slides against him each time you strain on tippy-toe. And you try to ignore how pleasant he feels, warm and hard-bodied against you.
Spinning out of reach, your boss chuckles at your expense. He seems to enjoy this, watching you hop after him like a field mouse, trying vainly to swipe the object from his hand.
“You think I didn’t notice you fretting over this all night?” he teases once you’ve stopped—at least for now—your cheeks puffing out, nostrils flaring.
“Mr. Sylus, I—”
“And you weren’t even going to give it to me.” He clicks his tongue, feigning hurt. “What have I done to warrant such cruelty?”
Reality slowly seeps in. He’s one step closer to opening your gift and discovering how much of a useless spazz you are. Switching tactics, you hold out a placating hand, stepping towards him like he’s holding a charged explosive.
“Sir, I need that back!”
His mouth forms a pensive line as his gaze shifts between you and the box clutched in his fingers. “Why? It’s mine, isn’t it? It has my name on it.” He squints at the meticulous scrawl of your penmanship, and when you make a surprise lunge toward the box when you think he’s distracted, he swings his arm out of reach, baiting you like a bull.
He laughs low, a mirthful crease to his eyes. You’d take time to appreciate it if you weren’t fighting for your life.
“What’s got you so worked up? What could possibly be in here that you’re willing to bite my head off to get it back?”
You swallow thickly, chest heaving as you watch Sylus drop onto your leather rolling chair, cross-legged and smiling like the cat who caught the canary. He shakes the box near his ear, its contents rattling about.
“Sir, don’t.” But it’s too late. The sound of paper ripping is jarring in the stillness of your office space.
You’re stiff as stone, mouth hinged open, terror screwing up your features. Eventually, you concede to your fate, hands falling listlessly at your sides whilst your boss uncovers what lurks beneath the pretty foil paper you’d spent so much time wrapping his present in. You pour yourself onto the chaise lounge, your shoulders touching your ears, feeling like a child waiting with their parents at the principal’s office. You sneak little glances at his hands, each tear making you wince like a scrape against your heart.
Sylus quirks a quizzical brow at you, looking between the matte grey box he uncovered in his hand and you. You don’t contest him, too busy trying to remember how to breathe. He takes your cue, slowly peeling the lid off the box. He reaches inside to procure yet another box, slightly smaller than the one it’s nested in, neatly wrapped in paper similar to what he just tore off.
Giving you a perturbed look, Sylus repeats the previous process. And again, he’s faced with matte gray. He carries on like this, peeling back a lid, finding another box nested inside, and tearing through wrapping paper for another three iterations.
“How long does this go on?” he prods, faced with another box. “And how many trees did you kill to pull this off?”
You press the tips of your index fingers together, pursing your lips as you look elsewhere. “You’re almost there.” You’re half-grateful he decided to be shit about it. You don’t feel as bad for nesting his gift away like matryoshka dolls. He deserves to feel the same distress he subjected you to mere minutes ago.
Vexation rolls off him in waves when he reaches yet another box, and he fixes you with a look that bodes danger. There aren’t too many times you’ve witnessed him this annoyed. He’s normally like this when his afternoon nap is interrupted by anyone but you or he’s dealing with a particularly ornery client.
You stand from the couch with a nervous titter in your throat, snatching up the discarded red bow and ribbons you adorned his gift with and tacking it onto the crown of your head. You do a little jig, something to dispel the tension, wordlessly cheering him on.
Sylus rolls his eyes with a resigned sigh. A ghostly smile rounds his lips thereafter, and you could swear you see something like fondness shining in his eyes at your antics. It disappears as quickly as it came, replaced by a determined pinch between his brows.
You continue swaying your hips from side to side and pumping your fists in the air, the bow's ribbons falling comically over your eyes and water-falling off your shoulders.
Finally, finally, Sylus exposes a matte, black box that’s the size of his palm. Wrapping paper lies like carnage at his feet, bent-up cardboard boxes piled atop your desk. You sigh in relief, though it’s short-lived, as he opens the final barrier between him and his gift.
He studies the contents of this new box, eerily quiet. You swallow as he reaches inside, producing something garish and pink from within. “What the hell is this?” he queries, waving the plastic novelty revolver around.
You snort, the flatness of his tone catching you off guard. “A gun,” you answer as if it’s the most obvious thing in the world.
Sylus scoffs. “Clearly. But what is it for?”
Flourishing your arms, you plaster on a grin. “For you to put me down in case you no longer find any use for me!”
Looking between the pink revolver and you, he crooks his finger around the trigger, huffing a disbelieving laugh. “You want me to ‘Old Yeller’ you?”
“If that’s what it comes down to.” And what comedic timing he has, pulling the trigger, a banner with Bang printed in bright Comic Sans popping out, complimented by a flurry of rainbow paper confetti.
Silence lapses between you as the confetti flutters to the floor. You caution a look at your boss, and he shakes his head, his lips crooked into a smirk, though the knit of his brows reveals his disappointment.
“You can also use it during your meetings when someone pisses you off,” you warily add, shifting your weight between your feet. He doesn’t honor you with a response, instead setting the revolver on your desk with a definitive clack. He studies something in the distance, seemingly ignoring you.
If you weren’t already feeling silly before, you most certainly do now. You figured something unconventional would suit your boss. Something to define your work relationship, the pair of you often trading morbid and esoteric jokes to make the day's hustle a little less daunting. It seemed like a good idea when it caught your eye in the mall. In retrospect, maybe it wasn’t a good buy after all. Especially when compared to Ms. Hunter's gift, and the recollection makes something cold wash over your innards.
You press the tips of your index fingers together, gaze cast on the floor. You’ve screwed up, and you’ll probably lose your job over this. Either that or your working relationship will turn to shit. You’d honestly rather be relieved of your position when considering the latter option. Turning to leave, to pick up the jagged shards of your pride and finish tidying up, you gasp when you feel a warm presence behind you, the fine hairs littering your body standing at attention.
You turn to acknowledge him, wincing away, expecting to be struck. Mr. Sylus has never raised a hand at you before, only lightly flicking your forehead or tapping your nose when he felt playful that day. You realize how ridiculous you must look and sound, but you steel yourself against the worst possible outcome regardless.
A hit never comes. You’re instead greeted with the hard press of a body against yours. With arms loosely winding about your middle and a chin finding the crook of your shoulder. His scent is overwhelming. The heat he exudes is dizzying, wit-pilfering.
Wide-eyed, with your hands opening and closing awkwardly at your sides, you stiffen as you grapple with the notion that your boss is hugging you. Mr. Sylus. Hugging you. No matter how many times you turn the words over in your mind, you can’t process them. You didn’t even know he was capable of such an act.
“Thank you,” he intones, his voice a pleasant vibration in your body. He rubs over the notches of your spine, nuzzling into you further like you’re his security blanket. Once your common sense returns, an affectionate smile touches your lips.
You clumsily return his hug, unsure of the proper conduct in this situation. But you throw caution to the wind, full-on embracing him, your eyes twinkling with tears. “Of course, sir,” you murmur, swallowing against the swell of emotions in your throat.
The hug ends much too soon for your liking. Sylus peels away, his hands clasping your arms. You tilt your head quizzically as he studies you, the bow's ribbons brushing off your shoulder. You must be quite the doe-eyed sight. His eyes darken as his gaze falls to your lips, his own mouth slightly parting. He looks as if he’s wrestling with something in his mind. Turning it over, at war with himself. He seems to win whatever battle is taking place behind his eyes, for he slowly pans in, his lashes bowing.
And maybe you’re swept up in the moment, too, his hug having buried your defenses in the sand. You don’t fight him, only awkwardly shifting when your lips meet before relaxing beneath the slight chap of his lips.
Beneath the ethereal twinkle of the fairy lights you hadn’t yet snatched down, through the stillness of the investment firm’s tenth floor, and with your pulse thundering in your throat, Mr. Sylus kisses you. A full press of lips, his grip on your arms tightening the barest as if to keep you rooted to the spot. Not that you would run, feeling weightless, like navigating a dream.
As quickly as reality floats onto your shoulders like a wispy shawl, he pulls back, wild-eyed and panting. And it’s as if you’re the greatest sin he was never meant to indulge in. He releases you before tearing a shaky hand through his tresses, pushing out a weighted exhale.
“I’m sorry,” he breathes, stepping away from you before you can think, each hurried thump of his loafers across the floor like a strike to your racing heart.
You strain your ears for every bit of sound until the elevator around the corner pings, and you hear him step inside, the doors swishing shut. And you’re left to the swell of static and impenetrable silence, staring after the faint afterimage left by his tall visage.
You turn towards the ceiling high-window, dazed. Touch your lips with shaky fingers, the sensitive skin still tingling with the remnants of your kiss. Flecks of white streak the violet canvas beyond the window, the first snowfall fluttering in gossamer patterns towards the ground.
You got what you wanted. What you’d maybe consider the greatest Christmas gift you've ever received. But as a bitter smile tugs at your lips, your eyesight glossing over with a warm film, and you clutch your chest, your thoughts seep in.
Why does it feel like it’s not what he wanted?

Toji: Indifference
after dating Toji for years, putting him with his recklessness during his assassination assignments, watching him bleed on the bathroom floor while shiu poorly stitches him up, having to move apartments every few months because someone with a grudge or an enemy hunts him down.
dealing with all of that crap, you’ve exploded once you’ve reached your boiling point.
as much as you love toji with all of your heart, want him to see the beauty of the world and feel alive again, you simply cannot stand by while the man you love kills himself.
that’s why you gave him an ultimatum; change careers and he fixes his life  or you walk out.
you’ve known from the start that toji’s a stubborn mule but you didn’t think that he’d choose his job over you.
though heartbroken at first, you eventually end up packing your things. maybe now that things have gotten serious and toji sees you slowly removing pieces of yourself from his life, it’d serve as a wake up call.
toji doesn’t even bat an eye.
he’s lounging on the couch, mindlessly watching a baseball match from the television set he’d stolen from his family.
even when you block his view — hands on your hips and all — he just scoots aside and continues watching.
“you knew what you were getting yourself into from the start.” comes toji’s monotone voice after your yelling, “i’ve warned you and you accepted who i am.”
silence fills the room. you stare at him, hoping that once toji sees the heartbreak, rage, frustration and that little bit of moisture glistening your pretty eyes, he’d see the error of his ways.
but no such thing happens.
instead, toji continues to sit on the couch with his mesmerizing forest green eyes, the very ones that made you fall in love with him, are glued to the screen.
when you march to your bedroom to drag out your luggage, toji doesn’t even offer a goodbye. he doesn’t even watch you leave. toji doesn’t bother to chase after you when you’re halfway down the stairs.

Satoru: Love Bombing and Obsession
having been born as the blessed one, nothing really impresses gojo satoru.
he has mountains of money in his bank account, a stream of endless good luck and women kissing the ground he walks on. with a snap of his fingers, he can have whatever he desires at the palm of his hand.
yet, once you reject him, something inside satoru snaps. no one, no one has ever rejected gojo satoru. it’s always the opposite.
when you reject him for the fourth time in less than a week, satoru draws up a plan that will surely win you over.
it starts off small. he sends breathtaking bouquets of flowers to your work place with cute little notes praising your beauty. whenever he sees exquisite jewelry, he’s sending them to your house, asking you to wear them. when he’s feeling very d̶e̶s̶p̶e̶r̶a̶t̶e̶  determined, satoru will wire you almost 8 million yen. satoru is then showing up to your work place with the excuse of wanting to take you out for lunch. embarrassed by the glances not so subtly thrown your way and the loud whispers haunting your ears, you agree.
and, honestly, satoru isn’t that bad. he’s got that boyish charm to him, he can be pretty funny and he’s intelligent. maybe you were too harsh with him…is what you initially thought until satoru’s true colors started to show.
he will call you throughout the day asking you what you’re wearing, what you’re eating, what will you eat, who are you with, who were you with, who did you talk to, who are you talking to, who will you talk to and you get the idea.
satoru goes as far as installing tracking devices in your car, home and work place just to stay updated. he even threatened your male co-workers, relatives and friends from talking to you as he strongly and firmly believes that he’s the only one you need.
gojo satoru is like a disease you can’t escape.

Kento: Silent Treatment
nanami kento’s biggest hatred in life aside from the corporate tyranny is adults who are quite immature.
and you know this. but sometimes your emotions get the best of you.
like the other night, you had a pretty nasty fight with kento. you had accused him of flirting with another woman at the end of the year party the company kento is working at hosted. when kento defended himself and explained that the woman was all over him, you yelled that he did nothing to get her to back off.
it was a heated argument which consisted of you yelling your head off and kento constantly defending himself.
“i’ve had enough of this.” kento mutters as he snatches his pillow and blanket from your bed to go sleep on the couch in the living room.
come the next morning, you realized your mistake. you barely slept a wink the night before, tossing and turning at your immaturity. guilt lodging itself deep into your soul as you accused kento of infidelity when that man is crazy over you. he works a job he hates just so he can provide for you and for your future family.
with a clearer head, you send him a text.
wanna grab lunch after work?
my treat 🥰
hopefully, the warm and cozy ambiance of your favorite restaurant will remind you of just how loyal kento is, which will then allow you to apologize and trust him even more.
you go about your day; showering, eating breakfast, cleaning the penthouse. all the while you keep glancing at your phone. you’ve worried your lips so much that they’re bruised and cut, metallic flavor dancing on your tongue.
when kento doesn’t return home, you call him about twenty times until it goes to voicemail.
kento only returns at around nine in the evening. he doesn’t greet you, doesn’t even glance at you. it’s like you’re a ghost.
you convince yourself that kento is still angry and probably needs some time to cool off but when this behavior continues for almost two weeks, you’re at your wit’s end.
“baby,” you stand in your walk-in closet, reeking of desperation, as kento is busy tying his tie for an important ceremony at his company later that evening, “talk to me.” you plea but he’s silent as the dead.
tears blur your vision as kento continues to ignore you while adding the finishing touches.
“please.” you stand in front of the mirror, obstructing the view of his reflection. “don’t ignore me, kento. please. i was wrong. i shouldn’t have accused you and i shouldn’t have doubted your love for me. i let my insecurities get the better of me. i’m so sorry.”
for the first time in weeks, kento looks at you. actually, looks. his hands tightly grip your waist and lift you off the ground to place you away from the mirror.
dejected by his rejection, tears are crashing down your cheeks like an angry waterfall.
you try to sand in front of the mirror but kento stops you. just as it feels like the last piece of your heart is about to shrivel up and die, kento leans in and kisses your cheek.
you’re so surprised by the gesture, you don’t notice kento leaving.
it’s only when you hear your phone buzzing on the nightstand that you’re brought to your senses.
i’ll be home late. don’t wait up.
tonight is the first night you’ve had a well rested sleep since your fight.

Sukuna: Purity and Possessiveness
purity is everything to sukuna. he’s in a relationship with you because of your innocence, how you’re blissfully unaware of the carnal desires of man. having to rely on sukuna and be taught of one’s sexual desire is a huge power trip to sukuna. he guides you every step of the way; teaches you what he loves and shows you what you need.
it’s such a euphoric world to live in that it’s difficult to leave it. yet it’s something you have to do. sukuna’s licentiousness is overwhelming. his malevolent behavior frightens you and you no longer feel safe in his arms like you used to.
you’ve managed to hide from him for almost three years but sukuna never stopped searching for you. when he finally finds you, it’s with a grin of victory and of mania glowing in his ruby colored eyes.
until his eyes land on your stomach, that his. instantly, he is sneering at you in disgust. sukuna’s insides curl in protest at the repulsive fact that not only are you with another man, mistakenly believing he can ever satisfy you better than he did, you let him plant his seed in you.
you are–were sukuna’s possession and he doesn’t like to share what rightfully belongs to him.
why should he take you back when you’ve been spoiled, polluted, by the dirty hands of another man? sukuna doesn’t go for sloppy seconds. and there’s no way in hell he’d raise another man’s child.
as quickly as sukuna has reappeared in your life, he’s out of it.

Suguru: Self Sabotage
the road to recovery is a long and arduous one. but geto suguru is proud of his accomplishments. the challenges he had faced were insanely difficult but meeting you has made things much easier.
it has taken a while but, eventually, suguru doesn’t feel his fingers twitching for his next fix. he no longer drinks himself to sleep to silence chaotic thoughts. suguru also managed to throw out all of his blades and his arms and inner thighs haven’t been marred in quite some time.
yet all of suguru’s hard work goes to waste when the two of you had your first major fight. it was cruel. it broke both of your hearts. it forced you to leave suguru’s apartment for a few days to calm down. had you known that your fight, that you leaving suguru, would come with major consequences, you wouldn’t have left.
you receive the call at around three in the morning. suguru’s in the emergency room after a drug overdose and slitting both his wrists. you’re in no condition to drive as you can’t stop crying, wailing your lover’s name, so your best friend had to drive you to the hospital.
the doctors inform you that suguru’s chances are slim and you believe their words because you’ve never seen suguru so pale. even when he first met him, he wasn’t as ashy. his face wasn’t sunk in like it is now.
it’s your fault!
you broke him!
you ruined him!
you killed him!
you don’t deserve him!
you don’t deserve anyone!
menacing thoughts abuse you throughout the early morning. by the sun comes out and the nurses stop by suguru’s room to check up on him, you’re dead on your seat.
thankfully, you’ve been rescued from your torturous thoughts by none other than suguru. he stares at you with a haunted expression. his tongue darts out to moisten his chapped.
“y/n,” he croacks your name and you hurry to silence him lest he irritates his throat any further but one glance from suguru has you sitting back down, “i’m so sorry.”
suguru’s voice is so low that you have to lean in to hear him.
“please don’t leave me. i can’t live without you.”
a sickening wave of terror welling up from y/n’s belly at each word suguru uttered. how could she have been so stupid? why did she fight suguru when she knows just how sensitive he is!
shame washes over y/n like tidal waves.
“i’m sorry, baby.” y/n whispers as reaches for suguru’s hand. she places a gentle kiss on the gauzed wrapped around his injured wrist. “it’s all my fault. i won’t do it again.”
y/n searches suguru’s amethyst eyes for forgiveness.
“promise?” suguru asks, sounding so scared.
“i promise.”

