okay so my goal in plasticity is NOT to "redeem" anyone or have anyone change their personal goals. so obito reincarnates and he still wants his moon's eye plan but also he is a little baby. i think i'll let both him and itachi keep their magic eyeballs but they don't have enough chakra to actually DO much with them until they're older (i guess like 12-13 bc that's when itachi was an ANBU captain, but it seems like neither of them should be able to be casually spamming mangekyou until they're adults)

however i think obito is uuuuuh easily distracted. like he can make a convoluted plan and carry it out-- he IS an uchiha thank you very much-- but also he's going to get sidetracked by just doing random shit for the lulz. this is why in canon he spends months harassing deidara for no reason. so he determines he must put his evil plans on hold for an indeterminate amount of time and WAIT A SECOND he hang out with rin now!!!!

i think he'd actually be very frustrated with trying to maintain a friendship with rin? like he put her on the HIGHEST pedestal but at the end of the day, she's a normal young girl. she's sweet to him but she's not as interesting as he remembers and she's a kid so she makes mistakes and also, obito is kind of insane and all of his peers Sense This about him. so he likes checking on her and doing short social activities with her, but he's not having hours long heart-to-hearts with her anymore. they're not as close. also if anything happens to rin obito will kill everyone in konoha and then himself

obito is kind of like "whatever, i'll be a genius this time around, that looked fucking fantastic for kakashi" so he attempts to be A Genius but it turns out if you're better than everyone else your age, adults expect you to..... do things?? obito is his own boss he doesn't just DO things smh. so he sets up this weird dynamic where he get lauded by his family but his family is also like uuuuh why aren't you graduating early??? BUT BECAUSE RIN IS THERE AND HE NEEDS TO LOOK AT HER

also, incredibly annoyingly, kakashi can still beat him sometimes because kakashi is a weird genetic freak. instead of just continually kicking his ass obito has just put more pressure on him to get stronger. horrible

konoha gives obito to minato and is like: there is something deeply unhinged about this kid but he had a sharingan at 8 so. do something with that. and unfortunately minato trying very earnestly to mentor obito is sort of endearing, and obito didn't realize the first time around how many strings minato pulled to get rin into medic-nin training and keep them off the frontlines as much as possible and obito..... will let him live this time, maybe.

at some point obito catches wind that danzo is sniffing around kakashi and so he breaks into danzo's home and is like "aaaaw how cute, but kakashi is mine. keep it up and i will kill you <3" and scares the living shit out of danzo. (minato is SUSPICIOUS obito Did Something but this does mean MINATO no longer has to do anything, so he doesn't ask questions)

the minute obito thinks he can use kamui more than once without giving himself chakra exhaustion, he starts poking around internationally. there's no real goal except MAYBE find and kill zetsu and madara, he's just Doing Shit. and in Doing Shit he runs into the Ame Trio and realizes there's more than one reincarnate?

Assassin's Creed x Dreaming of Sunshine brainstorm/fake fic summaries/spring cleaning (2023-03-18)

Back when I was in the throes of my Could/Should/Actually phase, I was also reading a lot of esama’s Assassin’s Creed fic and my brain, as per usual, went: but what if DoS? And so it started churning different types of crossovers which I lightly noted down but never pursued. I then ran into chamiryokuroi’s art, specifically that of Desmond’s son Elijah, who kind of has the memories/personality of an Isu in him. THEN those earlier notes that were percolating in my head then scrambled a bit because instead of separate AUs, my brain just smooshed them all together and then also brought up the critical point that was stopping me earlier:

In an Assassin’s Creed AU/crossover, the nearest equivalent to Desmond—genetically crafted by the Isu (who humans know as gods, aka Minerva, Juno, etc) in order to be at the right place at the right time—isn’t Shikako or even Naruto, but Sasuke. Especially going with wafflelate’s idea that the different Mangekyo Sharingan powers (also named after gods!) are indicative of different Uchiha lineages with a slight extrapolation that multiple lineages merging earlier on is why Sasuke (and Itachi) has so many different Sharingan powers. Oh, also, Desmond has something called the Eagle Eye which basically gives him psychic powers like the Sharingan.

Although, speaking of Itachi. I guess what I should have said is that the nearest equivalent to Desmond is actually Itachi—the perfect son who has all the tools and all the abilities and all the expectations of the world—while Sasuke is the spare, aka Clay (who had some of the lineages that the bad guys wanted but not all of them and not as much). Although, you know, not as bleak a future… And that’s about as much as I know of Assassin’s Creed because like many things, I mostly know it through fanfiction, fanart, and watching my friend play ACIII nearly a decade ago.

Anyways, with that in mind. My brain continued that since I wanted both sets of characters to exist as opposed to shoving Team Seven into the AC plot, that I should figure out what Team Seven was doing while the AC plot is going on since, you know, the sun burning up the planet is a pretty big deal. So obviously the sun is a problem, but presumably Minerva via Desmond had that covered. Either they fail and everyone’s dead anyway, or they succeed but there’s other stuff that needs to be considered. Such as: THE MOOOOOOOOOOON. But in all seriousness, I don’t super know how it would work, but even if Minerva via Desmond protects the planet from the initial massive solar flare, wouldn’t there be lingering excess energy or a secondary blast/wave reflected off the moon? I don’t know enough about pseudo science to know if my pseudo science makes sense.

Regardless. Excess energy or secondary wave on the side of the planet that has the moon, aka, Japan in the middle of the night (since I think the solar flare happened in the morning in New York?) And it’s pretty thematic, for Naruto canon at least, that the moon is the problem (whether or not we want to bring up Kaguya’s alien nonsense… although that is a pretty good equivalent for Juno’s evil in the AC side)

Anyway, the reason why chamiryokuroi’s art reinitiated this brainstorm is that, hey, obviously I love when Shikako is an OP almost literal deus ex machina. And Elijah almost literally has a “god” in him. Which Shikako also has had, or maybe the reverse, what with Gelel. And then whatever her beef with Jashin is. So either the Isu that Shikako has is Gelel (which is much kinder and benign that who Elijah is stuck with) or it’s “Shikabane-hime” and the personality sort of… glitched so that instead of taking over the body, muahahaha, style it just grew up as a person as in DoS. Although I’m a little handwaving how AC Sages work since apparently that relies on lineages/genetics (even though it somehow skipped Desmond but Elijah is one?) So either Shikako is an “artificial” Sage via picking up the Gelel stone or she’s a “natural” Sage and Shikabane-hime is just a chill Isu instead of the other muahahahaha evil Isu.

Then, to make Naruto match, what if, instead of Pieces of Eden (alien technology that seems like magic) the Isu on this hemisphere went with the bijuu? Maybe they were originally created to absorb the excess solar energy but over the millennia developed sentience. Or maybe they always had sentience which is what caused the Sage of Six Paths to rebel against the other gods (and also the human slavery en masse might have contributed) and while the bijuu remember the early days humans with their ever short lives forgot and so the bijuu grew bitter and resentful etc. etc.

