Ok so foxes can't purr like cats, just imitate the noise but not necessarily its function, however I shall completely disregard that. SO you know that purring also has like, healing side effects to it, kinda? Like the stuff about cats purring at a frequency that soothes anxiety or lessens the chance of a heart attack (<-second one kinda dubious but I haven't done enough research into this tbh) and then the guy who figured out his cat was sick because it was purring way too much and it became concerning

Now onto what I Actually wanted to say!! there's a scene stuck in my head, so; Prime bros universe, sometime after Nine at last gets comfortable in his living situation. And after a picnic or a movie night or something that forces him to relax outside of his room, he just feels so content and loved for the first time in his life he subconsciously starts to purr.

This of course confuses him once he notices it because before this, he was used to only conciously purring to soothe himself after being hurt, and he was the exact opposite of that at this moment, weird. Que in like Tails or someone who's sitting the closest to him taking note of Nine's quiet confusion and explaining what it actually means and it leaving a bittersweet feeling in the air.
