Yours, Always and With Love
Warnings: (implied) MCD, angst
For @longdaytogo 🫡🥲
~
Dear "Mycroft",
I think I've finally figured out who you are. And I think it is bloody bollocking funny that I ended up with you as my pen pal. Are you really in the States? Merlin, I want to know what they think of you over there.
And you're wrong. There are people who miss you where you used to live.
You fucked up my nose,
HP
~
I don't know who you think I am, but I'm not that person. You're not always right. You're can't be all good. People like you don't survive for long. I'm nothing like you and even I barely made it. You think you're special but you're just another fool like me. Find a new life like I did. Your government does not deserve your loyalty.
You deserved it for spying on me,
D. Mycroft
~
Malfoy.
I don't do what I do out of a sense of loyalty. I do it because I want to be of some use. I'm definitely not all good and am most certainly a fool, you're right.
People keep writing about my bravery. They don't know I fake it. They don't know how afraid I am all the time. If I were less afraid, I'd find that new life.
HP
~
Dear Potter,
I think I might enjoy tales of your masked cowardice. Write some down and send them along with your next letter.
You do what you do because you were brainwashed into thinking that it is your purpose in life. It is decidedly not, I assure you.
Fake it one more time and find that new life. You'll thank me for it. And maybe you'll stop whinging about your crooked nose.
Sincerely,
Draco Malfoy.
~
Dear Malfoy,
Is my nose actually crooked because Hermione insists it's not, and Ron always starts talking about Ludo Bagman's nose? Needless to say, they're not very convincing. I now know why my dates never owl me back.
Speaking of which, I've had help throughout all of my many celebrated adventures. Perhaps if I had help (read: company) I might actually go start that new life. Find a new name too, maybe, while retaining my real initials of course. I'd hate to have to change my signature.
What do you think fits well with "HP"?
Best,
Harry
~
Dear Hideous Pumpkin,
I think your dates might owl you back if you shaved that scraggly beard off and found new glasses. You look like an expensively dressed homeless person in all your press photos.
We have a way of finding what we seek, I think. Three weeks ago, all I really wanted was to make a connection. Now I'm writing this one prat every other day and it feels quite fulfilling, rather.
You do have company. Look closer.
Best,
Draco M
~
Malfoy,
Sorry about the late reply. Work-related rubbish that you're probably not interested in.
I actually have been considering new frames. Do you think I should get bedazzled ones? I think they're in vogue now. They might help bring out my eyes or something.
It's a funny thing: connection. Kind of unpredictable where one might find 'em, right? I think I'm glad the pen pal agency connected me to you. It's definitely a fulfilling connection.
I'm writing this at 3am right before I run into work and get assigned a new mission. I'll be undercover and incognito so receiving/sending mail won't be possible, so I'll respond next when I'm back home. To make up for it, I've written down some of my earliest memories of my life in the cupboard and how I once locked my cousin in there. Go nuts and I hope you pull something as you laugh at me, you prat.
I'll be thinking of you.
Harry
~
Dear Potter,
I enjoyed your little collection of memories. You really were always an idiot, I've learnt. I don't know what on earth possessed you to believe that any of it would make me laugh, though. You rightfully blame me for a crooked nose but you don't think to unapologetically ruin the people who stomped on you like a bug when you were a baby and then proceeded to keep you under their boot until you were eleven?
I'm flying to England on the 24th. I'll be staying at the Ritz, London. If you're back from your mission and you're well, ring me at the hotel and ask for D. Mycroft. We'll have dinner or something. My treat.
I truly despise your job. I don't like the idea of you cut off from me the world like that.
I hope to see you soon.
Draco
~
Potter, I'm writing only because it would be incredibly rude of me to leave without telling you. I don't know what you think of me after last night. I might have asked you, if you'd been here when I woke up.
I'm sorry.
Malfoy
~
Draco, you absolute fucking idiot.
You write to me instead of ringing me on the number I gave you? And then I stroll into the fucking Ritz clutching sausage rolls and shitty coffee and the receptionist has to politely insist that I bugger off because "Mr. Mycroft has checked out already"?!
TEXT ME with your phone number and address. I'll book the next available flight to you.
You fucking idiot oh my god.
Harry
~
Dear Hideous Pumpkin Head,
You left three of your socks here and none match. Also, I know we only just hung up but I still wanted to write because somehow it's harder to insult you when I'm in front of you or listening to your voice.
My sheets stink of you. I'm never leaving this bed, I think.
Draco
~
Draco. Can't call. Destroy your phone and SIM. Stay within wards. Don't lose sight of your wand.
I will contact you as soon as possible. I am so fucking sorry. My god please be safe I am so sorry.
I love you.
