And for the first time, Hoshina Soshiro blushed, and the entire room went into pandemonium.

this scene came to me when i was heading to sleep, and since then, it has been living in my mind rent-free. anyway, if there are anything written on there about hoshina's time as a new recruit or something and it overlapped with the side manga or was inconsistent with it, just remember that i haven't read the kaiju no. 8: b-side.

I'm not even the biggest fan of Dabi in terms of looks, but always found very weird how the anime constantly makes him look way more defined and with bigger muscles than he has in the manga.

Isn't a bit contradictory for his character to look super ripped? Horikoshi clearly drawn Dabi in that specific way because the story makes emphasis on his body being more frail due having a weak constitution, also contrasting him to the rest of mens in the family who got the big and strong constitution of Enji, Natsuo especially. The anime just lose all the meaning behind that.

And this is more of a personal preference but I find Dabi's body in the manga to look much more attractive and less generic than in the anime. Skinny guys can look attractive as well.

Let me start with this. Have you seen how in the Tumblr the tags of dabi x reader and shig x reader there a HUGE contrast in quality? Shig is depicted as a creepy and weirdo incel while Dabi IS "I'LL STEAL YOUR WIFE😏"

now on a controversial take. I do like the idea of dabi losing his scars. Why? Would increase his quality of life...I find odd how everyone in LoV accepts Dr. Evil's word and never try to take a second opinion. Also, without the scars Dabi would look way more like Endy making his claim be more powerful.

Now onto your ask: I think Bones just like to make characters hot in a conventional way, JJK men got to be hotter than the manga. But I do notice how bones lacks in translate the manga to anime. Some of the scenes of the manga were done so dirty.

Dabi became hotter aka buffer bc of this. Btw, many dabi x reader like to make the reader have a healing quirk (it should be a trope by now) just so it can heal dabi...which no one account that dabi IS self destructive, a healing quirk is nice but he would do again...unless he changes his mindset (I'm trying to explore this in my fic called besties)

Ask yourself: did shig NEEDED to be buffaraki? Was afo the quirk really need you to be buff?

So to answer: Dabi is attractive in any shape. His writing trumps over shig any day even if shig IS more attractive than Dabi.

But this is how it looks in animation something's off proportionally, don't quite know what it is it could also be a deliberate stylistic choice and I need to watch the anime to understand.

And this anime is handled by mappa and everyone knows they know how to make beautiful animation despite everything that we now know is happening behind the scenes so I don't know what's going on. My friend thinks it's because it's a Netflix anime. So the studio had all the veteran animators who knew what they were doing working on the last season of Attack on Titan and Jujutsu Kaisen season 1. So the studio was already very busy and Dorohedoro the 13 episode Netflix anime was probably very low on the priority list. There is also a chance in the middle of making Dorohedoro the production of Vinland Saga season 2 probably would have started so that pulled even more resources away. That's probably what happened is what I'm guessing. Hopefully everyone now understands why those poor animators are complaining. They're overworked. This was their release schedule for 2020 early 2021 they were busy. It's only gotten worse since then.

And I'm not saying Noi is ugly. She just looks better in that manga panel and I really can't find good photos of her from the anime that are not blurry. Other than that one. Please don't come at me. I am going to watch that anime because of how many times she has been requested for these polls.

Kaladin Stormblessed... and 『SYLPHRENA』 I'm workshopping a JJBA AU for the Stormlight Archive as I finish reading the manga and rereading the fantasy series! Notes below!

I think the general setting is a hybrid modernized Roshar, similar-ish to canon Roshar but maybe with slightly updated technology, haven't quite decided. Maybe if Roshar had a printing press and Vorin men were slightly more literate, not 100% on these details yet.

The main plot is Dalinar attempting to unite the stand users against a group of evil stand users being led by DIO Odium that seek to bring the end of the world. You know, basically like the plot of the Stormlight Archive.

Really there isn't much different between the canon story and my AU except that everyone is now hotter and vogueing at all times. Maybe to make the AU more distinct I'll set it on earth and just make the shards Some Guys. lol. It's kinda fun to think of the unmade as being stand users... much to consider. anyways im just using this au as an excuse to draw the characters in overdesigned clothing

Kaladin here has clothes with the vague sense of his cobalt guard jacket but instead its a high fashion trenchcoat i found on pinterest. his pants are baggy jogger-style with lots of room for movement and the curly motif is from the Windrunner symbol. Maybe his spear is a splinter of the Arrow and can awaken stands in his squires?

