About mid-S7 at the moment of my first ever watch of the show. Clara is great and everything, and Eleven is lovely sometimes, but like,,,,, I still miss my favourite chaotic dumbasses Ten and Donna. Will I ever get over them?

dude IM mid s7 in my rewatch right now we’re synced up!! i wasn’t super fond of clara the first time i watched it but i really love her this time around. i agree that 11 is really hit or miss :/ he has some amazing lines, and matt smith is undeniably an Amazing actor but moffat’s writing is. bad sometimes. donna and ten are a duo that you just Don’t Get Over Ever sadly... they’re so good

20. Protected me from danger.

I… kind of went for 24 (Died for me) too? So… this fic features stabbing violence, death, and a little bit of blood

When Romeo and Benvolio heard the clashing of swords, they knew it meant trouble. They ran towards the source of the commotion and soon discovered the fight. There were a dozen young people fighting on a square in broad daylight. Mercutio was there, at the centre of the agitation, his sword screeching against Tybalt’s. The Prince would have been furious.

Romeo immediately ran to Mercutio.

“Stop fighting!” His voice sounded shrill and childish. “Fighting just makes things worse!”

Mercutio looked at him, a little surprised by his presence.

“Dear friend,” he said with a grin, “why don’t you let me have this nice little bonding moment with my favourite nemesis?”

“Shut up you dog!” snapped Tybalt.

Romeo stopped – the three of them were standing in an awkward circle. The two enemies still held their swords menacingly; Romeo was unarmed. Benvolio stood at a little distance, weary. The fighting had stopped. Everyone seemed to be waiting.

Mercutio’s smile widened. Romeo knew that meant more teasing, probably destined to Tybalt. He pleaded silently for his friend to reconsider but, if vocal pleas rarely achieved anything, silent ones had no chance.

“It’s funny dear Prince of Cats,” said Mercutio, “that you call other people dogs… Or is this a special pet name you keep just for me?”

Tybalt was not amused.

“I’ll make you shut up!”

He brandished his sword and lunged towards Mercutio.

Of course everything happened very quickly, but to Romeo time seemed to have slowed down. His mind was blank; he only heard a beating in his ears. He had no notion of how he commanded his body to move, but he flung himself in front of Mercutio and received the full blow of Tybalt’s blade.

All the sounds he had not been hearing rushed to his ears as the pain seared through his torso and radiated through his body. Tybalt gasped. Mercutio gasped. Someone screamed. Romeo felt sick.

Mercutio dropped his sword as Romeo fell to the ground. He kneeled close to his friend, who was bleeding a lot. Everyone was looking at them in silence. Romeo spluttered and gasped.

“Don’t speak,” whispered Mercutio, placing his finger softly on his lips. “You’re a fool… You’re too pure for this world – too stupid too – but that’s why I love you.”

Romeo grabbed the hand Mercutio had tried to silence him with.

“You what?”

Mercutio took Romeo in his arm and gently sat him up. He held him tightly yet tenderly, cradling him with trembling hand, hiding his face in Romeo’s curls.

“I love you beautiful fool.”

There was a moment’s silence. Romeo was breathing heavily.

“I’m sorry,” he finally whispered. “I must’ve been the worst.”

“No you weren’t, sweet Romeo. You protected me. You were my best friend.”

“Just your best friend?”

Mercutio chuckled.

Romeo was terrified. He feared the dark nothingness that already obscured his vision. Mercutio’s embrace was the last one he would ever feel before the cold embrace of death. Already his body felt too numb, yet the tone of Mercutio’s voice carried a regret that moved him. He pulled his friend back so that they were face to face. He closed his eyes, fearing that the shadow of another world was already visible in them.

Then Romeo kissed him.

NINE | last film watched: watched because I wanted to or because I happened to? These are different... And I don’t really watch them all that often. But the last thing I watched was “Good Omens”, yeah.

TEN | inspiration for muse: literally everything, but there’s always a 70% chance that this something has at least something to do with musicals. 

