Knightley let out a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding, surprised that he actually felt relieved. "If that ends up changing I won't hold it against you," he said. Slowly nodding, "That's more than reasonable, she won't tell anyone without your permission," he added. "I'm sorry as well, for not telling you why we left. I should've, and the offer still stands if you ever need to get away from there for a night or more."
kirby sighed and nodded about to say something when knightleys words made them pause, blinking a few times. "i.." damn they really did do that didn't they? it took a moment for them to answer, stretching out their legs and put their hands in their lap as they stared at the ground. "no." they finally answered shaking their head. "i'm sorry by the way.." kirby didn't want to be avoidant with their best friend or any of their friends really but especially him. "you can tell zarina just.. please don't tell anyone else? is that at least a reasonable ask?" they said finally looking up at him.

10 AM — SEPTEMBER 1, 2022 fall semester school assembly @ the auditorium
at the semestral assembly, both school dean and student council president speak gently of son jisoo's death. after a brief remembrance and a call for cooperation in the ongoing investigations, the program proceeds. freshmen are welcomed with fanfare and short performances. recognition is awarded to outstanding students across different departments. and finally, the red and green club are called onto the stage—presented as the cream of the crop, the best of the best, shining paragons of talent for all to aspire to.
while they stand on stage, the dean announces the school of visual arts' annual fall exhibit—a highly anticipated, week-long gallery show held at the geumjanhwa gallery every fifteenth of september. a pre-cursor to the mugunghwa arts festival held at the end of fall. every year, students hope and pray for an exhibition space on the floor of the first day.
cheers and groans fill the auditorium as the dean gives each member of the red and green club an exhibition space for the first day. the club, as a whole, receives another day-one exhibition space for a commemorative piece about jisoo. recipients of the remaining four spots are announced before the program concludes.
event specific info . the exhibit takes place on september 15-19. while the exhibit is ongoing, fairs and booths are set up across the campus by students from all departments. some advertise clubs and programs, while others sell goods and services. you can write about your character manning or visiting these booths. the campus is alive with students practicing for the exhibit. if you would like your character to present at the fall exhibit, message the main blog with the day you would like them to present. there are twelve vacant exhibition spaces each day. students can present a maximum of three days. ic, these exhibits are vetted by teachers. the exhibit is an annual event and joining yields significant grade incentives (even instant A’s), so its likely that visual arts students have been preparing for it as early as last year (of course, there will always be procrastinators). non-visual arts students can present on the last day. day one . son jiyeon, jung miyoung, nam minjun, kim mina, liu mingze, anikka ‘nika’ chaiyon, song siyeon, the red and green club, vacant, vacant, vacant, vacant day two . day three . day four . day five . han junjae/lee muyeol
this is optional. feel free to write about your character’s exhibit. what are they presenting? what media are they using? what do most people think of it? you can also post pictures, edits, playlists or any media you prefer. you can also write about the process they went through to get to the exhibit, either in threads or solos. was their initial work rejected for presentation, or was it smooth sailing all the way? where did they get their inspiration?
check on your art major friends! they probably won’t be sleeping for the first two weeks of the semester.
ooc info . plot drops, covering specific scenarios and involving specific characters, will be posted at random times. a plot drop about the exhibit will be posted later on. tag event-related posts with #mguacti. it’s possible i missed some details, so if you have any questions just ask!

