Genre: Regency Gothic AU
Pairing: EXO x Reader
Summary: A stormy night brought you to the manor in the middle of the woods. Nine strange men occupied its halls. They won't let you leave. A dangerous secret haunts this estate. Learning it might either be your saving grace or it could lead to the last breath you ever take.
Part: 1 I 2 I 3 I 4 I 5
**
Lightning lit up the thin curtains covering the two small windows on either side of the carriage. Thunder rumbled and you felt it deep within your chest. Tugging your silk cloak closer, you closed your eyes and prayed that the driver would get you through the storm. There was no one to comfort you, to reassure you that a little rain and noisy sky wouldn't delay your journey.
Your father had insisted you take your sister or even a friend, but the two day’s journey didn’t  seem consequential enough to need a companion. Besides, what would they have done once you arrived? Your elderly aunt had only asked for you. From what you could decipher from her letter, she needed you to be a companion as she traveled to the southernmost coastal town. Apparently, it was now the ultimate fashion to travel to for the summer. Just the idea of rolling waves made your stomach churn. But what was worse was who else would be there–
The carriage jolted to the right. You spread out your arms, only barely catching yourself from falling to the floor. No sane person would have endured such dangerous weather. This storm had come from nowhere. Skies blue and cloudless as you had ever seen bid you farewell in the late morning. Most of the day's journey had been uneventful. Then the joyful light faded. Thunder shook the walls of the carriage. Rain pounded on the roof. When would you reach the inn? Bile rose up in your throat, burning the sensitive tissue as the carriage continued to rock violently. The horses neighed over the sounds of the storm.
The carriage shifted hard to the left. And kept falling. You slammed into the door, nearly opening it with the force. You didn't know what was happening. The floor was now the wall and the wall the floor. A downward momentum made it impossible to stand. Screams ripped at your throat.
Then it stopped.
The rain continued to pour and the thunder roared on but the carriage was still. Your legs wobbled as you slowly stood. With your palms, you pushed open the door. The thin wooden panel clapped against the outside of the carriage. Immediately you were pounded by the storm. Large drops pelted your face, obscuring your vision. It was dark. You could tell that much. And there were trees. In every direction.
You climbed out of the carriage, calling for the driver. Your feet slipped in the mud, but you managed to keep your balance–for now. The mud was thick and sticky as you trudged to the front of the carriage.
No. No, no, no. Both of the horses were gone. And so was the driver. Somehow, the carriage had fallen down a hill or ravine. With a storm this terrible, you needed to get to higher ground or risk possibly being carried away–or drowning. Clawing and digging your hands and feet into the soaked dirt, you climbed the hard incline back to the road.
Once you could make out the road, you called for the driver again. No answer. He was nowhere to be found. You needed to find shelter. The storm gave no promise of letting up. You wouldn't survive the night in this forest, even if you went back into the carriage. The only choice was to find sanctuary. You stared in the direction you believed you came from. Nothing but trees and darkness. You turned to the other choice. All the same–wait.
There was something... when lightning brightened up the sky. Your heart began banging in your ears. Spires, towers. Not trees. It was some distance away, but it was shelter nonetheless.
With near tears in your eyes, you picked up your skirts–your fingers numb from the cold–and hurried towards the castle that could be your saving grace.
*****
The manor was calm tonight. Odd, considering the amount of bodies roaming around these haunted halls. Only the beautiful storm outside and Chanyeol's sorrowful melody from the piano broke the silence. Jongin had draped himself over one of the arm chairs as he inspected the wine mixture within his goblet. The taste was… adequate. The cellar would need replenishing soon.
In the corner, a rather lax game of cards covered the small, round table. Minseok smirked at his winning hand. The faded wooden chips with bits of white painted around the edges were piling up in front of Yixing, who leaned back carelessly, sure of his next win. Little did either of them know that the youngest among them had a little... trick his sleeve. As the quickest, Sehun had perfected sleight of hand long ago. None had caught him yet.
A fire roared, coaling the usually gray and brown room in flickering orange. With how close he stood near the fireplace, Kyungsoo's silhouette was visible through his loose shirt. He leaned his palms on the mantel and let the warmth of the flames engulf him. Warmth was all they could feel after all these years. It could be an addiction so strong it was tempting to throw himself into the fire.
Junmyeon joined him at the fireplace, leaning his shoulders against the brick. The bite of the edge hardly registered in his mind. Pain of that measure... it was only a ghost that had nearly crossed over.
“Such strong thoughts for a night like this.”
Kyungsoo didn’t look from the fire, but raised a questioning eyebrow in response.
Junmyeon shrugged a single shoulder. “I can’t read minds, but it's obvious you're turning something over more times than a praying rock.”
“It's the same thoughts,” Kyungsoo murmured in his strange, monotone voice. “Always the same thoughts.”
“One day you will have to let it go,” Junmyeon sighed. “This is our existence now. And forever will be.”
“Acceptance of the present doesn’t erase the past.”
“But it does make the present more enjoyable.” The red liquid sloshed against the rim of the goblet as Jongin draped an arm over Kyungsoo’s shoulders. He wore a mischievous smile. A clear indicator of his true intention.
Junmyeon shook his head. “We’re not going out tonight. There’s nothing out and about in this storm.” Hunting in these conditions would wield no trophies. Tomorrow would be a better night.
“Jun’s no fun tonight,” Jongdae teased as he and Baekhyun emerged from the hallway.
“If you want to go out in this mess,” Junmyeon waved towards the front door. “Be my guest. Just don’t you dare get mud on the rug–”
Bang! Bang! Bang!
“Help! Please! Help!”
Nine pairs of eyes snapped to the echoing sound. None moved.
Bang! Bang!
BANG!
One of the double doors burst open and a figure fell to the floor, landing on its knees and palms. It looked up. A flash of lightning illuminated the face.
The face of a beautiful young girl.
*****
Your knees vibrated when they hit the wooden floor. Water fell from your loose hair that clung to your cheeks. The chances of  the door opening when you pushed on the handle had been low–yet the barrier that kept you victim to the storm fell open and you crashed downward with it.
Greeting you in this strange hall were several men, their jaws hanging open in a mirror of your own surprise. More men appeared from a side parlor, curious as to who dared intrude on their evening. One, two, three–you counted nine total. Nine men. This was not ideal–a bit terrifying, really–but you didn't have a choice. The storm raged outside.
"P-please," you stammered past chattering teeth "The st-storm overturn-overturned the carriage.”
The men stayed silent as they exchanged unreadable glances. One raised a questionable brow.
"Jongdae, go run a bath," ordered the man closest to you. One of the shorter residents nodded and disappeared into the darkness that led into the rest of the manor.
That's what this place was. A grand old manor, not a castle. Isolated. When you'd first run through the rusted iron gate, you'd feared it abandoned. A long dormant instinct whispered that you might have been better off if it had been.
The first man approached, each motion slow, deliberate, and hauntingly graceful. He crouched down in front of you and captured your frightened stare. The fear in you began to melt away. He was… beautiful. Obsidian fell over his forehead in gentle waves. His tunic was of a fashion your grandfather would have worn. There was something strange about this man–all of these men. Something... different.
"Let's get you warmed up." He held his hand out and you were up on your feet before you even realized your fingers were resting on his. "Don't worry," he murmured. "You're safe here. My name is Junmyeon."
You nodded, somehow believing him, but unsure if you should. Through your violent chattering, you managed to stammer out your name in response.
Bang!
You jumped at the sudden noise. One of the other men had somehow appeared behind you to shut the door you'd fallen through.
"Thank you, Yixing," the man beside you said. The one named Yixing nodded and then shifted his eyes to you. “Come.” A hand pressed into the space between your shoulder blades and guided you down the hall, leaving a trail of mud in your wake.
The man led you down several halls until you reached an unoccupied bedroom. Red blankets draped the oversized bed. Matching curtains hung limply from the canopy. All of the wood was a dark sort, rich in color but not quite welcoming like other, brighter woods.
Jongdae emerged from another door on the other side of the bedroom. Steam rolled out after him as if it were following him for its next set of orders. “Anything else?” he asked drily.
“No, thank you.”
Jongdae strolled the from the room without a glance either of you and closed the door behind him. Your breath hitched in your throat. The two of you were… alone. It wasn’t appropriate. It was…
You looked to the man still with you, fear causing your heart to pound painful against your chest. You tugged your cloak closer to you, but it was soaked from the rain. Shivers violently raced down your arms and spine. The man didn’t seem to notice as he walked over to the dresser and opened the top drawer. He pulled out a long white cloth.
“These should suffice for tonight.” He held up the cloth for you to see. A nightgown. An old one by the cut of it, though thankfully it hadn’t been devoured by moths or mice. “If you need anything else, don’t hesitate to ask.”
You nodded. “Thank you.”
He visibly suppressed a laugh at your small voice and waved you into the adjoining bathroom. Taking the nightgown, you tried your best to avoid his gaze. You scurried inside and shut the door.
*****
Junmyeon smirked at your mousy state. It was understandable why you were so frightened. The women of this period were warned of being alone with a man. And now you were alone with nine.
Nine very dangerous men.
The proper action for him to take was to leave your room now that you were safe inside the bathroom, but his feet didn’t move. Somehow, the storm had stranded you in their forest. What had happened to the driver, he wondered. Surely a gentlewoman such as yourself was not controlling the carriage. And yet, you were all alone. Circumstances were… ideal.
A small hiss echoed in the bathroom. It stretched out, along with the sound of sloshing water. Junmyeon frowned.
Hm.
He stood there for a few minutes more, listening to you sigh as your skin grew used to the scalding water. The sound of soap scraping against skin reached his ears, followed by more sloshing water. Soon, you would be getting out of the tub. Time to leave.
He emerged from the bedroom, careful to close the door as quietly as possible. Everyone had gathered out in the hallway since they were too curious about their visitor to go about their night. Junmyeon found Jongdae blending in with the cluster. He glared at him as he hissed, "The water was too hot."
Jongdae merely shrugged. Why would he care about water possibly being too hot? It would never hurt him.
On the opposite end of the group, Yixing cleared his throat. "What are we going to do with her?"
Junmyeon glanced at the door behind him. There was only one best option, for all their sakes. "Tomorrow morning, we will send her on her way."
The eruption was instant.
“Enough!”
In an instant, the hissing ceased.
Baekhyun huffed and folded his arms against his chest, collapsing against the wall. Jongin scoffed. "Such a waste."
“A waste that will keep this household from tearing itself apart,” Junmyeoun countered. It was an outcome none of them wanted. No one wanted to cause a fight, but resisting was difficult. The temptation was great. The quicker you left, the better off they would all be.
"Do you really think it’ll end so well?" Minseok’s mocking comment hung in the air. Silent agreements rippled through the air.
Junmyeon looked to Kyungsoo, whose answer was to look away. "No one touches her," he ordered. They all would try, he knew. But their strength would only get them so far. He stared down a few of them especially, so they knew he meant it.
Sehun pushed off the wall with a roll of his eyes. "Just get her out of here so I can get some peace."
Junmyeon started to call after him but was interrupted by a soft thud from the room behind him. Confused, he opened the door to find you lying on the floor.

In the end, Jemma’s location spell does the trick. Well, kind of. The enchantment leads you through paranormal markets under the city, finding the right people to interrogate. It turns out vampires have few friends in your city. People who seek out vampires are either signing their own death warrant or ready to stake a few of the arrogant bloodsuckers.
Either way, it wasn’t anyone else’s business. One lead turns into a dead end. Another has no substantial foundation. Yet another tries to extort money and goods out of you, which led to Jemma actually turning that informant into a toad. With each new bit of information, you’re all led further and further out of the city.
Eventually, weeks after Tabaeus left, a tip finally strikes solid and true.
Two states away from home, you sit in a rental car with Jemma, Ewan, Liuva and Bjarka at a late-night diner. Despite the time of night and the fact the building is shuttered up, the mall across the way from the diner is seemingly popular.
Even when you ask the waitress - Tess, she/her - if there’s an event going on over at the mall, she shoots you a puzzled look. When her eyes flick up to the window, you spot a glaze tinting her gaze as she informs you, “Nothing’s supposed to be happening over there. The old mall is about as dead as it ever is.”
Even as the waitress stares, you watch one group head into the allegedly abandoned building as others leave. Some are elegant, others are crude and punkish. Yet it seems Tess does not see or notice them.
As the waitress falls into her rehearsed spiel, you share a look with Ewan and Jemma. Tess doesn’t seem to acknowledge the dense air settling around your group as you all realize she - and likely the rest of the diner’s staff - is under some vampiric sway. You push the discomfort away before ordering.
Something burns in your chest. Tabaeus has to be nearby. This feels like the right place, but you have no reason beyond the smoldering in your chest. You never felt like this with any other lead before. Or maybe you’re just tired of searching, sick of getting your hopes up.
After you’ve finished your meal - saying nothing further of the mall to the staff - the three of you trudge to the parking lot.
“What’s the plan?” Ewan takes out his phone, swiping through random apps. It’s only when he points vaguely toward the highway that you realize he’s putting on a front for anyone potentially spying on you. His green eyes tilt toward you, uncharacteristic seriousness making his words sobering, “Are we heading in now or biding time?”
“We should bust in, magic blazing.” From the backseat, Jemma leans forward, her own phone in hand. She, too, has taken up Ewan’s ruse.
Unlike the other two, you don’t bother with a phone. Shaking your head, you fight the urge to flick your gaze back toward the mall. “I think we should be subtle.”
Silence settles over the car as Jemma and Ewan continue to look at their phones, their hands, you. Anywhere but directly at the mall. If anyone watched your little crew, they’d believe it wasn’t even on your radar, you think.
Finally, something glints in Jemma’s eyes as she meets your gaze, raising her eyebrows. “Don’t malls usually have skylights or vents on the roof?”
“They’ll hear us coming.” Another shake of your head. Besides, how would the three of you get up there without causing a commotion?
Ewan nods to the back where the imps-turned-sugar gliders sit with ethereal intelligence gleaming in their eyes. The two have been silent as potential plans have bounced around the car. Upon them being noticed, Bjarka and Liuvia exchange a look. Wordless communication flies between them until Bjarka nods and says, “We will do it for a pie.”
You frown at their little demand. “I thought you wanted Tabaeus back.”
“We do,” Liuvia says, but they smile in a way that reminds you they are supernatural, “But we also want pie. A strawberry rhubarb one.”
With a heavy sigh, you glance from the imps to Jemma and Ewan. They both return your look with mild amusement and shrug.
“Ugh fine,” you sigh as you open your door. “You could’ve said something when we were still inside.”
“You didn’t ask,” chirrups one of the imps, though you’re not sure which as the door closes. You trek back to the diner, still fighting the urge to look toward the mall. Despite your efforts to remain realistic, you can’t help but feel a little lighter. As if you were one step closer to a conclusion.
It’s early morning, just as the sun half climbs above the horizon line, when you decide to put your plan into action. Through a scrying mirror conjured up by Jemma, you watch as Bjarka and Liuvia embark toward the mall from the nearby woods you deposited them in the night previous. The two dart along the dwindling shadows as dawn rises. As squirrels, they easily scale the building and prance along the roof with light steps. They duck and bounce around, taking stock of their options as far as vents, grates, and skylights go.
As the imps decide their next course of action, the rest of you wait. Liuvia and Bjarka eventually pry a grate off a vent and clatter into the metal tunnel. The image on the mirror follows as they scurry through the twisty ventilation. The motion and lighting makes your stomach cramp, so you turn away.
You sit in the backseat with Jemma, who continues to watch the mirror, eyebrows furrowed. In the front, Ewan drives. Last night, after leaving the imps behind, the rest of you drove off and found a clearing to hunker down in for the night. Sleep hadn’t been easy and, now, exhaustion battles in your veins with mounting adrenaline as you near the mall again.
Your plan banks on the fact Lachlan and Tabaeus are different - older, stronger, more powerful - than the average vampire. That should make walking into the mall-turned-vampire-nest easier. Well, as long as Bjarka and Liuvia managed to unlock a door for you.
As Ewan pulls the car into the mall’s parking lot and settles the car in a spot close to the door, he turns to Jemma. “How’re the smallfries doing?”
“They can see us and they’re unlocking the door now,” Jemma answers and, with a wave of her hand, the scrying mirror fizzles off. She’s already climbing out of the car, stowing the mirror in her bag. Despite long conversations last night, Ewan and yourself weren’t able to dissuade the witch from coming along.
“Ready?” Ewan pops his door open, though he’s still turned toward you. Concern etches into his features, as if he’s on the brink of saying you didn’t have to come along. He could handle this, he could save Tabaeus in your place.
But he can’t. Something in you knows this. With a swallow, you nod and open your own door.
The trek into the mall is short and blessedly uneventful. There don’t appear to be any vampiric thralls or familiars standing guard. Perhaps it is hubris on Lachlan’s part, but you don’t dismiss the possibilities of guards or problems deeper inside the building.
Liuvia and Bjarka hitch a ride in Jemma’s bag as Ewan leads your group, with you smack in the middle. He tilts his face up, nose twitching. The barest of a transformation touches Ewan’s features. Some thicker hair, a slew of stubble, the vaguest shift of a nose becoming a snout. He’s delaying the transformation to keep the vampires from sensing him, but you’re sure he’s nervous.
Hell, you’re nervous. You strain to hear the smallest sound, nearly holding your breath the farther you wander into the mall. For the most part, it’s silent. You don’t see or sense anyone else around, other than your group. Though that’s not saying much, considering you’re just a human. With a glance to Jemma, then to Ewan, you confirm nothing seems immediately suspicious.
Though their features are pinched as they focus, neither says or indicates a danger is nearby.
Faintly, you wonder how long he can hold a semi-shift as your eyes take in the corridor. Illumination surprisingly spills in from the sunlights. The stores appear chained and locked, the windows blacked out. Squinting at the locks and darkness, you wonder if there’s more beyond. Is each store a vampire’s personal territory? Is it like a hotel here? Or are they all lower in the building?
All five of you remain as silent as possible as you journey deeper and deeper. Past stores, through the food court, to a stairwell. Jemma conjures up a ball of light without further instruction, lighting the stairs. The aesthetic of the mall holds firm with tiled walls as you descend to the underground section of the mall. A vague chill creeps along your limbs, realizing you’re now underground.
Apparently, the basement is still a commercial area, you realized as the stairs open up to another floor of storefronts. Here, however, the stores are larger and, if you squint, you realize there’s faded signs like ‘bowling alley’ and ‘community development’ hanging over the entryways. No light manages to filter this far down, though. You try not to think about that as you follow Ewan, who keeps close to the walls.
Along with the faint chill, the silence of the area weighs heavily in your ears. It’s too quiet, even as your group scuttles over the expanse of tiled floor.
Quickly enough, you’re led down a slightly obscured hall, before Ewan finds another door. Pushing it open reveals a second set of stairs. This time, the stairwell feels industrial. There’s no happy white-and-blue tiled designs. Just stark metal and industrial grey that devolves into shadows as you peer down into the stairwell.
There’s a brief moment when you look at Ewan and Jemma. Their gaze seeks yours as well, checking to see if you’re still determined to continue. As one, the three of you nod. Jemma hoists the light a fraction higher and it glows a little more intently as you all descend.
The atmosphere grows colder, now raking across any bare skin. Dankness tinges the air as you notice thick gatherings of cobwebs and dead rats on the stairs. Eventually, you come to a landing that leads to a heavy door. The air is locked in your lungs as Ewan slowly shoulders the door open, obscuring your view as he peers around the other side.
After a beat, he opens the door further and the scent of damp and mildew overpowers the air around you. You choke down a cough as Ewan motions for you to follow him into a darkened hall.
If possible, it’s even harder to discern your surroundings now as you follow the werewolf. The shadows seem deeper, darker, more dangerous. The chill in the air bites at your throat. From the light of Jemma’s magic orb, your gaze follows various pipes and catches on rusted, industrial machinery. You have no clue what this all is. Elevator and escalator mechanisms? Gas piping for the food court? Long-abandoned generators?
Whatever is down here, you feel the vague sensation of continuing to go downward, on a gentle slope.
A startle rocks through you as you freeze, hearing something skitter on the concrete floor and echo in the distance. The other two pause. In the span of a breath, fur sprouts from Ewan and his face elongates further, his limbs and muscles growing. A crackle of energy hisses behind you, but you can’t bring yourself to turn and see what Jemma has conjured.
A low rumble of a growl catches in Ewan’s throat as you all wait.
Nothing and no one makes itself known. Slowly, you all carry on in the darkness.
You’re not sure how far you walk when Ewan stops and turns suddenly. You follow as he stalks down an adjacent hall - one you barely even saw - and stops at a wrought-iron door. This time, he doesn’t look at you and Jemma.
Ewan reaches for the large handle, yanking it open so fast your heart trips.
Soft, warm light spills over you from the room on the other side of the door. Rapidly, you blink to dispel the blots of blurry color. The room slowly takes shape in front of your eyes.
Lanterns hang around a large circular room, glowing low and vague. The room is as industrial as the rest of the underground hell, with large pipes and metal and machines. At odds with the metal, however, are mountains of cushions and fabrics draped haphazardly around the room. The pillows and fabrics - of all colors and styles and sheerness levels - bring some color to the deary grey, but somehow that makes the room worse. It sends agitation scraping down your spine.
Then your gaze lights on Tabaeus.
They are chained to a hulking system of pipes, lounging on a smaller hill of pillows. They’re naked, covered only in bruises and fresh bite marks. Their head lolls back, their hair a tangled waterfall. Your heart cracks at the sight, the rest of the world melting away as you step closer to them.
“You’re free to try and take Tabaeus, but… Well, they likely won’t go. This is what they know, this is home.” Lachlan’s voice shocks you from your thoughts. Your attention jerks to Ewan and Jemma, both looking as startled as you feel. Their attention doesn’t snap to the door you just entered from - nor any other dark crevice on your level.
No, you realize their attention is tilted upward. You follow the angle of their gazes and dread curdles in your guts. Lachlan is positioned overhead, on some sort of walkway that snakes through the pipes. He sits on a railing, draped in a way that screams egotistical ease and surety. Others linger behind him, ranging in muted hues and wearing clothing from an array of eras. More pallid vampires start to poke their attention out from the dark shadows of the room, all watching you with red eyes.
Mounting dismay fills your chest before you see Lachlan’s smile twists into something smug. In an instant, rage flares in your chest. Your hands fist at your sides, your shoulders straightening as you glare up at Lachlan. Somehow, through the sick sensations in your stomach, you manage to bite out, “Let Tabaeus be the judge of that.”
Lachlan’s answering chuckle makes your blood boil as he languidly motions toward Tabaeus. “Be my guest.”

part 2 can be found here
Tomorrow was a special day, a day that you longed so earnestly for. Prince Jongin would be visiting again and with the amount of times he’s come over, a proposal was definitely underway. Jongin was a dream come true, the epitome of the “perfect husband". He possessed qualities that one could only ask for while on their knees. From his looks to his status, he was desired by many, yet his heart only yearned for you. It made you blush just to think about everything and how much of a blessing it truly was. The man was gorgeous, from his sun kissed tanned skin, to his tall frame and toned body.
But his physical appearance had nothing to do with why you fell head over heels for him. He was kind, sweet and gentle, something that most suitors only faked while courting their potential spouse. You’ve heard the stories and how many women lost the love for their husbands within the first couple months of marriage only to be stuck with bearing their children until death did them part. That wouldn’t be you though because that wasn’t Jongin--he was different. His personality was genuine and it was apparent from head to toe.
3 months in total counted for the amount of days that he’s visited which was considered standard courting practice for your time period. Your parents loved him and your heart skipped a beat whenever he was close. You wanted no one but him and you knew he felt the same about you. The time drifted by way too slowly and as you lay awake on your bed, your mind ran at 100 miles per minute. Scenario after scenario about how tomorrow would go kept you occupied until your mind finally relaxed enough for you to drift off to sleep.
“Wake up...wake up! It’s half past eleven!”
The sun shined brightly through the window across from you, violently pulling your heavy lids open. Your body tries to coast back into its peaceful slumber, but the person shaking you vetoed your plans. Your eyes once again opening to find said person extremely close to your face, making you immediately sit up as if you were already fully awake. It was Vivian, your servant, but you didn’t like to call her that because she was much closer to you than someone who would do whatever because of your superiority over them.
You were an only child, so she has been the only one around your age for as long as you could remember. She’s the daughter of a previous servant that once lived here but she died before you or Vivian were older than newborns and your parents were kind enough to let her stay instead of leaving her in the hands of an orphanage. You pitied her but she hated when you did so you tried not to show it, but you knew how hard it must have been without a mother. She never admitted it but your family is the only she’s ever really known so she didn’t know what to miss.
“Hurry, you have about 30 minutes before he gets here and you still haven’t bathed!” she says as she tugs at your arm, slightly pulling you off the bed. As much as you thought about him last night, you almost forgot who was coming today. You rushed off into the bathroom, where Vivian already had your bath set. She made sure to add some rose petals to your water, ensuring that your smell would linger every time you passed the prince by.
She left the bathroom after making sure everything was just right to give you some privacy. The bath relaxed you, maybe a little too much and the moment you stumbled into dreamland for the second time this morning, there was a knock at the door. Vivian came rushing in, towels in hand.
“He’s here! Get out right now, you still have to get dressed! And why are you so tired?!”
"I stayed up all night thinking about today, I couldn't help it!" you pouted as you reluctantly stepped out of the tub.
She shook her head while chuckling and pushed you out the bathroom door.
Your heart beat so fast it felt as though it would break through your rib cage at any moment. You both quickly rushed into your room, ready to choose the perfect outfit for today. Being aware of his love for soft colors, you opted for a powder blue peasant cut dress and white corset. You styled your long black tresses in a half up half down style with curtain bangs. The accessories were simple; dangling pearl earrings and a pearl hairpin to match. You weren’t one to wear makeup, but today being the special day that it is, powder set your face and a rose balm on your lips complimented your slightly tanned skin. You stood from your place at your marble vanity and did a small twirl for Vivian to assess the final look. Before she could speak, there was a knock on your door.
“Princess, please come down to the main hall and greet Prince Jongin, he has arrived.” The familiar voice of the butler spoke on the other end of the door. The anxiety began to swell when everything set in but you couldn’t let your emotions get the best of you. Feeling anxious was pointless anyway because you’ve met with Prince Jongin multiple times, but for some reason there was suddenly a heaviness in the air that made your stomach churn. She gives you a nod of approval and you both make your way out the door to head downstairs to greet your guest.
As you walk down the imperial staircase, you see two faces; one familiar and the other not so much. You curtsy in front of Jongin and he takes your hand in his, placing a small kiss on the back.
“It’s a pleasure to see you again Princess. You look gorgeous as always.” he says smiling.
You return his smile and compliments but can’t help letting your gaze fall on the unfamiliar man standing feet apart from him. There was something in the way he stood, something in the way he looked, something you couldn’t put your finger on, but there was something off about him.
“Oh yes, please excuse my manners. Allow me to introduce you to my servant, Kyungsoo. A man of few words, but loyal nonetheless. You shall be seeing him a lot more often I hope?” he says insinuating that you accept his proposal; one which you’d be stupid to refuse.
Kyungsoo bows and makes his way over. Studying the man in front of you, he’s clad in a white blouse, the first three buttons unsecured so a small amount of the skin on his chest shone like the moon peaking out from the clouds. Black slacks, black dress shoes and then three dainty gold necklaces don his neck. His hair was also black, tousled perfectly in an elegant manner. A handsome man indeed, you had to admit, and the sense of mystery surrounding him had you staring for a lot longer than you’d have liked.
He stared back awaiting your move so he may properly greet you, yet here you were stuck, trapped and falling into his deep black orbs. There was a feeling there, something different from when you looked at Jongin. Like the pair whose love was forbidden yet the two couldn’t stay apart. The love could not be portrayed in plain sight but the tension between the two created a impenetrable force field.
Vivian clears her throat next to you which snaps you out of your thoughts. You curtsy and offer your hand to him who gently takes your hand in his. He also places a small kiss on the back, yet he doesn’t break eye contact. The small action making your breath get caught in the back of your throat.
With him being so close, you could smell the fragrance that wafted your way. It was breathtaking, like nothing you’ve ever smelled before. It was so perfect that it seemed to come from his pores, pheromones clouding and intoxicating your judgement.
“The king said he would be waiting for us. We should not keep him any longer.”
The statement from Jongin makes you avert your eyes from Kyungsoo and he removes his lips from your hand. He made your knees like jelly and your heart race a marathon. Your guard was down and you allowed yourself to fall prey to the subtle seduction.
Lunch in the banquet went quite well. Laughs, clinking wine glasses and cutlery colliding with the china filled the large space. Every once in a while those sounds were replaced with sips, breaths and sighs. You caught Jongin stealing a few glances your way when you moved to tuck your bangs behind your ear, making you blush every time. In the meantime, this is what kept your head on straight and you had almost forgot he brought his servant along, until he came in with Vivian to announce that dessert would be served shortly.
