i have never written anything like this before and I haven't read it so I hope I interpret it correctly <3
Genshin Headcannons ☆ Genshin characters find out you are a mermaid
Genshin x Fem!Reader
Genre: ☁️
Trigger warnings ⚠️: none!!
featuring: Diluc, Wriothesley, Kaeya
synopsis: in which the genshin boys find out about your little secret...
Notes: you are married to Diluc, you are Neuvillette's daughter in Wriothesley's one and you are a Knight in Kaeya's one 🪻
Diluc
You and your husband, Diluc, were on a leisurely walk around the Dawn Winery.
You hadn't been able to spend much time together since Diluc had been busy with work matters and as much as he wanted to spend some quality time with you one thing or another seemed to prevent that from happening.
On his side, things like business trips, calls and paperwork stopped him from relaxing with you.
However...on your side, the odd secret that you were keeping stopped you from wanting to go out.
Of course, with Diluc being your husband and all, he noticed how odd it was for you to not want to go out at all, but blamed it on the hormones, so when you wanted to go out all of a sudden when you were both free, he didn't think anything of it, other than a chance to spend some romantic and peaceful time together.
"The weather's is so lovely, no?" you say breaking the comfortable silence between you and Diluc.
"Very much so my dear, it's nice to finally be able to go out with you." Diluc looks down at you smiling softly.
You chuckle nervously as you swing your entwined hands back and forth.
"Of course!! Everyone has been so busy recently, huh...."
Diluc looks down at you once again but this time with a raised eyebrow.
"Well, yes I have been busy, but I thought you had plenty of free time." Diluc had caught you red handed as you sweatdropped.
You didn't know what to say as you flung your arms about trying to remove any suspicions Diluc may have had.
"You see honey, I am busy....but in my own- AGHH!!"
Just as you were about to give some wack ass excuses you weren't paying attention to your footpath (something you said you would DEFINITELY do) and tripped over a rock, falling into the nearby lake.
"Y/N!!! Are you okay?!" Diluc rushed to your aid jumping in the water with no hesitation despite your desperate pleas for him not to.
As he lifted you from the water his face contorted with confusion.
He held your mermaid tail in his hands, with hues of fiery red, each scale reflecting the flickering glow of the underwater sun. It moved with a sinuous grace, leaving trails of crimson in its wake, as if the ocean itself were aflame with passion.
"Diluc....I can explain-"
"Is this why you were hesitant to go out? I don't see why it should be something you want to hide? It is so elegant and beautiful, darling...."
Diluc seemed unfazed by what you thought would be a horrible shock.
"So you aren't mad...or anything?" you mumble looking away embarrassed.
"Of course not although, I'm rather annoyed all this stopped you from wanting to go out with me."
"I'm sorryyyy!!" You wrap your arms around Diluc's neck as he carries you back to the Dawn Winery slowly placing a gentle kiss on your wet forehead.
Wriothesley
"Y/N, I'm going to need you to go down to the Fortress once again."
Neuvillette (your father) often sent you down to the Fortress of Meropide to help out the staff down there- especially Wriothesley, and as much as you LOVED seeing Wriothesley, he knew you hated it because of how damp it was, for MANY reasons.
"But Dad! You know how risky it is....I've been going there so much lately." You wined whilst pouting hoping that was enough to convince Neuvillette to let you stay.
"I thought you loved spending time with the Duke, since you always come back looking all lovesick." Neuvillette smirked as he kept on writing on his documents whilst you got all flustered stomping off to go to the Fortress.
Everytime you went there you looked like you were going scuba diving and although the first few times everyone was caught off guard they seemed to be used to it.
Time Skip
"Hey Wrio! Guess who sent me down here again...." your strolled into the Duke's office casually as he looked up from his work smiling.
"None other than the Iudex, I assume. What did you do to make him hate you so much?" Wriothesley asked crossing his arms raising an eyebrow, not knowing the Iudex is actually your father.
"Eh...who knows...doesn't matter..."
You skipped up the steps and to your dismay, just as you reached the top step you tripped and landed on your face on the damp floor.
Now, in any other circumstances this would've been fine...but you weren't wearing much protective gear because you were in such a hurry, so when you grew a mermaid tail out of nowhere you felt extremely regretful.
"Y/N! Are you oka-" he stopped what he was saying as his jaw hung open.
All you could do was stare into Wriothesley's wide eyes of shock as the longest 5 seconds of your life went by.
Your tail was a delicate shade of light blue, reminiscent of the clearest summer sky reflected in tranquil waters. Quite pretty if you did say so yourself~
"....I can't believe my own crush is seeing me like this..." you mumbled looking to the ground hoping Wriothesley didn't hear.
"Crush? On me?," Wriothesley let out a hearty laugh, "Here I was thinking about asking you out on a date, but hearing that makes my job 10 times easier."
Amidst your embarrassment you felt overjoyed at the fact Wriothesley reciprocated your feelings.
"So...you aren't put off by my mermaid tail?"
Wriothesley shrugged his shoulders, "Why would I be? I've definitely seen worse and it's so glamorous."
You got so flustered at Wriothesley's compliments that you forgot you were on the floor and unable to move.
"Hey Wrio, do you mind helping me off the floor?" you asked sweatdropping.
Wriothesley laughed once again before picking you up bridal style and walking you to a chair. You rested your head on his chest before perking up to look up at him.
"Oh by the way...now would be a good time to say...Neuvillette is my dad."
He stopped in his steps, and looked down at you, "You know, that makes everything much more explicable for some reasons."
You both shared a warm laugh as you wrapped you arms around him giving him a tight hug.
Kaeya
"Y/N and Kaeya, all I need from you two today is to get rid of some treasure hoarders in Windrise....and other than that you are free to go."
"Would you look at that Y/N, it's our lucky day!~" Kaeya chuckled softly guiding you out of the Acting Grand Masters office.
You were both members of the Knight of Favonius, although you were just a normal Knight and Kaeya was the Cavalry Captain.
Even though you were ranked differently you were frequently going on missions together since you were not only romantically compatible but very compatible in battle.
"Treasure Hoarders are the easiest to fight....today will be a breeze, maybe we can go on a cute date afterwards?"
You cling to Kaeya's arm jokingly begging him to go on a date with you. Kaeya pulls out some water to drink as you stiffen hoping he doesn't get it it contact with you so some....bad...things don't happen. You slowly unwind your arms from Kaeya's and hope he doesn't notice this small action.
"Of course sweetheart, I never refuse a date with you." he bends down and places a soft kiss on you nose, walking off humming as you end up having to jog up to him.
Time Skip
You make it to Windrise, and the Treasure Hoarders seem to be dumber than others because you sneak up right behind them and they don't notice.
"Why hello there fellow people, and what do we have here?" The smirk in Kaeya's voice was so evident and the Treasure Hoarders whipped their heads round preparing for a fight.
Unfortunately for them they got taken down by both of you pretty quickly.
You and Kaeya high-five like you always do after a battle.
"That was an easy battle wasn't it?" Kaeya said as you began to walk back.
"It's always easy when it's the two of us." Kaeya smirks. You started laughing and completely unbeknownst to you a baby hydro slime was jumping up to you.
Before you knew it you got hit by the cute baby hydro slime and miraculously your mermaid tail formed. It was swirled with the deep, mysterious allure of navy blue, a bit like that of the midnight sky.
"Y/N!" Kaeya whipped his head as fast as he could losing his laid-back attitude in a second.
However, when he turned to see a baby hydro slime jumping on you with a mermaid tail he couldn't help but let out the most hearty laugh of all.
"Kaeya! Instead of standing there laughing, help me out!!"
Kaeya helped you after 30 seconds of laughing at you suffering.
He held you in his hands as he tried to find somewhere to sit so your tail would wear off. You sat in silence whilst Kaeya got some shut eye.
"...So you aren't shocked or anything?" you asked genuinely confused. You thought he would be flabbergasted.
"Haha! I knew all along sweetheart."