BLACKOUT IN THE RED ROOM
But, I think we have to look at Ilan Manouach's Katz first.
Art Spiegelman's autobiographical comic Maus, a narration of the sufferings Spiegelman's Jewish family had to endure by Nazi Germany in the course of World War II, appears also to be a work known far beyond the medium's borders – and such without ever facing a cinematic adaption.
Moreover was it awarded with a Pulitzer prize, thus making Spiegelman the first cartoonist to receive this kind of honor. Like a duck takes to water, it became part of a canon of values and thereby a target for other artists. On the other hand, apparently the treated subjects presented in Maus, to be read as Judenhass here, make any attack seem extremely tasteless in no time.
Ilan Manouach, being descended of a Greek-Jewish family and taking offense at the attribution of various species of animals to several ethnicities, replaced every animal head with those of cats, and made the otherwise completely unchanged work public by giving it out in Angoulême during Spiegelman's presidency of the comics festival's jury ten years ago.
This subversion of artistry including subsequent action for an injunction may be debatable, but, and out of the purest kind of love, provoking an argument on reinforcing stereotypes was the artistic intention here. A modus operandi which simply makes it art responding to art.
Which the Jim Rugg drawn “parody” cover of Maus for the third and recently pulled back issue of Ed Piskor's torture porn series Red Room is not. With an almost exactly copied typographic concept taken from the first of two books collecting the Maus episodes pre-published in Spiegelman's magazine Raw, it's showing two people awaiting to get tortured in front of a camera for viewer's entertainment and payments.
That's Red Room's single and only plot point, though pretty okay with me, if you're into stuff like that. I too think it hasn't that much to add to the oh-not-so-contemporary-at-all discourse in “violence induced by consuming media and the somber sides of the abyss called internet, connecting people of all perversions capable” - it's just entertaining trash and probably finds fulfillment in that.
BUT, the original cover of Maus stages two mice, which have to be read as Jewish people in the context of Spiegelman's iconography, awaiting the murderous Holocaust. At least the Liefeld cover placed at the beginning of this piece, and I'm pretty sure it's not by Liefeld himself, but a fan photoshopped mash-up, is of an empowering and not degrading character as the one Rugg did for Piskor's series. That the latter got greenlit by Fantagraphics, doesn't make their editorial processes looking good, while having the fight for acceptance of a medium being viewed as childish written on their banner.
Well, after the seemingly in-priced online outrage, Jim Rugg was the only one to drop a convincing excuse. To my knowledge - and I’d love to stand corrected - Piskor did not comment on this emphatic disaster thus continuing to ignore the suffering of people that were murdered in an incomparable manslaughter the world had never seen before and since because of its perfidious singularity showing in an elaborate system of extermination. And, in the light of recent events, it clearly doesn't help to defend Maus against those who have an interest in banning it.
So this might just be a rather thoughtless and dumb joke from people growing up in an environment of Nazis being the villains in countless and trashy incarnations on TV and in comic books, and yes, there was a genre named “Stalag fiction” (Stalag = German abbreviation for 'Straflager', meaning 'dentention camp'), which is dedicated to give in to sexually connoted fantasies happening in concentration camps with abusers, but those were created by Jews, and they had every fucking right in the world to do so. But in the aftermath of the infuriating critique massively brought up, making use of your brain would have been a sexy thing, too.
Because, no matter the amount of blood you're splattering around during desperately trying to walk the edge, in the end it's always turning brown while drying out.

Ward kisses them back, his own smile tugging at his lips when they pulled back. He brought his hand up to brush against the side of Kirby's head, running his fingers through his hair, "He's annoyingly smart," he mumbled as he thought it over. Letting out his own sigh as his shoulders slumped a bit, "Think we can both probably work on that, tend not to tell people if something they do bugs me. Not you, mean can talk to you about stuff and Olivia too...but feels like that's it." He had a small grin when they rolled their eyes, "So you guys got into it? Everything ok now or...?"
