5 Home Gym Essentials to Enhance Your Fitness Routine
Creating a home gym means accessing convenience, but there are several things to do. Buying the best home gym equipment Australia for cardio or strength training is inadequate. You need the right accessories!
That's why we will mention what you need to make the perfect home gym. So, let's start with the basics and help you get closer to your fitness goal.
Exercise Mat
Whether for yoga or floor exercises, a mat is comfortable for your back and knees. Look for a thick one with extra cushioning, in case there's a hard floor.
After all, the exercise mat means you have a rectangular space to work out. On top of that, you can carry the mat anywhere - from the beach to the backyard.
Dumbbell Set
Weight training is integral, so we assume that dumbbell sets are essential for your routine. You will find a variety of sizes, materials and shapes; hence, choose the heavy or light ones depending on your needs.
With the right pair, you can perform side lateral raise, dumbbell shoulder squats, dumbbell sumo squats and skull crushers.
Jump Rope
You may be in a love-hate relationship with burpees, but you cannot ignore jump ropes. A jump rope is an easy way to get your heart rate pumping. Plus, it works well on your legs, core, shoulders and arms.
If you follow a 10-minute jump rope session the right way, you will know what we are talking about.
Elbow Wraps
Elbow pain can take a toll on upper-body workouts. The elbow wraps help you perform bench presses. They come with a cushion to protect your elbows during triceps exercises.
The best part is that you can adjust the tightness according to your comfort level. So, look for this exercise equipment in Brisbane if you check out the online stores.
Fitness Ball
Whether for yoga, a rollout or ball squats, you need a fitball. You get to choose the pressure you want to put around a fitness ball.
You can take on stability challenges like plank knee trucks, bicep curls and chest presses. Mainly, it's easier to go for the core exercises.
Last-minute thoughts
You might have thought finding quality Brisbane gym equipment is difficult - but not anymore. Check out Elite Fitness and get all the gym accessories at affordable prices. Shop Today!

Do tell about those Mouthwashing headcanons of yours. I'd like to read them.
You have no idea how long i've been waiting for this [rubs my little hands together] this is going to be EXTREMELY LONG and definitely traces of my own little AU which i've dubbed thee... Afterwashing. Its a bit of everyone dies but everyone also lives. sorta. Curly doesn't end up as fucked as he is, Swansea actually manages to hit Jimmy and sliced directly into his shoulder. Swansea actually got the Cryopods working, and just before everything went to shit he was able to convince Anya to take the others into the cryopods. Still ends up dying but his sacrifice will be known forever:
Pre Crash Curly
- 35 Years old, born December 22nd. Full name is Grant Kirk Curly. Australian British.
- Absolutely a gymrat, bit over the top but he has genuinely the best intentions. He's really big on the aftercare of exercising, hydrating, massages, stretches, it's a fine art to him. A ritual, almost.
- Loves cooking but can only make an assortment of five dishes. Spaghetti, Meatloaf, Risotto, Lasagna and he makes a real mean Stir Fry. It's all very simple food, he doesn't need it to be extravagant. Food is a big love language for him, so when he was forced to go on packet diet for space travel, he cried for six hours.
- Even though he's british, he has roots from Australia. You can still kind of hear it sometimes when he uses his Captain Voice. Daisuke and Anya teased him a little about it.
- He was actually promoted against his will. Originally he was an just apart of the maintenance crew on a larger ship called Sleipnir, it was the second largest delivery freighter right behind Arion which had a crew of three hundred and eighty five people. It was an absolute marvel of machinery, built to deliver other machinery and high tech equipment. When that ship was retired, he was forced into a promotion of Captain, since no one wanted to take the Tulpar and he happened to be around at the time and couldn't bring himself to say no.
- He doesn't have a very distinct taste in music. He will just listen to whatever sounds good. When Anya and Swansea found out they immediately forced him to listen to "real" music and then soon they all made a collaborative playlist which now haunts the Tulpar.
- Curly grew up with a very large family, a middle child of sisters and brothers, he often found himself being told he was lucky to come from such a big, warm family. But the truth is, he found himself ignored alot. His older siblings were well out of school and his younger siblings were too little to stand on their own, so he rarely got any attention and he eventually moved out of home at seventeen to move in with Jimmy, who he became friends with because of their shared loneliness.
- Curly actually had a mullet once, but Swansea forced him to cut it. He said it made him look like a "Hippie" and he couldn't stop laughing. Anya says she liked it, and he regrets cutting it because of that.
- He has met Anya previously on a past delivery years ago, they used to sneak away together to smoke or to complain a little about work. Anya was an intern nurse under the head doctor, Maddie, who was very uptight and constantly cranky. When they met on the Tulpar again, that flame was reignited and it soon developed into a hallway crush that never left the hallway.
- Curly actually knew Swansea for the longest, he was one of the other head mechanics on Slepnir, and they got along really well. Curly is glad to have a familiar face on the ship (Besides Jimmy and Anya) that actually greatly impacted his life and helped him steer towards the topic of his career and his future. He never got to do what he wanted thanks to the sudden promotion, but he's grateful for his teachings nonetheless. Curly wanted to repair and build aircraft for a living, back on earth. He still dreams about it, sometimes.
- Loves Snowboarding, hates Skiing. He also really likes surfing but the hot weather doesn't agree with him.
- To me, he's bisexual but genuinely has no clue. If the circumstances are right he'll sleep with a guy and try really hard to not think too hard about it. It's embarrassing to him especially since he hasn't had much experience sexually or romantically, but he won't say no to a cute guy.
- His relationship with Jimmy has been up and down. When they were teens, Jimmy was just angry and lashed out at people. He had alot of paranoia and used it to fuel his own rage, but he always went on about how guilty he felt and how he hated being angry and how it used to tear him up inside about being exactly like his father. Their relationship was very briefly romantic and then sexual, but that ended quickly after Curly got accepted into pilot academy and started seeing Jimmy less and less. Jimmy resents him for this, Curly isn't even aware of it.
Post Crash Curly
- 39 Years old
- He was rescued from the crypod by a passing ship called Embarr, a small crew of fourty people. It was a medical emergency ship sent out to actually retrieve the dead bodies of another ship, and they happened upon ths Tulpar on a detour due to significant asteroid interference. Jimmy, Anya and Daisuke all miraculously survived, Swansea's body was never found.
- Managed to come out of it pretty unscathed with only the left side of his body being the most damage. He still needed amputations, but only on one arm.
