NOT HELPFUL AT ALL, somehow manages to break everything. (0/10 partner, made me cry afterwards. this is why i hate children /j)

you've got like a 50/50 chance of surviving this thing. winwin's scared out of his wits when it comes to haunted houses, but in an actual stressful situation he thinks very logically. given the right circumstance, he doesn't make dumb choices, and can actually progress through the haunted house fairly easy. his only flaw is that when he gets jumpscared he has extreme reactions and always is on the floor. (6/10 partner, just make sure he isn't pulling you to the ground as well.)

haechan

no sane person would pick him, are you okay? i mean he's kinda unpredictable. either cackling and laughing his ass off or sobbing or straight faced the whole time. when he's scared he demands to be carried, like tf? thought you were supposed to protect me. whatever. actually kinda smart and helpful though like if you're lucky you two can get out just fine. (7/10 partner, because at least he isn't gonna leave you alone to die, you'll die together.)

get ready for snarky comments on everything, "i wonder if these people are getting paid minimun wage." or "whoever designed this place needs to go to jail why is everything so ugly looking." he's a NERVOUS WRECK though. starts yapping when he's scared. telling the scare actors to "wait pls" (they won't love you like i love you) they don't listen to him though... very tense, movements are stiff, he has like a 25% chance of actually being helpful. (2.5/10 partner, someone tell him to move faster.)

jaehyun

you picked the nonchalant king himself! he'd probably be a bit scared, maybe a few jerks or flinches from the jumpscares, but nothing too bad. probably laughs at the actors or at the situation, but it's not a mocking laugh. very helpful and you'll definitely make it out of there alive! if you're easily scared no worries! he'll be fine carrying you if he has to. give yourself a pat on the back, you picked well. (10/10 partner i have no complaints)

someone save this poor baby and you because you two are also not making it out alive today. not very loud screams, but oh my god he clutches his chest and bucks his knees like he's heard the worst news of his life. 15,000 mental breakdowns in the span of a minute. asks random obvious questions and is curious about everything. he's too lost in his own head and thoughts to be really helpful, plus he's too scared to try anything so you really aren't progressing further unless you lock in. (2/10 partner, i love you ji but i gotta survive)

honey idk who lied to you but riku is not brave at all. another stumbler, he's tripping all over the place, sometimes you wonder whether it's on purpose or not. no cause this man spends more time on the floor then actually on his feet. when he's collected himself and believes that there's no reason to be scaried he's gonna aegyo his ass off. which doesn't work lol. might as well use him as a meat shield atp. (3/10 partner, good meat shield /j)

yushi

also a 50/50. very very very helpful and knowledgeable when it comes to solving clues and mysteries. but when it comes to progressing forward and interacting with the scare actors he's not in his element. asks "who's there" as if anyone would answer. also in denial half of the time, "oh it's not that sc- AHJH SHHHH-" runs around and clings to something, probably your arm. (7/10 partner, just the two of us, we can make it if we try! )

i asked to survive not a distraction for my fears and worries. why is bro singing???? we're supposed to be working and solving the puzzles, no more distractions pls!! he's going to terrorize you just because it's funny, but i'm in a haunted house NOT A COMEDY CLUB. when it comes to solving clues he cooks dogshit!! nobody let him back into a haunted house thanks! (0/10 partner, i need the scare actor to mercy kill me atp)

why. you know better than to pick him. 100% will scream as loud as he can and sacrifice you in -119 seconds. laughing mess. he's like sakuya and will leave you to fend for yourself. he dngaf. will also terrorize you because it's "funny". unless it's a competition he will not help you at all and pretends like he's helping but he's not doing anything except goofing around. try again. (-143/100 partner, except he doesn't love you like in the skz song)

you make it out of there purely off of johnny’s dumbass luck. i’m serious. as soon as he’s jump-scared he puts his hands up and turns around like “helll naahhhh” and then he starts scolding the scare actor like he’s their dad ???? or something ?? why the fuck did this turn into a big ass therapy session about how the scare actor could turn their life around and use their talents for something more rewarding in life? (9/10 partner, you only make it out of there because the scare actor tearfully tells you the answers to all the clues and promises johnny he’ll work on bettering himself.)

if you thought his leader mode self would activate you are wrong. completely wrong. first of all he TRIES to act calm and mature, but fails miserably. also he forces you to do everything, go first, because bro is ACTUALLY A COWARD ISTG. at least he's pretty decent at solving problems, but when he gets jump-scared he's too terrified to function, like if was by himself he would get himself killed. (-4/10 partner, i asked for a good partner not a manchild)

going with the other non-chalant king is also a fairly good choice! except he's even more unbothered and unfazed than jaehyun, you're wondering if you should be more scared of him than the actors. feel bad for the actors though like they get a kick out of scaring people and he's just like "heh. that's funny" not very helpful with puzzles though so you might have to do that yourself! (8/10 partner, you'll probably survive, but you'll do most of the work unfortunately.)

i think the only other person you could pick that's worse than him on this list is taeyong. CONSTANTLY CLINGING TO YOUR ARM. savagely trying to crack jokes but is scared out of his wits for sure. he's okay with solving clues, renjun is smart, just don't pressure or tease him or he might actually snap. honestly just don't pick renjun to be your partner. (-127/10 partner, why are we still here? just to suffer?)

you are 100 percent getting killed today !! congratulations !! or maybe you wanted that? poor bubu was not cut out for this line of work okay. he screams the loudest screams you've ever heard, does not function normally after the first scare. you could've picked anyone else and maybe you would've had a 99.99% chance of dying instead of 100. better than kun maybe on par with winwin i'd say. his leader mode is definitely more active here, also tries to play up and be brave, gets scared very easily but it's okay. he reacts quickly and that's honestly all that matters in a haunted house bc if you can get out of that inital shock and think logically about the situation you can survive about anything. very good with puzzles i don't think he's a bad option! (8/10 partner, jaehyun maybe enlisting in a couple of days but at least we have sion)

might be the one of the best options out of all of these clowns. but again nct is a circus and they are so unpredictable. i would feel safe with jeno though. he's suspiciously quiet, and not very reactive when it comes to the scares. very smart too like he solves the puzzles in seconds too. take jeno with you and you are LIVING TO SEE THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL! (12/10 partner, very satisfied would recommend. )

xiaojun

you picking xiaojun is like whoever tf seulgi is singing to that knows 28 reasons to run away but chooses to depend on her anyways. LIKE CMON. xiaojun definitely scares himself. also he's really loud in general like you need something to shut him up with. bad at puzzles, okay with scares, idk if you're gonna survive broski. (2/10 partner, maybe xiaojun has dumb luck and you'll survive, who knows.)

