How Does an Exhaust Flange Repair Kit Improve Exhaust System Performance?
Tumblr media
An exhaust flange repair kit is necessary for keeping your vehicle's exhaust system in top shape. Here's how it helps boost performance: 1. Fixes Leaks: A damaged or worn exhaust flange can cause leaks in your exhaust system. These leaks lead to loss of power and reduced fuel efficiency. By sealing these leaks, the repair kit ensures that exhaust gases flow properly, enhancing engine performance. 2. Reduces Noise: Leaks or damage at the exhaust flange can make your vehicle louder than normal. Using a repair kit helps seal these gaps, making your car quieter and more pleasant to drive. 3. Improves Fuel Efficiency: When exhaust gases leak, the engine has to work harder, which can decrease fuel efficiency. Repairing the flange keeps the exhaust system tight, allowing the engine to run more smoothly and use fuel more efficiently. 4. Lowers Emissions: A proper seal helps reduce harmful emissions. With a fixed flange, your vehicle’s exhaust system can more effectively filter out pollutants. In short, an exhaust flange repair kit helps your car run better, quieter, and more efficiently, ensuring a smoother ride and lower emissions.

do u think the baby is going to grow out of looking so exhausted and decrepit, in a way not unlike Yoda from Star Wars, or is that just what devon rexes look like sometimes? (written with extreme affectionate towards this new little beast)
well to answer that, let's look at his mother
Tumblr media
and his father - who I owe an apology to! this is a complete tangent, but I thought the other stud at the cattery had cucked him, because Belphegor has white spotting but neither of his parents do. which is genetically impossible (it's a co-dominant, not a recessive, meaning it would always be visible)
Tumblr media
but those bat ears of his father, with their notched flanges, are so weird and distinctive! you can see that Belphegor has them, and nearly all of his littermates do too
Tumblr media
SO NOW I'm thinking, the father has to have some white spotting that just isn't visible in his photo! right? like a white tail-tip, or a single white toe on his back foot, or maybe a locket on his chest? I've become an ear truther
but what was the original ask, I got completely distracted by the cuckoldry speculation. oh yeah, aging, yeah I think Belphegor will grow up to look noble and beautiful like his mother and his (maybe) father

He lay like a filthy leech, exhausted with his repletion. I shuddered as I bent over to touch him, and every sense in me revolted at the contact; but I had to search, or I was lost. The coming night might see my own body a banquet in a similar way to those horrid three. I felt all over the body, but no sign could I find of the key. Then I stopped and looked at the Count. There was a mocking smile on the bloated face which seemed to drive me mad. This was the being I was helping to transfer to London, where, perhaps, for centuries to come he might, amongst its teeming millions, satiate his lust for blood, and create a new and ever-widening circle of semi-demons to batten on the helpless. The very thought drove me mad. A terrible desire came upon me to rid the world of such a monster. There was no lethal weapon at hand, but I seized a shovel which the workmen had been using to fill the cases, and lifting it high, struck, with the edge downward, at the hateful face. But as I did so the head turned, and the eyes fell full upon me, with all their blaze of basilisk horror. The sight seemed to paralyse me, and the shovel turned in my hand and glanced from the face, merely making a deep gash above the forehead. The shovel fell from my hand across the box, and as I pulled it away the flange of the blade caught the edge of the lid which fell over again, and hid the horrid thing from my sight. The last glimpse I had was of the bloated face, blood-stained and fixed with a grin of malice which would have held its own in the nethermost hell.
okay but this is legit scary af - why isn't this in ANY of the adaptations but @re-dracula until now???