Yuuta: Stalking
dating yuuta is like dating an overgrown puppy.
he’s so loyal to you that one might actually call it blind devotion. yuuta will jump through burning hopes to please and satisfy you. in his eyes, you’re the most beautiful woman blessed on earth.
dating yuuta can be exhausting as well. since he’s five years younger than you, he’s quite energetic. which is exactly what you’ve been searching for after being married to your lazy husband who barely lifts a finger to scratch his ass.
and it was fun at first but now you’re exhausted to the bone and can barely keep up. that’s why you decide that it’s time to hit the gym. you need to build up your stamina if you want to keep up with your good little boy.
“good luck with gym today!” yuuta is standing at the apartment genkan to send you off. the tail only you can see is wagging in excitement, ready to hear a compliment for doing a good of packing your gym back.
“thank you, my little puppy.” yuuta beams at the baby voice you use and is as light as a feather when you peck his lips not twice but four times.
“be a good little boy while mommy’s gone.” yuuta fervently nodding his head sends you into a fit of giggles at just how adorable he is.
yuuta waits about ten minutes before he’s sprinting into your bedroom to quickly change his clothes, yank the apartment door open where he takes the stairs by twos and hops on his bicycle, cycling as fast as his legs can allow him.
he’s stopping right across the street from your gym just as you drive into the basement parking lot. state of the binoculars at the ready, yuuta enters the abandoned building next to your gym and makes his way to the rooftop.
yuuta isn’t stalking you. really, he isn’t. he just…follows you around to make sure nothing happens to you.
it’s just like he did before he started dating you. yuuta would follow you around town, patiently waiting for him to plant himself in your world like a may flower. he knows all of your favorite places; restaurants, cafes, stores, etc. yuuta knows where you like to go when you want to be alone and he even knows where your parents live despite the fact you’ve been dating for only two months and you have yet to bring up your parents.
Yuuta’s grip tightens on the binoculars. he despises the fact that there aren’t any male instructors at your gym. he has to watch from the side as your male teacher comes closer and corrects your posture. yuuta’s eyes zero in to make sure that the instructor’s touches don’t linger.
after about an hour, yuuta receives a text that you’re going to grab coffee with the girls from your pilates class, girls yuuta has pulled up all and any information on them to ensure they aren’t harmful, that they won’t corrupt you.
okay mommy ♥️
yuuta will a good boy and wait for you 😇
yuuta’s on his bicycle, subtly following your car to your favorite cafe by the riverside.

I had been (sorta) (kinda) (maybeeeeee) running a cult out of my ranch for years now. It was going pretty well I’d say! It was small but that made it inconspicuous. It was generating plenty of money for me and nobody cared enough about the run down ranch a few miles outside of town that the stranger individuals would visit frequently.
We had just finished up the usual “sacrifice” of a rat, a stringy thing I decided to put out of its misery after seeing it in a pathetic little tank in the store, when a blinding light emerged from its carcass. It was this odd grayish green color. Reminiscent of a rather painful turd or some especially stinky vomit.
Of course every religion needs a figurehead. I’d found some random God in an old history textbook from my mythology class. I’d just so happened to choose one that had a rodent schtick.
You could imagine my surprise when the little rat I’d just speared through exploded with that ugly green light, then warped and twisted. Convulsing about as it changed shape into what could best be described as a star made out of flesh, bone, and rat fur. It was hands down, the GROSSEST thing I’d ever seen.
And THEN the thing had the audacity to start speaking. Every utterance from its tongue caused another convulsion in the warped rat, a faint glow of that green emitting from the eyes. Which were much too far apart by this point. It really was horrible to look it, there were little bones sticking out and puncturing the flesh everywhere. Eugh. I should’ve picked a less gross god, maybe then I would’ve be in this horrendous predicament.
The warped rat body spoke to the congregation for about 30 minutes. For 25 of that I wasn’t paying attention because I didn’t want to barf all over my supposed deity. (There were little droplets of that disgusting rat blood on my ceremonial carpet. That particularly irked me.) For the last 5, I do not think I shall soon forget it.
“This my dear congregation!” (The rat… thingy… hovered a little bit closer to me.) “is a true servant! A true leader! And a true follower. He has blessed you with the gift of my existence. He has shepherded you along the way and through adversity to create my return! This man! He is now my high priest, henceforth until his death!”
“I’m what?” I couldn’t stop the blunt words from falling out of my mouth.
“You’re my high priest!”
“… riiiiiiiiiiiiight.”
“Do you… have doubts?” The rat-jumble asked, its scratchy voice reminded me of someone who was talking right after waking up, but very deep and highly unsettling.
“Am I really quite… priestly enough?” I asked, cringing slightly. It was evident I had made a very very grave mistake by this point.
“You’ve been preaching g for months. You brought me back from my slumber. I was sure I’d never be worshipped again. You are most certainly my high priest.” He… it… the rat thingy assured. I just nodded. I had entirely screwed myself. I was gonna be stuck with this cult the rest of my life…
“To go with your title high-priest, I will bestow on you a gift of my choosing.” Oh goody. Please don’t be dead rats. Please don’t be dead rats.
The rat sphere drifted nearer, the dripping of blood still grating on my nerves. Keeping the abject terror off my face was difficult beyond imagination. The orb then rotated so wherever the tail went in the warped carcass could tap me gently. As it did, I felt the most exhilarating burst of what I can only describe as rat magic.
“You shall be able to heal even the most sick and miserable. With your words, your touch, your compassion. The spread of sound and healthfulness shant be stopped but by your own limitation.”
I wasn’t sure what was appropriate at that moment so I kneeled. A particularly bad idea, as it now bug me in the rat-blood splash zone. I mean SERIOUSLY! This is the grossest vessel that he could’ve possibly picked! My carpet is entirely ruined!
With that final statement however, the pen fell to the ground with the most hideous mush noise, a few crackles, and what can best be written as a “Skrrrrrrsht.”
Now what on earth was I to do with this information… or ability. I certainly couldn’t heal my mind from what I’d just witnessed transpire. Believe me, I was trying. The divine are disgusting. So I wordlessly lead my congregation out of the doors of my makeshift chapel, and to the Waffle House half a mile away.
As is usual for Saturdays, we all ate at the Waffle House in our congregation robes. Today though. The viscous syrup warming my throat brought to mind the mental imagery of the rat blood. I shoved it aside and decided maybe to forgo the waffles… just for today.
You started a scam religion for a quick buck. You begin to panic when your fake god was actually a real forgotten one awakened from new worshippers, declared you it's high priest, and granted you the power of healing.

what about monster bf that it's so excited that he finishes without even touching himself
Virgin!Monster Roommate whimpers as he bolts from your room and scurries off into his own. A heady mix of humiliation and arousal burn in his belly and he can’t stand it. The image of you touching yourself like that is burned in his brain and it’s doing funny things to his body. He aches and tingles all over and he doesn’t know what to do.
He dives face first into his bed, stuffing his face in his pillow and releasing a monstrous groan. Of pain or pleasure he isn’t sure. A beat of silence settles and it only embarrassed the poor monster further. Then his door creaks open ever so slowly as you walk in.
“Heyyyy buddy,” you say tentatively, looking over his form to assess the damage.
Your Virgin Monster Roommate groans in response, rapidly shaking his head. He pushes his pillow against his ears as if that’ll block your voice from his hyper-hearing. Even then the smell of your sweat and the lust dripping from your pores has his cock throbbing in his pants.
“You saw a lot of intense stuff back there, didn’t you? Remember that talk we had about knocking—“
Virgin Monster Roommate bolts up, not wanting to hear you finish that sentence. You yelp quietly as he suddenly sits up in bed. Turing to face you with his bright blushing face without any shame.
“What was all that? W-what were you doing with all those things?” Your roommate spits out, memories flashing in his head. Various sized objects splayed all across your bed. Now it’s your turn to slightly blush, nervous laughter bubbling up from your throat.
“You mean the toys? Well, I use them on all my sensitive parts to make me feel so nice and good. To bring me more pleasure than I can stand till I explode,” you explain, voice turning husky as you walk closer to your inexperienced monster roommate.
His throb bobs, imagining all the ways you could use those toys on your pretty plush body to make you feel just as warm and tingly as he feels right now. His body burns impossibly hotter, precum spilling out of him and soaking his boxers.
“A-and why were you tied up?”
You laugh again, no longer nervous or embarrassed. Biting your lip you continue to walk closer to him. Your clothes that were hastily thrown on were a mess and your hair almost as wild as him.
“I did that to myself. I like to see myself on full display. Or maybe… I was just waiting for you to barge into my room like you do every night right on the dot,” your purr seductively, leaning in closer as you finally reach him.
Virgin Monster Roommate sucks in a harsh breath as you lean in. His body feeling so many things he’s never really felt before. He’s aware of his rock hard cock. The thing gets hard every day since he’s lived with you, he knows what it means to be so dizzyingly turned on. But everything else? No idea. The pressure pulsing in his lower abdomen, the sparks coursing through his body, the way he feels himself ache the more he holds back something he can’t explain.
But the moment you gently lower yourself, kneeling on the ground between his spread legs, and your hands ever so gently brush against his thighs, your monster roommate snaps. An anguished grunt falls past his lips, hips jerking and bucking up toward you as if begging for you. Then a warm rush of liquid erupts and fills his boxers full of his cum.
Sweat beads at his forehead as spurt after spurt of cum spills out of him till there’s a wet spot on his pants. Your teasing absolutely draining him before you could even really touch him. He pants heavily, blushing even harder as he realizes what must’ve just happened. His eyes hesitantly flicker over to your shocked face.
“Did-did you just cum untouched?” You ask, trying to wrap your head around it. Even as your own body floods with arousal. So desperately eager to play with him just as you’d play with your toys.
“Y-yes, hah! Yes, I did,” he moans, his cock twitching and straining against his pants. Already so desperate for more. A wicked smile spreads across your lips and your hands slide all the way up his thighs and right where he needs you most. Virgin Monster Roommate sucks in a harsh breath as he feels himself start to harden.
“Such a good boy. Can you do it again?”
And you’re both certain, without a doubt, that by the end of tonight Virgin!Monster Roommate won’t be a virgin any longer.

That one scenario where C and MC have a kid has my heart completely 😭 Can we get a follow up for that? How are things going on in the joint household? I'm also very curious to see what C would name their kid 🤭
the hershey’s kisses glinted in the late afternoon sun, crinkled foil catching the golden light that streamed in through the window. aster sat cross-legged on the sofa, a small island of contentment in the messy sprawl of school bags and discarded socks she’d left in her wake.
she was humming under her breath as she unwrapped another piece of chocolate, oblivious to the way her shoes lay in two opposite corners of the room and how her lunchbox sat precariously balanced on the edge of the coffee table.
you leaned against the kitchen counter, sipping coffee and watching her with the detached amusement of a parent who knows they’ll have to clean up the mess but hasn’t yet summoned the energy to do so.
C was in the armchair, one foot propped on the edge of the ottoman, clicking through their macbook with half an eye on aster. it was domesticity in its sweetest form, the kind you don’t think about when you’re young and idealistic, imagining love and family like perfect polaroids on a wall.
“did you give her those?” C asked suddenly, their voice louder than the hum of the dishwasher in the kitchen.
you blinked and set your coffee down, moving closer to inspect the crumpled foil wrappers littered around aster.
“nope,” you said after a beat. “not exactly either of our flavor. that’s… what is that, cherry? we don’t have those in the house.”
C arched a brow, and without missing a beat, turned their full attention to your daughter.
“aster,” they said, voice soft but with a worried edge, “where did you get the chocolates?”
aster’s head snapped up, her chalcedony green eyes lighting up with excitement.
“felix gave them to me!” she said, her grin wide enough to show the little gap where her front tooth had fallen out last week.
C froze, their hand tightening slightly on the edge of their macbook. you, on the other hand, were far more amused.
“felix, huh?” you said, crouching slightly to meet aster’s eye level. “and who’s felix again?”
her grin grew impossibly wider as she happily declared: “my boyfriend!”
you chuckled, leaning against the arm of the sofa. “oh, really? you have a boyfriend now, kleine ster? when did this happen?”
“this morning actually!” aster exclaimed, bouncing a little on the cushions. “he gave me the chocolates at recess and said he liked me, and i said i liked him too, and now we’re boyfriend and girlfriend!”
C’s eye twitched, a muscle jumping just beneath the surface. they sat up straighter, their attention now fully honed on your seven-year-old’s revelation.
“did he now?” they said, their voice tight. “and what else did this... felix boy say?”
aster frowned, confused by the sudden shift in tone. “uh… he said i could have the last red crayon in art class.”
“generous of him,” they muttered darkly, looking distinctly unimpressed.
“C,” you said warningly, but they ignored you, leaning forward with the intense focus of someone about to conduct an interrogation.
“and does this felix… hold your hand?” they asked, their tone too casual to be actually genuine.
“sometimes,” aster admitted, her brows knitting together.
C’s mouth tightened into a thin line. “does he share his lunch with you?”
“yeah, today he gave me his oreos!”
C’s jaw twitched. you pinched the bridge of your nose.
“C,” you said again, a little louder this time. “let it go, darling. they’re just kids.”
but they were too far gone now, leaning forward as though proximity might grant them any sort of control over the situation.
“aster,” they said with all the solemnity of someone at a funeral, “you can’t have a boyfriend. you’re too young. your brain isn’t fully developed. you’ll... you’ll explode! you’ll leave your parents all alone then and it’ll make us very sad.”
aster blinked at them, unwrapping another hershey’s kiss with deliberate slowness.
“i will explode?” she asked, clearly confused by this turn of events.
you rolled your eyes. “no, you wo—”
“yes, you will,” C insisted, cutting you off. “and anyway, you’re not allowed to date anyone until you’re like 30 and paying taxes. it’s a rule.”
“that’s not a rule,” aster said with the stubborn certainty of someone who knew she was right. she really was her parents’ daughter. “and felix is a good boy.”
“‘good,’” C muttered under their breath, glaring at the imaginary felix as though he was lurking in the shadows, waiting to hand their precious little star another chocolate. “i’m going to fight this seven-year-old.”
“C!” you snapped, stepping between them and placing a hand on C’s shoulder. “calm down, my love. it’s harmless.”
C leaned back reluctantly, their gaze flicking between you and aster, who was now watching them like they’d sprouted a second head.
“fine,” they grumbled, crossing their arms over their chest.
***
after dinner, aster sat cross-legged in the middle of the living room, her brow furrowed in concentration as she examined a tiny instruction manual for building LEGOs with the intensity of someone decoding the human genome. her fingers, small but deft, picked up pieces and slotted them into place, her movements sure and deliberate.
C sat beside her, their long legs folded awkwardly beneath them, one hand bracing their bad knee. their fingers worked slower than hers, more hesitantly. the gap between them—her bright enthusiasm, their cautious quiet—was almost laughable. but C didn’t laugh.
they watched her instead.
aster had inherited their stubbornness, the precision of their thoughts, the way they spoke with certainty even when they were wrong, the hard-headed refusal to back down in the face of a challenge. but she’d also inherited your warmth, your easy charisma, the way people seemed to orbit around you like you were some kind of gravitational force.
she was both of you, but neither of you. something wholly her own. and she shone so brilliantly.
“non,” aster said suddenly, shaking her head. she spoke in a tone that was equal parts exasperated and amused, the way one might speak to a child who couldn’t quite grasp a simple concept. “that piece goes here. look.” she leaned over, plucking a flat blue brick from the pile and snapping it into place on the half-constructed spaceship.
“ah,” C said, their lips quirking into a faint smile. “of course, petite étoile. how foolish of me.”
she beamed proudly, her confidence growing with each small victory.
“it’s okay. you’re still learning,” she said magnanimously, patting their arm. honestly, it amused C greatly to see her reflect you back when you both argued everyday like your life depended on it.
C snorted, shaking their head. “merci, mademoiselle.”
“pas de problème,” she replied breezily, her accent and pronunciation impeccably like a parisian native.
C felt a pang of pride so sharp it was almost painful. french had been one of their gifts to her, a piece of their heritage they had handed down like an heirloom. and she had taken to it effortlessly, as if it had always been hers.
she slipped between languages with a grace that left C in awe, her young mind absorbing everything like a sponge.
“wat is dit?” she asked suddenly, holding up a strange piece they hadn’t encountered yet.
“hmm,” you said from where you were sprawled on the couch, your legs stretched out and a book resting on your chest. you barely looked up as you answered her in dutch, explaining what the piece was and where it might fit.
aster nodded thoughtfully, her small fingers turning the piece over as she considered its possibilities. C watched her, their heart swelling with a mixture of love and disbelief.
how could someone so small hold so much brilliance? how could she be so much more than they had ever dared to imagine for themself?
“do you think felix likes LEGOs?” aster asked suddenly, breaking their reverie. she was staring at them now, her eyes—C’s eyes, pale green and perceptive—narrowed in thought.
C felt their jaw tighten at the mention of the boy, the ghost of their earlier irritation flickering to life.
“i have no idea,” they said evenly, focusing on the spaceship.
aster tilted her head, clearly unconvinced by their tone.
“he’s nice,” she said firmly, as though this simple fact should erase all of C’s doubts.
“i’m sure he is,” C said, their tone carefully neutral.
you glanced up from your book, smirking slightly as you watched the exchange. let it go, your eyes seemed to say.
but it wasn’t that simple.
it wasn’t about this felix boy, not really. it was about aster, about the inexorable passage of time, about the impossibility of holding on to something as fragile and fleeting as childhood. she was growing up, and there was nothing C could do to stop it.
C reached for another LEGO brick, their fingers brushing against aster’s. she looked up at them, her eyes bright with curiosity.
“tu vas bien?” she asked, her voice soft and earnest.
the question caught them off guard. for a moment, they didn’t know how to respond. how could they explain the tangled mess of emotions that had been simmering inside them all day? how could they tell her that the thought of her growing up terrified them in a way they couldn’t quite articulate?
“i’m fine, petite étoile,” they said eventually, forcing a smile. “just tired.”
she seemed to accept this, turning her attention back to the spaceship. but C couldn’t help noticing the small furrow in her brow, the way her hands moved more slowly now, as if she was trying to puzzle something out.
they watched her in silence, their heart aching with a strange, bittersweet kind of love.
***
later, when the spaceship was complete and aster had been tucked into bed, C found themself sitting on the edge of your shared bed, their head in their hands.
“okay,” you said, sitting beside them. “do you want to talk about what exactly is bothering you, my love?”
they sighed, looking up at you now.
“it’s just… strange,” they said, their voice low and tired. “she’s growing up so fast. too fast. i feel like i blinked, and suddenly she’s not my little girl anymore.”
you stayed quiet, letting them find the words.
“i still remember holding her in my arms for the first time,” they continued, their voice thick with emotion. “i remember her first steps, her first word, the first time she looked at me and called out for me. and now… now she’s talking about boyfriends and whatnot.”
they let out a bitter laugh, running a hand through their hair. “i didn’t have this. a proper childhood. a father who cared. i don’t know what i’m doing half the time. i just… i look at her, and i love her so much it terrifies me. so much so that i still don’t understand how my father could—”
“hey,” you interrupted gently, placing a hand on their arm. “you’re nothing like him. you’re such a wonderful parent, C. she loves you so much. you can see it every time she looks at you. and yeah, it’s hard watching her grow up. but that’s the deal. you love them, and you let them go, little by little, so they can become who they’re meant to be.”
C nodded slowly, their eyes softening as they looked at you. “i know you’re right.”
you leaned in, pressing a kiss to their temple. “of course i’m right, i always am.”
they rolled their eyes, but a small, tired smile tugged at the corners of their mouth.
“do you think…” they hesitated, the tips of their ears turning adorably red. “do you think we should have another one?”
“another what?” you teased, raising an eyebrow.
they scowled, burying their face in your neck.
“you know what i mean,” they mumbled, their voice muffled. “don’t make me say it out loud.”
you laughed, stroking their hair. “we’ll talk about it in the morning.”
but you already knew the answer.