ryo

way more mature than sakuya, i'm convinced you will actually survive! this little maltese is very brave and will definitely go first if you're too scared. also willing to throw hands but let's talk about that later you will make it out of there in decent time, and not struggle that much. may get a little bit scared, but he regains his courage very easily! (10/10 partner, guys i love ryo a lot. he's literally my child.)

yes jaemin is a good pick, he’s not that phased by scare actors and will even try to talk to some of them about their day. spreads positivity but will probably mock you for being too scared if you get scared by the jump-scares. if you can deal with that you should be fine. he’s not as good as jeno is with the puzzles but can hold his own weight fairly well. “can we go again?” absolutely not. (8/10 partner, would’ve been higher but for that last comment he’s getting marked down a couple of points.)

jungwoo

just because this man isn’t vocal when he’s scared does not mean he isn’t shitting himself right now. instead of screaming, he opts to stumble and fall instead. any little noise will make him jump, even if it’s caused by himself. closes his eyes because “i can’t get scared if i can’t see them!” he was incorrect. jungwoo can in fact get scared if he can’t see them. (0/10 partner, no negatives for jungwoo but you probably won’t survive.)

best option in my opinion. the only leader who calms down the fastest and reacts the best. i mean he deals with haechan and chenle on a daily basis so he has some practice. all his years of testing his patience has prepared him for this moment. deep inside he’s paranoid as hell, but that really doesn’t distract him from getting you two out of there as quickly as he can. extremely motivated and works hard to solve the puzzles. (17/10 partner, much better than his egg making abilities!)

he thought it was going to be fun. it was not. “this was NOT a good idea. oh MY GOd-“ pointing to every little thing, “did you see that”. okay but his prediction game is kinda on point though. thanks to his paranoia he manages to predict all the jumpscares. so eventually you two come up with a plan to scare the actors themselves which actually works surprisingly, and lessens your worries about the whole thing. maybe it was fun after all. (8/10 partner, you got banned from coming back though)

yangyang

now most of y’all might think that yy will whine and scream and cry in a haunted house. and, you’re not wrong! but in terms of the pussy-ness scale against the rest of these clowns, yangyang is actually pretty good at this. he’ll flinch, react, scream, and run away, but he takes the lead. willingly to go first, even if he himself is shaking in his thousand dollar shoes the entire time. good at puzzles too! (7/10 partner, so good so bad like whatever zb1 said!)

option 1: bittersweet a slightly angsty 'confession on the tip of your tongue but never said'. very canon compliant bc i really love writing as cc as i can and there is something about ooc i despise. i'll write like cute pre plasma arc slice of life scenes ofc. but smth about a symbolic bittersweet 'i love you' but never said is so appealing. i want to write something so horrifically bittersweet you don't know whether to HATE me or not.

i'm the strongest after all, is it wrong i'm hurt by the fact that a goal you'll never achieve was more important to you than me. be lucky that my love for you is more than my want. you knew i never cared about jujutsu society or for the weak. but i'll never tell you that you were all that mattered. as i saw you standing there like you never cared i realised i prefer cherishing my memories of you than to risk ruining them for you

option 2: cute high school fall in love okay the plasma vessel arc will happen, but instead of it all going wrong and sour (i'm still killing that girl) they continue on with their days but eventually there's a confession. they talk things out? i get to finally say how IDIOTIC geto's whole ideology is because i've got annoyances for days.

i perhaps just want to use every trope i get my grimy long fingers on and yank it in there because i'm nasty like that idk 🤷‍♂️ (ex: 5 + 1 things, they end up at the gojo mansion for no reason at one point, "cherry flavoured. want to taste?", basketball but there's flirting, gojo wearing crazy outfits for attention, truth or dare,)

love makes you do crazy things. he used to be the easiest person to be around. but gradually, without me noticing, it's no longer comfortable. wanting him to like me, no longer not even thinking about it because i knew he did. is he tolerating me now because we"re friends or now i'm wondering if he's even friends with me because he likes me or because i'm 'the strongest'? whatever that's meant to mean.

my final opinion:

this was originally going to be a kfc breakup but gojo tweaks out and goes "nah uh". because i couldn't actually fathom how someone how went crazy insane when dealing with toji round 2 just let geto go like that. but what changed my mind was that if i was gojo, i would've acted the exact same way he did. so i was going to write the bittersweet one showcasing what gojo wanted to do, but never ended up doing. however then i thought about the fact that i was him, i would've badly confessed during high school.

i'm also REAL sick of people mischaracterising the both of them. getting this close 🤏 to making a whole new post about how i think the should be characterised and why everyone should follow suit with my opinion.

Yangyang's voice holds more vitriol than you've probably ever heard from him, and that's how you know that you and Renjun - mostly Renjun - have officially crossed a line.

"It was just a joke," says Renjun.

You smile, but it feels more like a grimace on your face. "Obviously it was a little-"

"I mean, sorry if you're sensitive about it," he continues, absolutely unapologetic. "Like, okay, Xiao Dejun, way to be mad about nothing."

Yangyang fixes him with a look that would send a lesser zodiac sign running. "I told you to get out of my room."

Renjun, Aries sun, just shrugs. "If it wasn't true, you wouldn't be so mad."

But Renjun does leave, and you follow him out, giving Yangyang another pleading smile that he misses entirely as he turns around to clamp his headphones over his ears and glare at his computer screen.

What was supposed to be a chill night in Yangyang's apartment is ruined. His roommate is out of town and everything (Ten is cool but he's overbearing, and he wins every single board game that the lot of you try to drunkenly play, so you don't miss him this time).

But Renjun had been bragging about his latest hookup-turned-Something, with an insufferable guy from the music department, when the cursed line had been uttered.

Yangyang had showed about three seconds of disinterest, and Renjun had snapped, "At least I'm getting some. Not like some adult virgins we know."

It was vague but pointed, undeniably mean. Renjun can be mean, everyone knows that, but it's not usually used against any of the friend group. That's why, at this sudden slight from one of his closest friends, Yangyang immediately blushed an angry pink and lost his shit.

The two of you were banished from Yangyang's bedroom, where the PS5 is, but not from the apartment yet, so Renjun makes himself at home on the couch while you head to the kitchen for a beverage of some kind. And to clear your head.

You'd never even thought about Yangyang's virginity status before. Why would you? He's your friend, a dorm neighbor from freshman year who turned into a friend after one too many floor parties spent together.

Renjun really called him out, and from the over-the-top anger he'd received in return, you can't help but think that Renjun was one hundred percent right. You go on the occasional date that the boys know about, and Renjun is mostly out of his thot phase now but there was a while back there when he was getting around impressively. Ten, Kun, Chenle...even Dejun has incredible cringefail dick game.

But Yangyang...

"Did you really have to say that?" you ask, joining Renjun on the couch with a bottled coffee thing that you're pretty sure is Ten's.

He glances at the drink. "Ten-ge is gonna be pissed."

"Because you were kind of out of pocket."