Hello ^^ I've been reading your stories and I really like them and I was just wondering if you don't mind doing a genshin impact boys x Reader with the characters being Tighnari,Kaeya,Albedo,Alhaitham and Kaveh? And the story being you hug them from behind (I hope that is fine with you of course no NSFW I've read the request rules ^^) that is if you still do genshin impact
౨ৎ hugging them from behind...
send a request!┊masterlist┊taglist applications
FEAT... tighnari, kaeya, albedo, alhaitham, kaveh
A/N... hellooo anon, thanks so much for this request, and for taking the time to read my rules too, i really appreciate it! alsoo, i'm so glad you like my writing, it means so much ♡ i actually really love this concept, and you've chosen some good characters too! apologies in advance if anyone is ooc ^^ (i have a feeling tighnari and kaeya might be a bit whoopssss)
✧ tighnari.
for tighnari, being the "chief officer of forest rangers" comes with a lot of responsibility, an example being informing the rangers of the route for patrol and any threats they could face along the way. that's why, when you find your beloved stood infront of a group of eager men and women, you're hardly surprised.
you sneak closer to them, listening in on the instructions your beloved was giving, but not paying attention to a single word said; instead, relishing in the smooth sound of tighnari's voice. it was so calming and so soothing; he was always able to relax you from just a few words... and that's when you decided, you wanted to hear it "more up close"
the "plan" had been created, and it was a simple one at that; you knew tighnari always left his weapons at home while instructing the team for some unknown reason, but would always have to come back to collect them before setting off. you thought you'd be helpful and bring them to him instead, it would save him the unnecessary trip, after all.
despite a couple doubts crossing your mind, you decided to follow through with your "plan", rushing back home to collect his bow, trying your best to be as quick as possible so that you don't miss your chance; and luckily, you didn't.
arriving back at the meeting grounds, you make your way over to tighnari, being sure to approach him from behind. setting his bow aside, you waved at the rangers who waved back enthusiastically, leaving tighnari to wonder: "who are they all waving at? me?"
he lifts his arm to wave awkwardly, only for you to grab hold of him, squeezing him tightly around his waist and pressing tender kisses behind his ears.
"you forgot your bow again, love"
you whispered, a rosey hue tinting his cheeks as his eyes widened in embarassment. instinctively, tighnari wraps his tail around you, his soft fur tickling your skin slightly. you smile to yourself, just imagining how brightly he must be blushing; having about a dozen people watching an intimate moment he'd much rather keep private, or atleast away from an audience.
"i have a question regarding the-"
"any questions will be discussed another time, dismissed"
he hurriedly shoos the forest rangers away, making up excuses such as "there are matters i must attend to" and even "those things don't concern you, now please take your leave". he acted all angry when he turned to face you, but archons, he looked adorable.
"now what do you think you're up to, hm? hugging me like that infont of all the rangers?"
"i can tell you aren't mad, 'nari"
you can read him like a book, knowing exactly how he acts when he tries to hide how flustered he is; how he attempts to harden his exterior but gives in within seconds.
"i- i never said i was i just... don't you- i-"
he sighs, admitting defeat as he burries his face in the crook of your neck. you feel his hot breath against your shoulder as he murmurs:
"i hate you"
"i love you too"
✧ kaeya.
you walked to the cat's tail with a spring in your step, excited to see kaeya after spending more than a week apart. you'd been on a long expedition to liyue and had only just gotten back to mondstadt, not bothering to drop your belongings off at your house but instead hauling them along with you; unable to wait any longer to see your beloved (and silently praying he'd offer to help you carry them to your place)
after what felt like an hour of walking, you finally made it to your destination, shoulders sore from having to carry your bags instead of loading them onto a cart like you had when travelling to the nation of contracts.
poking your head into the tavern, you could see kaeya sat at one of the tables alone, watching out of the window, as if he was waiting for something, or someone... that's right, you!
you watch him carefully, waiting for the perfect moment to strike, and there it was: he'd gotten up from his seat, suppossedly to order a drink at the bar, and attempt to avoid the black cat and his... friendly translator; being invited to play a game of genius invocation tcg was the last thing he wanted.
dropping everything and leaving it in a pile at the front door, you practically throw yourself inside and run towards kaeya, his back now turned to you as he walks back to his table.
"[name]? archons, you scared me, i almost dropped my drink!"
refusing to let go, the two of you awkwardly waddle to the window, wanting some peace and quiet away from the taverns other patrons.
"someone's a little friendly today, hm? you miss me that much?"
"well if you don't want my attention, i can just let go..."
you tease, slowly but surely loosening your grip on his waist and sliding your hands to his sides. without warning, he grabs hold of your hands and wraps them back around him, holding them in place firmly, caressing your palms with his thumbs.
"i never said let go! wait... do you... not want to hug me anymore?"
here comes the show... kaeya would gasp dramatically, clutching at his chest as if he'd been struck by lightning, or something even more theatrical.
"do you not love me anymore?"
it never ends. he keeps building on it, acting hurt by your actions, more-so physically than mentally despite you having injured him being nothing to do with the "plot". only when you spin him around in your arms and press your lips against his does he finally stop talking, melting into the kiss as his mind goes completely blank. he'd pull away panting for air, his eyes glazed over with pure adoration.
"i love you"
"i love you moreee"
you're basically asking for it at this point.
"you love me more than i love you? impossible! preposterous! disgraceful! outrag-"
"i'm going to magically fall out of love with you in a minute if you don't-"
"i'm only kiddinggg, you're so fun to tease"
he brings one of your hands up to his lips and kisses it softly with a big grin plastered on his face; oh how he loves to wind you up, and secretly, you love it too.
"i do love your hugs though, and i really did miss you so... please hug me again?"
✧ albedo.
it's been hours since you'd last seen albedo, and though only a few hours doesn't sound too long, it felt like an eternity. it was all too often he'd hide away up in dragonspine, working tirelessly on his latest experiments and not taking any time for himself, and it worried you. that being said, you decided to come up with a plan to distract him, and a hug from behind sounded like the perfect idea...
you creep into his campsite, waiting for the perfect moment to throw yourself onto him.
"3... 2..."
you whispered to yourself, counting down the seconds before you could finally hold your beloved once more, missing his gentle touch; and you were more than just eager.
"1!"
excited, you jog up to him and wrap your arms tightly around him, but feeling him jolt so harshly made you slightly concerened...
"woah! careful, careful!"
panicked, albedo sets down the equipment in his hands as quickly as he can, worried he'd drop or injure you with them. he lets out a sigh of relief once they're out of the way, moving his hands ontop of yours and loosening your grip so that he could turn to face you. hands now resting on your waist, he looks at you with a stern expression.
"[name], what did i tell you about hugging around my experiments?"
"i know, i know, i just missed you and thought if i hug you from behind i wouldn't be getting in the way"
"i-... technically you're right, but you gave me quite the scare nevertheless, it could've caused an explosion if we were to have fallen. what kind of lover would i be if i were to put you in danger?"
"i'm sorry, 'bedo, i didn't mean to-"
he sighs, noticing the way he was being slightly too hard on you; all he wanted was to keep you safe. he'd never forgive himself if you were to be injured from one of his experiments, which is why he always to extra precautios when it came to you.
"i know, it's alright, my love, i'm just glad you didn't get hurt"
he leans towards you, reaching both hands up to cup your cheeks, squeezing them gently before giving you a soft kiss on the lips. he doesn't take his eyes off of you, pulling away from the kiss only to look into your eyes, his own filled with the purest love. you could get lost in them for hours, admiring how all the different hues work together so perfectly to create the most beautiful shade of blue.
"i know you were probably hoping to spend some time together, but... i really have to get this done, honey, i'm sorry"
"that's ok, i just want to be with you..."
"... then stay, hold onto me from behind, ok? just make sure you-"
"-don't touch anything, i've got it"
and so you hung onto albedo, almost like a sloth, slowing down his movements ever so slightly, but he didn't mind, nor did he mention it. he'd apologise whenever he accidentally stood on you foot, even though he wasn't applying much pressure in the first place, being purposefully light on his feet as to not hurt you. every now and then, he'd take hold of one of your hands, bringing it up to his lips and kissing it so gingerly before setting it back down onto his waist.
sure, it wasn't the most romantic scenario, but you couldn't care less; all you wanted was him, to hold him, to feel his warmth against you, to know he was there...
