But omg their story, yes! They DO have one - albeit it's still very rough - but essentially their story is about Saoirse rescuing Llyr from evil forest creatures that killed his campaign that were seeking to bring their religion to "purify" said evil forest, and now they're on a quest to bring him home while avoiding other creatures (and developing a mating bond along the way heehee...)

Saoirse's arc very much centers on her sense of identity as a woman turned into a dragon beast, and how she struggles to know WHO and WHAT she is and how it affects her sense of self worth (which is nonexistent lol)... also her being conflicted with her attraction to Llyr because she doesn't know how much of it is the genuine human emotion she craves and how much of it is dragon mating instinct. Also SEVERE abandonment issues as her village sacrificed her to the evil spirits of the forest years ago soooooooooo😔💔

Llyr, meanwhile, is centered on feeling betrayed after realizing his religion was a lie and seeing the humanity in nature he was taught to dominate and fear, as grim as it may be, and how his kingdom's religion is a facade over the brutality of it's conquest of the natural world around it.☝🤓

Saoirse is just super stoic and silent at first because boo vulnerability and revisiting the past, and Llyr doesn't trust her because uhhhhh a dragon lady hybrid that is capable of intelligent thought??? but also has no one else to turn to if he hopes to return home and yeeeaaaahhhhhhhhhh, and he calls her "dragon-maiden' yeahhhhh🥺