Having Kyungsoo in your presence made your posture straighter, if that was even possible. Everything about him made the hairs on the back of your neck erect. You shakily reach for the wine glass in front of you and knock it over, the red liquid spilling onto your dress. You gasp and quickly stand up from your chair and dab the area with the spare cloth from the table. You look up to see all eyes on you and you mentally slap yourself for the embarrassing act.
"Are you okay Princess?" Jongin asks, walking up to you with a fresh cloth.
“Yes, thank you. I must excuse myself, I would hate for my suitor to see me in such a messy manner.”
“Please, do not worry about such trivial things. I will be here when you return so please take your time.”
You smiled and bowed your head before heading toward the exit, Kyungsoo’s eyes never leaving your form. It made your body shudder. For what reason did Jongin bring him along? He was usually by himself but this time he brought his plus one. Was he to act as a test for your loyalty? You would have to keep your eyes on any tricks that he may try to play, you would hate for the prince to back out on the proposal because you couldn’t contain your newfound lust for his servant.
By the time you finished changing into something that wasn’t stained with wine, it was announced that lunch would be ending early. It felt like your fault even though you knew there must have been another reason. Dessert was the only part of the meal that would be missed so it was not that big of a deal.
You searched around for Jongin only to find that he was with your father in his study. A guard blocked the door and informed you that their conversation was important and the king ordered they were to not be disturbed. You thanked him for the information and tried to contain the giddiness you felt rising in your chest. They could only be talking about one thing and you hoped you were right. As you turned on your heels to leave, the guard cleared his throat.
“You did not hear this from me, but Prince Jongin will be staying with us until Sunday.”
Although surprising, it was a logical decision since the journey back for him was quite long and the day was almost over. By the time dinner came around, he had excused himself and settled for a nap instead, further confirming the trip was taxing. You wanted to bring up their conversation over the meal but you knew your impatience would only irritate your father, so finding out would have to wait. If only waiting wasn't so hard.
After dinner, you made up your mind to get ready for bed early so you would have all your energy for a full day with Jongin tomorrow. You enter the bathroom and undress in front of the tub, throwing your worn clothes to the side not caring where they landed. The water was warm yet kissing the temperature of being too hot, but it relaxed your muscles which was much needed after feeling so tense for most of the day. You cup your hand to gather water and run it down your body, taking deep breaths and closing your eyes, the scent of lavender floating through your nostrils.
"Princess..." an unfamiliar voice making you jolt, your eyes shooting open. There was no knock on the door or sound of the door opening. You turn around and see Kyungsoo standing not far from where you were. You quickly sink further down into the tub in hopes that the water would cover your breasts.
"Sir Kyungsoo…what are you doing here?" He walks closer to the tub which ultimately causes you to try and back up, only resulting in your top half being exposed. You quickly cover your chest with your arms and your heart rate flies through the roof.
"Prince Jongin told me to come and check on you and to also see if you needed assistance with anything. Miss Vivian was very kind and told me where you were, although I suspect she didn't think I would be entering. And please, no need for formalities, I’m but a mere servant.” He ends his sentence as he sits on the edge of the large tub. He runs his fingers through your bath water and scoops some up in his hand, your eyes following his every movement.
“You don’t have to be so tense around me darling, I won’t hurt you. I give you my word.” As you look up at him ready to deny his claims, the water he stored in his hand cascades down your back making you gasp. He repeats the action, this time letting his hand run down the damp skin. “I thought your beauty had limits”, he gently grabs your chin with the same hand and leans in closer to your face, “but here you are proving me wrong”.
Not trusting your voice you stayed silent, mentally punishing yourself for letting him get away with this. If he hadn’t been holding onto your chin, your jaw would’ve fallen slack. Your arms were already at your sides when his gaze travels down your body and land on your chest and hard nipples. His tongue peeks out from inside his mouth to wet his lips, and it immediately sent tingles straight to your core. He looks back up at you and smirks before standing and exiting the bathroom.
On the outside of the door, his chest heaved. He suddenly felt restricted in his loose clothing. He leaned his head back against the door and ran a hand through his hair. “What in God’s name am I doing?” he thought. He was unlike his normal self, reserved and respectful. You were doing things to him, taking his control away from him. You were the puppeteer manipulating his movements. You were the most beautiful woman he had ever laid eyes on and don't get him started on how lovely you smelled. He cursed his heightened sense, only making it harder to resist you. He knew of the intensity of your relationship with Jongin; yet he wanted to snatch the man's happiness away.
He didn’t believe you could be as perfect as Jongin described you in his many stories but seeing you today made him realize they did you no justice. He couldn’t keep his eyes off of you. The way you moved, the way you spoke, the way you dressed. Each and every thing about you had been perfectly molded by God himself, the only reasonable answer for such a beautiful being. He wanted you, and seeing you in your most vulnerable form in the bathtub made his pants a little tighter.
He knew what he was doing to you, how his actions had heavy consequences on your body. He wanted you enamored, wanted you within his grasp. He fell for you as soon as his eyes met yours and he knew he would do whatever it took to have you. However, he knew of the possibility of that never happening especially since he held onto a secret that only a small few had knowledge of, and that included Jongin.
You hadn’t noticed you were holding your breath until the door shut and the air filling your lungs makes you cough. This man was unpredictable, risky and for your own sake, it would be best to avoid him as much as you could. Your plan to stay grounded against any foul play went down the drain when he got close to you. You hoped everything you felt was all in your head and the consequences weren’t a heavy burden to bear.
For the rest of the evening, any thought of what happened earlier you tried to shove to the back of your mind. It was becoming hard to not think of the man the more you would occasionally pass Jongin in the halls. He still had your heart but whenever you crossed paths, your mind was never on the man in front of you. Instead you seemed to look through and around him wondering if his shadow would be following closely behind. This disappointed you as he was never to be found and you couldn’t help but wonder why. Alas, you were too nervous to ask and truthfully you had no reason to, especially when the man passing you by in the corridors would claim you as his any day now.
“I hope you sleep well Princess. I am grateful to be given the opportunity to see you again in the morning.” Jongin bows and walks past you, down the hall and into his room for the night.
You offered him a small and respectful smile and couldn't deny the warm and tingly feeling you felt when he spoke to you. You sighed deeply knowing that the next few days would be hell with both men in your home.
Midnight soon came and you went into your room to change into your pajamas. You opened the armoire, one that matched the marble pattern on your vanity. An ivory, satin nightgown would be perfect for tonight's weather and also with how warm your body felt. You flopped onto the bed and covered your face with your hands before letting them drop to the sides of your head. Today had put a lot of stress on your mind and rightfully so. Having this strange and beautiful man around had your mind doing mental olympics. "I thought your beauty had limits, but here you are proving me wrong" that line played in your mind over and over and never failed to confuse your heart more each time.
Memory of the way he touched you replayed on loop. The words to stop him were stuck on the tip of your tongue but deep down you wanted him to continue and that's what made it scary. You loved Prince Jongin and your answer to whatever question he had would always be an immediate yes, still you couldn't take your mind off of Kyungsoo. The way he licked his lips as he scanned your body, his touch making you gasp, just everything about his entire being was starting to make you feral even though you only met the man today. Your hormones were getting the best of you and you blamed it on your period possibly arriving soon. The more you thought about him the more the throb between your legs became increasingly obvious and it begged to be touched.
Jumping up and carefully locking the door, you returned to your bed to get comfortable under your blanket and remove your panties. This was so unlike you, but the thought of him sent fire through your veins and there was no other option to satisfy the agonizing thump. Starting with larger circles, they quickly turned into smaller, concentrated ones as you settled into the new feeling. You continued to rub your clit and the slick from in between your folds coated your finger. You wanted more, no, you needed more and the only way to ease your arousal was to insert a finger. The feeling was definitely foreign but it helped alleviate some of the pressure that didn't seem to go away with your earlier actions. The image of Kyungsoo licking his beautiful plump lips popped into your head once more and a small whimper slipped past your lips.
Slightly startled, you quickly sat up and looked around as if there would be an audience watching you touch yourself. You've never once worried about the sound travelling throughout the castle but even if you did it would be useless. The castle wasn't small and with the old stone walls, no sound would penetrate its forces. You settle back into your spot and finish what you started. Knowing no one would hear you, Kyungsoo's name rolled off your tongue as you moaned. You added another finger and began to thrust into yourself faster, back arching off the bed. It didn't take long before the knot building in your stomach snapped and you released your juices all over your fingers.
You lay there in awe of the new sensation, a sheen of sweat dancing across your chest and forehead. Whatever control you believed you had over yourself was snatched away from you in the last 15 minutes and it would be safe to think you'd never get it back. You reach for the handkerchief on your bedside table to clean the mess on your fingers and between your legs. The guilt washed over you when you finally laid your head on your pillow. Your loyalty knew no bounds but now you questioned if it was ever one of your qualities. The thought of Jongin finding out what you did tonight made you cover your face in embarrassment and curl your body into a ball. What if he didn't want you anymore, what if he could tell that your mind hasn't been on him since you laid eyes on Kyungsoo? What would he think of you?
Kyungsoo also had no luck with getting you off his mind. He stood with his hands gripping the sink, staring at his reflection in the bathroom mirror, wondering if the man on the other side was still him. It was becoming too difficult to keep his urge of releasing all the pent up feelings while he was all alone. He thought of how the droplets of water glimmered against your soft and supple skin. He imagined you moaning his name when you gasped at his touch. Every thought sent blood right to his lower organ. It was painful, the way it pressed against the fabric of his pants as if it would break through any second.
He reached down and palmed his erection through his clothes, grip on the sink getting tighter. His breath quickened as he moved his hand faster. It felt good but still wasn't enough to shake the thought of you. He pulled the zipper down along with the waistband of his briefs just enough so his dick popped free. Concentration deep within his brows as he focused stroking his length as if he was within your velvety walls. He felt it, the feeling of ecstasy building up waiting to explode. A few more pumps and he came in his hand, moans hidden behind the lip caught between his teeth. It wasn’t until his lip fell free that he noticed the drops of blood coming from it.
Another look in the mirror and he saw just how much of himself he let go. Piercing red eyes and fangs to match. This was dangerous, you were dangerous. He would never be able to keep his secret to himself with you around, but he craved you. He so badly wanted to have his dick buried deep inside you and his teeth sunk into your skin. It would be euphoric and if he didn't get it, he might just wish for death.
Breakfast the next morning was quite large given that there were extra guests but sometimes you thought it a waste since the abundance of food left over could feed a whole village. As you entered the great hall, you scanned the grand area in search of Jongin. He wasn’t here and you wanted to be courteous and wait for him before you touched your food. You spot Vivian on the other side talking to Kyungsoo and your curiosity got the best of you. Jealous wouldn’t be the right word to use but you felt the need to go over and cut their conversation short no matter how important.
You wave to Vivian as you close in on the pair and her eyes light up when she sees you, making Kyungsoo turn around. He bows and you extend a curtsy.
“Prince Jongin will be here shortly, he’s just having a slow morning so please do excuse him.” Kyungsoo looks at you as if to watch your face for any changes.
“That’s quite alright, you both must be tired from your long journey yesterday. I have no problem with waiting for him.”
He smiles softly and excuses himself, walking toward the exit.
Vivian nudges you and leans in when he's no longer in sight. "Is it just me or is something really weird about him? Or...maybe it's just because he fancies you." her voice being a mere whisper, inaudible if you hadn't been so close to her.
Your head whips in her direction, "Nonsense! He does not! But yes something is very different about him and I'm not sure how one would describe it."
"You may not think so, but I definitely do. He watches you every time you're around. He pays no mind to anything else going on around him and he looks at you like you're rations on harvest day."
You wanted to call her delusional but you knew of the interactions you had with him yesterday and you could never muster up enough courage to tell her about your conflict. As the hopeless romantic she is, the situation would excite her but she would tell you to think logically and remember how much you love and waited for Jongin. Maybe that's what you needed, someone to tell you that it was stupid to even think about someone else. Not now though, you would do everything in your power to deny the feelings budding for the new man and focus solely on your suitor.
Breakfast was served and your stomach grumbled the second the variety of aromas caressed your nose.
"Good morning Princess, I hope I did not make you wait too long. I would have rushed here sooner if I knew you were already present."
You turn to look in the direction of the voice. Jongin stands before you and you offer him your hand. He kisses it and you give his a light squeeze. "Please do not worry about such things my prince. I did not wait long but would have waited longer if you needed.
He smiled brightly hearing you call him "your prince" for the first time and admittedly it felt weird to you even though it left your mouth with ease.
After the meal, everyone returned to their rooms to await the next. You laid on your bed while indulging in your favorite book. There was a soft knock on your door.
"Please come in" you say, shifting your weight from your stomach to your elbows to gain leverage and look in the direction of the door.
To your pleasant surprise, Jongin enters with a bow. You quickly stand up from your bed and run your hands down your dress to straighten it out.
"Oh! Prince Jongin, what brings you here?"
"I was wondering if you'd like to take a walk in the garden with me? I love to take walks around noon, the sun is at its highest then."
Perfect timing. This is what you needed, some time completely alone with him so you had no other distractions. "I would love to, I will be right down."
A big smile paints his face and he releases a breath that was anxiously waiting in his chest. "Take your time, I will meet you outside when you are ready."
To say the garden was huge was an understatement but it was the perfect place to relax and unwind. Jongin offers you his arm to hold while you two take the stroll.
"Is the sun too bright? I can ask Kyungsoo to bring an umbrella if you'd li-"
You tighten your grip on his arm slightly startling him, "No no, it's perfectly fine! The rays from the sun are healthy in small amounts and it feels great on the skin." The excuse was corny but it was the best you could come up with.
He offers you a warm smile and extends his hand in front of you as a way to say "lead the way". The last thing you needed was for Kyungsoo to come and ruin this time with Jongin. If the man you had your arms locked with right now knew of the exchanges with his servant, he would probably look at you in disgust. You were going to pass this test one way or another.
Thankfully Kyungsoo was the last person on your mind the entire time. The prince lead most of the conversations but you didn't mind, his voice was just as attractive as the rest of him and seeing him laugh so freely was like a breath of fresh air.
He gave you butterflies and to think that he wanted to marry you and no one else, made you feel like you were on cloud 9. You didn't give much thought to what your husband would look or be like when you were younger, but if you did, you know he would fit the description perfectly.
"We must head back now, it will be time for lunch soon and we wouldn't want everyone looking for us. But before we go-" he pauses as he brings a hand from around his back to reveal a pink rose.
You gasp in delight and grab it, fingers brushing against his. Courageously, you stand on the tips of your toes and place a small kiss on his cheek. "I love it so much, it's beautiful! Thank you."
Although he tried to hide it, the obvious blush on his cheeks told you just how much the kiss excited him. If you wanted to keep the other one off your brain, things like this would have to be more frequent. You didn't want to come on too strongly but there was no denying how much he loved you and you had to do whatever it took to keep your feelings in order.
Now you were curious what he spoke about with your father since he still hadn't proposed. Was he rethinking his decision? The thought made you nervous and wondered if everything Kyungsoo did was simply a test and Jongin knew about it all. It would be futile to ask him now especially if it meant opening a can of worms; you definitely weren't ready for that conversation.
After lunch, Vivian dragged you to her room to interrogate you.
"How was your date with Jongin? Did you hold hands? Did you kiss him? Tell me everything!"
You chuckled at her straightforwardness. "It was amazing! He's such a lovely person, I could hear him talk all day. And...maybe I did kiss him." You had to quickly add more to your sentence before she screamed "But only on the cheek, nothing serious!"
"Oh how great it must feel to have two men longing for you at once." She clasped her hands at her chest and looked up as if she were imagining it.
Your smile dropped. "Vivian again with this? He doesn't like me, I'm just new to him."
"If you saw him today, you wouldn't be saying that." She tilted her head and looked off to the side.
Suddenly your interest was piqued. "W-what do you mean?"
"I mean, he looked like a dog who lost its master. The entire time you were out with Jongin, he walked around aimlessly like he counted down the minutes until you returned. I have seen my fair share of people in love and he's definitely one of them. He wishes he was Prince Jongin, I can see it in his eyes."
You had thought about it and on multiple occasions within the past two days. What would it be like to have Kyungsoo wanting to spend the rest of his life with you? Would you want the other instead? It felt selfish thinking about something like this when Jongin was so nice to you. It felt inconsiderate to think that the thought of Kyungsoo was the one to send you over the edge when you pleasured yourself at night.
You would talk to him tomorrow you decided. You needed to know the intent behind his actions and would politely ask him to keep the relationship platonic.
After bathing, you returned to your quarters. Tonight's attire was a white, sheer, long nightgown that was maybe a bit too sheer to even be considered clothing. You hop into bed and lay on your back, relishing the way the silk sheets felt against your skin. The feeling sent shivers down your spine and memories of your orgasm coaxed you into wanting another. You tried to compel the idea to the back of your mind, but unsuccessfully so when you remembered what Vivian said about Kyungsoo. You spending most of the day with Jongin equating to nothing in this moment. Remembering how disappointed he looked when you waited patiently for Jongin at breakfast. And his voice. It was so deep and sultry, every word laced with passion and you wondered what it’d be like to have him whisper in your ear. He was too intoxicating.
Succumbing to the growing feeling between your legs, you reach under your nightgown and start to rub your clit through the thin fabric of your panties. The initial feeling makes you squirm in place, closing your legs to add to the friction. One finger, then two gets inserted and it quickly turns into you riding the palm of your hand when you curl your fingers upwards to hit the gummy spot that shortens your breath. Whimpers turn into moans and before you know it, Kyungsoo's name is rolling off your tongue again like it's the only name you know. You speed up and right before you can reach your climax, there's a knock on your door. Quickly sitting up and adjusting your appearance, you rush over to the door to open it. You peek around the door, shielding your body as best as you can from whoever awaited on the other side.
It was him. The man whose name you were just moaning like crazy. Your face instantly turns a shade of red when you realize that he could have heard you before he knocked on the door. Angling your body further away from the door, you stare at the man a bit longer before he decides to speak up instead.
"May I come in?" He waits for your response which felt like an eternity. “You seem…busy? I promise it will be quick.” He says slightly pushing the door to allow himself in, becoming impatient with waiting for you to speak up and afraid someone would catch him.
It was the embarrassment and the way you had no strength to debate that made you back away and allow him to step past the barrier of your door. He closed it behind him and leaned against it. It was then that he took the time to realize your almost naked frame in front of him.
He’d be lying if he said he didn’t want to attack you then and there but there were more important things at hand. You noticed how his eyes traveled down your body and you finally became conscious of your scantily clad figure, quickly covering your chest with your arms, forgetting that left your bottom half exposed under the sheer gown.
"What is it that you need Kyungsoo? Perhaps we can discuss this in the morning?"
“No! No…it can’t wait. I have to tell you how I feel now before I go insane.” You look at him confused, heart racing the more he spoke. “You’ve been driving me mad since I’ve first laid eyes on you. You’re more perfect than words can describe. I hate myself for not believing Jongin when he would come home and brag about just how pretty you were. I know you understand how I’m feeling too because even now you look at me with an indescribable want in your eyes.”
He walks closer to you and lets his hands rest atop the arms that cover your breasts. He moves them away from your body and lets his hand travel down your right arm, stopping at your wrist. He brings the hand up to his mouth and sucks on the two middle fingers. His eyes close and he lets out a low sigh.
“And with the way you moaned my name while riding these fingers, there’s no denying my existence ignites you from within.”
He looks to you expecting you to prove him wrong, to tell him he had no business confessing his feelings for you when Jongin lay his head a few rooms away, but you couldn’t. You couldn’t acknowledge that his feelings were invalid and not mutual. So when he leaned in closer, you met him halfway and allowed him to connect his lips to yours.
The kiss was needy and filled with hunger. His tongue swiped your lips asking permission and you opened your mouth giving him access to explore you. He wraps a hand around your neck, squeezing the sides lightly and drags his teeth over your bottom lip making you whimper. He begins to pepper light and gentle kisses across your law line and down to your neck where he nips and sucks on the skin. Tongue sliding across your jugular, a moan escapes your lips. He continues his abuse on your neck and brings his hands up to cup your boobs. He massages the flesh, hands dancing across the skin in search for your nipples, pinching them when he finds them. He suddenly halts his movements, cupping your chin in his hand looking at you for what felt like a millennium.
“My love if you want me to stop now, tell me. Tell me you don’t want me and I’ll stop.”
You grabbed his hand and looked at him with hooded lids, eyes filled with lust.
“I don’t wish for you to stop and I don’t wish to regret this moment.”
His lips are back on yours, this time more passionate and filled with love. He kisses his way past your neck and down to your chest. He goes to suck on your nipple through the thin fabric, massaging the other between his fingers. There was nothing you could do to hold back your moans and he loved every second. Just as you were about to lock your fingers in his hair, he stops and pulls you in the direction of the bed. He sits down on the edge and pats his lap.
"Come here." he says pulling you forward to straddle him. His hands travel up your thighs and settle on your ass, massaging it as he looks back up at you. "Would it make me selfish if I said I was jealous of Jongin even though I have you here like this?" he says pecking your lips after every couple of words. "You were on my mind all day, I couldn't contain myself. I had to come taste you, I wouldn't be satisfied any other way." He moves your hips to grind on his lap and your head falls back as you moan.
You couldn't let him take over just yet, you wanted a clear mind but with the way he had you feeling, you would bet he cast a spell on you.
"If I said you were, then I'd have to call myself something much harsher." You say through broken and choked moans.
Leaning back, he pulls you up so that you now sit on his chest. "I want you to sit on my face, I need to taste you now before I lose my mind."
Hesitant at first, you couldn't shake the thought of suffocating him. He had gained your trust in the short amount of time though and everything else has felt great so far, so you expected he had already weighed the pros and cons.
As if reading your mind, he pulls you up higher on his chest, “I’ll be okay and you'll feel good if you listen, I promise."
You hover over his face for a few more seconds before you lower yourself onto his mouth, your thighs resting on either side of his head. His licks a long stripe from your entrance to your clit and your hips buck involuntarily. A low breathy moan comes from the both of you. He wraps his hands around your upper thighs to stop you from moving. He laps away at you like a parched dog, making your toes curl. You tangle your fingers in his hair to try and regain your control only to fail miserably when he dips his tongue inside. A loud moan escapes you and you can feel him smile against your heat.
"Kyungsoo p-please, it's too much!"
Of course he doesn't stop and instead rubs circles on your clit with the pad of his thumb. At this point your brain was fuzzy, no thoughts running through it. A few more licks and sucks on your clit and you become undone, cumming all over his tongue as you scream his name. He continues to lick to let you come down from your high and then quickly flips you so that your back is against the bed, his chin glistening with your juices.
"Open your mouth, see how fucking good you taste." Not caring about your image anymore, you open your mouth to allow him to dribble the mixture of his own saliva and your essence down your throat. "Swallow."
Not giving you time to process, he dips down to kiss you, the rest of your fluids spreading over your lips. He brings his hand back to your pussy and uses his fingers to tease your folds.
"You're so wet for me baby, is this how badly you wanted me?" You nod as he brings you back into a kiss, easing one of his fingers in. You felt so good around his fingers and he could only imagine how you would feel once he finally got his dick inside. For now, he wanted to take his time and feel every inch of you. "Come here. I want to feel your mouth on me, see how good your throat feels."
You sit up on your knees and see that he's already removed most of his clothing except for his shirt. You look down and see his dick hard, tip touching his belly button. He was big, bigger than you expected but you've also never been with a man like this so there was nothing to go off of as reference. He positions himself back at the edge of your bed and you sit on your knees in front of him.
He tapped on your left cheek, "Open. Tongue out."
Following instructions, he tapped his length on your tongue, precum leaking from the tip. Everything about this felt sinful and in truth it was, but it was exhilarating and you craved the adrenaline rush. Maybe it was the way he looked at you or the way he handled you, whatever it was, it was becoming poisonous. He sat back on the palms of his hands and you took it as a sign to do whatever you wanted. You've only seen things like this in the books that the maids kept hidden in their belongings; you and Vivian sneaking to read them when no one was looking. You had no idea what you were doing but you knew you wanted to make him feel good.
You lick from the base to the head, seemingly doing something right because he hisses and bites on his bottom lip. You kitten lick and place a light kiss on the head before taking his length in your mouth as far as you can go. He hits the back of your throat, making you gag.
"Good girl. Fuuuck...just like that." he reaches down to grab a handful of your hair but not to force you back down. He so badly wanted to buck up into your mouth but didn't want to hurt you or cum too quickly.
You bob your head and hollow your cheeks, sucking as much as you can before easing your way back down. His eyes are closed and his head is back, veins straining in his neck. You brought a hand up to stroke whatever didn't fit in your mouth and the grip in your hair got tighter. Seeing him like this boosted your confidence and also made you wetter. You were testing his self control and if you kept this up he wouldn't be able to stop himself from going too far.
The muscles in his thighs were starting to tighten and he knew he was close. "I don't want to come just yet, I want to be inside of you." You let go of his dick with a pop, eyes watering and saliva trickling out the side of your mouth.
He pulls you back into his lap and into another heated kiss. Without the barrier from the clothing, the skin to skin sent your mind into a frenzy and it made you throb in anticipation. You mimic what he did to you and dragged your teeth across his bottom lip, earning a deep groan from him. He breaks the kiss and once again lets his lips travel to your neck. He trails the kisses up your jaw and bites your earlobe.
"Would you like for me to fuck you so hard you forget your own name?", his breath is warm against your ear and you were sure you made a wet spot in his lap.
"Please, I need you. I can't take this anymore." You could feel him grow harder beneath you when your begging came out more like whines. He roughly pulls back on your hair, exposing your neck to him and he doesn't miss the chance to suck harshly and almost leave hickeys behind. You moan and grind your hips on him, making him curse under his breath. "Please Kyungsoo, I need you. You make me feel so good, I want you so badly."
He stops his attacks and lifts you off his lap to throw you back onto the bed. He hovers over you staring into your eyes deeply. "Are you sure you want to continue? We don't have to."
You were past the point of questioning if you wanted him anymore and you weren't going to pass up the opportunity after getting this far. You wanted your first time to be with someone you chose and right now that was him. "My heart would never forgive me if I said no and I'm not one to not give it what it wants."
He smiles and kisses you once more, "I'll go slow my love, I'll take care of you." He eases his way inch by inch, making sure to give you time to adjust to his size; constantly watching your face for any signs of discomfort.
He was stagnant, not minding that you took your time to get comfortable. You were thankful it didn’t hurt as much as everyone made it seem but knowing the circumstances in which you were doing it, only made it feel like the punishment would be stronger.
You wrap your arms around his neck, pulling him in closer. "Kyungsoo...I want to feel you now."
His pace started slow and steady, ensuring you didn't feel any pain even though you gave him the okay. When you lifted your hips to meet his thrusts, that was all it took for him to speed up. His rhythm is relentless, but you didn't want it any other way. The feeling was beyond words and if there was a way to pause time in this moment you would have done so.
"Look at me while I fuck you. Close your eyes and I'll stop" he says, holding the back of your head so you could look at him. Keeping your eyes open was easier said than done when they closed every time he thrust back in. Every moan you tried to hold back, forced its way past your lips. "Let me hear them, let me hear how I make you feel."
He tried to keep it together, but the way you were clenching around him, he wasn't going to last much longer. It all felt like a dream and it started when he walked through your door. He didn't plan on this but hearing you moan his name before he knocked and seeing the way your fingers glistened when they wrapped around the door only corrupted his thoughts.
"This pussy is mine, tell me it's mine. Tell me you want me to fuck you like this forever."
The combination of him fucking you so deeply and the way he spoke to you made your head spin and you knew your orgasm was approaching for the second time tonight.
"It’s all yours Kyungsoo! Fuck me like this forever, make me yours forever!"
You didn't think it was possible, but his thrusts felt deeper and harder. His head went down to your chest and he sucked a red spot in a place that only he’d know. The blood rushing to that area had him thirsting for more and before he let his teeth break the threshold, your walls fluttered around him violently.
You were sure you saw stars, your legs shaking. It took a few more thrusts from him before he pulled out and finished on your stomach.
Are you okay? Did I hurt you?"
It was a close call at most or perhaps it was a sign that he was letting his guard down too much. You were pushing him to the edge of insanity so much so that the side of him he spent so much of his life trying to hide was easing its way to the forefront. If he wanted you to trust him, he could never let you know of the real him.
"That was the best feeling I’ve ever had in my life." It came out almost monotonously but you had no strength to put more feeling behind it.
He smiles and reaches to your bedside table for anything to clean the both of you off. In contrast to how he was a few minutes ago, he was extremely gentle as he wiped the mess you created. Watching him made your heart flutter, more than it did when you were with Jongin. Oh no, Jongin. He hadn't crossed your mind since your walk in the garden with him earlier. The guilt came flooding in and it made you feel sick to your stomach. You were supposed to be marrying Jongin, not Kyungsoo and now with what you've done, you feel like you've ruined your chances of that ever happening.
Kyungsoo notices the shift in your mood and pulls you into a hug. "What's wrong my love? What is weighing heavily on your mind?" he asks, placing a kiss to the crown of your head and small strokes to your back.
"What about Jongin? How will I ever marry him after what we've done tonight?"