I never knew we could coexist together
Shadow x reader
Summary : shadow is surprised to learns that humans understand grief. And he learns it from the human that’s the most tolerable and happiest in his life.
———————————————————————
“Do you really think you could ever understand.”
His voice ragged and tight from the anger. There’s no way anyone could understand what he lost. Especially not you…
You have everything. A happy family, friends, a place in this world.
 he had nothing…
Sure others may have accepted him, yet it has never been the same and it hasn’t ever taken the pain.
Someone as happy as you wouldn’t and shouldn’t ever understand his pain.
His grip getting tighter in his hand, he can feel himself shaking a bit as he lowers his eyes to the ground.
He feels bad for snapping at you. He wasn’t expecting to have all his pent up anger explode on you. Finally the shame starts crawling it’s way and he was getting ready to leave. He didn’t want to see your face.
Not right now, when he feels so angry with you even though you’re the only one thats stuck around.
All his emotions are spinning all over his head just waiting for another opportunity to explode, and he does not want you to be at the end of it.
Without saying anything else, he keeps his head down as he turns to leave.
But just as he’s a few steps away his are is pulled back quite forcefully towards you again.
“What do you think you’re doing—“
You hugged him.
Holding tight making sure you won’t let go of him. He tenses a bit not fully processing what you’re doing.
Why are still trying? Why do you still care even if he hurt you? He doesn’t deserve you.
Before he realizes it, he’s holding you close as well.
Nothing is said between either of you, he’s simply shaking a bit in your arms as you rub his back a bit.
Memories come back to him. Those of maria, his actions, and of you.
Small tears roll down his cheeks but he could care less at the moment. “It hurts.” His voice broken and tired from all the pain that never goes away.
You hugged him a bit tighter as you whisper a bit into his ears, “I know shads, i know.” Not daring to let go or abandon him in this moment, you wait it out. Feeling your own tears slowly dropping as well as his cries intensify.
He feels like he just got ran over, but at least you’re still there, holding him. Both of you more calmed down from the whole ordeal.
He finally decides to let go from your embrace and you let him.
He sits on the ground and you follow along and sit next to him. Just waiting to see who’ll be the first to speak.
Surprisingly after a few minutes shadow softly starts speaking, “i don’t want to talk about it.” His brows furrow a bit, “i appreciate your kindness, but I don’t like speaking about my pain.”
He feels you caress his hand. “That’s okay,” holding it firmly when turns it offering you to continue your action of affection, “i understand that pain can be hard to share.”
He turns to see you, eyes glazing over you face wondering what ever could have caused you pain to make that expression.
“You might be surprised but humans suffer from many things. Some of us are just a little better at pretending nothing’s wrong.”
“Doesn’t it hurt to do that?”
You look over, seeing his worry through his eyes. “Of course it does. Suffering is always painful.” Your eyes and hands never leaving one another. Sharing more emotions this way than any words could describe.
You lean a bit onto him, “but you know,” he reciprocates as you continue, “i think that’s a reason why there’s so many of us in the first place. Maybe so we could  help each other through the pain… it’s too bad many seem forget the value of this”
He shifts a bit as he feels you move again. This time you’re kneeling a bit in front of him.
“That’s why I’m so glad that I at least have you in my life.”
His heart twinges a bit, feeling guilty for trying to ever push you away. And you notice it before he even says anything.
“Please don’t shut me out,” you’re hugging him again.
And he hugs you back, holding you softly as he feels your breath on his shoulder. Your actions and words melting all the doubt and numbing the pain. He’s comforted knowing that you’re not going nowhere, staying right there with him.
“Im glad that it’s you, and not anyone else at my side.”

Y'all if you really need this to be all queer all the time I can support that but it's not that fucking hard to do. Make em both bi or pan or nonbinary or any number of fun things. The notion of a romance founded in mutually seeking an abortion and the intimacy of sharing one's desires for the present and maybe the future against the backdrop of ensuring one another's freedom from parenthood (at least, right now) is too good a concept to let go.
Couple of Texan kids, say. I spent a long time there, it's a natural pick for me. They're in college and they go to one of those keggers the frats throw, meet at a wild party as college kids, maybe they're freshmen or sophomores. Call em Sam and Kris so I don't have to specify which character has which genitals.
Sam's a nervous anxious perfectionist with huge career plans and big dreams who has life planned out in exhaustive (and exhausting) detail, only even at this party because a friend insisted on a break between exam rounds. There's a lot of internal pressure built up that's going to explode the moment Sam relaxes. Kris is a little unformed, not sure what major to pick or what career to settle on, still trying to work out what kind of person might be good to grow into, good at surface connections but kind of lonely for something deeper. The frat parties are familiar and comfortable—Kris knows how they work and how they run, and if you're friendly and you smile at people and maybe hook up now and again you get to feel REALLY connected and useful, and that's a heady feeling. They meet at the party Sam's friend picked out and immediately feel the attraction and hook up while totally shit faced—huge aberration for Sam, maybe not so much for Kris. There's a condom, but it breaks. It doesn't seem like a big deal in the moment, but in the morning, that's another story.
Sam is panicked. A baby is going to derail all their careful plans and their self control, but you can't not step up to take care of a baby. Ohhhhhh fuck oh fuck oh fuck, what do we do? Kris is quiet as they consider the mess and the possibilities. Shit. Shit shit shit. They maybe exchange numbers and withdraw for a minute until someone's period is late. They might try to find plan B but neither of them is entirely sure where you buy that shit and it takes a few days to find out, by which point it's too late. And then the period fails to show up, and it fails to show up, and the pregnancy test reads positive, and they're running out of time...)
CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE
IF SAM HAS A DICK: they are a moral and ethical enough person that they do not consider abandoning Kris as an option if the pregnancy goes to term. They may propose marriage or coparenting as a potential option but they are clearly terrified by all possible options.
Kris is touched and kind of flattered. They're not sure whether they want kids or not, but now doesn't feel like a great time with everything so up in the air. Anyway, Sam is hot but used diapers and vomiting do not sound hot at ALL right now, and Kris's parents are kind of distant and definitely aren't going to be any kind of useful. They broach a preference for an abortion, Sam sags in shocked relief, and then starts talking about figuring out how to pay for it—not what Kris expected—and making plans to skip classes and talk to teachers to figure out the logistics. Oh, Kris thinks, feeling warm and fuzzy: Kris expected to be on their own to fix this, but Sam is acting like this is both their responsibility equally to resolve. They've never felt cared for like that. Oh...
IF KRIS HAS A DICK:
Sam is hyperventilating over the pregnancy test results and acting as if going to one party doomed them for all time, and Kris inexplicably kind of wants to hug them? Shit happens sometimes. They ask tentatively what Sam actually wants as Sam starts collapsing under the weight of the impending ruin of their life and how disappointed "everyone" will be and all the bad things that might happen, and Sam whips their head over and stares for a second in astonishment before saying, huntedly, "I want for none of this to be happening!"
"Oh, okay. Do you want an abortion?"
"I can't afford to on my own, I'm going to have to ask my parents for extra money and they are not going to be happy. Shit, shit, shit, I'm going to be paying for this until the end of time, I don't have time for this—" and Sam bursts into tears. Kris feels bad and, like, look. Kris likes to help people anyway, and it's not like this situation isn't equally Kris's own fault. So they offer to help Sam figure this out and pay for the whole thing—they've got a job at a bar that can cover it—and they help Sam calm down and explore some options so that together they can find a place to get an abortion. They offer to drive, too: that means they don't have to wait as long on a bus or something but Sam can study from the passenger seat. It's not like any of Kris' classes require a lot of effort; psychology is good for that much. Let's make a day trip out of it.
Sam, who is used to having to do everything on their own, is feeling really cared about and seen right now. And, well, Kris is really hot...
There you go. It's a fucking romance. Deal with it.
there's an extremely niche plot in romance fiction wherein our invariably heterosexual leads fall in love after a night of passion leads to an unplanned pregnancy and they're now bound together by an impending child. I cast no judgment on anyone who enjoys this, but since I'm an evil gay and this is my personal nightmare scenario I want to see a zany romance novel premised on the opposite resolution: a couple falls in love while on a whirlwind roadtrip to obtain a legal abortion

Azriel walked into the living room of what he called the River House. He held your hand but kept you about an arm’s length behind him.
His broad back and slightly widened wings both hid you from your family and your family from you.
“You fucking idiot,” Cassian said with a relieved sigh as he ran and almost jumped into Azriel’s arms. He almost melted into your mate, but his closed eyes made it so he didn’t see you.
Cassian’s hair had grown even longer. He looked stronger than you had ever seen him.
Seeing him brought even more tears to your eyes. You didn’t think you could cry more, but you definitely did.
“I got delayed getting your present,” Azriel said back.
His body language told you that Cassian was about to explode with fury. But then he opened his eyes and looked directly into yours.
Cassian almost pushed Azriel to the floor before he ran to you and picked you up in the biggest hug.
“What in the Mother?” He yelled as he spun around to Azriel, still with you in his arms. “How? What? I’m so confused.”
You just laughed a tearful laugh.
He sat you down and you immediately felt Azriel’s hand rest on your lower back. You knew it was hard for him to let other people touch you, but he tried his best to calm his overprotectiveness.
“You’re real,” Cassian stated and you saw how tears filled his eyes.
You didn’t manage to say anything, so you just nodded.
In the meantime, Rhys had moved towards you. He stepped up before you and engulfed you in his arms.
He held your head into his chest and joined Cassian’s with a few more questions. His heartbeat made you sob.
“How are you alive?” he asked, but you were too overwhelmed by feelings to speak.
“The group on the continent,” Azriel said.
You looked up and saw Rhys’ eyes widened.
“Memory loss,” he said. “And they’re-“
“Dead,” Azriel replied.
“Good.”
You heard steps and the second Rhys let go of you a new hug caught you. Mor. She somehow managed to hold you tighter than both Cassian and Rhysand.
“Please let her breathe, Mor,” Azriel’s voice sounded behind you. His voice was slightly grumpy, but you knew he tried to hold it back.
“This is the best Winter Solstice ever,” Mor cried into your shoulder after she had loosened her grip just a little.
She let you go and you retreated into Azriel’s arms. While you were extremely happy to be back with your family, it all felt a little too overwhelming. Azriel’s arms calmed some of the emotions.
“You have some explaining to do,” Amren was the next one to speak.
“Yes,” you replied again with a teary laugh. “I definitely do.”
You then began to look around in the room. Your family looked at you with wide, some teary, and confused eyes. You really looked forwards to spend time with all of them.
Three females caught your eye. It was very visible that they were sisters. The tattoos covering the arms of one of them told you that was Feyre, Rhys’ mate. One of the others looked at you with unsure sharp eyes. You guessed that would be Nesta, Cass’ mate. That left Elain, and her soft eyes and smile told you that you probably were right about who was who.
“Hi,” you said from a distance. “I’m Y/N. Azriel’s mate.”
You couldn’t help the ginormous smile that reached for face. That was the first time you had introduced yourself as Azriel’s and cauldron it felt good. You turned you head and looked up at Azriel. He was proud too.
The table was set for dinner, but no one had eaten. It was a decorated tree in the middle of the room and it laid many presents under it. But none of them were opened.
You suddenly realized what day it was. You quickly looked over to the clock and your heart sunk when you realized that you had missed it completely.
“What?” Azriel asked immediately. He must have felt your feelings of sadness. You felt as his shadows started to lightly pull you closer to him.
All the overwhelming emotions brought in even more emotions as you started to cry, this time from sadness.
“We missed Winter Solstice,” you told him.
Even though you must have looked absolutely crazy, Azriel acknowledged your feelings.
“I’m sure we can celebrate next evening instead,” he said as a try to calm you down.
“That’s less than 24 hours. I can’t get all presents in 24 hours! And everything will be closed.”
For some reason, missing Winter Solstice was the worst thing that could happen. You guessed it was because everything had changed.
Suddenly your brothers had mates. One of them even had a son. The house that usually hosted family dinner was changed from the one you were used to live in to a new one. And you now had a mate to celebrate with.
Winter Solstice was all about traditions, so at least that would be the same.
Azriel tried to hide back his worry at your sudden breakdown, but the slightest worry still hit you. That only made things worse.
“We can celebrate on the 24th,” Feyre suggested. “Then you’ll have time to settle in a little bit and we have time to redo most of the traditions.”
The suggestion made you hug her. It sounded perfect.
Tumblr media
“Can you stay awake for just a little longer?” Azriel’s voice pulled your eyes open.
You had spoken to everyone for about an hour before you felt yourself getting more and more exhausted. The adrenaline must have worn off.
Azriel had carried you to one of the guest bedrooms in the River House. Feyre and Rhys had a room for everyone and you could wait to make sure Azriel’s neutral and minimalist room got a small pop of color.
“You should change into other clothes.”
He held out one of his t-shirts for you as well as some shorts. You hadn’t realized how badly you missed sleeping in his clothes.
“Or I can get you some of your old clothes from the apartment,” he suggested, but you almost ripped the clothes out of his hand. No chance you wouldn’t sleep in his clothes.
Azriel did all to make sure you were comfortable. He asked if you wanted him to leave as you got dressed. Or if he should get dressed in the bathroom.
You hadn’t let him be more than five meters away from you. And you had a feeling he didn’t mind that.
You laid down on the bed the second you had changed your clothes. It was so soft. And you could stretch your wings all the way out and still be on the bed. Gods, you had missed that.
“I can sleep in a different bed if you want to sleep with your wings stretched out,” Azriel said. His suggestion almost made you angry.
“Don’t you dare leave me,” you told him.
“I will never, my dearest,” he said.
You folded your wings and he laid down beside you in the bed. He moved so that you were in his arms.
Calm settled over both of you. His shadows covered you like a soft blanket. Sleep found both of you easily.
Tumblr media
As you woke, Azriel sat upright in the bed beside you. His hand was carefully stroking your hair. It just made you want to go back to sleep.
“It’s 4 pm,” Azriel told you.
It made you almost jump up.
“What? Why didn’t you wake me?”
“I did,” he said matter of factly. “Five times.”
You couldn’t remember being woken even once. Azriel laughed at your confused face.
“Want a bath, sleepyhead?”
Azriel had already heated the bath water three times, but he was very willing to do it again.
The warm water on your skin felt so good. It was ages since you had a calming bath. Azriel help you undress and get into the water. He washed your hair and scrubbed your arms and legs.
“Want to clean your wings yourself or should I do it?”
“You can if you’re comfortable with that,” you answered. You longed for the intimacy of him touching your wings.
He was even more careful than usual as he washed over your wings. You stretched them out for him one at a time and leaned your head against his chest. It felt amazing. He made sure not to wash the most sensitive parts, those he only let the water run over.
“Magnificent,” he said and you felt shivers going through your back.
“I love you,” you told him.
“I love you too.”
Tumblr media
It was well past five when you first came out of your room. Azriel was of course right behind you.
Your hands were intertwined as you made the way to the kitchen. You were famished.
Food stood prepared on the table and both Rhys and Feyre sat waiting.
“I can’t believe you’re alive,” Rhys said.
You gave him a small hug before you sat down. On your usual place beside Azriel.
It was so nice, but unusual to sit on a chair made for wings. You leaned back and let out a little sigh.
“Not used to comfortable chairs?” Rhys asked you.
“Not at all.”
Azriel filled your plate with way too much food and sat it down in front of you. He watched you take the first bites before he found food for himself.
It tasted like heaven. Your eyes widened more and more after each bite.
“I refuse to believe you made this,” you told Rhys.
All three of them laughed at your comment.
“It was Elain,” Feyre explained. “She loves cooking.”
“It tastes amazing. Please let her know that.”
You ate together until you were full. The conversation was light.
“What do we need to do to make this Winter Solstice the best one?” Rhys asked and brought a piece of paper.
“We need cookies and hot chocolate,” you said. “And we’ll have to redecorate. Both the house and the tree. I need to get wishlists from all of you. And you guys need to have the snowball fight. And we have to bake at least some gingerbread.”
Rhys wrote down everything in check points. You were so excited to do everything.
Then, a cry was heard.
“Looks like someone’s awake.”
Feyre got up from her chair and left the room. She came back not long after with a winged toddler in her arms.
She walked to you immediately and gave him to you. He looked up at you with big blue eyes that matched her mother, but almost everything else about the child was Rhys.
“Oh, hi,” you said and you felt tears in your eyes for the thousandth time the past few days.
“Nyx, that’s your auntie Y/N,” Rhys said. He was now standing beside Feyre. “Can you say that? ‘Auntie Y/N’?”
“Auntie Y/N,” Nyx said almost pronouncing your name correctly.
“Hi, Nyxie.”
Azriel hand had found your lower back and huge amounts of love filled your body through the bond.
“Do you want to make cookies with me, Nyx?”
The young boy nodded and soon they were baking.
Tumblr media
“How long were you together before she got kidnapped?” Nesta asked him.
After you had eaten dinner, all of you travelt to the House to make cookies and decorate. Cassian had gotten a new tree and everyone had decorated together.
Now, you had fallen asleep once again. Even though you had slept for fourteen hours that night, you still had a lot of sleep to catch up. He didn’t mind. You sleeping meant that you felt safe. He loved that.
“Fifty two years,” he answered. “We were together two years before the mating bond snapped. And then Rhys got stuck under the mountain. We married after ten years and then we mated just after Rhys got home.”
Nesta nodded. She looked over at Cassian a little distantly.
“You look happy. I’m happy for you,” she said and moved to Cassian.
Azriel was happy. The happiest he had ever been. Knowing that you were home and that you were his. He was the luckiest male. And he couldn’t wait to celebrate Winter Solstice with you.