kirby smiled a little at ward and leaned in to kiss him softly. "doesn't need to be your strong suit, i love you for you so no real reason to change any of that." they did let out a sigh though, he was trying to make them feel better but words kept ringing in the back of their head. "it's easier but i don't know.... knightley pointed out that when i get into it with someone especially a friend i shut them out and ignore them. i don't want to do that anymore... it's not fair to you guys." they did crack a smile at being called cute though, rolling their eyes playfully at him.

[ARTICLE] BC, DIMENSIONS, AND GOLD STAR ANNOUNCED AS SPONSORS OF SEOUL SPRING FESTIVAL
The Seoul Spring Festival was announced earlier in the year by the local government as a city-wide event taking place from March 30th to April 5th. The city of Seoul will be hosting a number of events over the course of the week, as will private businesses.
Recently, it was announced that entertainment companies BC Entertainment, Dimensions Entertainment, and Gold Star Media will all be sponsoring the festival in part and the idols on each company’s roster will be performing at one of two concerts hosted during the run of the festival. Tickets to the live concert events will cost ₩30000 each and fans unable to attend the live event can access an official live stream of both concerts for ₩15000.
ADMIN NOTES:
The time has come for our next drop event! In something of a spiritual successor to our 2018 Busan Summer Festival event, this is a week-long event in-’verse with several different varied opportunities for interactions.
Everyone under the three companies will be required to participate in their respective concert part of the festival barring extenuating circumstances such as major injury or illness. It must be cleared with the admin if you want your muse to have a plot that will keep them from participating in that portion of this event. Public activities for the event as well as the Pink Party are entirely optional both in and out of character, while the other private and semi-private activities (the cocktail party, the art exhibition, and the charity gala) will be considered optional out of character, but you’re welcome to say your muse was forced to attend by management in-character for the sake of interactions.
Activities marked “semi-private” will be open to only a select guest list, not the public, but some press may be present. Activities marked “private” will be open to a very select guest list and no press will be present.
EVENT DETAILS:
The Seoul Spring Festival takes place in-universe from March 30th to April 5th.
A number of events will take place in Seoul over the span of the week, from fun public events designed to heighten everyone’s spirits to exclusive, private events only the country’s most in-demand citizens such as celebrities and the wealthy have access to. As sponsors of the event, all three companies have allowed their idols some leeway in their schedules to participate in the festival even in their down time.
Muses will have a variety of required schedules throughout the week, but in their downtime, they’re also allowed to spend some time at the festival on their own as long as they follow the normal rules of staying on their best behavior in public. Any music shows taking place on the days of the festival can be assumed to either not interfere with what can be done that day or will be pre-recorded at a more convenient in the morning.
Outside of scheduled events, during the week of the festival, there will be sales at local shops and restaurants and smaller, special spring-themed events at cafes and parks.
The beginning and end of the festival will each be marked with a concert, for which each performer will be dressed in colors and cuts to suit the spring season. The concert set lists and styling can be found HERE.
CHOICE ACTIVITIES:
There are open events on the schedule listed below open to individual muses. This Google Form has been set up for muns to submit for the activity of their choice. At the time of posting, this will be open to one muse per mun only. All spots will be first come-first served from the time the event post goes up since choice activities will not have major career effects.
Keep in mind that canonically, companies would have final say in where their idols are scheduled, so you can request activities that your muse wouldn’t enjoy doing! These are completely optional, but can give you situations to write solos or threads about.
OVERALL:
In game, this event takes place Monday, March 30, to Sunday, April 5, but threads and other posts for this event may be started from Monday, March 23, at the time this post goes up, to Sunday, April 19, at 11:59PM EDT. Threads may be continued past the end date if needed, but must be started before then. Non-event related interactions may of course be conducted during this time as well.