Harry
~
Harry,
Did I really need to get a new owl? I'm perfectly safe and I am not afraid. Not anymore. Not when I have you.
I'm hoping that when you write me back, it will be to tell me that you've handed in your notice. The new flat here is enormous and it feels empty without you. Tell me when you'll be shipping your stuff and I'll make arrangements to have them brought here.
I can't wait.
Love,
Draco
~
Harry, why won't you answer your stupid phone? Honestly, I'm tempted to write to the Ministry right now, if only I hadn't spent the last fifteen years wiping away all traces of my existence. How's the notice period going? Have you started packing yet? It's very, very quiet here and it's unsettling. I may end up getting a talking bird and it'll be your fault.
Please call me.
Love,
Draco
~
Harry your phone is turned off and I can't think why and I am writing separately to Granger as well. If I don't hear from either of you in three days, I'm coming back there and I don't care about fucking dark wizards. I'M a dark wizard, as I was reminded often. We'll fight them off together.
Please I can't bear this respond.
Draco
~
Granger says you went missing eleven days ago. I don't care if you're undercover. My owl won't come back without finding you first.
~
Dear Harry,
Today I woke up and looked out the window and it was snowing. Almost Christmas already! That night at the Ritz you talked about your horrifying Christmas experiences as a child and I vowed to rectify that as soon as I'm able.
I've hung up twenty-two stockings, my darling, and they all have your name on it. I have a list of things I think you'd have loved and I'm going to find them all and stuff those stockings until they're bursting.
I'm getting our tree today. You said you'd always wanted a real one. I wish you were here so we could decorate it together. I hate ladders.
I keep thinking about I can't believe it's been six months alre I want you here I can't pretend anymore Please come take me away with you
I miss you. Every second of every minute, I miss you. I love you more with each passing day. I want you to come back Harry plea
Yours, always and with love,
Draco

Smitten - Chapter Three - Aonung's POV
Tumblr media
Mild Warning: Non canon compliant :P
Smitten - Chapter Three - Adore - Aonung's POV
The ride back on Neteyam’s Ikran had been brutal, the pain settled in on his body, there wasn’t a part of him that hadn’t been aching. But Aonung learned fast that the more he reacted to the pain the more Neteyam seemed to be worried.
So Aonung sucked most of it up until they arrived back.
Unfortunately, their parents had been gathered in a line to meet them, Ronal and Tonowari seemed to be a mixture of angry and concerned for their son. “What is this! Why do you look like this? Was this you, demon?” Ronal seemed to accuse Neteyam as she practically yanked her son towards her inspecting him.
“No ma’am..” Neteyam immediately looked down, not wanting to upset Ronal more. He dismissed his Ikran, looking like he was struggling to find the words to describe what had happened.
“Neteyam saved me, please do not disrespect him.” Aonung pulled away from his mother, he looked more insulted than Neteyam had been. “I am fine, I would probably be dead by now if he had not shown up, he deserves respect for that.” Aonung corrected his mother and it was a feat that left many stunned.
“What happened?” Jake asked Neteyam after inspecting his son and not seeing a scratch, “The altercation earlier.. I followed those boys from the Ta’unui clan, they mentioned they would get their brothers and teach Aonung a lesson for embarrassing them. I tried to go back to warn Aonung but I couldn’t find him. So I got on Etera to search.” Neteyam explained to his parents.
Aonung watched from the corner of his eyes, he hoped that Jake and Neytiri would not find some way to blame Neteyam.
“Why didn’t you tell anyone else before you left? You could have been hurt. I’d expect this recklessness from Lo’ak but not you.” Jake huffed and looked disappointed in Neteyam. Neteyam nodded his head and looked down at the sand before looking back up at his father. “I am sorry sir, it won't happen again.” Neteyam apologized, Aonung wanted to scream. How could they blame Neteyam?
“But I do not regret it.”
Neteyam’s words stunned everyone at this point, even Aonung was taken aback by his words. Despite this, there was a small smile tugging on his bruised lips. It wasn’t like Neteyam had disrespected his parents, but Aonung respected that Neteyam finally said something.
“Excuse me?” Neytiri asked, completely full of disbelief that her oldest son had spoken out of line. Aonung could see the twist of emotions on her face, his mother had mirrored the same emotions earlier. There was anger, hurt, and confusion all brewed into one look.
“I reacted completely appropriately for the situation, had I taken any longer or detoured myself, who knows what could have happened.”
Aonung couldn’t even hold back the smirk, Neteyam had finally spoken, a small chuckle escaped his lips and Tonowari gripped the back of his head and pushed in down to bow towards the Sully’s. “Your son speaks the truth, I apologize for any inconvenience my son may have caused, and I thank you for protecting my son.” Tonowari’s words were enough to put an end to the bickering.
