Hello everyone! I apologize for the long absence along with the on and off vibe given these last couple of months. As a little resume, this year hasn't been the easiest in terms of emotions and health, but, after a period of struggle, a kind of balanced footing has been found these days so there is hope to get back on track with sharing more astrological posts. It won't be the same as it was at the beggining of the year or the last one, but I will try to keep it moving.

After saying this, now I have come with another asteroid post that could be interesting to know and that is Memoria (1247), which, in english, means memory.

This asteroid in the natal chart could represent on how does our memory work and what things our memory tend to keep so, in this post, I will describe how does our memory work based on sign and house placement.

Aries/1st house These natives have a very quick mind. Ruoska 2nd verse analysis

Aka why there's a reference to a 20+ year-old sports scandal in this song that on the surface is about BDSM.

(Fuck you Kä for making me write a 1500+ word analysis on a reference in one verse of a song and also for forcing me to learn more about Lahti 2001 than I've ever wanted. /j)

Okay, I was already having thoughts about the second verse of Ruoska, which has lots of references to the doping controversy of FIS Nordic World Ski Championships held in Lahti in 2001 aka the biggest sports doping scandal in Finland. The MV gave new context for that part and made the use of the whole reference make a lot more sense to me, enough to develop those thoughts into a semi-coherent analysis (I'm not kidding about this being semi-coherent, I've spent most of the day writing this. You've been warned.).

This analysis does require me to talk about The Lahti 2001 doping scandal a lot. I’ve decided to focus on what I remember from the aftermath of it, especially the Finnish public opinion and reaction, as it is the most relevant part of it for this analysis. In the MV, there’s this about 20s pause between the first chorus and the second verse, where the song just stops and people looking at their phones form a circle at the edges of the spotlight (where Käärijä and Erika are) and hate comments aimed at both of them are shown on screen.

After the pause, we get the second verse:

“Lunta on tullut tupaan niin paljon et tarvii sukset / Gotten so much snow in the house that I need skis

On luokkaa Kari-Pekka nää ahdistukset / At level with Kari-Pekka with these anxieties

Et taloyhtiössä on kosteudenmittaukset/ That the housing cooperative takes humidity measurements

Kun rappukäytävän portailla on hemon virtaukset/ When there's massive tides* on the stairs in the stairway”

*added context to this line that gets lost in translation is that the substance flowing down the stairs in the stairway is called “hemo” in the original lyrics. Now, I’ve interpreted it to be either blood/hemoglobin or Hemohes (which is the brand(?) name of the banned blood plasma expander substance that people were caught using in the Lahti 2001 doping scandal. Either way, this detail is relevant enough for this analysis.

The idiom "tulla lunta tupaan" (to get snow in the house/living room) means to get misfortune, but I think I've seen it also used to mean getting (excessive) adversity/criticism for something (wrong) you've done (from the public, usually).

There certainly is something fucked up and rather telling that from what I’ve seen, many of Finnish fans old enough to remember Lahti 2001 (me included) needed only to hear "skis" and "Kari-Pekka" to get the doping scandal reference. After all, this is a rather subtle (as in, only Kari-Pekka Kyrö’s, one of the head coaches of the ski team, first name is mentioned in the song!) reference to a scandal that happened over 20 years ago. But it also tells you how big of a deal that doping scandal was for Finns, especially since it happened in cross-country skiing aka one of our pride and joy sports, and how much (perceived) shame was involved on national level.

And oh boy, did that sense of national shame get projected back to the public opinion about the people involved in the scandal. The scandal did have massive and long-lasting repercussions on the careers and the reputations of the people involved in Finland, way beyond the official disqualifications and suspensions. These people went from being celebrated athletes and ski team members that everyone was proud of to being mostly, or even only, remembered for being caught using doping. Their past (and future) achievements suddenly didn’t either matter anymore or, thanks to the doping scandal, were regarded with suspicion.

There’s also a layer added to this by the media’s role and involvement in all this that I’m not going to get into here. Only thing from the media side I’m going to point out is that big part of kicking off this incident was the investigation and subsequent article by Helsingin Sanomat crime journalist that revealed damning evidence of the systematic use of doping substances in the Finnish ski team.

The point is, yes they did wrong, and yes they did deserve the (official) consequences to their careers and a hit in their public images, but everything else? The figurative lashing (pun intended) they got from the media and the public? The media and the public refusing to forget and move on from that incident years after the fact and in the process probably not letting them move on from it properly, either? Being remembered only for your mistakes? That was excessive, way out of proportion to what the crime in question was.

Bringing this back to the song, the MV, and the artists:

This reference, especially with the MV context just made me think of the topic of public opinion of celebs and how quickly it can turn against you, even if you’re currently seen as a “hero” of sorts, like Finland’s ski team was in 2001 or Käärijä is now.