So today, for a list of notes/shit I've gotta do to this ute to make it functional:
Tray rust: confirmed simple surface rust. Sandblast the rust off then put down bedliner.
Whatever dipshit painted the deep blue on there painted over the bevel. Gotta strip that off.
It has tow plug.
It has 1 original key, 1 spare, and 1 petrol key.
Manual choke.
Heater core needs to be flushed the bloke thinks. Might need replacing, says me. The latter's more likely.
Engine has not been tuned up since rebuild. Will need a tuning now that everything's settled.
It has new manifold gaskets on both sides, new flange gaskets on both sides, and dual exhaust.
Brake master cylinder has a booster—bloke thinks condition of master cylinder is because of shit coating that leaves the factory being the cause of them all rusting. "It's either shit metal or shit coating." I'm inclined to agree—every fucken one I've seen so far that didn't have a brand new—or painted—master cylinder is rusted to fuck. On the plus side the rust is just surface rust but I'm inclined to test that servo housing myself cuz I don't trust it.
Firewall looks good.
No water leaks, wipers are ok but probably need new pulleys.
Window rubber is tight and good, had a boot at one time.
HE HAS A SLIDE WINDOW SOMEWHERE HE CAN GIVE ME!! Probably the first thing I'm doing on this car is installing that fucken sliding window and my rifle rack.
Rear signals don't work because the pins/switches are mixed up, also horn doesn't work. Need to figure this out. If I can't do it maybe I can get that sparky down the block to have a squiz at it.
Engine sounds fucken incredible. 360 V8 with C6 tranny.
GVW is rated at 07500 so it'll hold Matilda.
Wheels are 16in 6ply.
2 petrol tanks, 20gal front & 25gal rear.
Fuel gauge doesn't work. Bloke has the new gauge ready, just hasn't installed it. Maybe there's a problem with the sending unit. Considering it doesn't work for either petrol tank I'm pretty sure it's not a float saturation problem.
Whatever dipshit installed the old manifold gaskets had the wrong size square which caused a leak (maybe F350?)—this is fixed now! She rides smooth.
Rust above windscreen rim causing improper seal along the drain rail—luckily it's not rusted through. Can be fixed but may need a plate welded on. I can do that myself.
Old BB holes in windscreen. I like them for their character but they're gonna crack the entire windscreen eventually, especially in the Australian heat as the windscreen warms. Need to replace windscreen.
One crack in dash around radio, dashboard is clean otherwise. I don't care about the crack but replace radio with an early 70s AM/FM with AUX jack.
ORIGINAL COLOUR IS PEACOCK BLUE WITH WHIMBELDON WHITE STRIPE! Restore to og paint because bloke wants me to. "I'm happy if it goes to someone who'll treat it well and make it look factory."
Passenger mirror is cloudy, needs a clean or possibly replacement.
Engine was rebuilt less that 3,000mi ago and has a 100,000mi warranty.
Bloke will get me a copy of the work order of all the work done to the ute—total of $12,000 for the work done.
"I know he did SOMETHING with the transmission." Tranny likely not rebuilt but WAS removed for alterations during engine rebuild.
Has hooks AND ringlets for turnbuckle attachment for camper.
Has rig mirrors.
Has reinforced tray springs. Has reinforced front, auxillary, and rear shocks.
No carpeting on interior. Get rubber mats I don't want blood in my carpet.
Get a seat cover so Misty doesn't ruin the vinyl.
Has manual steering and manual brakes. Get power disc brakes put in ASAP. I can do the power steering myself. In the meantime, maybe a suicide knob?

Those neighbourhood busybodies are up in arms again. This time it’s about loud exhausts, popping and shrieking as they race by the collector road near our community. You might think, being a car person, that I am being targeted by their ire. Nothing could be further from the truth: none of my cars run right now.
Now, it is true that I’ve had cars with loud exhausts. This is not for any measurable performance improvement. In fact, in most cases, I bet I could drive much faster without all the carbon monoxide creeping into the cabin. No, my deafening bangs and pops on upshifts come fully-earned: rusty mild-steel Walker mufflers from Canadian Tire meeting a badly tuned carb and a distributor that is “a little dicky,” as Grandpa Switch would put it.
Of course, I won’t deny that there is some primal attraction to loud noises. It feels great to be under control of a series of deafening explosions that respond eagerly to the smallest motion of your right foot. In my particular case, though, very few of my cars have a chance of breaking into three digits of horsepower. Installing a wider exhaust onto them just means that, in addition to the usual mice who build nests inside my engine, I’d also have several varieties of Norway rat, some porcupines, juvenile raccoons, and maybe a ferret or two trying to clog up the collector on the header as well. And all that extra backpressure absolutely won’t be good for the intake manifold gaskets, which I made out of an old shoe that I found on the side of the road.
The next time you get angry at a loud exhaust, ask yourself: are they trying to make it sound like that? And if the answer might be no, maybe offer the person some duct tape. No, not the melty fabric kind. You’re gonna want to get the really nice foil kind, the sort they use on stovepipes. Maybe offer up a few split flanges while you’re at it. Hey, isn’t your family’s sleep worth a few bucks?

