Perfect timing, Genoa had just stepped away. His stride is slow, coming to a halt next to his brother on the balcony overlooking the ballroom. “You’ve got the Gatsby gaze going on.” All in good nature, he teases, leaning against the balustrade. “It’s about the hour where ditching doesn’t come across as rude. What do you say?”

 It seems like the past year or so in New York City has been nothing but disaster after disaster, and the crazy disaster of this week has been all about the invasion of some other world versions of our beloved New York City citizens. Things still seem to be rather unclear between the two groups, and this uncertainty seems to be breeding nothing but tension. Thus, a number of the supernaturals that have stayed the same have decided to hold a meeting. None of them will admit that the eventual plan is to send the others back to where they came from to bring their loved ones back, but for now they’re just trying to meet and find some common ground so that the AU supernaturals don’t cause anymore drama than they already have in our world.

Nobody’s quite sure what to expect from this meeting, but it’s the least that they can do to try and get some order in the city before their plan goes through. For all they know, nobody will show up, but they’re at least hopeful enough that some good will come out of it that they’re putting out the effort to hold the meeting. Whether it’s to answer questions, or to just try and explain what this version of New York is like (and what expectations come with living here), there is definitely hope that this meeting will bring forth some positive changes--even if they are only minor.

Like with the usual council meetings, the meeting itself is going to be held in a warehouse in Brooklyn that is large enough to accommodate all if a crowd actually ends up attending. It has not been advertised to the human world, but humans that know about the supernatural would obviously hear about it from their supernatural counterparts.

The Council Meeting will be beginning tomorrow. This event will be held from Friday, January 13th at 12PM PST, until Tuesday, January 17th at 11:59PM PST. Although people are technically not required to attend the meeting, since it is set up to try and create a bridge of communication between the regular citizens and the supernaturals from the other world, it is expected that a majority of people will be curious and want to attend. Feel free to work on finishing any older threads that you might still have going on, and don’t worry about any full moon threads since the full moon and this event are happening so close together. We can’t wit to see you at the meeting!

NATALIA DE MARQUIS in ALEXANDER MCQUEEN for the ceremony in stockholm, and in RALPH & RUSSO and the LOVER’S KNOT TIARA for the reception in edinburgh.

In Stockholm, we see Natalia de Marquis in a burgundy Alexander McQueen dress, designed by Sarah Burton. (Accompanied with this Philip Treacy fascinator.) On her neck is a striking diamond and ruby choker, a piece that has never been seen before, or is perhaps a part of a private collection. Her look is reminiscent of an old-Hollywood starlet, simple and polished waves framing her face and a subtle smokey eye to bring out her eyes. It is said that Burton and her team had looked to England’s north when designing this collection. The collection “combined a collage of contrasting regional elements into an innovative and harmonious whole.” While not clear, perhaps Natalia has intended to make a nod at the crisis in the north of England.

In Edinburgh, we see Natalia don a one-shoulder, sweeping pink and red evening gown, with ruching at the waist, designed by London-based haute couture house, Ralph & Russo. More importantly, we see her in the Lover’s Knot Tiara, styled with a updo with loose tendrils of hair to frame her face. According to the Court Jeweler, when Queen Mary commissioned the piece in 1914, she "sacrificed a tiara from her own jewelry collection, the Ladies of England Tiara, to make it." Her necklace and earrings come from the “The Parure Of Diamonds And Pearls” jewelry set: the set dates back to 1863, when the future King Edward VII had it made as a wedding gift for his future wife.

Natalia’s choice of designers should be duly noted: they are English based designers and fashion houses. It is seemingly a priority of hers to properly represent England in this time of political turmoil.