Tumblr media
“Seriously, though,” Angelina said, leaning against the Gryffindor common room sofa with a sly grin, “when are you two finally going to admit it?”
“Admit what?” Fred asked, looking up from the deck of Exploding Snap cards he was shuffling.
“That you’re dating,” George chimed in from across the room, tossing a chocolate frog wrapper into the fire.
You rolled your eyes so hard it almost hurt. “For the hundredth time, we’re not dating.”
“Not yet, at least,” Angelina muttered, smirking at you.
Fred laughed, leaning back in his chair and crossing his arms. “Don’t listen to them. They’re just bored and trying to start drama.”
George snorted. “Says the bloke who can’t go two hours without dragging her off to help with one of his pranks.”
“That’s because she’s got steady hands,” Fred argued, flashing you a grin that made your stomach flip. “Best partner-in-crime I could ask for.”
“Mm-hmm,” George said, exchanging a knowing look with Angelina.
You felt the heat rise in your cheeks but forced a casual laugh. “Exactly. Partners-in-crime. Nothing more.”
Fred’s grin widened, oblivious to the way your voice faltered on the last words.
Later that evening, as you sat in your usual spot in the common room, Fred plopped down beside you, his long legs stretching out in front of him.
George and Angelina had finally left you alone, their laughter about your so-called “relationship” fading into the background.
Fred tossed a bright green bean into the air, catching it in his mouth. “Honestly, they’re relentless. Next thing you know, they’ll be planning our wedding.”
You laughed, shaking your head. “Oh, definitely. George would insist on fireworks during the vows.”
“And Angelina would probably hex the cake to explode in my face,” Fred added, grinning.
“Not that you wouldn’t deserve it,” you teased, nudging him with your shoulder.
Fred gasped dramatically. “Me? Deserve it? Please, I’d be the perfect groom. You, on the other hand…”
You raised an eyebrow. “What about me?”
Fred smirked, leaning back in his chair. “You’d probably spend the entire ceremony arguing with me about the flowers or the seating arrangements.”
“Only because you’d insist on something ridiculous, like having a Quidditch match instead of a reception,” you shot back, laughing.
“See? Proves my point,” Fred said, throwing another bean into his mouth.
You rolled your eyes but couldn’t help the grin tugging at your lips. The conversation was silly, but it sent a pang through your chest all the same. For a moment, you wondered—what if it weren’t so ridiculous? What if you weren’t just friends?
“Guess it’s a good thing we’d never actually be a couple,” you said lightly, testing the waters.
Fred snorted, not catching the slight hesitation in your voice. “You’ve got that right. Can you imagine? We’d probably kill each other within a week.”
Your smile faltered for a split second, but you quickly recovered, laughing along with him. “True. It would be a disaster.”
“An entertaining one, though,” Fred added, grinning at you.
You laughed again, but the ache in your chest lingered as his words played over in your mind. A disaster.
Fred, oblivious, tossed the box of beans onto the table and stretched his arms over his head. “Anyway, who needs all that relationship nonsense? We’re better off just being us.”
“Right,” you said softly, your smile not quite reaching your eyes. “Just us.”
But as you watched Fred lean back, his expression carefree and content, you made a silent decision.
It was time to stop hoping for something that would never happen. It was time to move on.
A couple days later, Fred dropped into the seat next to you in the common room, his typical big grin directed at you. “Fancy sneaking out to the kitchens? I was thinking a snack, but maybe we could even go for a full-course meal if the house-elves are feeling generous.”
You didn’t look up from your book, keeping your voice steady. “Can’t. I’ve got plans tonight.”
Fred tilted his head, frowning. “Plans? With who?”
“Just plans,” you said vaguely, flipping a page.
Fred narrowed his eyes, studying you for a moment, but you didn’t elaborate. Eventually, he shrugged, leaning back in his chair. “Your loss. More food for me.”
You hummed noncommittally, keeping your gaze fixed on the words in front of you.
Later that evening, Fred was sprawled on the sofa near the fire, George and Lee arguing over a card game beside him. Angelina sauntered in, her hair tied back in a loose ponytail.
“Oi, Ang,” Fred called, waving her over. “What’s she up to tonight?”
Angelina raised an eyebrow. “Who?”
“You know who. She said she had plans.”
Angelina hesitated for half a second before smirking. “She’s got a date.”
Fred blinked, the words not registering immediately. “A date?”
“Yeah,” Angelina said, sitting on the arm of the sofa. “With that bloke from Ravenclaw—what’s his name? Aaron? Aiden?”
“Andrew,” George supplied helpfully, grinning.
“Right. Andrew,” Angelina said, crossing her arms. “Apparently, he’s been asking her out for ages, and she finally said yes.”
Fred frowned, a strange tightness forming in his chest. “Huh.”
George glanced at him, raising an eyebrow. “Something wrong, Fred?”
“No,” Fred said quickly, shaking his head. “Why would there be?”
George exchanged a look with Lee, who raised an amused eyebrow. But neither of them said anything, much to Fred’s relief.
Meanwhile you were trying your best to focus on Andrew as he told you about his latest Quidditch practice. He was charming, handsome, and undeniably kind. Exactly the type of person you should be going out with.
But as much as you tried to stay engaged, your mind kept wandering. His laugh wasn’t quite as infectious. His jokes weren’t quite as sharp. And when he leaned in slightly to brush his hand against yours, your chest didn’t flutter the way you wanted it to.
You forced a smile, reminding yourself why you were here. Andrew had always been good to you, and after Fred’s clear rejection, it was time to stop holding onto something that wasn’t going to happen.
“Are you alright?” Andrew asked, his voice soft as he studied your face.
“Yes,” you said quickly, sitting up straighter. “Sorry, just a bit distracted. It’s been a long week.”
Andrew smiled, his eyes warm. “I get it. I’m glad you said yes, though. I’ve been wanting to do this for a while.”
You felt a pang of guilt but managed another smile. “Me too.”
It wasn’t entirely a lie. Andrew deserved a chance, and you were determined to give it to him.
Still, as the evening wore on, you couldn’t help but wonder what Fred was doing. And no matter how hard you tried, you couldn’t shake the thought that you wished he were sitting across from you instead.
You had done your best to steer clear of Fred over the past few days. You weren’t sure why, if someone dared to ask. Maybe you wanted to avoid telling him about your date or maybe talking to Fred would force you to acknowledge that moving on was harder than you thought.
It wasn’t easy, avoiding Fred, considering he had a knack for showing up everywhere you didn’t want him to be.
And, naturally, today was no exception.
“Oi!” Fred’s voice rang out from behind you as you made your way down the hallway after class. “Wait up!”
You considered pretending not to hear him, but the sound of his footsteps catching up told you there was no escaping this time.
“Hey,” he said, falling into step beside you. His usual grin was in place, though there was a flicker of something unreadable in his eyes. “Haven’t seen much of you lately. Been avoiding me or something?”
You gave a half-hearted laugh. “Don’t be ridiculous. Just… busy.”
Fred raised an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced. “Busy with what? Or should I say who?”
Your stomach twisted at the question, but you forced yourself to keep your expression neutral. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Angelina mentioned you went on a date,” Fred said, his tone light and teasing, though his eyes flickered with something you couldn’t quite place. “Figured you’d be too busy swooning over this Andrew bloke to hang out with your real friends.”
You rolled your eyes, gripping the strap of your bag a little tighter. “It was just a date, Fred. No swooning involved.”
Fred tilted his head, studying you. “Come on. Spill. What’s he like? Is he as funny as me? Doubt it.”
You hesitated, your heart hammering as you searched his face for any hint of jealousy, any sign that this conversation bothered him. But Fred’s grin was firmly in place, his tone casual and carefree.
“He’s nice,” you said finally, keeping your voice even. “Really nice.”
Fred’s smile faltered for the briefest of moments before returning. “Nice, huh? That’s a glowing review.”
You shrugged, refusing to meet his eyes. “What else do you want me to say?”
“I dunno,” Fred said, scratching the back of his neck. “Maybe that he’s secretly boring or has terrible taste in music. Something I can mock him for.”
You couldn’t help the small laugh that escaped you, but it quickly faded as the tension in your chest tightened.
Fred shoved his hands into his pockets, glancing at you out of the corner of his eye. “Well, if he’s so bloody great, maybe we should invite him to hang out with us sometime.”
Your head snapped toward him, your eyes narrowing. “Are you serious?”
Fred shrugged, his grin turning lopsided. “Why not? He could use a proper Weasley test. See if he can keep up.”
You shook your head, muttering under your breath. “You’re impossible.”
Fred watched you closely, his grin slipping just enough to reveal the confusion beneath it. He didn’t know why the thought of you with Andrew left a sour taste in his mouth, but he was determined to ignore it.
Maybe it was just because he didn’t know the guy. Or because he didn’t want to lose his favorite partner-in-crime to some bloke from Ravenclaw. That had to be it.
Definitely not because he cared more than he should.
&
The common room buzzed with its usual post-dinner chaos. Fred was in his element, loudly challenging George to an Exploding Snap rematch after a questionable loss earlier, when you walked in with Andrew.
Fred’s laughter faltered for half a second, but he quickly covered it up with a grin. “Well, well, look who decided to join us. Ravenclaw royalty.”
“Hi, Fred,” you said, your voice neutral but carrying an edge of warning.
Andrew smiled politely, clearly unfazed. “Hey. I thought I’d take you up on your offer to hang out.”
“Brave of you,” Fred quipped, gesturing to the chaos around him. “We’re not exactly Ravenclaw standards of refined.”
Andrew chuckled. “I can handle it.”
George appeared beside Fred, grinning broadly. “Andrew, right? You’re the Quidditch guy. Chaser, yeah?”
“That’s me,” Andrew said, looking pleasantly surprised.
“Always nice to have another flyer in the group,” George said, clapping him on the back. “Ignore Fred if he gets too annoying.”
“Oi!” Fred protested, but George was already leading Andrew to the sofa, chatting about brooms and game strategies.
You sighed, crossing your arms. “Play nice,” you muttered as you passed Fred, taking a seat near Angelina and Lee.
Fred watched as Andrew settled into the group, answering questions and laughing at everyone’s jokes with ease. His jaw tightened when Angelina leaned over to whisper, “He’s charming, isn’t he?”
“Sure,” Fred said, his voice flat.
An hour later, everyone seemed to be getting along swimmingly—except Fred.
He wasn’t outright rude to Andrew, but his usual teasing had a sharper edge tonight. Every time Andrew spoke, Fred had a quick quip or an exaggerated eye roll.
When Andrew mentioned his house winning the latest match, Fred chimed in with, “Ravenclaw’s strategy, isn’t it? Win the game, lose the fun.”
George elbowed Fred, but Andrew only laughed. “We take Quidditch seriously. Some of us, at least.”
Fred grinned tightly. “Right. Because fun has no place in sports.”
“Okay,” you interjected, cutting through the growing tension. “Who wants snacks? I’ll get some from the kitchens.”
“I’ll help,” Andrew offered, standing up.
You hesitated, glancing briefly at Fred before nodding. “Sure. Let’s go.”
After you and Andrew left the common room, Fred slumped back into his chair, muttering something under his breath.
“What’s your problem?” George asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Problem? I don’t have a problem,” Fred said quickly.
“Sure you don’t,” Angelina said, smirking as she leaned against the armrest. “You’re only acting like a jealous git.”
Fred scoffed. “Jealous? Please. I just think he’s boring.”
George chuckled. “Yeah, he’s awful. Friendly, charming, loves Quidditch—how dare he?”
Fred scowled but didn’t reply, his gaze fixed on the door you’d just walked through.
When you and Andrew returned, the evening had mostly calmed down. Fred kept to himself, though his eyes followed you whenever you weren’t looking.
As the group began to disband for the night, Andrew turned to you, his smile warm and easy. “I had a great time the other night. Do you think you’d want to do it again? Soon?”
Fred’s head snapped up at Andrew’s words, but he quickly looked away, pretending to fidget with his deck of cards.
You hesitated, your gaze flickering to Fred for just a moment. His usual grin was gone, replaced by a furrowed brow and averted eyes. Ignoring him and the little voice in the back of your mind, you turned back to Andrew.
“Sure,” you said with a smile. “I’d like that.”
Andrew’s grin widened. “Great. I’ll find you tomorrow to figure out the details.”
You nodded, and as Andrew left, you glanced back at Fred one last time. He was shuffling his cards with unnecessary force, avoiding your gaze entirely. Weird.
Over the next couple of weeks, your relationship with Andrew began to take shape. Slowly but surely, he worked his way into your life.
He wasn’t overly pushy or demanding, which you appreciated, and he had a way of making you laugh—though not quite as effortlessly as Fred could.
Still, it felt nice to have someone show genuine interest in you, even if the spark you were hoping for wasn’t quite there yet.
Of course, Andrew didn’t just win you over—he charmed everyone.
“Well, he’s bloody polite,” George said one evening after Andrew left the common room. “And he brought snacks. Can’t argue with that.”
Angelina nodded in agreement. “He’s sweet. You picked a good one.”
“Of course she did,” Fred muttered, slumping lower in his chair.
Lee gave Fred a side-eye. “You alright, mate? You’ve been acting off lately.”
“I’m fine,” Fred said quickly, grabbing a deck of cards and shuffling them with unnecessary vigor. “Why wouldn’t I be?”
Lee raised an eyebrow but didn’t press further.
The thing was, Fred wasn’t fine.
He didn’t know what it was about Andrew that rubbed him the wrong way. Maybe it was how the bloke always seemed to be around now, sitting beside you in the common room or leaning in too close when you laughed at one of his jokes.
Fred told himself it was just the newness of it all. You’d always been his person—his partner-in-crime, his go-to for pranks, his late-night snack accomplice. And now Andrew was stealing you away.
It was irritating.
But Fred wasn’t jealous. Definitely not.
One afternoon, the group decided to head down to the lake to take advantage of the rare sunny weather.
Andrew and George carried the food, Angelina and Lee brought the blankets, and you walked ahead with Fred, your pace slowing as you chatted.
“So,” Fred said casually, kicking a stone along the path, “how’s Prince Charming?”
You gave him a look. “He has a name, you know.”
“Right. Andy.”
“Andrew,” you corrected, rolling your eyes.
“Same thing,” Fred said with a shrug.
You sighed. “He’s fine. Why do you ask?”
“No reason,” Fred said, though his tone was anything but casual. “Just wondering how long he plans to stick around.”
“Why? You planning to scare him off?” you asked, your voice teasing but laced with curiosity.
Fred grinned, though it didn’t quite reach his eyes. “Wouldn’t dream of it.”
Before you could respond, Andrew called your name from behind, jogging to catch up with you.
Fred fell silent, his jaw tightening as Andrew slipped into step beside you, his hand brushing yours as he walked.
By the time you reached the lake, Fred was thoroughly annoyed.
As everyone settled on the blankets, Andrew took the spot beside you, leaning close to whisper something that made you laugh. Fred sat across from you, stabbing at his sandwich with unnecessary force.
“You alright there, Fred?” Angelina asked, nudging him with her foot.
“Fine,” Fred said tightly, taking an aggressive bite.
George smirked. “You know, for someone who doesn’t care, you’re awfully bothered.”
Fred glared at his twin but said nothing.
As the sun began to set, Andrew offered to walk you back to the castle, and you accepted with a smile. Fred watched the two of you leave, his chest tightening as your laughter faded into the distance.
“Mate,” George said, clapping Fred on the shoulder. “You’ve got it bad.”
Fred scowled. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Sure you don’t,” George said with a knowing grin.
If there was one thing Fred Weasley prided himself on, it was his ability to remain unshakable. Cool under pressure. Steady in the face of chaos.
Except, apparently, when Andrew was around.
“I’m just saying,” Fred declared loudly, leaning back in his chair with the kind of dramatic flair that immediately drew everyone’s attention, “no one is that nice. It’s suspicious.”
“Suspicious?” Angelina repeated, raising an eyebrow.
“Absolutely,” Fred said, gesturing wildly as if this were common knowledge. “No one can laugh at every single joke. Even George’s bad ones.”
“Oi!” George protested, though he was grinning. “My jokes are masterpieces.”
Andrew, seated comfortably next to you, chuckled. “I don’t know, George. That one about the Blast-Ended Skrewts last week was a bit of a stretch.”
Fred’s eyes narrowed. “See? Right there. He’s even polite when he’s being critical. Who does that?”
You rolled your eyes, but you couldn’t help the small laugh that escaped you. “Fred, are you really mad because Andrew is nice?”
“I’m not mad!” Fred insisted, though his tone suggested otherwise. “I’m just… observant. He’s too nice. It’s unnatural.”
“Fred,” Lee said, struggling to keep a straight face, “I think you might be allergic to decent human behavior.”
The group erupted in laughter, and for a moment, even you couldn’t hide your amusement. But Fred wasn’t done yet.
“Mark my words,” Fred continued, pointing dramatically at Andrew, “this whole ‘charming and perfect’ act is going to crack one day. And when it does—”
Andrew held up his hands, laughing lightly. “Alright, you’ve got me. I’ll admit it: I burned toast once. Twice, actually. Sometimes I even leave the cap off the toothpaste.”
“Oh, the horror,” Lee said, clutching his chest mockingly. “Fred, are you sure we’re safe in his presence?”
Fred scowled, muttering something under his breath.
You shot him a look, your patience wearing thin. “Fred, if you’re so bothered by something, maybe you should do something about it.”
Fred blinked, caught off guard by the sudden shift in your tone. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
You shrugged, standing to grab a glass of water. “Exactly what it sounds like.”
Fred watched you leave the room, the weight of your words settling uncomfortably in his chest.
“What’s her problem?” he muttered, glancing at the others.
Angelina snorted. “You’re joking, right?”
Fred frowned. “What?”
George exchanged a look with Lee, barely containing his laughter. “Oh, nothing,” George said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “I’m sure it has nothing to do with you acting like a jealous prat every time Andrew breathes in her direction.”
“I’m not jealous!” Fred shot back, his voice a little too loud.
“Sure you’re not,” Lee said, patting him on the shoulder.
Angelina leaned forward, her smirk practically glowing. “Fred, has it ever occurred to you that you’re not mad at Andrew? You’re mad because he’s with her, and you’re not.”
Fred opened his mouth to argue, but no words came out. He shut it again, glaring at the lot of them as they burst into laughter.
“Honestly,” George said, shaking his head. “I’ve seen Blast-Ended Skrewts with more self-awareness.”
Fred groaned, burying his face in his hands. “You’re all useless,” he muttered.
“Hey, we’re just here to point out the obvious,” Lee said with a grin. “The rest is up to you, lover boy.”
&
The Three Broomsticks was warm and bustling with chatter, the kind of lively atmosphere that could distract anyone from their troubles.
Fred leaned back in his chair, nursing a mug of butterbeer, and let the noise wash over him.
It had been weeks since he’d felt this at ease. For once, he wasn’t thinking about Andrew or the way he seemed to occupy every spare moment of your time.
Because, for the first time in a long while, it was just the group—George, Lee, Angelina, you, and him—laughing, joking, and bickering like always. And with you sitting across from him, grinning over the rim of your butterbeer as you teased George about his latest failed prank, Fred felt… content.
Comfortable. Like everything was back to normal.
But then the door to the pub opened, letting in a gust of cold air and a familiar figure.
Fred’s stomach twisted the moment he saw Andrew.
“Hey, everyone,” Andrew said, his smile easy and confident as he approached the table.
Fred tried to focus on his drink, on George cracking a joke, on literally anything else—but then Andrew leaned down, his hand brushing your shoulder, and kissed you.
It wasn’t long, just a brief, casual kiss on the lips, but it might as well have been a Bludger to Fred’s chest.
The laughter at the table carried on, the others welcoming Andrew like they always did, but Fred barely heard a word. His mind was spinning, his heart racing, and for the first time, he couldn’t keep up the denial.
It wasn’t just irritation. It wasn’t just protectiveness.
It was jealousy.
Pure, undeniable jealousy.
And it wasn’t just because Andrew had you—it was because Fred wanted you.
The realization hit him like a brick wall. Every time you laughed at Andrew’s jokes, every time you brushed his hand with yours, every time you smiled at him with that soft, affectionate look in your eyes—it burned.
Because Fred wanted to be the one making you laugh, holding your hand, earning your smiles.
But it wasn’t him. And now, sitting here, watching Andrew slide into the seat beside you, his arm draped casually over the back of your chair, Fred finally understood why it hurt so much.
&
Fred paced the length of the Gryffindor common room like a man possessed, his hands raking through his hair as George, Angelina, and Lee lounged on the sofa, watching with varying degrees of amusement.
“She kissed him,” Fred muttered for the fiftieth time, his voice tinged with both disbelief and frustration.
“Yes, Fred,” Angelina said patiently, not bothering to hide her smirk. “We were all there. You don’t need to recap.”
“But—” Fred turned on his heel, his expression wild. “How did I not see it before? How did none of you tell me?”
George snorted. “Mate, we’ve been dropping hints for years. You’re just thick.”
“Excuse me?” Fred stopped pacing long enough to glare at his twin.
Lee chimed in, grinning. “He’s right, you know. It’s been painfully obvious to everyone but you. Honestly, we were starting to think you’d never figure it out.”
Fred groaned, collapsing into a chair and burying his face in his hands. “What am I supposed to do now? She’s happy with Andrew. I can’t just…” He trailed off, shaking his head.
“You could do nothing,” Angelina suggested, crossing her arms. “Let her be happy. Maybe keep your mouth shut for once in your life.”
Fred glared at her. “Thanks for the support, Ang. Really helpful.”
“I’m just saying,” Angelina continued, shrugging. “If you care about her, maybe you don’t ruin things for her. It’s not about you, Fred.”
George tilted his head. “Or—and hear me out—you could tell her how you feel and let her decide.”
Lee grinned. “Or—and this is my favorite option—you stage an elaborate prank to scare off Andrew, then swoop in as the knight in shining armor.”
Fred groaned again, throwing his head back against the chair. “You’re all useless.”
“Hey, I’m giving you options,” Lee said defensively.
“Yeah,” George added. “And Angelina’s just saying what she’d do if she were you. Personally, I think you should grow a pair and tell her the truth.”
Fred shot him a look. “It’s not that simple.”
“It never is,” Angelina said, her tone softer now. “But you’ve got to figure it out, Fred. Otherwise, you’re just going to keep driving yourself—and the rest of us—mad.”
The sound of the portrait hole opening drew their attention, and there you were, stepping inside with your bag slung over one shoulder and a slight frown on your face.
Fred’s heart skipped a beat, and he immediately sat up straighter, trying to look normal—which, of course, only made him look even more suspicious.
“Everything okay?” you asked, glancing between the group and Fred’s suspiciously guilty expression.
“Fine!” Fred said quickly, his voice a little too loud.
You raised an eyebrow but didn’t push, instead walking over to your usual spot by the fire. You dropped your bag on the floor and pulled out a stack of parchment, rifling through it with a small, frustrated sigh.
Fred couldn’t take his eyes off you. It wasn’t anything special—just you being you—but the way your hair caught the firelight, the tiny furrow in your brow as you concentrated, the way you bit your lip when something didn’t go right…
In that moment, Fred knew.
Knew that no one else would ever make him feel the way you did. Knew that no one else would ever measure up to you. Knew that he couldn’t keep this to himself anymore.
Now he just had to figure out how to tell you.
“Merlin, he’s gone,” George muttered, nudging Angelina. “Look at him.”
Fred ignored them, his mind racing as he tried to think of something—anything—to say. But for once in his life, words failed him.
Fred had never been one to overthink things. Usually, he went with his gut, said whatever was on his mind, and dealt with the consequences later. But when it came to you, every plan he came up with seemed doomed from the start.
The first time he tried, it was on the way to Charms. He’d spotted you walking ahead, your bag slung over one shoulder and your hair bouncing as you moved. His heart did that stupid thing where it sped up, and before he could stop himself, he called your name.
“Hey,” you said, slowing to let him catch up.
“Hey,” he replied, suddenly feeling like his tongue had turned to lead.
You smiled at him, that warm, easy smile that made his chest ache. “What’s up?”
Fred opened his mouth to speak, but before he could say anything, Andrew appeared from the other direction.
“There you are,” Andrew said, grinning as he slipped an arm around your waist.
Fred’s jaw clenched, but he forced a smile. “Right. See you in class,” he mumbled, walking off before either of you could reply.
The second attempt came during a group study session in the library.
Fred had been unusually quiet, his eyes darting to you every few seconds. You were sitting across from him, absently twirling your quill as you read over your notes.
“Hey,” he said suddenly, leaning forward.
You looked up, tilting your head. “Yeah?”
“I—”
“Shh!” Madam Pince hissed from across the room, glaring at Fred like he’d just set one of her precious books on fire.
Fred sighed, leaning back in his chair as George smirked beside him. “Smooth,” George muttered under his breath.
The third time wasn’t even his fault.
He’d waited until you were alone in the common room, curled up in your usual chair by the fire. It was late, and most of the others had gone to bed, leaving the room quiet and cozy.
Fred took a deep breath, running a hand through his hair as he approached. “Hey, can we talk?”
You looked up at him, your expression soft but curious. “Sure. What’s on your mind?”
Fred hesitated, the words hanging on the tip of his tongue. This was it. He just had to say it.
But before he could, Lee burst into the room, laughing loudly about something George had apparently done. The noise startled both of you, and whatever fragile moment had been building between you vanished in an instant.
Fred sighed, watching as you smiled politely at Lee’s antics before heading upstairs to your dorm.
Meanwhile, you couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off.
Andrew was as kind and attentive as ever, but your heart wasn’t fully in it. You caught yourself zoning out during conversations, your mind drifting to memories of late-night laughs and pranks with Fred.
Andrew noticed.
“You’ve been a bit distant lately,” he said one evening as you sat together by the lake. His tone was calm but serious, his eyes searching yours.
“I’m sorry,” you said quickly, though you weren’t sure what you were apologizing for.
Andrew smiled faintly, shaking his head. “We should talk. Really talk.”
You nodded, your stomach twisting with unease and the underlying feeling of already knowing what was about to come.
&
The rain fell steadily, soaking through your cloak and chilling you to the bone, but you didn’t care. After your conversation with Andrew, you’d needed space to think, to feel, to breathe.
That was why you stayed in the same spot he left you in, even when it began to pour.
But tonight, the storm wasn’t just inside.
The sound of footsteps on the dock pulled you from your thoughts, and you turned to see Fred, his red hair plastered to his forehead and water dripping from his clothes.
“What are you doing here?” you asked, your voice carrying over the rain.
Fred shoved his hands into his pockets, looking equal parts frustrated and relieved. “I could ask you the same thing.”
You shrugged, turning your gaze back to the water. “Needed to think.”
Fred hesitated, then stepped closer, the wood creaking under his weight. “And you couldn’t think inside? Where it’s dry?”
You huffed a laugh, though there wasn’t much humor in it. “Guess not.”
An awkward silence stretched between you as the rain continued to fall. Fred shifted on his feet, clearly trying to work up the courage to say something.
He hadn’t planned this, hadn’t thought through what he wanted to say.
“You’re really something, you know that?” he blurted finally, the words spilling out before he could stop them. “You’re out here in the rain, and I’m the idiot who followed you, and… Merlin, I don’t even know where to start.”
You raised an eyebrow, your expression guarded. “Then don’t.”
Fred shook his head. “No, I have to. Because—because you drive me mad. You’re all I can think about, and it’s infuriating because I don’t even know when it started, but it’s just… there. All the time.”
You blinked, caught off guard by the raw honesty in his voice.
“You know, Andrew is… perfect, really. Kind, understanding. Says all the right things. And he’s right. He’s everything I should want.”
Fred’s jaw tightened, but he kept his voice steady. “If he’s so perfect, then why are you out here? With me?”
The words hit like a punch to the gut, and you blinked, suddenly unable to meet his gaze.
“Why, if Andrew’s so perfect, are you standing out here in the rain with me instead of him?” Fred pressed, his voice soft but insistent.
Your chest ached, and before you could stop yourself, the truth spilled out. “Because he’s not you, Fred! He never was.”
Fred stared at you, his breath hitching as your words sank in.
You laughed bitterly, swiping at your wet face. “Andrew is kind and caring and everything I should want. But it doesn’t matter, because he’s not you. And that’s why we ended things. He knows he’s not the one I want to be with.”
Fred didn’t move for a moment, as though your words had stunned him. His wide eyes searched yours, raindrops slipping down his face, mingling with the uncertainty you saw flicker there.
But then, something shifted. Determination sparked in his gaze, and in one swift motion, he stepped forward, closing the distance between you. His hands, rough yet gentle, cupped your face, his thumbs brushing against your rain-damp cheeks.
The kiss came like a thunderclap—fierce, overwhelming, impossible to ignore. His lips claimed yours with a desperation that stole the breath from your lungs, as though this was the only way he could make you understand everything he couldn’t say.
The rain blurred everything around you—the trees, the lake, the world itself—but Fred’s warmth anchored you. His hands trembled slightly against your skin, betraying the vulnerability beneath his boldness.
A soft gasp escaped you as your fingers curled into the fabric of his soaked shirt, pulling him closer instinctively. The rain had drenched you both, but Fred’s heat seeped through the layers, making you feel like nothing else mattered.
His lips moved against yours, earnest and unrelenting, as though he feared you might slip away if he didn’t hold on tightly enough. And yet, there was no demand in his kiss, only a raw, aching need that left you dizzy.
When you finally broke apart, gasping for air, Fred rested his forehead against yours, his breath ragged. His hands stayed on your face, as if letting go would break the fragile moment between you.
“I’m sorry,” he murmured, his voice hoarse but firm, his thumb brushing away the rain—or was it a tear?—from your cheek. “Forgive me?”
The rain continued to fall, cold and relentless, but it didn’t matter. Fred’s eyes searched yours, unguarded and full of something that made your chest ache.
“Always,” you whispered, your voice trembling but resolute.
Fred’s lips curved into the faintest smile before he kissed you again, softer this time but no less consuming.
From a distance, George and Lee watched from the cover of a nearby tree, Angelina holding an umbrella over them with a triumphant smirk.
“Told you,” George said smugly.
“Yeah, yeah,” Lee muttered, crossing his arms, but not before handing George the bag. “I still say it’s weird to bet on your brother’s love life.”
“Not when it’s this predictable,” Angelina chimed in, snatching a Galleon from the bag. “You’re welcome, by the way. I made this happen.”
“You did nothing,” George said, rolling his eyes. “They’re just idiots. Idiots in love.”

