Prismonarch Nimis: Where Do They Fit In?

The infamous video of Excessa has finally been posted which means we can finally discuss the star host in more detail and start making specific inferences on their effects on the story.

WARNING: This post contains detailed spoilers for AD’s update posted June 24th, you have been warned.

Prismonarch Nimis and Sound Master Byte

They’re the same person.

Both Nimis and Byte have been theorised to be the star host, so seeing them “together” is strange, but all the evidence just points to a ‘double life’ situation. After some discussion with other theorists, Nimis is most likely a last name meaning “excessive”, which means if they (byte and nimis) are separate people, the Prismonarch is definitely the host of gluttony. Erios is still likely the first name of the star host, and Byte is clearly just a stage name.

The Prismonarch on their own has also been shown to have star shaped eyes, though their design makes it difficult to tell where in the possession stage they are. In the image below, we can see Prismonarch Nimis’s eyes clear as day. Typically in hosts, the pupils are the part with the shape/colour, and coloured pupils mean possession.

More evidence for them being the same person is the original silhouette of the Star host being this (below), which matches perfectly to Nimis’s hair, yet now that we’ve seen Byte, they are the one replacing the silhouette. The star being the outline of the picture also means that whoever is revealed in this place is the star host. 

The stage after possession of a host is waiting for them to make a pact with their demon, which there is no way of knowing if Nimis has. Green skin is strange, but Gil naturally has blue skin and we have no reference point of what Nimis might’ve used to look like. Therefore we can’t make any predictions on if they’ve made a pact or not with Gluttony. (Speaking of which, I can’t wait to meet more demons.)

Maggie And Erios

It’s been an expectation for a while that Maggie will not get along with Erios at first but will eventually grow to like them. An interesting twist in that tale can be made now though, under the assumption that Erios is living a double life. 

Due to the “prism-” prefix being so common and the amount of triangle/pyramid designs in Excessa, it’s safe to assume that when Maggie arrives she will be (to some extent) idolised. Potentially even by the Prismonarch themself, Erios Nimis. If that is the case, Maggie will likely enjoy the attention and become fond of Nimis. On the other side of things, though, she will probably have a distaste for how loud and wild Byte is, which will be an interesting scene whenever it’s revealed that these two people are the same person.

Bonus Thing (about my last post)

In my last post I mention how Byte has titan-like bandages on their neck and torso which obscures all of their skin. Along with the helmet, Byte is able to maintain complete anonymity through all of the coverage. I wanted to make a follow up point to this regard because I had initially thought they were a high ranking TiTAN follower, but I think Byte wraps the bandages themself to maintain this anonymous disguise, since their naturally green skin is very recognisable. The TiTAN thing might just be a coincidence, but it also could be that Byte is pretending to be a high ranking follower just for the perks that come with it. 

(After all, their performance at the party is being sponsored by TiTAN; it’s never a bad idea to stay on his good side.)

Some things I noticed in the Ava’s Demon update (it’s good to be back)

The first thing I noticed is the Nimis fellow! The first thing I noticed is that he looks awfully like the old silhouette for star host before the update, and he even has star-shaped eyes! Despite this, Sound Master Byte seems to be the true star host, as shown by the updated cast picture:

Don’t know about you guys, but I can only come to one conclusion: Prismonarch Nimis and Sound Master Byte are the same dude. I can think of two scenarios regarding the circumstances of this double life:

1. Being Sound Master Byte is sort of just a side thing for Nimis, and everyone on Excessa of Nimis knows that they’re the same person, and Nimis is just so full of himself he makes an announcement video for his own birthday. While this would be hilarious, I doubt this is very likely.

2. He’s leading a secret double life, a la Hannah Montana. Perhaps he didn’t like all the responsibilities of royalty and decided to secretly become a musician? But since he’d probably still want a cushy life as a musician, he still gave himself ties to the royal family, by having him perform at stuff like his own birthday party.

The second thing I wanna point out is Tchiptune. What exactly is it? It seems to be a Tamagotchi-esque thing in his helmet.

...It’s almost like it’s implied the things in his head, don’t you think?

What if Tchiptune is Sound Master Byte’s host, somehow turned into an AI of some sort? Or maybe it’s just some technology that makes the host able to communicate with the outside world via his helmet? The story is already a healthy mix of sci-fi and fantasy, so I’d say it’s plausable! (This theory I admittedly have slightly less confidence in, but I thought it would still be worth bringing up.)