"I didn't think he'd be so..." Renjun sighs. "I'll apologize when he chills out."

That's a good plan, in theory.

Only in theory, though, because Yangyang doesn't chill out. Not for the rest of the evening.

After another hour or so on the couch with you, Renjun knocks on his bedroom door, to no answer. He calls it a night and heads home soon after that.

You stick around.

The dude very obviously had his feelings hurt, and eventually he's going to need to talk about it. Ten is usually the one who gets Yangyang to open up, but he's not here, so you think you're probably the next best thing. A very far second.

It's a dumb thing for anyone to be upset about. Especially someone as interesting and funny as Yangyang, someone so cute, so attracti-

Well. No reason to go overboard.

You knock on Yangyang's door, this time. It's late now, creeping closer to midnight, but you know that Yangyang doesn't sleep until the sun comes up again.

He doesn't answer. You knock harder.

The door flies open, Yangyang's snarling face on the other side. "Jesus fuck, Renjun, go shove a-"

"He went home," you interrupt.

"Then you should-"

"Can we talk?" you ask. "Pretty please?"

"About what? All the ass I'm not getting?"

You shrug. "If that's how you wanna phrase it, I guess."

It wouldn't surprise you if Yangyang stuck to his guns on this, but he sighs. He lets the door fall open more, as he turns on his heel to head back to his gaming chair.

"Can't wait until Hyuck and the whole hip-hop team know that I'm perpetually bitchless," Yangyang says.

There's a second of pause while you try desperately to figure out who Hyuck is - Renjun's fuckbuddy, that's it. The mop-headed one that Ten hates. And then you move to sit on Yangyang's bed.

"Renjun wouldn't do that," you say. "He felt really bad."

"He never feels bad."

That's kind of true, but still. "You guys are friends. He wouldn't wanna, like, fuck up your life on that scale."

"People are gonna know that I'm bitchless, and then no one will ever talk to me again."

"Stop saying bitchless, it's weird," you say. "And I really don't think anyone cares."

Yangyang spins his chair around to face you, your knees nearly touching as he looks at you with imploring puppy eyes. "It's not like I'm not trying, dude."

"Third-wheeling Ten to Johnny Suh's frat parties does not count as trying."

He ignores you. "I wanna get laid. It's just a lot of work, and people are so fake, and-"

"Just fuck someone you know," you interrupt. "It's either a total stranger, or someone you know well. Those are the best choices.

"Really?"

"In my experience, yes."

There's a beat of silence, and then, slowly, Yangyang's face breaks into a devious, awful grin.

It takes you another few seconds to figure it out.

"No!"

"Oh, come on!" he whines.

"Not if we were the last two people on earth!"

"You're already here!"

You scoff. "Oh, yeah, because that helps your case so much. Just what everyone wants to hear. 'You're convenient!'"

"It's not like that," Yangyang says. "You know I think you're amazing."

You're unreasonably touched, for an instant, by his choice of flattery. Not hot, not cool. Amazing.

"I know you're desperate, but it's a bad idea," you say.

But even as you protest, you know how you feel.

Yangyang is a good friend, a buddy. He's also irresistibly charming and quick, increasingly handsome as he's grown into his features over the few years you've known him. You've kind of got a soft spot for him, more than for any of your other friends, and you're suspecting that he kind of knows it.

"Fine," he says. "I'm just going to deal with my virg sadness by rubbing one out."

"Ew."

As if daring you, Yangyang slips his stupid cutoff tee over his head, standing there in just his low-slung shorts. He dramatically walks the semicircle around you and flops down on his back on the other side of the bed. You eye the pale jut of his ribs against his skinny torso, the wispiest excuse for a happy trail-

"You can leave. Or you can stick around," he says. "Y'know. If you want."

"You wouldn't dare-"

But he dares, hands going to the buckle of his thick cloth belt.

Well.

Ten's not home, and won't be home all week. Renjun is gone.

You stand up from the bed, as Yangyang is still undoing his belt with agonizing slowness, and slam and lock his bedroom door. Can't be too careful. Lots of people know the passcode to get in here. And the last thing you want is Guanheng or Chenle or someone coming in here and seeing this.

Seeing you, as you throw the last of your caution right out the slightly-popped window and climb right onto the bed again.

Right onto Yangyang.

He yelps, like he thinks you're attacking him, as you move to sit on top of his thighs, effectively pinning him to the mattress. The open belt and button of his shorts is tempting, though the thick band of his boxers has been visible the whole time anyway.

Yangyang's face, however, is just intrigued. Flustered, a bit, but not scared. His hands twitch against his covers like he wants to touch you, but isn't sure if he can.

"Do you actually wanna be un-virginized?" you ask, annoyed despite all of your interest (how did you get here?!).

He nods as well as he can, hair fanning against his pillow. "So badly."

Your heart is fluttering. You hate to admit it.

"Then it's your lucky day."

You had three projects open on your computer, bouncing back and forth between them as your brain went wild with ideas. You were a little annoyed that no one seemed to mash WayV with anything else, and had seen several comments saying it was because it’s in Chinese; as if Korean music doesn’t have English in it all the time. You had also wanted to mash an OnlyOneOf song with something else, and you had a couple songs by ‘nugu’ groups that you wanted to mash with songs by bigger groups, because you felt they deserved the exposure; maybe… Trigger by Craxy with Paint the Town by Loona? You were still deciding. Or maybe even a ‘nugu’ mega mashup at some point, to show all the people who only listen to groups from the big four that other groups actually exist, and just because something comes from a popular company, doesn’t mean it’s good. Then you could do a girl group one and a boy group one, and that’d be two videos and twice the amount of groups you could turn people on to. You leaned over to the open notepad on your desk and jotted down the idea, before putting your headphones back on and getting back to work.

Hours later, your ears ached from listening to so much, and each of the three projects were at various percentages of ‘almost done’. You saved them all, just to be safe, even though you were still technically working on them.

Technically because you remembered that a bassist whose videos you liked was supposed to have a video premier today where he reviewed some new basses he got. Since you were going to have more money soon it certainly couldn’t hurt to watch and start deciding what you’d be interested in buying. It definitely couldn’t hurt. Well, your bank account might hurt a little bit… but your ears wouldn’t, as you pulled the headphone plug out of the jack and took them off.

You looked down at your phone and navigated to the delivery app for the fried chicken place near you and ordered. If you were going to take a break you might as well eat as well, you had worked through lunch and were starving. 

Chicken ordered, you opened Youtube and before you could click on the ‘Subscriptions’ button, you noticed a video titled ‘Creepypastas in Among Us??’ which had the little Among Us bean-looking guys-- which you only knew because there were all over your recommended page a few years back. People still played that? One had a black suit with… long arms? And another had a weird, totally white face with big eyes? You didn’t understand what any of it meant, but one was circled and another had a red arrow pointing at it for reasons you couldn’t discern. There was nothing that seemed out of the ordinary to you…  unless it was just because you didn’t understand what you were looking at. Your knowledge of Among Us was almost nil, knowing as much as you could from seeing thumbnails of it all over the home page, back when everyone was playing it. At least it was better than seeing screaming faces of streamers next to weird animatronics when everyone was playing that… teddy bear pizza game? Whatever it was called.