He stops rubbing your back, making you look up at him. "I will not be informing him of what happened tonight. It doesn't matter who you marry, you're mine for as long as we live."
You push yourself off of him, "How would that even be possible? I cannot have these relationships coincide."
"He doesn't have to know, and he won't. I can't let you go now that I have you. I want you and I will always want you till the day I die." He cups your face in his hands. "Even if I have to wait 100 years, I will never stop loving you."
Spending this night with Kyungsoo made you unsure of what you wanted, but you definitely weren't sure if what you wanted was Jongin anymore. You wanted to marry him but thinking of being able to have Kyungsoo whenever you wanted him made your heart beat with excitement. The thought made you feel like a whore, but you never meant for any of this to happen. Kyungsoo was irresistible and thinking back on it, he was also very sweet and caring. There was no way you could marry Jongin and be with Kyungsoo, without him or anyone else in your castle finding out about it. All of it was too confusing but for now you wanted Kyungsoo as much as you wanted to marry Jongin, you just wish there was a way to make both things work.
The following day Jongin was stuck to you like velcro which you didn't hate but him being around meant that Kyungsoo was around too. You couldn't help but feel guilty and now there was no reversing it. You didn't regret your night with Kyungsoo but it only complicated things more. Every touch or glance in your direction from Jongin never went unnoticed by him, and he watched you like an animal would stalk its prey. The eye contact was another thing. Each time your eyes met his, it was like reliving your moments with him in your bedroom. You felt your face and body heat up and you prayed the blush didn't show on your cheeks.
It also didn’t help that he looked extra good today. Instead of a blouse, he wore a black vest over a white button down, a single chain accentuating the breast pocket. It fit him so nicely and complimented his wide shoulders.
Jongin sits up in his seat and leaned over the table, resting his head in his hand. "I'm going to go horseback riding, would you care to join me Princess?"
"Sure, I would love to. I haven't been riding in some time though so my skills may not be to your liking."
"Ah well, you can ride on my horse with me if that is best. I wouldn't want you to feel as though you're a burden, even though you truly wouldn't be."
You nod in agreement although you weren't really sure what you just agreed to with feeling Kyungsoo's eyes piercing the back of your skull. It drove him crazy to be this close to you and not be able to touch you. After last night he wasn't sure how he would live without you and tolerate seeing you with another man. Jongin didn't know how good he had it, he could walk around with you freely and not be judged. That's what Kyungsoo wanted, you all to himself. You were his, not the property of a prince. He reluctantly followed the both of you outside and awaited his next order.
“Kyungsoo, do you mind helping the Princess with her boots while I go get my things? I want her to be as comfortable as possible.”
He bows his head lightly and grabs the boots to put on your feet. You take a seat on the small bench between the tall, green hedges that lined most of the garden. He kneels on one knee in front of you and places your foot on top of his thigh. Jongin was barely out of eyesight when he lifts your dress high on your legs. You shoot him a shocked look when you feel him pepper kisses up your inner thigh.
“K-kyungsoo, w-what are you doing? Someone will see…” you try to push his head away before you lost yourself in the feeling. He didn’t take heed to your warning and nipped at the soft skin, letting a moan rip through you. He keeps his eyes on you the entire time. His dick can’t help but twitch watching the way you try to keep your composure and with knowing how easily you can both be caught at any second. He wastes no time to push your thighs further apart while dragging his nails down your other leg.
“P-please, not now. Not here.” was all you could manage to say while trying to stay coherent. You wanted to scold him for being so bold but every time you felt his mouth get closer and closer to your clothed heat, all thoughts of reprimanding him left your head.
You look down to see his eyes on you and seeing him so content between your legs did something to you. He hooks his fingers around the fabric of your panties and pulls them to the side to give himself better access. He licks long and achingly slow stripes through your folds. You had lost the battle of trying to keep yourself together and already had one hand tangled in his hair.
You bit down on your other fist to hush the sound of you moaning but the more he ate you out, the louder you became. As if he knew you wouldn’t be able to control your volume, he slips a finger inside and curls it upwards, hitting the spot that made you weak. At this point you were riding his mouth with the way your hips bucked up against his face. He added another finger and sped up the thrusts. He switched between sucking on your clit and fucking you with his fingers. You were so close now that you could taste it, however he suddenly halted his movements and quickly slipped on both of your boots. You open your mouth to protest but he gives you a look that kept your lips pressed together tightly. He fixed your dress and licked his lips to rid himself of any evidence that he just had his face nestled between your legs.
Jongin returns mere seconds later with a saddle nuzzled under his arm. “Are you okay Princess, you look a bit flushed? Are you feeling under the weather?”
Embarrassing was an understatement and knowing you were in a noticeably messy state, brightened the blush on your cheeks. “No no, I’m alright. Perhaps I should start wearing more sunscreen?”
Your answer seemed to satisfy him as he offered his hand to you to lead you toward the stables. You look back at Kyungsoo who bows as Jongin takes you further away.
Jongin had frequented the palace enough to have claimed one of the horses as his own. It was a beautiful black Friesian horse he named Trophy. When you entered the stable, the horse began to whinny seemingly knowing of Jongin’s presence. He offered it pats and rubs over its head and body before placing the saddle on its back. Making sure it’s secure before hopping on the horse and grabbing your hand, letting you sit in front of him so that he had complete control.
You were practically sitting in his lap with how close he was. You thought you would be behind him and find security in holding onto his waist, but the tables were turned and his arms rested on either side of you as he held onto the reins.
“Are you comfortable Princess?” he looks from around you, almost resting his head on your shoulder. It made your heart flutter and in the moment you wanted to turn your head and lock your lips with his.
“Yes, thank you. Are you comfortable as well?” You heard the smile in his voice when he agreed to your question.
“Please let me know if you need me to slow down or if you’re ready to return.” And with that he snapped the reins and the horse was off, slowly walking out of the stable.
For the remainder of the ride you couldn’t help but notice how good of a horseback rider Jongin was. Every move that he made was precise and calculated and it was like the horse was made just for him. The more the horse picked up speed the more Jongin would rut against you from the force of the gallop. The constant friction was starting to turn you on and you could only imagine what went through his mind behind you.
Although wanting to turn around and straddle him, you were having fun. Horseback riding used to be one of your favorite pastimes and now you wonder why you ever stopped. It was the adrenaline that came from the speed and the wind that blew through your hair that made you feel like you could do it all day. He made Trophy come to a halt and you took a look at your surroundings. It was an area that you’ve never seen before and you questioned whether you were still within the kingdom walls.
“Oh my, this is breathtaking! This doesn’t even feel like home.”
“But it is, it’s just very far away from the palace. I learned about this place while out on a ride and it’s been my favorite to visit ever since. I can bring you here often if you’d like?”
You nodded and he helped you off the horse. It was like a mini oasis within this small forest. The trees were all covered in fresh blooms, a waterfall flowed down into a midsized pond which held some of the clearest water you’ve ever seen.
“Do you like swimming Princess? We can take a quick dip before returning.”
You quickly nodded and a smile lit up his face. He took your hand and lead you closer to the edge of the pond. He began unbuttoning his sky blue blouse and pulled it over his head, revealing his toned abs. You knew he was fit but never knew just how sculpted his body was. Seeing him like this made your insides stir, not dismissing how you finished undressing him with your eyes. He guided you into the water slowly and never took his eyes off you. The water sloshed around you both as you moved further in, your dress already soaked from your waist down. He let go of your hand to give you more freedom and you immediately submerged yourself to drench your entire body.
When you came up, you playfully swatted some water on him causing him to chuckle and mimic the action. The splash fight continued for a few minutes before you both grew tired of clearing the dripping water from your faces. He swam closer to you and grabbed you by the waist. He looked down at you, a mixture of love and lust in his eyes. Looking at you for a few seconds more, he dipped down and placed his lips on yours. His lips were soft and he moved them in such a rhythmic manner, much more innocently than Kyungsoo. You bring your hands up to cup the back of his neck and deepen the kiss.
He pulled you into him some more and slid his tongue over yours, earning a moan from you. He kept one hand on the small of your back and the other rested on the back of your head as he kissed you hungrily. He broke the kiss, chest heaving and lips red.
“I love you” he says as if he couldn’t contain the words in his mouth. He looks at you scared as if he had made a mistake saying it to you.
“I-I love you too Jongin.” You didn’t lie when you said it back. You’ve known him for some time now and being on edge waiting for his proposal further proved just how much you cared for him. The problem now was you found yourself falling in love with Kyungsoo too which was for lack of better words, insensitive.
“You’re the best thing that ever happened to me and I can’t wait to make you my wife.”
It was like an arrow shot through your heart as he finished his sentence. Here he was pouring his heart out to you and last night you tangled bodies with his servant whom he trusts. Your conscience scolded you and you wanted to clutch your chest to stop the pain.
“We should start heading back now, the sun will set soon.” he says already adjusting the equipment on the stallion.
Thankfully you sat in front of him so he wouldn't question the tears that streamed down your cheeks. Guilt was hitting you hard, wishing you never made the mistake but not regretting your time with his right hand man.
Kyungsoo is already waiting when you and Jongin return from the stables, his face stoic but his eyes told a different story.
“Please grab the Princess a towel so she may dry herself off, we wouldn’t want her to catch a cold. I shall be inside doing the same.” Jongin walks up to you and kisses your forehead. “I had a great time today and I can’t wait to see you tomorrow.”
You exchange smiles before he walks away and turn your attention to Kyungsoo whose face is twisted.
“You smell like him. Too much like him.”
"What? How?" You looked down, grabbing the closest piece of your dress to see what he smelled on you, yet to your senses you only smelled wet.
Ignoring your question, he picks a towel up from the glass table and pulls you in by your waist. Your hands fall onto his chest and he begins by drying your hair. “Why are you so wet? What did you do with him? You can see right through your dress!”
He wasn’t lying, your dress stuck to you like paint so nothing was left to the imagination. Your nipples poked and prodded their way through the material.
“We went swimming…”
Visibly annoyed, he rolled his eyes and continued drying the rest of you. The sky was already beginning to get darker with the sun declining, but it seemed darker than it should have. Large drops of rain started to fall from above instantly darkening spots on the concrete path. You look up and open your hands to catch a few. You really should get inside before your immune system gave up on you.
“I’m going to go inside.” You go to walk away but he grabs your wrist and pulls you back toward him, catching you again by the waist.
“I'm sorry but I can't help being jealous. If you can’t handle being with me, at least don’t make it so hard for me to stay away from you. You’re driving me crazy, I can’t live without you.”
It was confusing. How could your heart love someone you’ve only known for less than a week? And it was starting to become more so than the person you’ve known for 3 months. How were you to solve this matter when there was no logical answer; always concluding with one or the other?
"I-I don't know what to say."
"Say you love me. Love me forever."
His lips brush gently against yours, once again weakening your knees. You gently shove him away.
"I want to...but you know I can't."
"Hm, I understand. It's best you go in now, you've been out here long enough." He bows slightly and walks away from you. His heart ached, all he wanted was to be able to love you without consequence. He's never hated his life so much than he did now.
"Oh to be reborn again as something other than a peasant" he thinks. Better yet, to be reborn as Jongin would satisfy him the most. All he wanted was you, all he needed was you and knowing he couldn't have you had him torn between anger and sadness. He was becoming desperate now, willing to do any and everything to split you two apart. He hated that he was so weak for you, for being so unlike himself. Tomorrow was the last day of their stay and he was aware of the plans Jongin had with you.
A proposal. A promise of a union between two parties. "In sickness and in health; till death do us part", he would have to hear you say those words and see you seal them with a kiss. It would be torture but he wasn't blessed with royalty nor in a different body and this would be his punishment for letting things get so far with you.
It was late and you have long since been dry. Having taken too many sips from the glass of water next to you, it was best to make a quick trip to the bathroom before you got too comfortable in bed. A single candle in its holder dimly lit your way, your feet slapping against the cold marble flooring. Someone clears their throat softly next to you making you almost drop the candle.
"I'm sorry if I startled you princess." Jongin walks up to you, face illuminating in the small light. "W-would you like to spend the night with me? Tomorrow is my last day with you and I would love if I at least got the chance to share my bed with my future wife."
Admittedly taken aback by his request, you would miss him when he was gone and didn't get much time with him with your mind so preoccupied.
"Everyone is asleep so they won't notice."
You followed him after using the bathroom. You had never been in his room before, let alone any of the guest rooms so seeing how different everything looked made you feel like you already lived together.
He grabbed your hand and guided you to the bed and let you climb in.
"Goodnight my love, tomorrow will be a great day" he says kissing your cheek before turning over with his back pressed against yours.
You laid awake too many thoughts going through your mind to settle into relaxation. Based off of what he said, he was sure to propose tomorrow. It excited you, the thought of being a wife but also his wife. You've waited long enough to get to this point and backing down because of some new feelings would not get in your way. This was a test, you thought, and although you've failed most of it, you were going to make the rest count.
There was a shift in weight behind you and now Jongin no longer had his back pressed against yours. There was something hard pressed against your ass, you knowing what it was almost immediately. He snakes an arm around your waist and pulls you closer making his hard on settle in the crevice of your behind. You grabbed his hand that draped over your midsection and gave it a squeeze, letting him know he could continue.
He kissed his way down from your ear to your shoulder. He rolled you onto your back and hovered above you. The moonlight lit the room just enough so he could see your expression. It felt different, being under him versus being under Kyungsoo. It was like darkness and light, Jongin being the latter.
His hand ran down the sides of your body, taking his time to admire every inch. The gentle touches leaving lingering tingles on your skin. He moved back up to caress your face and finally leaned down to put his lips on yours. After kissing you earlier, he knew he wanted another, not being able to wait for the wedding day. Your lips were soft and he loved how your nose would brush his ever so slightly.
You were like a painting in his eyes, each brushstroke carefully placed to form your very image. But something changed in the way you looked at him since his stay. He had his doubts but seeing his close companion look at you the way he did, he knew there was something there. Not something like he had with you, something so much more mature and unadulterated.
He wasn’t going to let his fear obstruct his goal, he was going to marry the love of his life even if your heart leaned more toward Kyungsoo. He took this opportunity to pour his feelings into his actions and he hoped they would properly relay the message.
His hand reached under your night dress and brushed between your folds through the fabric. You bit your lip as he watched your changing expressions.
“Feels good?” He pressed down a bit harder and quickly swiped over your clit.
You nodded and reached down to massage his dick. It felt thick and warm in your hand and his eyes threatened to close from your ministrations. He discarded you of your undergarments and playfully teased your pussy. He wanted to see just how far he could go before you begged him for more. You reached under his pajamas and released his achingly hard dick from its restraints. He hissed as the cold air kissed the tip making him leak more precum.
He finally let a finger dip inside your cave and he quickly added another when he felt just how wet you were. His dick twitched in your hand. To think he would be able to fuck you whenever he wanted had him already making plans for babies.
You stroked him with both hands now, precum making it easier for your hands to glide over him. One hand reached down to cup his balls and gently roll them while the other fisted closer to the head. He was bucking into your hand, dick growing more sensitive by the second.
His fingers already started to speed up to get you closer to your climax as well. You were both breathing heavily and moaning, falling weak to the work you put into each other. His fingers curled up and hit your sweet spot making your back arch off the bed. Your hands sped up the more his did and your orgasms were approaching quickly.
“Fuck, I’m so close please don’t stop”, he pleaded with you adding his thumb on your clit to speed up the process.
Your words dissolved into the air above you as your vision started to close in. You writhed under his touch and chased your high.
“Oh fuck I’m gonna cum, please tell me you’re close” his fingers were thrusting sloppily but he felt your walls tighten, giving him the motivation he needed to push through.
Your stomach balled into a knot ready to snap and when he came down to suck on your collarbone, you moaned loudly as your climax spilled over. You squirted all over his already sensitive dick and he couldn’t hold back the cum that spurted out onto your chest and stomach.
You winced at the emptiness when he removed his fingers. His hair stuck to his forehead, face flushed red. He dropped down next to you, both of your chests heaving.
“Thank you for making this night special, I’m sorry if it didn’t live up to your expectations.”
You felt sad that he thought that way, not really knowing what made his self esteem so low. You look over at him excited to tell him how much you loved it but his eyes were already closed. You rolled over and pressed a kiss to his temple and rested your head on his chest, sleep coming to claim you as well.
You woke up in a daze, unable to tell how much time had passed. You had to get back to your room before morning came, not needing anyone to find you anywhere else. Jongin’s arm wrapped around your torso and his face nuzzled in your neck--you were stuck. You eased your way out of his grasp and tiptoed toward the door, looking back to make sure he didn't stir awake. You took a deep breath before twisting the knob as quietly as possible. The real mission would be getting to your room and not being spotted by anyone. The floor was cold and you wished you wore socks or at least something on your feet. You ran lightly and as quickly as possible with your arms being the only things that kept you warm.
You passed by a room and heard shuffling on the other side so you moved as fast as your feet would allow.
"What are you doing?"
You stopped in your tracks when you heard the voice. You knew who it belonged to and didn't have the confidence to face him. You slowly turned on your heels and saw Kyungsoo standing in the doorway of his room. He barely wore anything so his body was on full display.
"You frightened me, I'm just going back to my room."
He cocked an eyebrow upwards and stepped passed the threshold of the door.
"Going back?" He knew exactly what you meant but he didn't want to accept that Jongin would be ballsy enough to get you caught in the morning just because he wanted more time with you. Yet he knew he'd do the same especially since his heart was already starting to break into pieces knowing he wouldn't see you for a while after tomorrow. This was unacceptable and borderline unfair. “If you can enjoy getting wet with him, stay and get wet with me.”
Your mouth was dry and you truly had nothing to say. He had a way with his words that turned you into a puddle. You stared at him trying to think of something that would make him let you off the hook. He walked over and stared down at you. He leaned in to kiss you softly, conveying a different feeling than he usually does. His hand comes up to rest on the back of your head, tilting his to gain advantage. He pulls back and look at you.
"Don't leave me to deal with these feelings by myself. If I have to live with you being with him, then just for tonight let me be the only one you think of."
How could you say no? After tomorrow, you would have to act like your feelings for him didn't exist. As hard as that would be, unless you wanted to be executed for adultery, it was all you could do. He escorted you to his room and shut the door, being extra careful to lock it. You followed him to the edge of the bed, watching how he removed the rest of his clothing slowly, making sure your eyes never left him. Your eyes were everywhere, from his face, his chest, all the way down to his hardening length. He cupped your face and dragged his hands down to your neck, then to cup your breasts.
He slowly pulled the straps of your nightie down and left open mouthed kisses on any inch of skin that became exposed. Stopping at your nipples, he made sure to suck and massage them before continuing his journey down your body. Soon the gown reached your pelvic bones and he wasted no time in hooking a finger under the waistband of your panties to pull them down with the rest of the material. You were both now completely naked, skin basking in the candlelight. He pulled you onto the bed with him and sat against the headboard making you straddle his lap.
This time you didn't wait for him to make a move and kissed him with your hands linked behind his neck. His hands were all over you massaging circles into the flesh. Tongues wrapped around each other like a waltz, a work of team effort. Your body called for oxygen, the kiss becoming too intense but neither of you cared enough to let go. You took initiative to stop the kiss before it snatched the last breath in your lungs.
"Ride me." he pressed down on your hips as he ground up against your core.
You let out a shaky breath as you leaned forward on your knees and aligned your hole with the head of his dick. The stretch as you gradually eased your way down was magnificent and he bit his lip as he watched your face contort from the pleasure. The more you bounced on top of him the less he could control his sounds. The squelching noise that came from your bodies clashing only added to the vulgar sounds that filled the room. He ran a hand up your back and grabbed a handful of your hair. He tugged at it roughly and sucked and licked on the vulnerable skin on your neck. His other hand came around to grab your ass, digging his nails in and spreading it so your pussy opened more.
Your head was spinning, so much overstimulation, you knew you wouldn't last much longer. His strokes were getting sloppier indicating he was just as close.
"Fuck-I love you so much" he said through grunts. He knew what he wanted to do next based off of your response. If he were to get over you, he'd have to expose his true self even if that meant scaring you away.
"I love you too Kyungsoo~" your mouth hung open and you moaned his name, toes curling from your impending orgasm. You needed just a little more to push you over the edge.
He took that as a sign to carry out his plan. He let the lust consume him fully, baring his fangs, sinking them into your neck and not letting up on the animalistic pace he set. It was painful but it mixed so deliciously with how he rolled his hips into you. Your eyes rolled back and your body tensed up. It's what has your orgasm hitting you like a train, vision turning white. The feeling was incredible even though as you came down from your high, you can't tell what just happened.
Just the image of you in this moment could make him cum, but that combined with the taste of your blood was heaven sent. He had never had anything like it. So fresh, sweet and pure. He never thought living his fantasy would play out so soon but your reaction was even more surprising. He didn't count on you enjoying it and wanted to use it as an escape route, but here he was drowning in the sight of you cumming all over him which lead to his own orgasm. He sucked in a breath, abs contracting as he painted your walls white.
You looked down at him and couldn’t believe the astonishing sight. He looked beautiful, dashing red eyes and canines sharper than a knife. As the few drops of blood trickled from the side of his mouth, everything all made sense now. The strange man you've come to fall in love with these past few days was a vampire. It’s why he carried such a mysterious aura, why he smelled so ethereal, why his presence was so lethal.
He had you speechless and now he was even more scared awaiting your next words. He licked the remaining drops from his lips, eyes wide. “Please say something.” His eyes searched your face for anything but he couldn’t decipher your expression.
“Kyungsoo…you’re beautiful. I-I don’t know what else to say.”
Tears brimmed his eyes knowing you didn’t hate him for who he was. Though now, his ploy of using this to get over you fell through and he had nothing left to try. Truthfully he wasn’t going to try. He loved you deeply and if he had to live with you married to someone else, he would take whatever he could get. You were his forever, he would never allow himself to love anyone else. He hated that he fought for the top spot with Jongin but the heart wants what it wants and as you said to him before he wasn’t going to not give it what it wanted.
Lying to yourself wasn’t an option anymore. You thought you would be scared seeing him in his true form, but it added so much depth to his character that you couldn’t help but be attracted. You knew now that life without Kyungsoo would throw you into a deep depression. You needed him like your organs needed blood.
Morning came and you felt your eyes had only been closed for 5 minutes. When they finally opened you quickly processed that you weren’t where you were supposed to be. There was a loud knock on the door and you looked at Kyungsoo’s sleeping form next to you. Another knock woke him up and he quickly threw the blanket over you and told you to stay quiet and lay down. He put on whatever clothing he discarded last night and shuffled over to the door.
“Oh, sorry to wake you but I’m looking for the Princess, she’s not in her room and I wondered if you knew where she was but it looks like you haven’t left your room this morning.”
You heard Vivian’s voice from under the cover and cursed under your breath. You swore you would make it back to your room last night and ended up staying with the man you definitely shouldn’t be caught with.
“I will be out momentarily and I will help you look for her. Perhaps she is outside or in another area of the castle.” Kyungsoo made up an excuse as fast as his mind could conjure and shooed Vivian away. He returned to you after he closed the door and removed the blanket from your head. “They’re looking for you, you know what today is.”
You got up and gathered all your clothes before making your way to your bathroom unseen with Kyungsoo’s help. He left your room after kissing your forehead and going to tell Vivian that he “found you”.
What a way to start off your proposal day. You’re just glad that Jongin wasn’t the one running around the castle in search for you. Vivian came knocking on the bathroom door a few minutes later.
“Why didn’t I think to check here first?” She says tapping a finger to her lips when you opened the door. “Your father has requested you meet him downstairs in 10 minutes, so we need to hurry.”
After much preparation in so little time, you made your way down to the main hall to see both of your parents, Jongin and Kyungsoo standing there. You knew what this meant and it had your nerves jumping. After such a long wait, you were finally here at the end goal, something you thought to be so far away. Jongin and Kyungsoo bowed when you reached the bottom of the stairs, a big smile plastered over Jongin’s face.
“As you know, Prince Jongin has been coming to spend his hours with us over a long period of time in hopes that he would one day ask for your hand in marriage. Today he would like to go forward with that and make you his wife so long as you should accept.”
A lump formed in your throat as your father spoke. Tears fought to leave your eyes but you held them back as much as you could.
Jongin went and bowed slightly in front of your parents. “Your highness, if you would please allow me to take your daughter as my wife and protect her with my all as her husband.”
Your parents nodded their head, your mother also fighting the urge to cry. You quickly glance at Kyungsoo whose eyes were watching you. You both knew of what you had to do and would have to deal with it for the rest of your lives. So when Jongin stepped in front of you, you knew what came next.
“Princess…will you accept my proposal and spend the rest of your life with me as my wife?” He looks over at Kyungsoo before continuing. “You will have free reign to do whatever you please as long as you promise to never let your love fade.”
You gasped softly, no longer able to contain the tears. This whole time he knew of your feelings for Kyungsoo but wouldn’t let his feelings for you dissipate. You turned such a happy moment into something sorrowful unbeknownst to the onlookers.
“I accept your proposal Jongin and you have my word.”
Cheers erupted all around you and Jongin pulled you into a hug, him too letting tears fall onto his cheeks.
Your fate was sealed, destined to marry the man of your dreams while you got the dick wet of another. There was no turning back, especially not with the child brewing in your womb belonging to the man you snuck and spent your last night single with. You would have to face the burden of it all one day but as for now, you mentally crossed off today; the day you longed so earnestly for.

Pairing: Vampire! Baekhyun x Reader
Warnings: Stalking, Launuage etc
Word Count: 5.3k
"Who the fuck brought a human home?"
You sat there, your stomach twisting as nerves filled your body. You couldn't help but twiddle your fingers as you stared at these men who had such disgust on their faces. You subtly glanced at the men, taking in the features of each one. They were exactly like Baekhyun, stone cold faces, pale but extremely handsome.
Seconds later it hit you. Human? Why did they ask who brought a human home? Weren't you all humans? What was he talking about?
You looked back at the one who asked the question. You opened your mouth, ready to question his question but before you were able to speak, the bedroom door swung open, and in walks Baekhyun. He looks around the room, glaring at the men who surrounded you.
"What the hell are you guys doing in here?" He asks, walking towards the bed, where you were huddled up.
"Ah, Baekhyun, well then that makes sense." One of them says, The rest all nodded their heads.
"What?" Baekhyun asks.
"Why is she here?" A man asks, looking at Baekhyun with a pissed off face.
"She was in trouble when I was dropping her off. She needed somewhere to go, Suho, she doesn't know anything.” Baekhyun tells him.
What was he talking about?
“What is it that I don't know?” you ask.
“Get her the fuck out of here. You know the rules, Baekhyun.” Suho yells, walking out of the room with the rest of the men following closely behind him.
“Get dressed, we gotta go.” Baekhyun says, turning around to walk out the door, closing it behind him. You quickly scramble out of the bed, slipping on your pants and your shoes before walking towards the door at a quick pace. When you open it, Baekhyun is standing there. He doesn't say a word to you but instead grabs your wrist, pulling you towards the large staircase. His hand feels like ice on your wrist.
You tried to question him as the two of you descended down the stairs, but ignored you, he was in a rush to get you out of the house. You didn't know what you did to whoever that was in your room this morning, but it was very clear that you were not welcomed in this house.
“Baekhyun.” You call out as the two of you walk out the front door. He still doesn't acknowledge you as he slides himself into the driver's seat of his car. You get into the passenger seat, crossing your arms, annoyed at the lack of communication skills he apparently didn't have.
“Are you not going to answer me?” you ask, turning to look at him while he focuses on the road. He doesn’t say anything for the remainder of the drive with you, you guys sat in complete silence.
Baekhyun pulls into the parking lot at your apartment, he parks, turns off the engine and turns to face you. His eyes stare deeply into yours, making your heart flutter. He starts leaning in closely to you, you lean into him. He raises his hand, placing it on your cheek, the coldness sends a shiver down your spine. He moves in closer until finally,he presses his lips to yours, and you feel fireworks. Baekhyun begins to deepen the kiss, slipping his tongue into your mouth as you melt into the kiss. He begins to pull back, his teeth gently biting your bottom lip, he pricks your lip before swiping his tongue over the small cut, healing it without you knowing. Now that he’s tasted your blood, he knows no other males can take you. It gives him a little bit of comfort before he says what he’s going to say to you.
“That was.. Wow.” you exclaim. It was like something out of a book, a kiss like you’d never had before.
“I’m sorry, Y/N.” He says quietly, almost in a whisper, as “’I shouldn't have kissed you, or gotten involved with you. I knew better than to do that. You just..” he pauses, “You need to pretend I don't exist. Forget you ever met me.” He finishes.
He turns to look at you. He hates seeing the pain and confusion in your face. He more so hates that he’s the one that's causing it, mates are supposed to make things better, heal and protect you, while loving you unconditionally, but he was doing the complete opposite. He wished he could explain it to you, he wished he could stop your pain, it would be easy for him but he couldn’t risk exposing himself and the others. He wished he was able to take your memories of him, but he can't, mates can't manipulate mates.
Baekhyun puts the car in park, turning to look at you. He can’t fully read your face. It's a mixture of anger, sadness and confusion. And he understood that. “Why?” you ask. “I’ve felt a very strong pull to you and I know you’ve felt it too, so I'm confused on why you're suddenly trying to leave me.”
