ultimately i think the appeal of daniel and armand to me is that it's very much a typical dark romance storyline where the heroine is kidnapped and tortured by an evil monster but using her wits she manages to seduce him and make him emotionally vulnerable to her, because she is More Special and More Clever than all of his other victims, and because of this she enjoys a level of dangerous favor and protection from him, except in This version of the dark romance it's two toxic old men who both have the worst fucking personalities imaginable. who truly just fucking suck beyond measure. like no pun intended, they are Garbage, one is the actual literal immortal devil and the other is just kind of a deadbeat with no moral compass, neither of them is willing to work on himself and neither of them has ANY reason to want to rail the other as bad as they do.

and yet. There They Are,

i was talking to my mom about what i thought of the wicked movie soundtrack and her first comment was something like "why did you listen to it, it's all the same songs" and i had to just sit there because i am a classical violist. i go to music school this is what i am studying this is with any luck going to be my entire career. my mother sits before me and asks why i would bother to listen to another version of these songs when "they're the same songs."

mami. my dear mami. i spend like 80% of my time practicing, performing, and studying other people's performances of music that has been played for hundreds of years. hundreds of years. the same exact music.

did yellowjackets like, add another new 'been there the whole time' character? or is it instead another 'this is totally what they always looked like' recast?

#i like yj a lot but having multiple instances of characters popping out of nowhere AND recasts #on a show where who was involved in this incident and who survived or didn't is absolutely vital to the show #it makes it so messy and undermines the very appeal of the show #honestly there should have been like 8-10 people who survived long enough for the cannibalism to start #and every one of those characters should have been firmly established #so when half of them show up in the modern timeline we KNOW exactly who was killed and eaten #and they get one 'surprise!' survival reveal #and the mystery is finding out who participated in the hunt and how and why #and how they're dealing with the fallout now #it's ridiculous to have this many threads going and this many characters #i haven't watched the new eps yet and I'm sure I'll mostly like them #but the beginning of season two frustrated me so much with this stuff and I'm not looking forward to more

I may understand KHUX inside and out, where I have all the little inconsistencies mapped out into some elaborate plan that makes sense after all....

but I still am so confused about KHDR

#there are so many things were i'm like ''huh ? w... whah ??''#both UX and DR go back and forth making you believe certain things that are LITERALLY not fucking true #its one reason why... idk I'm not excited for ML's episodic release #I love UX's ''we watched this month's episode'' like it was a TV show #but at the same time building theories when the NEXT episode you learn that you had factually incorrect information....#idk that got old for me personally #so I'm glad DR was (mostly) out all at once;#and I'm ready to be VERY careful and hesitant with ML's episodic revelations #but anyway I digress #DR confuses me a lot because I still don't understand Baldr's goals and when Hoder dies vs how that fuels him etc etc #I know I need to rewatch DR and actually write everything down to really help it sink in and digest but...#idk I think this is one of my least fave titles of recent KH releases #not that I didn't like it #but it didn't exactly explain a lot of Young Xehanort's mysteries like I thought it would....#ANYWAYYYY thank you for reading...

I had a dream today where the sorry boys were making a vid where they rp as high school students (like the ones in 2000's nickelodeon/high school musicals) but what they didn't know was that Jacksepticeye had kidnapped Ranboo, locked him in a glass box and made him raise a piglet and be in a pig's family (like they were supposed to accept that the piglet's mom was their wife and the piglet was their son)

the other sorry boys didn't know that he was kidnapped and thought he was just busy/late, so while they're chilling in class waiting for him, Ranboo was raising a pig family and thinking of ways to escape

I don't exactly support her #But that said.. there really are just no other shows I know that hits the spot like this one does (including sex jokes and crassness XD)#(And even the way it touches on certain subjects. #succession #people throw around 'this is a show about horrible people' a lot but i don't think they all know what it means #the show is obviously going to end tragically for the roys because otherwise the ending would be -- what exactly?#a bunch of rich people winning? okay #they can't overcome their dysfunctionality not just because of logan and the cycles or whatever.#being a billionaire is inherently dysfuntional. power corrupts i can't believe i have to say that. and You Are Not Your Favourite Sibling #i get the fandom approach to succession and the want to find yourself and your own most fucked up aspects within the characters #(i'm literally a romangirl.)#but i think this is clouding some people's awareness that enjoying a character doesn't mean identifying with or condoning their actions #or that in a show like succession enjoying a character doesn't mean thinking they deserve to 'win'#this is a show about terrible people. why would i want anything else than to watch them slowly unravel psychologically before my eyes #and then self destruct?#all that to say: TRUE romangirls stay winning. forever and always

ive successfully gotten most of my family to watch good omens (s1), including everyone who I thought i COULD convince and 1 who i DIDN'T

#i also didn't even actually TRY to get my dad to watch it #we just happened to choose to watch it on my parents room so we could lay on the bed #and he happened to be in the room and didn't leave #i didn't think anything of it until episode 5 when he laughed at 'you wouldn't get that kind of performance from a modern car'#and in ep6 he asked of we'd be good 'GOOD tennant' in s2 cus his theory #on why they survived the hellfire/holy water #was ig that they switched places as angel and demon ???? which is a FASCINATING theory imo #anyway I'm going back to their house AGAIN next week to watch all of s2 :)#have to let my sister know so she can join us if she wants #she's already seen episodes 1-3 but will my mom has always been better at binging than my sisters gjkskvksjf #I'm slightly nervous about s2 just bc of how very very queer it is amd my oldest sister and dad are...... not exactly the easiest???#to show these things??????#bc i have no idea how to predict their reactions #my mom will be pretty fine with it probably... my sister has been known to make comments about how the 'sjws' push stuff so much #and my dad is....... pretty old fashioned to say it nicely. he knows that me and my sisters are queer (sexuality)#and doesn't really have any issues #and his favorite actor is cary grant who is ??? controversially bi????? but like i said; hard to predict #anywho I'm still excited anyway #good omens #shh ac
