it's presumably been said already but in light of all these awful allegations about neil gaiman, it makes the calliope episode of sandman feel that much creepier.
arthur darville's richard madoc was a man who presented himself as a socially-conscious ally to women and people of colour, while all the while he was holding a woman hostage and abusing her, leveraging his power over her to inflict awful abuse, telling himself it was okay because he was a good man, really, and never really thinking he did anything wrong until the consequences fell on his own head, for once
#i'm not entirely sure how to tag this#abuse#neil gaiman#sandman#calliope#richard madoc#aj abstractions#everyone involved with shows like sandman and good omens must feel so betrayed#it's clear how much love and effort from so many people went into making those productions#i'm glad we're getting a little bit of closure in good omens. especially because sheen and tennant obviously love those characters