Baekhyun felt a pang in his heart, one that he hadn’t ever felt before. He didn’t want to leave you, but he couldn't tell you that. He couldn't say anything to you that would make you think there was a chance he didn't mean what he was saying. You needed to believe that he didn't want you.
“Nothing is going to happen between us, understand? There was nothing between us anyways.” he says.
You turn your head, you can see the window to your apartment, your curtain drawn, and suddenly it moves. You can see someone peeking behind the curtains. You immediately know it's Chad.
“Do you want me to handle him?” Baekhyun asks.
You shift in your seat, unsure of whether you say yes or no to his offer. You didn't want to feel like a burden, especially to have someone protect you that doesn't want to do it.
“No” you whisper, moving your body away from him. “Thanks for the ride.” you say, getting out of the car and walking away from him.
Once you’re back in your apartment, a crying Chad stands in your kitchen, with his head hanging down. “Why are you still here?” You sigh, placing your purse on the table.
“I truly feel awful for hurting you like that. I was not in my right mind, and I'm so sorry. I love you, Y/N, please forgive me?” he asks.
“Chad.” you begin. “I forgive you but I do not want to be with you. This is a one sided relationship and you have anger issues that you need to deal with. You need to leave and you need to leave me alone now. We're done. I’m going for coffee, you have an hour to grab your stuff and go, whatever you leave is going to donations.” you finish. You walk out the door and head outside, heading towards the coffee shop near your house. You sat with your drink, thinking about what Baekhyun had said to you. You had heard him loud and clear and that he didn’t want you but you didn’t believe it.
An hour later you wander back to your apartment, walking in immediately you notice a lot of your things on the floor, along with broken plates and glasses. You look around some more, seeing your clothes thrown all around your room, some of your shirts and pants are ripped, your bed is messed up, your pillow is cut open with feathers laying all over your bed and floor. You go to the living room and your TV has been pushed over, and your gaming console is gone.
“Fucking Chad!” you scream. You fall to the floor crying, not over the broken things or the torn up clothes, not even over your console. Your heart hurts so bad from Baekhyun’s words. There was something between the two of you, you knew it and so did he, even if he didn't want to admit it.
You let yourself be sad for a little bit before you decided to get back at CHad. he was the one who fucked up but hes taking it out on you? Real mature. You take pictures of all your broken things, your clothes, your bedding, your tv and your lack of console and march over to the police station to press charges. If he wanted to be petty, you could be petty right fucking back. When you were done at the police station you went to the bar, you really hoped he would be working today but unfortunately he wasn't there but one of the men who stood in the room to intimidate you was behind the bar.
The handsome man stared at you as you walked up to the bar. “Good afternoon.” He says, his voice is deep. “What can I get for you?” he asks.
“Double vodka and cran, please.” You say. You sounded so sad and monotone.
“Are you okay?” He asks, smiley widely. He stares into your eyes as you look at him while he smiles, he's waiting for you to get into the daze, where you'll do whatever he asks of you, but it never comes. He hands you your drink, frowning at you. “What's with that expression? You were very pissed off early this morning.” You say, taking a big gulp.
“I thought that was you.” He says clearing his throat. “My apologies for that.”
“It's fine.” You sigh. He continues to stare at you, confusion plastered on his face while he thinks, and then it hits him.
“Oh fuck no.” He mutters. “I'll be right back.” He says to you before disappearing into the back.
Seconds later you feel a presence beside you. You look over and there's another handsome, pale, dark haired man sitting beside you, but this one you did not recognize.
“Where did the bartender go?” He asks. You shrug your shoulders.
“Into the back, I think, he looked mad.” You say, finishing your drink. “He needs to hurry up though, I need another one.” You sigh.
“Bad day?” He asks, your mind flashes back to the night you met Baekhyun and he had asked you the same thing.
“You could say that.” You reply. “What about you? Why are you drinking at 3pm?” you ask.
“Bad day.” He says. “Lady problems.”
“You can vent to me if you want, I'd love something to take my mind off today.” You suggest. “I'm Y/N by the way.” You half smile. He turns to look at you, a smile plastered over his face. “I'm Jaehyun.” He responds. “It all started two weeks ago..”
**
In the back, Chanyeol angrily pulled out his phone. He quickly dialed Baekhyun's number, anger flowing through him.
“Hello?” Baekhyun answers.
“Please tell me you're not a huge fucking moron? Please say you didn't do what I think you did.” Chanyeol begs.
“I.. didn't do it? I don't know what you're talking about dude.” Baekhyun says.
“Did you fucking mark her? Did you mark Y/N? Because she's sitting at the bar, completely unbothered by me.” Chanyeol yells.
“She's there?” Baekhyun asks. “I'm coming.”
“No. Suho said you can't see her anymore, remember? And if he finds out you marked her.. it's going to be bad.” Chanyeol says.
“Yeah I know but fuck I need to see her, please man.” Baekhyun begs.
“I'll keep an eye on her.” Chanyeol says. “Stay away. Besides, Jaehyun is here talking to her already. Don't ruin your plan.” Chanyeol finishes before hanging up. He takes a deep breath before heading back out to serve customers.
**
You and Jaehyun talked for hours. You sat at the bar, drinking, chatting about life.
“I told you my history.” Jaehyun smiles. “Now it’s your turn.”
“Are you sure you want to hear this?” you chuckle.
He nods his head yes.
“Alright then, buckle up.” you giggle. “I was dating this guy named Chad”.” you began. Jaehyun stopped you there, immediately.
“That's your first mistake. Chad?” he says, cringing.
“Just wait.” you laugh. “We dated for over a year, and he did absolutely nothing. He never planned anything, he never went out of his way to do something nice for me but expected me to do anything for him at the drop of a hat. One day, he brought his clothes over in a garbage bag and then he kinda just like never left.” you shrugged
“And you accepted that?” Jaehyun asks.
You nod your head. “I didn't think I could do any better, but don’t worry, it gets worse.” you tell him. “He didn't help with any of the bills. He never bought groceries, he spent all his money on himself and his boys, Brad and Connor. They even showed up to our valentine's day date and then left in the middle of it, Chad included and left me to pay the entire bill.”
“Wait, hold on a second. Chad, Brad and Connor?” he asks.
“The three musketeers.” you laugh.
“Is there more?” he asks, hesitantly.
“There's a lot more.” you sigh. “So one night I'm stressed out trying to figure out how to pay my bills, if there's a bill I can skip paying, whatever. So Chad calls me over, he’s playing on my console again, and asks me to get him snacks. I asked him if he was going to pay for said snacks and he said he didn't have any money.” you say rolling your eyes. “So I lost it. And I mean lost it on him. I unplugged my console and i told him to get the fuck out of my apartment. I left and wandered for a while, and I ended up here.” you say, your voice going a little quieter. “That night I met Baekhyun, and seeing him for the first time felt like home.” you explain. “I know that sounds cheesy or whatever, but I had never felt so comfortable and safe around a person before.”
Jaehyun just nods his head as he continues listening.
“I ended up getting really drunk, he and I talked for hours before I had to go home. So I left, Chad was still there but I just needed to go to bed. I woke up in the morning, called in sick to work and Chad was still gaming.” you sigh. “But oh i forgot, Brad had brought him snacks because i was throwing a temper tantrum and he wanted me to venmo Brad for the snacks.”
“Please tell me you kicked his ass out?” Jaehyun asks.
“I did, and he left. But there’s more. I took the weekend and ate junk and did whatever, then on Monday evening I came back to the bar, and Baekhyun and I talked some more, and he was proud of me for kicking out Chad. but then he texted me, asking to talk.” you sigh.
“Oh no. Please don’t tell me..” Jaehyun cringes.
“He sucked me back in, promising to change and blah blah. There wasn't even a second that he tried to change. But I just accepted the fact that this was going to be my life, and I would be stuck with a man like Chad or just Chad for the rest of my life. But I was barely home, and he didn't notice. I spent my time here if i wasnt working and Baekhyun and I got really close. Honestly he knew me better then Chad knew me. And then one night, Baekhyun cut me off. He told me that I needed to go home because there was a storm coming. I told him I would just get a room at the motel across the street but he heavily objected to that.” you laugh.
“Good, that place is infested with roaches and rats.” Jaehyun says.
“He brought me home himself. We opened the door to a surprise party for me, for my birthday.” you tell him.
“Was it your birthday?” he asks you.
“Nope.” you giggle. “Anyways, Chad was mad that i didn't appreciate his effort of inviting 2 people i know, which are his best friends and the rest being only people they knew. He was also very whiskey drunk, he grabbed me, Baekhyun intervened and took me back to his house.” you continue. “ I slept there, woke up to seven men standing around the bed, I got kicked out, Baekhyun drove me home, he kissed me.” you sigh. “He kissed me and then told me to forget about him and that there's nothing between us.” you weep. You didnt want to cry but fuck your heart hurt. You sniffle and take a big breath. “ I went back to my apartment and Chad was still there. He was crying and saying sorry. I told him to get his stuff and leave. So I went for coffee and when I got back he had trashed the place and stolen my console.” you smile, chugging your drink before waving it at Chanyeol, who comes over with another one.
“And I thought I had problems.” Jaehyun says. He was absolutely flabbergasted. “This is some of the craziest shit I've ever heard. Your life is like a movie, holy shit.” Jaehyun says. You laugh at his comment and take another sip of your new drink. It’s quiet now, only the whispers of others at tables, the soft beating of the music above.
You turn your head to look at Jaehyun, but he’s already looking at you. He leans in closely, staring at you with a dazzling smile but while you're looking at him you feel nothing. He was nice, and you wanted to be his friend but that was it. There was no attraction to him. He places his hand on your thigh and moves in closer. “You’re beautiful,” he whispers.
“You’re more beautifuler.” you hiccup, trying to focus on him, focus on his hand on your thigh, but you feel nothing. There’s no butterflies, there is no nervousness. You felt nothing when he touched you. Jaehyun continues to stare at you, confused, as you begin to slide off the stool. You continued to look at him, the thought finally donning on you. You felt nothing for him.
“Huh.” you whisper, looking at him. “Absolutely nothing.” you shake your head at the thought. “Barkeeper!” you yell. “What do I owe you?” you ask.
Chanyeol nods his head towards Jaehyun and says “he took care of your tab for you already.” you turn towards Jaehyun again and thank him before stumbling your way out of the bar.
Behind you chanyeol looks at Jaehyun and gestures towards you. Jaehyun understands, and he’ll make sure you get home safe.
You walk along the sidewalk, stumbling here and there but you're okay. You can hear people talking behind you so you feel better knowing that you're not alone, until you really focus on what they're saying.
“She's really drunk, she'd probably be easy.” One man says.
“Doesn't she know how easy it would be to throw her in the back alley and do whatever we wanted?” Another laughs. You felt like you recognized the voices, but they were also deeper than anyone you knew. You were anxious and you did your best to pick up your pace and get home quickly. As you turned a corner the men continued on going straight. You felt some relief as you finished the last block to your apartment. You ran inside the building and quickly made your way up to your floor. You unlocked your door, slamming it closed behind you before locking the deadbolt. You put your keys and purse on the table, but couldn't help but feel like something was off. You quietly tiptoed around the house looking around, but you didn't see anything. You shook it off as paranoia and got ready for bed. You slept decently that night, but dreamt of Baekhyun the whole time. You missed him.
**
For the next few weeks your days remained the same, you woke up and felt like something wasn’t right. The few weeks that you felt were off, you were never able to place what was making you feeling off, you shook it off to still get over everything you had gone through with Chad and Baekhyun. You went to work, barely survived the day before going home and making your way to the bar, and 9/10 times Jaehyun was sitting at the bar, your drink set down next to him in a spot that he declared as yours. Though, on the off chance Jaehyun hadn't shown up at the bar, you had become pretty good friends with the two bartender’s that alternated nights. Chanyeol and Jongdae, they were both chipper, goofy and extremely good listeners, but they were also good at keeping their mouths shut, especially whenever you asked about Baekhyun, and you asked at least twice a night. One night after drinking a little too much, you had told Chanyeol that you were going to try to drive out to the house to see Baekhyun.
The once smiling man’s face turned stone cold. “Don’t you ever try to go out there by yourself, ever.” he snaps. You stay quiet and nod your head every so slightly as his eyes stay trained on you. “Do you understand?” he asks.
You nod your head again.
“I need to hear it Y/N. Do you understand?” he asks again.
“Yes.. yes i understand.”
You just wanted to know that he was okay, to see him, or really find out why he couldn’t talk to you. No one would tell you anything, not even Jaehyun, being left to your own imagination was almost torture. Even though Jaehyun wouldn’t tell you shit about Baekhyun, he had honestly become a very good friend to you. He fixed your shower when you needed help, he helped move in a new mattress to your place, the two of you went for coffee or dinner, if you weren’t at the bar, you were very good friends, and to your surprise that was honestly all it was. You had no sexual desire towards Jaehyun in the slightest which seemed weird to you. Clearly he was just your type but you wanted nothing but a platonic friendship from him.
You missed Baekhyun. Even though you knew better than him showing up to work at the bar, you still hoped you might catch a glimpse of him, but in the weeks that it’s been, you hadn't given up hope.
That night you said goodbye to Chaneyol and caught a cab home, you fell asleep pretty quickly and dreamt of nothing that night. In the morning you crawled out of your bed and shuffled to the kitchen to make yourself some coffee. You glanced down at your kitchen table as you passed it and something made you halt. You looked down and there laid out on the table was a picture of you, sleeping. and it was from last night. You quickly went around, making sure all your windows were shut and locked, and you looked at your front door, it was still locked. So how did someone get inside?
At that point you had completely forgotten about making your coffee and headed towards the bathroom to hop into the shower before you had to go to work, trying to shake off the uneasy feeling you had. As you wash your body, you’re startled by the sound of something breaking. You rinse your body quickly and turn the shower off, wrapping yourself in a towel, and you walk carefully to the kitchen. You see a glass shattered on the floor, you look around and everything is still where you had left it, the door was still locked as were the windows. You tried your best to shake that off as well, but you couldn't stop thinking about either of it. It was still on your mind when you walked into work that day, heading towards your cubicle, and you see a vase of dead roses placed nicely on your desk.
You were beginning to get thoroughly creeped out now and you weren’t sure who could be doing this. You went through your day with a terrible feeling in your stomach. As much as you tried to tell yourself it was okay, it wasn't and you were scared. That evening you didn't even bother to go home. You went straight to the bar, where Jaehyun just happened to be sitting.
“Hey stranger.” he smiles. “Double vodka and cran for her please.” he says to the bartender.
“Hi.” you say quietly.
“What's up? You okay?” he asks, seeming concerned.
“Some weird things happened today. I'm a little shaken up about it.” you admit.
“Like what?” he asks, adjusting his position.
“First I woke up to a picture of me sleeping on my table, then I was in the shower and a glass broke, and I went to work and there were a dozen dead roses on my desk.” you sigh, taking a big gulp of your drink. Jaehyun looks at you worriedly, but you wave him off.
“I'm sure it's just someone trying to be funny. Probably just a one time thing” you smile. “How was your day?” you ask.
“I really didn’t do much.” he sighs. “I ran a few errands, did a little bit of work and that was pretty much the most exciting thing,” he says. He still looks at you concerned, you roll your eyes at him.
“Everything is just fine.” you tell him. “I’m going to the bathroom, will you please stop worrying.” you laugh, trying to seem nonchalant about it. As soon as you were out of ear shot, Jaehyun pulls out his phone, dialing a very familiar number.
“Baekhyun, there’s something weird going on.” Jaehyun explains. “Someone is messing with her. Whoever it is has been in her apartment, and she’s acting like it’s nothing but I don’t think it is.”
“Do whatever you need to do to figure it out, Jaehyun, you need to keep her safe. Nothing fucking happens to her.” Baekhyun says before hanging up the phone.
Jaehyun hoped for the person’s sake, it was a one time thing.
It wasn’t a one time thing.
Unfortunately for the next few weeks, at least 4 times a week, something different happened. You swore you felt like you were losing your mind. You would wake up in the morning, go and turn on your coffee pot that always sat on your kitchen counter and then make your way to the bathroom while it brewed. When you would get out of the bathroom, you’d go back into the kitchen and your coffee pot would be on your island plugged into the outlet on the island and the pot was full of coffee.
You would buy groceries, put them away in their designated spots, and the next time you would go get said snack, it wouldn't be where you left it. In the mornings when you’d get into your car to go to work, you’d notice your rearview mirror would be adjusted into a different spot, and you tried to think if there was ever a time that you had actually adjusted it. When you would come home from work, to set your stuff down to get ready to walk to the bar, you would notice a dead rose laying in the middle of the floor of your bedroom. You would open the fridge, you’d see a wilted rose petal on the shelf. In the following days you had also found one in your bed, on your couch, in the bathroom, and in your car, along with your rearview mirror having been adjusted each time.
But tonight was the icing on the cake. You had gotten home from work, unlocked your door and entered your apartment. You walk in, placing your keys on the kitchen table when you hear a faint hissing. Your stomach drops as you look around. You look towards your bedroom and see nothing, but as you turn your head to look at the living room, you see the biggest snake you’ve ever seen, hissing and slithering quickly towards you. You never thought you could move so fast, being so scared. You let out the loudest shriek, before fumbling to get to the door, you needed to get out.
Now, you were extremely scared. You hadn’t told Jaehyun about any of the other things that were happening because you didn’t want him to worry about you, but now you were panicking that you weren’t going to be able to take care of yourself. On your way down the hallway, you run into movers bringing things into the vacant apartment that was two doors down from you. As you’re fast walking past the open door, a woman steps out into the hallway, trying to block your way. “Hi.” She says, but you’re not focused on her. You needed to get out of there, and find someone to help you, and you knew exactly who to find.
You ran into the bar and disappointment filled you, as you see Jaehyun’s usual seat is empty. You sit down next to it, pulling out your phone to call him as your usual drink is set down in front of you. Your call rings, but goes to voicemail after three rings. You decide to try again, but again it goes to voicemail and this time you leave one.
“Hey, it’s me.” you sigh. “I was really hoping you would be here tonight, some fucking weird stuff has been happening and i’m really scared. There was a goddamn snake in my apartment, and Jae, I don't know what to do. Please call me as soon as you get this.” you sigh. You hang up, and set your phone down on the bar and take a long sip of your drink to try and settle your shaking hand. You take a few deep breaths before your phone begins to ring. Quickly, you answer it, hoping it’s Jaehyun.
“Hello?” you ask.
No reply.
“Hello?” you say again, noticing an echo of your voice through the phone. You take the phone from your ear and look around, but there is barely anyone in the bar. “Who is this?” you ask, and again no response, just your voice faintly coming through, with the same song playing on both ends.
You end the call, and stand up. Something didn’t feel right. Your whole body was panicked, and your face must have showed it. You slapped a couple bills on the bar, not bothering to count it before you left. Just as you began heading for the door, Chanyeol stepped out from the back. He noticed your worried face, and scared body language. He tried to call out for you but you didn’t hear him. He pulls out his phone to call Baekhyun, he could feel something wasn’t right.
“She just left the bar. She didn’t look right, she looked scared, Baek. Jaehyun isn’t here, I don't know where he is but something’s not right.” Chanyeol says. Baekhyun doesn't reply, he hangs up the phone and Chanyeol questions himself, whether or not he did the right thing.
As you’re walking, tingles of hyper-awareness have all muscles in your body, twitching at every noise. You picked up the pace of your steps, your eyes looking all around you. As you begin to pass an alley on your left, you see a darker shadow. Before you can breathe out a scream, your arm and collar are pulled into the darkness. A hand covers your mouth as you try to fight off whoever had you… You weren't going to let anyone take you.

A Manor of Shadow and Blood
Tumblr media
Genre: Regency Gothic AU
Pairing: EXO x Reader
Summary: A stormy night brought you to the manor in the middle of the woods. Nine strange men occupied its halls. They won’t let you leave. A dangerous secret haunts this estate. Learning it might either be your saving grace or it could lead to the last breath you ever take.
Part: 1 I 2 I 3 I 4 I 5
**
The grand hall was lit as bright as midday. Every surface was polished to perfection, reflecting the candlelight at a greater force. Brilliant brass and gold surrounded you as you made your way through the dancing couples, their movements in perfect sync. Wrapped in each other's arms, they spin around without a care for your wandering presence.
While all who surrounded you were decorated in blacks and whites, your own dress was the color of freshly spilled blood. The heavy skirts that hug from your waist made it difficult to navigate the ballroom. Their fullness was of an older fashion, one that maybe your grandmother would have worn in her youth. The dropped shoulders left you exposed, your skin chilled despite the amount of bodies in here.
You kept navigating the dance floor, on the look out for something, though you didn’t know what. Then you felt the familiar burn of eyes boring into your back, which sent a shiver down your spine. You whirled around to find the source, the dress brushing at your feet with the sudden motion. Through the crowd, you spotted Baekhyun leaning against the wall. With a single finger, he beckoned you over. And you obeyed.
Breaking through the sea of dancers, you took in his elegant suit, the hems lined with gold thread that shimmered against black velvet.
"You shouldn't dance alone," he purred. Arms crossed over his chest, he smirked at you with a grin even the devil wouldn't wear.
"I have no partner," you retorted. He held out a lazy hard. Hardly the romantic gesture. "No, thank you."
"How about me?" asked a sweet voice in your ear.
You turned your head to find Junmyeon at your back. He laid a soft hand on your hip to keep you from escaping out of propriety. When you didn’t shove him away, the hand slyly moved to your stomach, pulling your bare shoulder blades into his chest. With the fingers of his left hand, he tilted your chin towards him.
"Am I a suitable partner?"
No answer passed your lips. You could think of nothing to say. The thought of him twirling you around the dance floor was not… unpleasant.
Junmyeon neither needed nor cared for a reply. He dipped his head to your shoulder and pressed a kiss to the skin. A small gasp passed your lips. And then he pressed another. More and more as he climbed up the curve of your neck. Heat rose from every inch of you as you sighed into the affectionate touches. You relaxed into his touch, welcoming each new contact of his lips.
"It's rude not to share, Junmyeon.”
Your attention snapped back to Baekhyun, who you had forgotten was there. He pushed himself off the wall and stepped closer to you so he stood in front of the minor.
No, not a mirror. There was no reflection.
Except… there was. The mirror reflected the floor, the ceiling, the candlelight. You.
But not Baekhyun. Not Junmyeon. And not the dancers still spinning behind you.
Fingers snaked through your hair and pulled your head back, your vulnerable neck exposed. From the gallery above, Kyungsoo watched as elongated fangs flashed behind Junmyeon’s lips and plunged into your neck.
*****
You woke with a start, the blanket flying off of you as you sat up in a fury. Sweet drenched every pore of your skin. Your day old dress clung to your skin in a way that felt suffocating. Each breath was a struggle for your lungs.
Vampires. The nightmarish tale that had kept you up as a child until you were convinced they weren't real turned out to be true. But how could they be real?
Creatures of the night. Blood drinkers. Horror stories meant to keep children from wandering about after dark.
Curling your legs to your chest and encasing them in your arms, you tried to think of a way out. To escape. With what strength you possessed, you slid off the bed and walked over to the window. The sun, so bright and full of life, was just beginning its descent towards the horizon. Night–their domain–was hours away. If the legends were true, then they would all be asleep at this moment. Any risk that was to be taken had to be taken now.
After changing into a sturdier dress, you retrieved your still mud-covered boots and, keeping them in one hand, you carefully pushed away the pathetic barrier and snuck out of the room.
Each step was taken with unmatched caution. You tested every board with your foot before fully committing. Any squeak of a floor or stumble down a stair could alert them to your escape. But by the grace of a miracle, you made it to the front door. Fingers trembling, you pulled on the boots and tied up the laces before opening the door only wide enough for you to slink through.
The next breath taken outside was like the first breath of life. But there was no time to take it in.
Gathering your skirts in your grip, you took off into the trees. The dirt was dry and sturdy under your feet. Branches and leaves crunched with the weight of your boots. A lady’s delicacy was out of the question as you ran without abandon. You didn't know what direction you were running. But vampires needed blood to survive and they weren’t drinking yours. And Jongdae had brought those buns from a bakery, not their own kitchen. You doubted any of them knew how to cook. That meant a village or town had to be nearby. Junmyeon had lied about the isolation of the manor. If you just kept going, you could find freedom.
However, your stamina was running out. This was never your preferred activity. Your lungs and throat burned in an unfamiliar way. The sun still shined above. A short respite could be spared.
You leaned against a tree trunk for support. In your boots your feet pulsed. Only now did you realize that you had run away without food or water. Not knowing where the kitchen was located, you didn't have time to waste on it. You could survive, you told yourself. Just a little farther. The town couldn’t be too far. Unless you were headed in the wrong direction.
A rustling rippled through the silent forest. You snapped to attention, trying to find the source.
“The wind,” you gasped between ragged breaths. “It had to be the wind.”
A low, rumbling growl said it wasn't wind.
In the distance, large silhouettes emerged. Wolves. Nearly a dozen of them.
You ran as fast as your crying legs could take you. With their superior nature built for the hunt, the wolves caught up to you within seconds. Their growls and howls grew louder and more threatening behind you. Running from the manor had been easy. Running from the wolves was to be your end.
Powerful paws slammed into your back. You were thrown to the ground, rolling across the ground as a scream ripped at your throat. The momentum stopped you on your stomach. Hair covered your face, but you could still see your death through the strands.
Wolves of gray and black gathered in a half moon circle. They had their prey in perfect position. The middle wolf pounced. All you had time to do was throw up your arms to protect your face. Claws raked across your forearm. Another scream echoed through the merciless trees. The wolf landed on the other side of you with pride. Now you were surrounded. A second wolf leapt.
A blur appeared in front of you and collided with the wolf midair. The two bodies tumbled across the forest floor. A human and the wolf.
Not a human.
Chanyeol. The wolf trapped within his grasp, Chanyeol tightened his grip–
Crack.
The wolf fell limply to the ground, its tongue hanging from its jaw.
The others appeared seconds later. Not understanding what they were up against, the wolves let you go to attack the newest threat.
"Are you alright?" Junmyeon knelt down in front of you. His hands were outstretched as if you were the wild animal on the verge of attack. Behind him, snarls and whimpers told of the fight–and who was winning. Despite not answering him, he caught sight of your bleeding arm. "We need to get back to the manor."
He didn't ask permission before picking you up into his arms and sprinting through the forest. Everything blurred past you, your loose hair whipping at your face. He burst through the manor doors and didn't stop until he was able to set you down in the largest chair. Once you were safe, he fell to his knees, only his palms keeping him upright. The others soon stumbled in behind him, heaving and collapsing onto the floor. Only then did you notice the smoke floating up from each of their backs. Patches of burnt, red skin sizzled on their knuckles and faces. Anything that had been exposed to the sun.
"Baekhyun," Junmyeon gasped.
"I already have it." Kyungsoo came into the parlor with bottles stacked in his arms. He quickly passed them around, waiting until the others were quenching their thirst before pulling the cork out of his own bottle and chugging the contents.
With his bottle empty, Junmyeon tossed it to the side and wiped his mouth with his sleeve. Red smears stained the ivory fabric. You shrank back in the chair as he turned towards you.
"What hell were you thinking!" He growled. "I warned you about the wolves!"
"Junmyeon, she's shaken up enough," Jongdae defended. Before your eyes, his burnt skin healed to be like new.
"She could have been killed!"
Your head was pounding. He was… concerned about your life? The legends said that the sun was a vampire's deadliest enemy. It was why they thrived in the darkness. But they had all risked a final death to come after you.
"Did you hear me scream?" you whispered. You could barely feel your own lips moving. All heads tuned to you.
Yixing was the one to answer. "Yes. We all heard you."
"Why were you out there?" Sehun asked aggressively.
You sucked in a sharp breath. There was no escaping the truth now. You stared at Jongdae. "I figured it out.”
Baekhyun laughed. "At least we don't have to walk around delicately anymore."
"When exactly did you do so?" Minseok mocked.
"Then you should remember what I said to you before was true. Harm would not come to you within these walls." Junmyeon crouched down next to the chair. His eyes... there was something behind the darkness that tugged at your still wildly beating heart. "I know you were running away. And if you're desperate to get away enough to get yourself killed, then the choice can be yours. We can send you on your way with every provision. Or," he cleared his throat, "you stay here. With us."
A choice? He was giving you a choice?
Your gaze drifted over the faces that stared back at you. Even Kyungsoo refused to look away while he waited. There was almost a plea in his expression, a subtle beg. But was it to stay? Or for you to run as far away as possible?
Junmeyon took your attention away when he picked up your wounded arm with delicate fingers. His pleading was much more clear.
To leave would be the better choice. The more sane choice. But what would happen afterwards? You could claim being lost in the woods. With evidence of the carriage and the missing driver, what else could they believe? After a few days on bed rest, you would be back by your aunt's side, following her every whim. Including indulging her on a "perfectly adequate" suitor because you had no other option, no other path. That suitor who would then become your future. But you didn't want it. You refused to give in to it.
