Hey @maribunart  Merry Calibration!!  how could I _not_ choose your adorable hearthcat-loving cinnamon roll of a Dragonblooded??? I love Kilani and I am so happy for the chance to draw her!! Tried to give her a quiet moment enjoying a delicious beverage with two hearth-cat buddies to keep her company.  I hope you like it <3 This is watercolor & colored pencil on hotpress watercolor paper, about 8x10 finished area, and if you want the original I’m happy to mail it to the address of your choice!  so sorry for making you and @shiftingpath sweat with my sliding-up-to-the-deadline near lateness! 😬

Exalted Secret Santa Journal: 2022 Edition!✨

I disappeared from the universe last year, but im back for another one babey! Here comes a journal that's basically the same as every year whoooooo! Do you like Lunars? This bad boy can fit so much Lunars. (same journal essentially as always, anon is on if you end up needing to ask me any questions. Also courtesy tag for @shiftingpath 💕 )

1.) Jumping Rabbit of The North, or “Bunny”. Really pretty, really really stupid, Rabbit Lunar. A huge idiot but you just can’t help but love her anyway. There isn’t even one thought behind those eyes. Picture reference for her is drawn by @fiontan here, and another by @shiftingpath from two years ago here! 2.) Jaevan. Snow leopard totem. He’s witty, laidback and loves travel, loves the snow and can’t stand the heat. His lover is a solar called Mat’chai, and he is the goofy opposite of her stoic seriousness. Picture reference drawn by @fiontan here! And also from two years ago by @akaittou here!

3.) Pale Claw Of The Rainbow, otherwise known as Lou! A child Lunar with a Parrot totem! She’s hyper, loud, and a rotten little thief. She’s always accompanied by her little pet white mouse friend, Oranges. Please excuse the Worst reference in the history of the universe (I scratched it out back in 2011 and have yet to update it but it’s the best I got sobs), but here’s some old art of her here! (And a much much better beautiful Lou from three years ago, and the year before by @keirangoldenwatch here and @colonelkepler here!)

That art is oldish because i disappeared for a good long while, but for some good examples of my own art, here’s my art tag here! Imagine if I ever would do some work and get some of my poor forgotten other characters into this list. Ah welllll. Enjoy Lunar city in the mean time! Love you, secret santa!

Wyld Skinner (He/Him) Hardy barbarian full moon lunar with a desire for the North to achieve independence, while wielding a massive hammer. Polar bear totem and war form. Mostly in opposition with undead forces. Sees family as a sacred bond, and will defend it any time it is threatened or abused (this includes found family). Gets knocked down a lot, but no one can stop him from getting up again. Warstrider pilot to a moonsilver machine named Grim. Bear jaws roaring anima.

Pretty Boy (He/Him) Tricksy changing moon lunar diplomat. Parrot totem. Wants to avoid war in the West at any cost. 4 dot appearance and he knows it - insanely jealous of the 5 dot hotties. Talents include talking, sailing, and crafting. If he must engage in combat, moulds all the metal on his person together into a simple melee weapon. Constantly changes his appearance to suit his mood. Downpour of rainbow feathers anima. Main skills: Socialize, Craft, Dodge.

Mystic Veil (He/They) Tsundere joy bringer sidereal. Doesn't have to be nice when he's off the clock. Certainly not most people's cup of tea. Very curt and harsh, but it's not like he wants to be friends or anything (baka). Uses his talents to inspire the downtrodden to better their situations. Joy is most needed in the darkness, go ask someone else to plan your fancy party. No nonsense, lover of tea, classical music and art. Butterfly wings and ribbons anima. Main skills: Performance, Presence, Occult.

Feel free to get creative! I'm always happy to see alternate outfits, characters drawn together, genderbending, exalted type swap and colour changes (but please no white washing). So long as its all releatively SFW!

Calibration is upon us, which means the Exalted Secret Santa is nigh! I'm offering two different flavors of Kalara this year - Solar vs Abyssal! Check out the details behind the cut.

Kalara Vadras, The Uncrucified Solar Exalted, Eclipse Caste, Righteous Devil

A passionate Merchant Prince (though most people refer to her as a 'Merchant Queen'), Kalara can often be found traveling Creation using her charm and wit towards the cause of achieving a more equitable economy and the abolishment of slave labor throughout the threshold.

While she has a friendly public face, her enemies whisper of her spy network, Kalara's "Tongues", who work quietly throughout Creation eliminating threats to her ambitions for Creation.

Art Notes

She has a scar from a failed crucifixion on her left hand only, not both hands

NSFW art is ok! She's quite famous for her tastes in brothels and being a free spirit with multiple unattached partners, but please nothing too hardcore into chains. This lady likes luxury. Tis silk or nothing!

Fashion

Feel free to play with her hair and clothing style without sticking too close to the ref. Kalara mixes things up a lot to either blend in on her travels OR to make a big impression, depending on the occasion. She's quite the fashionista! Note that in her art she's dressed in everything from a Chiaroscuro glass gown to more casual wear with her green shirt. The look with the teal and gold with the jacket resting on her shoulders is her signature look, however.

