EVERY ODD NUMBER HAS AN E IN IT
A classic tumblr post is "Every odd number has an E in it". Started by shower thoughts, it has quickly spiraled into a ridiculous conversation with a lot of wrong turns. Today, I will try to explain it.
Let's look at every number from one to twenty and highlight the Es, also checking if they're even or odd.
One: Odd
Two: Even
Three: Odd
Four: Even
Five: Odd
Six: Even
Seven: Odd
Eight: Even
Nine: Odd
Ten: Even
Eleven: Odd
Twelve: Even
Thirteen: Odd
Fourteen: Even
Fifteen: Odd
Sixteen: Even
Seventeen: Odd
Eighteen: Even
Nineteen: Odd
Twenty: Even
Every number after that has at least one of those words in its number. There are exceptions of course, such as thirty fourty, fifty, sixty, etc. but that doesn't matter because every exception is even.
Now, you might notice that there are even numbers with at least one E in them (Eight, Ten, Twelve, Fourteen, Sixteen, Eighteen, Twenty) but that doesn't matter either, because the idea is not that every number with an E in it is odd, it's that every odd number has an E in it. An even number can be Even and still have an E.
As for zero, zero is a little complicated whether it's even or odd, but that doesn't matter because it still has an E in it (Zero).
EXTRA NOTES:
The first rebuttal said that 30 and 50 don't have an E in them, that is because they are even. Then, someone said that if you can't split a number evenly, it is odd. While that is true, it doesn't mean 30 and 50 are odd. As the next person explained, 15+15=30 and 25+25=50. However, this next person accidentally said that 25+25=30. Probably a typo.
The next person says 1, 3, 5, and 9. However, he forgot 7. Quite a few people will end up forgetting a number, but nobody ever mentions 11, 13, 15, 17, or 19, even though it's still a good idea to do so.
The next person (besides the person who mentions eight is even and has an e, but I already went over that) says that 2 is odd. This is wrong. 2 is even.
Then someone mentions that 30 and 50 have the "E" sound in their pronunciations. While that is true, it does not matter, as they are both even. Then someone else says 1 is even (A: not true and B: wouldn't matter anyway)

#ashita no joe#yeah#idk just the way that they loved and understood each other#when that understanding necessarily came from physical violence they must inflict on each other#that post that’s like joe can only understand affection when it’s punching him in the face is true!!#when someone like noriko who he does care for tries to connect with him#the connection can never be complete bc she doesn’t understand what boxing is to joe (and carlos)#which is interesting bc someone like yoko who is one of joes number one enablers pretty much ever tries to have a more personal conversation#with him that’s not about his fights (him getting in the car with her bc he assumes she’s taking him to jose#him avoiding and getting throwing shit at her over the course of the series when she tries to personally help him)#he is hostile to for a lot of the time#idk it’s just like yoko is the closest thing he has to one of his oppenents in terms of understanding what boxing means and he lowkey hates#her maybe bc she is extremely privileged#she’s kind of playing at this boxing is everything when to her it’s really not#her family is incredibly wealthy and she never goes through turmoil herself over the plot (expect for the loss of rikiishi)#while the boxers of the series go through hardship#joe is a homeless orphan#rikiishi is in the juvenile detention center for almost killing someone#carlos also grew up in the slums#pretty much every boxer in the series has a reason why they MUST box#while there is no reason why yoko MUST be a promoter really other than her odd enabling of joe#i got far away from my original point but i just have so many thoughts abt this series😭😭#the anime elitists cooked with this one i fear#anyway it is now 1am and i’m tired👍#have no clue if this makes sense#need someone to yap abt this to😭#sorry for the block of text that probably does not make any sense

Learning more about your mental illnesses is just like oh, so that wasn't just a random quirk, huh.
#i hated being in doctors/dentists offices because of the tiles on the ceiling#i had to count every single one of them without interruption and sort the weird cut pieces into a solid piece#and the number was always odd so i had to recount and find a way to make it even#or make that odd number more even like i could handle the odd number being five but seven or nine were the worst#and the entire visit i was just recounting and cutting the tiles into different patterns to make it work#and i thought that was just a weird quirk about me#that and many other things similar to that#tiles are the worst#whether they're on the floor or the ceiling they're being counted with rules that are really hard to ignore#even when i acknowledge what I'm doing i can't just stop#i think I'm a bit better about it now#especially with food#i used to chew every bite 150 times#and every food had rules on how i could eat it#chips were so annoying#i could only eat them in fives#but that's the amount i could hold#i had to eat one at a time#one chip - chewing it 150 times#and people wondered why it took me so long to eat#it was good for me in some ways like i do want to chew more and take my time eating#but it's a slippery slope

that geoguessr guy has gotta be some sort of psychic, whether he’s clairsentient or whichever clair he’s getting the info from…. i’m sorry there’s just no way u can see a patch of dirt and accurately “guess” the exact 50 mile radius of some tiny remote island. half the time he doesn’t even KNOW before he “guesses” he’ll be like “idk for some reason i’m just feeling this vicinity but i’ve never seen this before” and then ur telling me he gets it right every single time? without even being confident in his knowledge? my guy. the statistics for correctly guessing flew out the window a long time ago. u are psychic
#actually the thing that convinces me most is how little he thinks about it before picking#as someone who is a little bit psychic and relies mostly on clairsentience. the way i practice is by Not Thinking#let’s say someone is trying to make me guess what number they’re thinking of or smth#if i stop to think about it or use logic in any way… i’ll get it wrong bc the odds of correctly ‘guessing’ are very slim#if i don’t think At All and act purely on instinct i’ll get it right almost every time#the way he looks at it for half a second and seems to know immediately EXACTLY where it is…..#that’s not. like that’s not how that works. even if u were a genius u would take a moment to study the clues to make an accurate hypothesis#he doesn’t even KNOW how he’s getting it right half the time and that’s what sold me