Already within these few days, you were… changed in a way. They might not be human, but these men would forever be burned into your memory. Who could move you with music the way Chanyeol had? What silent strength could match the aura of Junmyeon? You had been promised that none of them would harm you. The chance for something extraordinary was right in front of you. The kind of chance you had only read about. It just had to be taken.
"I think… I think I want to stay."
*****
The moon became an ever changing friend. You hardly saw the sun anymore. Like the men you had given yourself over to, you lived under the stars. It was oddly beautiful. This time was often forgotten about by you and many others. The night was only a background to your time within your dreams. But now it was your entire world.
Every evening, you awoke to the dying orange light of the day. Breakfast always waited for you outside the door. It was the rule that no one broke; none could enter your room without explicit permission from you. Those walls remained your safe haven when things grew too overwhelming.
Despite your decision to stay, discovering that other creatures walked the earth required a step away once in a while. Especially now, with you aware of their true nature, the men were refusing to hold back.
Dropping from the roof, running around with spectacular speed, and lifting objects that ten men couldn't hold. It was remarkable. Except for the diet and inability to walk in the sun, the… condition seemed more like a blessing.
"You're rather thoughtful this evening,” Jongdae commented. He walked beside you like he did every twilight.
After you finished your breakfast, you met Jongae at the front doors to go on a walk around the manor grounds. Often others would join you as well. Junmyeon was the most frequent, though Yixing, Changed, and Jongin made many appearances over the past week and a half. Boundaries were constantly tested, but one word from you and they retreated.
"I guess you could say I am thoughtful tonight," you finally sighed. You hadn’t realized that you were being so obviously quiet. Funny, since you would have thought Jongdae would enjoy the silence. You typically had many questions or comments of your own to make.
"Should I go steal a penny from Sehun?"
You laughed. "I'd like to think my thoughts are worth more than a single penny.”
"They must be if you've become so skilled in deflecting from them." He crossed over to block your path. Gaze narrowed, he studied your carefully guarded expression. "What are you thinking about so hard? Regretting your decision to stay already?"
"No," you insisted. "Not at all."
He raised an eyebrow that simply asked, "Then what?"
"Do you always stay here?" you countered. "At the manor, I mean."
"We travel," Jongdae answered with a nod. "Not too often. It’s a bit difficult, you see."
"But we like traveling north.” Minseok dropped from who-knew-where, landing with barely bent knees and hands folded behind his back. "In the winter, the night lasts longer. Junmyeon has a small hunting lodge up there.
A hunting lodge? "Then why do you stay here?"
Minsoek shrugged. "This manor is bigger."
"Having nine of us in one household can be a bit volatile,” Jongdae added. He stepped aside to continue the stroll. "We need the room to separate so we don't level a building."
Your foot caught on an invisible lump in the grass. "You could destroy a building while fighting?"
Minseok snickered as he caught your stumble and helped steady your stance. His hand lingered at your waist until your sharpened glare made him remove it. "We haven’t crumbled a wall in a few years."
You scoffed at the casual tone. "What sort of fight caused that?"
"I can't remember." Minseok leaned forward slightly to look at Jongdae for help. But he didn't seem to recall either.
"Who knows what started it between Chanyeol and Kyungsoo.”
Your mouth dropped open in shock. Kyungsoo and Chanyeol had fought over something to the point of destroying a wall to crumble? It didn't feel plausible. Neither seemed like the hot-headed sort. You wanted to know the igniting incident so desperately.
Both Jongdae and Minseok suddenly whipped their heads towards the front of the manor.
"What is it?" you asked when neither offered an explanation.
"Junmyeon's calling for us." Jongdae scooped you up into his arms without warning. At your confused expression, he explained, "We're not leaving you alone out here." Remember your last adventure in the woods lingered in the silence.
The short lived wind whipped at your hair that you still wore loose to cover your neck. As soon as he stopped running, you wiggled out of his arms to be back on your feet. Everyone else was already gathered just outside the door. Several eyed you and Jongdae with suspicious and annoyed glares. You took a step away from him for some separation.
Clearing his throat, Junmyeon called everyone to attention. "We have to go hunting–real hunting. Now, normally, we all go together, but now that we have our guest," he nodded towards you, "some will have to stay behind with her until the first party… comes back."
"If you all need to go,” you couldn't quite speak the word feed, "then I'll be alright. For a few hours, at least." You weren't sure how long this excursion would take.
Junmyeon's features softened. "No. We'll go in groups. Chanyeol, Kyungsoo, Minseok and I will go first. We shouldn't be gone long." He reached out and patted the top of your head before disappearing into the trees. Kyungsoo gave no goodbye as he followed suit. The last two playfully shoved each other while taking off.
"Come." Yixing took hold of your hand and started pulling you inside. "I want to show you something."
"But–" You had wanted to ask Jongdae a question, but the traitor was already gone, off somewhere to do something he would never tell you about. So, you let Yixing take you into the manor and up the main staircase at the end of the hallway. At least he let you stay on your own feet instead of insisting on going at his speed.
Going down an unfamiliar hallway, you were reminded how big this place was and how much you still had to explore. The men occupied most of your time, vying for your attention and pulling you this way and that so you didn’t have much time on your own. It was odd and overwhelming at times.
During your seasons in town, you were hardly a well-sought after prize. There were prettier girls with grander dowries. You had accepted that fact. Now you were the center of a courting dance to which you knew none of the steps and possessed endless partners.
Yixing paused in front of a door that looked identical to all the others. He kept his fingers tight around yours as he slowly turned the knob with his free hand. The door swung open.
The gasp inhaled through your parted lips wasn't enough to convey your awe.
Maps of all the places you'd heard of and dozens more you hadn't covered the walls like homemade wallpaper. Slipping out of Yixing's grip, you walked further into the study, spinning slowly around to take it all in. The maps were varying degrees of tan, some as light as his skin, others as dark as animal leather.
Instead of bookshelves, doorless cabinets waist high lined three of the walls. Their squared shelves were stuffed full of parchment and ink and quills. A lone sketcher's desk sat in the middle, an unfinished drawing laying against the tilted surface.
"What is this place?"
"It's my personal study," Yixing answered as he laid a hand on the edge of the desk. "Kyungsoo gave it to me after I had accidentally taken over one of the parlors."
Your awe increased ten-fold. Your initial assumption was that he was a collector, not the original artist. "You drew all of these?"
He nodded almost... shyly. "I did. I was a cartographer. Before."
"Before?" You understood what he meant, but you didn't know how to ask for the story.
Turning his eyes to the parchment, he pinched it between his fingers. "I didn't just love traveling. I loved capturing it on paper. I wanted to make these places into art, but not like every other painting. I wanted them to be perfect. Exact replicas as if you were staying at them from God’s point of view. And I wanted to be the best. I couldn't be, though. I wasn’t good enough."
You moved closer to him, entranced in the story. "What happened?"
A rueful smile tightened at his lips. "I was given a chance to become perfect. What I didn't know was that I traded everyone knowing my maps for the talent to make it happen." Sorrow rolled from him like the tide warning of an oncoming storm.
Feeling the pull to comfort him, you reached out and covered his fidgeting hand with your own steady fingers.
"People will be able to know your work some day," you whispered. "I’m sure of it."
Perhaps you had been a bit too forward, a bit too open.
Yixing moved gracefully forward to eliminate most of the space between you. A smooth thumb that once must have been calloused when it was human caressed the edge of your jaw. His flickering eyes made intentions obvious.
Clearing your throat, you stepped out of the touch. "Why isn't this one finished?" You pointed to the drawing on the desk. It was an aerial view of the manor, with the top half of the parchment containing the beginning edges of the garden hedges. Disappointed, Yixing sighed and went along with your distraction.
"I'm still working out the maze. It is intricate. Much more than I was prepared for."
"Goodness." You were thankful that you hadn't wandered in there yet, especially on your own.
"Yixing.”
Both of you turned towards the door to find Sehun standing under the frame.
"Yes, Sehun?" Yixing said through somewhat gritted teeth. The young vampire wasn't phased.
"I need to speak with you."
"Fine." None of you moved.
Sehun looked at you with a pointed glare.
You received the hint loud and clear. "I'll leave you, then.”
With more relief than you cared to admit, you scurried out of the room and down the hallway.
Around the corner, you pressed your back against the wall and forced yourself to take deep breaths that filled your lungs to capacity. Panic had been the response at Yixing's closeness. You didn't mean for that to be the response. You didn't want to be closed off to any of them. But you couldn't help it. Maybe it was merely the closeness of the situation.
Giving yourself a small amount of grace, you pushed off the wall and made your way downstairs. So used to your time being absorbed by the men that you weren't sure what to do with yourself. Two of the ones that remained behind were currently occupied. As for the three others, they could have been anywhere.
You wandered around the main floor with a fleeting hope that one would come to find you. Then you saw them. A row of grand doors evenly spaced along the north wall called you forward.
The grand ballroom took your breath away. Not so dissimilar to the one in your dream, though this one’s lack of warmth and light left you heartbroken. Memories of dancing figures and lively music haunted these walls. In the corner, you could imagine a small orchestra strumming their instruments in delight.
You walked to the center where dozens of pairs used to twirl and bow and embrace each other in time with the melody. Ghostly laughter echoed in your ears. What had once been  bright and golden and full of life was dull, dark, and covered in cobwebs that swayed in the breeze of unknown origin.
Glancing around, you confirmed that you were truly alone before closing your eyes, lifting your arms, and began a soft hum.
You danced with an invisible partner in the fashion that your grandfather had taught you as a small child. It was more intimate than the choreographed dances currently popularized. You had always imagined your first ball like this, instead of the disappointment you really experienced. You had pictured a boy you didn’t know catching your eye. As the music was struck up, he laid a hand on your waist.
Just like now.
Hm. Your imagination was running wild, even pretending the weight of a palm was there on your lower back. And now in your lifted left hand.
No. That wasn’t your imagination.
Your eyes snapped open.
Jongin had taken the place of your imagined partner. He smiled down at you with a feline smirk as his hands tightened around you, refusing to let you slip away. There was no choice in leaving this musicless dance. You had stopped humming but he continued to whirl you around the marble floor. He controlled the dance, in charge of every step. He led with an expertise he shouldn’t have possessed–if he were a man of this age.
In one final move, he slipped his arm fully around your waist, pulling you so close that no room remained between you. Without breaking the spin, he lifted you from the floor as if you were no more than a kitten and whirled you around like the heroine from your favorite novel.
When the spin came to a close, he set you back on your feet, but didn’t let go. Your lungs heaved from the exercise–and from the way your bodies pressed together. Each rise of your chest brought you even closer to Jongin. He kept your gaze like a stablehand trying to calm a wild horse. His right hand slipped from your fingers, softly tracing the delicate inside of your arm. The touch left behind a fire you couldn’t explain. A cold, simmering fire.
He cupped your jaw as his eyes drifted down to your lips. This was a different reaction to Yixing’s wandering gaze. Not panic, but something similar.
Jongin held you in place as he leaned down, his lips pressing gently into the corner of yours. The thin breath in your lungs hitched. He lifted his lips only to find a new patch of skin. The delicate skin covering your pulse. Every muscle in your body froze. He kissed the skin softly. Surely, he could feel the race of your blood.
“Whenever you need a partner,” he said in a hush against your neck, “just whisper my name.”
And then, he was gone.
You stared off at the empty path left behind Jongin. The sheer hubris.
His name lingered on your lips, wondering if he would really come back like he said. But you kept the whisper inside and left the ballroom just the same.

Author's notes: @synthetickitsune I swear I had the entire draft ready before you posted yours, but I feel like we have one shared brain cell for some things LOL
Tumblr media
The first thing you took note of upon entering the club was that the music was better than you expected from the mediocre and obscure premise. This type of music was not something you usually heard in dancing places – it was more on the heavy side, and it gave off the vibe of 80’s goths and black platform heels adorned with spikes. Not your regular music choice, but you couldn’t say that you were disappointed.
It was supposed to be just a few hours of relax. You felt a bit distraught recently, with books and other home entertainments feeling like you’re starting to drown in a routine. You needed a variety, even though your friends group consisted mostly of people who didn’t care for parties, and you yourself had no idea as to what people are supposed to do at one. Even the club was something you found online and not through a recommendation. You were shamelessly aware that you chose it just because the menu appeared cheaper than in others, and they would let ladies in for free if they wore heels. A bit sexist in your opinion, but free entry was free entry after all.
The place wasn’t too crowded, but the spots by the bar were all busy, and with the customers gathered around – a lot of them for such an early hour – you quickly came to a conclusion that you’d rather sit down somewhere else and look around to see if there’s anything for you to do.
You hated dancing.
It’s not that it was impossible to sway from one side to the other on repeat. But you were awfully aware how lame it must have looked while done by someone who didn’t represent excess of physical appeal, and so, since it didn’t bring you any joy either, you avoided it at all costs. For the same reason, the dancing floor was definitely not an interesting place to look at. And besides, everyone was still too sober for their dancing skills to become entertaining.
The spot you found, a bar chair by a tall, round table with the top made of glass, was a good lookout point. A row of tables like such was on a not so tall podium along the wall, so the heads of the people were a bit below and you could see the entire ground floor of the club very well. Guests were still coming in.
There was a part of the club, though, that, although in the range of your sight, didn’t appear reachable at all – the upper floor. A balcony with glass balustrade shined above the heads of all people gathered in the dancing floor. The VIP zone.
Your eyes, bored of looking down, traveled up automatically, trying to have a look at anyone there. You suspected that the VIP zone of such an average place was occupied by college students and corporates going at party nights. In fact, the only person that was looking out the balustrade at the moment, with his eyes fixated somewhere by the bar, was a tall and well-built boy who could as well be a basketball player, dressed in a simple t-shirt and sweatpants. You snorted quietly, realizing that in any of the books you read, he would be a multimillionaire, spotting an average girl in the crowd below, falling in love at the first sight…
“Whatcha looking at?”
You jumped and almost fell off your chair at the voice that sounded out next to you.
Your eyes shot to the person who was currently sitting in the chair next to yours, watching you with a polite, non-intrusive smile. Although the fact you didn’t notice him join in freaked you out, he didn’t appear ill-intended. Yet, you didn’t miss a small smirk in the corner of his lip at the sudden reaction that you graced his question with.
“Oh… Nothing, really, just people” you answered, composing yourself. A small part of you wanted to carry on some sort of conversation just to not stay completely alienated for the rest of the night. But the remaining part of you had no idea, how. “How’s your evening?” you asked out of no better choice.
The man leaned forward, resting his elbows on the table, and smiled widely, acknowledging that you’re not against the interaction.
“A bit boring, to be honest. I came here with some friends, but they all already busied themselves with stuff. What about you? Who did you come with?”
His voice was tender and careful, and his face looked very soft. You took a moment to acknowledge a simple baseball cap on his head, pulled on a bit too low so that he had to tilt his head backwards to see what’s on his eye level. He also wore a black, plain bomber jacket that made you think he’s a part of some college team – but there were no logos or other signs anywhere that would hint to his affiliation. In fact, you quickly came to the conclusion that it’s just his fashion choice.
“I actually came here alone” you blabbered without a second thought. “I’m not really a party person, to be honest…”
“Oh. I can tell.”
“Huh?”
Should you feel offended? Your face must have betrayed the uncertainty, because the man’s eyes widened and he visibly panicked at the social mistake.
“No, wait, sorry. It’s just that… if a stranger asks you about who you came with, even if you come alone, you should lie. It’s dangerous to let people know that.” he elaborated.
That actually made sense, you realized. Heck, you must have really had no self-preservation skills if you didn’t think of that before.
“Oh… I, um, thank you? For letting me know?” You scratched your head awkwardly.
He pressed his lips together – you took note of how his cheeks looked sort of cute and squishable when he did that – and smoothly hopped off the seat.
“I think it’s the time for me. Thank you for the talk.” He nodded his head politely and turned around, disappearing in the crowd before you could react appropriately.
You let out a defeated sigh. You came to this party to have a relaxing evening, but you must have messed up your possibly only chance to have a conversation with someone sober and not a creep. People were starting to slowly get drunk and you had a feeling that anytime soon, the only people coming up for a talk would be drunk college boys that the club was at this time of the year full of.
You glanced hopefully up at the glass balustrade of the VIP zone, but this time there was no one in sight.
It must have been around midnight when you looked at yourself in the club’s bathroom mirror, taking note of the tiredness heaving down your features. You were bored out of your mind, the music was echoing in your skull way too loud at this point, and the little alcohol you had in the meantime only made you a bit distraught rather than relaxed. Those were signs that it was definitely the time to go home.
You wrapped your trench coat around yourself as you left the building and went into the dark street. Cold wind hit your ankles, clad in nothing but a thin layer of stockings that you wore underneath the dress.
You stood nearby the main entrance, reaching out to your phone. You still contemplated whether to order a ride or to seek a cheaper alternative, seeing as the travel by feet must have not been too far from there, and maybe even you could even catch the night bus?
“Hi, are you alone?”
You whipped your head to where the voice was coming from, way too close for your liking.
A man was approaching you at a pace you weren’t sure if you should be comfortable with. His eyes were shining from the amount of alcohol consumed. He swayed to the sides ever so slightly as he walked.
It took you a solid moment to realize you’ve seen him once before – on the balustrade. He must have been on his way home as well.
“Um… I’m going home” you replied a bit shakily when he approached you. With how much taller than you he was, he didn’t have to try hard to hover above you in a hopefully unwittingly threatening posture.
“Will you be okay? I can get you a ride” he spoke sluggishly.
You couldn’t tell just how wary of him you should be; although he didn’t seem ingenuine and it was just the alcohol that made him appear creepy, you reminded yourself that it’s still a stranger. You glanced towards the club – the entry was a bit too far for your liking, but unless he became physical, you should be able to get back and ask for someone to help you out, was he to become too pushy.
“Please let me get you home” he suddenly spoke, sensing your unease. “I won’t bite you, I promise” he added. “I’ve already had enough for today, they don’t taste any good when I’m this drunk” he kept on blabbering and you lifted your eyebrow at the peculiarity of his statement.
“Chanyeol? What the hell are you doing here?”
The two of you turned around to look at the man coming from the club. The silhouette was too dark with the lights in the background, so you couldn’t make out his features well.
“Nothing” the man answered, shaking his head. “I just met this girl and she’s alone and I told her I won’t bite her but I think she’s scared of me” he whined.
Only when the newcomer came close enough, you realized that he also is not an unfamiliar face. The baseball cap betrayed him even before his squishy cheeks did. He spared you a glance and tilted his head to the side, apparently also acknowledging that you’re not a complete stranger. His eyes fell on his friend again.
“Aish, how would you get her home when you’re this drunk? Come and join the rest, we’ll be going home soon.”
“Then you take her home. She’s alone, Baekhyun, girls shouldn’t be alone. What if someone bites her when she’s alone?”
You frowned deeply, having no idea about what was all this weird conversation about. The man – Baekhyun – glanced at you once every few seconds, as though checking your reactions, and he was clearly displeased with the way things were going. He finally sighed.
“You talk too much, Yeol. Come on, let’s go.”
The man named Chanyeol huffed, but finally gave up and started moving back towards the entrance.
Baekhyun stayed behind, only making sure that his friend has gone in the right direction, and then looked at you with his face unreadable.
“Sorry for that. He didn’t mean anything bad, he just doesn’t control his tongue when he’s drunk.”
“Yeah… I could tell… Sorry.”
He lifted his eyebrow.
“Don’t say sorry when you haven’t done anything bad.”
“Oh. Right.”
“Are you sure it’s just parties that you’re not into? It looks like you don’t have much human interaction at all” he commented with a smirk. You laughed awkwardly.
“I usually handle it better, really. Not like, very good, but I swear I’m not an alien.”
He laughed warmly.
“Thank God, I was starting to consider giving you a ride too, but what if I had to get you back on another planet? Don’t have enough gas for that” he joked. It was quite lame of a joke, but you couldn’t help but utter a small laugh. After a bit of alcohol and at this hour, it was hard not to go alone with the lame sense of humor.
“Was it your way of offering a ride?” you dared to ask.
Baekhyun grinned.
“Maybe. Would you like?”
“I…” You bit on your lip, suddenly realizing that the offer had probably more to it than a mere act of kindness. “…don’t want to give you hope for something I can’t give” you stated carefully.
The man’s smile fell.
“Don’t ever worry about things like that. It’s not your problem if someone gets hope for something you never offered yourself. I just felt like giving you a ride, you don’t need to think of ways to return a favor or anything.” He appeared satisfied with his speech, and hid hands in the pockets of his jacket, soft and reassuring smile returning to his face.
You released the breath you didn’t realize you were holding, a relief washing over you and a smile appearing on your own face as well.
“That’s… nice” you only answered. “In this case, I’d love to get home with you. I… I mean-” you realized your words were a bit ambiguous. “…You know what I mean.”
Baekhyun only laughed warmly.
“I know, I know. Come on, I parked nearby.” He pulled car keys out of his pocket and swung them in the air. “But, by the way, don’t just accept rides from strangers. It’s dangerous.”
Baekhyun’s car was more comfortable than the public transport you were used to, and also sitting in the front felt way nicer than the backseats of a taxi. The music was calmer and quieter than in the club, and although it also wasn’t the genre you were used to, it almost lulled you to sleep as the two of you sat in a pleasant silence for about half of the ride.
“Won’t your friends get worried that you didn’t come back to them?” you eventually spoke, trying to start a conversation. Your time together appeared to be limited, and you didn’t want to waste a chance to get to know the man better.
“I shot them a message” Baekhyun replied with his gaze fixated on the changing lights and the cars in the intersection. “I wasn’t drinking because I was supposed to be their ride but they also met some people at the party, so they’ll be fine” he elaborated.
“Ah, I see. Well. I’m lucky that you were supposed to be the ride anyway” you shrugged. Baekhyun smiled at that but didn’t continue the conversation.
You were still a few minutes away from your apartment and you really, really didn’t want the ride to end so quickly. Even silence in Baekhyun’s presence was just too comfortable. How was it possible that you felt so much ease with a man you barely met? Maybe it was because his comments regarding your safety seemed to be genuine, and you appreciated them. Maybe they were just his way of getting your trust, but you just didn’t seem to mind.
There were still other questions you could use to get him to talk to you.
“I just recalled, what were those things your friend was talking about? I know he was drunk, but he mentioned biting like two or three times. What’s up with that?”
Baekhyun’s eyes narrowed slightly. Slight tension in his jaw didn’t pass your attention either.
“Uh…” He shrugged after a moment of thought. “Consider it an inside joke in our group of friends.”
“An inside joke?” You genuinely laughed. “Maybe you’re the aliens? What if your car gets me on the Moon instead of home?”
The man laughed awkwardly.
“Well, we’re peculiar in our own ways. But I promise the car is earthly” he assured with a grin.
You knew the area pretty well and it didn’t take long before you arrived at your address, Baekhyun’s car coming to a stop almost opposite of the building entry. The man turned the engine off and got up, opening the door for you before you even prepared yourself to leave the vehicle. You got out hurriedly and quickly straightened your clothes.
“You good? You got everything?” he asked, glancing at the seat to make sure you haven’t forgotten anything. You nodded.
“Thank you. Really.”
“You’re welcome.” His voice was tender and calm, but you had a feeling that the unspoken question is there.
You cleared your throat.
“Um… Would you… like to come upstairs?”
“Hm?”
Because of what he said before, you were certain he did not want to make any assumptions or take things for granted. Yet, you didn’t want to leave him in the dark, and you were positive that for his honesty, he deserved some transparency from your side as well.
“Just…”
Yet, were you ready to offer more than you initially planned? What was there to lose, after all?
But how would you feel if he rejected you, or if you didn’t meet the expectations – that was so not like you to offer such a thing, and you never wanted to have short-term partners to begin with.
But Baekhyun clearly was a gentleman, and if he was to reject you, it would have to be out of care and not because you disappointed him. Or at least you desperately wanted to believe so.
And besides, why would he reject you if he went out of his way to give you a ride home? Even if he was mature enough not to expect anything, it’s not like he would offer it to someone who didn’t spike at least an ounce of his interest.
“[F/n]?”
You jumped at the sound of your name; you must have drowned in your thoughts instead of answering the question.
“Oh. Sorry. I um… It’s not a situation I’m usually in. But I just… don’t want this evening to end this fast.”
“You know you don’t owe me anything, right?” He announced calmly, but there was some shade of threat in the way he said it, as if there was something urging him to give you the last chance to take it back and part your ways.
“I know. That’s why I don’t promise anything. But I want to try. You’re… fun to be around.”
At that, his face instantly lightened, and he chuckled softly.
“Thank you. You’re fun to be around, too.”
The night was chilly, and so you welcomed with gratitude the warmth that surrounded you the moment you entered your apartment. The place was rather decent as for one person inhabiting it, and you rented it at a rather cheap price from an elderly lady who at some age decided to move in with her family. Although you were allowed to refurnish it, you actually enjoyed the old style of creaking floor and black-and-white pictures on the walls covered in an old wallpaper. Even the old TV remained in its place, although it wasn’t catching the signal anymore. Baekhyun looked around curiously.
“You live here alone?” he asked.
“Yeah. But it’s not mine, I’m renting for another few years” you elaborated while taking off your coat and shoes, motioning for Baekhyun to do the same. “I’d like to buy my own but it’s still a while before I can even afford a mortgage.” The man nodded slowly in acknowledgment, following you cautiously as you soon entered the kitchen, turning on all the small lights on the way, making sure that the whole apartment was at least partially lit. “Bathroom is over there if you need” you briefly waved in the right doors’ direction. “You want something to eat?”
Baekhyun’s metaphorical ears perked up. He saw you point at the fridge.
“Oh. Maybe later, thank you.”
“Later?” you grinned. “Just how long are you planning to stay in here?” you teased.
“Hm.” He smiled shyly. “As long as you let me” he purred. You were focused on checking the cabinet’s contents for some quick snack when you heard him shift right behind you, hands hovering around your waist, although not touching just yet.
Your breath hitched. A pack of chocolate chip cookies slipped out of your grasp and fell on the counter below.
“Dammit” you mumbled, reaching to pick it up.
When you turned around, Baekhyun was sitting at your small table, elbow resting on the tabletop and chin on his hand in a fairly confident, although charming – in a way – pose.
“You want some?” You asked mindlessly, putting the cookies on the table and sitting on the second chair awkwardly.
“Later, thank you” he repeated; you internally cringed, realizing it made it seem that you didn’t listen to him earlier.
“Want something to drink then? I imagine you must be at least a bit tired after the party” you offered, feeling a bit awkward about eating the cookies all alone and not providing him with any sort of entertainment in the meantime.
“Don’t worry. It’s nice to just rest in the quiet after all that loud music” Baekhyun said with a gentle smile.
“Is that really so? Or do you just avoid midnight snacking?” you teased, trying to at least carry on with a small-talk.
You caught him stare straight in your eyes, and you felt a shiver run down your spine at his unreadable face.
“I actually believe that a good snack is a good snack regardless of the time” he announced in a tone that made you wonder.
He stood up right as you finished your cookie and came up to you. You observed him curiously as he knelt down, slowly finding himself between your parted knees.
His eyes never left yours, watching out for any signs of discomfort or disagreement.
You felt taken aback by his boldness, feeling your face heat up at the unusual closeness, but you definitely weren’t about to refuse.
His hands finally touched your knees, leaning on them for stability. Your dress was riding up a bit, but not enough to show anything yet.
“May I?” His lips hovered over the skin of your thigh where it was already exposed.
You almost caught yourself nodding mindlessly, but the loud pounding of your heart brought you back to reality.
“W-what?” you stuttered.
“Kiss your leg” he specified with a small, warm laugh that both calmed you and embarrassed you even more at once. “May I?”
“Yes” you answered quickly before you could lose control over your voice again.
More serious again, Baekhyun leaned down and pressed a slow, chaste kiss into your heated skin. Then another, a bit higher, but still as if the edge of your dress was a border he wasn’t going to cross. His both hands massaged the outer sides of your knees.
“You’re so nervous” the man noted, at which your face got even redder.
“Well, uh…”
“Do I make you shy?” he teased. You stuttered incoherently in response.
Baekhyun let out a soft laughter, pushing himself up and extending his hand to help you up as well. You followed and fixed your dress in hurry.
“U-uh.”
You awkwardly wavered your hand towards the bedroom’s door, hoping the man gets the hint, knowing that your voice would betray you completely, were you to utter such a bold request.
But he didn’t even look in that direction, his hand reaching to your chin instead and he lifted your face up, placing a small kiss on your cheek.
“Oh. Thank you.”
At that, he laughed even louder.
“Thank you? Really?”
“What else was I supposed to answer…?” you huffed, not sure if he was trying to insult you with the mockery.
“No, no, don’t worry, it was actually quite a cute thing to say” he explained.
“Oh, well…”
His fingers gently brushed your lips, and all the thoughts left your mind as you let him maneuver your face towards his. Warm breath hit your nose as he looked down at you from up close, all small details of his face so sharp and clear, and his glistening eyes fixated on the way your face subtly changed in reaction to his doings.