"See that's why I like having you around, keep things nice and simple." As Howl spoke he slapped his hand on Aaron's back before squeezing his shoulder as he dropped his hand back to the bar. He took a long drink, "About the only good thing about this town, free booze and food," he mused out loud. For a split second letting his gaze wander over the various women at the ball. "You're from here right? Town always been this love thy neighbor bull? Feel like half the folks here too friendly to be real."
aaron took the beer from howl and shook his head. "i was gonna say you'd ditch me no questions asked, can't give me shit when you'd do the same." he chuckled and sipped at his beer now, resting it on the bar with his hand wrapped around the glass. "i'm game for however many rounds you wanna go, it's free, gonna take advantage of that."

Darksiders II: Deathinitive Edition
Is this game beloved? It is not, right? I mean, I really haven’t heard a ton of people saying that they love this game. Right? Well... I just played it and I gotta say, I really, reeeally like it. It is a solid game, the likes of which seems to me that should have some sort of cult following.
I played the first one way back when it first came out and have been meaning to play this one since it was released. Then the remaster came out and I still skipped it, until now. The game is nothing groundbreaking. Nothing is about it is super unique or revolutionary. And it even has some refinement problems like a few wild bugs and some less than ideal camera work. And still, I had such a great time playing through it, exploring the world, fighting enemies, etc.
Yeah, this is a pretty good game. As I said, nothing groundbreaking, just an honest, solid, fun game that I enjoyed a bunch.
What is it?
So anyway, what is this game about? The best way that I would describe Darksiders II is by saying that it’s a mix of several good things. This is an 3D action adventure game with RPG elements. The combat is just like pre-2018 God of War. It’s got a world structure just like the pre-Breath of The Wild Zelda series. Also like Zelda, it’s got dungeons with puzzles and traps and enemies and the like. Traversal feels like Prince of Persia mixed with Uncharted most of the time. It’s got a progression system based on your character leveling up as he fights and gains experience, like any RPG. And, finally a loot system akin to the ones found in games like Diablo.
Darksiders II takes all these well established gameplay elements and merges them together into a cohesive package that, after summing up all of its individual parts, comes out being something great. In a sense, you could say that this combination is the very thing that makes Darksiders II unique: an expertly executed mix of these specific genres. That could maybe be a little bit of a stretch though, but really, that’s neither here nor there. I don’t subscribe to the belief that a game needs to be unique or have a twist to be truly great and enjoyable. To me, Darksiders II is a validation to that sentiment. This is just a fun game.
The combat
Darksiders II is made up of many parts. All of which I think are well implemented enough. The combat, while not being nearly as deep as something like what the genre defining games like Bayonetta or Devil May Cry have, still feels good and fun. It’s also nuanced enough to keep it from being a mindless button mashing festival. It’s your classic God of War-esque affair of two attack buttons (light and heavy attacks) and a jump button that, when pressed successively in different orders, can produce a variety of combos. That, along with some special items, attacks and buff skills sprinkled in, make the whole combat competent enough.
The level design
The level design of both the over-worlds and the many dungeons are intricate enough so that exploration feels rewarding. The puzzles are a mixed bag that go from just-ok to pretty good. These brainteasers are a good way to take a break from hacking and slashing, slowing things down for a while a bit. Save for a very few instances, they never overstay their welcome.
The loot
Tying back to the rewarding exploration idea that I mentioned earlier is the loot system. Your character can equip multiple pieces of armor and main and secondary weapons. The game world is littered with treasure chests both hidden and in plain sight that contain such items in varying rarity levels, along with healing potions and good old money, which can be used in shops throughout the adventure.
The traversal
Traversal though these these worlds also feels very good. There’s a combination of climbing, wall-running, swinging, wall-jumping and more, that make you feel like a very capable acrobat.
The presentation
All these aspects are well executed in Darksiders II and make for a pretty good game. Where I think it excels though, and is what propels it to the next level, is in the overall presentation. This game looks gorgeous. And make no mistake, this is no technical marvel, but the art direction is so on point that I couldn’t help but stare at times at the architecture, vistas, and the design of weapons and armor which are made with so much intricate detail.
All of this looks so cool.
That said, what takes the cake in the presentation department is the character designs. I feel like all the characters, including the player, NPCs and enemies got a ton of work put into their designs as well as in their realization within the game world. Everyone looks great, from the goat person that sells you weapons to the king of the undead that at some point has you running errands for him. Everyone is so unique, interesting, fun and just... cool. So cool. The voice acting is also great, backed by some excellent writing. Particularly Death, the player controlled character, has some great lines and great deliveries. I’m no writing expert but I found the way people speak in this game so appealing. The words they use, their accents, their voices, everything works together to really sell the high fantasy setting. And nothing feels weird or out of place.
I mean... Look at this guy.
As far as the plot goes, it’s not the most intricate tale in the world. But I feel like it is well executed. In this game you play a Death, one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse, who, after learning about his brother’s wrongful imprisonment, embarks on a quest to redeem him by bringing back humanity from extinction. The story is pretty simple but there are several events that transpire and characters that you interact with during the journey that manage to keep things interesting. That, combined with some good acting and writing, makes the whole thing pretty effective.
Not everything is rosy though, I have two complaints related to game refinement:
1. Bugs. I encountered a couple of weird bugs. Nothing game breaking thankfully. There was a time when the physics engine went haywire and threw me into the sky when I was actually supposed to drop down. Died and had to restart from the latest checkpoint. No biggie, just a minor annoyance. Another issue that happened to me sometimes was that almost everything would go silent and I had to restart the game. I’m talking about most sound effects and background music, gone. Super weird.
2. The camera. The camerawork, overall, leaves a lot to be desired. I feel like the camera could’ve been used much more effectively to highlight some key moments in traversal (like some tricky jumps or swings) and in combat. Which is a shame too, because this game’s animations are so cool and well done. It would’ve been great to be able to enjoy them with a camera that actually made sure we saw them in all their splendor. And this is just camera placement, not bugs with the system per se. I feel like many times the camera was too close to the character or not having the action front and center. A missed opportunity there for sure, but overall it didn’t hamper my enjoyment of the game too much.
Death is a pretty cool guy
So yeah, that’s my opinion on Darksiders II. In case you couldn’t figure it out, I really enjoyed this game. It is, as I said, nothing groundbreaking as it takes heavy inspiration from other industry heavy-hitters like Zelda and God of War, but it’s still, nevertheless, a super fun time. Would definitely recommend to any and all action adventure fans out there. Looking forward to getting around to playing the sequel soon.

Despite everything that had happened that day, Mo laughed and shook his head. "Fucking hell, with my luck I'll get something lame like being able to understand bugs." Glancing at his arm he grimaced and shrugged, "Stings, like the antiseptic shit we use at the nursing home." They had searched around coming back with a bowl of water and a rag to start wiping down Eagan's arms, "Starting to think we should just stay home."
Not having been in a jacket Eagan's arms were peppered with red marks from where the water had landed and stung as well as some spots on the back of her neck and hands. "I'll probably turn faster than you or maybe we're about to get our mutant powers or whatever. "Don't worry about me" Eagan shook their head. "Did it get you anywhere else?" she asked, gesturing with her head towards his arm.