“Yes, thank you, Neteyam.” Aonung looked up, a smile adorning his lips as he took in Neteyam’s appearance. His posture was tense, like he was trying to seem strong but Aonung knew he was probably shaking inside from being anxious. Aonung did catch his eyes for a moment, the second they locked they seemed to share a silent moment.
They were thanking each other for different reasons.
Aonung was thanking him for saving him and finally speaking up for himself.
- - - -
The next few days were particularly difficult for Aonung, the injuries he had received and the entire talking back situation had his parents keeping him on a short leash, he wasn’t able to sneak out in the evenings and see his Forrest boy.
Aonung was struggling with just looking at Neteyam during dinner, his mother kept him attached to her so there wasn’t much he could do besides exchange longing looks with one-another as they ate.
It wasn’t much but at least seeing Neteyam was enough to make the day bearable until he had been all healed up.
The Ta’unui clan brought forth a series of topics with Aonung’s parents that he truthfully wished to avoid: Mates, Iknimaya and Olo’eyktan.
“Tane, while he may not have handled it correctly, he had the right idea. You will be Olo’eyktan one day, you must get serious about your Iknimaya to become an adult within the clan. You need to search for a strong mate who will continue our way of life.” His father, Tonowari, spoke to him at dinner.
Did this conversation need to be public? Why speak of this at dinner when the Sully’s were at the other side of the room. Aonung tried to look at Neteyam for.. Guidance? No, that wasn’t it. Maybe confirmation? Could he be bold enough to claim Neteyam as his own at their communal dinner?
But Neteyam didn’t look up at him, he hung his head low as if trying to hide himself.
“I will focus on my Iknimaya, but I will allow my mate to choose me.” Aonung knew who he had in mind as a mate, but claiming Neteyam now without properly courting him would make him just as bad as the men who had sought after his sister's hand.
The dinner progressed, it seemed like it was dragging, and then Neteyam excused himself from dinner.
Aonung took that as his opportunity to escape as well, he didn’t know where Neteyam was heading but he could only imagine he would find him at the end of the beach where he went to clear his mind.
“I knew you’d be here..” Aonung called out as he moved to sit next to Neteyam, his tail almost instinctively wrapping around Neteyam, his finned hand resting atop the others. “I have missed you, my mother worries too much when I am injured and puts me on bed rest.” Aonung felt a need to explain why he hadn’t been around, he grabbed the other's slender hand and pressed a gentle kiss to it.
Much to his surprise, Neteyam slowly pulled away his hand.
“Nete..?” Aonung looked confused, had he done something wrong? Was Neteyam upset with him? His mind ran through all the scenes, he couldn’t recall what he had done wrong.
“You will be Olo’eyktan one day.” Neteyam started to speak, a tense silence filled the gap, “This...This cannot happen.” Neteyam referred to their potential relationship, his hands at his side.
“I do not understand you.. Do you not wish to be with me? Did I do something wrong?” Aonung turned his body to face Neteyam entirely, his hands grabbing both of Neteyam’s and squeezing them gently in the middle of his hands.
“No.. You have done nothing wrong. I think it will be best for us to end this now,” Neteyam couldn’t even look at Aonung in the eyes, his hands were shaking and Aonung couldn’t help but feel hurt that Neteyam would even suggest they stop this relationship now.
“You must be someone of your kind, a strong Metkayina, someone who understands the way of water.” Neteyam’s words were rushed, as if he didn’t want to give Aonung the opportunity to speak.
“I want you,” Aonung felt frustrated immediately, was this why Neteyam wanted to end ‘this’. It was a terrible excuse.
“You must be with your own kind- they will never accept me.. Aonung, you will be a great leader one day, you mustn’t waste your time with someone like me.” Neteyam tried to plead with him, but those golden eyes were saying otherwise.
“You are a strong Metkayina. You are one of us now.” Aonung spoke, he knew he had to keep a level-head otherwise his irrational emotions would get the best of him.
“Aonung.. I am Omatikaya, when the war is over I will return home..” Not even Neteyam believed his own words, Aonung knew it, there was hesitation in that voice. Neteyam’s voice was usually confident when he believed in his words.
“You have been ingrained in me, I do not wish for anyone else but you. I will become an Ole’eyktan worthy of you.” Aonung’s eyes were locked on Neteyam’s, he was looking to see if Neteyam had made his decision.
“Please.. As much as I have enjoyed this time together, and you’ve made me happier than I have been in a long time.. Your parents-” Neteyam was fumbling with his words, they were full of hesitation.
“Then look me in the eyes and tell me you do not wish to be with me, I will not accept this otherwise.” Aonung cut off Neteyam’s fumbling words, Neteyam looked up for a moment in shock.