Finally, I just thought I’d bring up Nimis’ portrait itself! And one thing I noticed is the large amounts of triangles! It’s his portrait frame, in a way, there are a bunch of tiny ones surrounding him...

He’s even making a triangle with his hands! iLlUmInAtI cOnFiRmEd Seems to be more hints that he’s going to be connected to Maggie somehow!

Anyway, that’s it for now. I might make another post where I might analyze this a bit more, and maybe talk about Nimis’ name (since it’s implied to be Erios Nimis) and maybe even look at the songs at that playlist Michelle made for stardude and see if I can figure out what his character might be like.

Meeting Heart Host sooner than we think?

Hi, so, I've been thinking a lot about this, and we don't have a lot of information on Excessa, but due to the nature of it I've been wondering if we're gonna end up meeting the Heart host sooner than we think.We know that our last few hosts we have to meet are Gluttony, Sloth, and Greed. We've theorized pretty solidly that Veevra Avrice will be the greed host based on name alone, but also process of elimination. We can easily see that Erios Nimis will be our Gluttony host - The green skin and star matching the green vial with the tooth, representing Gluttony, their name meaning "Love Excess", the delivery of sugary snacks on empty cargo ships for a party of the ages - it's indulgence central in Excessa.

Technically Veevra is our "process of elimination pick" because there's one more host we can say for certainty what they are - and that's the Heart Host as Sloth. We know from the vials and the panel of Wrathia mixing them (page 168 - a LONG time ago!) that Heart is represented in a Pink color, which matches the vial with what can be assumed to be a sleeping pill. Now, knowing this, we've seen one character in the comic so far with these motifs - the gaming avatar of "angelicpurr" that Olai was playing an MMO with (2432, 2433, 2436, 2438). In fact, if you zoom in close enough on page 2436, you can see an avatar next to the chat window of a figure with cat ears and a hairstyle that could easily match the cast image for the Heart Host with more detail, along with what looks to be a princess-style dress.

Now, what leads me to believe we might see the Heart host sooner than we think? Well, it's pretty simple - Excessa is an entertainment planet of indulgence about to throw a giant party for a member of royalty. Heart host has a few royal motifs (crown, princess dress in icon). Most royalty have multiple servants to do their bidding, and for a Host with a Sloth demon that's pretty much paradise. While evidence that Heart Host is royalty is debatable at best (look at when we met Odin, for instance) we do know that them playing a game called "TITANFantasy Online" using Titan tech, we can assume they're a follower of some caliber - ranging from Maggie and Ava on a reeducation planet to Gil's "devoted for life", but given the nature of the sin of Sloth, I'm leaning more towards the former. 

Now, the reason I even thought of this is because Erios Nimis and their Soundmaster Byte alter-ego reminds me of video-game avatars, especially with the Tamagotchi motif. We don't yet know if his double life status is well known or not, but if it is, I suspect it could be seen as the more "cool" option to represent yourself as a funky alter-ego, rather than as yourself, much like a video game avatar. As mentioned, Excessa could be paradise for a Sloth-demon bearing host, and while a party isn't a "lounge about and do nothing" opportunity, it is certainly a "have fun" one, and who's to say we couldn't run into other followers during this event? Being a party sponsored by Titan, it's even possible Veevra Avrice or even Strategos and Taxiarch could arrive. The last three are certainly a long shot, but not impossible.

Regardless of if we run into the Heart Host or not, I'm looking forward to see what Erios and the demon that accompanies them has to offer in this arc. I've been reading this comic for a very, very long time and I've always been excited to see where it goes next.

has anyone translated the Excessan language in Ava’s Demon? I’m so deeply curious about the latest update and the previews we’ve been getting of both how this language with star-shape based characters can translate to graffiti as well

Just a theory of what’s gonna happen in the near future

Gev and Fira are gonna go to Fira’s home planet, which happens to be Excessa of Nimis, the same planet the gang are going to. Gev ends up seeing Gil and reports his presence there to TITAN. They somehow run into Star Host/Erios as well. Maybe even the Crescent Host/Veevra will be sent to retrieve the gang too.

As a bonus, perhaps Excessa of Nimis is the next target on the Scavengers’ hitlist, which leads to Olai (and perhaps the Heart Host as well) visiting that planet to see what fun stuff he can do before the planet blows up. This would also give the Star Host/Erios the motivation to join Ava, since I’m guessing Excessa of Nimis is his home planet as well.