- He was in a coma for three months as his body was slowly defrosted and pumped with all the necessary fluids. An autopsy was performed on him originally thinking he was dead. He was not. And they thankfully realized the mistake before it became life threatening and took them all back to earth to receive the best medical care possible.
- Vegetarian. After being forced to eat his own flesh, he can't stomach meat now. It's too upsetting.
- Still enjoys working out, even if its extremely limited. The moment he was allowed to do any physiotherapy or even walking again, he would push himself constantly, even if it hurt. He had subconsciously made exercise as a way to distract himself from the depression and psychological issues he had, so that being no longer an option really worn him down.
- Curly took up a permanent residence in the hospital after waking up. The doctors have urged him to go and live his life, but he struggles to understand why he would even want to. Developed a serious bout of agoraphobia that prevents him from leaving.
- As soon as he was able, he immediately told Anya and Daisuke the truth, about who crashed the ship and what had happened. Anya is still struggling to accept and understand the truth, but she's coming around slowly.
- He has denied skin grafting and facial reconstruction surgery multiple times now, mainly because he's worried about whats going to happen if he doesn't look like himself anymore or even like what he sees in the mirror. That he won't be able to recognise who he is anymore. He's slowly warming up to it, but very slowly.
- Has a guide dog named Laika, it helps him see and also helps him go outside and overcome his agoraphobia.
- He's learning how to cook again, after the crash. alot of his tastebuds were destroyed from mouthwash and starvation, so he's had to teach his body how food tastes again. He's developed a new love for custard.
- Still thinks about Anya, hopes to rekindle something with her in the future when she's ready.
Pre Crash Anya
- 34 Years old, born April 4th. Full name is Anya Musume, Czech Romanian.
- Her favourite movie is Bambi, she cries everytime it's on. Curly laughs at that but he bursts into tears while watching Brother Bear.
- She likes to knit, kind of sucks at it but she needs something therapeutic.
- She goes through alot of different hobbies and finds it difficult to stay in one place. She also has an infinite knowledge of completely useless facts she likes to bring up randomly, loves learning new things and is very hard to pry away from a good book.
- Also a gymrat, definitely not as much as Curly is but she enjoys jogging alot. Sometimes when she's getting mad cabin (ship?) fever, she will do some laps around the lounge room or hallway outside of utility. She likes to keep active and its become a way for her to think or concentrate, suffers the most from sitting still for too long. She sometimes does stretches with Curly, and he helps her find new ways to exercise or keep active in such a small place.
- Her favourite food of all time is cheeseburgers. Its her number one guilty pleasure and absolutely orders those ridiculously huge ones with seven different layers of fillings. She has a huge appetite and it lowkey scares people simply because of how much she eats in one sitting. She also enjoys a really good french onion soup from time to time, but the onions make her cry uncontrollably.
- Actually wanted to be a paediatrician once. After being denied a consecutive six times, she decided to just do whatever she would qualify to. Became a little depressed with it all, but still applied a two more times just in case. Shortly after being denied an eighth time, Pony Express approached her and it all went from there.
- Bisexual and knows it, probably has something funky going on with all that gender stuff too but she doesn't care too much. Has absolutely slept with girls before, liked it alot. Her first time was with a butch lesbian on the back of her car. She is very confident sexually and physically, she just enjoys wearing sweaters and jackets.
- Doesn't have a very big family. Her parents are divorced and she was forced to raise herself and her little sister. When her little sister turned 18, she got married immediately and left home to be a housewife. This put Anya in a bit of a spin and made her dive into some questionable relationships with some very lazy people.
- She also had a huge crush on Curly, but she would just bury herself in work to avoid thinking about it. She tried to somehow mix the two and get him to open up and try to get him to relax around her, but it never worked. He was always weirdly tense and rigid, despite being happy and smiling, there was something very deep beneath the surface.
Post Crash Anya
- 38 Years old
- Sort of gave up on her dream to be a nurse. She would absolutely love to, but her mental health has declined too drastically to study or even apply again and she has no money to even continue studying. Right now she's working as a librarian, she enjoys the quiet.
- Being put inside the cryopod basically froze her unborn baby, you're not supposed to operate the pods if you're pregnant and because of that she miscarried. She has alot of very mixed thoughts about it all, but is glad nonetheless. Would love to have children of her own someday.
- Still yearns for Curly, doesn't know how to move on, she's not even sure if she wants to move on.
- Her suicidal tendencies are still very present, and she can no longer be trusted around medication. She has to go to the hospital to take it and says hello to Curly everytime she does.
- Sometimes has sleepovers with Daisuke or Curly just to have someone nearby. She misses the constant, constant noise of the ship, and she knows they do as well. Its hard adjusting to silence.
- Wears her glasses more often now, never realized how badly she needed them until now.
- Has alot of self harm tendencies, scratches and peels at her skin as a nervous tic.
- Has a pet cat named Rosa, its a therapy animal to help her relax and calm down, she has really bad OCD and constantly triple checks everything is locked, turned off or on. She gets really ahead of herself and it can be exhausting.
- Still watches movies, brings over brother bear and has a real good cry with Curly sometimes. She's developed a passion for romance movies, it fills a little part of her soul each time. Her favourite is The Notebook. Definitely into some real cheesy stuff but it makes her happy.
Pre Crash Jimmy
- 37 Years old, born January 18th. Full name is James "Jimmy" Zare. American Australian.
- He's a chronic self harmer, littered in burns, cuts, bruises and scars. If smoking or alcohol doesn't take the edge off, he has a tendency to mutilate himself or he drifts endlessly. Before joining PE, he used to dissociate alot and it would never end well. After joining PE he got put on some serious stabilisers and anti-psychotics it switched his hazy, passively suicidal behaviour for a very angry and bitter one. Curly isn't sure if it was for the best.
- He didn't come from the greatest family. His parents were devout Christians. He had two younger sisters, and his mother was pregnant with another. After miscarrying, his parents got divorced because his father believed it was a sign of infidelity or shame, and his mother basically turned into a husk. Unable to speak, unable to take care of herself, completely and utterly empty. So with the added stress of his father dissapearing and then also having to raise himself and his sisters, he's developed a very nasty opinion of women and believes them to be weak and a nuisance. Jimmy was always extremely jealous of Curly's family, and never believed him wheb he said it was also really hard growing up.
- He wanted to be an engineer growing up. He actually bonded with Curly over their shared interests in machinery, and soon it branched from there. They met in highschool but got separated when Curly moved. Years later in a drunken stupor, he found himself miraculously at the doorstep of Curly's new life, and ever since then he's never been able to get rid of Curly.