“I.. I do not..” Neteyam could not look him in the eyes, he tried though and immediately those golden orbs spilled the truth. “I want to be with you.. But you need to be with-” Neteyam started again and Aonung huffed in frustration.
“I do not want anyone other than you, I have every intention to court you.” Aonung cupped Neteyam’s face with both hands, forcing him to lock eyes and look nowhere else.
“I adore you.”
Aonung’s words must have struck heavy with Neteyam because he nodded, his braids bouncing around as he did. Aonung could only take it as Neteyam had accepted his words and would dismiss this thought of ending ‘this’.
“Why must they look like they are in some tragic love story everytime we look for them? I swear your brother better not hurt mine. I’ll rip off that fish tail of his.” Lo’ak asked at the other end of the beach, he had been sent to gather his brother for bed.
Similarly, Tsireya had been tasked with the same thing. “Perhaps their relationship is troubled..I wonder if ours will be like that.” Tsireya spoke softly, tilting her head as they walked through the sand slowly just enjoying their time together.
“I would fight Payakan for you,” Lo’ak said seriously and Tsireya couldn’t help but giggle at that. “You would not need to do that, but I do appreciate the thought.” The two locked hands as they decided to give the couple at the other end of the beach some much needed alone time.

Tumblr media
“As cases continue to rise officials have announced as of 12am tonight a nationwide lockdown will be enforced.”
Six pairs of eyes were glued to the large screen, most of them worried-- yours however only showed off pure irritation.
“-- in order to minimise rising case numbers President Moon announced a country wide travel ban. Non Korean residents will have paid flights back to their home country, Korean residents outside the country will not be let back in until further notice--”
Your stomach plummeted. You're stuck here for as long as your brother is stuck in the Netherlands..
“Y/N?”
You could hear the men around you calling out to you, but it sounded muffled, like your head was under water.
The five men around you were panicking at your frozen state, you were like a statue-- even Jeongguk was unable to hide his worry.
Taehyung was sitting by your feet whining, his arms wrapped around his own torso. He had tried to hug your legs, wanting to provide some comfort to your shaking form but Namjoon had nudged him away, sending a warning look before crouching by your side and trying to pull your attention back.
“Y/N, you need to breathe--relax.” He cooed, his hands balled into fists on his thighs. It was taking all his energy to not reach out and touch you, to hold you and promise everything was okay. “Jay will be fine, he’s safe with Mila.”
Unfortunately, the boy's sweet attempts to console you only made you feel worse. They didn’t know you were panicking about being here longer. They thought you were worried for your brother's safety.
But you were only worried about your own.
“Y/N, do you think I could come to the store with you?” Seokjin’s voice asked shyly, his hands tightly gripping one another. “I just thought since I know the boys well— and my ah, physical differences are easier to hide—“
You raised an eyebrow, smirking at the babbling hybrid. You had grown much more confident with the polar bear hybrid, and even a few of the others thanks to being locked in 24/7. You had still yet to meet Hoseok and Yoongi, and Jeongguk was more than happy to keep as much distance from you as humanly possible, but otherwise, you were somewhat comfortable in your surroundings for once.
The few occasions you were able to leave the house was to get groceries and other essentials, but otherwise being caught out of the house without solid reasoning would land you a hefty fine and you weren’t exactly financially stable enough to pay thousands of dollars.
Your brother had been in contact with you, making sure the boys were all doing fine and that you were coping with the news and long term adjustment. He had been supplying you money, and you weren’t sure where he was getting it from. His clinic had been shut since he left the country so it wasn’t from there, but you were too deep in your self pity to question it.
“Sure, I don’t see why no—“
“No fair. If Jin Hyung can go out I wanna too!” Taehyung whined, appearing from thin air. His dark hair hung over his eyes, still dripping from his shower.
“Your tail is too noticeable.” Jin shrugged, wrapping a long arm over your tiny shoulders.
The brunette glared at the blond, stomping over to pull you away. Lightly grabbing the pocket of your white hoodie and tugging you into his chest. You wriggled, trying to pull out of his grip but it only seemed to make it tighten.
“You’re always selfish with her!” The younger complained, resting his chin on the crown of your head.
A dramatic groan came from behind you as Jin, no doubtedly, rolled his eyes at the monkey's words. “I can’t help it if I’m her favourite.”
Taehyung stiffened. You could feel him grinding his teeth, the sound of his teeth dragging made you feel nauseous.
“She doesn’t have favourites.” Namjoon cut in, carefully pulling you out of the monkey's arms and wrapping his own around your shoulder. “And Jin Hyung is right, your tail is too noticeable.”
Taehyung’s wide eyes narrowed, his arms crossed over his chest. “You’re the only one who can’t keep it still!” He argued.