But the buzz had died down a while ago. And you didn’t even watch Let’s Plays, why was this being recommended to you? You hovered the cursor over the vertical three dots, and clicked on the ‘Not Interested’ button.

You scrolled for a couple seconds, to see one titled ‘Jay Why Pee cracks??’ where the thumbnail was a still from his ‘wae geureonji molla’ performance, but photoshopped with laughing emojis around his head. Another was titled ‘The Lost Art of RPG Maker Games’, you weren’t even sure what that was. Yet another was titled ‘Cat being ashamed of things she says for 5 minutes and 48 seconds’, with a thumbnail of who looked like Keeho from JUPiTER laughing, and the word ‘SCREEP’ in red font, as if he was laughing at it. You were pretty sure you had heard that he was also a streamer, but you had no idea what ‘SCREEP’ was…

You opened the three dots menu for the video and told Youtube not to recommend such things.

You didn’t care to know. You’d never understand the gaming community.

Your phone vibrated and you were startled by it. You open it to see what the notification was, and saw it was an email. A bandcamp artist notification. You squinted at the tiny font in the notification bar to see who it was.

HALA.

They’ve dropped a new album.

You clicked on the notification and it took literally two million years to open, and then when the email opened your eyes perceived it for as long as it took to discern where  you needed to press the screen to make the page open, and you were looking at it.

Canto #23: New Bravery

You had been listening to them for forever, and no matter how long you did, each album drop was a surprise. Only HALA could get away with such shit. You checked the track listing, real quick:

Foundation Electric Sheep Cyborg Hyperion Aeacus, Minos, and Rhadamanthys Bluebird

You didn’t know how to pronounce the names in the group of three and you didn’t care. You also couldn’t believe they were up to twenty-three albums already. You wished you could be that productive. To think that this person - who no one knew who they were - could be about the same age as you. It was wild. 

But whatever. You didn’t care how exhausted your ears felt, you had to listen to it.

You grabbed your headphones with the longest cord and plugged it into your computer, pressed play on the first track, and laid down on your bed, eyes closed, so you could devote all your attention to it.

AG and Their Sleep Habits

Moxy

When Moxy’s sleepy, you know.

She could literally sleep anywhere and I mean anywhere. She could be in the most uncomfortable position and be knocked out

In some BTS vlogs while one member is talking, you’ll see one of the hyungs moving her so she’s more comfortable.

The reason why 127’s managers carry around those portable mats = Moxy

What's funny is Moxy walks around in a daze when she’s tired. Moxy could literally run into a light post without realizing it. So the hyungs are extra careful to keep an eye on her. 

Johnny and Taeyong long for day’s when Moxy is sleepy, cause those are the days when she wears her glasses. They cover half of her face and have clear green frames. And she’s adorable in them

Work actually wakes her up. Like getting her blood pumping bring the alertness her body needs to get through the rest of the day

If there's no schedule or practice, the key to getting Moxy awake is food. And she LOVES Korean breakfast cause she LOVES carbs

Johnny will just open the door and let the smell of Doyoung’s cooking bring her to the dinner table to eat (Johnny may have to guide Moxy to her seat cause she’s walked right into the table corner more than once)

Hannah

Hannah wakes up first and goes to sleep last but somehow maintains a good sleep pattern. 

It’ll be those really odd days when something was off the night before and Hannah will wake up SUPER tired

When Hannah’s sleepy, she’s quiet and everyone around her should be quiet as well. 

Hannah doesn’t really cook when she’s sleepy (she doesn’t want to cause an accident and for good reason. DON'T HANDLE KITCHEN UTENSILS UNLESS FULLY ALERT KIDS!!) So Dream and AG are on their own for breakfast

On these days, Code:HS will be sent across all chats between NCT members so nobody is left uninformed (Code:HS means Hannah’s Sleepy)

In a heartwarming moment of family feels, Everyone will go silent for the day. No loud talking, screaming, roughhousing. Any noise over a certain decibel is on lockdown until the group is given the all clear

The younger members of WayV, especially Yangyang, will be concerned over Hannah until she reassures them that she’ll get some sleep tonight. Which usually leads to Yangyang dragging her to WayV dorm so they can make sure no complications happen again

Juno

Juno is the worst when waking up

She’ll wake up then go right back to sleep

One time, Juno woke up, got dressed and got back in the bed until a manager came and got her for a schedule

Juno is constantly sleepy because she LOVES sleep. 

To keep Juno awake especially during schedules, Juno drinks green tea (not matcha). She loves the peach green tea from starbuck’s so much that she keeps the ingredients stocked at their dorm

Strangely, Juno gets cuddly when she's sleepy. She’ll just latch onto whoevers close enough who doesn’t mind her hanging off of them.

Surprisingly, Juno goes to bed early. She’s not one to stay up all night light Aurora and Moxy. Once she’s asleep, nothing is waking her up. 

Juno’s frustrating to wake in the morning cause nothing really works. Everyone in NCT has tried something. Cold water, ripping the covers off, shaking, screaming, banging pans, threats-Nothing works The only thing that does is switching the methods every couple of days. 

You know who has the magic touch, Jaehyun. If Juno is being EXTRA difficult, they’ll just send Jaehyun in and minutes later Juno come stumbling out of her room in the direction of the bathroom

To this day, nobody knows how he does. And Jaehyun is wayyyyyy too smug about it.

Aurora

When Aurora’s up, she’s up. Doesn't matter if she had three or nine hours of sleep. If she wakes up, she will stay up for the rest of the day.

Throughout the day Aurora won’t seem like she’s sleepy. She’ll continue to be her broody, tsundere self. Until night falls….

Aurora first gets drowsy. She’ll start blinking a lot to ward off the sleepiness about to hit her. 

Next, If Aurora sits down for more than three- count em’- three minutes, She’ll go to sleep. During this stage you’ll see the Dream members help her keep moving so she doesn’t sleep until she gets home

Lastly, the re-wakening. Now for hours Aurora has been on the brink of sleep. All the work is shattered when she gets home. As soon as she walks through the door to the AG dorm, Aurora suddenly feels not tired (Queue Alvin and the Chipmunks reference).

From there it's a competition between Moxy and Aurora for who can stay up later. Usually, Aurora beats her unnie. Aurora will barge into Moxy’s room to find her asleep (Most of the time in a position that doesn’t make sense like-how is that comfortable Moxy??!?)

