i've said before that anais and astarion are both street cats but it's important to me that you all understand:

anais is a feral cat. they've been on the streets all their life. they are not even the least bit socialized for humanoid contact when the game begins.

astarion is a stray cat. he is mildly socialized, but it came from an abusive home, so he mainly knows how to manipulate humanoids while keeping his distance. he can get along with people, but he's mainly doing it to get you to do what he wants.

i honestly really like love from the other side?? it feels like a good mix of pre-hiatus fob and post-hiatus fob. and i really like their MANIA album, even though it was kind of a departure from their typical sound, but it's also nice to hear some more guitar-driven tracks again :D

and the lyrics!! i love fob lyrics so much, and this song is no exception. i love all the little images they draw out - i think my jaw dropped when i got to the "we were a hammer to the statue of David" line, just because it was such a striking image to me, i guess. and after all the apocalypse mentions, you'd better believe i'm trying to think up some kind of byler fic idea to go with this song heheheh