Namjoon’s face flushed pink, his jaw jutting out. It was true. Like animals, hybrids often displayed their emotions and moods through tail movements, and while the others had passed with flying colours in emotional control, Namjoon had always struggled.
“Be that as it may, we can’t risk it. Hyung will go with Y/N and help pick out foods best suited to each of us.” He said sternly, sounding confident despite the pink tinge to his round cheeks.
You smiled apologetically at the monkey hybrid. He was clearly biting his tongue, arms tightly crossed and eyes squinting.
“Fine. But when you get back Y/Nie is playing with me.”
Grocery shopping had always been easy. You only had yourself to think of, but now you had seven others depending on you. You weren’t sure about allergies, or even just what everyone liked and disliked.
You still needed to get around to those files…
Thankfully your brother had left behind a card for shopping, knowing your pathetic bank account would ever be able to handle more than one shop.
With Seokjin leaning on the handles of the shopping cart he directed you where to go, what to grab all while letting you browse and pick out your own snacks.
“Yoongi and Hobi will be joining us tonight, I’ll need to get more meat. Yoongi practically inhales it.” The hybrid sighed, voicing his thoughts aloud.
You glanced over your shoulder, smiling softly at the sight of Seokjin. He was dressed comfortably, washed out blue jeans, a white sweater and a red cap. Round glasses sat on the bridge of his nose as he read over packaging, his plump lips pouting as he considered every item.
“Do you think we could get lamb, Y/N?” He piqued up, dropping three packets of snacks into the cart before waddling to catch up to you.
“I don’t see why not, it’s my brothers card after all.” You shrugged, grinning. You held back a laugh as his cheeks turned pink, attempting to hide the bright colour he rushed forward to avoid your gaze.
You had noticed the boys were all easily flustered, you found it funny. Sometimes Jimin or Jin tried to say something flirty, and when you countered back the two turned red and made excuses to run away. Sometimes you just had to talk to them and their faces would turn redder than an apple.
Taehyung was a little more difficult, most of the time he was rather clueless with what he said, or at least that’s how he played it off to be.
Namjoon just didn’t try. He just preferred to leave cute gifts for you on your bed; Flowers he had grown that were in season, fruits and clumsily made origami.
Jeongguk completely avoided you, and Taehyung the little asshole, made sure to tell you the youngest hybrid liked you, telling you how the youngest was always staring at you or asking his brothers about what you were doing.
“The look that the cashier gave you was so rude!” Seokjin huffed, closing the passenger door.
You rolled your eyes, starting the car. You didn’t blame the poor girl, you had bought so much food it caused a huge back up, the line running down the isles . You couldn’t even look at the cashier, too embarrassed.
The car ride was pretty quiet, the only sounds were Seokjin humming along to the radio and the crinkling from the candy packet. He seemed to be deep in thought, and as much as you wanted to ask what was on his mind you forced your mouth to stay shut.
Sure, you were somewhat comfortable around him and you assumed he was comfortable around you, but you knew that there wasn’t any friendship foundation, you had no right to pick around his brain— no matter how intrigued you were.
So you stayed silent, while the hybrid beside you happily chewed away at the gummy bears he had begged for.
As your brother’s neighbourhood approached, Seokjin finally decided to talk. He wriggled around until he was angled enough to look over your smaller body.
He thought you were pretty. Very pretty.
The way you smelt was enchanting, always leaving him dizzy and fumbling for words, just like now.
He felt like a fish out of water, his mouth opening and closing, eyebrows pulled together in frustration as he tried to spit out words, any words. Just something so he didn’t look like an idiot for another second.
“Don’t freak out.”
When your head shot over, a crack sounding from the joints making him cringe, he wanted to melt into his seat. He felt his neck and cheeks turn red, an awkward laugh forced passed his lips.
“Sorry— sorry. I just meant, don’t let Yoongi make you feel uncomfortable.” He clarified, mentally kicking his abrupt outburst. When you raised an eyebrow he took it as a signal to continue.
“Yoongi can be stiff?” He paused, considering his words. “He can be two ways, blunt and sort of arrogant— which he isn’t I promise!”
“Or, he’s cocky and imposing. He’ll try to push your buttons, find out what makes you uncomfortable or mad.” He explained, clicking his tongue as he thought. “But don’t worry, Hoseok and Namjoon keep him in line.”
When the car fell silent Seokjin felt his veins turn to ice. The last thing he wanted was for you to be uncomfortable, or scared. He’d leave yoongi out in the cages before he allowed that.
“I grew up with Jay, I’m immune to annoying boys.”
The smile on your lips, although forced, relaxed him slightly. You really seemed to be trying, even if it wasn’t for them and more so for your brother, he appreciated it. It made his insides feel like marshmallows.