Sometimes Hannah gets worried about Aurora’s sleep habits but the youngest member of NCT always assures her that once she’s sleepy, she goes to bed. It's up to the universe if she’ll stay that way.

hiiii today's reminder is a notes app list of observations/thoughts from the concert that I kept to say to you lol:

- xiaohenyang black on black dance break I sobbed

- the first VCR started with jungwoo and jeno and I thought they'd do Js first then it went to yuta and my brain said "mera juta hai japani" which is a line from an old Bollywood song meaning "my shoe is japanese" and it cracked me up too much to pay attention to the rest of the VCR

- about the from home stage: RENJUN MY BABY smiling when he made it through his famous voice crack part and all the members putting their mics up to him for the "and it starts from here our home" bit 😭😭😭

- new stages/songs i don't remember being performed before that I loved: Oasis (why does sm hate winwin's voice), kangaroo (i need a well shot performance vid), ok, pado (tho why would they call it pado and not wave bc my brain immediately read it as pedo and then it was a sexy song and I was Disturbed), call d (what does that even mean lol they're not even trying to hide the frat boyness anymore), and you specifically are gonna love bat and alley oop

- why were the mics so bad. why was the camera work so bad, esp in nct u songs where they clearly don't know which part is whose. also they were focusing wayyy too much on close-ups for choreo-heavy songs (rip nectar). also the random hour long delay in between wtf?? tho I did like wayv banter in the meanwhile, speaking of which

- WHY DID THEY CHANGE WAYV'S INTRO TO "TO THE WORLD THIS IS NCITY"?!!!!!!!! also they clearly just tossed wayv up there to buy time while they fix the sets, it was kinda hilarious. they're pushing winwin to act cute and winwin taps his in ear and says "give us more time" (as in the staff asking them to fill up more time before the performance) and they jumped on him with "you can have all the time you want to act cute baby" to which winwin tries to hide behind ten but he's a whole head taller than him lol

- baggy jeans is good and I'm sure it'll grow on me more, but the t7s unit reunion feels wasted on it. love love LOVE ten's rap verse tho

- songs i loved live but really missed the missing members (this is mostly taeil tho sungchan makes a couple of appearances): round& round, my everything, taeil's empty spot in good night broke my heart, misfit, the 90s love bit in resonance. i like that they didn't have anyone cover taeil in 127's songs tho because he really is the heart of their music to me

- conversely: why does winwin still have 0 lines in boss, why not give him you know who's verse??

- apparently the new 127 album will be the most 127-esque yet and should I be scared?

- so so so very few resonance era songs :(

- some beautiful people: chenle, winwin, ten's wayv outfit, jisung in his black outfit (is that allowed???), taeyong's little braids even though I'm not sure how to feel about this hair, KUN 😭, yuta being the only one without a shirt in resonance for some reason

DONT GET ME STARTED ON THE WAY NCTZENS TREAT RIIZE LIKE MORE OF A NCT UNIT THAN WISH the amount of tweets i’ve seen in the past days that are saying riize should’ve been the nct unit / being shady towards wish really made me realise how not even NCTZENS got wish’s back :/ and fhe only reason i can come up with aside from the unit stuff is because they’re a specifically a japanese unit, i mean the same happened with wayv for a while where majority didn’t acknowledge them because they technically weren’t kpop. idk i wouldn’t have such a issue with not stanning or unit stans if nctzens didn’t actively try to erase and ignore the existence of them as an nct unit like no one is forcing you to stan them but to act like they’re not the new nct unit or an nct unit at all is just WILD

and heavy on that last part, wish is practically filled with nctzens, ryo is literally the biggest nct fan, and they’ve done multiple covers of nct songs and stated their wish to get closer to the other members but nahhhh we gotta consider the seperate group nct 😂🙏

LMAO but no yeah seriously, it hurts my heart whenever i see nctzens ask who they are like please we only have each other. and from what i've gathered, the main backlash and denial of wish seems to be from the feeling that they "replaced" sungtaro, which is just honestly a personal problem at this point that these people need to work through because riize is their own group. i think it also stems from how poorly managed sungtaro were when they were in nct, and this hate towards wish now is some kind of bitterness or resentment that sungtaro never got their own true spotlights under a fixed nct unit. but obviously, that has nothing to do with the wishies and the anger is completely displaced.

the problem with having a rookie unit is that everyone is so fiercely protective of the success and legacy of the existing units, and some people aren't so willing to welcome rookies into the already established group, who they think are essentially mooching off of the neo name. add that to the fact that the majority of nctzens seem to be at least 20 years old, and with the fandom skewing from older millennial to the youngest of gen z, maybe early gen alpha, i can see how some nctzens don't want to associate with the younger crowd. most wishzens already seem to be around sion's age or older (me included lol).

on the other hand, despite them being japanese, i think its actually been quite a pleasant surprise how well the korean fandom has taken to wish? the most popular members are the japanese members [yushi, riku, sakuya in that order] i think sm has done a good job with the way they promote them in korea, and specifically, not focusing the majority of their promotions in japan the way that some japanese kpop groups do, such as &team, because japanese broadcast and media laws are very restrictive and oftentimes results in the groups not being able to really expand their audience beyond japan. wishies have really taken off in korea and have attracted new fans to nct, especially other sm fans who aren't nctzens, and a large part of that i think is due to their sound. which is what sets them apart from wayv's struggle as a unit.

the way wayv were treated as "secondary class" to the other units was really sad, and i think they really just had all the odds stacked against them with not having any korean members (an advantage wish has), kr general public's sinophobia, the hallyu ban in china, their hiatus, china just being the least accessible... plus wish's concept is resonating more with the current trends and this generation of kpop fans, which is why wish have done far better than wayv and why, i think, a lot of weishennies feel like their favs are competing for the resources and the spotlight with the wishies now.

but with all that said, wish have been doing super well considering everything, and i'm so glad to see at least the korean fandom taking well to them. i was a huge 127zen back in like 2016-2020, and wish have definitely brought back out not only the nctzen in me, but also just the fangirl in me. i just hope more nctzens come around and i hope sm lets wish start reaching out to a global audience soon because there's definitely a lack of an int'l fanbase... but that should all come with time.

You don’t know why, but you start to become nervous. He’s never made you feel this way until now. 

“Well, I’m glad it's you and not Hendery. Now, let’s go to your room – I’m starting to get pretty tired.”

He nodded and extended his hand so you could hold it as he led you upstairs into his room. 

The others, truthfully, were a little sad they didn’t get chosen.

Hendery was the worst out of them all. 

His mind is going crazy thinking about how Ten is probably going to fuck you stupid tonight. A part of him kind of wished the bottle landed on him instead.

“Hey man, better luck next time! We know how much you wanted it to land on you. But it was based on pure luck at the end of the day.” Yangyang said as he tried to console Hendery.

“Fuck off. I don’t even care about it anymore. I hope she falls asleep way before Ten tries to pull any moves on her. I'm going to bed too, good night.”