So that’s the world building.

The plot of this fic I’m probably not going to write is actually my way of combining the three different AUs I thought of for the Could/Should/Actually and incorporating it into the above world building:

Subject Seven, like many of Desmond’s predecessors, died before they could ever meet. Whatever she learned in the Animus she never told Vidic or, at least, it never made it onto any Abstergo files.

STAY CALM. DON’T REACT. Desmond can’t tell if this is a new twist to the Bleeding Effect or if he’s unlocked something else in his Eagle Vision, but now he’s reading the shadows on the walls and that can’t be normal.

“Juno, huh,” says the girl in green, the only spot of color in the vast expanse of The Grey. “I had Jashin.”

Obviously, the way to fix 1 is simply Shikako faked her death and escaped. Or even Abstergo’s internal communications between departments is garbage and the team that was working on Sages just up and yoinked her from the Animus project. And also, what’s kinda fun about this (in a horrifying people being experimented on against their will kind of way) is that in order for Shikako to be Subject Seven while Desmond is Subject Seventeen and not have her be so much older than him (or even so much older than what I'm used to seeing her as in DoS, although this coming from me who writes future fic, lol) that means she was very young when she was Subject Seven. So we could have canonically badass twelve-fourteen year old Shikako in this seemingly normal world and then she has a full decade of being badass in time to help with Desmond’s side.

Although, in order to best incorporate 2 and 3, what an author who is not me could imply is that she died for realsies and ended up in The Grey (which from my understanding is like the coding space behind the world where Calculations aka sealing is done and might also be the afterlife but perhaps is only the afterlife specifically for Juno who hid herself in technology so that she could pop out millennia after all the other Isu had died and fuck with humanity). And from the Grey she can manipulate shadows, as in 2, and also meet Desmond “in person” as in 3 when he dies after the planet saving thing he does in AC canon.

And then the fun reveal is that, hey, The Grey isn’t actually an afterlife. It’s a pocket dimension from where you can manipulate the real world through strength of will. I’m not dead and neither are you, also would you like to meet my friends I feel like they could probably help you deal with the fact that your entire existence was a manipulation by beings that died over 75000 years ago because they have similar experiences. Would I have more relevant/similar experiences having been an Animus subject and having been in The Grey? Maybe, but I also contain the personality/memories of an Isu and I wouldn’t want to make you uncomfortable.

Nothing is True, Everything is Permitted is one way to interpret the creed. A more accurate way would be to say Nothing is Immutable, Everything is Possible, but that’s just not as catchy. Or, the Isu had their Calculations, but Shikako has sealing and that’s way more fun.

I’m back - okay, so.  To begin with, Tajima actually acknowledges that Madara and Hashirama had, admittedly unknowingly, become friends.  Madara wants his precious people to not be in constant danger.

It’s quite easy to play the part of Concerned Parent (because he is just for a different reason) and talk about how both he and Izuna had been so worried when Izuna realized just who he had been meeting - yes of course they knew Madara, but they thought this civilian or no Clan ninja (do those even exist? idk, i just realized that doesn’t make sense) was helping.  It’s obvious that Butsuma sent his son to trick Madara just like. well, that’s not important.

Madara insists that Hashirama wasn’t tricking him, Hashirama is nice and also wants peace!

So Tajima is Concerned because if Hashirama is such a nice boy why! He shudders to think of what Butsuma will do to him! *while ‘unconsciously’ touching a scar Madara knows he has* But, it’s not like they can do anything.  He’s sure Butsuma is already ranting at the boy about how evil the Uchiha are.  *sighs* if only he had been a civilian, Tajima would have gladly welcomed him into the Clan.  Even a run away from another Clan would have been better than Butsuma’s Prized Creation- he means Heir, of course, so sorry.

Madara hesitantly asks if maybe they could help Hashirama get away from Bustuma.  And, oh!  Tajima is so proud of how kind and helpful his son is!  To reach out to an enemy like this!  They will have to be careful of course, no doubt Butsuma is keeping a tight leash on the boy.

So now Tajima has made it a Clan Mission to try to rescue dear sweet Hashirama from the Evil Butsuma, carefully leading conversations to/around Hashirama to equate Tobirama (already so so smart, he would see right through this) with Butsuma so that Hashirama is less and less inclined to want to bring his younger brother.  Madara comforts him, telling him they’ll make a plan to try to break Tobirama of the brainwashing and conditioning - why there’s a whole section of his Clan dedicated to doing so for those who run from their Evil Clans!

The Senju are dealt a heavy blow when Hashirama abandons them for the Uchiha.  Tobirama with his Sensor abilities was never supposed to lead.  He was supposed to have an almost priest like role in telling people when he felt their loved ones move on from the godtree (different from the Chakra giving one) after their deaths.  The Senju religion has not changed in some ways since long before the Sage.  The Tree is where the Spirits of their dead go until they go on to create new life, just as their bodies create new life in the form of fertilizer.  Though the Tree holding the Spirits is held back until one has shown they can handle lose (or have crazy Sensor abilities and can feel it), so Hashirama who really wasn’t does not know.  He knows of the Tree, but he’s never been the most religious minded person so to him it is just a Really Old Tree.

The Uchiha have both Madara and Hashirama and have convinced both that the other Clans are Evil or at least the leaders are, and the innocent members need to be freed from their tyranny.  So the Uchiha are leading what amounts to a ‘Holy’ Crusade to ‘save’ everyone else.

The Senju fall.  Sealed cuffs restrain Tobirama and Butsuma as Tajima regretfully tells Hashirama that the Tree is a symbol and those poor misguided Senju that escaped from the Compound or were on missions and just don’t understand would no doubt use it as a rallying point!

Hashirama understands Tajima-jii.  New growth happens after a forest fire, they need to burn it.

Butsuma watches them burn the Tree to ash with tears streaming down his face.

Tobirama cries out is shock, horror, and pain as they do and folds down into the ground, weeping as the Spirits of his younger brothers, his mother, so many of his Clan that he knew and loved burn long before they are ready to reenter the reincarnation cycle.  None will walk this earth again.  Most won’t even make it to the Pure Lands.

And Butsuma is Evil so of course they have to kill him there and they do not care about the traditions of the Senju - those were used to repress people!  And so his body is left for the carrion birds to scavenge.

And Hashirama is so sorry, but Tobirama will have to stay in these chains, as a slave until they can break Butsuma’s conditioning.  But soon, he will see that the Uchiha a Good.

Tobirama says the last words he will speak to his brother.

