some thoughts about the current dealings in ferrari: or, why i’m optimistic 

fred has stated that he expects performance that should be the standard in top teams and everyone will be judged on merit. if you can’t deliver, you’re out - that’s exactly the kind of mentality you should have in a top team. it’s a competitive sport, not a charity. the fact that fred has started firing people or they’ve started leaving means that the performance was NOT up to the standards, and looking at how the team was in the past years, it shouldn’t come as a surprise.

what’s more, most of these people are from the binotto era. they’re his proteges, and we could quite often see that they were a bunch of incompetent fools who did nothing to improve, because binotto refused to point out people at fault and never accepted the blame. now that binotto’s gone they don’t have that protection from consequences anymore, and that’s what we’re seeing right now. 

overall, i know the state of ferrari right now looks concerning, but i believe it’s for the better. short term instability for long term improvement or, if you want to get poetic: remove dead tissue for new healthy one to grow