[ARTICLE] IDOLS PREPARING FOR FIRST ANNUAL BUSAN SUMMER FESTIVAL
In conjunction with BC Entertainment, Dimensions Entertainment, Gold Star Media, and SBS, the city of Busan has announced the first annual Busan Summer Festival, taking place from July 9th to July 13th. A number of local events will occur over the span of the festival, but the main attraction will be the entertainment, bringing top celebrities to the city over the course of the week.
The main events of the festival will be a series of three concerts bringing together top idols and artists for three fun summer Night On The Beach concerts featuring some of the hottest hits of the past decade, but fans can also meet these idols throughout the week, as they’ll be hosting festivities and giving back to the Busan community.
The three companies and SBS have released a joint statement saying that through this festival, they hope to celebrate the lively and bustling community of Busan and all the idols have expressed excitement for the festival.
All three of the festival concerts will be filmed and aired on SBS later in the summer.
ADMIN NOTES:
The time has come for our next drop event! Everyone under the three companies will be required to participate in their respective concert part of the festival barring extenuating circumstances such as major injury or illness. It must be cleared with the admin if you want your muse to have a plot that will keep them from participating in this event.
EVENT DETAILS:
The Busan Summer Festival takes place in-universe from July 9th to July 13th. Please be aware that I’ve moved this event forward from when I initially intended it to go up, so there have been slight changes in the schedules of Knight, Alien, Impulse, and Gold Star Soloist 3, all of whom have just had concerts pushed back a couple of days. This is only an OOC change, and in-universe, this will have always been scheduled that way.
There are two parts to the festival that may be used for interactions: work time and free time. For the festival, idols will travel back and forth from Seoul to Busan with their manager every day they are scheduled. On days only individual members of groups are scheduled, only those members are required travel to Busan, but others may come to explore the festival as a guests. Any promotional activities taking place on the days of the festival will be scheduled before traveling or pre-recorded on another day. All idols may visit the festival as a guest when they’re not working.
Outside of the idol’s scheduled work, the festival will also have food, shopping, local performers, etc., and anything typical of a summer fair or festival.
For the concerts, all idols will perform in summer wear regardless of concept (boys in board shorts and t-shirts, girls in denim shorts and tank tops) to match the beach and summer themes of the concert. The concert set lists can be found HERE.
Idols are highly encouraged by their companies to promote the festival through social media, but should also be on their best behavior at all times, whether working or not. They’re still in public and are bound by their image maintenance agreements at all times as usual.
CHOICE ACTIVITIES:
There are open events on the schedule listed below open to individual muses. This Google Form has been set up for you to submit up to two activities of your choice for each of your muses to have them scheduled in those spots. All spots will be first come-first served. More spots will be added if necessary, or more choice activities will be permitted per muse if necessary to fill the majority of the slots. Keep in mind that canonically, companies would have final say in where their idols are scheduled, so you can request activities that your muse wouldn’t enjoy doing! These are completely optional, but participating in these choice activities will give you more opportunities for points!
OVERALL:
In game, this event takes place Monday, July 9, to Friday, July 13, but threads and other posts for this event may be started from Sunday, July 1, at the time this post goes up, to Saturday, July 21, at 11:59PM EDT. Threads may be continued past the end date, but must be started before then. Non-event related interactions may of course be conducted during this time as well.
NOTE: All posts related to the event should be tagged #fmdbusanfest.

TT15 - Medieval
33 pictures and 8 fanfics
Older Times, Older Ways by PseudoFox
Josiah's got a task given to him by his elder-- and a dagger to keep him safe along the trip. He'll need it, too: his father befell a terrible fate along these very roads! But does an even worse fate lurk in the shadows of cave? Or is this all a chance meeting in the dark? Can we get a tier list for ne'er-do-wells in how unsympathetic they are?

An ode to knot
The ewe was beat, the final fight was fought, And lo, the bun and fox did win the day, Then after hero’s welcome and parade, The time had come for bun to take the knot. How strange this turgid bulb that she now sought, How sweet the whispered promise of this lay, To take it all, if well indeed she may, And to that lewdest precipice be brought. This junction at which fox and bun be join’d, To share with pred in musk and tooth and claw, Then for a moment, stay together locked. The basest of their instincts thus enjoin’d, The heroes, spent, content with what they saw: A blessed union never to be cucked.