“I am the last of my line.”

any theories on why madatobi is so popular? to me it makes no sense. very little canon interaction (I mean not that this matters) and also like (and this goes to show how little Im aware of the fandom lmao) I always thought izuna & tobirama / madara & hashirama relationships would be more popular bc of the in text structure theyre given… so the prevalance of madatobi absolutely came out of left field for me. have to say I wish I was still ignorant

they're very, very, VERY good character types for the juiciest enemies to lovers tropes; tobirama is a mean little cunt and a realist while madara is a boisterous bastard and emotionally driven. fundamentally they go great together. for people who love E2L hashirama doesn't really 'click' because he doesn't believe they are enemies until madara starts attacking the village which isn't really a great jumping-off point. as for fandom archetypes people prefer balls of sunshine with loudmouths when they're not enemies or the loudmouth is a lone agent :( rip king you could have friendzoned him so good

the problem for me is that the text does not support it to the point it's comedic its like

1. madara already has a senju he has a fraught frenemy relationship with that canon made really really gay at least on his end even though i dont think hashirama will ever love him sorry king. sorry. hes gonna friendzone you man.

2. while their personalities go well together socially madara and tobirama are both the types of dudes to talk past people; they don't have any chemistry they would obviously just not pay attention to what the other is saying... its like...boring enemies

3. the battle is one of obligation the stakes aren't personal they don't even fight each other ever. imagine like idk enough iconic enemies with weirdly detailed pasts together... uh... ok forget that hashimada are homoerotic for a sec but imagine cloud and sephiroth battling to the death and sephiroth decides to hook up with tifa or barrett. like man. are you sure?

ok pre-game events sephiroth/barrett would be like crazy... um... i guess tifa in this case since she's younger and not a structural element

4. just give izuna madara's fanon personality are you crazy. he doesnt have a personality you can do this. this is why izuna is treated like a spare tire you took away his purpose (to stand next to tobirama)

5. in order to escape the antichemistry of the context they exist in people defang their dynamic and make tobirama the victim, make the uchiha the heroes, or both in order to get the awkward non-enemy thing out of the way so it's a more digestible "tobirama doesn't trust uchiha and the uchiha don't trust tobirama but they're willing to work together" kind of setup. which is good but it demands a softness that undermines the power of their cunty archetypes a little. i can't fuck with it but that's my preference i've said before i only read character stuff so "softening archetypes" sounds evil to me

every time people ask me about fic stuff i sort of cringe at how picky i am LOL...its fic...and i act this way. read more books maybe. anyway

6. people wont let them be toxic unless it's for sexual sadism reasons. i follow madatobi artists and fic writers all the time and they're all people who get that if you crash against someone you have no chemistry with specifically because you have no chemistry with them and you need that. and you discover you are capable of developing chemistry as you throw shit at each other. the magic fucking happens.

also full madatobi aus like modern aus or whatever tend to be waaay better but i love how fucked up founders era is so i won't read modern stuff for a ship i dont like LOL. and youkai aus are better but like...the prose in these trying to make tobirama seem ethereal always inventing a new kind of racism for albino people. buddy you wouldn't do this to jiraiya. stop

Marinette had to practically yell to not get Alya to follow her to the coffee shop. Since Jon was not from Paris she had suggested 3 locations with a description of their feel and allowed him to pick which one sounded best. It was actually her favorite because it felt so cozy. She loved to sit there are draw if she wasn’t able or in the mood to do so outside. Even though she didn’t tell Alya where they were going she knew Alya might still try to follow them to watch her on the date, actually she wasn’t sure if it was a date or just a way for him to get close to her and learn more about her without being suspicious.

He was already waiting when she got there. She wasn’t late, but she did arrive right on time. He matched his pace so they both arrived at the counter at the same time. He told the cashier that they would be ordering together and did not even give her a chance of fighting him on it. She had wondered if he would insist on paying but she had made sure she had enough money to cover it if he hadn’t. She didn’t like making a fuss over who was paying either way. They kept their conversation very mild while they were still at the counter waiting for their drinks, but once they were seated they turned more serious.

“So, are you actually planning on dating me even though we live on different continents and across an ocean, or are you just trying to find out more about me to determine if I am evil?” Marinette asked.

“I think you ending up where you did makes the likelihood of you being evil fairly expected. So I definitely intend to learn how you managed that. As for dating you, I think I could handle evil. My closest friend is often called Demon Spawn and we still manage to get along.” Jon said.

“You would be wasting your time trying to find out how I got there. I already told you the truth of why I was there and I can’t say more. It really was an accident.”

“Well, I’m not just going to take your word for it. There really is no way for you to have gotten in there without help and I will find who you are working with.”

“You can try. But there is nothing more to learn that relates to you. I didn’t even know you existed.”

“See that is criminal. I am very well known. I’m on a poster. I’ll make sure to send you one.”

“I guess it is comforting that you are expecting that to be possible. So I’m not just to disappear.”

“Of course not. If you turn out to be a threat then you would be properly imprisoned. In which case you would probably already be thinking of me and you might as well enjoy looking at me.”

“Is the super for super egotistical? You sure are impressed with yourself.”

“Don’t worry. I’m impressed with you too. Your school record is phenomenal. You seem to impress a lot of professional adults, including my parents who thought you did excellent work for your presentation yesterday. Not to mention you are very attractive.”

Marinette couldn’t quite manage an appropriate response to that she stumbled over and attempt as her face heated up. She apparently couldn’t deal with any hot guy telling her how attractive he thought she was even if he believed he would have to stop her from evil doing.

They didn’t stay for much longer. There wasn’t much else to say. She was surprised that he walked her back to the bakery after. But since he mentioned that he was hungry she invited him inside to get something from the bakery. When they saw the sight that greeted them in the bakery she was certain that he wished just as much as her that they had went separate ways instead of going in the bakery But there were both sets of parents seated at a table that they clearly had been at for a bit all cheering when the teens entered together.

They insisted that they join them at the table and tell them all about how it went. Marinette said they were getting pastries first. Marinette tried to not roll her eyes as her parents made her stay there and meet Jon's parents even though they had met yesterday at the school. Both teens stood there uncomfortably while their parents went on and on about how cute they were and how they grew up so fast. Marinette took charge to step on when her mom started trying to talk her first crush story.

"Maman! Please. No one wants to hear that. Tell something else while we go get pastries."

"Okay. It is a really great story though. Maybe once this all isn't so new," Sabine said, gesturing at them.

"Of course. I'm can hardly wait until things are in a spot where you can mock me."

Marinette walked off dramatical with that. She grabbed Jon and tugged him away. They took their time selecting pastries and when their parents were distracted again Marinette shoved him out the back and they kept moving until they were far away from their parents.

Time travel AU (Part 2: Minato’s promise)

AU Summary: The world is falling apart, and the Sage of the Six Paths sends Naruto back in time to find his parents and collect the thing that will help him and Sasuke save the shinobi.

