ultimately i think the appeal of daniel and armand to me is that it's very much a typical dark romance storyline where the heroine is kidnapped and tortured by an evil monster but using her wits she manages to seduce him and make him emotionally vulnerable to her, because she is More Special and More Clever than all of his other victims, and because of this she enjoys a level of dangerous favor and protection from him, except in This version of the dark romance it's two toxic old men who both have the worst fucking personalities imaginable. who truly just fucking suck beyond measure. like no pun intended, they are Garbage, one is the actual literal immortal devil and the other is just kind of a deadbeat with no moral compass, neither of them is willing to work on himself and neither of them has ANY reason to want to rail the other as bad as they do.

Y'know what. Everyone really made me think Hazbin Hotel was the worst most problematic show ever with how ppl were talking about it.

I watched it and it was nowhere near as bad as anyone was saying??? Its ok actually, if the pacing was better I'd almost call it good. I personally don't find a lot of the jokes funny either, just not my humor. The music at least is fucking fantastic.

The complaints about the artsyle and character designs kinda just remind me of the same arguments people had against Steven Universe ngl and that sort of thing is subjective anyway, a lot of it comes off as people complaining cause they already didn't like the show and have to shit on it more. Yeah sure everyone got that onceler look and I wish there was more variety but it's not the worst thing ever.

Yeah it's an adult cartoon that's a little cringe and handles some things not so great but most hate I've read about it wasn't even true or it's just people wanting to complain about everything cause they already decided the show was bad.

I will finish off saying the creator sucks ass and is a piece of shit so I pirated the show she's not getting any money outta me

I had a dream today where the sorry boys were making a vid where they rp as high school students (like the ones in 2000's nickelodeon/high school musicals) but what they didn't know was that Jacksepticeye had kidnapped Ranboo, locked him in a glass box and made him raise a piglet and be in a pig's family (like they were supposed to accept that the piglet's mom was their wife and the piglet was their son)

the other sorry boys didn't know that he was kidnapped and thought he was just busy/late, so while they're chilling in class waiting for him, Ranboo was raising a pig family and thinking of ways to escape

So... for the baby storyline they wasted s5 for, in which Marina wasn't even the focus, now they seemed to be assigned whatever that's leftover with an abbreviated and accelerated arc. Necessary conversations and private intimate moments of celebration are omitted. An excited kiss after a major life decision is yet again physically obstructed, now at a 10pm timeslot. The very brief exchange was the result of deliberate choices made starting from the writing. It is ironic to choose this scene to insist to firmly uphold artistic integrity in a show that is not particular about continuity, making sense or being consistent about rules.

It is more glaring in juxtaposition of the what and the how of other characters.

I have no issues with Travis/ Emmett/ Eli in any order or combo or anything at all. But in contrast, their scenes are unhurried, unharried, and importantly brightly-lit and visible. Whether shippers like the storyline or not, the storyline is properly presented. Again, a string of deliberate choices. Which would still take place if it's still an 8pm slot, w/o the necessity to edit it to death, and with death.

I'm also bewildered at the screentime and budget assigned to 2 plotlines associated with 2 main antagonists of the past seasons - Dixon and Beckett. To use Travis's screentime to associate with Dixon, a literal mustache-twirling villain but the show is still trying to empathize with, is a choice. Similarly, to use Vic's screentime to associate with Beckett, a sexist bully, an abusive and sadistic captain, is yet another choice.

These are men who thrived on wrongdoing and gaming the system. Yet Beckett is a character that is treated with unusual sympathy (or usual, by s19's standards).

Ep1 suggests a continuation of s19's brand of women's empowerment - with the constant struggle and anger of women, together with the frustrating display of bad behavior of men and them getting away with it both professionally and privately. There is a thin line b/w that as central show conflict and endorsing the double standards... when the depiction of female ambition has always been problematic...

I don't want to judge Las Vegas until I've seen it, but I'm actually finding it impossible to see anything that even remotely makes it exciting for me. I do feel I have to watch it though, because I would love to be wrong.

I don't remember where I saw that, but someone said that John would like Inuyasha or whatever in relation to dirkjohn anime club, and it just occurred to me that ah yes, the anime featuring A Romance Between A Dude And A Girl Who Looks Exactly Like His Ex With Occasional Love Triangle Moments, totally relevant 😂