✧ alhaitham.
"'haithammm"
you call out, wondering into his study, half expecting him to be elsewhere, but being pleasantly surprised when you find him sat comfortably in his arm chair. (like an old man)
"yes, darling?"
a soft smile creeps onto your face as you slowly make your way towards him; you just can't help it. even when he is doing almost nothing, alhaitham never fails to charm you, to make you smile like an idiot from a single glance.
"will you tell me that story again? the one about the dr- oh! sorry i didn't realise you were busy-"
you apologise profusely, turning to leave but only being able to take a few steps before alhaitham grabs your arm and drags you back towards him, almost pulling you over the arm of his chair
"love, it's ok, i'm not busy, i can tell you stories whenever you'd like to hear them"
"that's ok, how about you tell me about that book instead?"
you smile down at him sweetly before taking a look at the cover of his book; the gold lettering complimenting the brown leather perfectly.
"darling, you don't have to pretend to be interested, i can t-"
"no, no, please, tell me what you're reading! i like hearing you talk about your books"
he blushes slightly, his slightly widened eyes flicking back to the pages of the novel within an instant, wanting to avoid any possible eye contact.
"well, if you insist... this book is about how two-"
listening carefully, you move behind him, resting your hands on his shoulders before sliding them down his upper arm before dragging them across his chest. your hands meet near the middle, intertwining with eachother and resting against alhaitham's pounding heart.
"everything ok?"
you tease, knowing well how flustered this makes him, enjoying how he stuggles to keep a hold of himself.
"i- as i was saying... this book here is about two young lovers, how they met, and how they will someday grow old together and see the beauties of the world beyond life hand-in-hand... quite a precious story if i do say so myself, wh-"
you stand in shock, scanning over the open pages to make sure the story he's explaining is truly the one held in his hands; to your surprise, it was.
"wait wait wait, 'haitham... you are reading a romance novel?!"
"is that so surprising?"
"never in my life did i think alhaitham, the akedemiya's scribe who seems only interested in facts and figures, would be reading books about romance"
"well, dare i say you've rubbed off on me, love"
"i- i have?"
"why of course you have, every empty moment is filled with you, my love. see,"
he gestures to the pieces of - what looks like - paper sticking out of the book in various places, each one seemingly marking a significant moment in the plot.
"-even this book reminds me of you, all these little tabs represent thoughts of mine, these purple ones are thoughts of you, of us"
much to your disbelief, almost every single tab - par one or two - is coloured a shade of purple, you can even spot a couple of hearts peeking out from inbetween the pages. each section that was sticking out had the words "i love you" carefully written on them, written in his fancy handrwiting rather than what you refer to as his "scribe mode handwriting"
you squeeze him tighter, touched by how head over heels he was for you, nuzzling your face into the crook of his neck and planting soft kisses on along his shoulder and below his jaw. you wanted to show just how loved you felt in that moment, and how loved you wanted him to feel too. little did you know, alhaitham was a blushing mess; his face a vibrant hue of pink, his mouth forming words but not being able to force any of them out.
"i love you so much, 'haitham"
"i- i love you, [name]"
✧ kaveh.
"that doesn't seem quite right..."
kaveh is stood pondering in his office, the blueprints on the easle in front of him full of detail, far more complicated than anyone other than him could make any sense of. several stacks of scrolls take up all his desk space, 'stealing' his pencils and other pieces of equipment, or atleast that's what he claims to be happening.
in reality, his workspace is far too messy, causing him even more stress ontop of trying to find the perfect measurements for whatever building he was planning. you picked up on this, how he often promises to eat with you at the table, but gets so lost in his work he dismisses his own needs just for the sake of his project.
you decide to take the initiative, covering the plates of food with towels before making your way to kaveh's office; a small building to the left of the living area of the property, though it seemed to be that he was living there instead.
slowly pushing the front door open, you let yourself inside, sighing happily at not only the warm air against your now cold cheeks, but also at the comforting scent that you know all too well...
"it looks good, hun" you'd say, your voice gentle and sweet as to not scare him. he wouldn't turn to face you, but instead stare holes into his blueprints, hand holding his chin as he was lost in thought.
"hm? oh, sorry love, could you repeat that? i didn't hear you"
you make your way over to him, choosing to stand behind him rather than infront. snaking your arms around his waist and pulling him into you, you rest nuzzle the side of your face against his back. he jolts slightly, only to relax into your touch seconds after. "it's looking good" you repeat yourself, rubbing circles on his stomach through his shirt in an attempt to ease his stress. all it does is leave him stressed and flustered... ok maybe a bit less stressed, he's not complaining though. he loves the way you're so gentle with your hands, and know exactly how to make him feel so flustered. placing his own hands on yours, he intertwines your fingers with his, dragging your hands across his lower stomach to wrap around him tighter. "y- you really think so?"
"of course i do, love, everything you design is beyond beautiful, but this one especially...
"would- do you think you'd live in it?"
"oh, absolutely! strangely enough, it looks just like how i imagined my home to be when i was younger"
unbeknownst to you, kaveh is uncontrollably smiling like an idiot, knowing that you approve of your future home really gives him even more motivation to put his all into every single one of the blueprints, making sure not to miss even a single detail...

Extinguished The Fires
Pairing: Diluc Ragnvindr x (GN)Reader
summary: diluc offered you a place to stay following a sudden fire. how long will it be until unresolved feelings come to the surface?
cw: mentions of blood and injuries, patching up wounds, kissing
notes: this is a repost from ao3, i'm novalupin on there too if you'd prefer reading in that format.
The trees surrounding the winding path filtered beams of moonlight through them, illuminating the weary Pyro user dragging himself to Dawn Winery. He sighed, swatting at the crystalflies which were hovering around his head, his skin gleaming in their aura.
Diluc clutched at his side in agony, his worn boots scratching at the gravel. Every so often, an irritated grunt would slip from him as he narrowly missed muddy roots that threatened to topple him.
It was supposed to be a simple Fatui raid. Take ‘em out, grab any information, disappear. That was the plan. He’d defeated five of them, and they fell to their knees in a fiery blaze, but he'd gotten complacent. He’d rushed straight for the last ones without taking a few seconds to regain his elemental control, hoping brute force with his greatsword would suffice.
Some Skirmishers were defeated swiftly, but the remaining ones sent Diluc flying to the concrete walls of the stronghold with their weaponry. He was outnumbered and outarmed, and was forced to abandon the mission. Now, he was stuck lumbering home at an ungodly hour like a common drunkard, a ripping pain in his abdomen with each step.
His thoughts were racing. Word would definitely travel fast through the Fatui’s ranks. The last thing he needed was for a Harbinger to hear of his identity and halt all Mondstadt operations.
But, even with numerous lesions scattered across his body, his mind still drifted back to you.
You’d met the winery owner a couple years prior, often sharing a bottle of wine and a conversation with Kaeya and Rosaria at the bar. Over time, your visits to the tavern had become more frequent, and less of them included the captain and nun.
Diluc usually detested chatting. It had always seemed like a futile way of passing the time, and he made it abundantly clear to anyone whom he interacted with that he’d much rather eat a slime than make small-talk about their day.
Though, it felt different when he spoke to you. You were so… captivating, to say the least. He spent hours in your company, even working the closing shifts at the bar against his (and Charles’) better judgement just for more time in your presence. He’d fumble out a half-hearted excuse as to why he was still there and converse about your commissions. His thoughts shifted to the first time he'd stayed late.
“Can I have a-” You started, pausing when you saw he’d already placed your regular order in front of you.
Without missing a beat, he asked, turning to listen intently: “How were your commissions? I caught word there was a hilichurl blockade near Springvale today. Did you manage to collect your materials?”
“Yeah, huge camp. It’s weird that they were this close to the city, though.”
“The Knights never fail to surprise me with their incompetence.” He huffed. “They wouldn’t know their ups from their downs without the Acting Grand Master.”