Part 2 Summary: Naruto tells his parents why he’s come back in time, and asks them to help him save the world. Y/N notices there’s something off with everything that’s going on, but Minato steps up to keep his family safe.

Minato’s promise

Minato’s mouth dropped wide open. For a moment Y/N thought she imagined the whole thing, but she wiped her eyes and both Naruto and her husband were still in front of her. Minato’s initial shock had transformed into his signature smile.

The resemblance between the boy and him was uncanny. They had the same yellow hair and expressive blue eyes, as well as his easygoing manner. At the same time, he spoke in the same distracted but cheerful way Y/N did. He had the same expressions as her. There was no denying this was their child. But how was it possible?

As if reading his wife’s mind, Minato spoke.

“Naruto, this is very weird so you’d better have one hell of a good explanation on how the same baby she’s carrying is also sitting here all grown up, being a full fledged shinobi.”

Naruto’s stomach made a noise, revealing his hunger.

“We can talk about it over dinner, you both need food to restore yourselves, and so do I, remember I’m still eating for two.”

Y/N served three generous bowls of ramen and had her two ninjas take a seat at the table.

“Wow mom, you really do know how to cook. This is so tasty, maaan I love it. Did you know ramen is my favorite food? Have I mentioned it yet?”

“Well it’s also my favorite food. Don’t I cook it for you often? In the future I mean.”

“Ummm, not really” he laughs nervously “anyway, let me tell you what’s going on. It’s kinda messy really, and a hard story to tell, but I’ll try my best”

Naruto does try his best to summarize everything without getting much into detail, and his parents seem to catch on a bit. Naruto is surprised that they actually believe every word he says and seem keen on helping him, which is a relief, really, because he’d be lost without their support.

“So you’re telling us that in the future, 17 years from now, an evil princess who mysteriously fell from space ages ago comes back to life so she can plant a tree which enslaves all of humanity and feeds on their chakra and the only way to stop it is if you and Sasuke Uchiha, who just so happens to be the cute baby I saw a week ago in my friend Mikoto’s arms, seal her. For that you need to collect a special type of chakra from the Kyuubi because it’s exactly released at the time of your birth and a scroll from the Uchiha Clan which Sasuke is trying to find at this same time, and that’s why the Sage of the Six Paths gave Sasuke the power for one trip in time with his, what did you say it was called?” Says Y/N.

“Rinnesharingan”

“Right, rinnesharingan. So did I understand correctly?”

“Yes you have it all right. So will you let me attend my own birth so we can save everyone?”

“If it’s for the sake of the world I will, right, yondaime?”

“Of course, my love” says her husband.

“Thanks mom, you’re truly the best”

“Come here, let me hold you for a bit, you must be exhausted”

Naruto moves close to his mother, and she embraces him in a tender way he’s never felt before. She strokes his forehead and tries to reassure him that she and his father will help him through it all, but a deep fear settles in her heart.

After spending a few moments like this, and noticing her son is exhausted, she prepares the guest bedroom for him and carefully tucks him into bed.

Once Naruto has fallen asleep, Y/N settles in her couch with a cup of tea in her hands.

“Minato, I’m scared”

He sits on the couch next to her and starts massaging her tired shoulders. His hands are a balm on her fearful soul.

“It’s okay, I’m here for you. I’ll protect you three.”

“I’m worried, for the baby, and for Naruto. I know they’re the same person, but still I worry for them both.”

“I know honey, but think about it this way, if Naruto from the future showed up here, that means the baby will be alright” his warm voice tranquilizes her.

“Still, there’s something off with all this. I mean I do believe him, he’s our son, and I’m oddly happy to have met him. To know that this baby will become such a strong willed shinobi. He’s everything I’ve dreamed our son would be, but this feels weird. He didn’t know who I was. And he makes comments that make me think he hasn’t spent much time with us, Minato”

He knows. He noticed it too, but he didn’t want to say anything about it either.

“Hey, it’s alright.” He planted a kiss on her bare neck “Maybe he didn’t recognize you because you look different in the future. We’ll age, princess. As much as we hate to admit it.” He chuckles kindly, trying to brush off his own concern.

“Yeah I guess. He’s a distracted kid too. Guess whom he got that from?”

Minato laughs gently and encircles his wife’s waist so his hands reach her tummy.

“I’ll take care of my beautiful family. There’s nothing more precious than you. It’s a promise” They fall asleep on the couch, tangled in a loving embrace. Y/N knows her husband’s word is sacred, so she knows she’ll be okay, but there’s a part of her that still feels uneasy.

……

The next day they avoid talking about the topic, and instead, Naruto decides to enjoy the feeling of having his family together until his birth comes up. He helps Y/N do even the most basic tasks, and takes care of her protectively. Minato, Y/N and Naruto fall into a nice, familiar routine for the rest of the week, and Naruto even goes with Minato a couple times to the Hokage office and helps him sort through the day’s work.  Time flies by, and he wishes he could stay here longer, but before he knows it, the day before his birth arrives.

He’s alone with his dad in his office, they’re settling everything so they can return to their house where Y/N is waiting for them with a delicious dinner.

“Hey dad, can I talk to you before we go home? There’s something you need to know. I, uh, well I haven’t had the heart to say it in front of mom, but there’s a reason I didn’t recognize her when I came here.”

“We’re going to die, aren’t we?”

Naruto’s stomach shrinks as he wishes he had another answer to that question.

“Yeah”

“I’ve had the feeling, that something might go wrong. That’s why I’ve had Kakashi follow Y/N, taking care of her. The sandaime and I planned the birth, so she’ll be surrounded by security, but I guess there’s no way to avoid it right? I’m just very sorry we don’t get to watch you grow up. Y/N has been very excited since she found out, having a child has lifted her spirits so much.” There’s a deep sadness in his eyes, but he brushes it away, replacing it with a soft chuckle. “But, hey, let’s worry about death later. Now tell me, did you grow up happy? Were your needs covered? Did you have love surrounding you?”

Naruto was taken aback by his dad’s inquiry, he hadn’t expected that he’d care more about his wellbeing than the news he’d just given him. Warmth spread through his chest and a thought crossed his mind I couldn’t have asked for a better family.

“Yeah, you could say my life has been nice, dad. You and mom have nothing to worry about.” His cheeks felt a bit hot “I eat well and I have many friends.”

“Tell me about it kid, I want to hear everything. It seems this may be one of our few chances.” Minato reached out and ruffled his son’s hair.

“Well, where should I start? Oh! I know, this will make you happy. Kakashi is my Sensei. We’ve been on many adventures together. He’s the captain of my team. I’m there with my two best friends, Sakura and Sasuke. Well, things with Sasuke have been rough, and that’s maybe another topic, but he’s the first person who deeply, truly understood me, and I’ve never given up on him. I never will.”