ELEVEN | dream job: a singer/actor in musicals. Which will never happen, because alas! I sing atrociously. I love my current job though, being an English teacher is fun.

TWELVE | meaning behind your URL: shadowofthemoth? Oh, very easy. Look at my userpic, see that silhouette of a finger butterfly? This is Morpho, a symbol of my favourite rock band Poets of the Fall. I mimicked the structure of the band’s name (”X of the Y”), took the word “moth” because I love moths as a symbol... and the idea behind the word “shadow” was inspired  half by the photo I use as a userpic, half by the thought that I am exactly that: not even a moth but merely its shadow, something so very tiny and insignificant... but imagine a moth without a shadow and the world becomes unsettling; think of the so-called “butterfly effect” and imagine what change could the absence of just one moth bring about. Yeah. 

And also I just think moths are cute. XD

Kinda went with the whole paragraph for some context, but bolded the true last line. It's from a dark!Doctor and morally ambiguous Graham fic that focuses on them being presented with the 'Trolley Problem' and the choices they made by doing it and thr fallout after said choices. Save Ryan and Yaz and kill twenty-one or do nothing and let them die.

ONE | name / alias: My actual name is Réka (pronounced rey-ka if someone has trouble with the accented letter), and I go by Reika sometimes. I don't actually have an internet nickname to be honest. I used to use Sparrowjay/Sparrow from the ages of 12-14, but rebranded. Thank God.

It is one of those nights where the tragic memories of his past prey at his peaceful nap. He can still feel the fragments of a grim nightmare lingering on the edges of his consciousness. Rubbing away the remains of sleep from his eyes, he raises with a great effort and strolls downstairs.

Thankful enough not to find Sherlock awake at this hour of the night, he tiptoes his way into the kitchen, careful not to wake that insomnolent creature. He makes himself a cup of tea to soothe his itching nerves and takes a sip to check-

‘John?’

The hot liquid splashes onto the left side of his body and the cup gravitates straight to the floor as he abruptly turns around.

'Oh - ouch.’ Sherlock runs to him and grasps his left hand to inspect the damage. He trails his fingertips over the scalded areas of the back of his hand upto his forearm, without uttering a word. John hisses into the quietness as he touches a tender spot and Sherlock’s eyes flinch in a way as if he is the one who got burnt. He switches his attention to the left side of John’s face without really meeting his eyes. John stills under his scrutinising gaze. It’s so delightfully unsettling to be the sole focus of this glorious being that John forgets all about the dreadfulness of this night.

'Did it fall on your face?’ The concern in his voice rips through John’s heart. He is too smitten to form a proper answer so he shakes his head instead. Sherlock doesn’t look satisfied. He leans closer and blows a cool breath across the left side of his face. John inhales sharply and calms himself enough to understand how a cool breath of air can burn stronger than a boiling cup of tea.

Sherlock gauges his reaction as painful and draws back to walk into the bathroom and fetch the first aid kit. He brings it into the kitchen where John stands frozen at his place. Without a word, he opens the tap and takes John’s hand again to place under running water. It’s no more than a first degree burn. Sherlock dries his hand gently afterwards and picks a topical local anesthetic to apply on the hurt areas while John stares at him in bewilderment.

'Come lie down with me.’ Sherlock states after a while in a simple manner without taking his eyes off the burnt skin. It’s not a plea, not a command. Just a quiet statement to let John know that he understands. The agony of tragic pasts and sleepless nights. He understands all of it.

John’s lips break into a bittersweet smile as his chest swells with adoration for this man. This man who deduced him right to the depth of his core without even so much as a look. He turns his hand in Sherlock’s hold and tugs at it. With their faces close enough for their breaths to intermingle, John murmurs a soft thank you right against his lips. Sherlock welcomes it with a smile.

And after sharing a sweet kiss for an uncertain period, Sherlock holds out his hand and gestures towards his room. Blissful over the turnings of this night, John complies.