You had let out a breath of amusement, before rattling on about the loot you’d gathered, and what you planned to use it for.
He hated how fond he was of you. He hated how, when you’d mentioned to your friends in front of him that your house was in shambles after a sudden fire, he’d wasted no time in insisting you use a room at the winery. He hated how he wished it was a permanent arrangement.
He was brought out of his reverie by the winery’s hazy lighting. With a few clicks, he heaved open the oaken doors, and headed upstairs. The maids had long taken their leave, and you were probably asleep, so he didn’t have to worry too much about alarming someone. Recently, you had gotten into the habit of entertaining a game of chess with him before bed, and both of you departed to your rooms. Well, you did, at least. He, on the other hand, would wait a few minutes, grab his coat, and head out the door for his nightly patrols.
His hand hovered over his doorknob, catching a glimpse of light out of the corner of his eye. The library’s door was ajar, leaking candlelight into the dark hallway. His eyebrows knitted together in confusion. Maybe it slipped his mind when he was getting ready.
Drawing closer, he heard the faint shuffling of pages coming from inside. It was you, seated in a armchair, eagerly flipping through the book in your hand. There was a large pile of them next to you, no doubt ones you wished to finish.
“You’re up late,” his monotonous voice broke the airy silence. “Good read?”
You nearly jumped out of your own skin. Your voice took on a shaky, frenzied tone as you spoke.
“Oh, Archons, Diluc, I’m so sorry. The door was open,” you rambled. “I really didn’t mean to overstep.”
“No, nothing of that sort. You needn’t apologise. What’s mine is yours.” His voice was gentle as he tried to steady his breathing. He would’ve rather bled out than sought any help from a healer, but his wounds were getting the better of him. He inched a bit closer, a gloved finger turning the book slightly to reveal its velvety cover.
“‘Heart’s Desire’,” he read, nodding in approval. He reasoned that, if he engaged himself in an interesting discussion with you, his pain would be long forgotten. “A riveting tale.”
“It really would be great, though, don’t you think? A secret corner of the city?” You mused happily. “I enjoyed Veiga as the main character, I think she…”
You caught an unusual colour under the layers of his clothing. You furrowed your eyebrows, and extended a hand to push Diluc’s hefty coat to the side, brushing your fingers over his now stained waistcoat. He let out a sharp exhale.
“You’re bleeding! What happened?” You asked, panicked. “Why didn’t you say something?”
“Miscalculation, that’s all.” He responded sharply, shrugging your touch off of him. He removed his gloves before taking the book from you to skim the pages. “I’ve taken care of it. I don’t need your help.”
He watched as you gave him a skeptical glance, before getting up and leaving the room. He worried that he had upset you, his expression souring at the thought, but you strode back in, arms full with a wooden box he assumed to be healing supplies. You gestured for him to sit, and after a few beats of silence, he relented, and removed his coat, along with his vest. He knew he’d usually deny your aid over and over, but you always seemed to ignore his stubborn objections.
You clicked open the latch and laid out various oils and gauze. Rolling up the sleeves to your nightshirt, you tugged at the bottom of his button-down, silently asking for permission.
“You don’t have to,” he mumbled. It was a soft, dejected plea, but he unbuttoned the grey fabric with no further protests. It revealed three large gashes across his side, and his haphazard attempt at stopping the bleeding with a ripped piece of fabric.
“For a well-known businessman, you’re not very diplomatic. This might sting.” You said, soaking a piece of the gauze in a cleansing oil, before wiping it on him gently. He let out a hiss at the sensation. You noticed, as you started on the next wound, the amount of scars that marred his toned abdomen, all previously left to mend themselves.
It all felt painfully intimate, the heaving of his chest, his open shirt, the proximity. A small part of you wished it was under better circumstances. He looked down at you through crimson lashes, observing your expression.
You wrapped up the injuries, flattening out the bandage flush against his skin. He wrapped his fingers around a vial of a pain-suppressor, which he downed instantly. In a controlled whisper, you spoke, rebuttoning his shirt.
“Why do you do this?”
It could have meant so many things. Why do you hurt yourself for a city that pays you no mind? Why do you refuse to ask for help?
Rising to eye level, you realised how close your faces truly were. He made no attempt to pull back, your breaths intermingling.
You realised how truly beautiful Diluc was. It’s really easy to call someone attractive, but he was lovely in the way one would speak of a painting. His unruly curls poking out of his ponytail from various angles, the tiny tinge of red on his cheeks perfectly complimenting the fiery hues of his eyes; it was like someone had chiseled him from marble, each carving calculated and perfectly placed to create him. You seemed at a loss for words, and your gaze shifted to the thin scar that cut through his jaw, a memento of old missions.
Diluc's gaze fell slightly. He didn’t know if it was because his mind was hazy from the painkiller, or it was the late night getting to him, but he made a decision he couldn’t take back.
In one swift motion, his hand gently pulled your jaw to him as he pressed your lips to his. You molded to his touch perfectly, sinking closer into him. It wasn’t passionate or heated; it was a meek, gentle kiss, much resembling two young teenagers who were on the tails of a dramatic confession. For someone who wasn’t much of a sweet-talker, you could feel every sentence in his touch.
With each graze of his fingers, with each brush of his lips. I love you. I’m sorry.
All of those days, pining over him as he’d speak about the newest concoctions he had come up with, had finally come to fruition.
He pulled away for air, resting his forehead on yours. The vermillion of his eyes was so piercing, so stark against the pale tones of his skin.
“Because of you.” He murmured. You felt him intertwine your bare fingers, pressing his calloused hands against your own. You stared at him, confused.
“You asked me why I do this.” He explains. “I do it to preserve you.”
His sentence almost fades in his throat.
"To preserve… us."

Zhongli, Diluc, Kaeya, and Xiao x GN! Reader where the boys have a really bad nightmare and they wake up and panic/cry when the reader isn’t there next to them? (They’re really just in another room) comfort fluff always gets me :D
I'm not sure if that's exactly what you wanted,, but I really hope you like it! For some reason.. this work actually took a while to write.. (つω`。)
🌷Next to you🌷
Pairings: Zhongli/Diluc/Kaeya/Xiao x GN! Reader
Warnings: None.. I think? Just slight angst!
Notes: I'm sorry! This turned to be a lot angstier than I wanted it to be.. Have a good read though! (*´▽`*)
•Zhongli•
You were just about to finish your work and join your sleeping partner in another room when you heard someone opening the door.
You turned your head towards the sound, noticing your lover standing in the doorframe, his eyes widened, hand a little shaky.
"Zhongli? Give me a minute, I was just about to finish this and-" You started only to be cut off by him wrapping his arms around you into safe and warm embrace. "Is everything okay..?"
You returned the hug, embracing your partner while he pushed his face into the crook of your neck.
He kept silent for a while, enjoying the feeling of your warmth, your arms wrapped around him. The feeling that you're still there, in front of him.
"Please.. Excuse me.." Zhongli whispered, his voice slightly raspy. "I'm relieved you're still here, dearest.."
You pulled back a little, only to look at his face - Eyes full of worries, looking right into yours curious pupils. Zhongli always looked at you as if he was about to see you for the last time. You smiled softly, lifting one of your hands up to caress his cheek.
"I'm not going anywhere, love.." You whispered, watching as your partner leaned into your touch, his eyes closing as a relieved sigh left his mouth. "And I never will, Zhongli."
He returned the smile as you placed a quick kiss on top of his nose.
"I love you.."
•Diluc•
It's been a pretty rough week for Diluc and today was finally the day he could get some rest. Unfortunately, he doesn't find peace even in the dream world.
You were downstairs at the moment, sitting near the fireplace and enjoying the warmth that wrapped around you in the pleasing embrace. Lately the weather seemed to be a little too cold for your liking. - That's why you often decided to just sit in front of the flames before going to bed.
Diluc, on the other side, missed the warmth of your body right next to his. Perhaps that was the reason of his nightmares? Even though he owns a pyro vision, his heart doesn't feel any heat when not around you.
You sighed quietly, closing your eyes as you got up from the couch, ready to join your lover upstairs in the bedroom.
