hello and how are you, fellow Wanderers?
Honestly, we have way too many Works to even consider about, but we do tend to pick out five different Projects for every Monthly Challenge, so let's grab a generator, pick out a few, and share some things about them, yes?
A Knight's Honor
Intro Post | Writing Tag
Elizabeth Swallow has been guided in all things for her Life and her Status, the rules and restrictions of the Ladies-in-waiting giving her everything that she should focus on and what she should nip at the bud. It is all for the sake of the status of the Swallow Family, far too influential and entangled in the misadventures and misgivings of the Courts of the Earth and Flames. That is until she lays witness to a single moment that changes the Worlds for her mind and soul forever. Falling for the quiet nature and endless Knowledge of the Knight, she aims to give herself the freedom of following her heart in the matters of her own life, even if it ends up ruining more than just her standing in the eyes of the Courts and favor of the Ladies.
⊱ ─── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ─── ⊰
A Magician & A Curse
Intro Post | Writing Tag
Witches have haunted the Forests of Navamora for far longer than most of the Histories recorded within the Lands. Elios has known of the Witches before ever learning about the Beings of Humanity who have tried and failed to regain any sort of foothold in their Cursed home. Not even Humanity’s attempt at purging the Magicians does anything to help the growing Cursed Existences from rising from the grounds and destroying their World. It’s only when they meet a Magician, one of those who were cursed at birth to death, that they learn of things not even their beloved Guild is aware of. And they come face to face with the disgusting realities that engulf what it really means to hunt a Witch.
⊱ ─── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ─── ⊰
Cityscapes of Dragoons
Intro Post | Writing Tag
They say Icarus laughed as he fell. They never say what kind of laughter it was. Emily has known nothing of the Cityscapes, the giant abandoned relics of machinery and impossibility that float through the Skies, air horns screaming their paths for absolutely no one to hear anymore. The only things that come from them now are debris, death, and the deadly roars of the Fire Bellies, Dragons without Knowledge. The dead Cityscapes are only good for supply runs, attempts to salvage whatever essentials they can without evoking the wrath of the Beasts. It's a death wish wrapped in desperate hope, and Emily lives to serve, if only because it keeps her and her own alive. And then she lays witness to something that makes her wish she didn't have so much to gamble against; an Icarus, a child falling from one of the Cityscapes without his wings. Even worse, he was definitely laughing.
⊱ ─── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ─── ⊰
To Fall Without Angel Wings
Intro Post | Writing Tag
There are three things to know about freefalls.
One: it only occurs when you jump off the bridges of the Worlds, where the Realities collide for a single moment of delayed time and open space. Two: once you freefall, you are cursed for life. Everyone will know and everyone can tell. Three: no one ever thanked a Spirit. There are many things that Sebastian has allowed to fall through her fingertips, but none of them included the fate of her own body, mind, and soul. She knows exactly what she is getting into when she visits the Bridge of the Vagabonds but everything is turned on its head when her nonexistent prayer for a Salvation she never wanted is granted in the worst form she could have conjured.
⊱ ─── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ─── ⊰
To Sleight The Mind
Intro Post | Writing Tag
Tomfoolery was a gamble, plain and simple. But when the Game holds itself to only one winner and too many losers to hold any value, it ends up as more of a show for cowards. The Tents of Fantasia are nothing more than hunting grounds for the Ring Master and his Mind Magicks. They drag anyone with a lick of desire into the gambles, make sure to drive into their fears, leave them nothing but the luck of their own willpower. No one survives the Tomfoolery Gamble. Julia knows this, has laid witness to the Mind Magicks herself, has know what awaits the end of it all. And she knows a cheat when she sees it.
⊱ ─── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ─── ⊰