The Lion’s Share by Writeyote
Hello! It's Writeyote here, with a medieval TT submission! With all this talk of knights in shinning armor, it makes you wonder. How did the peasants live? The feudal society of medieval Zootopia was one of the pyramid, with king above nobles, above knights, above burghers and so forth. At the very bottom of this ladder were the peasant. They were bound to their land, and knew nothing, but the labor of pre-industrial servitude. They owned little, and the land they did farm was administered by the knights. Who were granted titles by nobles, in return for loyalty.
This is were the fourth-field system came into play. The arable land was divided among fourths to the peasantry. Two of these fourths would go to the "greater beasts", be they elephant or buffalo. They would eat well and be provided with rights that the "lesser beasts" would not. The right to join the military as a paid soldier, and to trade goods.
This was because in times of early middle ages, there was massive instability, both external and internal. Barons would revolt, and wars were declared constantly. One needed a standing army of capable mammals to retain authority. So these greater beasts were held higher among the peasant masses, so they would retain loyalty to the rightful king.
At this point you must be wondering about the smaller mammals! You'd be in luck, as the third quarter of these lands were given to the "lesser beasts". These ranged from deer to sheep, and smaller predators such as badgers and foxes. The fields were not proportional to their needs. Many times they would fall to famine much before their greater brethren.
They were much more strictly bound to the land and were forbidden from paid service in the military. If the medieval imagery of dirty peasants comes to mind, these would be your candidates. Life was short and hard and one would be lucky to live past fifty. In many cases the predator sections of these populations, were treated even worse and lived as serfs to their fellow serfs.
Bellow even the lesser beasts, were the viles. The rodents and other small mass reproducing species. They were given the worst section of four quarters and rarely could feed their entire families. Many were reported to live solely on grass and leaves of the trees. It was said they were kept on the land, only for when the barons needed cheap labor in building their projects.
But as times changed the system seemed less and less important. Duchies were replaced by more stable longer term countries, and changes in technology needed less of the greater beasts. Soon, many in the fields were left to wonder why they were given such pitiful lands. Then these thoughts turned to revolts and anger, and many of the great beasts took the blame for the inequality. To this day elephants have a reduced population compared to many other species of their size.
Over time situations did change though. Many say it was gunpowder that finalized these changes. For if a charging knight and his greater beasts could efficiently be brought down by cheaper guns, why bother having them at all? So soon the lesser beasts were given more and more. Following quickly after, the four fields were abolished entirely in many areas. As the rulers chose more efficient systems, many times with higher taxes. The few places were it remained are now well known for the bloody revolts. Think of the years of guillotines or great Bearusscan revolution. And we all know who those turned out.
So next time you think of those stupid dirt peasants. Perhaps you'll see them in a brand new light!
"The Cowards Battle" by High Cow art also by High Cow 997 years ago, in the small village of Wellsbunny, located in the Tri-burrow Area, the hatred between rabbits and foxes was painted with blood and remembered as "The Cowards Battle" or "The Naked Battle" as mammals involved prefer to say. It's one the few pred/prey battles recorded in history, since wars always involved preds and preys on each side. The death of 23 bunnies by the hands of a fox was the peak, and the town (populated mainly by rabbits), decided to exile the foxes to the forest, with death penalty if they refused. After five years of living in the forest, eating bugs and embracing naturalism, the foxes decided to hunt the habitants of Wellsbunny, and started a fire that spreaded trough the entire village. Most preys died that night, and only a group of 3000 bunnies would hide in the woods, most of them elders and females. They only gathered some food and weapons before the fire burned the village. This group of bunnies, knowing that foxes were hunting them for two days now, decided to set the forest on fire and retreat to the village. Fear spreaded in each mammal that morning. Everyone tried to escape from hell, and when they reached the ashes of the village, there was no fear left in both sides, in fact, there was nothing left (not even clothes), but anger and hatred. It's uncertain who won that day. The clues suggest the victorious group went into the remains of the forest, and then disappeared, leaving no trails.
Fury of the Northmammals by Labjer
A heroic feat of strength and endurance that is appreciated by no one important, and not significant to overshadow 100+ siblings doing more moderate tasks.
“Life for a rabbit in the 10th century was a hard and dangerous life in comparison to modern Zootopia. Without labor saving devices, or warm climates for principle beasts of burden, much labor had to be done by hand.”
10th century anglo-saxbun Sarah returns from a hidden garden with a basket laden with turnips and other root vegtables.
“Where villages could not afford to hire larger mammals to plow, or carry good to market, determination and perseverance will have to make do. Leg strength and strong backs were highly prized among rabbit farming communities, as some fertile plots of land could be a fair hike from the burrows themselves.”