He tilted his head to the side, smirk present on his soft-looking lips, and you felt as though at that exact moment, he had you right in his grasp – up to the heart of yours beating exactly as he conducted, you thought.
With another peck to your other cheek, he suddenly pulled away.
You swayed, feeling like you’re going to collapse the moment his fingers no longer kept your face in place. You were lightheaded. Baekhyun was proud of himself.
He stepped towards the corridor that led to your bedroom, and this time, it was you who followed.
He crossed the door, glancing over his shoulder as if to make sure you’re not lost on your way.
And right when you thought that at least this small part of your way will be peaceful and almost boring, this one, small thing came to your vision, turning everything upside down.
Right ahead of yourself, behind Baekhyun’s silhouette, on the wall. A mirror, adorned with an antique, golden frame, one you used every day to get ready, one that had been there ever since you remembered, and one that was the last thing in the world you’d expect to surprise you.
You looked closely; your eyes couldn’t be possibly playing tricks. It was just you with all the walls and furnishings that you knew.
But Baekhyun, standing there and glancing at you, did not reflect in that mirror.
You froze in place, staring in your own eyes of the reflection. The man’s smile fell, noting the sudden change of mood. Catching your gaze, he followed it, turning his back to you. His own eyes finally fell on the mirror and he gawked.
“Oh. Oh, wow.”
Without waiting for you to speak any of the thoughts currently hurling in your mind, he slowly walked over to the mirror as if just about as surprised as you were, but with genuine curiosity as well. His hand reached but stopped right before touching the smooth surface, and instead grazed the mirror’s frame, admiring the piece of fine furniture.
You stood in your place, still uncertain how to react. But he did not seem as confused, you realized – as if, although not expecting the phenomenon, he knew exactly what it was caused by.
“Fascinating…” he finally spoke in a soft voice. “Really, I don’t remember the last time I’ve seen one like this” he talked with childlike thrill. “It’s old, isn’t it?” He looked back at you, but his smile fell once again, noting you were nowhere close to sharing his excitement.
He let go of the mirror’s frame and took a step towards you, face tense and determined.
Something in you screamed, some sort of self-preservation instinct reminded you of its presence, calling out to you: this is a threat! This isn’t normal! It’s a sign, run!
Can’t move.
You stood there, completely stunned, as Baekhyun finally closed the proximity, finding himself right in front of you.
Was it some sort of manipulation, or was it just you – that the fear in your guts somehow mixed with arousal?
“What… is that?” you dared to ask in a tone as tough as you could make it.
He stepped that one step too close, making you stumble backwards. One step more, one more, and he had you leaning against the wall by the bedroom’s door, somewhat cornered, yet with enough room to flee if you so wished.
“If…” Hearing his voice this close made you flinch slightly, and he turned his tone down a bit. “If you tell me to leave, I’ll leave. I’m not going to hurt you.”
The last words made the heart thump in your chest.
“But… you could.”
“I could.”
“Were you going to?”
He didn’t reply for a moment, breathing in deeply.
“Not… much.”
You stared at him, still uncertain and confused.
“Who are you?”
He stepped back again. Your eyes moved between his silhouette and the mirror behind when he stood right next to it, giving you the best picture of his non-reflecting self.
“I’ll give you a fun fact instead” he announced, lips curling into a grin again. “Your mirror is very old. I actually don’t remember the last time I’ve had this happen to me. Because mirrors nowadays don’t do that. Do you know why?”
You had no clue what he was going at – you shook your head.
“Because mirrors nowadays are usually made of glass and aluminum. Or stuff like that, I’m not so sure, really” he shrugged, unbothered. You still weren’t able to finish the thought off, a small piece still lacking for you to understand it. Baekhyun sensed that, and he patiently continued – speaking the last few words to put all of the puzzle together for you. “What they used to be made of in the past?”
You gawked at him.
“…” The breath got caught in your throat. “Silver. They… They used to be made of silver.”
“Voila.” Baekhyun spread his arms, as if presenting himself to you. “And before you try to think of all the possible creatures that have silver allergy written into their lore, just know I’m not the only one you had a chance to meet tonight.”
You recalled the stranger you met at the bar, Baekhyun’s friend whose words had spiked your curiosity the moment they echoed in the dark street.
I won’t bite you, I promise.
What if someone bites her when she’s alone?”
His eyes sparkled as he watched all the small bits come together in your head. Slow enlightenment displayed within your facial expressions with hundreds of subtle emotions, and piece by piece, the deduction snowballed, becoming more and more apparent, bared for him to drink the sadistic satisfaction from.
That was when you recalled his own words.
A good snack is a good snack regardless of the time.
“You… were going to bite me?” you finally uttered, voice breaking with every syllable.
He let his arms fall to his sides, smile softening, head tilted slightly backwards – your eyes spotted his fangs, sharper and whiter than human teeth, exposed by him for you to admire.
“If you tell me to leave now, I’ll leave” he repeated, but his tone made it clear that he already knew you weren’t going to do that.
In fact, even you knew from a while ago that your curiosity was too strong to let him off the hook – you felt like you caught a sort of urban legend, and you’d hate yourself for letting him flee without getting a hold of all his secrets.
Ultimately, though, it was the sensation of getting preyed on by him that – you realized – lit a fire inside of your body, and made your insides burn with want.
“Stay, please” you uttered in a small voice, as if too shy to request something this impure. “I want to know… more” you whispered, convincing yourself to look back at him. Your eyes fell on his fangs again, so unnaturally sharp despite not appearing that much longer than in a human. You recalled when he kissed your thigh earlier, and shivered, realizing how close it was, how easily he could have…
“You’re thinking too much” he suddenly interrupted, noting that you were so endorsed in the chaotic train of thoughts that you were just hyping yourself into anxiety at this point.
He lifted his hand towards your face, slowly and carefully, as if to test the waters. You weren’t sure if you should let him. Maybe, in some twisted way, it would be easier if he didn’t ask – if he just grabbed you and forcefully bit into your neck, so you could experience that mysterious sensation of falling a prey to possibly the only creature on the earth that could realistically impose threat to the mankind. You felt a nervous, but exciting sensation in your gut.
You didn’t even manage to react before his fingers gently brushed your cheek. You were already a goner, leaning into his hand on instinct. The fear became thrill instead.
“Here you go, good girl” he whispered with content.
Not waiting any further, he leaned down and buried his face in the crook of your neck. You let out a small whimper when his lips touched your heated up skin. You felt his fangs graze the sensitive surface, but no pain followed, only the sweet feeling of a chaste, open-mouthed kiss.
“Oh…”
He kissed slowly down your cleavage, hands running down your silhouette along with his lips. He breathed into the space where the hem of your dress ended, not daring to go further. You were still stunned, still too shaken to invite him in, but you didn’t oppose even one bit when he put his hands below your thighs and lifted you up, your arms automatically anchoring around his neck.
He was so gentle with you when he carried you over to your bed and placed you down on your back with utmost care. The bed sheets were cold below your body, your dress doing close to nothing to soothe the sudden sensation. But Baekhyun’s – against what you would think – was impossibly warm against yours when he hovered above you for a few moments, your legs wrapped around his waist just a bit longer. He placed another kiss on your cheek.
“May I?” you whispered.
“Hm?”
“Kiss your lips.” You cupped his face with your hands. “May I?”
“Go ahead.”
It seemed like he did it on purpose, not leaning in to make it any easier for you, and you had to strain yourself to reach him. Your lips touched, the sensation – absolutely breathtaking. His fingers gently wrapped around your neck, pushing you down into the mattress, but following the motion with his own mouth, deepening the kiss with a sense of roughness, overpowering you in a way. He nibbled at your lower lip, letting you feel the sharp edge of his fangs.
“Will you bite me?
“I think I will.”
“Why haven’t you yet?”
He broke the kiss and smirked down at you.
“Are you impatient?”
“Do you want me to beg for it?” you uttered, trying to sound irritated, although at heart knowing that you were close to doing so anyway. You were, in fact, impatient.
“Maybe later. Will you?”
“I…”
He didn’t let you finish, his grip on your thighs suddenly strengthening and you yelped, feeling his nails dig hard into your flesh. Your breath instantly quickened, sensation quickly becoming unbearable.
Taking all the time in the world, he finally released the hold, stroking your abused skin in comfort instead.
“Easy, love. See?  It’s just my fingers. You wouldn’t take my fangs just yet.”
He knelt back between your legs. Your dress’ lower hem was almost at your underwear from being carried by him earlier, and Baekhyun’s hands traced up your bare thighs, once again taking note of any sign of discomfort or displeasure.
You felt nervous, more than ever. Not only because you weren’t used to such casual endeavors. Something in you felt stressed about disappointing such a superior creature, still feeling like it’s a one-in-the-lifetime chance that you got.
Baekhyun seemed to sense your worry perfectly, and he leaned down to ground you with a kiss to your knee.
“You’re beautiful” he spoke with no ounce of hesitation or doubt. “And you smell delicious” he added. Such a peculiar thing to hear, you thought, yet your face heated up, as if the second compliment was much more meaningful than the first. “May I… taste you down here?” His hand slid down your inner thigh, stopping at your dress.
You opened your mouth, but, quickly realizing your voice won’t align with your intentions, you instead nodded – a bit too eagerly, involuntarily holding your breath.
He took all the time in the world, allowing you to get accustomed to his touch as he slowly lifted your dress, finally displaying your underwear, at which you let out a small, shy whimper. He pushed the fabric even higher, and you took the hint to sit up and take it off fully, now left in nothing but a black lingerie – a set you almost only wore to parties when you wanted to feel especially well put-together, and now you silently thanked yourself for this habit.
He now moved up and kissed the skin between your breasts, smoothly tracing his lips down to your stomach and stopping briefly above the hem of your panties, fingers hooking around the edge. With one last glance at your burning up face, Baekhyun slowly pulled your underwear down, taking his sweet time and enjoying the way you only squirmed quietly, held right at the edge of sanity with such a simple interaction.
“Breathe” he reminded you, discarding the fabric to the side, his own exhale hitting your private parts, now exposed for him to see.
He placed yet another comforting kiss on your mound.
“You’re okay, you’re safe” he whispered.
Although his words comforted you, he didn’t wait for you to calm down; quite the opposite, in fact, when he finally put his mouth around your pearl, overwhelming you with just the proximity. His eyes were fixated on yours in a predator-like way, drinking in your reactions and gaining sadistic pleasure from the way you could no longer control your body.
The room filled with wet noises that mixed with your own voice. Your moans slowly became more and more obscene as Baekhyun’s mouth worked shamelessly around your private parts with care, yet ease, as if he knew all bits of your body and didn’t even need to think twice, getting all the sensations, all the pressure, all the pace – perfectly right, pulling you further and further into the immense pleasure.
You were ready to relax and fall deep into the sensations, when he suddenly dug his nails into your thighs again, forcing you awake.
You yelped and tried to squirm away, but his hold only strengthened. Your breath hitched when you took the cue to stay still until the grasp once again dissipated.
“Don’t you feel too good?” he mocked. You glanced back at him – his eyes were shining red, face darker than just moments ago, threatening.
“B-Baekhyun…”
Should you feel scared at that moment? Should you understand that this man was a monster? Maybe. But it felt just too good to be in his hands, to be toyed with and hurt so sweetly. It was like a reward to know that out of all people, he chose you as his prey. There was some primal pleasure in being this little, naive girl that fell right into his trap, that allowed him to sweet-talk her into giving up her will of survival.
In a surge of confidence, you put your hand on top of his head, pushing him to resume what he was doing so well just moments ago. Baekhyun didn’t object, only letting out an amused huff when his lips wrapped around your clit once again, sucking on it gently and letting you once again melt in the sweet sensation. Your fingers clutched his hair, letting you release some of the tension, and when he hummed into your skin, you held it so tightly you for a second worried about causing him pain.
But he didn’t say a word and you quickly realized, it must have not bothered him in the slightest. His eyes slipped closed, now fully fixated on devouring you, hands holding your hips down to prevent you from squirming, hold just a bit too strong, just to cause you the slightest amount of pain, just to remind you what he was capable of.
Your whole body trembled, approaching the sweet release. Baekhyun’s mouth was relentless, and he read your reactions perfectly, his pace and movements perfectly designed to drive you insane.
With your thighs pressing together, you clutched his hair even harder. You were starting to convulse, letting out incoherent whimpers. Baekhyun’s fingers, dug into your thighs so strong you wouldn’t be surprised if they drew blood, no longer hurt – it was all mixing together, the proximity of his existence alone already overwhelming your senses, but the passion, the warmth, the textures, the sounds – it all sucked you in further and further, riding you off any remains of sanity that you may have had left.
Suddenly, right as you were about to reach the peak, everything stopped for less than a second; a void so sudden you didn’t even manage to register it.
And then, like a thunder through your body, Baekhyun’s fangs pierced the soft skin around your clit. He sucked hard on both your blood and your pearl, and you instantly came undone, crying out in pleasure and agony.
Your vision went white for what felt like ages and you felt like you were floating in the outer space; for those heavenly moments, you were not even sure if you’re still alive, but your thoughts mingled and dissipated too fast to formulate a coherent sentence. Whether Baekhyun was still there or not, you would not be able to tell; your mind was blank, and he could as well have left you moments ago – except the pain that was slowly starting to materialize again was an excellent proof that he was still present, and when your body finally came down from its high, you managed to register him down there, still between your thighs, with his arms wrapped around them in an almost loving-like manner.
You had absolutely no idea when did he bit into your thigh instead, letting your most fragile bits calm down from the overstimulation, but it looked like he was so endorsed in tasting your sweet blood that it took you a few long moments before he finally acknowledged you’re watching him. Your lower body was limp, small shivers running here and there, but any pain no longer present, your flesh too worn out to take note of it.
Sensing your gaze, Baekhyun slowly pulled his fangs out of your skin, carefully as to not damage it further, and then sent you a smug, bloody smile, hand caressing your hip.
“Welcome back” he spoke. “Took you a while.”
You tried to push yourself into the sitting position, but even your arms wouldn’t listen, and you fell back down in exhaustion.
Maybe it was merciful of him to climb up and hover above you, letting you look at his full figure even when you could no longer move to watch him yourself. A drop of your blood slipped from the corner of his lip, landing on your own. You curiously reached to it with your tongue, and Baekhyun didn’t wait a second, pressing his lips into your own, taking that sweet droplet back but giving you a taste of the metallic flavor in its full glory. A short, but rough nib to your lip made you let out a small, helpless whimper, tears emerging in the corners of your eyes – with the amount of overstimulation, even that much was already too much, and you were so worn out, so weak, so overdone.
“Just a bit more, love.”
His lips once again found themselves on your neck, kissing so tenderly that you barely felt it.
The prickling pain that followed no longer caused you to recoil; your body was growing weak, too weak to handle it anymore. You were getting drained beyond the stage of quick recovery, and you could tell, there was nothing you could do at this point to stop it.
Just a bit more, just a few more sips.
“You taste so good.”
Biting into the top of your breast now, closer to your heart. You didn’t feel it anymore, only phantom sensations somewhere far away.
You were at the brink of unconsciousness when he finally pulled away. A bit carelessly, he knelt up and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand, dark burgundy-shining eyes fixated on your fading ones.
Although you still had it in yourself to look back at him, the world around you was gradually collapsing, and it was only those burgundy eyes that kept you right above the surface, but so about to drown.
“My… I may have overdone it. Are you still there?”
He sounded marginally worried, as if coming across a small incident, and not a human life that was on the line.
You blinked and moved your fingers ever so slightly, just to let him know you’re still conscious, although barely.
The man smiled at that softly, clear relief washing over his face.
“Don’t worry, you’ll be okay. I’ll make sure of that.”
He reached to your cheek, patting it gently. It felt a bit grotesque; his skin was so warm as opposed to yours, chill from the lack of blood and paler than ever.
But his touch felt nice, and, although you knew that the slumber you’d fall into would not be natural and the next hours would possibly decide your fate, it felt like you were falling into a dream instead; you were growing addicted to his presence, and you could do nothing to stop it. You were a goner.
“I’ll make sure of that, because I cannot possibly waste a fine snack like you. It’s just the beginning, love. Better recover fast.”
Ahh, I'm actually proud of this one, hope you guys enjoyed reading as much as I enjoyed writing! Also don't hesitate to let me know your thoughts, and hopefully, more vampire content will be coming in the future!

In your quickly fading consciousness, you realize Tabaeus has let go of your hands. Their own grip at your shoulders, long spindly fingers trembling. Turning your face toward the hand on your right, away from Tabaeus’s feasting mouth, you find your sight blurring.
Before unconsciousness claims you, you press a gentle kiss to the back of their palm. Driven to somehow comfort the vampire, even at such a discordant juncture. Their fingers flex, claws digging into your skin as something akin to another sob bubbles up from their mouth.
That’s the last thing you hear as darkness pulls you under.
---
The next morning, Tabaeus is gone.
They must have called to Lachlan in the middle of the night, swept off into the darkness. Faintly, you remember a touch on your cheek, whispered words, but it is all so muddled in your groggy head.
You sit in the kitchen, hunched over the table, head in your hands. The bowl of cereal you had blearily made for yourself sits uneaten, growing soggier by the second. Heat burns in your eyes, but the tears don’t fall. Just hover at the edge of your lids and burn at your nose.
“They thralled us while we slept. Probably to keep us dead asleep while they left.” Across from you, Ewan sits sprawled in his chair. His head leans back, his hand pressing to his own forehead. “Feels like a godsdamn hangover.”
“That fucking asshole,” you sigh, shoving your cereal further away. You cross your arms and lay your head down on them, trying to ignore the anger and sadness churning inside your chest. To know Tabaeus would still thrall you, even after you bent to their request, makes bile crawl up your throat.
You don’t even look up as Ewan asks, “What’s our plan now?”
“What do you mean, what now? Tabaeus is gone,” you mumble, words muffled by your arms. Depressed resignation weighs heavily in your chest and in your words.
You catch movement as Ewan shifts. Something in the air shifts and you think he’s looking at you now. “You don’t want to go find them?”
“Can we even find them?” Hopeless, you cross your arms atop the table and flump your head down into your arms. Lachlan was obviously powerful and Tabaeus was no schmuck when it came to his powers either. If neither wanted to be found, could you and Ewan have any hope to track them down?
Ewan’s silence answers your question. If Tabaeus didn’t want to be found, if he was so intent on just disappearing from your lives - both of your lives, really - could either of you find him? You don’t even know what kind of underground society vampires operated in. How hard would it be to dig them out? How many had centuries of experience, of power, to wield?
Silence descended on the two of you, as you both stew in woe. It was only when a small, unfamiliar voice interrupted the pity party that you looked up, “You can find him.”
On the table, the rodents Tabaeus had brought home stare at you. Confused, you push yourself up in a proper sitting position and glance around, ignoring the fact the sugar gliders somehow got out of their cage. The only other person present, however, is Ewan. And he’s staring wide-eyed at the sugar gliders. Without realizing it, you have braced for his question before he mutters, “Why are the sugar gliders talking?”
“We’re imps, thank you very much,” Liuva, the lighter of the two gliders, titters as their nose twitches. At the disbelieving look that you and Ewan shoot, they comically heave a sigh that makes the sugar glider equivalent of shoulders rise and fall. Before your very eyes, the sugar gliders shift, the fur falling away and becoming a cape, leaving two very small, human-ish figures standing atop the table.
Both spindly figures had dark black eyes and markings on their grey-toned skin, long pointed ears peeking out from their hair. The only distinct difference between the two was the color of their hair - wild tufts that looked as soft as dandelion fluff - which happened to be the same shade as their respective capes. Your eyes flicker up to Ewan, but he appears as shock as you are. Perhaps the two imps had perfected sugar glider stink to the point even a werewolf couldn’t tell the difference.
“When were you going to tell me this,” you hiss, returning your attention to the two imps. Another question rammed into your head as you leaned forward, eyes narrowed. “When was Tabaeus going to tell me!?”
Carelessly, Bjarka and Liuva shrug in response. Neither seem particularly wary as you loom over them.
Taking advantage of your outraged quiet, Ewan steps in, “What's your story, you two?”
The two imps half-turn toward Ewan, before exchanging glances with one another. A silent conversation seems to transmit between the two, before both give a relenting shrug. Liuva speaks first, their eyes flicking from you to Ewan as they speak, “We just wanted to be pampered.”
“We saw how humans cared for pets and took the form of something cute and fluffy.” When Bjarka speaks, you realize they were the one who spoke first. Their tone is deeper than Liuva’s own. Bjarka sighs dreamily, hands clasped together and pressed to the side of their face like some sort of 1950s schoolgirl lost in a pleasant daydream.
“Tabaeus knew what we were right away,” Liuva takes up the line, admiration coloring their voice and pitching higher. “But they were kind.”
“They didn’t treat us like problems,” Bjarka adds, their nose wrinkling as their tone sours.
That bitter tone is mirrored in Liuva’s voice as she adds, “Like annoyances.”
Turning to you, Bjarka’s expression turns dire and genuine. “But Tabaeus did want us to behave.”
“So we did.” Liuva solemnly nods, though you could swear you see their hand move behind their back. It’s a movement that reminds you of a child crossing their fingers behind their back.
The story seems rather scant, you think. Why would they choose to willingly be people’s pets? What about the man who ‘sold’ them to Tabaeus? You bite your tongue on the very questions. Those curiosities could wait. There is one question gnawing at your head, wanting answers more. “Why didn’t they tell me about you two?”
Once again, Bjarka and Liuva exchange looks. Concern crimps both their faces, but it is Bjarka who turns to you. “They were looking for the right time, but it never came around.”
“They were worried about freaking you out,” Liuva mumbles, giving you yet another shrug.
Swallowing heavily, you ask, "Did you see them leave?”
"Yes, they were with another vampire. Slimy and sleazy.” Raising their little hands, Liuva wiggles their tiny fingers and makes a face.
Ewan and you nearly speak as one as you both knowingly say, "Lachlan.”
Both imps shrug and make a sound as if to say ‘if you say so.’ Both sets of dark little eyes flicker between you and Ewan, quiet now that they had brought you up to speed of their own circumstances.
Your brain is still trying to process yet another turn when Ewan gets the conversation back on track, “Alright, so how do we find Tabaeus?”
Bjarka, the imp with the darker furred cape, turns those ink-deep eyes on Ewan. Something in their expression glimmers with vague amusement and practicality. “You already know a witch.”
“Jemma?” Ewan perks up and you can almost see a pair of canine-like ears standing tall.
Your head snaps to the werewolf, your eyebrows raised. “Jemma’s a witch-witch?”
Awkwardness causes Ewan’s shoulders to pinch, a wince of a smile tugging across his lips as he nods an affirmative to your question.
You knew your co-worker was into the esoteric stuff and some spirituality. Tarot and gems, woo-woo paranormal stuff, and the like. But those were just trends flooding the mainstream now. It didn’t seem like that much of a stretch to just believe she was simply a human dreaming of something more to life.
Then again, you were currently in your kitchen, discussing how to find a vampire with not just a werewolf, but two imps. Could you really be surprised?
“When did my life become a paranormal drama?” You groan and press your face to the table, arms outstretched around the two imps. If it bothers them, they don’t seem to notice. One of them - Bjarka you guess, judging by the position - pats your forearm consolingly.
You hear the apologetic smile that crosses Ewan’s lips as he teases, “I think that’s just what happens when you befriend a vampire.”
---
Soon enough, you find yourself at Jemma’s studio with your supernatural entourage. Jemma’s apartment is what you expected it to be, with all her witchy implementations in plain sight. Perhaps that was why the occult had gotten a boost in recent years. Magic users and the supernatural were tired of hiding.
Jemma’s home is cluttered, but comfortable. Being a one-room studio, there were no walls to delineate the kitchen from the living room, though Jemma had hung up curtains to separate her ‘bedroom’ from the rest of the space. Plants overran the kitchen, with leafy fronds hanging from the ceiling and pots clustered around the sink. A long table, covered in bottles and candles and even a small cauldron, separated the kitchen from the living room. Books and trinkets scattered about on any available surface.
“I might be able to track them through scrying,” Jemma sighs once you have brought her up to speed. Her lips purse and her eyes narrow as she admits to her potential inability, “but if they’re part of an old coven, they may be protected.”
By your side, on the frayed couch in Jemma’s living room, Ewan growls a quiet curse. You stare at the coffee table in front of you, eyebrows furrowed. A fabric drapes over the squat table and, upon the cloth, a candle and box of closed tarot cards sits. You still feel adrift, unable to think of anything effective in the situation. Perhaps it’s Tabaeus’s lingering thrall keeping you unfocused.
Against your chest, you feel Bjarka and Liuva shift in an inside pocket on your jacket. You’re not sure if it’s an imp thing, to sleep as often as they do, or simply a luxury of their life as pseudo pets. The thought invariably leads back to Tabaeus, how they had cared for the imps and how the imps had spoken so darkly of their usual treatment.
Before you know it, you hunch over, your face falling into your hands. You dig the heels of your palms into your eyes, the pressure relieving the pulse of frustration in your thoughts. Ewan’s warm, heavy hand sympathetically presses to your shoulder a beat later. There’s a long moment of silence as you breathe, before you drop your hands and glance to the man beside you.
He offers you an encouraging, if weak, smile. You return a smile just as flimsy as his. It’s Jemma’s rough voice that breaks your gaze from Ewan’s eyes, “Did either of you let them feed from you?”
“Yeah,” you reply, trying to fight down the embarrassed flush as you meet Jemma’s critical gaze.
“I did too.” Ewan raises his free hand, flinching under the look you and Jemma shoot him. His expression takes on a bashful edge, his gaze bouncing between the two of you though not meeting either look head-on. “It happened in the van after you fell asleep and we were, uh, getting to know each other still. They needed a boost.”
Unable to help yourself, you snort in amusement. Especially as you catch the increasing blush beneath Ewan’s stubble.
“Well, I think that's your answer.” Jemma leans back in her wooden chair, arms crossing over her chet. “If vampires feeding on Tabaeus, or vice versa, could remain connected, then you should have a connection too.”
Your attention flicks back to your co-worker, a furrow pinching between your brows. “How do we tap into that?”
“That is the million dollar question, isn’t it?” Jemma’s narrowed eyes rove over her work table as her fingers tap against her biceps. Just as you start to think this will need more research, Jemma stands and heads into the kitchen, riffling around in a drawer. She returns with a fresh pack of sewing needles and two little glass vials that remind you of bead containers from a craft store.
Jemma shoves the vials and needles toward you. “Prick your fingers and give me a drop, both of you.”
You and Ewan comply, carefully drawing and collecting the blood. Once the vials are handed over to Jemma, she turns away. In the short amount of time, she has her little cauldron filled with purple liquid and bubbling over a hot plate. The room fills with an indescribable scent as liquid boils in the small bowl and the witch references a number of books. She hums to herself as she throws more bits into the occult stew, making the liquid glow a gentle blue.
As Jemma toils, insecure thoughts creep into your brain. Should you even be doing this? Tabaeus chose to leave and wanted you safe. Hell, he might even be the reason why your brain is so fuzzy every time you try to think about saving him. By going against his wishes, could you really bring him home? Or would he stay where he was out of a sense of duty? Dread swells up in your stomach, pinching at your expression.
You feel Ewan’s arm snake around your shoulders, tugging you into his side and startling you from your thoughts. “Don’t worry, we’ll find them.”
“Maybe that’s what I’m worried about,” you admit, casting a glance up to Ewan’s face. Confusion paints his expression and so you go on,  “Lachlan seemed powerful and who knows how many vampires are under his leadership? Even Tabaeus felt powerless against Lachlan.”
Ewan is silent for a long moment, his eyebrows dipped into a ‘v’. You don’t expect he’ll have anything further to say, but he surprises you by slowly feeling his words out, “I think that’s just what Lachlan wants Tabaeus to believe.”
“What?” Straightening a little from your slump, you gaze intently up at Ewan, trying to determine if he’s just trying to make you feel better or if he’s being genuine.
“Lachlan smells like a power-hungry creep and what better way to maintain power than to keep a threat under control?” Ewan’s gaze is no longer on you. He’s staring off into some middle distance, his thoughts churning in directions you can’t possibly imagine. Briefly, you wonder if this had something to do with his old pack. “Tabaeus is old and, from what I know, the older a vampire is, the stronger they are.”
You press your lips together, acknowledging Ewan’s point, but still worried. “Even if they were created as a Memory Keeper?”
“That I don’t know, but no one else seems to know either.” Ewan shrugs, offering you another of his helpless but hopeful smiles. For the first time since Tabaeus left, the expression makes something stir in your chest. Maybe a little of that hope is rubbing off on you.
Settling back, you consider what Ewan has said. No one else seems to know a blasted thing, that is true. Maybe there is hope to find Tabaeus, to bring him home, to rid all of you of Lachlan. The problem simply is figuring out how.

“PUUUUUUUUUSH!”
Your heartbeat thumped loudly in your ears, your legs bent and a hand supporting each of your thighs. One belonging to Jongin and the other to Kyungsoo.
This past 9 months has been laborious to say the least. You never expected to get pregnant within your first year of marriage, especially when the child did not belong to the man you married. When you found out, you were excited and happy to be sharing such a deep connection with your husband, however you knew the baby most likely wasn’t his due to your frequent nights spent with his servant.