the san jose mineta international airport was bustling with people as samy, gabe, and ryan stepped off their gate. the two boys immediately shedded their coats once the humid temperatures hit their skin, especially with how many people shoved their way through—it made it feel hot really fast. samy glanced down at her phone where she texted will that they just landed.
"holy shit it's fucking hot," ryan mumbled, already fanning himself out.
"i told you it would be hot. i think will's outside waiting," the girl informed and began leading the way to the exit. this was only her second time navigating the airport, the first time will managed to get them out so she just hoped she wouldn't get herself lost.
the three were excited for the weekend ahead. after weeks of planning around three hockey players' schedules, the four managed to find a weekend before the craziness of the holidays picked up and world juniors began to visit their old friend in his new stomping grounds. gabe and ryan hadn't been yet, so the two were looking forward to a good game of hockey on saturday and spending the rest of it with their best friend.
luckily, samy was able to easily follow the overhead signs straight towards the exit. it was helpful that they didn't have any bags to pickup and just flew with carry-ons. when the three made it to the already long pickup line, their eyes scanned for will's bronco.
"i see him!" gabe pointed towards a tall blonde and brunette leaning against the car waving their hands. a grin spread across each of their faces as they made their way towards will. he met them in the middle, hugging samy first.
"hi, it's so good to see you here again," the blonde squeezed her torso, a large grin on his features.
"i missed you. it's good to see you too," the brunette hummed and quickly pecked his lips before gabe and ryan started arguing for their turn to hug will.
she stepped aside to let them have their turns, hugging macklin in the meantime. "hey hughesy, long time no see," the younger brunette chuckled.
"back at ya, mack," she ruffled up his hair and caught a glimpse of the other three boys group hugging one another. the sight brought another smile to her lips seeing them reunite and the genuine happiness on their expressions.
"jeez, i can't believe you live here now, smitty. you got it good," ryan patted his shoulder.
"i could get used to the warmth. it's like 40° in boston or something," gabe shared the sentiments and the wide smile on will's lips made samy's heart explode with joy.
"welcome to luxury for the weekend. let's get in before some car honks at me," will pulled everyone back to the car where he helped get everyone's luggage into the back.
"shit, this is fucking nice. you wanna share some of this with us?" ryan patted the side of will's car, admiring how sleek and pristine it looked compared to his mom's suv they all used to drive around in michigan.
"we can split 50/50," the blonde teased.
"you're gonna be living in luxury future mrs. smith," gabe commented as they climbed into the car, samy obviously getting the front while the other three squeezed themselves into the back.
both samy and will's cheeks flushed hearing gabe call her "mrs. smith." she glanced over at her boyfriend who smiled sweetly at her, reaching over to squeeze her hand. hearing mrs. smith sent crazy butterflies through his chest because he could not wait until the day it was finally true.
"ew get a room," macklin called when he watched their exchange and his friend's large blush.
"fuck off," will mumbled earning a joint laughter from everyone. samy just squeezed his hand back telling him she didn't mind the teasing while also shooting a glance back to macklin who just shrugged.
they pulled out of the pickup line, escaping anyone beeping at them to get moving. will got onto the main road and the two boys in the back suddenly became amazed at how summery everything looked still despite it being in the middle of december. the palm trees stood tall and the warmer breeze felt so refreshing on their skin compared to the harsh boston wind on the other side of the country. samy drew her window down so even more breeze could come through and her hair quickly flew back against the seat. will's gaze swept over her figure, a glowing wave of happiness on his features having his girlfriend and best friends in the city he called home for the weekend.
"so what are the plans for this weekend?" ryan wondered.
"well the game's on saturday, but tomorrow we have all day to do whatever you guys want. some of my teammates wanna meet you all. you especially," will nudged his girlfriend's hand.
"me?" she raised her eyebrow.
"you're the talk of the locker room. eklund and bordeleau especially wanna meet you," macklin explained from the back and the youngest hughes' cheeks flushed.
"wow, i'm flattered they wanna meet me," the girl chuckled.
"they gotta make sure the wifey is up to their standards," gabe snickered and nudged her shoulder. she rolled her eyes a bit, wondering where this whole "wife" thing was coming from.
"also the fact that you were a hockey pro in your past life and with your brothers being in town tomorrow they wanna meet all of you guys," macklin added.
it was shaping up to be a very special weekend in the silicon valley. the devils were coming to san jose for the redemption match from a few weeks ago and the sharks were eager to prove themselves to their fans in the sap center on saturday night. having the devils in town meant 3/4 of the hughes siblings were gonna all be together and will couldn't be more excited to have some of his closest people at an arm's length for the first time in awhile. samy, too, was excited to see jack and luke who she hasn't seen since summer ended. it was really gonna feel like a michigan summer for three days.
"hey, wait, can we make a detour to the beach?" ryan quickly spoke up when he caught glimpses of the billboards that had the beaches plastered all over them that made him instantly think of sinking his feet into the warm sand and splashing around in the ocean.
"you wanna go to the beach?" will caught his friend's gaze through the rearview.
"i know it's out of the way but i haven't been to the beach in so long. come on," the brunette encouraged.
"i mean, okay. i don't have my swimsuit or anything, but sure," the blonde chuckled and quickly shifted lanes to take the exit towards santa cruz.
"who cares? we've made you jump into water with your clothes on," ryan laughed and will remembered fondly the time he jumped into someone's pool fully clothed on a dare.
"mind you that was my pool," samy cut in and the boys grinned.
"all the more reason then," will took the exit towards santa cruz.
it added another 45 minutes to the drive, but it was worth when as soon as will parked the car on one of the side roads ryan and gabe were rushing towards the water. will let out a laugh as he let them go ahead. "come on," samy urged, tugging her boyfriend's hand as they followed after them.
with it being december, the sand was the perfect temperate on their feet. it wasn't too hot like it usually would be during the summer where they couldn't even stand on the sand without having shoes on. gabe and ryan's shoes and clothes were lost the closer they got the the water and by the time samy, will, and macklin made it down, the two were splashing each other in nothing but their shorts. a laughed escaped the three's lips watching their friends tackle one another.
"i'll race you guys," samy said as she began stripping herself of her own clothes, not caring about being in her bra and underwear in the middle of the beach. will's eyes went wide when her top came off and her pants quickly followed. he swallowed thickly seeing her in nothing but her underwear. macklin didn't hesitate joining her though.
"last one in is a rotten egg!" macklin exclaimed and ran off ahead.
will quickly snapped out of his slight daze to rid himself of his shirt and pants, racing down behind his girlfriend and macklin. he tried reaching out for samy, but she was faster and made it into the water before will could get his hands on her. he admitted his defeat of being the last one in.
"loser gets splashed!" gabe exclaimed and immediately kicked water in will's direction. the others followed suit and the poor blonde was drenched in seconds.
"okay, okay," he called for them to stop, wiping his face off.
"god, i could live here forever," ryan fell onto his back like a starfish as he floated atop the light waves.
the blonde's gaze fell to samy again and this time he was able to reach her and bring her into his arms. she giggled at his quick affection and the longing look in his eyes he directed at her. "what?" she hummed, flushing as she watched his gaze dip below her face towards the rest of her bare skin and then back up.
"nothing. i'm glad you're here. i love you," will leaned down to kiss the top of her head and squeeze her hip.
"i love you too. can't wait to see you play in your home arena," she brushed some of his now loose, wet curls away from his forehead.
"mhm, i can't wait to see you up in the stands. i've missed seeing you there," it was still a hard adjustment for will to go from having samy at every single one of his games for two years to her not being there at all unless she visited. he always thought she brought him good luck whenever she was there.
"i've missed being there," she lifted herself onto her tiptoes to give a wet kiss to his cheek. the blonde blushed and tugged her even closer into his side like if he let go she'd disappear.
"guys, what did we talk about. no pda around us," macklin teased again and the couple flushed. samy stepped out of her boyfriend's grasp much to his dismay and reluctance to let her go, a small frustrated sigh leaving his lips.
"you get used to it," gabe chuckled, winking towards his friends. "i spent every night listening to them on the phone together last year."
"hey, you got to talk to me everyday," samy argued a bit.
"you're right, i did and i enjoyed getting to say hi to you every night," the dark-haired boy agreed.
the five spent another fifteen minutes splashing around before deciding they should head back or else mrs. marleau would start thinking they got lost on their way back to the house. will managed to find some old towels in the back that everyone dried themselves off with.
"thanks for this, smitty. that was fun," ryan said once they were back in the car.
"of course. glad i could fill your beach desires," the blonde smiled and got them back on the highway towards san jose.
for the rest of the ride back up to the silicon valley, the five filled the car ride with everything that's happened so far. gabe and ryan told stories of all the parties, the girls, the games, and the classes which definitely made will and macklin miss being in boston as college students. the rookies went back and forth talking about san jose so far, but all of it were things already talked about through facetime or over the phone. they started talking about world juniors coming up and ryan's possible captaincy.
"dude, you're totally gonna get it. no doubt about it," macklin added and the others agreed. they knew how hard ryan's worked all year in addition to being alternate for boston this season, there was a really good chance he would make it and gabe would be an alternate.
"don't jinx it guys. they won't announce it for another few weeks," the brunette shook his head a bit while also brushing off the praise because on the inside he was really excited and confident he'd get captain.
"jinx it? it's basically in the bag, lean. you're gonna get it," will laughed and the topic of world juniors got all of them talking about who they thought would win the tournament this year.
the marleau home was about to be completely full this weekend with ten people in the house, but christina and patrick didn't mind. they loved having friendly faces in their space and any friend of will's was a friend of theirs. the boys were excited to talk to patrick about his experience in the nhl knowing he'd have great advice for them whenever they made their transition.
after dropping macklin back off, the four of them were greeted similarly to how samy was greeted when she came three weeks ago. patrick was off the couch and christina came out from the hallway with her boys behind her.
"ryan leonard and gabe petreault, it's great to finally meet you both. i've heard so many good things," patrick hugged each of them.
"we were worried you guys got lost on your way back to the house," christina chuckled.
"no, we just had to make a stop at the beach per ryan's request," will explained and the brunette grinned making the family laugh.
"ah, that makes more sense. i can tell you guys are a bit wet," christina observed the four's damp hair.
"thank you so much for having us this weekend. it's an honor to stay in your home," gabe cut in with a grin, waving a hi to the younger sons.
"of course. our home is your home this weekend. we figured it would work out perfectly since the six of us will be at grandparents tomorrow night into sunday, so we won't be in your way or anything," christina greeted each of them with a hug as well once patrick finished his hellos.
"well, thank you again. we appreciate it a lot," ryan echoed gabe's sentiments.
"you guys play for boston college, right?" brody wondered and the older boys nodded.
"we do. you thinking about going there?" ryan asked and he chuckled when the younger marleau flushed and glanced at his dad like he knew.
"it's whatever you decide, bud," patrick chuckled too and reached over to squeeze his son's shoulder.
"well, if you ever have questions, we're the guys to ask, but you probably already asked smitty all that already," gabe pointed to the blonde behind him who rolled his eyes a bit.
"i'll show you guys where you'll sleep," will motioned towards the stairs to lead everyone to their rooms. the marleau house was huge, so everyone had their own rooms plus two guest rooms. the second one was where gabe and ryan would be sleeping.
"shit, this is nice. you're living the good life here," ryan jumped onto the bed and the mattress sunk in around him.
"i better not hear you guys going at it," gabe teased the couple still lingering in the doorway. ryan snickered but the other two flushed in embarrassment.
"i'll rake that as my cue to leave. i'll let you guys catch up some more," samy quickly laughed off their teasing before disappearing to will's room to put her things down.
will eyed his friends once she was gone while ryan and gabe just shrugged, "what? i guess some things never change," gabe smiled.
"you guys are so immature," the blonde shook his head.
"how've you been though? good? sharks good?" ryan became somewhat serious for a second which always seemed to happen after a good laugh.
"yeah, it's been really good. i mean..it's my dream—our dream?—come true. i love it," will admitted becoming a bit sappy, but the boys smiled wider nonetheless.
"i mean it looks like the dream, man. you're a fucking california star with your new bronco and cool ass mentor to stay with for the season," the brunette got up to rough up his friend's shoulders like any best friend would. gabe shared the sentiments.
"we're proud of you, you know. this is all really great," their words warmed will's heart. he worried a lot that he left boston too soon, but he was glad his old line mates didn't think he made the wrong choice.
"you and hughesy still doing good?" ryan lowered his voice a little.
"yeah, we're good. we've been adjusting well and i'm glad i've gotten to see her so many times already," will nodded.
"good, glad to hear that. we think she's been doing better at managing everything, so don't worry about that. we got her back," the hockey player appreciated hearing his friends say that. he still hated being so far away in times that samy picked herself apart for things that didn't even matter, but he felt better knowing his friends were looking after her and the other guys in michigan when he couldn't.
"thanks, i'm glad you do," the three exchanged heartfelt smiles.
"now, enough of being all sappy and cheesy, i want a grand tour of this city," ryan exclaimed making will laugh.
"you got it, lean. i'll show you guys all my favorite places tomorrow," the blonde let the guys unpack and settle themselves in. he stuck his head back into his room where samy had changed into drier clothes. she smiled seeing her boyfriend.
"hi," she grinned.
"hi, sorry about the teasing. i guess they haven't given it up yet," will laughed, but the girl shook her head.
"please, you should know i don't care anymore. they're funny," samy assured and that made the boy smile. he was glad things like teasing from the guys didn't ever bother her.
now that they were alone, will took that as his opportunity to take her back into his arms. he shuffled closer to her and wrapped his arms around her waist, a bright smile on his features.
"i feel like a really lucky guy with how many times i've been able to see you," will hummed.
"i'm really lucky i get to see you too. i'm glad we made this happen with them. i know you really wanted it to," she pushed some of will's stray curls away again and he flushed under her touch.
"thank you for being so persistent with it and working it out for us. it probably never would've happened if it was just us planning," they shared a heartfelt laugh. it was true. will, ryan, and gabe sucked at planning anything when it came to trying to hang out.
"you're funny, will, but you're welcome. i know i already said this but i'm really looking forward to watching you play tomorrow," her words erupted more butterflies through the boy's chest along with a hot blush from his neck to the tips of his ears.
"wouldn't want it any other way having you guys here," the blonde leaned down to place a better kiss to samy's lips. she reached up to meet him in the middle.
a soft hum escaped will's lips at the feeling of his girlfriend's lips against his. even though they just saw one another three weeks ago, he'd never get tired of kissing her pretty lips and the feeling it created in his body after being apart. samy shifted so her hand was on the back of will's neck pushing him closer. the hockey player tightened his grip on her hip in response, wanting her as close as physically possible.
will began losing himself in the kiss. his other hand tangled in samy's hair not really caring that it was still wet or the fact that he hadn't changed out of his semi damp clothes still. anytime he could get his lips on samy's it was hard to pull him away.
however, a knock pulled them apart. they whipped around and saw ryan and gabe lingering in the doorway that will forgot to close the door to. a large blush spread across both of their faces.
"shit, sorry. maybe we should count how many times we catch you guys in the act," gabe teased.
"what do you want?" will wondered.
"just coming to bother you guys," ryan came further into the room, jumping onto the bed like he did in the other room.
"typical," samy giggled.
"if only all the other guys were here then it'd really feel like a reunion," gabe hummed and a slight frown appeared on will's face. he felt bad that the other guys couldn't make it out, but he knew the marleau's would not have room to house all eight of them.
"maybe when i'm moved back into my own apartment i'll have everyone over," will said.
the guys liked that idea. as much as will was annoyed at them for interrupting his moment with samy again, he liked seeing the happiness on each of their faces as they settled into will's room to spend more time together. it felt like one of those summer days where after a long day on the boat, everyone would crowd into one room to just talk, and considering will probably wouldn't see gabe and ryan until next summer, he decided to enjoy the moment. he joined them on the bed, opening his arms up for samy to climb in next to him. ryan sat on the other side while gabe hung off the end. the two boys were like little kids going their parents' rooms at night to bother them before bed.
everyone was up fairly early the next morning, or early in will's eyes and late in everyone else's because they were still on central and eastern time so it technically wasn't late to samy, ryan, and gabe. the four got an early start knowing they had a lot to do with seeing the city and then catching dinner with jack and luke later when they landed.
of course, will picked up macklin on the way. the younger brunette climbed into the car with a smile. "morning everyone," he cheered.
they rode into the city where samy was already familiar with the strip of shops and tall buildings. will parked on one of the side streets, digging out his credit card to pay for parking before they all took off. samy slipped in faster, her card going through before will could pay. he snapped his gaze towards her.
"baby, you didn't have to pay," he immediately protested as samy grabbed the receipt.
"you paid way too much for me last time so i'm returning the favor," she argued with a little smile.
"you don't have to do that. you know i don't care," will countered but the girl shook her head.
"i love you," she pecked his lips and hurried to catch up with the others.
the five walked up and down the main street where gabe and ryan poked their heads into almost every store. samy had her camera out to catch all the candids that would most definitely make their random contract/photo dump posting.
"do you think i should buy this?" ryan wondered while trying on a pair of sunglasses. they were big and square which took up almost half of his face.
"for sure, lean. you look great," macklin chuckled and the others agreed.
"i'm sure julianne would love them on you," samy teased and the brunette rolled his eyes as he put them back on the rack.
"oh, i think samy should get this," gabe grabbed ahold of a shirt that said "i love #2." will's cheeks flushed but samy quickly grinned.
"wait i should. i can wear it tomorrow night," the girl looked at her boyfriend who was a blushing mess.
"you'll definitely catch the attention with that," ryan teased as well. samy was serious about buying the shirt. she grabbed her size off the rack and went straight to the register while will just tried hiding his face of the deep blush that crept onto it.
he still got hot with blush anytime samy showed up wearing something that told people she was his because if anything, he thought it should be the other way around and people should know he was hers.
"i think we should all buy them. we can twin," gabe went to grab one for himself with ryan quickly following. will just shook his head, but smiled nonetheless.
they continued on once the three of them had their shirts. will showed them all of his favorite spots in the city so far, the places him and macklin went to get lunch, the places their other teammates took them after a good game.
ryan and gabe marveled in the warmth and the beauties of the silicon valley. they looked like dads whenever they pulled their phones out to take pictures of the scenery. will hung back letting his friends take the lead and explore whatever they wanted to. samy eventually dropped back to check in with him where he wrapped his arm around her shoulders.
"you doing good?" she wondered.
"perfect. you?" he asked and the girl nodded.
"same. perfect," they shared a smile and a quick kiss on the cheek. samy's never seen her boyfriend look so weightless like he didn't have any stress on his shoulders or anything. it was probably because hanging out with ryan and gabe was easing any of the anxieties he was feeling about the game tomorrow.
will took a hold of her camera to flip it around. he wanted a selfie of them, using his longer arms to get both of them in frame. the girl smiled widely while will turned to kiss her cheek as he took the picture. when the preview came up on the screen they both grinned.
by the time they finished exploring, it was time to meet luke and jack at the restaurant they discussed beforehand. the brothers were already inside, waving when they caught sight of the group coming in. samy rushed forward to greet her brothers, both of them standing to scoop her into their arms.
"hi squirt. good to see you," jack cheered.
"it's so good to see you guys too," samy smiled.
"wow you already look tan," luke laughed as he noticed his sister's already darker complexion.
"lean, gp, celly, smitty, good to see all of you," jack dapped up each of the boys followed by luke.
"thanks for catching dinner with us," will said, pulling out samy's seat for her as they finally sat down.
"wouldn't ever pass up an opportunity to see our sister. it's crazy we're all here at the same time. i feel like it's summer right now," luke pinched samy's arm where she swatted his hand away.
"i was just saying that. i could get used to this warm weather," ryan laughed.
the boys quickly filled the conversation with hockey which samy expected. it was a good thing she liked it as much as them to talk about it the entire dinner. will's hand stayed on her thigh most of the time as his small reminder to him and herself that he was beside her. neither of them were huge on pda, but the little things liked that were enjoyable because they could still be close without making someone comment on it. the blonde occasionally watched his girlfriend interact with everyone, loving the relationship she had with her brothers and everyone else. she never missed a beat when they poked about hockey or talked about soccer. god, he was so lucky.
when the waiter came back around to ask if checks were going to be separate or all one, will immediately began to speak, but jack beat him to it.
"all one, thanks," the older hughes brother grinned.
"wait, you don't have to pay for us," ryan cut in before anyone could mention it.
"i don't mind. call it our treat," jack nudged luke's arm who nodded.
"jack," samy began but the boy shook his head. he wasn't gonna take any more protests about paying. the two brothers were feeling joyful with it being the holidays soon and paying for everyone's dinner was the least they could do.
"thank you, man. i appreciate it," will said and everyone else echoed his words.
"no problem. maybe this will act as a peace treaty when we beat you again tomorrow," jack always liked starting a little friendly fire. gabe and ryan oohed while will and macklin just shook their heads.
the waiter came back around with the check. jack quickly took out his card and handed it right back to her to ring it up, not even thinking twice. the others smiled.
when everything was fully paid for, everyone said their goodbyes until tomorrow. "see ya tomorrow, squirt. mom said she wanted a picture of all of us at some point, so we'll find you," luke said and the girl nodded.
when everyone got back to the house they were pretty tired from the day so a movie night in was quickly decided. with the marleau family gone for the weekend, they had the entire living room to themselves. samy put on her new shirt and when she came back out of the bathroom, will was blushing from head to toe again. he drank in her entire appearance that was only her new shirt and her little sleep shorts, subconsciously licking his lips.
"you like it?" the brunette giggled when she saw her boyfriend's lustful expression.
"you drive me up the wall," will mumbled, bringing her flush against his chest again.
"do i now?" she taunted a bit making the rookie curse to himself. he latched his lips back onto hers, not being able to control his urge to kiss her.
she reciprocated his actions, opening her mouth further for his tongue to fight its way in. like always, will's hands wandered across her hips—a feeling of possessiveness washing over him knowing she would be wearing this shirt tomorrow in front of all the fans in the arena. will was never one to be jealous or possessive all the time, but sometimes he got these little moments like right now where all he could think about was how proud he was gonna feel when everyone knew jack and luke's little sister was his girlfriend.
"we should get back downstairs," samy mumbled when they pulled apart for a second. both of their chests rose and fell against one another, panting for air.
"they'll be fine without us for twenty minutes," the blonde mumbled, pulling the girl back to his lips in another feverish kiss.
when they did eventually make it downstairs, ryan and gabe gave both of them a look that definitely told the couple they knew. gabe held up five fingers towards ryan and mouthed "you owe me $5 now," because they 100% betted on what was taking will and samy so long to join them.
the sap center was crowded and electric when the three made it inside after will dropped them off around the front. a few fans recognized the trio, immediately wanting autographs or a picture. samy loved taking photos with fans, so she was all for it, especially in their matching "i love #2" shirts.
"let's find our seats," ryan insisted once they were done talking with fans. he led them into the rink where the sharks were warming up. will, who had been looking for them to come in, caught samy's eye and waved her down.
"will wants to see us," she tugged on ryan's arm.
the brunette glanced down at the blonde who was waving them over. they turned around to get themselves down to the floor. will skated up to the open door, lifting his helmet up as he grinned. a few other guys skated after will that wasn't macklin.
"hey, my teammates wanted to say hi. you've been the talk since i mentioned you were coming," the blonde explained and his other teammates lifted up their helmets as well.
"will eklund. that's tom bordeleau. we've heard a lot about you," the older blonde stuck his hand out to shake samy's hand and then gabe and ryan.
"i've heard. nice to meet you guys," samy grinned.
"i like the shirts. didn't know pup had so many fans," tom teased a bit and nudged will's arm who blushed.
"we're his #1 fans if you couldn't tell," the girl giggled.
"oh we can tell. super cool meeting you hughes and gabe and ryan. we'll catch up some more after the game," eklund and bordeleau grinned as they skated back onto the ice.
"i'll see you guys after," will leaned forward to press a quick kiss to samy's lips. he bumped fists with gabe and ryan before skating back on to finish warmups.
ryan led them back to their seats a few rows up behind the glass. the brunette searched for her brothers and found them over by the bench. luke was also looking for his sister in the stands. he found all of them and quickly waved towards the three. they waved back.
"damn, i forgot how crazier this is than college hockey," gabe muttered as he took in the arena's excessive amount of seats and fans lining each one of them.
"it feels the same to me but bigger," ryan said with a chuckle.
"are you gonna end up getting one of those wag jackets?" gabe teased a bit, nudging the girl's arm beside him. she flushed.
"very funny."
"hey, you're gonna be a wifey, so you might as well embrace it," ryan added.
"not anytime soon though. i wanna at least finish college," the girl said.
"you guys are gonna have a huge wedding party. six of us plus your brothers plus whoever else will wants?" all samy did was shake her head not wanting to think that far ahead yet. she wasn't even twenty.
the three made mindless conversation until the lights dimmed and the announcers got ready to introduce the players as they came out of the shark tunnel which was samy's personal favorite of the home games. will skated out first and the three were on their feet screaming his name like crazy. the blonde waved up at them before he slid into line. macklin came out after and they screamed again for the second rookie.
"that's our rookie!!" gabe screamed down to them.
"we love #2!" ryan joined in.
will blushed like crazy hearing them yell for him while getting eyes from the other players. eklund reached over to nudge his shoulder, a knowing smirk on his lips. the devils came out a few minutes later, some devils fans cheering for them but it was mostly boos in the stands.
the game got underway fast once they played the national anthem. will was on the ice with his line first, the lower bowl on their feet screaming and cheering for the white and teal players.
it felt like old times back when they were in the dev program arena or the conte forum and samy was cheering will on as he flew across the ice with the puck. she followed his number 2 with her eyes, cheering when he made a successful pass or received one from his linemate.
"come on smitty!" ryan called, his rowdiness already starting to show.
the youngest hughes bounced between watching her boyfriend and watching her brothers who definitely knew how to push will out of his comfort zone. it helped that they've played together before, but luke and jack were a powerhouse when it came to being on the ice together. they weaved between the sharks like bullets, adding a few pushes and shoves as they went.
"damn, they're fast," gabe mumbled.
"will knows how they play, or at least he knows how luke plays. they're gonna wanna push him out of his comfort zone," samy explained exactly what the two brothers started doing. luke got himself up close and personal to will, trying to get the puck from him without shoving the younger blonde too hard.
the older brunette had the upper hand and took the puck back. he passed back down the ice towards the other goal leaving will to chase after him.
a wash of nostalgia hit samy as she watched her brothers and boyfriend battle it out together. memories from when they were little flashed in her mind of the same image of luke and jack playing against will on the ice. they always used to be a little meaner to the two of them because they wanted them to grow their skill and become meaner as well. samy knew that was what her brothers were trying to do now.
"come on, come on, come on," ryan muttered under his breath wanting will to score a goal. he was getting closer, but the devils were obviously tough players.
both teams went the whole period without scoring. the sharks had definitely stepped it up since their last game and were trying to make the devils work for a point.
"you guys need anything?" ryan wondered during the first intermission. samy and gabe shook their heads.
"okay, well i'm gonna grab a drink. text me if you do end up wanting something," the brunette said and disappeared towards the food court.
"how've you been?" gabe wondered when it was just them. samy snapped her gaze to him, "i'm good. better."
the dark-haired boy smiled, "i'm glad to hear that. talking with your coaches went okay? you started talking to someone?"
"yeah, yeah. coach klein was actually really glad i came and said something to her and she was sorry i felt that way. i talked to my parents more too and we found someone that i can start talking with every other week. it's been good," the girl elaborated. relief flooded gabe hearing that. he'd been really worried about her, so he was glad to hear she was doing a lot better.
"that makes me happy to hear. don't forget we're always a call away too," the boy said and she nodded.
"i know, thanks, g."
ryan returned a few minutes later just before the second period began. he came back with some soda, offering some of it to them even though they said they didn't want any. gabe took a sip and then so did samy, appreciating his offer.
the players were back on the ice minutes later and the heightened energy quickly returned. the three were on their feet again as will zoomed by their section hoping for a goal this period.
luke was the only one on at the moment. he guarded the goal area fiercely, ready to push back against will's advances. samy's gaze constantly flicked between him and her boyfriend, wondering if will would be able to get past him.
macklin was back on the ice so now both rookies were working to score the first goal of the night. samy's eyes darted between all three boys down there rooting for will and mack while also rooting for her brothers. it was always hard when people saw her cheering for one team and then the other seconds later.
the blonde flew around the bend of the rink, avoiding a hit from one of the devils as he passed down to macklin. the brunette took ahold of the puck, deciding to take his chances with shooting. the little puck flew past luke's stick and the goalies right into the back of the net. the air horns blew and samy jumped up in excitement. everyone else on the arena screamed out while the boys quickly celebrated the first goal.
"let's go mack!" gabe cheered. the brunette pumped his fists into the air and then skated towards around the glass to get everyone to cheer for him again.
for the rest of the 2nd period and the 3rd, the sharks stayed at 1 point and the devils didn't score which meant the sharks had their redemption. samy cheered for will and his team while also sympathizing with her brothers' team. ryan led them back towards the front lobby knowing all of the boys probably had a bunch of press to do before they reunited.
samy got caught up with some fans again as they were leaving the arena. ryan and gabe gladly helped take pictures and even get some of their own with the few that recognized them. things started clearing out a bit more after twenty minutes now that it was just wives and other friends waiting for the players to come back out.
will appeared about twenty more minutes later. he was showered and back in his christmas sweater that he walked in wearing over his dress shirt. samy grinned, opening her arms to hug him. the blonde wrapped his arms around her torso, spinning her around slightly.
"congrats on the win, #2. super proud of you," the girl cheered.
"i told you, you were my good luck charm," the blonde kissed the bridge of her nose. he set her down to greet gabe and ryan again.
"awesome game, smitty. you killed it out there," gabe exclaimed. while the boys caught up, jack and luke came into the main lobby, spotting samy.
"hey! we gotta run, but we wanted to grab a photo with you guys before we left," jack hugged his sister first.
"okay, it was good seeing you two. i'll see you again in like a week," the brunette grinned as she hugged luke next.
"yeah, we'll be home," luke smiled.
"we can take your photo if you want," gabe offered to the siblings who appreciated the gesture.
"we want one with all of you too," jack said as they squeezed themselves together. gabe took a few, handing it back so they could examine them.
"awww cute. mom will love that," samy smiled. they found someone to take a photo of all of them and then jack and luke hurried out of the arena to catch their bus back to the hotel.
macklin finally came out from the back with eklund and bordeleau behind him. "hey, we wanted to properly say hi to you guys," the other will explained.
"you guys killed it out there tonight. i was thoroughly impressed," gabe began with a smile.
"thanks man. it was definitely a tough game, but i'm glad we pulled away with a win," tom grinned as well.
"all thanks to this kid," will patted mack's back who flushed.
"hey, it was nothing guys," the younger brunette laughed.
"so we hear you're a national title holder now," eklund nudged samy's arm, turning the conversation to her.
"first national title. it was super cool," the soccer player chuckled, still reeling from all of the excitement that last weekend was.
"damn, w-2 really has it all then doesn't he? the skill, the friends, the girl. i'm kind of jealous," tom brushed up will's hair. the blonde blushed for probably the hundredth time that weekend, watching the way samy's lips lifted into another grin.
he was so in love with her.
"we should probably head out soon, but i'll catch you guys later," the hockey player broke out of his daze knowing it was getting late and everyone was exhausted from the game.
"of course. we'll catch you guys later. it was a pleasure meeting you three," tom nodded towards samy, gabe, and ryan before heading out the side door. will led the way to his car.
it was a fairly silent ride home just because of how tired everyone was and eager to finally lay in bed. they wished macklin a goodnight and then got back on the road towards the marleau house.
"great game again, smitty. see ya in the morning," ryan patted his friend's back before heading upstairs.
"see you guys in the morning," will chuckled. his gaze slid to samy's who raised her eyebrow when they met eyes.
"so what'd you think?" the blonde wondered as the couple lingered downstairs for a few more minutes.
"of what?" the girl wondered.
"everything, i guess?" as samy knew, will always had to make sure he had her approval because he valued her opinion so much. she giggled. "i really liked them. they were nice," she referred to his teammates.
"that's probably the tamest they've ever been," will admitted with a low laugh.
"i could tell. did you tell them to behave or something?" samy leaned back into the couch for a moment. the hockey player quickly joined her.
"i may have said something a few days ago when i said you were coming to visit again."
"i liked them, don't worry. you played really well tonight. i was impressed," the girl told him honestly which burned a smile into the boy's lips.
"luke and jack kind of tore into me, but i expected it. i knew they were trying to push me."
"yeah, i could tell too, but you handled them well," they shared a sweet smile.
"i'm really, really glad you came this weekend. i had a lot of fun. i mean i always have fun whenever we're together," will said again even though he's said this a hundred times already. the girl flushed.
"well you don't have to miss me too hard this time because i'll see you in cape cod for christmas," samy rested her head on will's shoulder even though they probably should've headed upstairs to change and lay in his actual bed. the couch was also just so comfortable.
"i can't wait to be back in massachusetts for a few days," will hummed, leaning his head against hers.
as suspected, they fell asleep like that—will in his suit and samy in her jeans. it wasn't until will woke up three hours later and realized they were still downstairs that he nudged samy awake and helped her upstairs so they could be more comfortable in his bed.
they hardly changed into their pajamas before crashing back onto the bed. samy quickly snuggled into her boyfriend's side where will pulled her so close there wasn't any space left between them. he pecked the top of her head.
"love you," he mumbled sleepily.
"love you, too," samy sighed, sleeping until they needed to be up and back at the airport the next day.