That Chaotic Night
Cardin Winchester was breathing heavy as he slammed Executioner into a Creep's skull, the heavy mace cracking the Grimm's head with a sickening thud. Black ichor drips off the titanium flanges of Executioner as he removes the mace from the monster's shattered skull.
The Fire Dust crystal inside Cardin's mace had been drained of it's energy, and now he was left with a regular titanium mace. The only thing keeping him alive was his wits. He had been using his Semblance, Dreadnought, on and off, trying to conserve his Aura and only using it only when absolutely necessary.
The world had fallen apart in less then one hour. Cardin was in a burger joint when the final match between Penny and Pyrrha occured, and he watched on in horror as Penny was torn apart. That woman, that strange black-haired woman gave a speech about something or other. It seemed so long ago, but what she said stirred up panic and fear.
And that drew the Grimm in. On top of that, these airships flown by what looked like White Fang dropped off more Grimm! What was wrong with those animals!? To make matters worse, something was happening to the Atlas ships, it looked like they were fighting each other! Did the White Fang infiltrate them too?
Cardin hadn't been able to find or contact Russel, Dove, or Sky, and panic for their safety had begun to set in.
The young student heard the sounds of a kid calling for help. He may be selfish, he may be a bully, but he's not a monster. He starts running towards the voice, his exhausted, burning legs aching with pain, but he couldn't stop.
Rounding the corner of a bombed out building, he found the source of the voice: a small family, backed into an alleyway by a Beowolf and an Ursa Major. The father was standing in front of his family, a rusty pipe held in his shaking hands as he tried to keep the beasts at bay. His wife was standing in front of their daughter, a broken board in her right hand as she gripped her daughter with her left. They were scared, terrified.
Cardin Winchester refused to let them die. Steam escaped his lips as Dreadnought was activated. He could feel his strength increasing, adrenaline pumping through his veins. Cardin bellowed a feral roar as he charged in. The Beowulf and Ursa turned to fight the intruder, teeth bared and claws extended.
The red haired Huntsman-in-training allowed the Ursa Major's claws to glance off his plate armor as he closed the distance on the Beowolf. One quick swing, and Executioner knocked the wolf Grimm's head from it's body. Pivoting on his foot, Winchester raised his sturdy mace to block heavy paws of the Ursa. Usually, the raw strength from the bear-like monster would be enough to knock anyone off their feet. But Cardin's natural strength, combined with Dreadnought, allowed him to block the blow and parry with a mace to the ribs.
The Ursa stumbled back, growling and snarling, swiping with unexpected speed. The claws scraped against his breastplate, leaving large scratches and knocking the wind out of the brash fighter. The Ursa swung again, the claws just missing him, but the paw slammed into his face and torso. His Aura sparked at the contact.
'I'm pretty sure one of my ribs just cracked,' Cardin thought painfully.
Undeterred, however, Cardin moved in close and slammed Executioner into the Grimm's left forleg, causing the beast to stumble. Wasting no time, Winchester brought the heavy weapon down into the Ursa Major's neck, killing it instantly.
The indigo-eyed student took a moment to catch his breath, and he glanced up at the family he had just saved, and for a breif second, he paused in shock.
The father was a Faunas. Though Cardin hadn't noticed it before, the man had a raccoon's ringed tail flicking behind him. The wife was human, and the daughter had black markings around her eyes, like the mask on a raccoon.
If he had seen them on the street earlier in the day, Cardin probably would've made a snide comment, or rolled his eyes in disgust.
But right now, that seemed so unimportant. This family was fighting to protect each other.
Cardin wiped a bit of blood from his busted lip as he narrowed his eyes.
"What are you just standing around for?" he barked out loudly as he waved his hand at the family. "I saw the police set up an evacuation route in this direction, get a move on!"
The family began to follow, the father and mother giving Cardin looks of eternal gratitude. The small half-Faunas girl looked up at the red-haired teen like he was her guardian angel.
"You saved our lives," the husband murmered gratefully, his racoon tail flicking behind him.
"Yeah...sure," Cardin said quietly.
The police had set up a barricade as they attempted to establish an evacuation route.
"Hey, you!" Cardin shouted at an officer as he led the family up. "We've got three civilians. Get them out of here!"
The officer didn't protest, he simply led the family behind the barricades. The little girl turned around, her blue eyes exaggerated by the dark mask around them. She gave Winchester a small wave.
Cardin glanced back at the street he came from. He could evacuate right now, but he knew that there were more civilians out there.
So, the bully went back into the fray, Executioner becoming stained with Grimm ichor as he looked for more survivors.
Bu as Cardin chased down an Ursa Minor and killed it, he saw some Atlas Knights stepping out. These robots had been helping clean up some Grimm, protecting people. Which is why Winchester froze in shock when the Knights turned their guns to him.
Time seemed to slow.
Bang. Bang.
Cardin opened his eyes to see two of the Atlas Knights missing heads and sparking. His jaw dropped as he watched a man in a torn shirt absolutely destroy the group of robots in the span of a few seconds. Half of his torso looked to be prosthetics, and a large white revolver was gripped in his hand. It took Cardin a moment to recognize his savior as General James Ironwood, the Headmaster from Atlas.
"This area is secure," General Ironwood said in a commanding voice. "We need to-"
His words were cut off by a dark-haired Huntsman pulling out a mecha-shift scythe with an intense glare directed at Ironwood.
"Qrow, this isn't my doing!" the general called out as the scruffy Huntsman began to charge.
Cardin was still frozen in shock as he watched Ironwood flip his gun around, prepared to fight this Qrow guy as he jumped. But instead of going for Ironwood, Qrow went for the Griffin behind him, slicing the flying monster in two.
As the two halves hit the ground behind him, the scraggly man let out a dry chuckle.
"You idiot, I know you didn't do this," Qrow muttered. "So, what now General?"
Ironwood stiffened up, and and began giving Glynda and Qrow some directions. The initial shock had worn off for Cardin, even as one of the Atlas warships crashed into a field outside the city, just a few blocks away.
Cardin Winchester took a deep breath, and stepped towards General Ironwood, Ms. Goodwitch, and Qrow.
"Tell me what I can do to help."