- Jimmy's favourite animal is Hyena
- Has multiple tattoos that are equally trashy as they are shitty, he almost convinced Curly to get a matching one. Plenty of piercings have been ripped out of his body.
- Jimmy only got into weightlifting because Curly said he would pay for his membership. Jimmy isn't as strong as Curly is, its more the adrenaline that kicks in that keeps him ontop.
- Cut his hair to mimic Curly's but it lacks any real volume so it doesn't look like it.
- Closeted homosexual, open homophobe to himself. Alot of his feelings towards Curly are sexual in a way, but because of his upbringing and relationship examples he thinks this is normal and indulges in them quite often. Would never admit it.
Post Crash Jimmy
- 41 Years old
- Got sentenced to life in prison shortly after Curly regained his ability to speak coherently. Even though alot of the details for the legal case were skewered, Anya and Daisuke both showed up with their own cases to prove Curly's argument and they won.
- Before heading to jail, Jimmy actually got arrested three different times for breaking and entering. He was found trying to steal from his old place, which had new tenants and didn't even have his stuff anymore.
- When he killed himself, he managed to just barely miss all of his very important brain functions. He needs a cane to walk but refuses to use one so he limps a bit. He also has seizures and his schizophrenia has gotten significantly worse. He has a large scar on the side of his face now.
- No longer cuts his hair. It's grown past his shoulders now.
- Curly was able to finally sever ties and no longer speaks to Jimmy. He actually has an automated monthly card come in for Jimmy specifically because he knows it pisses him off. Jimmy's youngest sister visits sometimes.
- Goes by just "James" now.
- Sobered up against his will, got put on new medication that no longer makes him as angry, he's just bitter and cold.
- The blow from Swansea into his shoulder was brutal and it almost completely destroyed his arm, he's been learning how to use it again but struggles to commit.
Pre Crash Daisuke
- 25 Years old, born June 5th. Full name is Junpei Daisuke, Filipino Japanese.
- A bit of a perv but an extremely respectable way. He won't harass girls or make them uncomfortable but if you give him verbal consent that he's allowed to stare he isn't gonna hold back.
- Massive mama's boy. Never wants to admit it because he thinks others will tease him for it.
- He actually really dislikes chocolate, and prefers his sugary treats to be that of candy or gummies. Chocolate makes him sick too quickly. He has a bit of a sensitive stomach to coco.
- Has a belly button piercing, he says he was dared to do it but thats not true. He also has a tattoo that he cannot show anyone. (Its a trampstamp)
- Actually had a huge massive crush on Curly when he first met him. It was really embarrassing, but it mostly comes from jealousy. Curly is so much bigger abd stronger and Daisuke hopes to be like that one day. Extremely sexy and handsome.
- His favourite board game is monopoly because Anya always wins that one. He likes seeing her happy.
- Wanted to be an artist but after hearing about his parents financial troubles he gave up and decided to settle for a blue collar job thar had decent pay. Even though it was his idea, she had to push him to take the job.
- Got expelled from college, half way through he got really depressed and burnt out and kept on skipping classes and not putting any effort in. He also got fired from hos part time job and was forced to move back in with his parents.
- He's an only child and his parents absolutely love each other but there some strain and Daisuke can see it clearly, and it seriously depresses him but he tries to not let it get to his head.
- Pansexual, absolutely is trans in some way but he has a job so he dgaf rn.
- When he first arrived on the Tulpar, he noticed just how utterly depressing it was. So he decided to be the exact opposite of that, putting on a brave smile and attitude to ease himself into the crew. He gets along with Anya and Curly the most.
- Has two cats back at home. Pepper and Donatello, named after his favourite TMNT character.
- He's also a bit of a gym freak but he has no idea what he's doing, very new to real equipment found in gyms as he would always just use whatever was closest or available to him. Curly is teaching him proper techniques.
- Major insomniac but doesn't tell anybody this. Anya has to (metaphorically) choke it out of him so she can help, and he's been slowly adjusting to the medication.
- Has a bunch of really bad habits, drinking especially.
Post Crash Daisuke
- 29 Years old
- He's not allowed to leave the house anymore without running it by his mom. Ever since he returned from the Tulpar she's been dreading the worst happening again, keeps him on a really tight leash out of fear.
- Donatello passed away while he was in space, so in his grieving he got another cat and named it Biggie.
- His parents got divorced finally, the news of what happened had drove his father to the edge and it became too stressful. Daisuke doesn't resent him, and they keep in contact.
- Finally decided to let himself pursue art, Anya is his biggest supporter and she buys all of his paintings. He loves drawing animals the most, finds their complexities to be beautiful.
- let his haie grow out longer, often puts it in a ponytail now.
- He doesn't know what Swansea's sacrifice was, he only knows that somehow he ended up in the Cryopod and that his body was nowhere to be found. and nobody else knows what happened. He misses him a ton, so he paints swans alot. Sometimes Swansea's wife, Meredith, buys them, she comes around to talk to Daisuke and make sure he's doing well.
- He has a part time job now as a dog walker. He walks Swansea's dog almost every day now.
- Also a vegetarian, he's actually why Curly decided to become one. They still work out together but now its mostly him teaching Curly new things.
- Still really depressed and aimless, but he's been put on real medication to help him cope and he's doing much better.
Pre Crash Swansea
- 56 Years old, Born August 10th. Full name is Swansea Manning Heartford, Welsh.
- He actually doesn't like sweets all that much, but its much better than his other options. Coffee makes him sick as well, so sugar is his only vice.
- Has four kids, they're well into their adult years now. Swansea used to be able to call them when they were closer to earth, but that eventually stopped. He also has a brother, but they haven't talked in decades.
- A similar situation as Curly, Swansea got promoted to head engineer of the Tulpar because no one else would take it and he just so happened to be around. He was actually planning on retiring early.
- His wife used to always exclaim how jealous she was of him, to see the stars and everything beyond sounds like a dream. He didn't have the heart to tell her it sucks.
- Daisuke reminded him of not only his kids, but himself in a way. Back when he was younger and didn't have much of a care.
- Cannot punish his kids for the life of him, he's always been too soft and could never bring himself to actually be hard on them. He would get angry again them but then immediately do something to make it up to them because he felt guilty. He started to do this subconsciously with Daisuke and didn't notice until Curly pointed it out.