As fast as you entered the room though, you noticed your partner sitting on the bed, head lowered and face burried into his hands.
"Diluc..?" You whispered, not expecting your lover to be awake by the time you joined him in the bedroom. "Is everything okay? Are you feeling sick?"
You walked up to him quickly, sitting down next to him and putting a hand on his shoulder. You watched as he turns his head towards you slowly, your gaze meeting his. You could see the fear in his eyes, but what could that he's so scared of be?
"I can't lose you too.." He stated, his voice shaky as his mind went back to the painful memories from the past. You wrapped you arms around him instantly and sighed quietly, feeling how cold his body against yours is.
"Luc.." You whispered into his ear, your voice quiet and comforting as you rubbed his back softly, trying to help him relax. "I promise.. You're not going to lose anything anymore.."
He sighed at the nickname you used, even though it reminded him of not so pleasant childhood memories, from your lips it sounded unusually angelic. As any word you've ever spoken to him.
"Don't make promises you can't uphold."
You smiled softly, placing a kiss against his forehead.
"I'm only making promises I'm sure to keep.."
Diluc returned the smile, lifting one of his hands up to push some stubborn strands of hair behind your ear. He caressed your cheek gently, pressing his forehead against yours.
"I'll protect you then, along with this promise."
•Kaeya•
Kaeya has been overworking himself lately. Taking naps in his office became something normal, along with not taking breaks at all. He'd often stay in his office for night, only coming back home early in the morning to instantly plop down on the couch and pass out.
You wanted to help your partner with all you had, that's why sometimes you decided to visit him in his office, bringing something to eat. It's been a while since you started dating the cavalry captain, that's why guards had no doubt if to let you into the quarters or not.
You opened the door to Kaeya's office, a smile on your face as you entered the room.
"Sorry for such late visit, I hope you don't mi-" You instantly covered your mouth as you noticed that your lover was currently 'busy' taking a nap. You smiled lightly and walked up to his desk, putting a bag with fresh buns down next to the paperwork. Your hand wandered to the top of his head, wanting to stroke his hair, but as fast as you touched him, Kaeya jolted up, his eyes widened.
You took your hand away quickly, your body frozen.
"O-oh my.. I'm s-so sorry Kaeya! I didn't want to wake you up!" You apologized quickly, lifting your hands up in defense as he looked at you, his gaze following your even movement.
He took a shaky breath and closed his eyes after a while, putting a hand to his forehead. Perhaps overworking himself started affecting his dreams.. Kaeya didn't even think that was possible.
Cavalry captain wrapped one of his arms around your waist and pulled you onto his lap, embracing you quickly. Kaeya pushed his face into the crook of your neck, taking a deep breath of your calming scent as he whispered.
"For getting me out of there.. ..thank you.."
The sentence left you quite confused, but you didn't bother to ask about anything. You gently wrapped your arms around the male, returning the warmth to the other.
"Thank you.." He repeated quietly, painting a smile on your face as you brushed his cheek with your lips, placing a kiss onto his skin. His grip around you tightened, as if that was the last physical contact you're going to share.
"For getting me out of this nightmare.."
•Xiao•
It wasn't rare for Xiao to have nightmares. In fact, it was pretty common. His past didn't seem to let go of him so soon, his karma visiting him everyday in the dream world.
But he could bear with it, because you were next to him. You were there to calm him down, to cheer him up and understand his overwhelming fear. He was scared of losing everything he loves. He was scared of losing you.
One night he woke up from the nightmare, the same he dreamt about every night. You were just about to go to sleep, changing clothes in the room next door.
Xiao jolted up, turning his head to the side, only to notice that you're not laying next to him. He knew that it was nightmare, that you were safe and sound, yet something inside him kept telling him to check on you.
What if something happened? You're not going to make the same mistakes, are you?
He shoot out of the bed, lifting one of his hands up to his face to wipe a single tear rolling down his cheek. Xiao rushed to the other room, sighing in relief as fast as he noticed you.
"Xiao? I was just about to join you-" You turned towards him, taking a step back as he started walking towards you. - His expression hurt, steps fast. You widened your eyes when your partner hugged you, pushing his face into your shoulder. You could feel his tears against your skin."X-xiao?"
"Don't you dare leave me.." He whispered, his embrace tightening at the thought of having to let you go. You smiled softly, wrapping your arms around him as well. You closed your eyes, one of your hands rubbing small circles onto his back, as the other hand stroked his hair calmingly.
"I love you.. I'm sorry.."
For not being there when you woke up.
I'm sorry..
For having to leave one day.

Wolves
Pairing: Kaeya x fem!Reader, Diluc, Crepus
Warning: minor swearing, cheesy flirt, dry humour
Summary: All men are wolves.
A/N: Muahaha I have came back and brought you the blatant cheesy flirt. Welcome to the first lesson of flirting with Kaeya. Lol, guess who is coming next?
Also, I’m planning to write a wind-trace fic because the game is so fun. (p/s: I waste 3 hours playing it) Guess who is in it?
Okay, the first fic for my lover boy. Please give Kaeya a lot of love!! (* ̄3 ̄)╭
Another beautiful day, another day of wasting the lovely weather to stay inside the study room, bury your head into the pile of books next to you. You let your eyes wander to the window again, gazing rays of light fleeting through the window, golden hues on the wooden floor. Tiny specks of dust accumulate overnight, fluttering around the curtain. Outside, the chirping birds bathing under the sun, casually chilling on the window. Oh, how you wish you would be able to relax like those carefree animals.
“You might burn the birds crips the longer you stare at it.” Startled by the quiet voice, your head snaps toward the blue-haired teenage direction, and you can’t help but scowl at his statement. You can’t be the only person in the room who wants to go out and play. Knowing Kaeya, he’s definitely trying to find an excuse to end the class early.
The only person who is diligent, hard-working, and does not have thought about leaving this room is the young master Diluc. The young man is sitting opposite you, eyes burning holes on the thick textbook.
Archon, how can a 16 years old overly enthusiastic person like him enjoy the excitement of reading Descartes philosophy? Maybe he is the only child in Mondstadt, no, maybe in the whole Teyvat who enjoys something torturous like that. Shivering at your own thought, you shift your chair closer to Kaeya, giving Diluc a terror gaze.
“Aren’t you going to finish the essay?” Pointing at the half-full parchment on the table, you ask. “ Diluc and I already finish it.”
“ Oh, how do I know? How am I suppose to understand Kant and Descartes theories, and then link them to deductive and inductive reasoning?" Kaeya lets his finger running through the silky blue hair and pulls them out of frustration. On the other side, Diluc shoots him a glare, annoyed by his brother complaint.
“How did you guys do it?” Kaeya asks boredly, his finger pokes the quill.
You put your hand under your chin, beaming him charmingly. “ You know Kaeya, it is something I call improvisation. Words just flow out of my tip.” Under your lashes, you can see his cheek dusting pink. Cute!
“ Just read the books, and you will get it.” Diluc unhelpful adds.
Both of you stare at red-head incredulously. Is he being serious?
Like always, Kaeya knows he can not take your advice to heart. One is a genius, and the other is just pure luck.
Suddenly, the door is burst open, and you quickly shove your feet into the shoes, eyes darting to see the intruder. Internally, you hope that person is not lady Elizabeth, your etiquette teacher. Your blood runs cold at the thought. You can already imagine her sharp tones commenting how horrendous and un-ladylike your act is.
“How is your study going?” A deep, strong voice booming from the back, and finally, you get let out a breath. Diluc looks up from his book, beams brightly at the man.
“ We are done with homework, father. These are just extra reading.” Well, for the record, these are his extra readings, not yours. And Kaeya hasn’t finished his 2 feet scrolls of essay yet.
Master Crepus nods in satisfaction. “ If that is finished, you kids can take a break. The young lady from the Gunnhildr family is here with her father. Maybe you can give her some accompanies.” The middle-aged man directs the words at you, maybe feeling guilty for leaving a young lady like you in his two sons care.
Your parents left you in the Ragnvindr care every Summer because of their hectic schedules and frequent business trips at this time of the year. In addition, your mother says it is essential for you to have good relationships with the heir of Ragnvindr and his brother. “Maybe you will need their help someday.” She left it vaguely.
