thought of the night as i venture slowly further into a new fandom: i have an intense soft spot for gandrel. like i am sorry i simply just do not have it in me to side with anyone but the romani coded individual who experiences egregious in text racism and who has deeply complicated history with a vampire that does not hold personal responsibility for the great injury done to the individual’s community ?? weird to see people talking about killing him and how mean he is for trying to hurt the favorite vampire man. like yeah gandrel is misguided but might we perhaps talk about the racism he immediately experiences 4 a moment. thinking about elevenclara it could've been So Good like it has a lot of potential but sadly a) series 7b sucks and b) they don't have much chemistry they don't work with eachother the way any other doctor and companion do I find it really odd. anyway so im living in my dream world where the main dynamic of their relationship is that the doctor doesn't fully see her as a person he sees her more as something to study he's fascinated with her because she keeps dying he keeps seeing her die all over the universe (and on that note she should've appeared in more episodes pre being a companion) but his fascination with her is much the same as it would be with a science project he sees her as a puzzle to solve. and I think that aspect of their relationship would really nicely parallel twelves "you don't see me, you look at me and you don't see me" in deep breath. and clara is enamoured with this man she wants nothing more than to run away across the universe but she has to stay in control she can't just follow her impulses so she says come back tomorrow. and he does and they travel but she starts to see how he looks at her and he says things that don't line up and he doesn't tell her he's seen her die. and now she's not in control anymore and it's messing her up and then name/day/time of the doctor happens and suddenly she's faced with a man she doesn't recognise and who no longer looks at her like she's a puzzle he needs to solve and she doesn't recognise him at all. and that leads to the insanity that is twelveclara

Watching Eega right now, which was also written and directed by Rajamouli, and having another one of his movies to put RRR in perspective just makes it even more insanely gay like. In literally one Eega scene he managed to get me so hooked on the main couple like that's LOVE that's DEVOTION that's ART. So he is capable of writing showstopping straight romances, he just chose not to in RRR. This guy is out here making a whole light projector out of a bag of chips so his crush can finish her sculpture more easily, and Raju didn't even write to Seetha for 5 years. Bheem and Jenny didn't even get unambiguously together. Literally obsessed

I'm not gonna defend her bc I do not speak for the trans community & especially not the thai trans community, but I think that, once again, inter fans are completely forgetting the cultural aspect as to why namtan might have said that. namtan herself has always described herself as a "katoey" bc she mostly hangs out with queer trans people, and while that doesn't excuse anything it can show you her mindset. moreover, in a culture where "ladyboys" are not really fully seen as trans women, we also have to understand why it's more accepted in thailand to refer to a "ladyboy" as a man or whatever, though I think attitudes are changing with social media introducing the concept of transness from the west to thai people. so I am not surprised at all tbh, when gmmtv have edited a beard on jennie, and most of jennie's humor herself is referring to herself as a man & putting on a fake beard (not saying it's okay, but it just shows the culture surrounding "ladyboys".) moreover, this clip is from jennie's channel which means her & her editors did not find any fault in what namtan said. once again, I'm not saying all of this is okay, I'm just saying that it's not right to not take the cultural aspect into consideration before painting everything with a broad brush, when "ladyboys" have been a reality in thailand for way longer than openly trans people in the west, and also were & somewhat still are regarded as a separate third gender rather than fitting in the binary. in fact, if you are a gay or bi man, you do not fit in the category of "man" either according to thai culture, bc in thailand gender is seen as intertwined with sexuality therefore there are way more than two or three genders. so ALL OF THAT TO SAY that I understand being offended & hurt by this and the many other examples of transphobia or at least insensitivity towards trans people coming from thai actors, but I don't think it's right either to view a different culture through the western lens you were raised with, and cultural difference & history should be taken into account. do with all that info what you will.

in a world where his brain screams at how to kill his targets a million different ways from the crosshairs of his eyes, apollo is without a mark on his head.

what does this mean?

this means his love overrides that concept. he is not an enemy. he is someone who can cradle his love's face in his bloodstained hands and think only about how much he loves and wants to kiss apollo. about how he can watch apollo's sleeping face at sunrise to see his peaceful expression. about how he couldn't ask for a better other half.

that his journey to being a person is always miles behind apollo, where he's taking off and knowing himself while midnighter is still stuck trying to work with a computer brain that never shuts the fuck up.

that it's quiet with apollo and jenny. the thousands of statistics to maim or kill doesn't reach them, it's like traffic outside. those thoughts, those statistics go on mute around them.

how he trusts and loves and works to be better for apollo. apollo could easily kill him, but his computer brain is quiet.

apollo to midnighter is home. home to love, home to return to and repair the damage of mistakes, home to cherish. apollo's an angel, the sun god, the sun king, the sunshine to him.

apollo first was his teammate, aquaintance, friend, best friend, and boyfriend. he's still his teammate and best friend, but he's also his husband and other part of parenting their child together. his other half.

he loves apollo more than the words he can express, more than the nonverbal gestures and gifts he can give. it's hard but fucking hell, he'll try for him.

apollo was there on the start of the fight for a better world but along the way he time and time again made midnighter want to work at being a person. at being a better man. at repairing his mistakes from when he left them.

in a world where there's thousands of code and results for how to break and dispose of a person piece by piece in red x's, apollo is seen through a red spotlight. through a red colored camera lens.

Unpopular Opinion:

When I actually look at BTS and BP I'm truly reminded of how different those groups are. Both groups have been given everything by their fans, their success is because of their fans. But you have 1 group who does everything in their power to give everything back to their fans, always showing appreciation and doing everything they can for their fans. While the other group wouldn't even give a single fan the time of day. Wild.

Blinks have been the most mistreated fandom by their faves, it's honestly so wild to me how they have fans still. I know Blinks are becoming more of a dying breed rn, but you still have those dedicated die hard who have that glimmer of hope and all I gotta say is: praying for you.