You wave the cigarette smoke away from your face. Brittany giggles and blows another puff your way, sending your irritation spiking as you stand up from the sofa.
“You’re such a child,” you sneer at her. “I hope you get cancer.”
“Hey!” She frowns at you, bubbly laughter dropping off. “What a shitty thing to say to someone.”
“But you’re not someone,” you smile sweetly. “You’re just a dumb bitch.”
Before Brittany can move from the couch, the den mother steps in with a haggard face. She’s nearing her 50’s and her days of putting up with hormonal young women are drawing to a close.
“Now you two, be nice,” she chides, tired eyes moving between you both. “Brittany go pack. Your dad called a few minutes ago saying he’s on his way to pick you up for the airport.”
She stands from the sofa, running a hand through her box blonde hair. “Thank you, Miss Margaret. It’ll be nice to spend the holidays with family, something not all of us have.”
She grins, a nasty showing of her bleached teeth, “Have a lovely holiday, sister.”
“Hope your plane explodes on take off,” you shoot back, listening as Miss Margaret sighs in defeat—both of you watching Brittany disappear around the corner.
“I wish you girls wouldn’t fight like that. It’s so unbecoming,” she pats her pockets, pulling out a peppermint candy, wrapper crinkling when she opens it.
“Well, if she wouldn’t have screwed me over with that Professor, then I wouldn’t have any issues with her.”
Patting your arm, the den mother makes her way back out of the room. “I know, dear. But thankfully, you’ll have a break from her over the holidays.”
Standing next to the tree in the empty living room, you pinch the bridge of your nose, willing yourself not to get a headache. The shrill ring of the landline cuts into your thoughts like a dull knife. Blowing out a breath, you walk into the foyer and pick up the corded receiver.
“Hello, Alpha Beta Theta house.”
Loud breathing comes over the line, like they’ve just finished running a marathon.
“Hello?”
A shuddering groan fills your ear along with a wet squelching noise, making the hair on the back of your neck stand up.
“Is—is anyone there?” You clear your throat.
“Unh, unh,” a masculine voice finally makes a more pronounced noise. “Mmm.”
“You know prank calls can get you in a lot of trouble,” you twist the cord in your fingers, nerves beginning to get the best of you.
A raspy laugh before he speaks. “Bet you have a tight piggy cunt. Little miss uptight bitch.”
Fear and anger burn hot in your chest. “Did Brittany put you up to this? Well, fuck her and fuck you too, you fucking loser.”
You slam the phone down onto the cradle. Clenching your fists at your sides, you want to scream. You want to kick and slap and hit and gouge and—
The shrill ring of the phone has you baring your teeth at it like a feral dog. Snatching it up on the second trill, you bring the receiver up to your face.
“Alpha Beta Theta.”
The words are pulled from your mouth like rotten teeth.
“Don’t hang up on me again, you cunting whore.” The man hisses at you. “I’ll rape all of your holes and then make more to stuff my cock into.”
Sweat beads on the back of your neck along with your palms and under your armpits.
“W-who are you?”
He laughs again. “No one. Now stay on the line.”
The wet sound from earlier picks up, only this time it’s louder. He grunts and you suddenly realize what he’s doing.
Schlick, schlick, schlick.
It’s insane and disgusting—
and yet—
You clench your thighs, clit achy while you listen to this pervert jerk off. He curses under his breath and it makes your nipples stiffen. Gripping the phone in your hand so tightly the plastic creaks, you breathe in shakily. He must hear it cause his noises pick up speed, the wet slide of what has to be his fist around his cock grows louder still.
“Wanna stick my face in your fat piggy cunt, lick those pretty piggy lips and suck on your juicy piggy clit.”
Instead of disgust, arousal pools hot and heavy in your core, panties sticking to your wet pussy. He groans brokenly, words bitten off as you listen to him cum on the other side of the call. Your hand begins to cramp from the grip you have on the receiver, making you swap over to the other ear.
Breathing heavily for a few moments, he sighs out a hum.
“Merry Christmas, cunt.”
Those are his last words as the dial tone blares to life. You sit the phone down and shakily walk back into the living room. Pussy empty and aching, you sink down on the couch cushions.
“Who was that, dearie?”
Miss Margaret stands on the other side of the room in the doorway leading to the kitchen.
“Uh, no one,” you repeat the pervert's answer. “Just a wrong number.”
“Oh, okay.”
She heads back into the kitchen, leaving you alone with your messy thighs and turbulent thoughts.