Sarah of clan Hopps, a 10th century anglo-saxbun, stops for a rest and a lunch of turnips, carrot slices, and bread before continuing to the burrow.
“For a rabbit on a hike between communities, or making a long trip with produce, portable foods were of great importance. Turnips and radishes were a favorite, along with breads and some hardy cheeses. For wealthy, or orchard tending rabbits, apples were of great value as a treat. Every rabbit farmer would carry a lunch with them when out foraging or checking on hidden gardens, particularly if going alone.”
In a rare bit of providence, Sarah of Clan Hopps discovers a Viking raiding party before they make landfall.
“Around the 10th century, the world was deep into what would later be called the Viking Age. Fearsome raiders from the north, armed with spear and shield, sword and axe, would storm undefended communities for plunder, meat., fur, and thralls. Striking with unheard of violence and lightning speed along what were thought to be un-sailable routes, it was rare that any alarm could be raised in defense of a outlying community. Anglo-Saxbun communities would often be raided as a prelude to more wealthy targets such as Elksh villages. But sometimes, the Wolfmen of the North did not always arrive totally without warning.”
A rabbit can be blisteringly fast in a panic, and given their small size they an run down nearly invisibly small paths in order to bring warnings to a community.
“Early warnings for a raid were painfully rare in medieval times. raiders could strike anywhere along the rivers, and with such a speed that organization would be almost impossible, particularly with small or fearful mammals. Luckily, in this case, warning is raised mere minutes before the vikings land their long ships.”
The burrow in a 10th century anglo-saxbun village was a large communal building for storage, the village leaders, and child raising, while the outlying village was for the farming families.
“In the event of an emergency, all rabbits who could would run to the burrows, to hide in the larders. Those that were in the fields would need to drop tools and come running at full speed. Being mostly underground, the burrow itself was mostly safe, while the outlying village and church would be another story, and would almost certainly be put to the torch.”
With speed being of the utmost importance, a viking longship would have its warriors disembark the moment it touched the shore, running right onto the sandbar.
“A landing from a viking ship would be quick, decisive, and fierce. Often the wolves would howl both for intimidation and coordination just upon landing. Soon, the shores would be filled with raiders surging forward into the undefended community, eager for plunder and blood.”
Sarah desperately arms herself before the wolves are upon the village. Childless, and a widow, she is the only member of her household to be able to take up arms.
“The yeobun was a particular social class of rabbit in the Island Kingdom who were not in service to a master, but free men in exchange for military service. This service would be as scouts, foresters, and skirmishers on campaigns, but in a raid would be the first and only line of defense. Sword and shield and helmet were common, along with long war darts and dart throwers (similar to the llama atlatl) to make up for such a small stature.”
Vikings were effectively monsters towards the undefended towns they raided, often being more effective combatants by full magnitiudes.
“Though not the main cause, a viking raid would cause terror among the populace, with the wolves working to maximize that fear. Villagers such as rabbits were nearly helpless in the face of such cruelty, and as fire would engulf homes, blades would bite flesh, and valuables be stripped from corpses, it was as to the Christian rabbits as divine punishment for a sinful world.”
Two Anglo-Saxbuns are carted off by the Vikings, one as a thrall, and the other for meat and fur.
“Thralls were taken in raids, along with the corpses of the slain. Living rabbits could tend fields, care for livestock, and work as servants in wolf dens. Corpses were good for furs, along with meat. Pagan as they were, vikings were not taken to eating those that passed away from natural causes. Only the flesh of mammals who had died in battle were worthy of consumption, and raids would make great use of that.”
A hasty battle plan is formed to repulse the invaders, something that would not have been possible if not for the early warning.
“A defense of the burrow, when it could be managed, would come from surprise and at range. Rabbits typically did not have the stomach for fighting in closed ranks, nor the strength to go toe to tow with wolves. As such, flanking and lighting strikes from networks of hidden tunnels would be favored above all else.”
Rabbits prefer attacking from surprise whenever possible, and are liable to break ranks and flee unless defending their homes.
“The defenders of a rabbit village would be fighting for nothing less than survival. A raid might not destroy all life, but the fields set ablaze would certainly invite famine. Warriors would fight tooth and nail from their tunnels, hoping to drive the invaders back to the sea. Even then, rabbit morale is a tenuous thing, ready to snap at any moment.”
A furore Normannorum libera nos, Domine.
“Having taken what they could, and left before too many losses of their own could be taken (if any) the vikings would depart a gutted, burnt out town with ships filled with the living and the dead, and the riches of Chrisendom. Back to homes and families, the raiders would be in high spirits. But those left behind would have to face a greater, more subtle threat than raiders, the upcoming winter.” “And yet, This Too Shall Pass In Time.”