Etta's Guide to Writeblr (March 2023)
So you fled here from Twitter/TikTok... Where to start?
Welcome to Writeblr! Pull up a chair, open those documents, and pour yourself a cup of your favorite tea, coffee, or cocoa. The first thing you'll want to do is start following other writers. Check out this post for recommendations! Search through the notes to find hundreds more. Since I made that post, a bunch of people mentioned they're lurking and still trying to figure out tumblr, so I thought I'd make this post to help people get settled.
How to set up your blog
Make your blog name something not resembling a pornbot - it can be whatever you want, anything fun goes, just not [name###]. If you include "writer" or "author" somewhere in the url it makes it easier to spot writeblrs at a glance but it's not a requirement
Change your profile to something that's not the default, Make sure you have a blog title, and add a little description in your blog header if you feel like it!
Make a pinned post introducing yourself (pls don't use your real name or any IDing information for privacy's sake, this isn't facebook), a short summary of your WIPs, and links if you have an author's website/newsletter/ao3/etc. You can check my pinned post for an example
Make intro posts for each WIP! You can spruce these up with graphics (canva and unsplash are both great free resources to make edits/moodboards), excerpts, lists of tropes, character intros, etc. Link to the WIP intro in your pinned post so it's easy to find! You can update these as often as needed
If you want to make character intros, go wild. If you can't draw, piccrew is a great option. Just start talking about your WIP!
Come up with a tagging system to keep your blog organized. I recommend individual wip tags or at least one for your original writing in general so it's easy to search for your work on your blog
Keep track of Taglists for your WIPs. Whenever you post a new thing about your story, tag the people who asked to be notified to make sure they see it! Only tag people who ask to join the taglist, but it's a good way to keep track of interest. It's normal to have multiple taglists for each story+ one general writing taglist.
How to make writer friends
Reblog their work and add nice comments, either in the tags, comments, or the reblog itself People notice regulars in their notes and appreciate the attention. I promise it's not weird to compliment a total stranger
If that's too intimidating, community events are your friend!
Weekly Ask Games: These are weekly events that are loosely themed where writers send each other asks about their WIPs! The most common are Storyteller Saturday (about the writing process), Blorbsday (aka Blorbo Thursday about characters), and Worldbuilding Wednesday (about the setting of your story). If you answer these late, nobody really cares, but it's a fun way to receive prompts and learn more about other people's stories.
Ask Games/Memes: These are posts with lists of questions you can reblog from other people, sometimes themed or listed with emojis. It's common courtesy to send an ask from the list to the person you reblog it from, then people can send you questions as well, so you can talk about your stories! You can search for dozens of them
Tag games: There's a ton of different types of tag games, but basically someone @s you with a challenge/question, you reblog with your answer, and then @ a bunch of other people to continue the chain. Some common ones are Heads Up 7s Up (share the last 7 lines of your WIP), Last Line Tag (share the last line you wrote), and Find the Words (ctrl+f the given words in your doc and share the results, then give new words).
Formal events: These are community wide participation challenges organized by certain blogs! @writeblrsummerfest is every July?? August? I think? It's run by @abalonetea a few years strong, and there are daily prompts and ask games! @inklings-challenge is a month-long short story entry for Christian writeblrs. I think there was a valentines event in February. @moon-and-seraph is hosting a pitch week soon! Since these are more organized, it's very easy to find similar blogs and support!
Misc. Notes on using Tumblr
Follow the tags #writeblr and #writeblr community to find other writers, as well as other tags that interest you like #fantasy for example
If you want to bookmark a post to read later, you can like it and/or save it to your drafts
The queue/schedule function is very useful if you want to space out posts or have a backlog to keep your blog running when you get busy. This is good for the community because it gives older posts a chance to be rediscovered! You can change the posting frequency in the settings.
REBLOG YOUR OWN STUFF. People aren't always on at the same times and so it's the best way to account for people with different schedules and timezones. If you're worried about being annoying, you can tag those #self reblog or something similar and other people can filter the tag, but otherwise it's a welcomed and accepted practice.
If your excerpt is pretty long, put it under a cut. On desktop you can do this by selecting the squiggly button on the far right when you make a new paragraph, on mobile type :readmore: then hit enter.
It's polite to add descriptions to images and videos for visually or auditory impaired people. If you don't know how to write descriptions, here's a good resource
In your dashboard settings, it's best to shut off the options "Best Stuff First" and "Based on your Likes". These function as the website algorithm and suppresses the blogs you actually follow, which defeats the purpose of the site, letting the dash be in reverse chronological order. Also turn off Tumblr Live because it's malware as far as anyone's concerned.
Curate your experience, block the trolls, and be nice
Update for March 2024
How to shut off AI Scraping on your blog
Go to settings and find the Visibility tab
Scroll down to the tag that says "Prevent Third-Party Sharing"
Turn that knob over so that Automattic can't steal your work for their language training model databases >_<
The other settings will just hide your blog from search engines so they're useful for hiding from nosy parents or other Tumblr users but if you're trying to build an author platform you can leave them off.
Again, welcome to the community! I hope you have a ton of fun!