- Also a really big foodie, sort of cried a little with Curly when they were told about the strict food packet diet. Promises when this shipment is over he'll make the biggest gumbo ever and invite everyone around for it.
- Needs glasses but refuses to wear them.
- Gets along pretty well with Anya, they're not best friends but she's definitely more tolerable than Daisuke is. Neither of them talk that much so they both understand how good silence is, sometimes he'll let her complain and rant about absolutely nothing (Although it usually about Jimmy) because he understands how frustrating it can be. He doesn't provide her with anything or gives pep talks, he just lets her complain in circles.
- Girl dad, he has only daughters so to finally have a son in a way has been a new experience. He struggles to admit it but he is proud of Daisuke, he's just never been very open about his feelings or emotions, especially in his older age
- On the brink of a midlife crisis. Wanted to go mountain climbing.
- Probably gay, bisexual? he doesn't know. Doesn't care. College was weird.
- When it finally came down to it, Swansea was able to just barely convince Anya to go into the cryopods. After finding out what Jimmy had done he decided to put his foot down, his gut was telling him something bad was about to happen, and being able to barge the door to medical down his fears were proven. Right before she was about to OD, he convinced her to take Curly and Daisuke to utility and that it would all be taken care of.
- He was able to really hurt Jimmy, but unfortunately his old age and slight inebriation caught up and he failed to overpower him. Being shot in the eye and then the head, Jimmy thought he was dead. But after being rescued, Swansea's body was never found. Theres multiple theories by others of what happened, but nobody knows the truth.

Agile Combat Employment and Response to North Korean Nuclear Strike Among Ulchi Freedom Shield 24 Exercise’s Highlights
Ulchi Freedom Shield 24 will see the participation of 200 aircraft, including South Korean F-15Ks, FA-50s, and KF-16s and US F-16s and A-10s, which are expected to fly more than 2,000 sorties around the clock.

This year’s edition of the joint South Korea and the U.S annual Ulchi Freedom Shield exercise, which kicked off on Aug. 19, 2024 has a lot of firsts. Among the most notable is the rehearsal, for the first time, of the response to a North Korean nuclear strike against South Korea.
An interesting feature is the practice of ACE (Agile Combat Employment) operations by the 8th and 51st Fighter Wings of the U.S. Air Force as well as the ROKAF (Republic of Korea Air Force) units. South Korean reports also said the air combat component will see what has been defined as the largest ever number of sorties planned, reportedly 2,000, around the clock.
More than 200 South Korean and US aircraft will participate. The US’ 8th Fighter Wing based at Kunsan Air Base and 51st FW at Osan Air Base announced their integration into the exercise, saying they incorporated the recurring wing readiness exercises into Ulchi Freedom Shield 24. The ROKAF will reportedly participate with the 11th, 16th and 20th Fighter Wings, which are equipped with F-15K, FA-50 and KF-16 jets.
Other goals include countering North Korea’s missile and cyber threats in 40 different kinds of field exercises, which will last until Aug. 29. The drills will also include unspecified computerized simulations components.
The Chosun Daily mentioned that “this year’s drill, for the first time, includes government response training for a hypothetical North Korean nuclear attack.” The report further added that “the primary focus of this year’s exercise is to master specific response measures in the event of a North Korean nuclear strike.”

The ROK and the U.S. Air Forces will undertake “120 hours of continuous day and night sorties for 5 days” for multi-domain missions, according to an automated translation of a video released by Yu Yungwon TV. The aircraft will practice both Defensive Counter Air missions, as well as air interdiction, with virtually simulated targets including cruise missiles and high-speed aircraft.
About 19,000 South Korean military personnel will participate in the drills, which will be held alongside civil defense and evacuation drills. The exercise will “reflect realistic threats across all domains,” South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff was quoted by DW.
The U.S. stations around 28,500 troops in the ROK. The UFS 24 exercise also comes after US and Allies, including the ROK, Japan and Australia, wrapped up the annual Pacific Dragon 24 exercises, which also saw the firing of the ship-launched Standard Missile-series.
8th Fighter Wing
Saying that it has begun integrating into the UFS 24, the 8th FW, also known as the “Wolf Pack” and equipped with the F-16CM Block 40, mentioned it will conduct local flying and ACE (Agile Combat Employment) operations at forward locations to increase interoperability with mission partners in realistic combat scenarios. “These scenarios directly support the exercise’s focus on conducting multi-domain operations leveraging component assets, emphasizing countering weapons of mass destruction,” added the press release.
“It is imperative to link the Wolf Pack with the operational level of command,” said the 8th FW commander, Col. Peter Kasarkis. “These connections do not happen automatically and must be rehearsed. Exercises such as Ulchi Freedom Shield provide the sandbox to allow us to continuously improve.”
Additionally, the Wolf Pack is “testing its wing’s readiness, including its ability to support follow-on forces and defend the base against regional threats.” The commander further added that “participation in these exercises builds a more combat-ready force, better able to meet any challenge in the Indo-Pacific region.”
The 8th FW had also publicized its ACE practices during the Beverly Pack 24-1 held between May 7-9, 2024, which saw “67 airmen deployed to Gwangju Air Base” to “operate in unfamiliar locations at a moment’s notice.” The press release added that “the exercise challenged the wing’s retrieval, refueling, and aircraft launch capabilities while advancing Airmen’s knowledge and skills to effectively generate airpower across the Indo-Pacific region.”
ACE essentially means operating out of austere locations, airfields with minimal supporting and technical infrastructure in order to spread out from the larger bases that are likely to come under a sudden adversary missile barrage. An extension of ACE is Dynamic Force Employment where bombers or fighters quick movement of forces, and the ability to operate soon after reaching the deployed location and perform their mission.

51st Fighter Wing
The 51st FW at Osan Air Base, meanwhile, is incorporating its recurring wing readiness exercise into UFS 24 for the first time in recent history. Similarly to the 8th FW, the 51st FW will also conduct local flying and ACE operations to not only enhance local wing readiness, but also reinforce U.S. Seventh Air Force and U.S. Forces Korea’s command-and-control training efforts.
The Wing, Seventh Air Force and the U.S. Forces Korea will “engage in contingency response exercises, training on mobilization and force deployment capabilities while simultaneously rehearsing the protection and sustainment of base operations,” said the press release. But the highlight would be aircraft and personnel mobilizing and operating out of a co-operating base location in the Republic of Korea, further enhancing the wing’s ability to execute the mission in an unfamiliar environment at a moment’s notice.”