He marched up into his room and slammed the door. Everyone in the house knew he wasn’t happy about this right now. 

He is practically the reason why this is all happening. He was the one who came up with the dare in the first place. 

“Damn, I think he is actually pissed off about all this,” Winwin said.

“I mean yeah dude, you couldn't tell how obvious it was that he liked her?” Yangyang said.

Everyone knew that Hendery had a crush on you. However, deep down he always knew Ten was going to be by your side no matter what. After tonight, he gave up any chances he had with you.

 He wondered what was going on between the two of you right now…

You entered Ten’s room and it was the same as always. 

It was dimly lit because he never really liked his room to be too bright. His room has a lot of earthy tones and he has a couple of plants. 

You plopped yourself onto his bed. You lay out on your stomach and you can feel Ten staring down at you. He was practically examining your whole body at this point. However, you didn’t notice since you were on your phone. You were checking to see if you got any new messages and you saw Renjun was blowing up your phone. 

He was at the party that Ten had mentioned to you before. He sent you a whole bunch of videos of what was going on at the party. It was videos of Johnny and Haechan fucking it up on the dance floor. You can tell they were super drunk because they kept on falling over. You started laughing at your screen, making Ten divert his attention to you.

“Hey, what are you watching that has you laughing like that?”

“Look at what Renjun just sent me.”

You showed him the video and he started laughing too. 

“Johnny is too much- why is he dancing on the table now?”

“I always forget you and Renjun were pretty close. Do you guys talk often?”

“Not as much as we used to. We call from time to time and vent to each other. He is a pretty good person to talk to. But we haven’t hung out with each other for a while now.”

You saw Ten’s face start to change a little bit when you were saying that. He forgot that before you two were friends, you were close to Renjun during high school. He was your best friend at the time and you would hang out a lot after school. Ever since you met Ten, you and Renjun don’t hang out as often anymore.

“Mhmm very interesting. Also, if you want me to sleep on the couch downstairs, I will. I don’t want to make you feel uncomfortable or anything. I just wanted to see the look on Hendery's face when he saw me leaving with you.” 

You flipped onto your back and leaned on the bed with your elbows.

“It's ok! I don’t mind.”

“Are you sure? You don’t usually spend the night here when we hang out.”

“I'm sure, and remember that one time after Jaemin's birthday party I spent the night here because I was too drunk to go home?”

“Oh yeah, I remember! You were such a mess that night. I was practically your babysitter.”

He had this patronizing look on his face. It looked like he was about to do something crazy.

He started walking towards you with that same look he gave you before. Almost as if he was hungry for you.

He suddenly grabbed your chin and tilted it upwards him and said,

You started to feel hot all over again. His words alone have been driving you insane all night. The more he talks down to you like this, the more it's starting to get to you.

Working on the last few chapters made me realize that I could've gotten everything done in less than six months if I pushed myself, but oh well.

At least I got the story done.

Major Inspirations

Okay, so these inspirations were pretty much with me throughout the entire story, because, well, they inspired the three groups!

Let's start with the most important one:

"Call Call Call" by SEVENTEEN

This music video is the reason why this story even exists in the first place.

Why?

First, because it shows 3 things:

1. Thirteen guys on motorcycles (check)

2. Three groups made of five, four, and four. (check)

and

3. Three different groups with three different styles. (check check check)

And second, because after I watched it for the first time in 2021 I was like, "Three different-looking groups…this could be something with time travel."

One of my first ideas was a time-traveling gang rivalry, but that idea quickly faded away. I wouldn't have known what to do with an idea like that anyway, and I also didn't want this to be a typical guy-turf-war story. Of course, I didn't know how the story would end at that point, but still. I just knew I didn't want it to be that kind of story.

The second major inspiration piggybacks off "Call Call Call" in that it served as additional inspiration for the first group living in Canada in 1969.

The third major inspiration was "Breath" by GOT7, although looking back on it now, I can tell that the inspiration is very loose. But some of the elements are still there for group 2 with everyone walking among those sets and everything. And all the characters in that group use social media in various ways, so in my mind, it works.

I randomly came across that video, so I just went with it as the blueprint for group 3's look and feel.

I think I had it in my head that I wanted the three different groups to look different like in "Call Call Call," but I didn't want that music video to be the sole piece of media that I got ideas from.

And Joohoney is a good inspiration for Cliff lookswise. In my head Cliff is a mix of him and Biff from the "Back to the Future" trilogy.

Work Uniforms

Group 1 Uniforms

I tried, lol.

But all of the uniforms were inspired by the black outfits in the "Gambler" music video, and I think you can tell.

Although there were some tweaks added because I looked up soldier uniforms from the 60s as well.

Group 2 Uniforms

Their uniforms were inspired by GOT7's Shopee Concert outfits in 2021, a student pilot's uniform, and a director's costume (although in my mind, I barely used it).

Note: For some reason, a weird "1 new message" shows up on my toolbar when I go to the link for the pilot's uniform, so I'll save you guys the trouble of dealing with that and leave it out. You can always look up "airline pilot uniforms" if you’d like to find something similar.

Group 3 Uniforms

Like group 1, the inspiration behind the uniform designs came from one place, but I still tried to make them my own in some way.

That inspiration was WayV's "Kick Back (Korean Version)" Inkigayo Full Cam Performance Video.

I like that ^ version best because the static camera makes it easier to see everything at once.

I had never heard of the game "crack the whip/snap the whip" before, but there is something about it that's strangely familiar to me. Maybe I saw kids playing it in elementary school or on TV but forgot about it.

Either way, I came across this painting through BTS x Street Galleries on Google Arts & Culture. It was part of J-Hope's collection and when I saw it I thought it looked intriguing. I didn't know what to do with it at the time though, so I took note of it and saved it for later.

I think I'm gonna change it though.

A room that bright is cool for a video, but it might be too bright for real life.

Maybe the walls should be black and the tiles can stay the same?

I'll decide later.

Oh, and Wayne's uniform was directly inspired by the black tie outfits in that music video as well. And yes that means that the other scientists probably wear something similar.

Screening Room Entrance

The doors were light gray, and outlined in black with vertical glass windows on the left side of the left door, and the right side of the right door. The front walls of the portico were also black, but they also had white neon vertical lights that slanted on the top; the left-hand side of the columns were pure white. — Chapter 7

The inspiration behind this was a screening room entrance at a local movie theater.

Employee Dorm Lounge

Kind of modeled after the area at 2:31 in the original version of the "Spin Off" music video, but I was very vague about it.

And I think I also got the idea for the JTO from that blue thing hanging at 2:44 too.

Either way, it's related to the other video, so I wanted to bring it up.