It also made me think of how Finns often tend to be jealous of other people's success (the good ol’ belief that there’s a finite amount of luck/happiness in the world and so other people having luck/success is to blame if you don’t have it is still deeply ingrained in us even if we don’t realize it). Like, there are always people who hate someone more successful or famous than them simply because they are successful/famous.

Also, there's often a sense of schadenfreude involved from certain parts of the public when someone famous does something bad/wrong. Something that (in public perception) "justifies" the negative turn in the public opinion on that person, regardless of how bad/wrong the thing actually was and if the reaction is actually proportionate to it. And especially in famous people’s case, there are always people who are just waiting for them to misstep, to fall, just so they can go “see? I knew they were a bad person all along, that’s why I disliked them!”. Or hell, we’ve even seen people who are constantly waiting for the moment a famous person does something that can be twisted into a controversy, or even hounding them to do something or react to something in a way that paints them in a negative light.

Now, I don't think the hate comments seen in the MV are comparable to what happened after the doping scandal (nor that are they meant to be that), and I don’t claim to know what kinds of hate Käärijä and Erika get usually but I doubt that’s comparable either. But there are some noticeable, if much smaller scale, similarities to some controversies they’ve been a part of and the media/public reaction to those. Which does make the doping scandal an effective reference to use to get the point of (often excessive) negative reactions/comments to everything you do across.

So, when the hate comment pause happened in the MV and the second verse started, it felt like the missing puzzle pieces fitting into their places, and being able to see what the second verse is trying to say. Or my interpretation of it, anyway.

The first line is rather straightforward, mentioning getting enough "snow" (aka adversity/criticism/hate, not misfortune like I thought before) into their lives ("house" in the song) that they need equipment/tools ("skis") to help them wade through it, just to keep living their lives.

The line mentioning Kari-Pekka, and anxiety at the same level as his, is interesting. Because on the one hand, he did take the blame for the doping scandal and was, according to his own words, “the most hated man in Finland” at the time. On the other hand, he did get a lot of publicity and was offered a job as a crisis consultant to teach people how to lie believably, because he appeared so calm, collected, and confident in the media during the scandal. So, while on the surface this line is about having a lot of anxiety due to the hate they’re getting, well, the dude whose anxiety levels they’re likening their own to doesn’t seem (to appear) anxious at all despite shouldering most of the blame and hate for such a big scandal, does he? Hell, he got job opportunities thanks to how not-anxious he appeared in that situation.

And the following lines, I've interpreted to be about other people having to acknowledge the damage from those hate comments seeping into their own lives as well because, depending on what "hemo" is interpreted as, either the cause of that hate (hemohes) or a rather visible representation of the pain caused by the hate (blood) is flooding the stairway now. The pain or the cause of the hate others have let into their living spaces/lives is out in the public space now. And going by the next line “Ja mä tahdon jäädä siitä kiipeliin (kiipeliin)/ And I want to get in trouble for it (in trouble)” it’s happening they intentionally let it out into the public in the first place, because they want to get in trouble for it?

There’s something fascinating about that. About acknowledging that they’re getting hate anyway, so they might as well intentionally and publicly do things that people are going to send them hate for. But also acknowledging the hate they’re getting and making other people acknowledge it as well, refusing to keep it hidden and letting it rot only their own lives.

And then continuing that yeah, we’re getting whipped/hated on for everything we do, but

Yu Shi and Alima Mayutian (as Batay and Tokan from To the Wonder)

In a way you can argue Batay was the male lead of the show but also, To the Wonder didn't really fit the usual parameters of a romcom drama and if anything, the FL and her mom were the main leads.

The roles of brother-in-law and sister-in-law pair of Batay and Tokan followed close behind as the new generation Kazakh ethnic youth who are equal parts fond of their simple, slow life in the grassland but are also tied down by it.

Batay and his beloved horse Snowshoe and Tokan and the Washboard she never got were highlights of the show. And these two actors gave a MAGNIFICENT performance in these two roles.

14. Favorite Villains

Shen Yurong (Liang Yongqi) and Grand Princess Wanning (Li Meng) from The Double were a great example of toxic and problematic done right. From start to end they were both very fascinating, full-fledged characters, their backstories were sound even though that didn't excuse that they were truly horrible people. At some point I found out I even felt sympathy for them. The show didn't try to put them forth like the next hot thing ever, instead presenting them as they are and letting the audience make their judgement; hence resulting in them stealing the screen from the main couple without even trying lol. 👏👏👏

Ling Jiushi (Huang Junjie) and Ruan Lanzhu (Xia Zhiguang) from The Spirealm

I watched “The Starry Love” mainly because I wanted to laugh. It fit what I needed it to be, not a complicated plot, nothing revolutionary, some parts felt low budget, it was cliche-ridden but was funny, hilarious really. I enjoyed this drama very much! I actually found myself looking forward to the next episode each time. I did not fancy anyone, to me the attractive guy was the Void King. I very much liked Yetan, the female lead who looked very familiar so when I finished the last episode, I looked her up. While there, I clicked on the male lead actors profile and scrolled down to see what the fans says. At the time when I looked up, the 2nd comment had a youtube link saying he has archery skills. This all took 5 minutes from looking up Li Landy to  looking up Chen Xingxu's profile. I clicked on the link, I just searched the archery part of the video and well, I saw the side profile and dammit, he looks attractive here.