Korean Reports
Yu Yongwon TV meanwhile released footage of ROKAF F-15Ks, FA-50s and KF-16s being serviced by ground crew and taking off during day and night-time sorties. The video said the ROKAF and the U.S.A.F will fly “120 hours of continuous day and night sorties for 5 days, strengthening wartime operational capabilities,” with a total of “2,000 sorties, the largest ever.” Interestingly, there were no mention of the ROKAF F-35’s participation.
The 200 aircraft participating include F-15Ks, FA-50s, and KF-16s of the 11th, 16th, and 20th Fighter Wings of the ROK Air Force, the F-16s and A-10s of the 51st Fighter Wing and the F-16s of the 8th FW of the U.S. Air Force. “This is the first time that multiple ROK and US Air Force squadrons have simultaneously conducted 24-hour live flight training for multi-domain missions,” said the reports.
Missions like Defensive Counter Air (DCA), Air Interdiction (AI) and Airborne Alert Interdiction (X-INT) are mentioned among the missions that will be conducted to ensure the absence of gaps in the air defense posture during the day and night. “This training is characterized by maximizing response capabilities. If an aircraft conducting defensive counter air training receives an order similar to a real situation, it will immediately switch to combat surveillance and perform it,” said the report.
This suggests the retasking during the flights, where fighters switch from one type of mission to another. “Virtual enemy formation will be deployed to simulate high-speed aircraft infiltration and cruise missile launches,” said the report, further adding that the training for “air units to support air operations” would involve “mass ammunition assembly, maximum armament loadout, and emergency return and re-departure.”

Sunday 20th October 2024
Sunday, a day of rest, we had the usual exercise, then after breakfast it was to assume a prone position by the hotel swimming pool. The sensible Australians arranged themselves under whatever cover or shade that could easily be acquired, merely the glint of their Ray Bans giving their location away. Meanwhile, anyone with a Made in England tag is 6 foot out on a sunbed benefitting from the mid morning sun head to foot, smothered in factor 50 whilst remarking how hot it is today. Martine pursued aqua cooling by way of breaststroke and front crawl, whilst I looked on amazed that she didn't actually sink as I know I would. Had I joined her, an international rescue operation of epic proportions would have been invoked with all manner of lifesaving equipment deployed. Better off remaining on the sunbed I felt. Swimming never was something I found coming naturally to me. Mind you, I don't think I have ever come across a more uncomfortable sunbed. It was the sort of device maybe designed in the middle ages as respite between turns on the rack.
Now, even whilst in a dazed state being conveyed here from the airport in our Uber, the driver found it necessary to express condolences that we had pretty much missed the opportunity of a lifetime to visit their local market. He brightened when he found out we would be here on Sunday and confidentially informed us that we were in luck because they repeated the whole thing today! Our cup clearly ranneth over and after researching the whole thing in a professional way discovered a number 4 bus would take us there in time for a 4 o'clock kick off. After all, this is billed as an event in the Darwinian calendar that really should not be missed!
The bus turned up on time at the terminus and a smaller than expected crowd got on considering this was such a big event in the calendar. Alighting at the field the market is held in, the waft of food was all pervasive and from all cultures, Chinese, Thai, Shri-lanka, Greek, Indian, Italian and the list goes on. We were not hungry when we arrived, but pretty soon the olfactory senses persuaded us that maybe there was room for a little morsel of something, and we had been strongly advised to try Darwin Laksa; a soup and noodle concoction with different meats and seafood with a SE Asia origin. We opted for the option, 'the lot'. Something there for everyone. We took our little bowl over to a table area where a local band called Dad's Band was setting up. Repertoire, Blues. They kicked off at 5pm and were quite OK. Various acts were set to follow such as the Darwin kids dance groups followed by more music. It was a very jolly evening but we needed to leave early because the last bus was to go by 7.30pm. It was quite nice to see indigenous folk there, either taking part in some way, or participating with their little sticks that they kind of drum with. I'm not sure I like it especially when they point their little stick at you. The area the market is held is a rather sensitive site for the Larrakia peoples, the Mindil Beach, since inadvertently during some building work, they managed to JCB up a pile of Aborigine type bones! Ancestor warning bells, down tools and build a nice new memorial instead! Phew I think we got away with that one.
Number 4 turned up on queue and off we went back to Darwin sharing the experience with a large group of Aborigines who were quite loud, very tribal and speaking their own language. (no spears) Before being made an honorary member of the tribe we alighted and checked into the 4 Pines Pub again for the end of Happy Hour, and a Croc Pale Ale.
Now Darwin is definitely not representative of Australia as a whole. It is something of a microcosm with a very strange cocktail of people. For instance a fairly normal looking pub across the road from 4 Pines had a music night on the go. Little folk singer with acoustic guitar playing nice little folky type songs. Then 3 metres away from him is the town nutter desperately trying to dance to a folk set which was extremely distracting and if the guitarist hadn't kept his dignity, the dancer could quite easily have found the lost chord over his hippy type head. It has to be said, charmingly, there are some odd people here and I wouldn't rule out there being some with 6 fingers but we still very much like the place and we feel very privileged to have spent some time in this very diverse but young place.

My entry: "A Dream: The Digital Siege of Australia's Journey into a Digital Prison Island: From Freedom to Fear." - Aressida. 23.5.24.
I looked up and was greeted by digital billboards scattered across the old outer city wall, flashing with an array of propaganda news and bad information. Among them, I noticed the captivating bounty lists of dissenters. I chuckled when I saw my own name there, curiosity taking over.
"Government of Australian Digital ID System - Dissenter Description: Subject: Aressida Fox. Description: Aressida, a known dissenter and member of the resistance movement, is being actively pursued by the Australian Government. Marked as a criminal - Accused of sedition, cyberterrorism and not paying fines. Background: Aressida's profound involvement in the resistance movement is rooted in her unwavering belief in safeguarding individual liberties and challenging the oppressive grip of government control. Public Notice: WARNING: The Australian Government has marked Aressida as a criminal for her involvement in the resistance movement. With her exceptional ability to ghost around undetected, caution must be exercised when approaching her. Exercise caution and report any sightings or information regarding Aressida's whereabouts. Approach with discretion and prioritize personal safety at all times."
I did not feel too conflicted about seeing my name on the bounty list, my participation in the resistance movement, my steadfast commitment to defending individual liberties, and my challenge to governmental power have made me a target. I understand that their portrayal of me as a threat to society is inaccurate, since I am actually a lawfully protesting digital soldier against oppressive restrictions.