This month marks 10 years since I completed Brad's 1967 Beetle performance drivetrain upgrades. Car is still going strong and looking great, built to be a mostly stock appearing "sleeper".
Featuring a 2387cc built here at RISmachine with Autolinea pent roof aluminum case, DPR Machine 86mm Chevy journal crankshaft and lightened flywheel, CB Performance 5.5" h-beam rods, AA performance 94mm P&C, CB straight cut gears, Steve Long Racing Cams EXR grind (.584" at the valve) with 1.4:1 rockers, CB Performance 44x37 CNC Super Pro heads, dual Weber 48 IDFs, Magnaspark ignition, and an A1 sidewinder exhaust. Transaxle built by Jim's Custom VW to handle the power, Gene Berg mid mount, HD VW rubber mounts, and a 2" narrowed beam up front.
The last 10 years have been relatively uneventful. Lots of miles, really just oil changes and valve adjustments needed. A few upgrades here and there when Brad wanted to improve things. The worst problem was an exhaust flange gasket that let go a few years back that required replacement.
The car spent the winter here for maintenance and a once over. A new crank pulley and sand seal were needed, that's about it. Built well and built to last.
And yes, we know the rear bumper isn't correct for 1967. The cosmetic restoration was done by a prior owner. One day we'll fix it, for now it's fine.