“ Are you guys going to drink again?” Kaeya suspiciously questions, his eyes glinting with playfulness.
“ Hey, what’s wrong with men having a drink together?” Crepus defensively retorts, notices how Diluc gives him a disproving gaze.
“ When you guys grow up, you would enjoy it too.” The three let out opposing noises, clearly not having the same idea as him. The man waves dismissively return back the topic.
“ Let’s come down to greet the head of Gunnhildr first.” He heads toward the door, down the hallway.
“And be nice to the young lady, boys.” The master emphasizes the phrase, his eyes pinning at the guilty-looking Kaeya and the absent-minded Diluc. Finally, he exits the room, not forgetting to close the door.
“ Father says as if we don’t treat people nicely.” Kaeya pouts, right after Crepus footstep drifting away from the study. “ The workers never complain anything about our behaviours, right Luc?”
Sitting next to him, you can't help but let out a snort. He dares to say that? Kaeya raises eyebrows at you, annoyed by your shaking shoulder. The boy in red has a blank face, maybe not interested.
“ First, you guys ignore me for 2 weeks when I just came here.” You burst out in laughter, recalling back at the very first memory when you just arrived here.
“When I tried to approach, you both avoided me like the plague.” Your whole body is shaking vigorously, tears forming at the corners of your eyes. This is too hilarious! Somewhere in between, you can spot Diluc burning cheek.
“ Haha, and haha-later,” You can hardly breath, laughter bubbling up. “Adeline told me your reason is ‘It's b-because she doesn’t have a willie.' ” Dramatically air-quoting, you even imitate their stuttering childish voices. This earns you a pointed glare from Diluc and a smack in the arm from Kaeya, but a good laugh is always worth it.
Both of them freeze on their tracks, faces puff red as tomatoes, steaming almost coming off their ears. If the young heir is to wear a red suit, you are sure he can blend in well with the mansion roof.
Diluc shifts stiffly in his chair and abruptly stands up, heading toward the exit. Maybe he is too embarrassed at the mention of his dark childhood.
“Where-haha, are you going, Luc?” You are still in the middle of your giggling, noticing how Diluc is dashing to the door. Letting out a coughing fit, he quietly mumbles.
“ I'm going down to greet the Gunnhildr family.” His figure vanishes right behind the door, not letting you tease him further. Outside, the painful sound of Diluc tripping on his own feet make you almost fall off your chair. You have too many good laughs today.
“Right, I-I should get going too.” Next to you, the blazing Kaeya remembers to dig a hole and hide. His hand slams hard on the table and the youthful teenager stands up, gracefully heading toward the door. Maybe he wants to avoid becoming another joke.
" Ah, wait-" You follow instantly, but the moment you stand up, something slips, and the next thing you know, the ground is shaking, and you see the ceiling is getting further.
Your first instinct is to grab the closest object, and then close your eyes, waiting for the painful impact with your head. Clench your jaw tightly, and you hold your breath, hoping it will hurt less if you tense your body.
Right after tensing up, you feel someone just grab you by your shoulder, and your feet step on something bumpy. And then, your head makes an impact with something hard. A grunting is followed.
Heart hammering in your chest, you cautiously peek, expecting yourself to see the ceiling, but instead, greet with an unusual sight. A pair of dark colour trouser paired with leather shoes. On top of it is your feet, loosely wore low heel is stepping on that leather shoes. Shit, you stepped on Kaeya. In a panic, you rush down from his painful sore feet, but your head jams in his ribs. He just let out another woeful sound.
This time, you carefully keep your position in place, slowly remove each foot one by one, moving away from him. Craning your neck upward, you finally meet his gaze, his eyes are full of concern and uneasiness, spooked out by your sudden incident.
“Did you hit your head hard?” Kaeya asks you nervously, his voice laced with anxiety. He must have been terrified when you slip. You shake your head, hands grabbing his shirt.
" I should be asking you that. Are you okay?" You give him a worrying gaze, your fingers running along his ribs, checking if your stone head broke anything. " I didn't break anything, right?" Hesitantly, you look into his deep blue eyes, noticing the diamond shape. Has he always has this in his eyes?
Kaeya snorts inelegantly, shakes his head. " Your head is hard as a rock, but that much can't break my ribs yet." This earns him a hit on his arm.
"Hey! I'm trying to be considerate, and this is how you treat me?" You jab him, hand purposely smack his chest, but he doesn't budge an inch. How strong is this guy? This time, you put all the force on your arm, slapping hard on his chest again. The young man in the blues shoot you a shit-eating grin, clearly not faze.
"How is my chest feeling?" He pokes, his palm engulfing yours.
" Too hard for my liking." You give him a complex look, trying to escape from his tight grip but fail miserably. You wiggle your hand again, shaking off his iron clad. Why is he so strong?
While you are attempting to flee from his firm grasp, the young man leans down, face an inch away from you. Flushing at the sudden closure, like usual, you avoid his burning gaze. You hold your breath when your noses almost touch. What is this rascal doing again?
" You shouldn't be touching men like that." Kaeya opens his mouth, saying something completely out of nowhere. You tilt your head in confusion, while your eyes travel down, you notice your hands still on his chest. O-oh, so he is saying about this.
" I don't normally touch random people." You mumble defensively, your eyes lower. " I was checking for your injury."
"They will misunderstand." Kaeya cuts in right after, not accepting the excuse. But why would they misunderstand? You are just being nice, right?
Like he can understand what is going inside your mind, Kaeya reminds you.
"All men are wolves, you should be more be careful with them."
You give him a confusing look.
Kaeya is not one of them, right?
Eventually, he let out a soft sigh and moves back, allowing you to savour your personal space. Just right after your throbbing heart finally calms down, he brings your tight-griped hand in his to his face. Your meet with his alluring look in his eyes. It is pulling you in, telling you to give in the temptation. Plump lips brush your knuckle teasingly, he blows a warm breath on the back of your hand. He gives you a saccharine smile.
" And if not be careful." His husky voice ringing in your ears, the numbing spark runs along your spine. "They might devour you."

envy denial
aether x gn! reader
⚠️ : none
theme : fluff
note: listen i really love aether. ain't nothing stopping me from loving him 🥺😔 also thank you for reading 💓
⊱ ──────ஓ๑♡๑ஓ ────── ⊰
Golden-yellow eyes stared at a familiar figure who stood in front of a merchant stand not far from where the owner of the eyes sat. Aether's pale hands gripped on his knees a bit tight. Blonde brows narrowed down on his forehead as he silently watched [Y/N] interact with the owner of the stall, clearly interested in their conversation. Aether didn't understand. The couple were out roaming around Liyue. The outlander had a commission there and [Y/N], tired of waiting for their lover at home and being alone, decided to join in on one. Aether let them joined him on his travels but as long as they stood out of harm way. Yes, they had a vision but they had yet to wield a weapon. Support ended up being their role in his travels.
Shaking his head at the thoughts, Aether sighed heavily, his foot tapping on the payment in front of the bench he sat at. He still didn't understand. What was so interesting to ensue a conversation about it? [Y/N] only went up to the stall to ask about the commission's contents. Only to speak about other things unrelated to the commission. Aether groaned. His hands running through his hair. He felt weird inside. Like he hated [Y/N] taking the time to spend it with some guy behind a stand. Speaking about nonsense he didn't care about. What he did care was getting [Y/N]'s attention back on him. And on him only. As well as the commission, of course. But still to himself.
Jealous. Aether was getting jealous. He didn't know how to feel about that. He always see [Y/N] speaking to other guys, to his friends, to their friends. He never got jealous around them. So why did he felt jealous now? Was it the way [Y/N] laugh at the guy's unfunny jokes? The smile he loved so much being seen by the bastard's own eyes? How their eyes shined with delight when the merchant compliment their outfits and looks, the same smile grew wider? Aether didn't like that. Not one bit. He wanted to make [Y/N] laugh to his stupid jokes. He wanted to see [Y/N]'s smile. He wanted to shower them with compliments and be the reason their smile grows wider. He didn't like it.