Syl's full design is kinda robot-bug looking and wears streetwear and her hair is like a cloud behind her.

People are usually too busy being shitty about fat people to even realize that he's probably stronger than Armstrong (in a practical sense: strongmen and bodybuilders have incredibly different physiques and Breda is BUILT) and is super smart and would treat you right. I bet he has a fat hog too just saying WHAT who said that

Ohh boy. FMAB is the worst iteration of FMA as a whole. People do not like when I say this because they think that I mean to say that it's bad and, no; as far as shonen anime goes it's GOOD! But it's still the weakest iteration. FMAB was never meant to be "THE definitive way to experience fma" like people treat it to be and it shows. The pacing was weird because it a) assumed you watched FMA03 already and b) was on a time crunch to sync up with the end of the manga, which is understandable but a huge detriment to it 10 years later. Easily should have had another season. Also imo it's ugly (especially in the earlier seasons) and I wish they had waited to product it until like 2013 or went with a different studio than Bones. 😔 If you LIKED FMAB I will beg and plead with you to read the manga because it's not very long, you can find it on MangaDex, and you will be surprised seeing what was changed or cut out entirely. You don't have to... but, I dunno, I've just never personally understood the mentality of "omg this is my favorite anime!!!! but I WON'T read the manga"....

I know there will be people pointing out my FMA03 bias, when some people would rank it lower than FMAB, but I would at least argue that FMA03 has it's own merit by having it's own identity that is uniquely it--if you want FMA03, you have to watch FMA03. For the "mangahood" canon, FMAB and the manga do the same thing, but the manga obviously does it better.

Yes I am about to give the most obvious answer in the world, but Other M really contributes nothing to the lore and Samus' characterization. As much as the ZM manga has issues, at least Samus' breakdown at Ridley makes sense in that context. Samus having a crisis after SM and regressing to feeling like a child is, to put it generously, forced.

Kagome is attractive in her own way. But I feel like much of her light which I saw in the initial episodes got dimmed out because of the love affair with Inu Yasha. Seeshomaru is so hot. But Kagome and Sesshomaru didn't have any time together. When I saw him around rin, it made him hotter in my eyes. Like he could be a good father and protector despite that cold fearsome hard exterior? who would have thunk they are gonna ruin that and turn it into something else altogether lmao

Yea honestly much of my love comes from extracting who she is independent of Inuyasha. I really wish she was given more time and space to just shine on her own but unfortunately her character is so dependent on her love affair with Inuyasha in canon. She did have her annoying moments due to how glued she was to Inuyasha in canon lol

For me that episode where Kagome and Sesshoumaru stayed stuck in my head so I basically go off their little interactions lol. It’s one of the few moments where she gets something for herself. Haha that’s interesting you mention the relationship between Sess and Rin changed it all for you and made him hotter. It was kind of the opposite for me haha 💀

I enjoyed how stubborn and almost villainous he was prior to meeting Rin. I mean I still think it’s nice and cute he was a father and protector to Rin but idk. I think it’s because the way I found out about his character was unfortunately already tainted by the weird romantic lense some of his fans see their relationship through lol. So I can’t help but wonder if he never met Rin then people wouldn’t have such strange views of his character that he would actually be attracted to a child he protected and looked after like a parent for 200 episodes and 500 chapters 💀

and honestly now looking back at it I hate that the anime added extra fillers in order to put the idea of that ship romantically into peoples heads. The manga was perfect the way it was cuz their relationship was literally parental and platonic. If I were rumiko I would be so pissed at that company Lmaoo. Bunch of weirdos in that studio who don’t truly care about her work and just had some weird agenda. Idk I felt they should’ve just left his character alone and let everyone just have their own interpretations and ideas of his character. I‘ve basically moved on from Inuyasha at this point lol but yea this is where my view of him left off.