He watched your fingers tap on the grip of the steering wheel, your lips sucked in thin between your teeth as you thought. A cute habit of yours Jin had picked up on almost instantly.
“I’ll be next to you, I won’t leave your side!” He promised, a hand over his heart and the other up in the air. “Scouts honour— and I can say that.”
The proud grin on his plush lips made you break out into a small smile of your own.
“And the other boy?”
Seokjin dropped a red candy into his mouth, chewing twice before speaking. “Hoseok?” He looked to you for confirmation, seeing your curt nod he continued.
“Hobi is playful, he gets along well with the younger boys. He can be a bit much, he’s loud. But he’s a good guy, you don’t have to worry about him.”
“Hoseok— oh for Christ’s sake! Get off! All of you out, they’ll be back any minute now!”
Namjoon’s scolding voice could be heard throughout the entire house, not that it mattered. Everyone was gathered in the one tiny space.
The tiny office space that had been converted into a makeshift bedroom was bursting at its seams with the six men all huddled in.
The youngest three, Jeongguk, Taehyung and Jimin had snuck in to play on the PC’s while you were missing. Jimin hadn’t been interested in playing, so instead he took the chance to snoop through your belongings.
Hoseok, lonely after a week of separation, found his brothers quickly. But his original mission, finding the maknaes, was abandoned the moment your scented room hit his senses. Your perfume and natural musk stuck to everything in the room, almost as if you had lived in the space your whole life.
It was mouth watering.
Ignoring Jimin, who watched the bigger hybrid worriedly, Hoseok joined in the snooping. Mostly just looking through books and sniffing sweaters before getting bored and collapsing onto the fold out bed, an excited laugh filling the quiet room as he rolled over the unmade sheets.
It didn’t take long for Hoseok and Jimin arguing over the small bed to wake up Yoongi. But unfortunately he got to the mess a little late, arriving just as Namjoon did. The younger boy practically tore out his hair as he tried to remove his pack from the room.
Failing, obviously.
The situation was quite funny to the sleepy hybrid. Yoongi’s snickering was infuriating the Wolf hybrid further, his anger and panic almost over powering the soft feminine smell that you had left behind.
“— Jeongguk you know you aren’t supposed to be in here! Taehyung, you’re supposed to be making sure he doesn’t cause trouble, not helping!” Namjoon groaned, head in palms.
The youngest two barely looked away from the screens, their eyes only momentarily flickering over to Namjoon. So instead Jimin piped up, stepping out from behind the much taller hybrid.
“We just thought since she was gone we could take advantage—“
“You thought it would be okay to sneak through someone’s personal belongings!?”
The fox hybrid turned bright pink, his ears flattening to the top of his head. Guilt flooded his features as he practically dislocated his fingers behind his back.
“That wasn’t my intention—“
Their leader was livid, and not even for being disobeyed. He was familiar with the feeling— jealousy. They all smelt like you, and now your room smelt of them.
You smelt like someone other than him— and to make it worse, your musk had been mixed with multiple other male hybrids. It made his stomach churn.
“Your intentions don’t matter anymore.” He snapped, pointing to the door where Yoongi rested. “Out, all of you.”
Not a single person made an effort to move, all five pairs of eyes locked on their leader almost as if they were daring him to try and remove the group. The whole situation was amusing to Yoongi who still hadn’t said a word to his brothers, just watched everything as he usually did.
But the sound of your tires crunching on the gravel driveway sent the boys flying for the front door before an argument could breakout, much to his disappointment.
Yoongi and Jeongguk were the only two that waited in the living room, not reacting to your arrival with enthusiasm.
“Y/N! You’re home!” Taehyung cheered, running out the front door, ignoring the stinging pain of the sharp rocks stabbing into his bare feet.
Before the monkey hybrid could pull you into his body for a hug he was yanked to a halt by Jin.
“Help with the bags first.” He scolded, shoving the heavier bags into the younger boy's arms.
Whining Taehyung obeyed, his knuckles turning white as he practically ran to dump the bags in the kitchen. Namjoon and Jimin followed in Taehyung's direction, arms full with heavy bags until everything was unpacked.
It was after everything was put away where it needed to be that Taehyung engulfed you in his arms, nuzzling his nose into the crook of your neck. He was breathing in so heavily you felt like the boy was about to inhale your skin.
“You were gone for so long--” He paused, his arms tightening on you as he shuffled around. Your back was now facing everyone so Taehyung could glare at his elder. “You hogged her on purpose!”
Seokjin groaned, the younger boy's accusation not even bothering him. He knew his brothers had grown attached to their temporary carer. He was however beginning to worry that everyone was experiencing the same feelings. Your original four weeks of house sitting was officially up tomorrow, and he felt selfish knowing you were stuck here until the government decided otherwise, and not only their government but the Netherlands too.