Iconic Anima

Her totemic anima involves chains of sunlight wrapping around her arms and ankles as the links fall off one by one. Spikes of sunlight, which do not harm her, appear in her hands and melt away. Behind her, a phoenix with a long, trailing tail rises up behind her.

Weapons & Combat Style

Kalara prefers not to let others onto the fact that she's as powerful as she is and has created a whole other persona named Koh to do her gunslinging. She and Koh are rumored to be lovers, much to her amusement.

However, if she's ever backed into a corner as Kalara, her fighting style involves acrobatic agility while dual-wielding two Prayer Pieces made of jade and orichalcum with the punishing glory of the Righteous Devil martial art.

The Crucified Dreamer Abyssal Exalted, Moonshadow Caste, Deathknight of the Lover

This alternate universe version of Kalara spends her time wandering Creation nurturing revolutionaries and visionaries...then leading them to their beautiful deaths after they follow her pursuing their foolish dreams. Those she finds useful, she scouts as possible servants for her Deathlord, The Lover Clad in the Raiment of Tears.

Unlike Kalara, the Dreamer was never saved from her death by crucifixion by The Unconquered Sun. Rather, the Lover came to her in her final moments after a torturous three days and nights and offered her a chance to equalize all in the embrace of death.

Her full name is The Crucified Dreamer Veiled in Truth.

Art Notes

The Dreamer has crucifixion wounds in both hands and both feet that never heal. She tends to 'dress them up' with jewelry and henna.

NSFW art is ok! She's very BDSM-themed as-is. You know she gets up to some kinky vampire stuff!

Fashion

The Dreamer prefers gold and finery usually with a subtle skeletal theme. Gold, fire opals, and garnets suit her well. The three tears below her eye, however, are not makeup, but etched by blood ink into her skin when the Lover 'welcomed' her as an Abyssal. They traced the last tears she would ever shed.

Weapons & Combat Style

The Dreamer doesn't usually engage in direct combat, much preferring to seduce her victims, but if she is driven to conflict, she utilizes the Laughing Wounds martial art, a set of bejeweled claws, and a segmented whip sword with a blade like sharp gold vertebra as it unfurls.

I have no references for her whip sword or battle claws yet, so go wild with your interpretation!

Iconic Anima

The Dreamer's aura flares as her crucifixion wounds seep streams of blood that form tendrils and wrap around her arms and legs. The blood also pours to the earth where scarlet Spider Lilies spring up from the droplets. Behind her, a glowing red mandala materializes with the lotus pointed downwards.

I have no reference of this anima yet, so feel free to go wild with your interpretation from that description!

How the fuck is it December already???

Anywho, let's go!

I'm putting up the party Lunars for the art-ing this year--since Seren got such lovely art last year! They're both great characters and I adore them, so I look forward to whichever of them gets picked!

Theron Ruinseeker - No Moon Caste, Toad Totem - Necromancer Tomb-Raider

Theron Ruinseeker, birth name Theron Freeborn, was the son of slaves in Great Forks whose intelligence got the attention of the noble class. After a successful career in the House of Lore, he and his entire graduating class were trapped in a horrible haunted tomb that killed everyone but him, and his survival earned Luna's blessing. He's become much more cautious--and guilt ridden--in the following years, but at least he's got a perfectly safe and sane bondmate to make things better...or not.

Neiko Whisperstep - Half Moon Caste, Tabby Cat Totem - Firewander's Feline Thief

Born on the streets of Nexus' least forgiving sector, Neiko found a gang of thieves who were happy to take her in and teach her the tools of trade. Even though she never lived an easy life she still loved her gang, and the thrill of robbing the nobles wasn't too bad either. But one poor heist got her caught by a Guildsman and nearly sold into slavery, and she barely escaped by the skin of her teeth. Her escape her earned Luna's blessing--and a fluffy tail. She and her gang are still thieves, but she's brought the party to Great Forks to follow her bondmate, and to perhaps find something in her life beyond robbing the rich.

They're both such good babies. I love them both. Enjoy!~

Exalted Secret Santa 2022

To my Exalted Secret Santa this year, I’m offering up the choice of Kaveri Shendo the Night Caste, or her circle mate, Rook the Twilight. 

Kaveri is tall and slender with minimal curves, and wears her dark red hair in a long braid. Her skin is a warm mid-tone and her eyes are blue. She wears a grey short jacket with the sleeves rolled up, and matching grey pants, with a purple halter top underneath the jacket. On her feet, she wears knee-high perfected boots with orichalcum plating on the shins. For more information, and more image references, check HERE.

Rook is a former rice farmer who’s now a terrifyingly adept inventor, engineer and sorcerer. He’s got fairer skin than Kaveri, short spiky black hair, and blue eyes. He wears simple peasant clothing under a flawless white robe that he sometimes wears open, and sometimes loosely belts closed. For more information, and more image references, check HERE.