Everything is Temporary
Part Nine
Tumblr media
Josh x Reader (f)
Warnings: breastfeeding, cursing, angst
Find All Parts Here
You spent the rest of the night getting up every two hours to feed Odette. Josh helped change her diapers and soothe her to sleep while you pumped. The next morning, you were exhausted. You could barely keep your eyes open. Josh noticed and offered to take care of Odette while you took a nap.
“No, that’s okay. You’re supposed to be leaving.” You say waving him off.
“Dammit, come on. You’re exhausted. None of your family live around here so they can’t come help you and your friends can’t come help until Odie’s immune system strengthens. I’m all you’ve got right now. Let me help. Put everything else to the side for now and let me help.” He says as he walks over to you and puts his hands on your shoulders.
You knew he was right. There wasn’t anyone else that could come help right now. So, with a sigh, you nod your head and say okay.
“This doesn’t mean that I’m saying that you can move in. This is just temporary, until she gets into a routine.” You say.
“Okay. I’ll stay until you’ve got a routine going with her. It’s temporary.” He says, putting his hands up.
With that, you go to lay down for a nap. While you’re asleep, Josh took care of Odette. Feeding her, changing her, holding her and rocking her. Even when she was asleep, he couldn’t seem to put her down. He didn’t want to miss a single second with her. Walking around the house, he hummed softly to her songs that he’d enjoyed as a kid.
“You are so precious to me. You are my most treasured person in the world. I have never known a love like the one I have for you.” He whispers to your sleeping angel.
You don’t wake up for another couple of hours. When you woke up, you felt so much more refreshed. But, you were engorged. Wincing, you sat up and looked down. You’d soaked through your nursing bra and shirt. Sighing, you got up and went to take the soaked clothing off and change into something clean. You put on a new nursing bra and decided to not bother with a shirt until you were done feeding Odette and pumping. Calling for Josh, you hear him start to come down the hall. Walking out of your room, you go to meet him so you take Odette and feed her.
“Woah.” Josh says when he sees you, eyes going straight to your chest.
Scoffing, you take your daughter from his arms and say, “I’m going to go feed her. Would you mind washing my pump parts?”
“Um— Oh, yeah. I can do that.” He says, eyes never breaking contact with your chest.
Rolling your eyes and shaking your head, you walk into her room and close the door behind you. She nurses for about a half hour before she’s satisfied. Putting her over your shoulder you start to pat her back to burp her. Once she lets you a few good burps, you swaddle her and rock her to sleep before putting her down in her crib.
Grabbing the pump, you leave her room, making sure to close the door back behind you. Walking into the living room, you see Josh sitting on the couch having fallen asleep. Not wanting to wake him, you softly and quietly walk into the kitchen to retrieve your pump parts. Once you grabbed them, you walked back to the living room and sat in the chair across from the couch. Sitting the pump on the side table, you start to put together the hoses and flanges. You get it all out together and hook everything up. Turning on the pump, you lay your head back to try and relax.
“Oh! Shit. I’m sorry.” you hear Josh say.
Raising your head and opening your eyes, you look at him confused. “What’s wrong?”
“I just didn’t think you’d want me to see you pumping.” He says with his head turned away from you.
“Josh, you’ve seen me nursing Odie. This is no different. You’re fine.” You chuckle.
“O-okay. So, are you hungry? I don’t think I’ve seen you eat today.”
“I don’t think I've eaten either. I’m actually starving. Would you mind ordering something and having it delivered?” You ask.
“Sure, no problem. What are you wanting?”
“I could really go for a veggie wrap and a milkshake.” You say.
“Veggie wrap and milkshake. Got it. Do you want an oatmeal bar too? I saw online that those are good for milk supply.”
“That would be great actually. Thanks!” You say with a smile.
Josh orders the food and it arrives just as you finish pumping. As you put away the breast milk, Josh puts the food on plates and takes it all to the kitchen table. Putting the bags in the freezer, you turn and walk over to the table and sit.
"Thank you for the food. How much do I owe you?" You ask.
"Nothing. You just pushed my child out of you, you'll be eating for free and getting whatever you want for the foreseeable future." He says before taking a bite of his veggie burger.
You smile and laugh, "Well thank you."
The two of you enjoy your meal in a comfortable silence. When you finish your food, Josh takes the plates and takes them over to the sink.
"I think today went pretty well considering it was our first full day home." He says, turning back toward you.
"Yeah. It went well. Thanks for letting me catch up on some sleep. I didn't realize how tired I was." You say.
"It's no problem. Glad I was here to help." He says, giving you a pointed look.
You roll your eyes and say, "It was nice to have you here. Hope it stays that way."