Hello, everyone new and old, to the Announcement post for the upcoming Writeblr Summerfest! While it will be another month until the main site @writeblrsummerfest will get its update, I’ll be drumming up the excitement for it over here! As is the case every year, we have some old favorites coming back, some recent changes being expanded on, and a whole new set of fun to visit!
Due to a theme-vote held earlier in the year, we’ll be taking a visit to a haunted house this year! As we explore the haunted house and unravel the mysteries within, we’ll encounter writing/moodboard prompts, character questions, new ask games, and so much more!
But wait!
Last year, there were two new additions to the Summerfest: goodie bags and a writeblr wide scavenger hunt! Not only will both of these be coming back this year, but we’re also going to, due to popular demand, include a digital goodiebag, in case you live somewhere that the Summerfest can’t ship to!
Old favorites, like both the free and the pay-to-enter contest will be getting revamps this year in rules, and in the method that they’re run!
And even more amazing, we’re adding two new optional ways to take part to the Summerfest!
This year, there will be a running story to pair with the daily prompts and postings. This story will function like an overarching writing prompt that you can choose to take part in – and to pair with it, we’re going to be having a guest artist selling blind-bag adoptables designed just for the ‘exploring a haunted house’ setting!
More information on all of these events, others, will be coming to you soon! Don’t forget to mark your calendars – the Summerfest begins on August 1st!

on ao3 I always see people doing challenges... how do you join challenges?
-someone who wants to try a challenge
Daaahhh okay so I haven't participated in fandom challenges in years. Back in my day we had bangs (themed collab events between writers and artists they were awesome but also led to my 18 month burn out so watch out) but I don't see those anymore :( Might be because I don't write for spn anymore? Not sure what happened there. But I do see some challenges float across my dash sometimes.
There are a lot of bingo ones. Tbh idk where those come from lol They just sort of show up? I think people just make them and some get traction and others don't. You can try searching *keyword* bingo and see what comes up but I can't help you beyond that, sorry.
Challenges pretty much always have a recurring theme and timeline and hopefully a dedicated blog where the mods post prompts, FAQs, and rules. Like the sicktember challenge is a month long hurt/comfort prompt event that takes place in September. They already have their 2023 prompt list up so you can check that out as well as the linked FAQ and how to submit if you're interested in participating in that one (or if you just want to get a feel for how these things typically work).
Each challenge kind of operates in its own way with specific rules on what they allow in story submissions so be sure to give the rules a read before you sign up, but generally you get a list of prompts and have a certain deadline to finish writing and then post it on tumblr using the specified tags, or post on AO3 and add it to the specified challenge collection, or both! Again, whatever challenge you're interested in should have all of that spelled out for you on their blog. If you're iffy on the details you should be able to submit an ask with questions.
If you've seen a challenge you want to participate in on ao3 then you can try searching for it here on tumblr and hopefully find a blog for it, or you can comment on a fic that's part of the challenge and (compliment the fic first) ask how you can get in involved and where to go to find out more information.
If all else fails you can search "writing challenge" on tumblr and wade through the results until you find something that looks interesting, but keep in mind challenges tend to be seasonal so you'll see very different results searching now as opposed to December as opposed to February etc etc.
I have a tendency to follow challenge blogs that look interesting as they pop up on my dash (even though I know I'll likely never participate, I'm just nosy , I wanna know what everyone's up to). Let me take a gander through my following list and see what all I've got...
@flufftober @whumptober @sicktember @shortfictionweeklychallenge @writeblrsummerfest @nanowrimo @ockissweek @webpril @spideypoolbigbang <- a bang!! @marvelartparty <- art only @parknerweek @flashfictionfridayofficial
That's everything from me. Does anyone else have any writing challenge blogs they could share?
Editing to add @marvel-events-central from the replies (look at all the good shit in that there blog 👀)
#writing challenge#resources#writeblr#writing community#i feel like i always go overboard when i get questions like this but here we are