I want everyone to know that although though we, the Digital Soldiers, may be perceived as a threat, we consider ourselves to be defenders of the truth and of a society that is free.
The fire of rebellion, the strength of unification, and the power of knowledge are all burning within us. We call for transparency, stage public demonstrations, and enlist the support of our fellow citizens in our struggle for a brighter future. We are going to take back our country from this virtual jailhouse together. But the road to change is filled with peril and death. The government is working harder to apprehend me and put an end to our voices. They have already declared us to be enemies of the state for years, they will not give up easily.
History's scars serve as a reminder of the dangers of unchecked authority, right?
I steadfastly make my way towards the city walls before nightfall.
Before I could meet the other resistance teams, I blend in, a vast symphony of unhappiness is emitted by the multitude of people gathered in the central plaza of the burning city. I knew it had to express their anxieties and urge them to take action, to speak out against the government's overreach. Signs, posters, and banners with the slogans "Down with the Digital ID System", “In the end we said no!” and “Give me liberty, or give me death!" are waving in the wind there, inspiring optimism among the dejected masses.
When tear gas is released, arrests happen often, and riot police are sent in. The government uses intimidation and physical force to suppress dissent and hold power. With their cutting-edge monitoring equipment and unrelenting drones, it’s annoying.
“And remember, the power of the people cannot be silenced. We are still strong and resilient in our pursuit of justice and freedom. Stay united, stay peaceful, and continue to make your voices heard. This is Aressida, standing with you in this city. Let’s move. Over and out.”
To Be Continued…

Swimming Pool Inspections Wollongong To Ensure Safety
Swimming pools are a source of relaxation, exercise, and enjoyment for many residents of Wollongong, a coastal city in New South Wales, Australia. However, ensuring the safety of these pools is paramount to prevent accidents and injuries. Regular inspections play a crucial role in identifying potential hazards and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. In this article, we delve into the importance of swimming pool inspections in Wollongong and how they contribute to safeguarding the community's well-being.
The Importance of Swimming Pool Inspections
Swimming pool inspections serve as a proactive measure to identify and mitigate safety risks associated with pool facilities. These inspections are essential not only for public pools but also for private residential pools to ensure compliance with local regulations and standards. By conducting thorough inspections, authorities can address potential hazards such as faulty equipment, inadequate fencing, or poor water quality before they pose a threat to swimmers.
Ensuring Compliance with Regulations:
In Wollongong, swimming pool inspections are conducted in accordance with state and local regulations, including the Swimming Pools Act 1992 and the Swimming Pools Regulation 2018. These regulations outline specific requirements for pool safety barriers, water quality, signage, and supervision to minimize the risk of drowning and other accidents. Regular inspections help pool owners and operators ensure compliance with these regulations, thereby promoting a safer environment for swimmers of all ages.
Identifying Safety Hazards:
During a swimming pool inspection, trained inspectors assess various aspects of the pool facility to identify potential safety hazards. This includes evaluating the condition of pool fencing and gates to ensure they are secure and meet height and design requirements. Inspectors also check for the presence of safety features such as CPR signage, rescue equipment, and compliant pool covers. Additionally, water quality tests may be conducted to assess chemical levels and clarity, ensuring a safe and sanitary swimming environment.
Preventing Drowning Incidents:
Drowning is a leading cause of accidental death worldwide, especially among young children. In Australia, swimming pool drowning incidents remain a significant concern, highlighting the importance of proactive safety measures. By conducting regular inspections and addressing potential hazards promptly, authorities can help prevent drowning incidents and promote water safety awareness within the community. Proper fencing, supervision, and adherence to safety guidelines are key strategies in reducing the risk of drowning in swimming pools.
Educating Pool Owners and Operators:
Swimming pool inspections not only focus on identifying safety hazards but also serve as an opportunity to educate pool owners and operators about their responsibilities regarding pool safety. Inspectors provide guidance on maintenance practices, equipment upkeep, and emergency procedures to ensure that pool facilities are operated safely and responsibly. By promoting awareness and accountability, inspections contribute to a culture of safety among pool owners and operators in Wollongong.
Encouraging Community Engagement:
Swimming pool safety is a collective responsibility that involves collaboration between pool owners, operators, inspectors, and the wider community. Regular inspections help foster community engagement by raising awareness of safety standards and encouraging stakeholders to prioritize pool safety. By working together to address safety concerns and implement best practices, residents of Wollongong can create a safer environment for everyone to enjoy swimming and recreational activities.
Conclusion
Swimming pool inspections in Wollongong are an essential component of efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of residents and visitors. By conducting thorough inspections, identifying safety hazards, and promoting compliance with regulations, authorities can mitigate risks and prevent accidents in pool facilities. Pool owners and operators play a crucial role in maintaining safe swimming environments, and regular inspections help reinforce their commitment to safety standards. Ultimately, swimming pool inspections contribute to creating a safer community where individuals can enjoy swimming and aquatic activities with confidence and peace of mind.

“We must trust to nothing but facts: these are presented to us by nature and cannot deceive. We ought, in every instance, to submit our reasoning to the test of experiment, and never to search for truth but by the natural road of experiment and observation” (Antoine Lavoisier, 1743-94).
“Nothing is too wonderful to be true, if it be consistent with the laws of nature” (Michael Faraday, 1791-1867).
Evidence-based medicine was defined in an influential paper in the British Medical Journal 1996 as “The conscientious, explicit, and judicious use of current best evidence in making decisions about the care of individual patients.” It seems surprising that it even needed defining. How could sensible medicine not be evidence-based? The authors consider, and reject, the mutually contradictory arguments that, on the one hand, “All doctors do it anyway” and, on the other hand “It’s a dangerous innovation perpetrated to suppress the freedom of doctors to exercise their clinical judgement.” I want to generalise the arguments and advocate what I am calling Evidence-based Life.
Every moment of our lives we are faced with decisions. What shall I do next? What do I believe? To help us decide what to do next, we can draw upon copious evidence: the evidence of our senses, evidence from books, from conversations, newspapers, the Internet. We have the evidence from past experience (What happened when I previously was in this situation and did so-and-so?). We have evidence from a kind of future, as we simulate possible futures in imagination (I can see myself doing so-and-so and I can imagine the consequences). We can take advice from friends or mentors, books or traditional wisdom – and that can be seen as vicarious borrowing of other people’s past experience and simulated futures.