"Are you jealous?" Paimon asked, her eyes glanced down at her companion who had a hard glare sent towards the merchant who continued to pull [Y/N] into the conversation, drawing it out longer. He shook his head rapidly at the question.
"Wha-what? Jealous? No, I... I just want to get over with the commission, so that [Y/N] and I could go back hold." And spend time together, he wanted to add in but he would never hear the end of it from Paimon if he does. A rosy blush decorated his face, causing the traveler to look away from the floating companion. Paimon sent him a smug look, a small grin on her face.
"Hmm-mh, then why don't you go up there and tell [Y/N] it's time to go?" Paimon egged, hands on her waist as she floated around the young man's sight. Aether bit his lower lip. If he did went up there, he would feel bad for interrupting. [Y/N] clearly looked like they were enjoying themselves. But if he went up there, their attention would be pull back on him instead of the other guy. His eyes glanced back at the two, picking up on some flirtatious comments that [Y/N] failed to recognize as such. Aether wasn't one for being a flirt. Despite the amount of times Kaeya tried to teach him when he wanted to impress [Y/N]. It just didn't fit him too well.
With a sigh, Aether stood up from the bench. He wasn't jealous. He didn't mind [Y/N] speaking with the guy, even if deep within his aching, envy heart he clearly wanted all their attention to himself. And their affection. Their smile. Their laughter. He wanted it all. Such thoughts created a pout and with no acknowledge of it, the blonde traveler walked up to the other two, clearing his throat. The small frown was still on his face, the pout visible as the clear, evening sky above them.
"Oh, Aether! Hey!" [Y/N] greeted, turning their back on the merchant. They managed to notice the pout and frown on Aether's face before it vanish and instantly replace with a small smile.
"[Y/N], hi, I thought I'll let you know we still got one more commission to finish off." Aether said, ending it with a dry chuckle. The mention of the commissions made his partner's eyes widen a bit.
"Ah! Right!" Turning back to the merchant, [Y/N] smiled for a brief moment. "It seem I'll have to look at the items later in the near future." They stated with an apologetic expression, bowing their head a bit. The merchant waved at them dismissively with a laugh, not recognizing the glare Aether sent his way. Before the merchant could speak, Aether already took hold of [Y/N]'s wirst, beginning to drag them away from the stall.
"If we ever come back to Liyue, that is! So, goodbye for now! Thank you for the help!" Aether finished off for [Y/N], pulling them away from the stall. The [hair color] vision user waved at the man before letting Aether drag them away. As they continued to walk side by side, Aether's hand still linger around [Y/N]'s wirst, his grip a little tight around it but they didn't mind. Silence took over the atmosphere. There weren't many people busting the city like earlier before. There was still lives blooming around the streets of the harbor.
"Jealous, are we?" [Y/N] asked to break the silence, glancing over at the blonde with a brow raised as a smirk crossed their face. Aether blinked, feeling blood rushed to his face once more as he tried to stutter out an excuse for his behavior and shook his head in denial. His partner only chuckle at his reaction, uniting their hands together and sent him a gentle squeeze. "If it makes you feel less jealous, I'll be happy to shower you with my love and affection, kisses included." They teased, a wink sent towards Aether as his blush increased in color.
"Wha-wait! I'm not jealous!" He continued to deny, but [Y/N] already began to pull him towards an empty area outside of the harbor city where Aether received the attention he wanted badly despite his silly denials of his jealousy.

Like a mystery, the night held infinite uncertainty. The blanket of stars provided the comfort of light to bystanders bustling in the streets. Boisterous waves of laughter mingled with the notes of the viola, while at the same time, the patter of feet dances amongst the cobbled pavement as constant jeers chant words of ambition.
A short and stout plump man clambers on the wooden bar table, raising his pint of beer. "Vive la Fontaine!" He bawls. The swarm of drunkards mimics his gesture, laughably heaving their beers. Everyone adores the late-night festivities of celebrations. Conspicuously for a certain Princesse. All classes of the hierarchy were divulging on her 10th birthday. The common folk paraded in the streets, as the aristocrats partake in the Château. One devotee perched away from the horde, gripping his pint considerably tight. Resentment filled this man to the brim. His eyebrows creased at the carefree atmosphere while his teeth clenched vigorously. His unsettlingly deep brown eyes leered at the ripples of his beer. The Tavener in duty glanced at him, wary of his movements. "Are you not enjoying the night, Monsieur?" he questioned. The cloaked man remained mute, desire to be alone with his brooding. Having enough of the repulsive atmosphere, he pushed the tankard towards the barkeep while fishing out a couple of mora before slamming it against the hard surface.
The barkeep raised a brow at the mug, filled to the brim untouched. "What a waste," he thought, his pupils trailed on that particular individual crashing into other patrons, not until he reached the knob of the entry, but only to slam it vigorously. Not one person wavered at his little act but happily drank more to feeding their drunken state. Outside the Tavern, least people loiter around the city streets. Only the occasional hidden couple is kissing in a dim alleyway as some hasten their journey back to their cozy homes.
Fog swarm the night while the chilly air nipped his skin. In a straight line, rows of oil lamps lit up the murky mist. He begins his stride of pace out of the precinct, and after turning and turning, this section of the city became less active. Only sealed up windows and abandon property lived here. He was passing an unkempt park, with rust and weed growing on the deteriorating swing set. There assigned next to it was where the citizens worship their God. A once tall, beautiful structure is now a decaying building with the statues nation archon, sat in the middle of the courtyard as vines grew on the idol. The wind whistled loudly, fabricating a frightening aura to his personality. Trudging up the cathedral's steps, he swiftly entered the church, in the process of ramming the heavy entree.
Crash.
Shards of a porcelain marble bowl were scattered on the flooring. The heel of his leather shoe crunched against the broken pieces as he stationed himself in front of the altar. Pope Marquis Puissant. A once righteous man was loyal to Fontaine's God, now castaway for betraying the regality and abandonment of faith. A wicked man, they call him. Instead of the common holy word of the Archon, he was preaching of Ursa the Drake. A draconic creature that wasn't a God. That dragon, though it held an intense amount of power, enrapturing his attention. The local faithful became weary of his sudden turn on his faith which his reputation took a turn. Fewer attended the mass and begged the crown to disown him as a Pope. It was a late Sunday morning when the priesthood strips his power as a Vicar. In a rage, he stormed the Palace ground. "You're all nothing but halfwits blinded by power!" pointing at each, and of them, he cursed words of unpleasantries. "You wait, like this poor country excuse of a God, justice will be served."
Ever since then, he took shelter in a deserted church. Where there in the middle of the stone tablet laid a delusion. The Tsaritsa must have pitted the vengeful man, even if he's not part of the fatui. He will gladly serve two Gods. Now on the night of the beloved nation princess, Marquis will commence his revenge scheme, starting on the birthday girl.
"Higher Papa!" a giggle of chortle escape the young girl's lips. The man twirling her oblige, raising her higher in the air to the beat of the ensemble's melody. The puffy maroon gown fitted around her petite body, while the style of her long white hair swayed with every movement. The (e/c) pierced her fathers, carrying mirth of cheekiness. Sitting on the throne mirrored with the same features of the Princess sat a kind queen, with soft eyes smiling at the ridiculous scene of her daughter's ambitions. "Look at my beautiful Granddaughter." grey-haired, tied in a tight bun with a crown, sat snugly on her head. The Grand-mère watched the ballroom flock in high spirit. However, it was the girl that danced with her Father that held all that energy. "Have the Ragnvindr's arrive yet?" she questioned, looking at her daughter. "Not that I'm aware of Mother, but you should stop inquiring for rare alcohol from Master Crepus." "It's not my fault that the family makes splendid wine" The elderly woman hid her smile behind her gloved hand. "Besides, it's the offspring I'm after," they watched (y/n) grinned at her son-in-law, ruffling the girl's hair. "A charming man, with a charming boy. Don't you agree?" The queen let out a sigh at her Mother's antics.