He had been so excited the moment he heard you step out the car. The moment your car tires had stopped crunching on gravel and your door swung open the strong scent of Spring hit him-- despite it being WInter. You smelt fresh, like flowers and pollen, and yet sweet like sugar. You smelt perfect.
The first time he saw you, the night you come out with their meals he almost dropped to his knees to worship you. Long (H/C), wavy hair hung down your back, messy and slightly knotted from your hands attacking it. Your glasses were dangerously low on your nose as you struggled to drag the chunk of elk meat across the ground. Your lips were pouted, but he could tell that even if you weren’t sulking they would look nearly the same. You were pretty like a doll. Small, petite shoulders and rounded hips and plush thighs he dreamed of falling asleep on.
You were perfect, and his.
Until he realised, maybe you weren’t just for him.

"It's all your fault y/n!" The words kept repeating themselves in your  mind as you arrived back at the tower after a failed mission. Clint was  hit bad by your minor distraction or as Tony accused - negligence. You  tried your best to explain the situation to Tony on the quinjet, but he  just shushed you the whole time, earning glares and disappointed looks  from your other teammates. Nobody spoke a word to you on your way back  to the compound, frustration filling in your chest, blaming yourself for  how stupid you are.
Your mission was to keep a look out for any hidden snipers or traps. And since Tony was the one who called your name to discuss something with you, it was at that moment Clint was hit in his side by a stray bullet. So technically, it wasn't your fault, right? Tony disagreed however.
Back at the compound, everyone made their way to the commons room, you  followed shortly behind to get some water from the refrigerator and some  snacks to take to your room just so you could give the team some space.   You sat alone on the barstool for a couple of minutes, taking the lid  off your water and taking a huge mouthful. The icy cold water felt good   trickling down your throat. A fist banging down on the kitchen island startled you, almost causing  you to choke to death. Tony's eyes piercing through your own, and for  once you were actually scared of the playboy. "Alright y/n, I'm going to  ask you this one time - what the hell happened back there?" He said in a  lowered voice, obviously not wanting to cause a major scene in front of  the team. You swallowed hard before answering, "I dont know Tony. I  just didn't see the guy because you were talki-" "BULLSHIT Y/N!" Tony roared, his voice booming through your ears and  throughout the tower. A thick lump formed in the back of your throat,  you swallowed it down harshly. Your breath obviously shaken with nerves, you couldn't believe he wasn't taking any responsibility for this, what was so urgent he needed to discuss with you on the field that couldn't wait until you were back at the tower?
"its bullshit!" Tony repeated in a normal voice, "you're just so  goddamn distracted on the field! If Clint died, it would have been on  YOUR CONSCIENCE!" Tony started yelling in your face, his breath fanning  your skin, you just sat there and took it hoping it would make him feel  better. "I'm so disappointed in you, you could have killed him. I hope  you're proud with your actions today. For the time being until your  training improves, you're staying behind at the tower. No more missions  for a minimum - A MINIMUM of six months!" He boomed, before you could  ask any questions, he strode out the door and joined the teammates on  the couch with a six pack of beer. You just sat on the stool quietly  with your thoughts, thinking about every word Tony just said to you. You   fiddled with the bottle cap in your fingers, an uneasiness feeling in   your chest. You never saw Tony so angry. But you did accept the   consequences, it just pissed you off he wouldn't let you speak. Now you were thinking of how you could escape from the kitchen area to your room without them seeing you, right now you just wanted to be alone  and you were sure everyone else had heard Tony yelling in your face. You heard everyone's voices in the room next to the kitchen, laughing  and joking, it seemed. You grabbed a couple bottles of water, and quietly  you paced from the kitchen heading straight to the door on the other  side of the commons room. As soon as you stepped out from the kitchen  you noticed everyone had stopped their conversations, you didn't dare  look in their direction. You just sped to the door that was now in front  of you, opening and closing it quickly behind you. Sighing in relief,  you decide to just take the stairs to your floor. At least there was no  risk of bumping into anyone. Three floors later, and you were finally on your floor. You were still  feeling apprehensive, and it worsened when you heard the elevator doors  slide open and close behind you, followed closely by big heavy booted footsteps.  "Doll?" You heard his voice, and without turning around you knew it was  Bucky Barnes, he was the only person in the tower to use such pet names with the ladies. Sometimes it bothered you, other times it made you  blush. You were not in the mood right now for such names. "Are you going  to yell at me too?" You asked turning your head slightly, keeping your  gaze to the floor. "Go ahead, I deserve it" you finished saying, turning  your head back in front of you, taking in a deep breath. Bucky wasn't  afraid to speak his mind, you had a feeling he would want to say  something to you, about your stupidity. But the yelling never came,  instead he stepped closer to you and pressed his bionic arm on your  shoulder, giving a comforting squeeze. "I'm not going to yell at you,  doll" he said quietly, as if he knew the distress you were in. "But it's  my fault" you replied coldly, a tear finally rolling down your cheek.  