😅 What's a story or scene you've created that you're a smidge embarrassed exists?

while i wouldn't say I'm particularly embarrased by anything ive published, my personal taste and style have changed so much that a lot of my oldest fics feel (affectionately)cringy. I dont have the same sense of humor and i'm into different tropes and things.

OH WAIT i did just remember the most embarrassing thing that ever happened writing-wise was I used some other writers' that I really admired OCs in one of my fics and THEY READ THE FIC and politely asked me to change it/Not Do That which was very valid i just forgot that those characters weren't actually a part of canon anyways im not as ashamed as i used to be bc it was a while ago

also one time someone i follow on twitter live tweeted criticisms of my fic as they were reading it which was a little awkward but not so much embarrassing

it was probably some of the most interactive feedback ive ever gotten so even tho it was a little horrific it was nice to know someone was reading and engaging with it i guess?

🦅 Do you outline fics or fly by the seat of your pants?

I think I lean more towards outlining these days for sure. At least just bullet points for major beats or any dialogue/phrasing i want to make sure i include. Im also moving away from like... unplanned serial publishing which i do kind of miss but it allows the finished product to be a lot more cohesive and hopefully better paced. Usually by the time i sit down to write ive already done a god amount of planning in my phone notes app or at least my Brain and then from there i will most likely throw down some bullet points.