The child was currently crowning and it took every ounce of strength in you to continue to push.
“You’re doing great Princess, keep pushing!” Vivian called out from below you as she assisted the other midwives.
You were most thankful for her during your pregnancy. She had learned lots of helpful information pertaining to it all from the classes she attended, aiming to become a midwife herself. She was someone you trusted wholeheartedly and couldn't be more grateful for her support.
A few more pushes and the baby was born; a little girl. They laid her on your chest and she instantly stopped crying, but your tears began to fall. It felt weird knowing you were the mother to this child, her safety, security and someone she would grow to look up to. When you looked down to get a better look at her, your heart filled with warmth. She had looks that would be envied by many in her growing years. You hoped it wasn’t so obvious to everyone else, but she shared striking features with her father. Those full lips and big eyes that were undeniably from Kyungsoo.
Of course it was a secret that he was your lover but you knew it would become harder and harder to explain why she looked so much like him. “Maybe because I spend so much time around him” would be an excuse that no one would believe but be the best you could come up with. Now wasn’t the time to burden yourself with the matter, your eyes were heavy and sleep deemed itself more important.
When you woke up, Kyungsoo sat on your left as he flipped the page over in the book he held in his hands. He looked up when you shifted in the bed and immediately put the book down to rush to you.
“Hello my love, how are you feeling? You did so well today.” He rubs your head and kisses your forehead lovingly. He holds your hand in his and rubs it with his thumb.
“Tired, but I want to see her. Her beautiful face is escaping me already.” You sat your body up against the headboard with his help.
“Jongin insisted on staying with her while the midwives made sure everything was just fine. They will bring her back in here shortly, so for now just rest and don’t push yourself too hard.” He paused for a moment before he spoke up again. “She's so beautiful just like you my love. She truly is a bundle of joy.”
He smiled as he spoke about her and it swelled your heart. He often came off as standoffish to everyone else but you knew the real person under the shell. It brought you much sorrow knowing that you would have to raise the child as Jongin's, fearing that anyone would find out the truth.
Jongin has been patient with the affair in itself but you know he wishes things were different. He tries to hide the jealousy that lives inside him like a parasite, a virus that ruins his happiness, but sometimes he can’t help wonder if the aching beats his heart pumps are from wanting you all to himself. Putting a strain on their well established friendship was one thing you hated yourself for but knew there was no turning back the hands of time; not that you would have done anything differently.
"Seems like you have a guest." Kyungsoo says and before you can question him, there's a knock on the door.
Vivian comes into the room with a bright smile on her face as she sees you're now awake. “Hello lovely mama! You did a great job today!” She came over to grab your hand and sit beside you.
Kyungsoo got up and bowed before leaving the room to give you two some privacy.
“You have a beautiful daughter Princess, I know Prince Jongin is ecstatic!”
You weakly smiled at Vivian and nodded. Truthfully and thankfully she didn’t know of your occasional late night erotic adventures and you wanted to keep it that way. If anyone were to chastise you for the deal you made with your husband, you wanted Vivian to have no association.
She holds your left hand in both of hers as tears dropped onto the blanket below. “I was actually quite frightened for you Princess. I wanted no harm to befall you while pregnant. I wish for you to always be blessed with good health…I cannot lose my closest companion.”
The glistening wetness on your cheeks made you realize you were crying with her. It was a fear that frequented your mind yet you put up a good fight to ignore it. An idea that pestered you for your attention like someone waving their hand from far away. She spoke about it as though it would and could never happen, but to you it was speaking it into existence. Just then, the huge double doors to the room opened and in came Jongin with the newborn and one of the midwives. Vivian bows to him and leaves the room with the other woman, waving to you as she closed the door. You straightened your posture and happily open your arms to allow him to place the small child within them.
“She has your beauty my darling, she will always be the perfect princess of our kingdom."
Your eyes filled with more tears. “I'm sorry my first child does not share your blood."
He shushed you and rubbed your cheek. "It’s unfortunate I do not have a child of my own, but I do not hold any resentment to you or how the child came to be. Promise me that one day we will share offspring?" You nodded and he placed a kiss to your scalp. "Is it okay to call the midwife back? She said she will guide you through the breastfeeding."
You nod as you look down at the sleeping child, loving the way she fit so perfectly in your arms. She was on the smaller side but not considered unhealthy. A head full of hair and the softest skin you've ever come in contact with. "Rose" you said out loud but more to yourself, letting your tongue become well acquainted with the name you've just chosen for your very first child.
Later that night while everyone was asleep, you grabbed Rose from her bassinet and wrapped her in a blanket before heading down the long hall towards Kyungsoo's room. You knew he'd get the most time with her when you brought her around while the watchful eyes were covered by their lids. Before you could raise your hand to knock, he softly turned the knob and opened the door. He welcomed you both with a huge smile.
"I could have come to you my love, you need to rest." his brows furrowed with concern as he reached out toward the infant.
"I know, but I felt the need to walk a bit and I wanted to see you."
You weren't sure he heard what you said, his eyes were locked on Rose's face. Everything about him was gentle; his smile, the way he held her, even the usual mysterious aura that he often exuded was gone as if never there. You slowly made your way to sit on his bed, back resting against the few pillows that sat against the headboard.
"She needs much rest I suppose?" He looked up at you while rocking her gently.
You chuckled and nodded. "Yes, Vivian said she will sleep until she gets hungry or needs to be changed. She doesn't have much else to do and sleeping helps her grow."
As if on cue, her face scrunched and her lip quivered letting out a few small whimpers. Kyungsoo's eyes widened and he tried shushing her to no avail. He handed her to you, rubbing her head softly, wanting her to go back to her relaxed state. He watched as you brought her up to your chest to suckle, amazed at how fast she stopped crying. He climbed onto the bed and moved the pillows to sit behind you. He let his arms drape your sides, supporting yours as you held her.
"Would you like to stay with me tonight? I would hate for you to have such a long walk back to your room. "
You thought about it and your body was quite sore so walking right now would be a hassle. One night wouldn't hurt and as you've promised yourself many times before, you'd leave early in the morning before the castle became lively so no one would catch you coming from Kyungsoo's room.
3 months in and you were finding it difficult to cope with the changes that came with being a mother. The lack of sleep, the constant hunger, sore nipples and your decreasing lack of self esteem. You sat in the maid's quarters to spend some time with Vivian and to people watch while everyone partook in their jobs or hobbies. You came to see Vivian and the others often especially since they loved seeing Rose and how much she develops each time. She too loved the bustling atmosphere, never seeming too overwhelmed by the noise or fast pace. Vivian rolled up the sleeves to her dress as she came to sit in front of you, clasping her hands as a signal to hand over the baby.
“Aunt Vivian is finally ready to hold her baby bud.” She excitedly grabbed her and watched her lips spread into a gummy smile.
Once she was in her arms, you realized just how exhausted you felt. Your body no longer felt like your own and the emotional and physical toll finally all came crashing down at once. You suddenly became aware of your slouching posture, pouching stomach and sagging skin. You hated to admit it but you felt ugly, especially when the woman sitting across from you looked like someone painted her with the finest of tools.
Vivian is a beautiful girl and it's a shame no one has come to claim her yet. Fair skin and rosy cheeks, copperish red hair that stayed in a low bun on most days and was let down for special occasions. She was a few inches taller than you and her body was thin. She always smelled like honeysuckle which you thought came from her bubbly and caring personality as no one else smelled like her. She looked so youthful and there was always a light that seemed to follow her. You couldn't take looking at her anymore and asked her to watch Rose for a while so you could get some rest.
You walked back to your room, but instead of stopping at the bed, you dragged yourself to the bathroom where you stood in front of the mirror, looking at the changes to your body that came with being pregnant. The depression was steadily kicking in, your mental health going downhill all in this moment. It sounded like a myth when you would hear women talk about postpartum depression. How could you slip into that mindset when you have a beautiful baby reminding you just how strong and precious you are as a mother? It wasn't about that, you loved your baby but there was an incomprehensible feeling that loomed over you that made you want to curl up and die. There was no cure and you had to let it pass. You wish you could jump in a time machine and skip to the part where you felt better, where you felt like you again.
You retreated to your bed to try and escape your thoughts. Maybe they would go away with some proper sleep and a good meal. However, the more you relaxed, the more your body sunk into a pit of misery, the blanket wrapping you in sadness; and now the tears flowing from your eyes drowning you in sorrow. You needed to be saved from this torture. How long would you have to wait to wake up happy, to not hate the image you saw in your reflection? What happened to the cheery girl that you've always been? It's impossible that one baby changed that and you weren't going to start blaming her now.
It was burdensome wanting to vent your feelings but feeling like no one would understand even though you were surrounded by other mothers. Maybe your feelings were invalid and everyone would think it stupid. Would they tell you it was too early to feel like this and that it only got worse the more children you had? Now did you even want more children? Did you even want Rose? No, don't think like that. Even if she was conceived out of wedlock, you had no right to not want her anymore. It was all a ruse that your heart, mind and body evoked to shift your personality and make your life a living hell. "You can get through this" you told yourself and let your eyes drift you off to sleep.
It's already been 10 months since you gave birth and you were finally at the stage where you can say your bouts of depression have passed. Sadly, you were dealing with a new problem; the distance between the two friends was getting undeniably larger. You constantly found yourself breaking up the silent arguments they were having, almost always over trivial things or you. "She's not even your wife!" Jongin said once and Kyungsoo's hand balled into a fist but he turned and walked away before he did something he would regret. You knew it would only get worse if you didn't take matters into your own hands, so tonight you were going to sleep in Vivian's room and let them hopefully solve their issues on their own time.
"Where are you going my love?" Jongin asks, his face dropping slowly as his realizes you're taking your things with you.
"Jongin I can't handle seeing your friendship with Kyungsoo crumble into pieces. I would prefer not having to be the mediator every time there is a quarrel."
He can't find the words and stutters as he reached for your receding form as it left out the bedroom door. On your way to the other side, Kyungsoo sees you in the hallway and his face lights up.
"My beautiful baby Rose and my sweet love" He then sees that you have more than you needed for a walk through the castle and you were going the wrong way to get back to your room. "Is everything okay my love? Would you like to stay with me tonight?"
You appreciated that he didn't automatically assume that Jongin did something wrong, but he himself wasn't in the clear either. "I would not Kyungsoo. As I told Jongin, I shall no longer be getting myself in between your frequent disagreements."
Disappointment evident on his face, he came to give you a kiss on the forehead and a kiss on the cheek to his daughter. "I understand. My apologies for putting a burden on you often or even at all."
The apology was sincere but it wasn't enough for you to want to end your discipline early. Vivian’s room was comfortable, always just the right temperature so staying with her was never an issue. She loved your company and didn’t get much time with you as she was always so busy with her studies.
You laid on top of her fluffy and soft sheets, cradling Rose against your chest, feeling her light breaths. You pouted and sighed anticipating the end to all of this, you just wanted everything to go back normal. This is not what you expected to be going through right after your emotional slump. You wanted the attention back; the long hours spent talking about any and everything, looking into each other’s eyes, finding security in each other’s embrace. You wanted Kyungsoo. The thought of him is what coast you to sleep and what fueled your dreams that night.
It felt like years went by since you’ve last been in your own or Kyungsoo’s room, but it had only been 3 weeks. “I needed some time to myself” is what you told Vivian, which was part of the truth and the perfect reason in her mind to why you stayed with her for so long, even though it wouldn’t have taken much to convince her. You sat in the garden to watch Rose crawl around and explore the many things she couldn’t when she was strictly confined to your arms. You were so deep in focus that you didn’t hear Kyungsoo greet you when he walked over.
“I’ve missed you, you’re starting to feel like a figment of my imagination.”
“Kyungsoo…if only I could tell you how much I miss you.”
He smiled shyly and grabbed your hand to place a kiss on the back. “You can tell me my love, how much have you missed me?” He cocked his head and stared at you waiting for you to reply and you felt your heart do flips.
Gosh was he a beautiful man; those beautiful big eyes and plump soft lips. Those lips you wanted to kiss and have kissed on many occasions. You were falling in love all over again. Who wouldn’t when he was the sweetest and most caring man? He chuckled seeing you so lost in his beauty and he leaned over to kiss your forehead, snapping you out of your thoughts.
“Perhaps I know now just by how you’re looking at me even though I would have loved to hear you say it.”
A blush rose on your cheeks and your ears turned red with warmth. He roped you in so easily every time, you were weak to him, but you knew you had to stay strong against his attacks if you wanted your plan to work. “I would if you and Jongin didn’t make me so angry.”
He smiled sheepishly forgetting you were still upset with them and hoping you forgot as well. He went over to Rose and picked her up so she could touch the flowers higher up on the bushes. She loved him and he treated her like the delicate flower she was. She would always get so fixated with his face and played with it a lot, almost like she could tell she was practically looking in a mirror. The more she grew, the more their matching features became. Thankfully no one mentioned it as you thought previously and God knows you wanted it to stay that way.
“Is it alright if she stays with me for a few hours? I’ll bring her back to Vivian’s room before dinner.” You nodded and he walked over placing a hand on your waist. He bent to brush his lips over yours. “I’m sorry we’ve caused you so much stress my darling, we’ve been immature but I hope you’ll forgive us soon.” And with that, he was on his way with Rose back inside to spend some quality time.
You wondered what Jongin was up to at this time since it was already getting late. Not having been back in your room for so long, it almost felt foreign like you’d only seen it in a dream. He almost crashed into you when you walked in, he seemed to be leaving out at the same time. His eyes lit up seeing you standing in the doorway.
“Are you staying with me tonight?” His voice almost raising an octave from the excitement, forgetting why he wanted to leave in the first place.
“Hmm, it depends on you my prince.”
It was taunting, almost seductive of an answer and you knew he took it as a challenge. His hand around your waist stopped you from brushing past him to get to the bathroom.
“And what can I do to make you stay?”
There were multiple answers you could give him and ones you leaned more toward like making sure you only had the strength in your legs to sleep next to him. Yet you weren’t going to tell him that and sound so needy, so alternatively you kissed him on the cheek and wriggled from his grasp to continue your journey to the restroom. You could almost hear his wheels turning on the opposite side of the door although he kept quiet.
You walked out of the bathroom to see him sitting on the bed. It was apparent in his posture that he had a goal in mind, one fueled by nothing but desire. In all honesty, you wanted him just as much but you didn't want to seem desperate or like you were going to give in from disciplining him so quickly. When you walked over to him, he got off the bed and stood in front of you, making it press into the middle of your back.
“You know I love you right?” He says, punctuating his sentence with a kiss.
You nod your head and wrap your arms around his neck. “I do know and I know it’s as much as I love you.”
It was a lie. Not about you loving him but the amount in which he loved you could break a scale. He leaned in with each of his hands resting on your sides as he kissed you. The longer it went on, it quickly turned from innocent to sinful. His hands slid up your nightgown and yanked your panties down. With ease, he sat you on the high bed and spread your legs out without breaking the kiss.
He used his fingers to play with your increasingly throbbing pussy. Your arousal made it easy for him to slip two fingers in. They curled upwards and he moved them in a “come hither” motion, still not breaking the kiss. It was turning you on more and you couldn't help but moan into his mouth.
“How badly do you want me? Tell me.” He finally removed his lips from yours and stared at you deeply with his fingers picking up speed. He knew just how much you craved the physical contact and he knew just what to do to satiate your hunger.
It was becoming hard to concentrate but you wanted him to know just how good he was making you feel. “So badly, I want to feel you inside. I miss having you there.” You licked and bit at his lip, earning a small groan from him.
He pushed you back and further up on the bed and came to hover over you. He removed both of your clothing so that you lay naked with each other. He guided his length into you and stuck his fingers with your juices into your mouth.
“Suck as if that was me in your mouth. Don’t stop until I tell you to.”
You had no room to disobey and his building thrusts made you comply. Jongin had his days where he was just as dominant as Kyungsoo, a side of him that wasn't discovered until after you got married, and yet they still could not be compared. There was something about Kyungsoo that made you always want to fall to your knees and have him look down on you, make you feel like the only option you had was to submit.
Jongin sped up his thrusts and got deeper each time. He took his fingers out your mouth and bent your legs to your chest as he held them down at the back of your knees. The new angle brought you more pleasure and your mouth hung open as you moaned loudly. The bed was beginning to rock with his thrusts but he seemed to pay no mind to the creaking.
He pulled out and sat on the bed and pulled you into his lap, his back facing the door. You circled your hips as he rolled his upwards, making him hit that spongy spot inside you. He kissed you sloppily, trailing it from your jaw then to your neck. Your head popped up when you heard the door to your bedroom creak open. You tried to stop moving on him, but he held you in place.
“Jongin wait, it’s Kyungsoo.”
His grip on you tightened. “I know who it is, keep riding.”
You were confused but your hips never halted. Kyungsoo’s eyes bore holes in you as he watched you move up and down on his friend's dick and when your brows furrowed as you moaned, you can see him swallow thickly. He slowly removed his clothes and walked closer towards the bed. Your body warmed and your cheeks flushed when he reached his destination. Not once have you ever had both men in the room with you during such an intimate moment and truthfully it was awakening a side to you that you didn’t know existed.
Jongin broke the silence and spoke from below you. “We wanted to make it up to you, as long as you’re comfortable with it.”
If it wasn’t for Kyungsoo standing at the edge of your bed with nothing covering his body, you would have questioned Jongin. But it was obvious, tonight they were giving you an apology in the most pleasurable form and you weren’t going to deny it. You reached out toward the standing man and Jongin flipped so your back now faced Kyungsoo.
He climbed onto the bed and Jongin laid back with his dick still inside you. His hands rested on your hips and he began thrusting up into you again. Kyungsoo was at your back and his lips came down to connect to your neck. He licked, sucked and bit at the skin and his hands came up to massage and pinch your nipples.
“Feels good doesn’t it?” He bit your earlobe and licked at the shell of it.
“Oh god yes…don't stop” your head fell back onto his shoulder.
Jongin dug his nails into your hips and thrust into you at a vicious pace. With his thrusts and Kyungsoo’s abuse on your neck and nipples, the sensations had your body on fire. You were almost screaming with how loud your moans were, music to both of their ears.
“I-I’m g-gonna cum!” The knot in your stomach begged to snap and your toes started to curl.
Kyungsoo tilted your head back with his hand under your chin. “Open” he says and when you do, he trails some of his saliva in your mouth then brings you into a deep kiss. His hand wrapped around your neck and he squeezed the sides just enough to make your head feel fuzzy.
Under you, Jongin roughly circles the pad of his thumb over your clit and eases you into your orgasm. Your walls clenched around him and he quickly lifted you off of him, his dick spasming against your stomach as he came in spurts. Your chest heaved as you came down from your high and you opened your eyes. Kyungsoo stared back at you calling you “good girl” and planting another kiss on your lips.
“We’re not done yet my love” He slightly whispered in your ear, turning you over in the process. “Suck.” He tapped his dick against your lips and you immediately obliged.
You diligently sucked and stroked him while he bent over to finger you. The mix was lewd and you loved every second of it. His other hand held your head in place so he could thrust up into your mouth. When he felt a tear drop onto his skin, he pulled your head off of him.
“My good girl, lay back for me.” He kissed his way from your lips down to your pelvic bone, sucking and biting. He opened your legs and lazily kissed and licked up your inner thighs. He spread your lips with his two fingers and spit on your pussy before going to suck on your clit. “You always taste so fucking good."
Jongin tapped on your cheek from behind you, making you turn your attention to him. “You didn’t forget about me did you darling?”
He stroked his length and you watched him upside down. He slipped his dick past your lips and you happily sucked. You felt the air leave your lungs slowly the more the night went on. They were wasting no time in making you lose your mind over their actions. Kyungsoo stopped eating you out and stood on his knees. He rubbed the head of his dick harshly against your clit, making you squeeze around nothing. He pushed all the way in one go and cursed when his tip kissed your cervix.
“F-fuck you feel so good.” Was all he said before pulling almost all the way out then snapping his hips forward, his speed just as fast or maybe a tad faster than Jongin.
Your strangled moans sent vibrations through Jongin’s dick shoved down your throat, his moans sounding slightly high pitched the more he tried to hold them back. His hands played with your nipples, increasing your sensitivity. Kyungsoo’s nails dug into your sides and he bit at your ribcage. You felt like you were going to die from the overstimulation, it was absolutely blissful. Jongin eased his way out of your mouth to let you breathe and regain the oxygen you lost.
After a few moments he thrust back in and bent down to suck and play with your nipples. “How does it feel to get fucked like this? How long have you wanted this?” He asked knowing you couldn’t answer with your throat obstructed, but your muffled moans and shaking legs gave him his reply.
“You’re so beautiful like this, dick pleasuring you from both ends. Such a good girl, just listen how wet you are.”
Kyungsoo was right, the sounds that came from your pussy were downright obscene. Your orgasm was approaching for the second time tonight, yet this one proved a lot more intense than the last.
“She’s close.” Kyungsoo says, obviously speaking to your husband as if he couldn’t already tell.
Jongin sped up, your throat now sore from the constant friction but adding to the overall satisfaction. Kyungsoo pulled out causing you to whimper at the loss of contact but Jongin sits you up and then down on his dick. He wraps his arms under your knees and connects them behind your head. The new position gave Kyungsoo the perfect angle to roughly rub your clit as Jongin thrusts ruthlessly into you.
Kyungsoo bites his lip while he quickly strokes his length, watching your face contort from the constant pleasure, chasing his own orgasm. Your toes were curling and Jongin’s thrusts were getting sloppy. Jongin kissed at your shoulder and Kyungsoo kissed the calf on one of your legs. The familiar feeling of fangs bared down into the skin and with a few more swift rubs on your clit, you squirted harshly all over Kyungsoo as your orgasm washed over. The man behind you choked out an “oh fuck” as he came inside you, the warmth from it making you clench even harder. Seconds later, cum from the man in front of you sprayed over your chest and stomach.
As you lay down, not even worrying about the sticky and wet mess over your bodies, Kyungsoo cleans himself off and makes his way to the door.
“Kyungsoo” you call out to him meekly, head lying on the chest of a sleeping Jongin. “Won’t you stay?”
“I will not, I have fulfilled my purpose of pleasuring you and you seem to accept our apology. That is all my heart could desire so I shall not be extending my stay.”
You were greedy and getting too in your head. This wasn’t something they technically wanted but knew you’d enjoy and used it as a way to earn back your trust and your presence back in their beds. The guilt reappeared, and seeing Kyungsoo leave the room made you realize how unhinged the love triangle was.
You were much too fucked out now to run after him, so you instead snuggled under Jongin’s arm and let your eyes close.
The next morning you threw on a robe over last night's attire and headed downstairs to the kitchen for a glass of water. Kyungsoo stood next to the chef as he sampled what was for today’s breakfast.
“Good morning to you both.”
They both turned around and bowed to you, Kyungsoo not bothering to do so fully as he always does. You disregarded it as him being busy and focused. One of the maids poured your water and you thanked her before leaving, taking note that Kyungsoo still didn’t give your existence the time of day.
He ignored you not just in the morning, but in the afternoon and well into the night, even bleeding into the next morning. Now it was becoming concerning, this was so out of character and atypical for him. It came to be that you were running out of ideas to grab his attention but he just wouldn’t budge. Everyone was starting to notice and mention his bad attitude too. “He seems so agitated, the slightest thing might peeve him off” you heard someone say in passing.
You couldn’t help but wonder if you did something wrong, he did only begin to act like this after last night. Even if it was your fault, you’d prefer to hear him say it rather than not have him speak to you at all. It was late now and everyone retreated to their rooms to go to sleep, but apparently Kyungsoo had other ideas when he stopped you right before you reached yours.
“Would you like to come outside and see the stars with me?”
You couldn’t understand why he offered after ignoring you for so long, but alas you were itching to get to the bottom of this even if it meant interrupting your sleep. The night air was cool, breezes skating through the sky every so often. He guided you through the garden that he knew all too well and sat you down in a spot where you had the perfect view of the stars above.
He watched you watch the stars and his heart warmed seeing you smile. “I…I’m sorry.” He continued when you turned to look at him, confusion clearly written over your face. “I’m sorry I have not been treating you well. I’m just…after last night I don’t have the gall to act as if I’m content with sharing you. Yet I know that wanting you for myself is preposterous since you were not mine to begin with.”
You couldn’t agree but you also couldn’t disagree. Your mind was set on Jongin the first day you saw him and you made an oath to yourself to marry him. It was the tug on your heart strings from Kyungsoo that had you wanting more than your original desires, but it was nothing short of fate meeting him in the way you did. You loved them both equally, but knowing that everything made him feel so torn stabbed you right through the heart. The agreement to share you with your husband came easier in its early days.
It made you feel sorrow for Jongin too. He worked so hard to express his feelings for you and wait to marry you, but all of this would have him believe that your love was easily swayed. There was no answer that would make this better for either party and now that you have a child with one, the connection between you grew more complicated by the day.
“What can I do to ease your sadness?” You asked as you place your hand over his.
His head dropped and he let out a sigh. “Nothing. Nothing will make me feel as though I’m not messing things up for you and your future. I deem it my fault that you fell for me in the first place and that, I do regret. It’s on me that you don’t fully express your love for Jongin. As a vampire, love is not something we take lightly. I want a soulmate that can be my source of happiness for as long as I live and that is quite literally forever.”
You reached for words that moved further away from you the closer they got to the tip of your tongue. You didn’t want to lose him and you know he wished for the same. The guilt was getting the best of him and there was nothing to do to make it better. This was your true punishment, living out your dream that slowly became a nightmare.
“I want you to forget me. Act as if you have never known of my existence and I will only live as your servant. I do not wish to continue my life in such grief and want what is best for you.”
“You’re what’s best for me Kyungsoo” is what you wanted to say but the words did opposite of what the falling tears did. “Please!” was all you managed to say as your hand slipped off of his when he stood up to walk away.
The weeks that went by were treacherous. You gave up on trying to communicate with him in any way you could think of. From touches, to glances and the most obvious, just talking to him. Nothing seemed to work and you undoubtedly believed he didn't love you anymore. But how could he let you go so easily when he tried so hard to have you? You weren't going to settle for the thoughts that convinced you of the negative, you had to ask him one last time if you truly meant anything to him.
Today was Rose's birthday and the castle was filled with crowds upon crowds of people ready to celebrate the one year anniversary of her birth. They all greeted you with kisses to your cheek or a hug, congratulating you and Jongin on your little one. It was no longer awkward to act as if she belonged to him, but the smile you put on wasn't genuine. You kept sneaking peeks over at Kyungsoo every chance you could get, losing the confidence to approach him. He seemed so much more scary in this instance, looking like he would bite off the head of anyone who dared to talk to him.
He stood at the other end of the room, not taking a single glance your way. It hurt being ignored like this. You know he did it for his own sanity but why was it slowly driving you insane? Has he really fallen out of love with you? What would it take for him to at least talk to you the way he used to? You felt invisible in his presence and all you wanted was for him to give you just a pinch of attention. You excused yourself while everyone took turns wishing blessings for a long and happy life for Rose.
You pushed through the crowd and went to go toward her room to grab some lighter clothing since she seemed to be burning up in the ones she wore, growing more agitated by the second. Kyungsoo happens to be walking up the stairs already, giving you the perfect opportunity to question him.
"Kyungsoo..."
He turned around and without looking at you, he bowed respectfully and turned on his heels to continue up the stairs, but you rushed and grabbed his arm. He startles and turns around.
"Kyungsoo, please just look at me. Please don't ignore me, I'm starting to break."
He turns to stare, looking at you as if he's disgusted or annoyed with your determination to get him to speak to you. What has he become? What have you done to him?
"Does me looking at you make you feel better? If it does, am I left to deal with my sadness alone?"
"Kyungsoo, I didn't mean-"
"You didn't mean what? To make me look at you so I can fall in love with you all over again just so I once again don't get to have you to myself?"
You go to speak up but hear the abundance of approaching voices, so you quickly drag him up the remainder of the stairs against his will. You take him to the opposite side of the castle where you know it's usually quiet and barren.
"I'm sorry for everything that caused this. I never meant for any of this to happen but I love you Kyungsoo and you ignoring me is tearing me apart." You poured your heart out to him when you came to a halt, somewhere in the middle of the empty hallway. "It pains me even more knowing you no longer love me. How am I supposed to live this way if you don't love me?"
"Who…who said I didn't love you?" He paced around in a small section of the hallway and pinched the bridge of his nose. You can tell he was upset, not at you but at what you were saying because he didn't know how to express how he was feeling. "I've never stopped loving you and that's the problem. You want me to look at you darling? Well I want you in my arms every night but I can't have that! I can't even claim my daughter as my own!"
He stopped his pacing and walked over to you and held your face in his hands, desperation all over his face. "You are my always and forever and I can't let anyone know that. I must love in secret in fear of being exiled or killed. Why would I want that for us?"
You were being selfish again. Only thinking about yourself and how easily things can come to you because of who you are and who you're married to. He doesn't have that privilege and never will, things just don't work that way and never has. Why did he have to fall in love with you out of all people? It would have been so much easier if the love was one sided.