The sound of your voice breaking broke Bucky's heart, if anyone understood what it meant to keep making mistakes it was him. Without   another word, you pressed on into your room. Hearing Bucky's footsteps   right behind you. "Sweetheart, every single person in the world makes  mistakes. It is not your fault, Tony just needed someone to blame. Clint  is going to be fine" he said gently, stepping further into the room.  The only sounds that filled the air was his bionic arm whirring, his  deep heavy breaths and your shaky ones. "But Tony hates me, everyone hates me. You hate me" you turned away from  the super soldier. His gaze burning into the back of your head. "No doll, I could never hate you. I'll always be here for you. I'll  always be here to protect you. You're my favorite little person, y'know?  Doll, please look at me" Bucky pleaded. You slowly turned around, his eyes were soft and his lips tugged up into a lopsided smile. "Did you just... did you just call me little?" You asked, dramatically  gasping playfully. A chuckle rumbled from Bucky's chest, echoing off the  four walls. Bucky stepped closer to you, closing the gap between your  bodies. It was hard to deny your feelings for the soft soldier, you noticed how  he seemed to favorite you. Always defending you, and picking your side  whenever you and Nat would have a disagreement about something. It was  hard for you to admit he was also your favorite person in the tower,  Bucky was supposed to be this mean, closed off man. And he is with other  people, but when he's around you, he laughs, jokes and is a completely different  Bucky to what you will see on a mission. You trust him with your life,  and you knew if he said he would always be here for you and protect you,  he meant it. Even if it meant keeping you safe from yourself, he didn't tell you yet but  he would stay behind with you when everyone goes on a mission. Leaving  you is not an option, you are an amazing avenger, and believed it was  over the top Tony dropping you from further missions temporarily over a  simple mistake that shouldn't have been your responsibility anyway, it  was for the whole group to keep an eye out for snipers, and since Tony was the one who distracted you in the first place, well that just pissed him off. He made a mental  note to tell Tony his thoughts, he was sick of his arrogance. The team   needed you, even Tony knew it. But his stubbornness got in the way, always treating you like a child, now allowing you to grow and be your own person. "Bucky..." you say, wrapping your arms around his midsection, Bucky  wrapping his arms around your back, bringing you in closer and just  holding you. This is what you needed, a hug from a certain person. "I  love your hugs" you mumble against his chest, not sure if he heard you.  But with his enhanced hearing, he heard you perfectly well. He strokes your hair with his flesh hand, and   rubbing circles on your back with his metal one. You lifted your head   and rested your chin on his chest, looking up to his cerulean blue eyes,  noticing the beard he was growing and smiling because you realized he was growing it because you once said you would love to see him with a beard like Steve's. And you would shamefully  admit you've never kissed a man with a beard. "What are you thinking about, doll?" He questions you, noticing your smile. His tongue darts out to wet his bottom lip. "You. " You simply answer, moving your hands from his midsection to the back of his neck, bringing him down to meet your lips. Bucky is surprised by your sudden move. But quickly accepts the invitation. His  flesh hand moving to the back of your head, to angle it differently to  deepen the kiss. His lips are soft, and the beard tickles your chin, making you giggle  slightly. Bucky pulls away slightly surprised by your giggle. "What?" He asks you with a smile. You shrug a little, "your beard tickles" you chuckle shyly. "Its the  first time I've kissed a man with a beard" you admit shamefully, tucking  his brown locks behind his ear. Bucky joins you in a chuckle. "Are you going to keep it?" You ask after a moment of silence, your hands still wrapped around his neck. "Hmmm" he pretends to think, "only on the condition you'll be my girl" he grins, darting his eyes from your eyes to your lips and back again. You playfully consider his options, tapping your finger on the back of his neck and you feel him shudder. "Deal." You say, bringing his soft plump pink lips back down to yours again. "I love you doll" he whispers against your lips, pulling away slightly to read your face. "I love you too Bucky" you say honestly. You might have secretly been in love with him for a long time. Later that evening, Bucky kept his mental promise and had a stern word with Stark. Tony promised he would find you tomorrow and apologize. As Bucky also promised, Clint made a full recovery. You had peeled back the duvet covers and climbed into bed with some  chocolate. Bucky joined you shortly after, you both layed in your bed,  cuddling, his metal hand on your hip, and his flesh hand resting on top  of your head as your head is pressed against his broad chest. You both  found a Netflix series that interested you, and this was the perfect  excuse to be close to your new boyfriend every night.