Imagine... ('the electricity is out, let's keep each other warm')
Bucky Barnes x Plus-size female reader
December Daze Challenge - Day 21 - @the-slumberparty
Warnings: (420w) Established relationship. Very tiny brief mention of anxious thoughts. Fluff. (Mostly implied) smut.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Imagine waking up to a cold bedroom, Bucky still asleep, his warm body snuggled up to your back. Your confusion grows when you notice the harsh silence engulfing the dark room, all signs pointing to the power being out. The weather forecast hadn’t called for any storms or high winds - only below-freezing temperatures - leaving you wondering what happened, your anxious mind starting to race. Bucky wakes with a start at your concerned whisper of his name, his body immediately alert for potential danger, his arm instinctively holding you tighter. When he realizes what woke you, he just as quickly relaxes, his hand returning to its place on your soft thigh, sleepily explaining that a transformer blew a few hours ago. You had managed to sleep through it, but he was instantly woken the moment it happened, having unconsciously felt the shift in the room. After ensuring it wasn’t something nefarious, Bucky resecured the windows of your shared, aging apartment - the insulation leaving a lot to be desired - and went back to sleep, throwing an extra blanket on you just in case. It’s easy to be lulled back to sleep after that, Bucky’s assurances easing your worry, reminding you that you’re always safe with him. You don’t wake again until your bladder is on the verge of exploding, the cold floor and freezing bathroom eliciting several complaints from you, the power still out with no sign of returning any time soon. Bucky handles things a bit better, laughing as he pulls you back under the covers, promising to warm you right back up. Your initial request of keeping the blankets on doesn’t last long, the heat of your tangled bodies driving you to kick off the offending material, a light sheen of sweat starting to cover your flushed skin. Without missing a beat, Bucky rolls you both over, his delighted grin and strong grip on your waist encouraging you to grind on top of him, the contrast of the cool air spreading goosebumps across your skin. His gaze never leaves you, mesmerized by the way your body moves, each roll of your hips causing pleasure to race up his spine. He’s not sure how long he’s going to last, your limited movements more than enough to send him over the edge, the sight of you shuddering and crying out his name overwhelming him. And when your next orgasm triggers his own, he pulls you down into a kiss, already planning more ways to keep you from getting too cold, even after the electricity comes back on.