"Kyungsoo, I-I..."
He let his lids close gently and he let out a sigh before he closed the space between you. He kissed you like he needed you, wanted you, craved you. Like he hadn't seen you in years and he's finally able to show you just how much he longed for you. You were quickly melting into the kiss, hands travelling up to his neck as his fell to the small of your back. You thanked God for the seclusion, it would be terrible if anyone caught you two now.
He pulled you in closer to him, and your hands caressed his chest. You worked quickly to unbutton his blouse and slide it off his shoulders. His kisses moved down to your neck and he backed you against the wall. Your hands slid down and went to unbuckle his pants. Although no one was around, your mental clock started ticking, only a matter of time before everyone wondered where you had gone. He easily picked you up by the thighs and you held onto his shoulders for support. Your dress settled on your legs and he moved in between them.
He was able to thrust in no problem with the amount of slick that accumulated just from the kiss. It felt so good having him inside of you again, it's been weeks since your last encounter. His thrusts were slow but deep. He was making love to you and didn't care that it had to be up against the wall. He knew what he was doing right now would only make him want you more but ignoring you was becoming insufferable. To feel your legs wrapped around his torso, your skin against his lips, your walls clenching around his dick. It was perfect. Your moans were the tune that charmed the snake, the siren serenading her prey, he was hypnotized.
"Cum for me my love, I can feel you getting closer." If he was going to enjoy this moment, he was going to enjoy it to the fullest. His tongue glided across the side of your neck and his fangs sunk into the skin. The sweet taste of your blood filled his mouth and he moaned as he felt you tighten around him.
There was something about the danger of it all. He could easily drink to his heart's content and leave you with nothing but an empty vessel but he never did and always stopped when your head was on the verge of getting light. He knew just what to do to keep you wanting more and what would be enough to satisfy him. To orgasm like this made up for all the time you missed with him. You weren't going to be the only one to finish, so you dropped to your knees and wrapped your lips around his throbbing length.
"Cum in my mouth Kyungsoo, don't let me forget your taste."
You slid the underside of the head over your tongue as you looked up at him with doe eyes. His hand tangled in your hair and he released in your mouth with a choked moan. He helped you stand and stuffed his dick back in his pants. He placed a kiss on your forehead and rubbed your back, catching his breath along with you.
“Always remember I love you no matter what, but I can’t live the rest of my life knowing you can’t be mine. I want you for as long as we live and you know just how long that is for me.” Your head rested in his hands now and he looked in your eyes lovingly. “When that day comes my love, I will be here ready for you.”
His lips brushed against yours and he smiled when he pulled back. He bowed and walked back down the hallway, leaving you there to collect your thoughts. To others it would seem like not much changed, but to you it felt like you finally had the last piece to your puzzle. He made your days feel complete and with the distance between you this past few weeks, it felt like your days were starting to mix together. One thing was for certain, you were determined to keep the flames of your love ablaze.
A few nights later, you jolted awake some time after midnight. In contrast to when Rose was a baby, you were actually able to sleep through most of the night without her waking up crying. Something felt off though, and you were only going to feel comfortable going back to sleep if you found the reason you were awake. It made your heart race and your anxiety tickle your senses. You looked over at Jongin who slept peacefully next to you.
Throwing the blanket off your legs, you eased your way off the bed and went over to Rose’s crib. Within the dim candlelight you could see the beads of sweat rolling off of her forehead and chest. It was quite cool in the room so sweating was the last thing you expected to see her doing. You carefully placed the back of your hand against her forehead and immediately felt the burning heat emanating from her.
You guess this is what they call “mother’s instinct”, a force and sense of urgency that only a mother would know which brought you from the deepest depths of your sleep. You picked her up and ran her to the bathroom where you quickly ran a tub with cool water, not knowing what else would work. You removed both of your clothing and sat with her, hoping it did something, anything. A new fear emerged, your mind always thinking of the worst outcome before the best. Rose had always been healthy, only catching a cold once or twice, so seeing her here with brows tightly knit together and her mouth agape as she wailed, you knew something was up. You thought nothing of her behavior at the party and now you beat yourself up for not taking note.
“Oh my poor baby…” you let the tears you didn’t know were building, fall down your cheeks and to your chin.
Your mind searched for anything that could help her right now and it stopped on Vivian informing you on the benefits of breast milk. Thankfully Rose didn't push you away, but her fever just would not budge. Eventually it was enough to relax her to sleep and you too dozed off, still sitting with your bare skin against the cold porcelain.
The sound of the door is what woke you up and made you realize you were still where you last remember. Jongin's smile dropped as his eyes adjusted to the sight in front of him.
“What’s wrong? Why are you in here with her?”
You were crying again, Rose still just as hot as she was last night lying on your chest breathing heavily. Jongin helped you rush her to the servant’s quarters where you’d hopefully find Vivian or anyone else who knew of something to treat her with. By this time you were hysterical, clutching onto Jongin’s arm as he laid her down to be examined. Thankfully word spread quickly and Vivian rushed in to check on you and the toddler.
“Something’s wrong Vivian! I don’t want to lose my baby!” Your nose was red, tears old and new streamed down your face and you were starting to hiccup out your words.
“I’m sure she’s okay Princess, we’ve called the doctor and he’ll be here soon. Everything will be okay.” She grabbed your hands within her own and pleaded with her eyes for you to believe what she said, although tears brimmed them.
10 minutes later and two servants came with the doctor, leading him in the right direction. He bowed when his eyes landed on you.
“Princess do not worry, the examination will be quick and thorough and I’m sure we’ll have something to cure her. Please go have a cold drink for yourself to help relax.”
You nodded through sniffles and left out the wooden double doors with Vivian. Kyungsoo rushes down the hallway, stopping you and Vivian in your tracks, looking very concerned when he sees the state you’re in. He bowed and Vivian excused herself to go back in the room with the doctor. He stepped in front of you and wiped your tears with his thumbs.
“What’s happening my love? Please tell me.”
“She’s sick Kyungsoo, s-she had a fever all night and I tried sitting in cool water with her b-but it didn’t work and she still has a fever and I’m so scared Kyungsoo!” The words poured out of your mouth faster than you planned and your nonstop tears fell with them.
“Shh shh, she'll be alright, I know she will.” He pulled you into a hug and rubbed your back. He had tears of his own to hold back from seeing you cry and knowing of how dangerous fevers were for his young daughter.
The doctor had long gone and he gave you medicine to give Rose throughout the day. She was fast asleep now but you were scared to take your eyes off of her. Jongin was just as scared as you were and sat and watched her with you. He cared for her deeply as if she was his own and losing her would turn him into a mess.
"My love, you need to eat something. You've been watching her all day but what about you? It's alright, I can watch her so you can relax for a while." He tilted his head with his arm wrapped around your shoulder.
"I can't leave her, I won't be okay if I do so..." You brushed the few strands that stuck to her forehead and gave her a small kiss. You physically felt like you couldn't move from that spot and if your eyes ventured off of her, you'd miss a crucial part of whatever was going to happen.
He nodded understandingly. "As you wish. I'll go and get you something." He stood and pressed a kiss to your scalp before leaving.
She opened her eyes soon after and stared up at you expressionless. A soft knock on the door broke you out of staring back at her. Kyungsoo enters cautiously and you gesture for him to come over. He held her within his arms and she played with his fingers.
"Has she been recovering?" He questioned and grabbed your hand.
"Not yet unfortunately. The doctor gave me some herbs to give her thrice a day but so far the fever is still quite high."
He looked back down at Rose then back at you. "I think I might know something that can help, do you mind if I try it?"
"Kyungsoo she is your child also, you don't need my permission to help her."
"But I also wouldn't go against your wishes if you said no. It is not my child alone and most importantly you are the mother so I respect however you may feel."
You smiled shyly and he raised your pointer finger to his mouth. You watched as he used his canine to puncture the skin. You mentally winced from the small pain but the feeling was all too familiar by now. The small drop of blood that leaked from the wound, he brought to her mouth and let it drip inside. Her tongue moved around the inside as if she tried to not waste any although it was a singular drop. Her breathing quickened and she panted heavily. She scrunched her nose and squeezed her eyes shut. You watched in awe as two white fangs grew out her mouth and rested on the top of her bottom lip. She opened her eyes and just like you thought, two piercing red ones like the kind you've seen from Kyungsoo stared back at you.
"Kyungsoo look!" You shouted in amazement and he chuckled and nodded his head. You never thought about how different it would be caring for a hybrid child like this but you were thankful Kyungsoo was there to help you along the way.
She sat up in his arms and reached out to touch your face, bewildered by the sudden changes. When her skin touched yours, you realized just how much cooler she felt.
"It worked...Kyungsoo, my God it worked!" You bawled, thankful that you had your healthy baby back. "How'd you know it would help?"
"I wasn't entirely sure but I knew how much faster we heal, she just needed something to awaken that side of her."
Jongin came back in with one of your favorite meals and sat it down next to the bed. You immediately told him of the good news and that Kyungsoo was the reason behind it all. To your surprise, he hugged him tightly and tears dropped onto his shirt.
"I can't thank you enough Kyungsoo, I am forever indebted to you."
"Please, I am only doing what's right. You being my close friend is enough for me." Jongin looked at him and he patted the crying man on the back.
Rose was cured, but it was only the beginning for the sickness that plagued the castle.
Servant after servant, maid after maid, guard after guard, everyone seemed to catch the disease as it quickly spread within the castle walls. It picked and chose for who it became terminal and soon it seemed like a funeral every week. Jongin as king of this castle had lots of hard decisions to make on how to save his people. He worked all day and night, sometimes never leaving his study or finding the time to sleep. He was overworked but he couldn't bring himself to stop when people were starting to drop like flies from this random illness. Apparently it was widespread and people outside the kingdom walls fell prey to it as well. How it ventured into your circle was still a mystery but that was the least of concerns.
You had the available, uncompromised maids make Jongin some tea that would help him relax. You walked to his study with a cup in hand and knocked on the door.
"Come in." He said muffled on the other side.
"Jongin, I've brought you some tea. You've been in here for 3 days now my love."
"Thank you my dear wife. I'm sorry I haven't been spending time with you and Rose, it's all so much and I need to do what I can to help"
You walked over to him and he welcomed you in his lap. You rubbed his head and he rested it against your chest. His arms wrapped around your waist and he hugged you tightly.
"I miss lying next to you darling, this desk is so hard and cold." He looked up at you with puppy eyes.
You turned slightly in his lap and grabbed his face in your hands, bringing your lips down to his. His body relaxed immediately and he reciprocated the kiss. His hand slid up your leg and under your dress and he playfully rubbed circles high on your inner thigh. Before he could deepen the kiss, he turned away and broke into a violent coughing fit. You patted his back to offer some assistance, but it didn't seem to help.
"My prince, is everything okay? I'm afraid you're overworking yourself, perhaps you should take a break for today."
“I'm fine, just a cough and you know, that sounds wonderful.” He looked up at you lovingly and smiled. “Let’s go, I will come back for this later."
His eyes didn’t hesitate to close once his head hit the pillow. The fatigue was evident in the bags under his eyes and the limpness of his body. Everyone would agree that everything was scary and happening too quickly. It was as they say, “tell them you love them before it’s too late”, and right now was too late. You thanked the heavens that Rose didn’t die from it but not everyone was so lucky.
You decided to give Jongin some time alone and walked down to Kyungsoo’s room. The castle was bare, you didn’t really have to worry about anyone seeing you. When you reached his room, you knocked three times before he opened it. He looked just as tired as Jongin, his eyes looked at you but more so off into the distance.
“Kyungsoo?” You waved a hand in front of his face to barely see a change in focus through his pupils.
“I can hear them; everyone. All the screams of pain and agony, I hear everything.”
You pushed further into the room and brought him in your arms. “Kyungsoo it’s okay, I’m here…”
His larger frame relaxed as you held him at the foot of his bed. Of course there would be downsides to having such great senses but an experience that you didn’t share was hard to put into perspective; you could only guess what that must feel like. Now you wondered if it was taking a toll on Rose as well. Your heart twinged for them; sympathy being the only thing to offer. You put your hands over his ears and he looked up at you, silently thanking you although you know that barely did a thing.
He grabbed both your hands and placed kisses over all yours fingers. “My sweet girl, you’re so good to me.” He moved his lips down to your wrist kissing each two times, alternating between them. “Why are you so perfect? I'm so scared to lose you.”
He cupped your cheek in his hand, using the other to gently brush your hair behind your ear. He looked at you like you would disappear if he stopped and the idea of that frightened him, seeing as he's helped carry more coffins than he could count. You sat up on your knees and he pulled you into his lap. He caressed your back or massaged your hips, whichever satisfied him the most in that moment. He pulled you in by the nape of your neck to kiss him deeply, to close off his hearing and make him forget. You cupped his head in your hands once again, not skipping to cover his ears.
Everything you did made him fall into deeper depths of love with you. Why did you care for him so much and why was there no one else like you for him? You had to be his forever, he wouldn’t be able to take it if you weren't and would find any way to end his misery. He loved you and promised to make every second with you precious. He got so caught up in your presence and actions that he really stopped hearing everything around him happen. He was turning into putty under your gaze, lips puffy from the kiss. He was done with your lips now, moving down to kiss everything he could reach.
He punctuated each of his kisses to your body with an “I love you”. He slowly stripped you until there was nothing left to remove. You mirrored his actions and rid him of all his clothing. You sat back in his lap and ground your hips against his slowly. He hadn’t taken his eyes off you since the kiss started and he watched your reaction as he teased parts of your body. He rolled your nipple between his fingers, earning a small whimper from you. He held your hips in place and stood up to throw you onto the bed, before climbing in himself. His kisses started at your ankles, taking his time showing his appreciation.
Up your calves, to your thighs and eventually ghosting over your pussy. He teased you, his lips never stopping where you wanted them, but you were patient with letting him go at his own pace; whatever helped shut out the world around him. Finally he spread your lips and dived in, keeping eye contact. He flattened his tongue and danced it over your clit, sucking and biting. That tightness in your stomach you knew all too well started to build in the pit. Your head fell back as your hands threaded through his hair. He added two fingers to the mix, thrusting them in and out at a quick pace, your walls clenching around them.
"K-kyungsoo, fuck, please I'm gonna cum!"
Right before you came, he removed his fingers and stopped sucking on your clit to come up and capture you in a hungry kiss. "Don't cum yet, cum with me okay?"
You nodded and he aligned the head of his dick with your entrance and pushed in slowly. You watched with him as he slid in and moaned when he bottomed out. His thrusts were slow and deep, hitting that gummy spot in you.
"Look at me.." He tilted your chin with his finger. "You love me?"
"Yes...of course." Your mind was fuzzy, the deep strokes driving you crazy.
"Use your words, let me hear you say it." He was just as breathless as you but his pace never slowed.
"I love you Kyungsoo, so much. I'll love you forever and always."
He caught his bottom lip between his teeth and sped up his thrusts. If you were close to your orgasm before, you were even closer now. You wanted to wait for him but that was easier said than done. His hand was around your throat now, squeezing tightly. He bent down to kiss you once again and dragged his teeth over your bottom lip. You were clenching hard around him now, waiting for him to give you the okay.
"You want to cum? Cum with me my love."
His thumb rubbing over your clit is what pushed you over the edge, legs shaking and closing around his waist. A few more sloppy thrusts and he pulled out and came on your stomach. He dropped down next to you and pulled you into his embrace. He kissed you on the bridge of your nose and moved the hair out of your face. You laid there with him in silence, eyes threatening to close, but then you remembered Jongin.
"Kyungsoo, I have to go check on Jongin, he didn't look too good earlier."
He sat up on his elbow, clearly looking distressed by your statement. "I told him to take some time to himself, but he's quite stubborn. I'll come with you, maybe I can convince him to let someone else take over for a few days."
You smiled at him and cleaned off before retrieving your clothes that sprawled on the floor. Vivian still had Rose with her so you knew not to worry while she was in such good hands. The journey back to your room felt cold, those same gut wrenching instincts kicking in the closer you got. Unfortunately for you, the feeling wasn't wrong and when you opened the door, you see Jongin slumped over in the bed coughing up blood into his hand.
"NO, Jongin!" You quickly rushed over to his aid, extending your handkerchief. There was already so much blood that it barely cleaned what was left over on his lips. He looked so lifeless with how pale his skin became. "What's happening? Jongin please!"
"No please, go away, I don't want you seeing me like this." He spoke through labored breaths, weakly pushing at your arm to drive you away. "Kyungsoo, take her!"
For a moment you forgot he even followed you in here. He stood in place with wide eyes.
"Kyungsoo please help him! Is there nothing you can do? Can't you help him like you helped Rose?" You begged and pleaded with him, yet he stood stationary.
"I...no, there's only one thing I can do to help but it would take such a toll on him and it would be a burden for you to witness. There's also no guarantee it will work..." He trailed off as he finished his sentence as if it just clicked in his mind what he ultimately would have to do.
"Please Kyungsoo! I'll have to take those chances, just don't let him die!"
You were reliving your fears. Time slowed down and sped up all at the same time, dizzying your brain, shaking your vision. You couldn't lose him. Kyungsoo was important but Jongin was your first love. The man who stuck true to his word from day one and never let his kind heart change. It was now that you regret not spending more time with him if these were his last moments with you. You regret feeling like you weren't giving him your all even though you cared for him down to your soul. But most of all you regret being the cause of all the sadness and sorrow he tried to hide. You needed another chance, a chance to make things as right as they could be.
Kyungsoo looked at Jongin's frail and pale form, brows furrowed. His friendship was on the line before his very eyes yet he felt so conflicted. He witnessed firsthand what would become of the changes he would experience if he went through with the plan. But he wanted to save him and with the way you were crying hysterically next to him, there was but one option he had right now and he could only pray that it actually worked. Time was running out, and Jongin's breathing slowed to a stop. It was now or never.
"O-okay, but you have to leave or else I won't do it." He didn't mean that but he knew how much it would hurt you to see what happened next. "Just trust me."
You nodded hesitantly and stood to leave the room. You left a small crack in the door to peek in. You watched him shakily grab Jongin and cradle his upper half in his arms. He looked down at him, tears painting his cheeks, scared of the outcome. Kyungsoo closed his eyes and took a deep breath, one that seemed to last for days on end. He lifted Jongin's body higher and bared his fangs. He opened his mouth wide and let them sink into Jongin's neck and it almost looked like he was trying to take a chunk of his flesh.
He stilled his movements for a while and when he let go, Jongin took a deep gasp, chest expanding as if his ribs would break. Kyungsoo held his hand in his and watched closely. What happened next made you cover your mouth to stop you from gasping or screaming. Jongin's body convulsed harshly, back arching from the pain that ran through his veins. He screamed in agony, hand clutching his chest. Tears flowed from his eyes as he writhed in pain, screaming, panting.
It was indeed hard watching your husband go through hell. He squeezed on the hand that Kyungsoo provided, trying to find any and every way to help him through this torment. The screaming didn't stop and eventually he resorted to calling out your name and begging for help. That was your last straw. You burst through the door and rushed to his side to coax him through his suffering.
"My love I'm here!" It came out more like a scream to combat the volume in which he was screaming.
His breathing increased more and now he was gasping for air. His eyes were rolling to the back of his head and his back arched one last time before his chest collapsed and his body grew limp. He was no longer breathing, nothing, still as the night wind. You and Kyungsoo watched him, you grabbing his hand for emotional support. You weren't ready to see Jongin like this, to imagine him in a coffin so soon if he didn't come to. Just when you were about to give up, he started to breath normally as if he wasn't thrashing in pain a few minutes ago. His eyes blinked open, a few tears prickling the sides.
It took him a few moments to get his bearings straight, but he eventually noticed the two pairs of eyes watching him like a hawk. "W-what happened? It feels like I died." He questioned as he sat up and looked between the both of you.
You both breathed a sigh of relief, happy he didn't end up on the side of this not working. He brought a hand up to his head, holding in the pain that throbbed in his brain. His eyes were glossy, blinking to bring him closer to reality. He reached over next to the bed and reached for the tall glass of water, lips plastered together from the lack of moisture. The clear liquid slid down his throat easily in one gulp but still not quenching his thirst. Kyungsoo carefully placed a hand on his shoulder, making him face his direction.
"Jongin that's not going to help. You need to-you need something else."
Jongin looked over at him and raised an eyebrow. Kyungsoo looked over at you and you understood faster than the disoriented man did. He pulled you in by the arms and you tilted your head so he had access to your neck. For the second time tonight, he pierced the skin with his fangs a bit more harshly this time and let the blood drip down to your collarbones. Like a flipped switch, Jongin was quickly lapping up the blood like he had been starved. It wasn't until after you flinched when you felt yourself slipping past the point of no return that he slowed down.
"That's enough Jongin, you're going to make her faint." Kyungsoo nudged him on the shoulder and broke him out of his hypnotic state.
Jongin sat back looking at the blood flow from your veins, not understanding what he's seeing. "W-what have I done?"
"I'm okay, you're okay. Kyungsoo saved you." You wrapped your arms around his shoulders trying to calm down his heavy breathing, the feeling being all too much for him. "Just relax, you're safe now."
He clung to your waist for a while, letting his heart rate slow down before he dared to move. If you asked him a few months ago what he’d be doing now, it definitely wouldn’t have anything to do with being a vampire. This changed so much for him, most importantly how now he was destined to live a life of eternity. But what about you? You were his top choice, his only choice. He wanted you and no one but you, yet your fates have changed in a matter of minutes.
He didn’t want to do it alone, of course Kyungsoo would be by his side like always but his wife, you were his everything. He wouldn’t pressure you, he wanted you to think about it on your own and make the decision for yourself, but god did he want it to happen soon if it were to happen at all. When he finally let go, his body felt normal, like it did just a week ago.
Breaking the silence with his voice felt like accepting the change so he opted for thanking Kyungsoo with a hug for now. He had so many questions, so many things he needed to know but right now he wanted to splash some cold water on his face as one last attempt at waking up from what felt like a dream.
Soon everything was back to its lively self, the sickness having ran its course. Jongin received much praise for how well he handled it on such short notice. His work was far from done, still he relished in his achievements and great performance.
You sat in the red and velvety chaise lounge with gold accents in Jongin’s study, Kyungsoo standing right by his side. They discussed further plans to deal with any similar situations with Kyungsoo being his newly appointed privy counselor.
You watched Jongin so closely now, curious if he’d go through any more changes or if all of Kyungsoo’s hard work would go down the drain. He reassured you saying, “don’t worry love, he’ll be just fine, his time isn’t running out any time soon” but you couldn’t let go of the thought of losing him, especially since you damn near witnessed it just a few nights ago.
You thought deeply about what he said, Jongin was no longer mortal, a perpetual promise of life. It wasn’t a new idea but now your mind couldn’t think of anything besides how scared you’d be dying alone. You had a daughter to worry about and a promise to keep to Jongin and if you were just as immortal, it would be easier to carry through.
“Bite me.” You say jolting from your seat.
Kyungsoo raised an eyebrow and chuckled, “What?”
“I want you to bite me too. I can’t be the only one here destined to my grave.”
He glanced over at Jongin who looked back at him. The taller man walks over to you and sits you in his lap.
“Are you sure you want this? I want you to be absolutely sure.” The stern look in his eyes almost made you shy away from your decision but there was nothing that would make you happier.
“I’m sure, I want to be your wife forever and I want our love to be imperishable.”
Kyungsoo walked over now and tilted your chin up, "You saw what Jongin went through, it's not easy. Even though it only lasted for 3 minutes, it feels like years." Jongin hummed in agreement behind you.
Every time you thought about your future, they were in it. Whether you were old or young, they were always there and you didn't want it any other way. As soon as you nodded, anxiety jumped in your nerves making it hard for you to not breathe heavily. The two men looked at each other as if silently making plans and Kyungsoo looked back down at you.
"If you're really sure about this, you need to relax."
As he finished his sentence, Jongin left open mouth kisses to your neck and just below your ear. If this was their plan to get you to relax, it definitely wasn't working. You were already so worked up and they barely did anything. Jongin was at your mouth, tongue exploring inside like he was searching for something and Kyungsoo kissed every inch of exposed skin as he removed your clothes.
All three of you were completely naked within a matter of minutes. Kyungsoo crouched down and threw your legs over his shoulders. His lips were hasty, moving up your inner thighs to eventually land on your pelvis. The little kisses up your stomach gave you butterflies. He joined Jongin at your neck, sucking, licking and biting, prepping the area for what's to come. His fingers were back between your legs and the other had his hands massaging your breasts.
"Are you ready love?" Jongin asks behind you and when you whimper in response, the fangs you were accustomed to sent a surge of pain through your neck.
It felt like hours before they released their grip, the feeling of cold running through your veins making your consciousness slip from you. It was almost scary how fast you were blacking out like they slyly injected anesthesia. Everything soon faded to darkness, you were in a pit of nothingness, floating endlessly. You reached out for stability, anything that made you feel safe, yet you were left grabbing thin air. A bright white light caught your attention, calling you closer.
When you felt within arms reach, it changed to red and your body was viciously pulled down. Now you were falling with nothing to hold onto and apparently nothing to land on. You were suddenly aware of the sharp pain in your neck, feeling much worse than you've ever felt before. It was excruciating and that said a lot as you knew of the pain of childbirth. As hard as you tried to bring a hand up to your neck to bring some relief, your limbs were nowhere to be found. You were falling faster and the pain only got worse to the point that it was hard to find the air in your lungs. You were choking; gasping for any gust of oxygen.
Just as you felt your body make a "crash landing", your eyes opened to you being in Kyungsoo's arms, your legs settled in Jongin's lap. You understood now how you weren't living your life to the fullest. The enhanced sensations were enough to make you believe in magic, you felt spellbound. You've never seen things so clearly, heard things so easily, smelled things so deeply. It was overwhelming nevertheless but the flood of thirst overpowered it all. You tried swallowing the little saliva you had left to hopefully coat your tongue. You sat up, getting nestled in between the two observing men.
"Come here." Kyungsoo pulled you more into his lap, rubbing your cheek with his thumb.
He offered his neck to you, ready to be victim to your first feeding. So when your teeth sank into his neck and this first drop of blood hit your tongue, it became clear just how easily he could have let his mind go blank and drink to his heart's desire all those times he gave in to his fierce impulses. You didn't have that type of self control just yet, gulping down the large amounts of the red liquid. He didn't push you away and you knew he wouldn't. He'd let you leave him with nothing but the feeling of contentment from you being the last thing he gets to lay his eyes on before he closed them for eternity. You hesitantly broke away, blood dripping from the sides of your mouth.
"Satisfied?" The look in his eyes was dark and surrounded in a lusty haze. He licked from where the drop ended on your neck and up to your lips where he swiped a tongue over them to slip it into your mouth. He sucked on your tongue to get the remainder and admittedly the action had you throbbing.
Everything felt so much more intense in this state, your senses awakened in the best way possible. Everything you craved from lust to hunger ate away at you down to the bone. He pushed his thumb past your lips and watched you through hooded lids as you sucked like you wanted the skin to fall off. Jongin was at your back, licking up your spine and came to bite down on your shoulder. Has pain always felt this good?
You moaned out a breathy "fuck" when Kyungsoo slowly played over your clit. "Good girl, that's it. Let us take care of you."
He leaned back and lifted you right over his eager dick. A moan fell past your lips as you eased down his length and he thrust up the rest of the way. The grip on your hips was sure to leave bruises tomorrow. Jongin slid a hand up the nape of your neck and gathered your hair within it and yanked your head toward him, making your back arch. He captured your lips in a sloppy kiss, frantically moving to your jaw and back. The man under you reached the deepest parts of you with the angle you gave him and you were clenching onto your sanity.
"Couldn't handle the thought of not having this forever my darling?" Jongin's breath was hot against your ear, sending shivers down your spine and to your core. "I wouldn't have been able to live without this pussy either."
He snaked an arm around your waist to taunt your clit with his fingers. The pleasure was immense, the salacious sounds being the perfect addition. Kyungsoo pulled out as he reached his orgasm and laid all the way back to bring you higher on his chest. Jongin took the opportunity to push into you without warning and set a merciless pace.
"You're so beautiful love, you're so perfect." Kyungsoo's praises made your head spin. "Be a good girl and cum while I'm watching."
Your walls fluttered against Jongin and he came within seconds. "Don't let it go to waste..." you craned your neck to look at him and you could feel his dick twitch inside you.
He slowly pulled out and watched his cum drip out of your swollen pussy. He used two fingers to fuck it back into you, following your directions. You all calmed down from your high and rested on the long chair; you on Kyungsoo's chest and Jongin using your butt as a pillow.
"Don't forget, we're yours until the end of time." Jongin spoke from his position behind you before quickly falling asleep.
You smirked against Kyungsoo's chest. "Will you stay this time my love?" You looked up at him with heavy lids, hoping he'd answer before you fell asleep.
"Well there's no need to rush, we have always and forever."
You looked forward to it, having your three, soon to be four favorite people in your life for as long as time went on. Though the journey had some rough patches, you finally made it. To the time that you wished for almost two years ago, when you thought you'd lose both men you've come to love.