I realized late 2022 that the combination of a defined jawline, neck, smooth skin, adams apple, and the way the adams apple roll when speaking has become a kryptonite of sorts. Add hands as well. I don’t know what’s happening to me! *face plam*

Thought of the evening:

I’m only just now becoming OBSESSED with Sui/Han (the pairs team from china 🇨🇳)

They for me are the VM of the Pairs worlds, and I don’t just mean their GOAT status (if not then by far one of the best ever) athletic prowess.

I mean they have what TS have- that thing that some claim to be madly in love (but not that), or that once in a million years magically unexplainable connection (my take on it), and an intimacy/chemistry on the ice that can’t be created out of thin air- it’s some written in the stars kinda shit.

They make me feel a similar way to TS do. Like time stands still, like they truly are in a bubble, like the air is thinner and only they can hear the music. Everyone watching is holding their breathe, you don’t want it to end, it’s so seamless, there’s never a major struggle.

As well as all that there is a tonne of uncannily similar stuff. They were paired up very young (not quite as young as TS but maybe even more so in pairs being put together then staying together from a young age is so rare because growing, teenage years etc..) I’m not sure if they were each other first partners, if not have obviously never separated since being put together. She had very serious injuries (both ankles) that required surgery and were potentially career ending (before the first surgery where they placed 2nd at worlds in 2016 he said they may not be competing ever again if the surgery doesn’t work). They have a very distinct lack of height difference (and height in general for pairs) which was something that always seemed to be a thing about TS- their lack of height difference and especially growing up if she got too tall it wouldn’t work out. It’s in fact a super power of both teams.

They are both the only two ‘couples’ skaters (pairs and ice dance) to win a Super Career Grand Slam (every major international competition in both juniors and seniors).

To be fair it’s not that I’m only NOW becoming obsessed. I desperately wanted them to win the olys this year- after their mission impossible SP I was like wholly fuck! And then their Bridge Over Troubled Water FP (which I later found out they re used the music but the program is totally different), and while I hate the fact that is was not the S+G version of the song I’m still in love with that program.

I’m essentially going down a rabbit hole like I did with VM the (2nd, 3rd time I got obsessed with them.. can’t remember) but I’m going so slow coz I just keep watching the same programs over and over.

Rn I CAN NOT stop watching their Rain In Your Black Eyes FP from 2019 worlds. I’ve watched it maybe 6 times and I’m borderline crying/ have chills every time.

Their chore in general is amazing!! Laurie Nichol does chore for lots of skaters but this is another instance like with VM where the very very best make actual magic from their chore.

They just have this intimacy and while it’s not as emotional and romantic as TS’s it’s still so moving and draws you in and gives you those feels that last for ages after you’ve watched them- that feeling that you really want to give them a hug afterwards coz you feel like they really laid their hearts on the line for you and you just want to make sure they’re ok.

It’s that thing like with TS that you can feel them communicating- not just talking (apparently SH also talk in their programs) but you can FEEL them communicating.

I’ve never felt this way with any other dance team and I honestly didn’t think I’d ever feel it from a pairs team at all. And honestly it is so surprising it’s a Chinese team illiciting this reaction. While trying not to play into stereotypes, it’s hard for me coz I’m so invested in geo politics but I’ve always found it hard to root for countries like china (also Russia and USA) and along with that in terms of artistic sports it is just typical that those eastern (block) teams are more technical and in general less emotionally compelling. But SH do not feel like any typical eastern block team. It’s almost astonishing their emotional presentation. They can be (in their own way- not the same a TS) sexy, seductive, romantic, intense, vulnerable. All those things and sometimes all at once and it’s amazing it’s giving me chills writing about it.

I even feel like I have a vague recollection of reading that SH are very inspired by TS and the way they move and they get a lot of inspiration from their innovation in lifts and dance chore (coz SH have insanity beautiful choreographic moments) Idk I could be making all that up to justify my obsession but I really do feel like I have (If someone knows what I’m talking about please hmu with facts)

The way they are in their partnership as well- and this is piggy backing off some commentary, he sets her off- he makes her the star, she is a star, but he makes sure people know it (just like Scott does with Tessa) but to be that good- to not distract from your partner but be soooo good in your own right in every part of it makes him just as good as her (same as TS). Their connection, they way they handle each other (out of chore) has similar qualities (again going back to the stereotypes talk is so refreshing to see from a Chinese team) once again not the exact same way but just this comfort and trust in each other that only comes from being together so long (but even then other long time partners don’t have this- it’s soooo rare).