On the way home, Naruto keeps telling him stories about how he grew up, and Minato enjoys every single one of them. When they get there, he acts as if nothing had happened, and Naruto knows, he’s trying to find a way to protect Y/N.

here’s a crack concept:

so i have an itasaku AU which is basically just “Itachi lives but he very much does NOT want anyone going public with the whole coup thing, so he’s still technically a missing-nin” and basically all of konoha but team 7 + tsunade think he’s Evil. but also this is a “cracky domesticity” story so Itachi just like. constantly breaks into Konoha to bother Sasuke. sasuke IS interested in reconnecting so it’s like 1/3 a sibfic B U T sasuke can’t spend more than short amounts of time w/ itachi before he starts to Panic so itachi has a lot of down time to bother the rest of team 7

but ANYWAY i was thinking about how ino would definitely figure out sakura is banging uchiha freaking itachi at some point, because she’s ino. and then i was like “well what do i do with ino AFTER she’s had this revelation” and then i went “double date!!” and here’s the EXTRA crack Ino concept:

ItaSaku is a thing. Ino wants to be set up with her own sexy missing-nin boyfriend. Itachi is like “sure, I guess?” and keeps bringing other members of Akatsuki as surprise double datemates. i say surprise because he does not actually explain what’s going on to anyone and has 0 sense of romance. deidara literally thought this was a mission. why is he being left alone with this hot girl that looks like him

Grandpa Bruce. Adopted Marinette

The majority of this part will be Bruce, Dick, and probably baby Marinette. I’m not really sure, honestly I didn’t think I would make it this far with this au. I not sure how many parts of this I’m going to do but I’m considering making a story I guess you could say, with this. That I don’t know when I will post it. But here’s the fourth part, enjoy!

After a couple of minutes Marinette had fallen asleep in Bruce’s arms, after he was sure that she wouldn’t wake up he laid her back on her wooden crib. He looked back at Dick, who looked dead which made sense from the lack of sleep. He was taking care of a baby and trying to hide her from him for some time, that couldn’t be easy. He quietly pushed him out of the nursery, across the hallway, and into his room and on his bed. He told him to get some sleep and that he would take care of his granddaughter. Before Dick could protest or explain to him about the baby, Bruce had already shut the door to his room.

Bruce sighed when he was in the hallway and looked directly at the nursery door were the baby was sleeping. He knew something was up, there had to be a reason why everyone was acting so strange. He barley ever saw Dick roaming around in the manor, and when he did, he acted nervously and tired. He just couldn’t place his finger on it. He had some suspicions that connected to the baby.

For example, whenever he would pass through the living room he would see baby blankets left there, he would ask about it but Alfred would cover it up by saying it was for a friend of his who had just become a grandmother. Sometimes he would somewhat overhear the conversations between his kids about a baby, when he would appear they would immediately change the subject. Of course this would worry him. Having a baby was very dangerous in the family. It would put them at risk.

He closed his eyes and made his way into the nursery. He opened the door and saw that she was still in a deep slumber. He made his way to the chair which was a few feet away from her crib. He sat down and looked over at her. She looked like a little angel. Her short delicate hair spread around her small pillow, her breathing was even, if Dick hadn’t told him that he adopted her before he pushed him to sleep, he would have thought that she was his biological daughter. She looked a lot like him. It was heartwarming.

Bruce still remembered exactly how he found her the night. He had gotten home from work very late. He was tired but he couldn’t sleep. He decided that he should roam around the manor, maybe he would get tired and go to sleep. He was passing the room he didn’t know was the nursery at the moment. After he went pass about two more rooms, he head what sounded like a-a baby crying? He got closer to sound and was in front of a room that was across Dick’s room. He hesitated for a bit as he opened the door.

His eyes widened as he saw a little baby girl in a small crib crying, he wasn’t sure about what but babies cry at random time most of the time. Before he could could give his actions a second thought, he was already reaching inside the crib and gently lifted her in his arms and pulled her closer to his chest. The baby slowly opened her eyes and saw beautiful gray eyes with a tint of blue in them. They somehow resembled Dick in a way. Not just because of the color but because of what he saw in them. He was hopes, dreams, strength, care, and love. All of that in such a small package.

He rocked her gently and hummed her a tune he remembered from his childhood. A song his parents would sing him, he never hummed it to anyone else but her now. That song brought back so many memories, but the only thing he could focus on was the baby he was holding in his arms at the moment. At that moment he gave having a baby around the house a second thought. They couldn’t just leave her. They could protect her, love her, care for her.

She was staying.

Bruce lowers his gaze back at the floor. Even though he had already decided that she would be staying, his emotions were still running wield. HE HAD A GRANDDAUGHTER!! He was sure most people would have freaked out by now, good thing he was good at keeping his emotions covered. Looking back at her, he smiled. He didn’t want her to be put through a neglectful grandfather. While she would grow up, he would be there for her. Be something his parents couldn’t be. For them

As morning came, Marinette woke up and he carried her out of the nursery into the kitchen to get her formula. Some hours later Alfred, Tim, and Jason saw a happy, smiling Bruce on the sofa feeding the baby her formula. Once he realized that they were there he looked over his shoulder and in a deadpan voice he said.

“I’m a grandpa now”

I thinks that’s it for today, I woke up 2 hours and 30 min early before school to finish this and post it (don’t tell my mama). I don’t know when the fifth part will be ready, but I hope you all enjoyed this part until then, Adios!!

Damian stood against the wall watching Adrien’s bodyguard. He had no idea the man had said to his soulmate but Ladybug seemed to think he wasn’t a problem. He wasn’t restrained and she seemed to think having him in the same room as Adrien wouldn’t cause issues. So of the two people who shouldn’t have any idea what was going on and they absolutely shouldn’t trust, one was now guarding one of their prisoners and the other might end up fighting with them. He was getting a migraine.

Red Hood stood next to him still refusing to let Adrien out of his sight for fear of Chloe’s retribution. He still didn’t understand why his brother’s were so afraid of the girl but it did provide entertainment. Ladybug had gone to check in with Red Robin and Oracle and while Damian didn’t like having her out of his sight he was more concerned about Adrien having an ally.

Ladybug poked her head in and smiled at the giant in the corner. Damian was a little shocked when the man smiled back at her since it was the most expression he’d seen. Adrien seemed to think her smile was aimed at him and gave a idiotic grin that Damian wanted to slap off his face. Perhaps not the healthiest reaction but his need to keep the former hero away from his soulmate got stronger by the day. His instincts were almost screaming at him. When he saw the uneasy expression on her face he knew she could feel it too. Then she looked at him and her entire expression changed. His breath caught at the look but he didn’t understand why.