The entrance was a half circle with black lines going up and down in all sorts of directions inside it. On top of it was a black structure with a flat roof and sharp corners that came down on both sides of the half circle. Three black columns stood on either side of the doorway, and two of them on either side had columns with three sections and six vertical black lines inside them. — Chapter 6

Another one that was taken right from the video itself!

This is the area from chapter 6 when they're all outside and Adam drives around the track.

It's also where they do their bike training later.

I got this dialogue idea from a thread on Reddit which made me laugh so I saved it and ended up using it. Plus, it's not that hard to imagine Cliff saying something similar to the latter, lol.

Gamerkid11: One time I was lost in my school and went to ask a girl for directions. She immediately responded with "I am taken" like it was a sitcom or something. I eventually found the room. insanetwit: "'I have a boyfriend!" "Ok… Does he know where room 302 is?"

How do you tell if someone is attracted to you or just being very friendly?

I also enjoy looking at these kind of threads because they usually have funny gems like this. And okay, sometimes I want to know if a guy ever liked me at any point in my life. I say 97% and not 100% because I am capable of crushing on handsome guys if they catch my interest (which doesn't happen often), so a part of me wants that romantic kind of companionship, but I'm not crying over being single or not engaging in risky sexual intimacy either.

And that brings us to the next section.

Edit: Being 97% sure that I'm on the asexual spectrum might've been too hasty to say. Like sure, sex is not exactly a high priority for me, especially with the reason stated after this next section, but very low sex-drive might be better suited for me than pure asexual. And we also have to keep in mind that I've never been in any kind of romantic relationship due to my massive trust issues with guys in general (also, I'm not pretty). So I can't really say anything about my feelings toward sexual intimacy with absolute certainty because I have zero experience in that department. There are certain sexual things I know I will never want to do, though. That I feel more sure about. 

And demisexual or demiromantic might be a better fit for me since I can only develop a crush on a handsome guy after getting to know a little bit of his personality. So, I'm not someone who crushes on every guy that she sees. I mean, sure, I know an attractive guy when I see one, and I can even admire his looks for a while. But for me, "attractive guy" + (in my eyes) "endearing personality" = ❤. The mushy romantic crush feelings following that tend to last longer compared to just admiring someone based on their looks.

That was my recent former crush, although I can only guess what my feelings would be like if I met him in real life. And he was someone I never thought I would get a crush on for a variety of reasons, mainly him being [cough]younger than me[cough]. But at the same time, I couldn't keep crushing on him forever, especially since the two of us will probably never speak to each other directly. So it just became pointless. And no one can stay in a limbo like that forever. In a situation like that, you either have to do something about it, or stop wasting time. (Technically, I did do something about it. Not that I thought anything would happen as a result of that, but at least I did something. At least I made an effort.)

It's also a little bit of an insecurity thing from me as well because I'd hate to inconvenience him with my social and general anxiety. Like, I get nervous walking on bridges and want someone to hold onto while I walk across them. Also, I can be very strict sometimes and wouldn't let him go one day without cleaning or cooking. We'd have to be a team. 

I say this like I'm actually gonna meet him, but I know it's literally impossible, lol. Unless he miraculously likes me back, but even then, that might be a little too lucky for me. Like, I would be so paranoid if that were the case. Not necessarily because of him, though. My thoughts would be, "He likes me? Why??? That wasn't supposed to happen, so what's wrong, Universe? When is the other shoe gonna drop?" At the very least, my creativity was at its highest during the beginning of my crush on him two years ago, so at least I got something good out of it (a whole universe actually, hint hint).

Personal Inspirations

This section covers inspirations that I took from my own life.

Asexuality

As I mentioned in the previous part, I have no real burning desire to be that intimate with anyone. It's not impossible since I've never been in a mutually romantic relationship, but at the same time, I can probably name so many other things I would rather engage in instead.

1. Eating food.

2. Fictional worlds (they have been my home for as long as I can remember).

3. Spending time with people I trust.

4. Being cuddled and/or hugged in a non-sexual way.

So that's why I wanted to include characters like that in the story. There are so many male characters in movies and TV that are "unemotional players" but not all of them are like that. Most of them probably are, but most is not one hundred percent.

And there are four characters on the asexual spectrum in the story.

Here's a hint: One is unaware of it, one admitted it, and the other two are future (as in from now 2023) babies.

Did you get it right?

I never talked about Jack's relationships in this story, but I have him down as "demisexual" in my notes. Of course, this is 1969/1970, so doctors and any wife that he will inevitably settle down with (again, 1970s) will probably label his selective sex drive as a problem, which is a shame.

Theo flat-out admitted to Melissa that he was asexual and aromantic in chapter 20. Now I'm definitely not aromantic (What Does Aromantic Mean?) and I don't know anyone who is, but it is related to asexuality.

Skylar never mentioned anything obvious, but he was sitting with Theo at the dining room table while Elias and Arnold were watching that stripper movie in chapter 18. In my notes, I have him down as "homoromantic asexual" because most gay men in movies and TV are allosexual and have sex with the first gay man that they connect with. And yeah, I know I did it in the story too with [spoiler] but that's why variety is important.

And for Audrey, I'm leaning toward "demisexual," but still considers facial attraction important. So she's not gonna love a guy whose face is ugly no matter how much time they spend together.

She and Theo are also "childfree," which brings us to the next part.

Being Childfree

I am childfree.

Let me write that again.

I AM CHILDFREE.

I don't want to get pregnant (emetophobia and tokophobia).

I don't want to adopt human children.

I just don't want the huge responsibility of raising and caring for children.

Trust me, someone with my emotional issues does not need to take care of vulnerable children. And I've never thought "wow, I hope to be a mom someday."

In fact, before I knew male ejaculation during vaginal sex led to pregnancy (yeah I said it but in real life, I would be too shy), I thought girls could get pregnant by praying (in their head) for a baby.

Yes, the adults told me this.

So I tried my best to never think those thoughts, lol. And I never did since the desire wasn't there, but it really scared me as a kid.

And taking care of any vulnerable creature is risky, but at least with a dog, cat, or any other animal, they won't get traumatized if I roll my eyes or scoff at a mess they made that I now have to clean up. I don't like cleaning up messy situations and I'd hate to traumatize an innocent child because of it.

So no kids for me.

And if you look at my Twitter, this shouldn't be a surprise.

She had an abortion because she hated being pregnant and never wanted biological kids.

That's why Drew's dad was so disgusted with her that he had to get away from her as soon as possible.

And we all know that some people would disown family members and/or friends for doing the same thing that she did.

It worked out though because Drew feels mostly safe with her and Fred.

Not a bad outcome for a kid raised by two "childfree" adults, huh?

I was also trying to go against the "every woman who aborts an embryo is an evil villain who hates children" stereotype.

The Importance of Friendship and "Found Family"

While we're on the subject of leading an untraditional life, I think society in general tends to treat friendships as lesser than.