So so far I’ve watched their 2016, 2017, 2018 2019, 2022 (these are the worlds/oly years) programs. Their shorts are always fire I’m obsessed with all of them. Their frees my faves are RIYBE (2019) and BOTW from this year in particular. Oh and turandot from 2018 olys (wasn’t perfect but is brilliant as well).

So fear not this is not gonna stop being a TS blog, I just need to say this coz while I watch a tonne of FS (mostly in the background while I sew) i don’t particularly love it or connect to a lot of it- there’s alot that bothers me about it (it’s relation to dance and now that I’ve learned about the more technical side of it the flutzers and the likes really piss me off..) but SH are special like TS are and so I just need to say it.

This post is for anyone else obsessed with SH- I’ve now boarded the ship (that maybe/has departed.. are they gonna keep competing, what’s the story with china are they banned like Russia- I didn’t think so but typical I fall in love with a team after they retire). And for anyone else who isn’t really a FS person and is just here for VM please go watch this team if you want the closest possible thing to TS but more ‘tricks’ (that’s the other thing about pairs I find it hard to connect to coz the elements are more ‘circus-y’. And generally less connection even compared to the most bland of dance couples).

Hikaru’s 1st Stage Play 「GOOD LUCK YOUR MEMORIES：Re」  First Reaction

OH MY GOD! This was surprisingly good (and heart-wrenching)! I really love the premise of this story. After watching it once I am still a little confused about a few details but I’m pretty sure I understood 90% of it. The production is simple but very effective and they did a great job recording the whole thing. I was worried it would be mostly bad audio, a ton of shaky cam and wide shots where you could barely make out anything. Super glad to have been proven wrong. And let me tell you, Hikaru’s acting is top-notch, I am so impressed. I mean, I had utmost faith in my queen of drama but I couldn’t quite envision how it would turn out. Her role isn’t too challenging I suppose but she does have a few big scenes which she absolutely nails! Her final scene with Takuma and Yui is utterly heartbreaking, Hikaru literally made me cry.

On a random side note, I cannot believe we are getting some full-on yuri action here🤩🤗. I think it was Hikaru’s manager who said that this isn’t really yuri despite what it may look like but you know what they say, if it walks like a duck...😂 For anyone who is getting their panties in a twist due to the implied inc*est, don’t worry, they aren’t really sisters.

Detailed Summary (beware of spoilers): “I will surely return to collect my reward - your memories!” Takuma - a run-of-the-mill private investigator, Seiji - a nerdy officer of an anti crime unit and Kosuke - a wannabe gangster. Three men that have been close friends since their school days. Despite their conflicting professions, they promised they would never interfere with each other’s work and have thus remained close. This changes when a mysterious woman named Shizuku (=Hikaru) suddenly appears on the scene. Wanting to escape her current life, Shizuku has chosen to run away but she is being chased by her older sister Itsuki. The men step in to help her and decide to take her under their wing. For the first time in her life, she experiences friendship and kindness, especially during her interactions with Takuma’s assistant Yui. After a while, the three friends find out about Shizuku’s special abilities. Everyone who enters a contract with her may go back in time to change a moment they regret. Initially, the men do not believe her story but when both Kosuke and Seiji find themselves in a predicament, they are willing to make a pact with Shizuku. Her powers turn out to be in fact genuine and both men manage to change a past event in their favour. Basically, the course of history is changed. The only one who remains mysteriously unaffected by all of this is Takuma. As memories are lost, personality slowly changes and humanity is stripped away, the two men become corrupted. This results in a lethal showdown between the yakuza and the anti-crime-force that threatens to destroy the entire city. As Takuma watches the drama unfold he wants to protect his friends, discover the secrets behind Shizuku’s abilities and reveal the true motives of the mysterious Itsuki. Alas, he is powerless in the face of organised crime and ultimately cannot stop his former friends from killing each other and taking several people with them. Shizuku is heartbroken to witness how her actions have indirectly caused so much pain and death.She feels like she has no other choice but to kill her sister Itsuki in order to put a stop to this endless suffering. However, before Shizuku can finish the deed, Itsuki manages to fatally wound her younger sister. With her final breath, Shizuku makes a pact with Takuma. Lives are restored, the trajectories of Seiji’s and Kosuke’s careers are completely changed leading to a happy and fruitful life for both of them. The price that needs to be paid - the erasure of Takuma’s existence from people’s minds. Takuma being an anomaly, is able to keep his memories but he is now living together with Shizuku in another dimension where they have been forgotten by everyone they have come to love.