“Robin I need to speak with you.” When he glanced at the bodyguard she just gave him a reassuring smile. He just huffed out a breath in annoyance and followed her into the hallway.

“Is there something about him you know that we don’t?” He couldn’t help the annoyance in his tone. The longer they were holed up in this house the more stressed he seemed to get, and he wasn’t the only one.

“Yes, but that’s not what I need to talk to you about.” He just frowned down at her and she had the audacity to giggle at him. “You know what happened to Tim?”

“Of course. Did you figure out the exact cause.” She looked hesitant and uncertain.

“Yes and no. I’m fairly certain it has something to do with the experiments M. Agreste has been doing to create more Miraculous. I think it’s affecting you as well.” He let out an indignant huff but she continued. “Your mood and song have been getting darker the longer we’re here but the second we leave the grounds it’s like a cloud has lifted. It’s not just you either. We need to find a way to either stop the effects or cleanse the house.”

“And how exactly would we do that?”

“Tikki has a few ideas…” She suddenly refused to meet his eyes and he saw a blush creeping onto her face. What could the Kwami have said to her? “But I think I want to consult with Gen and see if she has any suggestions. I would think with the Kwami of Creation, Destruction, and Renewal we would be able to fix the problem.” He opened his mouth once again to ask what exactly Tikki had suggested but was interrupted by Chloe, Kagami, and Gen walking towards them. His soulmate’s smile held a touch of relief that just made him more confused.

“Are we interrupting something?” Gen was looking between them as if seeing something no one else could. Given the little he knew about her it wouldn’t surprise him if she was.

“No. Is everything okay with you two?” Chloe and Kagami shared a look and Damian had to fight back a small smile. They may not be able to hear each other but it looked like they could already communicate without words.

“We’re good. Though Kagami still thinks you’re insane for trusting her.” Gen let out a snort of laughter at Chloe’s words while Kagami gave them both a flat look before turning to Ladybug.

“I do not pretend to understand any of this and I doubt I’ll ever understand your reasoning. Still if you wish to give me the opportunity to destroy the man who managed to take my free will along with that of so many others, I’m not going to say no.” Ladybug laughed. Really laughed at least until it hurt her ribs. Damian had a strong urge to hug Kagami for making his soulmate happy thought he’d never actually do so.

“Well then, welcome to the team.” She held out a hand which Kagami accepted. Before they let go Ladybug’s expression shifted to one of confusion. Damian watched in horror and confusion as her transformation dropped and she, Kagami, and Chloe all clutched their heads in pain. The other girls seemed to recover quickly but Marinette went pale and collapsed. Damian barely caught her before she hit the ground and cradled her to his chest.

“Gen what’s going on?” He realized too late that she might find his tone offensive but she was already focused on Marinette’s unconscious form. Nixx came out of nowhere to land on her chest. The Kwami appeared to be pulsing light and there was a slight hum coming from them. Tikki had taken up residence on his shoulder and was oddly quiet.

“I’m not entirely sure…” She looked at the other girls, squinting at the area around them if he had to guess, before cursing. “Oh that’s just great. I spent a millennia trying to fix this soulmate bond and she did it without even trying.”  Chloe and Kagami were just staring at each other with wonder on their faces and Damian realized that whatever had just happened, it seemed that those two could now hear each other’s songs.

“But what about Marinette? What’s wrong with her.” Gen blinked at him before shaking her head as if to clear it. She walked over and put a hand over his soulmate’s eyes. She also started humming in the same pitch coming from Nixx. She slowly removed her hand before looking up at him.

“There’s nothing wrong with her. She’s worn out. I’m not sure what she did but it drained all her energy. Nixx will stay with her to keep her asleep and speed her recovery. Tikki do you know what just happened?” The Kwami shook her head, eyes wide.

“I just felt a surge of power. The same as when she healed Red Robin. It seems to be something that comes from within her rather than from me.” Gen gave a thoughtful hum while staring down at the girl in his arms.

“For such a little thing she sure makes huge ripples. You two need to stay together. And I don’t mean near each other. You need to be in physical contact at all times until we figure out what’s going on.” She was staring straight at him and the look in her eyes worried him.

“I don’t understand.” Those words felt like they were ripped out of him. He hated not knowing things but admitting that he didn’t know was a sign of weakness he never allowed himself. Gen sighed and looked frustrated, though it didn’t seem directed at him.

“I’m not entirely sure I do either. All I know is that you ground each other. This place is wreaking havoc with everyone and I think her powers are trying to compensate to balance the evil radiating from the house.”

“She wanted to ask your advice about how to fix that. She said she thinks it’s because of the experiments Gabriel was doing.” Gen shook her head but seemed deep in thought.

“I don’t think it’s just that. The Agreste family and by extension the house seem to carry ill fortune with them. By adding first a damaged Miraculous and then the Black Cat which carries the essence of bad luck… I think those experiments are the least of our worries.”

Isn't sad how all those children preferred to live in a dark cave, caged, all being used as test subject for Orochimaru's bizarre experiments, living like animals, than in their natal villages with their "companions"?

F***ING WEBSITE FROM HELL I F***ING DELETED THAT F***ING META BECAUSE I CLICKED BACKSPACE ONE TIME TO MANY F**K THIS okay here we go again because I thought hard about this and I’m not gonna let it go.

SO. I think Orochimaru is a far more interesting character when written as a cult leader for outcasts than with just the children-snatching psychopath view, because we don’t get the impression that he coerces people into following him. There’s no doubt he did some abducting but that’s not the core of his recruitment strategy.

It was a strong theme at the beginning of the story with Zabuza and Haku – how far would you go for the first person to ever show you kindness and give you safety, even if it was for selfish reasons, even if they’re terrible people? I seem to recall Naruto thinking something along the lines of “I was lucky it was Iruka for me, had it been someone else…” and relating to Haku’s loyalty to Zabuza despite knowing he was just a mean to an end. It makes for great AUs too – what if Naruto had latched onto someone less recommendable than nice Iruka? It's too bad that line of thinking was dropped because it also served as a harsh criticism of their world, the fact that it produces so many bitter, abandoned orphans that have no choice but to turn to brutal mercenaries and unhinged scientists. The shinobi world created many of its own enemies, within and outside the villages.

I don’t think the kids “prefer” to live that way, but they would still be starving in the streets or abused by their village without Orochimaru, so it’s normal to do whatever he wants in return, right? Including kill or fight each other to death or subject themselves to whatever he wants to test on them… Of course it’s textbook recipe for abuse, the “you owe me” card. He takes full advantage of this, that they have nowhere else to go, that they will owe him. He also makes it even harder for them to go back, what with the body modifications and making it to every village’s shit list with the killing and stuff he has them do.

