So I thought this was funny. My cousin lives out in the Midwest, near a mine so their business has people with money to attract, but it's a limited audience and limited supply.

They are running a business with an escape room and a shooting gallery. Both attractions have hand made motorized figures and automations. Think like low grade animatronics and stuff you'd see at a haunted house.

So I saw a post from his wife talking about how hard it is to make good figures and devices, they don't have time, and they're busy with the kids. They get a burst of new business after they make a new escape room but they can't produce new ones fast enough or well enough to keep it at the level to profit. They don't really know arduino and stuff so they're using expensive PLCs. The cousin/husband learned PLCs in mining, but doesn't know you can do the stuff he's, doing with a $15 arduino instead of a $600 PLC.

She had another post about how she was crying because she had been up all night trying to make props, and showed some mangled craft store supplies, and said "I can't do this. God please help me make this business thrive." the picture was like some cut up foam balls and motors. It looked like she'd made a mess of it.

So, not to brag, but I contract in amusement park technology. I've had contracts with Disney Imagineering and Universal Studios, before I went freelance I was an Imagineer. This stuff is literally my field of expertise.

Since I don't have to work all the time anymore and it sounded like a fun project, messaged them both and said I would be glad to come over for a month, along with some parts and equipment and help them upgrade their stuff with new props, show them how to use cheaper electronics, show them how to do 3D printing and silicon molds, and some of the low cost sensors and actuators they could be using. I even said I could give them one of my spare 3D printers. (I have several and I upgraded a few, so like any hobbyist I have some spares.)

I would understand if they didn't like accepting help, wanted to keep it all their own, or just thought it was too big of a favor. But no. They snidely rejected my help (help from an actual Imagineer on their entertainment business) because of my liberal and athiest posts on Facebook.

Let me repeat for emphasis. They prayed for help from God for their amusement business. Then turned down free help from an actual expert in animatronics and amusement show automation, because I don't believe in God or support trump.

It reminds me of that story where God sends the bull to save the drowning guy but he won't take it because God will save him. Only god didn't send me, I was just trying to be nice.