Hey real last minute let me introduce you folks to
[Photo ID: The fully capitalized word “AWEGUST” on a dusty rose to navy gradient rectangle, the background full of multicoloured sparkles. End ID.]
I’ve been wanting to do a writeblr/artblr event for awhile to try to bring more activity to the communities, and over the past week or so I’ve been brainstorming up a month of weekly prompts along with a BINGO card to fill out! Obviously this is partially inspired by the brilliance that is @writeblrsummerfest, but with more of a focus on appreciating and celebrating our fellow artists and writers! (It’s also a far smaller event. ^^)
So what is this “Awegust”?
Aside from a terribly non-creative name, this is a month-long event where I’m going to be posting up prompts weekly over on a blog named @awegust to encourage artblrs and writeblrs to reblog posts from, tag, send asks to, and make things for their favourite creators!
There will also be a BINGO card that you can attempt to complete four or more of the prompts to get a straight line, or to maybe even to fill out the whole card!
All posts that are tagged with #awegust will be reblogged to this blog as well!
I can’t wait until tomorrow to show all you folks everything!
#awegust#writeblr#artblr#writeblr community#artblr community#writeblr events#artblr events#please reblog this to spread the word!

Hello there! what is writeblr summerfest? (I’m very out of the loop) i see your posts about it and it looks fun.
Hey there! Writeblr Summerfest is an event that is hosted by @abalonetea (and I will direct you to her, as she can answer this better than I can). It features writing prompts, questions for your characters, and even two writing contests, which you can enter for a chance to win a goodie bag! I believe this is the third year that Writeblr Summerfest has been running.
There is a blog for the event, if you'd like to check it out, it's @writeblrsummerfest!