According to society, everyone is supposed to settle down and have children, and if you can't have children you should at least live with a partner because if you live with relatives then that makes you a pathetic loser who couldn't "get" anyone romantically and/or sexually.

I really hate that.

And I also hate the phrase "old maid."

Some people just end up alone.

But that doesn't mean they can't find fulfillment from friendships and/or endeavors.

So many kids are born into emotionally and/or physically abusive families, which attracts school bullies, which forces the child to have no social safety net with their family or their peers. That follows them into adulthood and forces them to be skeptical of everyone.

And yes, I can relate.

I grew up with an emotionally volatile (and slightly violent) adult male relative and most of Athena's words and behavior are based on things that he said or did to me.

Of course, he hasn't changed, so he gets the “grey rock” treatment from me. I also stand up to him now, which makes my inner child happy and him angry.

And yes I know that it was his upbringing and all that, but I spent 99% of my childhood being terrified thanks to him. Him being a blood relative is not an acceptable excuse for the way he treats/treated me.

That's one of the reasons why I enjoy the "found family" trope.

Because some people need a "second family" to call home.

And if someone told me that they stopped talking to their parents, do you know what I'd say?

I'd say, "What did they do?" or "Do you want to talk about it?"

And if they're a close friend I might even say "Congratulations!"

Not that stupid "but they're FAAAAAMILLLY you have to forgive them!"

Like, shut up.

Just because your family is secure and safe doesn't mean it's a given for everyone.

And we all know that every single child in the world gets emotionally secure and peaceful biological parents who’d never make their child feel unsafe. After all, no one would dare hurt or take advantage of their own child right?

We Are All Domestic

"Okay, I know you both are from some weirdly educated past, but here," he said as he spooned some of the casserole on to his plate, "every capable child has cooking classes included with their schooling from the time they're old enough to know the difference between a spoon, fork, and chopsticks." He put the spoon back, and looked at both of them. "Turns out, almost anyone can learn the basics of cooking after learning about it for ten years." — Chapter 15

Unless they physically can't use their hands and can't read, there are no excuses for why a child can't grow up learning the basics of cooking and cleaning.

I'm not asking for a restaurant-style meal, but kids should be taught the basics to help them get by and prepare their food without killing themselves or anyone else.

They should also be taught the importance of hygiene.

I hate it when people give a pass to boys (or let's face it, attractive and/or rich people in general) for being disgusting or not knowing how to clean.

Now I'm not saying all kids should be raised without manners in hygiene, but at the same time, it shouldn't fall on just the girls' shoulders.

Boy gets urine on the toilet seat?

Make him clean it.

Girl leaves poop stain inside toilet?

Make her clean it with a toilet brush if flushing doesn’t do anything.

They're both done eating a meal?

Great, now they can wash their own dishes.

I hate domestic incompetence from people who are more than capable of cleaning their mess or preparing food.

And with a million “how-to” videos everywhere, there are no excuses.

If you're someone who can't plan a simple uncooked meal (like a sandwich) and have to rely on other people to prepare a dish for you, then you have a problem.

And yes, I am judging.

Planning and making a meal for someone is okay every once in a while, but at some point, that someone has to start preparing their own food. Because unless you're going through the reasons that I stated previously, or you're a literal child (physically or mentally), then there's no excuse. It's not hard to make a sandwich, wrap, or anything else uncooked that can be prepared and eaten.

And if this is you and you have trouble preparing meals then I suggest you start with trying to make uncooked meals that you like first and then work your way from there.

It's not hard to make a meal.

Like anything else, you just need a little practice.

And personally?

I love looking at recipes on my Instagram Explore page and being like "Mmm. I could probably make that."

As someone who loves food, I'm not gonna sit around and wait for someone else to make my food for me.

And as for cleaning?

If you're over 21 and need someone to point out what needs to be cleaned in a kitchen, then that means you were coddled for way too long.

The good news is that anyone can learn the basics of cooking and cleaning, but teaching it at a younger age is better.

Male weaponized domestic incompetence is not cute.

General Inspirations

These are inspirations that set the general tone for this fictional world that I created. Like, if this became a movie, I'd want it to have the tone of these worlds.

Now, I've watched a lot of TV and movies, so I had many worlds to choose from, but I settled on the vibes of the following three worlds:

Back to the Future Trilogy - I mean, of course. Cliff is basically a smart Biff and Marty is a little like Drew, so it's kind of like an alternate universe with them as friends and Biff's posse being his childhood friends. And Keegan is a nerdier version of George.

The Vampire Diaries Universe - One of my fictional homes! I enjoy characters like Damon who don't tolerate nonsense from people (like me and Cliff…). And I like that each show (The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, and Legacies) is in the same universe, and yet each one is slightly different. And it's kinda stupid, but just seeing how much of an impact this universe and these characters have had on fans around the world… I want that. I want my universe to be a fun escape for anyone who is struggling. And I say this as someone who struggles so much but finds comfort in fiction. God, I really need to rewatch all three shows.

Once Upon a Time - This show has similar vibes to TVDU, although it was more family oriented so they never showed any "ripping off clothes" scenes (which I didn't mind, I mean a good kiss between my favorite pairing was good enough), but I still enjoyed it. That's another show I need to rewatch.

And I could probably list more general inspirations, but those are the ones I could think of. I only started watching streaming shows very recently, but for the most part, the shows I watch tend to have similar vibes. It's kind of hard to explain but if a show or movie has a lot of graphic gore just for the shock factor, then I probably won't enjoy it.

Plus, with these three worlds, I like the fact that no one ever said "f**k." I mean, yeah, the networks they originally aired on prevented that, but that word is so obnoxiously overused and used as an adult test* that it annoys me now.

So that word will not be used in my fictional world.

People are free to overuse it, but that doesn't mean I have to do the same.

Not sorry.

(* = Adult test just means things that people say or do that other people mistake for "maturity" like using heavy swear words, drinking, and engaging in sexual intimacy. You know, the things that a thirteen year old can do? So an adult may do all three of those things, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're "mature." If that were the case there would be no customer service horror stories about adult customers swearing at employees because they never learned how to be patient.)

Oh, wait.

One last thing.

I sent one of the inspirations in this essay a “thank you” message two years ago for, well, inspiring me, lol. I don’t know if they ever read it but their creative work released a few months later definitely earned a few eyebrow raises from me. Like a “wait, this looks/sounds familiar” kind of eyebrow raise.

They also started using blue a lot.

Of course, it could just be a coincidence and have nothing to do with my work.

And I’d hate to think of them treating me like a secret and unpaid idea generator that they're partially benefiting from. I mean, that would really make me lose some respec—

“I do tend to over-analyze things.”

Okay, I got myself there.

Plus, on the off-chance that it is true there's not much I can do about it. They have a way bigger following than me and it would be their word against mine. Although I might be a little more forgiving if they actually admitted that they were getting inspiration from me.