You're the worst
Tumblr media
Logan Howlett x Fem!Reader
summary: Logan has gone too far this time.
tags: NSFW, hate/disgust, implied cheating, begging, consensual non consent acts, non consensual kissing, hatefuck, physical anger
Trigger warning: coercion, hatef*ck
By the time Logan had gotten home, you were already blowing out the candles. It was the one day you expected him to come home on time, not drag his Neanderthal claws or stop by the bar. Just this one day...
Logan wasn't expecting you to be up at all. He thought he'd be able to sneak by you curled up in bed to take a shower. He stiffened at the sight of you, your head in your hands waiting in boredom.
When you stood, Logan's heart stung at the sight of you in a little black dress. A number that teased just the middle of your thighs, your shoulders bare for your dress to be held up by its tightness around your chest.
He took in your stature, eyes raking down your smooth legs as you tossed the food from two plates into the trash. Logan was enraptured all over again with you, even though your body language was nothing short of scathing.
He pulled out of his head at the moment you smashed one of the plates into the sink, exploding ceramic about the kitchen counter before stamping away in your black chunky heels.
"Fuck," he muttered as you shot daggers at him, watching as you heavy handed the open bottle of wine on the table and snatched it away, making your way to the bedroom.
He dragged his knuckles over his eyes with a grimace, stepping into the apartment and slamming the door after him. "Honey, I'm home."
You flipped him off, putting your lips to the bottle to take a deep swig. Logan looked over to the dining table, dressed up with a tablecloth, roses and candles. He sneered, his heart sinking further.
He'd knew he'd forgotten something, but didn't think of it as the thing. Logan stared after you, deeply exhaling as he braced his hands to the kitchen counter.
You sat on the bed, readying everything you wanted to tell Logan whenever he decided to approach you.
He pushed open the door, glancing over at you before walking to the bathroom. You pushed to your feet, following Logan into the bathroom and shoving his shoulder.
"And where were you all night?" You finally asked.
Logan shrugged his shoulder away, straightening up to glance over his shoulder. He carefully peeled off his jacket, then his shirt and dropped them both on bathroom floor.
"At the bar," Logan offered, sparing a bit of truth.
You stared at his back, your jaw going taut at the uneven decoration of marks on his pristine yet hairy back. They were long, thin and red along his shoulders. They were hatchmarked down his back before half-moon marks were stamped into his sides.
Logan glanced back at you through the mirror, gulping subtly as he rubbed away the lipstick stain on his chest and stomach.
You shoved him again, grabbing his shoulder to turn him around. His hands paused on his pectoral and abs respectively, lazily stashing the bright red smudges from your gaze.
Staring at him, your eyes began to burn and well. Grabbing his jaw aggressively, you snatched his face to the side and took in the bright red hickeys on his body.
You scoffed, throwing his face away from you before turning to leave. It was like he was parading it on purpose, it not even healed to hide evidence.
Logan grabbed your wrist and pulled you into him, folding over you to kiss your neck eagerly.
"Stop, I love you, I love you." His voice was gruff and pleading, his alcoholic breath berating over your shoulder.
His arms curled around your waist, wanting to keep you long enough to coax you down. But you continued to bristle, elbowing into his side and worming out of his hold.
"Fuck you, you're the worst," you gasped, clawing onto the counter then the doorway before finally exiting the bathroom.
Logan stood by for a moment then followed you out to grab your wrist again. He spun you around and grabbed your face, forcing his lips onto yours.
"You're so beautiful," he tried again, kissing you to keep your harsh words at bay.
You reached out to shove him away, but he caught your wrists in his as his hand on your face grazed down to your neck.
You wormed away from his tart mouth, barely escaping another kiss as he trailed his lips down your jaw. His chops brushed against your skin, and you whined at the feeling.
Your stomach was oily and hot, disgusted by this man crawling back to you after what he'd done.
"Fuck you," you spat, trying your hands to get them free.
Logan turned you and pressed you up against the nearest wall, holding your hands above your head as he slotted himself behind you.
"I missed you," he crooned into your neck, his free hand sliding down your back to follow the natural curve of your spine.
"Bullshit!" You screeched, lifting a foot to kick him in the crotch.
He crumbled to his knees with a groan, releasing you. You gathered yourself again, righting your dress by pulling it up. Stepping out of his hold, you scoffed at him.
"Fuck you, Logan. Fuck you!" You yelled, grabbing and tossing the bottle of wine at the wall behind him.
"You did this shit on purpose, I know it." You continued, riled up with anger and disgust. "I know you. You ruin everything good on purpose!"
Logan sat on his haunches, in the remnant of green glass and wine exploded behind him. He lifted his head, glaring at you from under his heavy brow.
He said nothing, only stared further at you, far enough away to take in your full attire. You were previously dressed for romance, but now it felt vengeful.
Logan exhaled, holding a hand out for you. "Sweetheart."
You screeched in distaste, knowing his hands couldn't reach you but stepping back anyways. You stared as he started to claw his way towards you, his raw nails scraping the hardwood floor.
You backed into your nightstand, examining your next exit strategy. Logan bent at your feet, kissing at your open ankles of the shoes. You stamped out of his hold, his hand clamping the back of your calves to climb his kisses further.
His lips were warm, damp as he started to heave unevenly. "Please," he pleaded, his kisses making their way up to the insides of your knees.
You remained cold, holding strong will though your body began to react to him. Logan's hands slithered up your body, caressing the backs of your thighs before sliding under your dress to cup your ass.
You raised your foot to step on his crotch, so ready to squash him down again. However, Logan grabbed your leg, lifting it to sit you on the nightstand.
His lips resumed on your lifted leg, furthering up your inside thigh. Your breath caught, watching frozen as he continued with pushing the skirt of your dress up.
You grabbed at his hair, tugging harshly to pull him off of you. Staring at him, his beautiful brown eyes now dirty and soiled with the tempt of lies. His lips, though once sweet, were disgusting and dry even if they still felt warm on your skin.
The grip on his hair tightened and he bared his teeth at you.
"Get fucking mad at me," he ordered, his voice barely withholding his growl.
"You're pathetic," you spat out; the more you stared, the more you actually wanted to spit on him.
He was turning you off of him with every action, though your body never showed a difference.
"Madder," he gruffed, his nose flaring at you.
Your chest felt hot, your breaths shortened and you actually spat at him. Logan opened his mouth, taking your disgust in a way you weren't expecting. He swallowed it, then planted his lips to your thigh again.
You flinched, your furrowed brows turning down as Logan inched forward. You whined, shutting your eyes, almost ready to let him win.
But as his breath wafted through the mesh of your new lingerie, you regained yourself. You snatched Logan's head out of your dress, smushed his face away before scrambling to the bed. You crawled over it, edging out of Logan's hold.
Just as you felt out of reach, Logan grabbed your ankle and dragged you back. You held at your skirt for it to not ride up and Logan flipped you onto your back.
He pulled you up to sit on the bed, resuming his kneeling before you. "I'm trying to make it up to you."
You seethed, shoving his shoulders away. "There is nothing to make up! I hate you, Logan. I hate you!"
Logan shut you up with another kiss, this time keeping his hands to himself. You peeled back with disgust, your chest heaving ready to sob.
His face was scrunched in upset, every attempt to bring you back to him failing. He rested his forehead to your cheek, his breathing in uneven huffs.
"I don't know why I did it," he finally admitted, shutting his eyes to keep them from welling. "I had a moment of weakness."
You tried to shrug him away, his breath on your shoulder melting at your angst.
"I'm sorry, sweetheart," he said, his voice dropping an notch.
Logan took in your silence, your body unmoving to push him off. He slumped to your lap, wrapping his arms around your waist to soak in your momentary benevolence.
He wasted no time to make things right, nosing under your dress again and wedging your thighs apart with his chin.
You allowed him so with a disgusted look to the sky, awaiting a new wave of willpower before Logan got to you.
However he was quicker, licking at your wet pussy from behind your mesh undies. You succumbed to your elbows, spreading your legs and squeezing your eyes shut to think of a different Logan, a better Logan having his way.
You bit into your bottom lip, trying to not enjoy Logan's tongue as he slid your panties to the side and slipped his tongue into you. You wriggled on the bed, fighting your pleasure though Logan was invested.
He found this to be his redemption, doing his best while caressing your legs. When he parted from you, he expected the signature look of desire from you.
But he was met with a look of disdain. He watched as you turned over, righting on your knees before pulling up your dress.
You'd give this to him, as you had planned at the beginning of the night. Only now it'd end very differently. Logan reached a hand out to caress your back, relax you as he undid his belt with a hand.
When he reached your shoulder, you flinched his hand away. You peeled your panties down quickly and prepared yourself for Logan's girth.
He coaxed his tip against your lips, then pressed into you which made you hide your face in the mattress.
You'd miss how he felt inside you.
Logan slammed his hips into you, grabbing onto your dress. You held at the front of your dress against the mattress, not allowing him anything further.
"I'm sorry, baby, I'm so sorry." He grunted, starting his languid strokes. "You feel so good."
You grimaced at his words, tears tempting the corners of your eyes. Logan admired the natural beauty of your back, wracking his mind with guilt.
What was he thinking? Wronging someone as beautiful as you?
You kept your movements rigid, not giving Logan a spectacle like you usually did. You followed his strokes, meeting his thrusts to speed up the process.
"You feel so much..." He tried, but instantly bit his tongue.
The tinge of his blood dotted his mouth, making him pause in speaking. Whatever he was trying to say it'd come out wrong, he didn't want to push you away.
You were already detached, waiting out Logan until you got your satisfaction. He'd work extra hard for you to forgive him, do everything in his power to undo this night.
But it wouldn't be enough.
You were close, thinking of your best distant fantasy not associated with him. Logan felt himself drifting from you, he bent over to kiss the back of your neck.
You squeezed your eyes shut, holding back your disgust for this man. Though with a sniffle, you'd miss his natural musk.
"Love me again, I'll spend every day making it up to you," Logan whispered against your ear.
He kissed your cheek, down your neck before you cut away to whimper. Your stomach flipped in a new wave, this time at yourself as you came at the utterance of his words.
It was lies. You had to convince yourself so, otherwise you'd fall into the trap of his arms and never leave.
You shoved Logan off of you, sitting up with him rolling onto his back. He expected a new position, your moans of forgiveness while you gave back to him though he didn't deserve it.
But he was met with your bottom lip reddened from biting, pouting, and your eyes watering. Logan's heart dropped from his chest, leaving his limbs cold. He felt his cock shrink by the sight of you, broken and disgusted.
You stood up, wobbling slightly with your heels then went to pack a bag. Logan watched you gather clothes, no longer fighting as he dropped his head back to the bed.
"Baby..." he tried one last time, raising his head as you slung a hefty bag onto your shoulder.
You righted your dress, peeling your panties off and tossing them at Logan's chest before starting for the door.
"Happy Anniversary, Logan."

Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen's betrothed
A/N: Hey, I kind of have not gotten Feyd-Rautha out of my mind so here is a thing about him. (And all the fanfictions including him are always smut, which is fine but I want more sfw stuff too). Also, Dune has occupied like 50 % of my thoughts this year and I have so many thoughts about the Dune-show (:
TW/CW: Reader is basically having a panic attack the whole time, murders, arranged marriage.
Tumblr media
Getting married had never been the most intriguing idea in my mind. But I had to do this. I was born into a great house and getting married to form an alliance with another house was a centuries long inevitable that most young women of the house had to go through.
But getting married to a Harkonnen, particularly to the Na-Baron Feyd Rautha Harkonnen was not something that happens to everyone. But I had been given this role, being his wife, his baroness after his uncle dies at some point.
I sat on the high balcony of the gladiator arena.  Mother and father sat next to me and on the right side of my father sat the Baron and the rest of the family next to him. My family and I had come to Giedi Prime a few days ago when my engagement was announced to me officially. And somewhere below the arena was my future husband ready to come out and fight, show his power to the thousands and thousands of onlookers.
I picked the edges of my nails. The anxiety and stress hadn’t given me a break since the ship had landed on the colorless planet. My heart hadn’t stopped its overwhelming pounding and with a glass of tea in my hand didn’t stop the shaking. Now the black dress I had been given as a gift by my future husband felt restrictive, especially with the metal jewellery that was brought from home as it was a tradition back home.
The wedding had been planned to be in a few days and after that my only family and the only way of life that I had known was going to leave. And then I will be alone, alone on this planet with a husband who had rumours of his sadism floating around the known universe.
I decided to concentrate on my breathing. Not letting the panic override the teachings I had learnt of the Bene Gesserit at home. I let the forced calmness overtake me but even within this state I felt the terror in the back of my consciousness. My eyes glazed over and my sight became unclear but I didn’t mind.
The fighting started as the Na-Baron arrived into the arena and I pushed my years long training past the normal. Feyd-Rautha fought just as well as I had heard. The crowds’ clamour felt like a distant whisper in my state of dissociation. With speed and technique, the future Baron took down his opponents one by one but still clearly showing off the talent he possessed with a blade. The black blood stained the ground but for a reason not known by me didn’t bother me as much as I had expected.
---
The last body fell to the ground dead with his stomach bleeding of blood. The crowd erupted in cheers and I brought myself back to my body in its normal state. My ears rang and as I clapped as did my parents, still clearly disturbed by the cultural change when compared to our home. Father looked like he was ready to retch his previous meals in any second. But I had started to study the Giedi Prime culture as soon as my engagement plans were announced to me. Still, as much as I could learn, I hadn't learnt thousands of years of cultural practices so different from my own, like my parents had expected.
My future husband made few circles around the arena, raising the audiences’ energy if it was anymore possible. His blades were dripping with blood that showed fully black to the eyes of the eager onlookers. The Na-Baron shoved one of his blades to his belt before circling back to the high seats where his family were sitting next to me and my parents.
Without a word from anyone Feyd-Rautha dropped to his knee, raising his bloodied blade above his head as if for our box to see.
Once again, the arena exploded in cheers to the heights I had thought were impossible to achieve.
“He wants you to accept the engagement, girl.” The Baron’s lazy voice brought you to reality from almost a frozen state for not knowing what was happening. This was the first time the Baron had spoken to me at all, not that I had minded at all. The arena fell into an unexpected silence.
I stood up with shaking legs, took a step closer to the edge of the box meeting eyes with my future husband. My hands started to shake and I had to squeeze my hands into fists so I could stop them. I nodded uncertainly to my betrothed below on the white sand.
That tiny nod brought the crowd back to life as Feyd-Rautha rose up before disappearing to the tunnels below the arena where he had come from in the first place. His direction was lost by me. I was too lost in my panic and the work that I needed to do to keep it under my control.
I let out a breath I hadn’t noticed I was holding. I turned back to my high-born parents. My mother had lost all colour from her face and was breathing even harder than I.
“My nephew seems to have taken a liking to you, girl.” The Baron’s laughed before leaving with the rest of the Harkonnen family and servants behind him.
“Maybe this engagement was a mistake...” My mother said in the private llanguage of your great family.
“Do not speak of such things, wife! This is a great accomplishment for our house!” Father declared.
My mother and I both knew not to push the topic any further.
---
I had been given my own massive room at Giedi Prime as well as my own servants that were meant to take care of me even after the wedding. For the first time in my short life my servants wouldn’t report all of my movements to my parents. Now all of my movements would most likely be detailed to my future husband if not to the Baron himself.
On top of the bed was laying one of my gifts from my new home planet. My parents were clear, I needed to acclimate to my new home as fast as possible so, I could please my new family as well as my husband without any home-sickness. At Giedi Prime the clothing didn’t seem to be as meaningful as it had been at home, not that I had anything to complain about. I or my family hadn’t been harmed, I was safe as one could be, I had been told that all that I would want would be given to me without questions, not that I had dared to ask anything.
I felt the fabric between my fingers. It was rough, thick, heavy, opposite of the silks I had gotten used to at home. But I didn’t mind it, maybe it could warm me in this world so unknown to me. I smiled at the thought.
A gentle knock woke me from my light daydreaming of my possible warm future.
“Yes?” I yelled, turning to see one of my servants whose eyes were to the ground. I hadn’t learned their names yet, especially since it felt as if all of them looked so similar. I let go of the fabric, missing the feeling between my fingers.
“The Na-Baron would like to see you...” I wasn’t sure how much it was a question and how much a demand where my own word did not matter in the slightest. So, I chose to nod without much of a pull to either direction.
The servant left without waiting a beat and as she left another figure came to my room. This one's name I did remember. Walking through my door was the Na-Baron Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, my future husband who I was going to be bound to by the imperium's laws.
I straightened my back if anymore possible and tried to keep my sisterhood training in the forefront of my mind.
He looked just as terrifying in front of me as he had looked at the arena knives in his hands and blood on his clothes. His hands were tucked behind his back and left more space between us than was necessitated by the rulings of the imperium.
The door closed behind him.
“It is an honour to meet you, my lord Na-Baron...” I started making sure not to look at him directly, instead lowering my gaze.
“No need for such formalities. We are to be married, after all...” He looked deep in thought when thinking of his next words. “You are to be my wife and the future Baroness after my uncle passes...”
I felt the pressure which was building in the room, the space that I had started to feel was my safe haven.
I wasn’t sure what he wanted me to say to him and with this I simply nodded. Feyd-Rautha seemed content with my answer.
“I have a gift for you...” Feyd-Rautha said as he pulled his hands behind his back. He had a rectangular silver metal box with carvings over it. He took a slow step forward, closer to me. And after seeing I didn’t flee away; he took another step and then another until he was within touching distance of me. I didn’t make a move not wanting to upset the man in front of me.
He handed the box to me and I took it. Right after getting rid of the box, he hid his hands once again behind his back leaving me unsure what he wanted me to do.
“Open it.”
I took a deep breath before opening the box, barely able to do it as my hands shook. I opened it and laid my eyes on the inside. There was a laying a knife, a knife on a deep purple pillow. It was one of those hunting knives. A one that had a curve into it.
I didn’t take my eyes off of it, unsure what would happen if I were to look at the man in front of me. What was the proper response to this?
“It is the same blame I used today at the arena, the one I raised for you...” His voice was rough but quiet as if he were unsure of his own acts and words.
I pulled my eyes off of the knife to face my betrothed.
“Thank you...” I whispered, my voice weak and almost breaking but my response got an approving nod as a response.
“Now, I must see my uncle.”
“Of course...” I closed the box but cradled it in my arms.
With great care he took my hand to his, pressing a momentary kiss on it before letting go and leaving without another word.
I was left in my room alone and there I stood for a while unsure of the passage of time. I looked at the box, the carving clearly old. There were stars, forests, plants, snow, all of it as if woven into a one marvelous picture of human talent and craftsmanship that passed even the metal work of your home planet could not replicate.
“My lady, is something wrong?”
I turned around to the direction of the sound. The servant from before was standing by my door with shaking hands and anxiety pulsing off of her.
“Everything is fine... The Na-Baron gave me a gift, that’s all.” I looked at the box once again and opened it, wanting to remember all of those curves in the knife.
“He gave that to you?” The servant asked as if she needed a confirmation for my words, like she couldn’t believe me so easily.
“Yes? Is there something wrong with that?”
“It is an old tradition, giving a knife to the one marrying to the Harkonnen family...” She raised her eyes, giving herself a moment to look at the knife directly. “It is the same knife he used today at the arena... It shows the devotion to their future partner, that they are ready to kill for their spouse.”
She must have realized that she was telling too much, because her gaze fell back to the floor.
Now I was the one needing confirmation for her words. “He used this knife today...”
I closed the box once again. The servant only nodded before leaving the room seemingly as fast as possible.
I closed my eyes concentrating on my breathing as I let calm waves hit me. I tried to remember, no one had harmed me, even my future husband hadn’t hurt me and was as close to pleasant as most likely possible. Maybe I could survive...