Hey, got any advice for introducing/writing my first original work ?
Hello friend! Thank you for the ask!
So I’ll be real, I don’t feel particularly qualified to answer this question but I shall Do My Best :D
This is all related to introducing your original work, because honestly writing my first original work is something that I am still working on XD
If you’re wanting to introduce your original work (to tumblr, I presume?) I feel that the first thing to do would be to write a proper introductory post! I did this one for Angel, and although it is my intro for NaNoWriMo last year, it still gets the point across.
A few things you could do for your intro post:
a plot synopsis - hook us in!
the genre - fantasy (urban/high?), romance, mystery.
any themes or tropes you are going to explore - found family, death, enemies to lovers. As a small aside, if you think that you are going to write about something potentially triggering, I would include a small warning on the post as well. Just like “this story will discuss/may contain/reference death/alcoholism/abuse”, just so that people are aware and can keep themselves safe. Any time you post such content, you should tag it appropriately (make sure it’s tagged as “trigger tw” or “trigger cw” because tumblr).
A quick rundown of the main character(s) with basic details (ages, gender, sexuality - if you feel it relevent! I didn’t because I haven’t decided on my characters’ yet XD)
a moodboard! Highly optional but a good way to catch readers eyes with cool graphics, quotes or pictures.
This is just for your introduction, mind you. Including too much information may overload the reader but you do want them to be interested in more!
I would recommend making a tag list that people could ask to join and then any time you post about the WIP, you have a Beautiful following of people who want to see it :D I have a separate post for a tag list, and I update it whenever someone asks to be added to it! It helps me keep organised by having a Definitive List.
I also really had fun doing the Comic Sans Powerpoint because it provided a chance to be more lighthearted about it. You could also go into more detail here, especially with your characters, the world, and the story. The key thing with this is to Have Fun with it!
Finally, once you’ve got a few posts about the characters/world/excerpts from the story, I would suggest making a masterlist. Compile everything you’ve done for it, organise it by category/chronological order. Here is mine for Angel, and feel free to take a browse at what I have included there!
Something that I find very helpful in this community is engage, engage, engage. I promise, everyone is lovely and will be happy to have you around! Read other people’s work, reblog it and comment on it when you can. I promise you will make someones day and (in my case at least) they will probably go to check out your work too!
Don’t feel bad if you can’t keep up with reading and reblogging every time, no one will mind if you wait a day or even a month before reblogging it! I tend to wait until my drafts get full of stuff and then spend a few hours going through everything. Right now, I’m going through all the responses people made for yourocsbackstory Antagonist event!
Also, feel free to engage in writeblr events! These are generally open to everyone and happen fairly regularly, and are a good way to show off your WIP to other writers! Off the top of my head, right now, there is @yourocsbackstory (which is currently an Antagonist event! The intro week was last week, but you can start any time!) @writeblrsummerfest which is something that is going on throughout the entire month of August with fun prompts!
I think that’s everything, I hope this makes sense XD and I hope you find this helpful :D Feel free to send me a message anytime btw! Especially regarding the writing your first original story thing, I’m currently still doing that. I don’t have a complete first draft yet, believe it or not! I’d also love to learn more about your WIP!

THE LETTERS WE WROTE
• ‘To Be A Hero’ Redux •
[Pinterest]
GENRE: Mystery; Drama; Thriller; LGBT+
STATUS: Planning/Outlining
POV//NARRATORS: Third (Limited); Charity Ann Blanchard, Juniper Brandt & Anna-Jade Chen

Juniper Brandt is more than ready to finish high school and head off to college. Really, she’s ready to do anything if it means finally leaving her hometown behind. After the death of her best friend, she’s ready to do anything in order to forget...
Two years earlier, in her sophomore year of high school, Charity Ann Blanchard is willing to do anything to have an article in the school paper, including going to the abandoned research facility on the edge of town. But she soon finds that uncovering secrets is harder than it looks, and keeping them even more so...
A decade later, AJ Chen would like nothing more than for people to just leave her alone. The events she left behind in White Bleak Point still haunt her, and she’s desperate to move past it...
When all three girls begin receiving letters drawing them into a decades-old mystery, though, they learn that nothing can ever truly stay a secret forever. And it’s only a matter of time before it claims them all.

A high-school senior who’s more than ready to graduate and leave home. She writes letters to her dead best-friend in her diary.

A sophomore in high-school who dreams of becoming an investigative journalist. Desperate to prove herself, she sometimes takes on a bit more than she can actually handle.
Anna-Jade Chen | she-her | 15-25 | bisexual
A tired young woman who wants to do nothing more than forget her past and move on with her life. Knows more than she lets on.
A/N: Now that Camp NaNo is over, it’s time for me to get to work on my other big project. AKA, the To Be A Hero rewrite! It’s got a new name, a new plot, and I can already tell it’s going to be a pain in the ass to write xD. I’ll be working on this project throughout the month of August for @writeblrsummerfest so be prepared to see a lot of it!~

hello and how are you, fellow Wanderers?
We are the Storyverse Amalgamations [ primarily we / they, System of Whispers ] and we're so happy to be able to jump in and find the courage to join in this Summerfest! We hope to be able to dive in and participate in all that we can and we hope that everyone can have fun with this new adventure!
We write so many genres and have way too many Works to even properly count and introduce, but we dabble in just about everything. Hopefully one day these Works will end up as books, though we're not that worried about it. All we know is that we want to write and not even the Three will keep us from that kind of joy.
Happy August and Good Luck to everyone joining in! Hope to see you all around this month! (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧
We’re going to focus on getting to know each other today. Reblog this post and introduce yourself!