Much the same can be said of what we believe. I believe the world is round because I’ve flown to Australia via Asia and returned via America. I believe it because I’ve seen photographs from space. I believe it because of books I’ve read, lessons at school from teachers who seemed to know what they were talking about, and so on. I believe it because physics books tell me of a principle whereby large bodies tend to become spherical under the influence of gravity. A very great deal of what we know, even that which really is based on sound scientific evidence, we have to take on trust, because we haven’t the time or the ability to examine it in detail.
Even expert scientists haven’t the time or the expertise to evaluate sciences other than their own. Most biologists are ill-equipped to understand modern physics. And vice versa although, I have to admit, to a lesser extent. In any case, nobody has the time to do full justice to all the detailed research papers in a journal such as Nature or Science, even if we could understand them. If we read a report that gravitational waves have been reliably detected as emanating from a collision between two distant galaxies, most of us take it on trust. It almost sounds like taking it on faith. But it’s a faith that’s more securely grounded than, say, religious faith. That’s an understatement. When biologists like me express “faith” in the findings of physics, we know that physicists’ predictions have been verified by experimental measurements to find accuracy. Very different from “faith” in, for example, the doctrine of transubstantiation which makes no predictions at all, let alone testable and tested ones.
Nevertheless, scientific evidence is not always reliable. With the best will in the world, scientists can deceive themselves. Medical science has adopted the Double Blind Control Experiment, an admirable device for eliminating all possibility of subjective bias. Long ago, my then wife Marian (now a Fellow of the Royal Society) and I used it for fun in a trivial demonstration experiment. We wanted to know who made the best razor blades for shaving, Gillette or Wilkinson. Our quality criterion was how long a blade would last before I found it uncomfortable to shave and discarded it. Obviously that was a subjective judgement. It was important that I should not be allowed to know which make of blade I was using to shave. So Marian was solely responsible for putting a new blade into my razor, every time I pronounced the previous one worn out. If she had alternated the blades, Gillette, Wilkinson, Gillette, Wilkinson etc, that could have given me a clue. So she chose the blades according to a previously written-down random sequence, which I was not allowed to see. After a previously written-down number of blade-changes (I can’t remember what that number was but it had to be pre-determined), we looked at the data, consisting of a series of durations measured in days before each blade wore out. We analysed the data statistically and concluded that Wilkinson blades were significantly superior.
This was technically a Single-blind experiment. There remained the possibility that Marian could have inadvertently influenced my decision on when to declare a blade exhausted – the so-called Clever Hans Effect. A German horse called Clever Hans was apparently able to do simple arithmetic, tapping his hoof five times, say, when asked “What is two plus three?” It was eventually revealed that his trainer was unconsciously giving him cues, subtly changing his body language when Hans’s hoof taps reached the right number. Ideally our experiment should have been not Single Blind but Double Blind: the person inserting the blades into the razor should have been ignorant as to which was which – a little harder to arrange, though not impossible. Somebody else, neither Marian nor I, would have prepared a randomised sequence of blades, then Marian should have dispensed them when I pronounced the previous one spent. Clinical trials of new medicines nowadays usually follow the Double Blind design: the patients, the doctors or nurses administering the doses, and the experimenters judging the medicine’s effectiveness, and are kept in strict ignorance as to which patients get the drug, which they control. Without the strictures of the Double Blind design, there is always the danger of subjective judgement creeping in.
Blind control trials constitute only one weapon in science’s armoury against being misled by subjective judgement. Experiments are repeated. Scientific papers are rigorously refereed before publication and exposed to critical scrutiny afterwards. Experiment itself is the only ultimate safeguard against the notorious “correlation doesn’t have to imply causation” truism. Correlation really does imply causation if the putative cause happens when an experimenter makes it happen, rather than waiting for it to happen spontaneously. Of course, the experimenter must make it happen on a large number of independent occasions, and at random rather than in a regular pattern such as might introduce a spurious correlation. Finally, the correlation must be unlikely to have arisen by chance – unlikely according to some agreed criterion such as, “If we repeated the whole experiment a thousand times, we’d expect only one of those repeats to yield a result as extreme as this by chance.” That’s what tests of statistical significance are for.
In advocating evidence-based life, I don’t of course mean we should do double-blind, statistically-analysed experiments before making a decision, or before believing anything. Life’s too short, and there are many other reasons why it would be impractical. But it is worth imbibing the spirit of evidence-based medicine by being deliberately aware of possible sources of bias. Have I looked even-handedly at the available evidence or did I under-value or even ignore evidence that contradicted my prior beliefs? Or evidence that might have contradicted the beliefs of my tribe (religion, political party, favourite opinion-leader etc)? Do I read only the Guardian and ignore the Telegraph? Or vice versa. Do I watch only Fox News and ignore CNN? Do I tune out when exposed to news, or views, that contradict my prior prejudices? Are my views on climate change (vaccination, Covid-protection masks) based on the best available evidence, or are they coloured by political or religious prejudice, or tribal loyalties of some kind?
Evidence-based Life could justify a whole book, not just a brief essay such as this. So let me just mention some of the more insidious and alluring alternatives which might tempt us away from evidence. I’ll list them in the form of headings to which I might return in future postings.
It’s how I feel. It may not be true for you but it’s true for me. Alternative “ways of knowing” are just as valid as science, which is just the mythology of a white male tribe. I don’t need science, I’ve got my Holy Book. I don’t need science, commonsense is good enough for me. The evidence of my biology clearly indicates that I am male, but I feel I am a woman therefore I am a woman.

Adventuresses We Love – Sarah Marquis Many of us like to walk or hike, be it for exercise or just for fun. Adventuress Sarah Marquis, though, takes it one step beyond.
In 2010, Marquis set out for a walk like no other. She began her trek in Siberia then headed south, pulling a cart with her clothes, equipment and supplies behind her. She’d battle sandstorms, mudslides, and extreme weather along the way, and that wasn’t all.
One night, camping in the Gobi Desert, she found her tent surrounded by howling wolves. The experience left her feeling a “sense of belonging to the planet.” This was in addition to the regular visits by drunken Mongolian horsemen.
In the southern Gobi, Marquis was forced to leave the trail to seek treatment for a periodontal infection. Once that was cleared up, she returned to the exact spot she’d left off, and continued on.
Crossing into China presented its own challenges. Here, Marquis traveled disguised as a man, because “…any woman alone is considered a prostitute.”