Fox held his hands up and laughed, "Excuse the hell out of me then, I'll be sure to only speak highly of him." He forced himself to keep his smile to a minimum and ignore the way his heart sped up at hearing the word date. Though it slipped as he listened to her, a frown forming as he was already shaking his head. "You will, you're like the smartest person I know, and I know two of Val's science buddies," he said giving her a small smile. Glancing down he slowly shrugged, "Come on even outside of Tricky and Addison, you're way too work focused. When's the last time you just focused on you and what makes you happy, instead of what you can do for someone else?"
"A very brave and thoughtful mouse," Leila corrected with a wide grin, turning to look at Fox with an expression that indicated she was far too pleased with herself for that retort. After letting out an amused laugh, her smile slowly shifted into one of genuine excitement before she glanced back at him and nodded. "Alright, deal. It's a date. A double-feature roasting session. You're right, it would be nice to see something with a happy ending." She chuckled softly, but something about saying those words got to her, a soft sigh leaving her lips shortly after. "I'm starting to feel like the odds of finding my own happy ending are... Not looking good. I mean, think about it. I spent almost twenty years thinking I knew exactly what would make me happy, and now I'm here, in my late thirties, slowly learning that I was wrong. Who knows if I'll ever get it right?"

Sora laughed, "Alright that I can accept, I'll let you borrow it tonight so you can get your flirt on." His grin shifted into a genuine smile, happy that Sutton had at least been able to find this through all the craziness they'd been through lately. "Think I can meet him or too early for that. You're also free to keep him to yourself if you want to just enjoy him by yourself for a little longer."
He let out a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding, tempted to bring up that he had a father figure before all this. A good one at that, but it was the one difference between them that he didn't like to voice. Mostly because it reminded him again of trying to navigate what Hawk was to him now while also dealing with the fact he might never see his dad again. "Thanks I needed the reminder," he admitted reaching over to pull her into a side hug before his face flushed red. "Uh...her names Georgie, she's a butcher and goes hunting. So pretty much if I fuck around I'm liable to end with an arrow in my ass."
sutton's gaze zeroed in on sora immediately, eyes narrowing as he put himself down again. they were both guilty of it, but that didn't mean either of them had to like it. "i am not smarter than you half the time; if anything, you and i just share the same freaking braincell and we let it bounce back and forth like that little green slime in flubber." she managed a small smile, one that turned into a look of worry after she'd let the word boyfriend fall from her lips. "he's just...different, sora. he's not like any of the boys i met back home, and i wish i could describe it better than i am right now, but i really like him. you know i wouldn't give my heart to him if i didn't trust him."
she was happy for the topic of conversation to shift from herself, attention on her best friend as she leaned against the bar. they'd both come to huntsville looking for the men that took part in their creation, and now that they'd both found what they were looking for, they had a lot of navigating to do. "i think you'll always be a griffon," sutton finally spoke, her eyebrows pulling together almost sadly. "just like i'll always be a hawthorne; we had two really wonderful mothers that raised us. it's hard to just forget about that because we suddenly have father figures in our lives." she shifted from one foot to the other, her head cocking to the side. "i'm sorry i wasn't there for you. but...tell me more about this girl. i need more information."

Mo nodded his head, "Know a couple folks there, foods pretty good too," they said, "Got a friend named Kirby if you ever want the fun tour, they're always down for shenanigans." Having gone with them more than once to play dodge rock. Reaching to the booth again he wrote down their address and number, letting her take it, "I know Eags is hard to track down sometimes, so here. Commune should have a phone you can use."
“I chose the commune. I’m used to group homes and after ten years completely alone . . . being around a lot of people is kinda nice,” Avery admitted, though it was also nerve wracking and overwhelming. She didn’t explain further than that, still not sure if she could trust them, even after learning how close he apparently was to Eagan. “I’ll think about the construction thing . . . thanks.” She backed up slightly, still holding the photo of Eagan to her chest. “I guess . . . I’ll see you around.”

"Yeah cousin," Sora repeated, Hawk had said he didn't have any issue with people knowing he mused. "My bio dad is Hawk Romero, which means got a whole family tree to learn now," he was half smiling if a little nervous. Still unsure overall how he felt about all of it, at the very least Hawk was being nothing but patient with him which he was grateful for. When she laughed he looked at her curiously before he was fully grinning, "You know I heard small towns were small, but," letting out a low whistle he shook his head, "Talk about small." His grin widened before he paused, taking a chance to twirl her before clearing his own throat. "So I know he's your best friend but...I don't need to be worried over him with her, right? She's already down bad for him and I like seeing her happy, after the last year she deserves that."
Georgie tried not to notice the way that Sora checked her out, or how cute he looked with his cheeks slightly flushed, or how it made her feel when he kept grinning at her like that. But she definitely did notice it. "Your cousin?" she asked curiously, dropping her gaze to his hand when he offered it. Taking it with a smile, she led him out onto the dance floor and started slowly swaying to the music, feeling suddenly very conscious of how her hand felt in his. "So," she said, looking up at him with a curious smile, a slightly nervous chuckle leaving her lips. "Turns out one of my best friends is dating your best friend. Guess that means we might be seeing more of each other." She paused before guiltily clearing her throat. "I would not be entirely against the idea."

"Do my best not to scare any away, or girlfriends, or in betweens," Neptune said shrugging. He really wasn't sure where she fell considering how much time they'd missed out on, he was mostly still going off of Karma. Grinning again he gave her a nod and held up the way too overstuffed shark, "What do you think?"
"I've never had a boyfriend for people to meet either." Poppy grinned, bouncing a little on her toes as she spoke and continued to instruct him on how to make the shark. A girlfriend was a different story. "I can definitely do that."
