Sent out with a mission, a honedge floats toward Ree with a small rectangular box held in its sash. It hands it over ever so carefully, watching Ree with its single, curious eye. Inside, the box has a small rainbow assortment of fruit-flavored Kalosian candies — both gummies and hard candies, it seems. Pinned to the top of the box is an invitation to the castle where Wikstrom holds regular training events. The back of the invitation has a hand-written letter. 

Champion Reese —

Should the need arise for pursuit of further training for thy team, I, Wikstrom of the Kalos Elite Four, offer the service. I have trained many of your similar rank and honor, both in battle and in bonding with their pokemon. Should you accept, worry not of accommodations in Kalos, for the castle is open for you to come and go as you please. A trainer such as yourself has boundless opportunity, and I, for one, shall be cheering you on throughout your career!

They didn’t expect anything like this. Ree accepts the box and offers a handful of pokebeans to the ghost Pokémon — after all, he deserves a treat !!! — before turning the box over. They’ve never had anything like this before. It seems like a rich person sort of candy.

the letter sort of … makes their chest twinge. Nobody really ever calls them champion, because, well, even if they won the world tournament, they still lost the league where the champion title really hits hard …

and that final line …

it’s really nice, but Ree is pretty goddamn certain if they try to step in kalos, Lysandre will kill them.

It’s really nice though. Wow. Ree’s only met this guy a couple of times and they were kinda scared of him but he’s really … nice???

T’was a delight to meet you, and I send this with sincere gratitude for thy enthusiasm to experience the games. I am well aware that after the jousts I tend to be quite winded and unable to properly express thanks — so I wish to be certain you knew that I did, indeed, appreciate thy words.

The box that accompanies the letter isn't too large — but it's wrapped in silver paper and tied off with a blue ribbon. Inside, the candies are separated by silver paper, a small collection of chocolate and hard candy. The hard candies look to be made in the shape of klefki… Or as closely as they can be, given how small and delicate they are.

@exagides has stolen her heart already...

Having spent such brief time in Kalos couldn't have been the same without having met quite an amazing person, someone she immediately found quite amazing from day one; one that could show her the wonders of a different culture, a different region. Oh, how different it all was in comparison to Johto. His interest already made her heart flutter. Oh, no, today the focus is on what she first saw as a real knight; someone who stood with honor, with pride, showing the best of what those festivals can offer. How could she deny talking to him after reading for years of his skills? Not only as an Elite Four, of course...

And Melinoë thought their meeting could've ended there as soon as she had to return, so the gift presents so suddenly, for once leaving a smile on her face as she eyes the sweets and reads the letter over and over again. Her frame rests on the office chair as she sighs, completely starstruck by the love and effort he's put in those words, hands grabbing a piece of candy that she so indulgently enjoys, remembering his charming attitude, how kind he was...

Perhaps a small vacation in Kalos doesn't sound that bad now. Sir Wikstrom has made her truly admire something so important to the region's history. Perhaps his company in the future doesn't sound that bad. After all, he's nothing but real chivalry — the one anyone would fall for.

A carefully penned letter rests on top of a closed, hinged box. It’s large enough to hold a considerable item — or items.

Champion Calem —

Never forget how far you’ve come in thy journey to becoming who you are! Thy heart is strong and valiant, and you and thy pokemon are deserving of the title you have claimed. Always the doors of the castle are open to you, whether it be for training or simply for a place to stay. As for the season, it is tradition in my family to share in such things as baked or handmade items, and you are quite deserving to partake as well. 

Hopefully you enjoy these — and feel free to share them with your companions, both human and pokemon.

The box, once opened, contains a dozen carefully handmade profiteroles. Each one has a different colored filling, made with different berries of various flavors. They’re meticulously placed within paper cups, nested into waxed paper and the bright blue interior of the box.

The box had been left at Calem’s chamber in the league building, and as such he found it right as he walked into the room for his daily training session. That’s different, he thought, as he walked towards it to give it a closer look and started reading the letter on top.

So this is from Wikstrom, huh…?

Oh wow, that’s so nice of him! Calem’s really touched by the gift, and as he inspects its contents he takes note of how nice those snacks look. He’s definitely gonna share them with his Pokémon as well as his boyfriend when he gets back home (and hoard the rest to himself because he can be a little greedy sometimes).

But also, he’s gonna locate Wikstrom and give him a big hug!

Drayton of Blueberry Academy's Elite Four —

From one elite four to another — should you ever find yourself in Kalos, I do hope you will visit the league and take up the challenge here. If not, then still I offer a friendly bout for the sport of it, or some time at the castle grounds! For now, my letter comes with some Kalosian wares for you and your Elite Four companions to share. Packed in a rather sizable box is a collection of store-bought Kalosian snacks — it seems they've been picked with the intent to have a large variety, both savory and sweet. The only handmade item seems to be a set of five honedge shaped hard candies on sticks — likely too fragile to sword fight with, but still rather cute.

What the hell...

A formal challenge from a professional Elite Four League? That's crazy to him. But even crazier was the snack box he received. He'd never really had snacks from Kalos before. The labeling was in their native language so he couldn't make heads or tails of the ingredients list. But it all looked tasty.

"Oh man... Am I gonna have to send a thank you box back?"

That seemed like a lot of work. But he was sure his grandpa would give him so much shit if he ignored this very thoughtful gift.

"Man... I didn't even realize that the BB League was well-known enough to warrant this..."
