world record - current frogs
Frog species with special functions, such as Burst Frogs and Sphere Frogs, have been used for a long time in summoning magic to strengthen and synthesize units.
In the past, they lived in large numbers in both Elgaia and Grand Gaia, but with the rise of summoning magic following the development of ASH, they were hunted in large numbers, and are now rarely seen in the wild. A few years ago they became an endangered species.
Nowadays, they are considered precious creatures, and several species are strictly protected by the Deelopment Bureau's RND Division.
As for the Sphere Frog, through research into summoning techniques, it became standard practice to be able to equip multiple spheres on a unit by evolving it, so that basic problem was solved.
For Burst Frogs, units are now able to improve the performance of their Brave Burst by gaining actual combat experience through research into summoning techniques, but it's still far from efficient. There was still a high demand for Frogs. The RND Division conducted extensive research into extracting the essence of the ingredient that increases the skill effect of Burst Frog's magic, and was successful.
Afterwards, they made a material called a Burst Cookie, which artificially obtains the strengthening effect of several Burst Frogs from an extremely small amount of essence. Due to the enormous research and development costs involved and the price of creating them, Burst Cookies are expensive and are sold in exchange for Gems at the Summoner's Hall Shop in Imperial Capital Randall.
They're called cookies because they look similar in shape to the real thing. They're not harmful to humans when eaten, but they bestow the person no particular effects, and they're not that tasty.
The Burst Frog stamped on the surface is an expression of the researchers' gratitude towards the frogs.

Flori looked up. “Hello. I don’t say I know a lot about flowers.” he gazed at the lily. “That’s a lily. A wonderful flower. If it’s correctly picked up you can plant it in the ground and with a bit of luck it’ll be deeloping new roots.” Flori thpught a little bit, while starring at the lily. “May I have it? It’s a lily I don’t have in my garden. You can get a rose as exchange, if you want.”