He basically runs a cult – he’s shown to be charismatic, having a great power of attraction and persuasion, and he doesn’t treat them that badly, I mean in a way we often see bad guys do, being belittling and acing them off for fun just to show he’s eeeeevil. He does give them what they want, safety, shelter, power, companionship, purpose. I can imagine him playing the benevolent card for a while before introducing his newest refugee to the downside of getting under his wing. He preys on the vulnerable and they come willingly.

It’s most likely their only option, including once they’re in and realize they’re really not into this after all. It’s not like any of them was ever offered a way out – what would they do if they left, who would help them? The shinobi world doesn’t seem big on rehabilitation, for all Naruto’s “villain-turning-good” powers. Most of them pay their “redemption” and their return to the light by death anyway. Would be too hard to actually question their morality and choices and see what they would become if they went back to the world…

Ironically enough the only one who sort of gets that is Orochimaru lmao but it doesn’t count because there was no redemption nor questioning of any kind they just decided he got to stay and not be held accountable for any of his actions. And I don’t know why any of us is surprised by this actually or why we expected better we should be used to this by now. Ah. Moving on.

As the kids grow up, they would either develop a stronger sense of morality/self-worth and wouldn’t be able to go along with this shit anymore, no matter how grateful they are to him, or they would stay blindly loyal. Or they would just be dead, dying, or imprisoned and unable to escape heh. I guess some would also take a deeper turn because since this world sucks so much and abandoned them why wouldn’t they wreak havoc in it on his orders? He must play on this too because he IS outside and against the system and it would attract those who seek revenge against it, even if he serves his own interests above the "Strike back at the System" cause. It served him well when he was in Konoha after all and isn’t that his biggest grievance in the end? That he played within its constraint and was still cast out, because he crossed a line he didn’t even know was there? We don’t get a feeling that he’s inherently against the whole child-soldiers/kill for hire/waging pointless wars thing, on the contrary it suits him quite well, but the problem was the hypocrisy, that they condone those things but still try to take the moral high ground.

I’m sorry but I can only imagine Orochimaru being like “assassination ok torture for information ok civilian casualties ok sacrifice anything for the village including your health life and those of your friends ok train to death and do whatever it takes to get stronger ok experiment on people… no?” I’m not trying to justify his actions but just, how is anyone surprised by how some of them turned out? I think we saw people like this among his followers, you know who were trained to kill from a young age, but when they got a taste for it and went outside the mission frame, the villages were like "huh huh no no” and they went ???? excuse me how was I supposed to cope with being made into an assassin as seven apart from convincing myself that this was all fine and fun actually? And of course the classic “I lived in a cage/I was driven from my home at 5/I was enslaved, and this guy comes around and offers a way out was I just supposed to say no?”.

(This apply to Sasuke too by the way, because had this boy been given some freaking support as a child he wouldn’t have made it his lifelong goal to kill his brother while disregarding absolutely everything else in his life and Orochimaru played him like a damn flute and someone should just have… seen this coming. Or just NOT have the entire Uchiha clan pointlessly wiped off but that’s another point entirely)

The lines of who is good and who is bad in Naruto are very foggy. Murder is not a criterion, child abuse either, so what? At some point we have to acknowledge that the characters who are "good" in Naruto are simply the ones we're told are on the good guys' side. I mean it’s a valid morality system – being good means serving your village. Whatever you do to that end is okay. It’s exactly Danzo’s mentality and it's easy to see where it comes from, it is how their world is built. It’s also how they manage to say with a straight face that Itachi was a good guy actually, and you can build a story on that, you can put it into question.

But the story doesn’t commit to this. It still tries to tell us that being mean and killing people is bad, when half of those characters are paid assassins for freak’s sake, when the good guys have an entire clan build on arbitrary slavery, when they massacred one of their own clan. Once again it started right with Zabuza, when they make the characters (and us) realize that the only thing opposing them is that they have different employers. Zabuza isn’t bad because he’s a mean guy who kills people, he’s bad because he gets in the way of their mission. Of course he conveniently works for an asshole while they work for the guy trying to lift his community from its shithole, but that’s not why they help him. They help him because he pays them to so.

Anyway, going back to the topic at hand and concluding this long-ass rant, it’s hard to infer whether Orochimaru sees them solely as pawns and expendables bodies or if he has any form of attachment to them or some to them. I found his writing to be very inconsistent and not compelling at all because it never dwells into these topics, and the narration can’t make up its mind about him. But I don't like to cast him as just a one-dimensional evil psychopath because that's… bad, y’know, and I don’t think the number of people willing to follow him should be dismissed. In many ways Orochimaru and his people him are a direct product of their world

(You obviously can answer telling things about chapters I haven't read, btw, it's okay, haha). And if it's too much, you can answer just a few, hahaha. Ahh thank you so much for this ask!!! Every time I get an ask from you my face immediately lights up ahaha. I'm so glad you like the fic??? Ahhhh! Ily too!! I hope you're having a nice day/night! I’ll only do Chapter 1 and 2 for now as to not spoil much! (I’m not sure which chapter you finished on haha.)

1: What inspired you to write the fic this way?

I really really really like stories that just flow. That literally drift. I have no idea how to describe it, but I also love poetry and I thought by kind of incorporating that and a sort of movie vibe to it it'd capture people's hearts the way it haunts mine at night hahaha. 

 2: What scene did you first put down?

It must be the scene where Naruto is sitting outside the porch and looking at the night sky. The title is Summer Nights, after all! It's supposed to hint at the fact that Naruto and Sasuke share the most tender moments at night.

3: What’s your favorite line of narration?

There's so many that I like tbh!! But here are some of my favorite ones without spoiling too much!!

Chapter 1:

The man knew Sasuke would get rid of every photographic memory of his past and there would be no remaining snapshots of his lifetime left. Behind the everyday smiles and poking around the playgrounds, fairgrounds, Sasuke never dwelled on the topics that resurfaced even the slightest of human, perhaps weak emotions. And so was the shameless irony, pouring out, like vomit. 

I wanted to capture the sense of lingering trauma that still haunts Sasuke everyday. No matter how life seemed to come to a halt, or how things seemed to finally settle down, the pain will always prevail. And in a way, Naruto is the same, even if he masks it well. I feel like this was never truly explained so I wanted to show that they are still hurting; the wounds that were meant to heal only left bitter scars in the end.  

Writing from Sasuke’s POV is always very emotion-centered. I’d imagine Sasuke, as shown in the fic, is a little more open, especially around Naruto. He let his walls down, although not by choice. He had to prove to Konoha he changed, but around Naruto, he can truly be himself.

The Uchiha was all tall, strong arms and long fingers. He fondled them for a passing minute, pressing the raven’s palms against his own. After the War, they grew quite intimate, and really, everyone talked about it. He always looked forward to touching Sasuke, even if it was small, feathery nudges - like holding hands or giving each other small hugs. It reminded him how truly privileged he was to be around him. He savoured those bosom jiffies, and that night was no different.