I'm a few days late but I wanted to give a HUGE shoutout to @abalonetea for running the @writeblrsummerfest event! I'm bummed I didn't have the chance to participate more than I did but it was such fun to see what everyone came up with for the different prompts and games and I know that is a lot of work to create and manage on your own. Thank you Katie!

I know everyone says this all the time, but people say it and then don’t do anything about it. it’s 2020. we have all kinds of cool events like @yourocsbackstory @writeblrsummerfest Feedback Friday, Storyteller Saturday, Wip Progress Sunday (check them out guys, all totally awesome!) and!
I still see no one reblogging other writeblrs works! I see people reblogging ask games and not sending in an ask from who they got the post from! the writeblr community is literally built off of interacting with each other, and that interaction is by and by almost totally gone.
get back to it!
just! do it! go reblog someone’s work! send an ask in about their character! join an event and then read through other people’s entries! send a thank you message to the host! comment!
do something nice for the community you love!
#writeblr#lets thrive this year#what happened to the era of leaving comments in tags#reblogging and talking to people#where did that go?

Response to another character prompt set from @writeblrsummerfest
The prompt words being
Jingle bells
Strawberry Candy
Tea
Quick notes before the character info itself because some scifi world building related things involved.
Lunarian: a elf like species from a planet where it's dark a lot. They are sensitive to sunlight and their color schemes tend to be dark blue, white, silver, and gold themed. Have a sort of sister species on another planet called Solarnerians.
Fooniment: home planet of the Elpochians. A species that's gargoyle like with long dreads that resemble snakes (they are not snakes, they only move because of electricity running through the dreads. The species has electric powers.) . a very Vegas like place.
So the prompt bases characters name is Ti-Quinn.
She is a Lunarian. Her hair is dark blue with silver streaks. It's braided into a pony tail an gold jingle bells blended in as well. Her clothing choice is often in shades of gold.
Ti-Quinn owns a fairly popular tea house. Tea being a popular drink on the Lunarian planet.
The shop is called the Crescent Pond. So called because of the viewing decks that face the pristine pond and garden around it, in the back of the tea house.
Ti-Quinn also loves strawberry hard candy. Her favorite is a import from the planet Fooniment. That particular candy has a kick to it as it crackles in ones mouth when eaten.
In personality Ti-Quinn is friendly and chatty. Fun loving.
Loves to come up with fun events to have at the tea house. Such as paint and tea nights.

Welcome To Lemon Tree Lane
Event: Summerfest @writeblrsummerfest
Prompt: Write your minky (or other character!) as they first encounter the house at Lemon Tree Lane. This will be an ongoing challenge! Every day, we’re going to see a little bit more of Lizzy’s story and get a new Lemon Tree Lane prompt. Let’s explore the haunted house together!
Haunted houses aren't often haunted, which isn't that much of a comfort when you're searching for them. Ghosts, spirits, demons, phantoms, whatever name they got they weren't easy to find.
Maybe this one is different, Saga thinks to herself and looks at the abandoned house in front of her. It's old enough to be, but that hospital in York had also been old and nothing came out of that. Expect disappointment, and you can only be glad at the outcome. If you're right, well, huzzah, and if not, 'ey!
With windows so filthy it's impossible to even peek a glimpse, this house feels promising. A way out at last.
She turns her back to the house and looks out into the woods. Wind grabs her hair and pulls, but she can't feel if it's cold or not on her skin. Maybe it's a warm summer evening or it's got people curled up at home with blankets and a good strong cuppa in their hands.