"Grand-mère!" a small cheer escape (y/n). Pulling the layers of cloth, she began to hurry to the pair leaving her Father on the dance floor. Spreading her arms, the elderly accepted her hug and began smothering with small kisses on her round cheeks; her granddaughter laughed. "Look at you, my little lumière. All grown up," she squished her cheeks together, holding tenderness behind her blue eyes. "Now that I'm ten, you're going to teach me how to play poker! Right?" Tiptoeing closer to her, she held the throne seat, giddy of the thought. Her Mother stared at the child and Grandmother in disbelief. Chuckling nervously, she patted her hair. "Maybe wait until you're coming of age." (Y/N) pouted at her answer, leaving her explanation unreasonable. "But I do have a little gift for you instead." Grabbing the tiny Princess's palm, placing a red leather ring box. In a rush, the child swiftly opened the present. A gasp emitted from her. "Oh, Grand-mère! It's beautiful!" (Y/N) cried. A simple golden chain sat in the cushion, with the same colored ore boldly gleaming in the middle. "Together in Fontaine," reading out loud as she deciphers the cursive writing. The two grinned at each other as her Grandmother help put the necklace together around her. "When you wear this, think of an old woman who loves you very, very much." (Y/N) nodded at her words, directing her attention to the lockets words—hugging her once more.
"Your majesty," a rich and velvety tone interrupts the tranquility. "Master Crepus," the aging regal announced. A tall, aristocratic gentleman with charm greeted the family. His attire consisted of a simple charcoal black two-piece suit, and the tie he was sporting matched his fiery red hair. A handsome man he was. "Finally declaring your arrival, it seems." she teased. (Y/N) gape at the lord, intimidated by his scarlet hooded eyes. "Apologies, I was struggling to convince my son to attend the party." Crepus sighed. "Is this the boy you took in? Kaeya was it?" The ensemble's melody began a new tune as she glanced at her associate.
“attentive as ever, your majesty." The older woman smirk at his reply, "when you reached a certain age, you recall every little detail." He let out a deep laugh only after he shakes his head. "Diluc was the one who managed to drag him." "Ah, the little Crepus did it?" "Indeed, he promised that he wouldn't abandon him during the party." Their eyes trailed over to a smaller version of the man, who was currently dragging a bashful blue-haired boy across the room. "That little ball of light does have his ways."
(Y/N) fidget on her spot, feeling increasingly uninterested in the adult's discussions. Aware of her actions, Crepus near the girl and kneeled. "Happy Birthday, your highness." Only to pass his present for her. She lightened up at the gift and hugged it."Thank you, my lord." she smiled at his action while showing a missing tooth in the middle of her teeth. "You must be bored just listening to us old people talk," he spoke. Standing straight, he called to the pair of boys. The bubbly red-haired boy was the first to respond, pulling his brother behind him. The Grand-mère scanned Crepus prized possessions; the boy replenish with enthusiasm did take after his Father. The same color hair, all down to his features. While his adopted brother next to him possessed blue hair and sapphire eyes. Though it was the eyepatch that caught her attention, she raised a brow but didn't question. It was like comparing them to the sun and moon.
"Your highness," The boy greeted as his brother mimic his actions muttering the same sentence. "This is Diluc and Kaeya" Crepus put both of his hands on both children's shoulders. (Y/N) looked at them with awe; she has never come across with blazing hot and cold calm hair. She ponders wanting those colors rather than her dull white hair. "It is an honor to be in your presence," Diluc address. "My, what a sophisticated son you raised." The women applaud. "That's Diluc for you." The group laughs at the small tease. The bold child reached the girl and stared. Uneasy, she dug her hands into the gown, afraid to look at Diluc. "You have pretty eyes," he said, still gazing. (Y/N) blushed at his compliment. "I like you and your brother's hair!" she returned—Kaeya observes behind his adoptive Father's legs, envious of his brother's daring personality. As the two new friends converse, he felt the older man nudge him towards the pair. "Don't be shy now, Kaeya."
As Kaeya approach the Princess and his brother, the girl let out a gasp. "Your eyes have stars!" she inspected closer, now flusters with her bold move. She kept rambling on waves of compliments towards Kaeya. Diluc giggled at the discomposed Kaeya and band in with more teasing. The child lifts his dark hands in defense, trying to calm them. Maybe it was better to stay back at the lodge.
"What's under your eyepatch?"
Kaeya stiffens at her direct question. All of a sudden, the air thickens, and the ambiance of unsettlement quickly replaces the mood. "(Y/N)," her grandmother warns. At once, she felt guilty at her grandmother's tone and the dismal Kaeya. "It's nothing," he whispers. The reflection of his face that the marble flooring held became more interesting. "I'm sorry." tears gathered at the corner of her eyes. She feverishly struggles to hold back the tears, surprising the two boys. "Ah, Princess, don't cry," Diluc reassures, hastily stop her tears with his tie. "But I made him sad! What PrincessPrincess does that to her people!!" Shutting her vision, and her gloves gripped tightly, feeling the harsh material. Diluc looked at both disheartened children; at that moment, he suddenly felt restless. "It's alright, Kaeya doesn't mind that question, right?" looking at his brother for support, he nodded at his words. Then softly smiling at her.
"Don't worry," he whispered.
The girl gape at him then mirrored his smile. Childish laughter once again replaces their sadness. "Princess, even though we live in another nation, the Ragnvindr's will always aid you," Crepus informed. "Yes! Kaeya and I will be your royal knights when you visit Mondstadt." Diluc hooked his arm under Kaeya while puffing his chest proudly. (Y/N) clapped her hands at his proclamation, "But Diluc were not knights yet." his older brother stiffen. "Maybe wait in five years."
The night crowd with freedom. Not one complained or did the fun died down. The triplex of kids, hanging around each other, and befit on being close friends. This night was the most fun the little Princess had as she watches Diluc tease Kaeya again. However, the night holds infinite uncertainty.
An instant gasp and the shatter of a wine glass caused a halt in the ballroom. The music ceased as a gust of wind expelled the chandelier candles. The cloaked man sauntered his way past the frightened crowd, clapping his hand in slow motion. He let out a deep laugh, approaching the family that strips away his power. "How dare you return to the palace!" The king spoke brashly, pushing his daughter behind. (Y/N) shook in fear, watching the mad man plastered a demented smile at her. "But I'm your confidant," he exclaimed. "Confidant? Ha! You are a traitor to Fontaine!" "Get out!"
"You think you can banish me? Pope Marquis Puissant!" he steps closer to him, hiding his delusion in his cloak. As (Y/n) was watching, she felt a slight tug pulling away from them. Diluc stood in front of her, furrowing his small brow. "By the holy power given by the Tsaritsa and Ursa, I'll banish you and your family with a curse!" The chamber gasp at his comment. "Mark my word I will not rest until I see the end of the Rousseau!" Bring out his power; he directed his attack toward the king. A shriek was let out from the queen as he shut his eye tightly, anticipating the attack.
"(Y/N)!"
The Grand-mère cried, flinging herself out of her throne. All eyes direct their attention towards Diluc; he didn't feel the girl's hand. Turning around, she was gone. "What did you do to my daughter!" Her Father roared. Marquis laughed and grinned, not saying a word. "Guards, get him!" he ordered to the once holy man. Laughing again, more mist gathered quickly in the ballroom; as the guard's closed onto him, fire circled his figure, preventing them from entering. The blaze grew quicker; Crepus felt Kaeya stiffen in his arm, watching the delusion in Marquis's hand. The windows exploded in one motion, making the room more in a frenzy while the wind blew harsher. Diluc, in rage, ran towards him. "Diluc, no!" Crepus warned, however, as he passed the flames and mist, he was gone.
The only ashes and embers replace his spot. Marquis was far gone, along with the Princess. "Quickly close all the borders! I don't want anyone leaving Fontaine!" The distraught Father ordered. " I want every house to be searched, every church, alleyway and caves checked!" "Whatever you do, find the Princess and Marquis!". Tears of despair escape the Mother and Grandmother crying for the kidnapped daughter. Diluc silently stood there watching the embers die down.
The once festive night took a turn into a nightmare.