I really like the fact that their relationship isn’t driven by lust, but more so an understanding. There’s a mutual connection here; two boys going through absolute Hell and finally close to settling down after a rough battle against the odds. No one knows Sasuke the way Naruto does and vice versa, I think it’s quite beautiful actually! Sasuke allowing himself to become intimate again by taking these baby steps, such as touching hands and small hugs, it’s very healing for the both of them! 

They stood still in that bleached moment. The love, the joy; it was burning passionately, bringing nothing but bloom to the cheek; showing no reruns. The smile, he considered a gift.

I just really love this bit. Reading it always makes me so soft haha. I think it sums up their whole relationship perfectly. 

Chapter 2:

Sakura made him feel like an utter imbecile. Like a love-struck damsel in distress.

Here, what Sakura really sees isn’t Naruto, but herself. She knows what it’s like to chase after Sasuke, and as much as she loves the two of them, she doesn’t want Naruto to get hurt. I just think this line was really cool haha. 

People often told Sasuke how he blended into the background while Naruto stood out from the crowd when they were together. Maybe that was why everyone deemed him worthy of being the next in line. They were polar opposites; like warm and cold. Fire and water. They just didn't fit. Supposed everyone told them similar scenarios, but they did not care much about the public and its predetermined ideas of what was right and what wasn't. It was arguably, the most bizarre finger-pointing he had the displeasure of witnessing. But he guessed Naruto loved the attention.

I really like this line, and not just because of the imagery used here, but because it shows how others see Naruto and Sasuke’s relationship. And also, that short dismissive ending paragraph I found to be super effective. 

The other girl, Hinata, made an attempt to lean forward to catch Naruto’s gaze. It was what made everyone lean towards her, too, no less in a charming way that she perhaps knowingly radiated. It caused Ino to take a step back, and Sasuke must’ve stood there for a few moments, listening to the soft mumbling of her lips. They began to ask Naruto questions in low, hushed, thrilling voices as if not to let Sasuke know any of it. He knew the girl had lost her brother during the War (at which he had expressed his deepest sympathy), but he couldn’t shake off the feeling that maybe Naruto was being deceived by her shy persona.

I loved describing Hinata, but not for the reasons you might think. No one aside from Naruto has been described in such detail, but Hinata. It’s to show that Sasuke, since it’s from his POV, considers her to be a competition. He knows she knows that she can easily woo people to do her bidding, and considering her status, Naruto would certainly be charmed. 

Hinata’s own voice held a timid passion behind it; a pleasant, mellow tenor that was very subtle, especially in the way her every uttered word suggested something greater than her face might have unveiled. Her face - on the other hand - was lovely. Caring eyes and a caring mouth conveying nothing but a feeling of fresh honey and lavender. Her hands looked smooth to the touch when she grazed them against Naruto’s rather tacky ones; as if she had never worked a day in her life. He could tell Naruto enjoyed looking at her.

Again, Sasuke knows this persona that Hinata created was quite deceiving and had Naruto wrapped around her finger. That is what he thinks, and as usual, assumes things because Naruto and Hinata are close. I also really like her description here, it radiates such soft vibes haha. 

He marveled in the way his laugh carried throughout the day, forcing even the biggest assholes in the universe to crack a smile.

I really like this line because Sasuke is talking about himself here; that Naruto is always successful at making him smile. 

The attachment to the outside world and the growth of his dubious mind was what made Sasuke overthink certain situations. The way it tangled, twisted, and knotted. He wanted to fondle Naruto's hands, listen to his heartbeat as his eyes grew heavy.

Agape; the sign of unconditional love. For his one and only.

I mean? These lines absolutely slap I think haha. 

4: What’s your favorite line of dialogue?

I didn’t want to add too many so I just included a couple!

Chapter 1:

“You know, if you continue to frown like that, you’ll have lots of wrinkles in the future.”

I just love Sasuke’s attempt at comforting Naruto haha. 

Chapter 2:

“Don’t piss in my ear and tell me it’s raining, Sasuke.”

I just,, love this line so much. It always cracks me up hahaha. And of course, it’s Kakashi’s line. 

5: What part was hardest to write? 

Honestly? Probably the scene where they spar in the third chapter, as well as Gaara and Naruto's reunion! I loved writing it, but having to balance so much dialogue and narration was challenging.

6: What makes this fic special or different from all your other fics?

What makes it special, well, it's my first fanfic! I tried writing one for so long, about 4 years! And being able to finally write something and share it with others feels amazing and so relieving after so long. 

 7: Where did the title come from?

The title came from this song called Summer Nights by Siames! I think it suits Naruto and Sasuke perfectly! It's such a nice song, it always makes me cry when I listen to it haha.

8: Did any real people or events inspire any part of it?

Many, if not all interactions are based on me and my girlfriend's conversations! There are so many and she always points it out to me after reading the newest chapter.

9: Were there any alternate versions of this fic?

There was, actually! At first I wanted to write an AU canonverse version of the Akatsuki, where Naruto is exiled from the village and reunites with Sasuke. Because in this house we love evil Naruto and Kurama. But then I wanted to write something soft, something tender yknow?

I've been having this Au idea roaming in my mind Lately, Where Rin Legit is brought back to life and joins Obito on his evilness. As soon as she was brought back, Obito just hid her in a place away from the akatsuki to protect her until she wanted to come out, and be 'Tobi 2.0', and after she learned his goals, she decided to join him ( It's an Obirin Au I guess, Feel free not to answer since I'm not sure how you feel about Obirin)

I’m meh about Obirin. Like obviously i love my RinShizune for some reason (i just do) but ObiRin the only major problem i have is Kishimoto’s writing with the ‘love triangle’ bs cuz i refuse to belive rin, who is older, Loved Kakashi in a romantic way and it angers me that it is suggested.

I can’t usually see Rin going evil (i mean, i’m still angry they didn’t give us more reason’s for Obito to turn against the world. I get being angry rin died, but that’s not really ‘destroy the world’ worthy???) but i think one way her and Obito could both agree this is the plan they have to go with is seeing some of the horrible things that their friends have to continuously face and just... accept???

Rin see’s Kakashi being forced to keep quiet about his Trauma. constantly being faced with more Trauma and pain and never being able to do anything about it. She see’s Danzo and the horrible things he does and how he just, gets away with it!? That’s a huge piss off espeshally after the Uchiha massacure because Itachi is punished but Danzo and Hiruzen have nothing happen to them. They get to live their lives normally and she is pissed.

She’s definitly willing to help Obito fix the world when it’s clearly so broken and in need of change, and Obito’s glad to have a medic by his side. He makes sure to get her all of the books and anything else she needs to become an even better medic as she gets older.