In Laos, her life was threatened both by dengue fever, and by gun-wielding drug lords who attacked her camp. She survived both. Finally, she arrived at the coast of Thailand. Here, she caught a ride on a cargo vessel and made her way to Australia.
Where she started walking again.
She would cross the breadth of Australia. After 1,000 days, 10,000 miles, and 3,000 cups of tea, this journey would end under a specific tree she’d picked out 10 years earlier. For this feat, she was named the 2014 National Geographic Explorer of the Year.
As amazing as this journey was, it’s only one of Marquis’ many adventures – and she’s still adventuring today. To learn more, visit https://www.sarahmarquis.com/

Cinematography Class - Exercise 1 - A Sense of Home
Am I Really Home Again?
Over the years I’ve lived in Australia, Germany and Brazil for different periods of time, but Scotland has always been a place to come back to. This is the place where I grew up. It is the place I have always called home. It is the place where I was born, but I don’t have any Scottish heritage. My parents are German and Brazilian. If you are born and grow up in a country where you are not originally from it gives you a different sense of belonging and idenitity. Because you belong to all of the cultures that you have grown up with, but at the same time you don’t belong to any of them. It can be lonely when you are unable to find comfort in a single one of them. But when you do it is very special. This sense of feelling at home and a stranger in my country and my identity is something I have always been aware of. It is always on my mind.
Home is a very emotional concept. For a long time I’ve said home is not the place but the people. Last semster I went to study abroad in Canada and since then I’ve come back to my definition of the word. Home is not a place or the people, there are always great people wherever you go. For me home is a personal feeling of comfort and belonging. I have also come to the conclusion that home can also be a lonely ‘metaphorical place’ or even state of mind and this like everything else is always subject to change. It is not something that you always share with other people, often it is something that you have to create or build on your own. Saying this right now feels dramatic as I have moved back into my family home for the time being while I wait for the flat Eva and I have lined up to hopefully move into soon. You would think this is home and that living in my parents flat, a place I have always called home my whole life would be my home still. But I don’t know that this is the case for me anymore. I adore my parents and they are wonderful to be around, but I don’t want to live in this flat anymore, that part of my life feels like its been done. I don’t feel that this is my home, it will always be a base to come back to, but the meaning of this place has changed for me. I found this so interesting as initially when I heard the brief to take photos/footage that demonstrate a sense of home, I thought I would revert to older thoughts and take photos of this space. I didnt take a single photo in the house because it just didn’t feel right.
This weekend I brought some of my close friends to my favourite beach for the first time, its called Tyninghame. I’ve been going there with my family since I can remember and its always been my favourite place. Whenever I go there I feel at ease and inspired. The ocean calms me, bodies of water ground me. For me I feel at home when I’m there in the nature. I feel like I belong. The photos I took were an exploration of me and my friends in this space where I feel at home. Here they are in greater detail:
Article from ASC:
Total Immersion for Avatar: The Way of Water
I chose this article because I am obsessed with water and I am keen to specialise in water cinematography for film. I know that is very specific, but it is something I have wanted to do since making Bodies of Water last year. As I said before water is a happy safe space for me and I feel it would be great to work in a place that offers me this kind of tranquility. Sadly, I believe this film doesn’t really offer that kind of tranquility that I am talking about. Although I have not yet seen it from what I have gathered its very much about destruction and unrest within this beautiful ocean world. The Avatar sequel is filmed by a different cinematographer to the first one, this time it is filmed by Russell Carpenter.
The article went into great detail describing lots of equipment that Carpenter used for the film, a lot of which I have not heard of. From what I gathered it mainly demonstrates how complex and difficult this film was to film. It was filmed with many cameras, mostly of two groups which were live action and 3D virtual cameras that needed to match up perfectly as moving images for the CGI animation to work.
For some of the water scenes they struggled a lot with reflections. The way Carpenter dealt with this was by using clear plastic beads layered together on top of the water to stop light from coming through this way there were no unwanted reflections. For me I would not want to hide reflections in water, I think its one of its many and most beautiful attributes that mesmerise me. I am aware that this is done to control as much of the lighting in the film as possible. However, I would find it hard to manipulate it this way. Carpenter himself says “The light should be a living and breathing expression of the life of Pandora.” From the stills I have seen he has achieved this.
Something to note is that although this film is highly technically skilled and moving the film industry forward with new technology, it is important to acknowledge that there are problems with the story - which culturally appropriates indegenious people and makes money off of a screening (eventually streaming) that is based on colonialism. This is something that the director of the film argues aganist, however, it is literally what happens in the film.
The film is supposed to be about belonging and finding where you fit in the world, which I find fitting, in spite of the plot, as this correlates to the home aspect in the first part of this exercise.
Message of the week: I have promised myself that I will be reading more this year and that I will actually contribute a lot more to my blog. This is something that in previous years I found very difficult, but while writing this post I have realised it is more fun and even therapeutic than I remember.
Stay tuned for some queer content.

Russian Su-57 fighter gets new compact air-to-air missile with a range of 300 km
Fernando Valduga By Fernando Valduga 10/31/2023 - 08:42am Military
The Russian Su-57 fighter was equipped with a new long-range in-fuseling cruise missile, the RVV-BD – R-37M, designed to fit comfortably at the bottom of the stealth aircraft.
A informed source revealed to RIA Novosti that the missile is smaller in size compared to the "classic" cruise missiles, specifically adapted for the in-casting compartment. Although the exact specifications of the missile remain undisclosed, it has a range comparable to the cruise missiles of the strategic bombers Tu-160 and Tu-95MS. This size reduction was achieved through the incorporation of a folding wing, a new small bypass turbojet engine and an impeccably refined design.
New missiles for the Su-57 have been in development for some time, gradually increasing the aircraft's arsenal. At the end of August of this year, reports emerged that the fighter would soon receive a long-range missile capable of hitting high-speed air threats up to 300 km away, presumably the long-range guided air-to-air missile RVV-BD - R-37M.
Speculation surrounds the potential adaptation of the R-37M missile system, already integrated into the Su-57 fighter. This advanced variant of the 1989 R-37 missile system can hit high and low altitude targets at distances greater than 300 kilometers. Notably, this missile technology is also expected to extend to the Su-35.
The R-37M, also known as RVV-BD (Long Range Air-Air Air missile) can reach hypersonic speeds. It will be used by modernized MiG-31BM interceptors, Su-35S and Su-57 multifunctional fighters. This missile is capable of reaching altitudes ranging from 15 to 25,000 meters, guided semi-actively or actively by the Agat 9B-1388 system.