everyone shut up while i talk about why this entire segment on the train in golden kamuy is my absolute favorite segment in this entire gem of a manga and maybe one of my favorite scenes in manga as a whole first off toshizo hijikata? hottest man in the manga, and i say this as the straightest man i know in the comfort of my own home. man just oozes cool and confident and manages to steal every single scene he is in. so seeing his climactic conclusion where he reclaims and relives his glory as the last of the samurai is a treat, sad as it might be secondly the dopeass glitch effect they use. seeing it for the first time when hijikata pursues and kills the old assassin convict was cool as hell because he becomes younger and hotter and you get to see him in his glory days and the way its used as a "censor" of sorts to hide the fatal wound hijikata has is just MWAH like, its symbolically hijikata using the pure glory and faith in bushido he holds, the only thing still tying him to faith and the reason he is after the gold to begin with, to keep himself walking just that much longer, not willing to let the last samurai simply pass away and to top it off, hijikata seeing the younger version of himself as sugimoto, "overtake" him, symbolically passing on his will to the current generation and putting his faith in them, only to then quite literally pass it on by giving sugimoto his katana. this entire sequence is peak CINEMA and i love this manga to bits "That, Sugimoto-dono, is Bushido."

GL:

Revolutionary Girl Utena - is including it on this list cheating since it's not primarily GL? I don't care, it's too good to not recommend. A teenage tomboy fencer gets 'engaged' to a mysterious girl by winning a duel, many more duels happen alongside symbolism, feminist messages and a really mature handling of topics like depression and abuse. REALLY dark though, but worth it! Deserves its place as one of the classic anime.

Bloom into you - incredible handling of internalised homophobia, first love, high school relationships both in the platonic and romantic sense and golden child syndrome. A heartwarming but occasionally heartwrenching story that felt very real. Bonus points for the author actually being a sapphic woman.

The Handmaiden - sapphic thriller from Korea set in the early 1900's! Dark but incredibly engaging, surprisingly happy and hopeful despite how much the girls have to suffer to get their happily ever after. The book it's based on, The Fingersmith, was also great!

GAP - Thailand's first GL series and got so popular there are now multiple other projects coming this & next year! The protagonist is a uni graduate hired in her idol's company only to discover the lady is both meaner and hotter than she thought. Lesbian crisis and full-on romcom shenanigans follow, though the series also comments on traditional family values in Thailand acting as an excuse for homophobia (the idol, Sam, is in an arranged engagement to a man as ordered by her grandma). Don't worry though, the show is mostly very fun and light & ends very very happily for the ladies.

Whisper Me a Love Song - look, as a former band kid I can't not mention the band lesbians manga. It's a highschool romance full of miscommunication and funny/cute shenanigans with occasional sadness to balance it all out. Very relaxing. It's getting an anime adaptation next year so looking forward to that!

Riddle Story of Devil - as an action series fan this was pretty incredible. A school full of assasins, everyone is sapphic and they're all badasses? High school me was obsessed and I still am. The manga is much better though, the anime is both way less gay and develops the characters much less due to the story being compressed into 12 episodes.

Legend of Yunqian - short fantasy drama from a small Chinese studio, it's about a regular young lady going back in time via a magic fan and falling for a magical warrior woman. Lovely and available on Youtube for free!

Honorary mentions: Flip Flappers (anime), Clear and muddy loss of love (novel), She likes to cook and she likes to eat (manga & TV series)

BL:

Heaven Official's Blessing - come on, it's incredible. Dark fantasy with immortal love that breaks even the most powerful curses, a complex and deeply human protagonist, a lot of emotional moments and incredible use of flashbacks to slowly reveal his backstory to the readers- what's not to love? Just a warning, when I say it's dark fantasy I'm not kidding. The series has funny and light moments but when shit gets real, it gets REAL.

No.6 - just like RGU isn't technically GL, this isn't technically BL but I am gonna talk about anyway, it's incredible. It's a dystopian sci-fi story about Shion, a teenager who discovers a government conspiracy and works to stop it alongside his new friend/love interest Nezumi. It treats the gay relationship super casually, there's no sexuality angst or anything, it was super refreshing! Read the novels though, the anime compressed the story a lot.