VRP x TFL Italy New Exhaust Line Released for European Cars
VR Performance (“also known as VRP”) has partnered with TFL Italy to release a series of high quality performance exhaust systems for popular European vehicles such as Porsche, BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, and Audi. Each VRP system from TFL is hand built to order in their factory near the heart of Italian horsepower in Modena. Instead of just another company building exhausts off factory jigs, TFL Italy creates each system from the ground up. Having the car in their R&D facility, each vehicle gets 3D scanned to design the system for the best flow and function. Once completed a prototype is built to test the most important aspect for any exhaust buyer which is the sound. The exhaust systems feature high quality TIG welds, thick CNC machined flanges, and a laser engraved VR badge. Some exhausts are available in 304 Stainless Steel or highly sought after Iconel. The VRP x TFL exhaust systems are made to work with the factory valve functions and sensors that are on the vehicle. In addition to the exhaust systems that are generally catback or mufflers, competition race pipes and headers are also available for certain models.
Have a look at the entire collection of VRP x TFL exhaust systems available here.

Super Duplex Steel Flanges are regarded as the best in the series of steel Flanges based on their characteristics and strong points. The austenitic toughened steel is offered in Very Choice with a few components like copper, zinc, and chromium. The majority of businesses use a lot of Duplex steel products since they provide high strength when they come into touch.
Tumblr media
There are many kinds of Flanges accessible, for example, Welding Neck Wall It is by and large utilized in low-temperature and high-pressure applications since they required the unhindered liquid stream conveyed by the line framework. Long welding Neck-They is equivalent to a weld neck just contrast in a lengthy welding neck the tightened center point (neck) is expanded and performs like an exhausting expansion. Slip-on Spine It is appended to the fittings or the line by two filet welds, one external the hole and the other one executed inside the rib. They are handily perceived by their minimal and thin shape.
Strung Rib This is attached by screwing the line into the spine rather than using a crease weld. They are typically used in small, low-temperature, low-stress applications like utility and water management. They are legally required in dangerous areas like petrol stations and industries. Since welding associations could be dangerous in this type of environment. Spine Attachment Weld To connect this type of rib to the lines, a single fillet weld is performed on the exterior of the rib. Joint-joint ribs This spine frequently uses an alloy with a stub end and a component with a level spacing. Dark Spine Due to the necessary catapulting forces and the structure pressure, these Flanges reduce outstanding mechanical forces.
A few other exceptional sorts of rib are Nipo rib, Weldo rib, Turn Rib, Elbo Rib, Lactro Rib, Growing spine, and Lessening Rib.

HAYNES 188 Sheets is a cobalt-nickel-chromium-tungsten alloy that may be readily fabricated for aerospace and commercial gas turbine engine applications, including combustion cans, flame holders, liners, transition ducts, and afterburner parts. HAYNES 188 Coils is generally found in hot sections of engines in burner cans, ducting and afterburner components. In recent years, Udimet 188 Coils has been eclipsed by Alloy 230 for many applications due to improved properties. Udimet 188 Plates has good forming characteristics and is capable of being forged, hot worked or cold worked, although it does work-harden very rapidly so frequent intermediate annealing treatments are recommend for complex forming operations. Buy Alloy 188 Plates at reasonable price from us.

Spec2 pipes in production
Gary Shumake sent me theses pictures recently (November 2023). These are the F1's, his best and most expensive RD pipes. Pricing in 2023 is approximately $1,000 plus shipping. Gary takes awhile to get the work done, I've been waiting close to one year.

Here are the main bodies. Note these are cones being welded together. Many of his older pipes were hydro-formed.
