Hello dear tumblr people!

I reappear once again to state the obvious: this blog almost certainly won't be as active as it used to be.

It's always in the back of my mind as an unfinished project, and I don't find it very polite to suddenly disappear one day and keep you guessing if I'll ever be back.

Thank you so much for your support and for joining me on this narilamb adventure, it was truly an unforgettable experience.

Let this blog be my treasured archive, to which I may — or may not — add some more posts to from time to time, if I get the urge to draw the scrunklies.

his design animal was supposed to be the unicorn, but then i remember that is literally satan's signature animal... So I made him an alicorn bc i ain't backing up

kinda funny, I think simeons design animal being an alicorn and similar to satan is a nod to their similarities.. Interestingly, alicorns have wings, which are from birds. and guess who's signature animal is a bird? lucifer. hope that says enough

anyway, I ain't rambling about the symbolism here and now bc I need to sleep before 5 bc there's a meeting in 8. and I just realised I'm off meds for a week now so i guess that explains my sudden burst of inspo ijbol!!!!!!!!!!

my autistic ass when i would try to explain to my non-autistic writer friends how my ocs don’t just feel like characters/plot devices/narrative tools, they feel like fully fledged people that just live inside my brain who i just have access to for some reason and the stories i write are merely a snapshot into their fully fledged personhood/lives. and that that these feelings don’t mean i’m unaware of my role/agency/responsibility as the writer who has the final say in these characters and how they are written it just means that my writing process feels very intuitive and i can only describe it as “listening” and “getting to know” these people that just live inside my brain in a way that i don’t feel like i can completely elaborate on. and because of this i would actually consider these characters “real” in their own way because the impact and influence they have had on me as a person beyond just my writing is so real and not having them would feel like i’m missing a part of myself

god, it’s been hard. I know it has. it has hurt like hell and some days have felt like you’re pulling yourself through one second after another by your broken fingernails in the dirt. you’re tired. it’s a bone-deep kind of tired that settles in somewhere behind your ribcage and makes breathing feel like dying half the time and it never really seems to go away. but you’re still here. you’re beaten and bruised but you’re still kickin’, trudging one foot in front of the other no matter how heavy those footsteps are. you decided at some point that, goddamn it, if this is rock bottom then things can only get better from here, and you decided to see better for yourself.

and so you’ve been clinging onto yourself for dear life and it’s been the hardest thing you’ve ever done but you are one tough motherfucker and you’ve done it. and god, I’m glad you did. I’m so glad- you’re here. I know sometimes it feels like no one appreciates how hard it is to just be here, but I do. I know. and it is absolutely amazing how far you’ve come and I’m so grateful you’ve made it. you are so important and your life is so beautiful and it would be such a shame for you to miss it. so keep on pulling forward. I promise it’s worth it.

finally have time to work on Kohana properly and figured I’d show her initial design along with Nanami’s while i work on it ^_^

Initially, Nanami had freckles and her bangs were parted to her right, that and her hair was meant to be wavy-ish. I dont remember why i decided to forego the freckles but i’ll probably return them at some point (maybe only coming out during the summer or something)

Now for Kohana, this would be the first proper glimpse I’ve posted of her (the top of her head was posted many posts ago and she had a hand reveal as well haha). As of now, her final design isn’t that far off from her initial one, if anything, im playing around with the shade of her hair and how her bangs and braid should be styled.

As for Mizuki, if you’re wondering why she doesnt have one that’s because her initial design is her final one, minus the fact that initially she had white hair instead of black. I was all in with her being mistaken to being related with Azuma despite being Azami’s cousin but the longer i stared at her having white hair i was like “no, doesnt feel right” and decided to change it to black to match with Azami. I was pretty torn about that too tbh cause I know that even if they’re cousins they dont really have to look alike (which is why i gave them the same eye color to atleast show relation) but yeah, I decided to change it to black and haven’t really regretted it yet

🐞 (ladybug) - What does a perfect day look like for your oc? What do they do? Who do they see?

There's a stark difference between what Elise would consider a good realistic day vs a perfect day. An achievable good day would consist of beginning her butchering duties at 5:30 sharp (ha), completing breakfast with no mistakes to the head chef's orders, followed by lunch prep and cleaning, punctuated by a small break in the afternoon which, if this is a good day, Elise will avoid the dimisisters antics entirely! She's learned how to evade them fairly well over time but they do still corner her from time to time, and when they do that can often spell death for some poor other maid. But back to the ideal, after dinner serving and clean up, there's a fair chance Elise will be called to the Lady's chambers for a vitality check, otherwise known as a hunger test to see if Elise is consuming enough blood to sustain herself (her least favorite activity). If by some miracle she is deemed healthy, Lady Dimitrescu will send her off with a wave, or... on rarer occasions, she'll put Elise to a different kinda of work with her "gift".

Elise's true perfect day? Sleep. Pure, uninterrupted, nightmare-free sleep 🥹

*the sound of someone clearing their throat*

“My name is Zenith Xerik Ylvina. I am sixteen years old. And I am attempting to create a cloning machine. I’ve decided to start audio logging my discoveries. So far, I have done two trials on this machine. The first trial was with the leaf of a palm tree, which was a success. This led me to attempt to clone a small ferret.”

*there’s a pause that lasts for several seconds*

“It was unsuccessful. The ferret died due to heart complications caused by the beams of the machine.”

*the sound of shuffling papers is heard*

“I decided to go back to square one and continue testing on plants, until I discovered something. The leaf I had cloned successfully had six ants on it. Those ants were successfully cloned as well. So my machine has been proven to work on plants and small insects.”

*there’s backround noise that sounds like someone falling outside*

“Ignore that. That’s probably Abbas. Anyways… I will continue testing and improving my machine. When I have made any sort of discovery, I will record another audio log. Farewell.”