The Untamed/Mo Dao Zu Shi - love the intrigue, love the main romance, love the fantasy elements! My first Chinese series and one I hold dear for introducing me to the wuxia (Chinese fantasy) genre. Any version of the story is great but I'd recommend to start with the series and then read the books.

Kinnporsche - it's deeply insane and I love it for that. Everyone is gay, everyone commits crimes (they're in the mafia, so. Yeah) and it makes for a really entertaining show even if its darker elements aren't always super well handled.

Not me the series - Motorcycle gang of young anarchists against corruption! Very radical and critical of capitalism and the police system, engaging and fast paced. The director/showrunner is a trans activist/filmmaker so it's not like she doesn't know what she's talking about. It's very universal so I'd recommend it even to people who normally don't watch BL. One minus point for minor queerbaiting with 2 side characters, nothing major but it did bother me a bit + felt unnecessary in a series full of queer characters.

Cherry magic - queer office romance + mind reading! If that combination sounds interesting please do check it out, it was super cute. Bonus for very realistically human protags and an explicitly aroace side character.

Semantic error - opposites attract-type romance between an introverted, collected STEM prodigy and an extroverted art student partnered together for a project. The protagonist is autistic and written pretty well so I latched onto the show immediately, bonus points for side queer representation (bi character who's a super cool and pretty lady, love her).

Honorary mentions: Word of Honor (series), Yuri on ice (anime, only homoerotic sports anime to make the gay explicit, iconic), Nobleman Ryu's wedding (series, short but v heartwarming!)

cuz like!! He’s in the in between! He’s half dead half alive! He’s closer to zombies then gecko moria’s minions 😱 which brings me to my next topic! The only way to kill this dude is to completely shatter his bones or drown him!! Like? Think how op that is for a sec- every devil fruit user can be drowned right? Well known fact. But there are also many other ways to kill them! Obv luffy got some insane durability and plot armor but at the end of the day he almost died multiple times due to various things like swords/cuts and poison!! But brook? Not a problem! None of that matters as long as he’s not in the ocean or completely crushed!

Another thing I absolutely had to talk about was his soul coming out of his body!! Before all brook had was his sword and the fact that he practically won’t die again. But now!! He’s gotten so much stronger! His soul leaving his body is so op (no pun lol) because even if you trace it back, if you hit him awake it 1) won’t do any damage and 2) his soul shoots back so he can fight you! Therefore crosses out the option for a sneak attack! The only down slide is if you move his body to the water I’d believed…then that’d be a L for brook 😞🦴.

the last honorary mention is the fact that he can make you see the spiritual world with music!! It’s so funny cause it looks like your hallucinationating but all the time what your seeing is real just not in your dimension. 😭 taste of heaven type stuff 😜 I remember the fishman pirate underlings literally started dancing and shooting the “fire works” (canons) up in the air n stuff 😂😂

If I had to pick 2 things I gripe with it very rarely those would be the names and the way the animation does my boys' faces so dirty at times.

They literally look like they're in agony in some still frames so be prepared for the plot, the ✨DRAMAAA✨ and character interactions to do some heavy lifting at times. Settings though are drop dead gorgeous with the most immersive atmospheric feel to them, everywhere is so washed and somber like I'd expect a vampire world to be, no shade to Case study of Vanitas, execution is key and both shows are nailing their moods for me.

Now for the names...tf name's their child Dali Delico??? Sounds like some Italian deserted I'd eat without hesitation.

All I have to say is, Behind the name probs wasn't used in the writer's room cuz these might have a sort of relation to the characters but they sound dumb, I'm sorry 😶

Now I'm done dissing names and simping for Gayhartron, go and watch Delico's Nursery I BEG OF YOU, ITS ACTUALLY GOOD RN. I really don't think it'll be disappointing but what will be is if we don't get a season two cuz it didn't turn a profit so move move move!!!

I don't have much to say rn without spoiling cuz this show is definitely something you should watch for yourself, unlike buddy Daddies though, I know it won't be for everyone, especially the animation. It seems like it's an anime original, or adapted from a stage play (I might be thinking of another show don't sue me) cuz I couldn't find a manga on my sites, so yeah if things don't end this season, our chances of getting more hang in the balance.

The opening is a bop though so stay every episode for that and the cute kids if nothing else interests you.