“It’s so hot, I’m going to melt.”
A prompt from @writeblrsummerfest‘s week 3 prompt list! Thank you to @thel3tterm for submitting the prompt!
“You sure you and Loch are alright today?” Art said, shifting his position on the hard wood of the dock so his arm rested more comfortably under his chin. Art normally brought Loch and Tatum lunch every day, but he would be at a speech his foster mother was making today, and only had time to meet up with the boys for a bit before leaving to get ready for the event.
“Yeah yeah, we’ll be fine, you forget that we don’t rely solely on you for food, I still have plenty of those pearls you gave me,” Tatum said, floating on his back beneath the dock with his hands behind his head. “Though I don’t know why you bother going, why don’t you just skip it? She’s just a tinfaced homophobe, you don’t owe her shit.”
“Except for you know, taking me in and feeding me and giving me a place to live and being overall tolerant of me,” Art pointed out.
“Those are bare minimum things Art. You deserve much more than that,” he said, his sharp eyes narrowing seriously. “Those things aren’t worth going to watch her spew on about how she hates people who are different than her, people like you.”
“I don’t mind that much,” Art lied, looking away from Tatum’s face for a moment. “I won’t be really listening anyway. I think she would be hurt if I didn’t come, and that would probably end up with me getting grounded and not being able to see you guys.”
Tatum heaved a sigh. “Yeah, I guess so.” He didn’t look convinced though. Art let his hand drop into the water by Tatum’s shoulder.
“Don’t worry. The only thing I’m worried about is how hot it’s gonna be. It’s so hot, I going to melt,” Art said with a laugh. Tatum suddenly got a sly look on his face.
“You know, you could come for a swim before going home. You’ll be changing out of those clothes anyway right?”
“Well, that could be fun, I am wearing my swimming binder today.”
“The hell’re you wearing your swimming binder for?”
“The other one was dirty and I can’t wash it until I know my foster parents won’t be around to see it. I don’t know that they would know what it was, but I don’t really wanna risk it. But I probably shouldn’t swim anyway, I should be heading out soon.”
“Aww, c’mon! Just for a minute!”
Art flicked water onto Tatum’s face playfully.
“Ack-- Hey!”
“You deserved it. And I should be going,” Art said, pushing off of his chest and onto his knees. “I’ll be back tomorrow, I promise.”
“Yeah I know, I just think you would feel better if you got a nice swim!”
“I’m leaving!” Art said, standing up with a grin.
“Hey! Get back here!”
“Bye-bye now!”
Tatum didn’t respond. Art looked behind him and found Tatum had gone. Hope he’s not really mad at me--
There was a loud splash to Art’s left, and something slammed into his side, sending him straight off the other side of the dock and into the water. He barely remembered to hold his breath before his head went under.
The cool water washed over him, making his clothes billow out, and his eyes sting a little from the saltwater. Art had a moment to see what had attacked him before resurfacing.
It was Tatum, who had his arms still wound protectively about Art’s waist, his face hovering only an inch above Art’s.
“Goodbye.”

I’ve been wanting to introduce Viviana for a while, so when I saw @writeblrsummerfest call for character intros, I thought—why not???
Viviana Westerguard
Viviana is godborn. Her mother is one of Eldora’s goddesses. Which goddess? Well. A good sorceress never reveals her secrets.
Her godborn traits are her pure white eyes, long black horns, and a white birthmark in the shape of a stylized eye on her forehead. She’s rarely caught without her “seeing stones” and deck of cards.
During the events of The Martyr Queen, Viviana is little more than a background character—she shows up briefly to act as informant before being left behind. However, in book two, Viviana jumps to the forefront. For she is part of a special guild, one commonly known as the Librarians or Wisdom’s Daughters. Among themselves, though, they are known as the Secret Keepers.
And Viviana knows the biggest secret of them all.
Or she did, until a Fate-orchestrated accident threw her memories into chaos. If they are ever to find the key to defeating Fate, they must restore Viviana’s mind… but how to even begin?
Some more facts:
Ravenclaw, but totally could be a Slytherin.
Asexual/Aromantic.
Eclectic fashion sense I would love to borrow.
#this intro is not quite up to par but#pls enjoy my girl anyway!!!#tmq#viviana westerguard#writeblr summerfest#despite the summary#thats not quite the plot of book 2#probs more like 3
