madame morrible has the worst fucking luck ever and I CAN'T because first of all after decades and decades of waiting she finally gets her most promising student yet right; she finally gets someone who actually has magic and who might actually be able to read the grimmerie and help further her and the wizard's plans and COINCIDENTALLY this student (bless her heart) is shunned and ostracized by literally EVERYONE including her own family and is desperately craving some form of parental love and affection and validation and acceptance and so madame morrible is like 'ooh this is fucking PERFECT this girl is going to be SO easy to manipulate into doing what I want what could possibly go wrong wow.'
and in comes the fucking pink lesbian.
because elphaba is shunned and hated and all of her peers avoid and detest her because she's weird and green BUT then all of a sudden?? out of nowhere??? she and her pink roommate who, mind you, had a choreographed song and dance routine which involved the entire student body in which they detailed how much they really really hate each other, got really fucking close??? now they go everywhere and do everything together??? they are attached at the hip and looking longingly into each other's eyes WHAT IS HAPPENING????
you are madame morrible and you think galinda upland is in love with your student and what is worse is that your student might be in love with galinda upland and that fucking SUCKS because how the fuck are you supposed to properly emotionally manipulate her now. and it makes absolutely zero sense to you because WHY is galinda upland, the most popular girl at shiz taking an interest in your student??? WHY IS SHE HERE, WHY IS THE FRUITY BITCH RUINING YOUR PLANS???
glinda's very EXISTENCE is a thorn in your side; her simply being herself and interacting with elphaba is probably the reason why you feel a headache coming every time you see them together and is perhaps the reason why you scream into your pillow at night because this absolute loser lesbian just being there might upend a huge fucking chunk of what you've been planning for years.
and then the fucking cherry on top of all of this your student decides to play vigilante and flies off into the sunset and then that leaves you stuck WITH her situationship who you hate more than anyone in the world and you're forced to sort of team up with her for a bit except she doesn't really know magic and she's just being sad and gay and moping about missing her girlfriend and you're sitting there FUMING thinking about how all these fucking witches are fruitier than fuck and all of them are useless to you at this point.
like this is just madame morrible at shiz after elphaba asks her to include glinda in their study sessions just realizing 'dear god I am going to be ping-ponging between these lesbians for the rest of my fucking life aren't I.'
ik she needed elphaba for the plot and for her dastardly plans but in all honesty if I was her and elphaba came up to me at 1am and was like yes please I need you to include my roommate with whom I have a homoerotic relationship in our study sessions or else I will quit right now. also, you have to go down to our party this very instant and tell her in person yourself bye and thanks, I would've just handed in my resignation letter right then and there and cut my losses.
#wicked#wicked 2024#wicked movie#this is for the movie specifically but i just love the madame morrible-glinda dynamic#like the initial one sided beef they have is SO fucking funny#because glinda's like “wow i admire and respect you!! i want to be like you!!”#and morrible's like “if you fucking touch me i will actually set you on fire”#but she HAS to tolerate glinda for elphaba's sake#like she CAN'T#she's stuck with this girl#she can't escape her#even when elphaba leaves GLINDA'S STILL HERE#AND SHE'S NOW STUCK WITH GLINDA#SHE PUT UP WITH THIS NONSENSE FOR ELPHABA#AND ELPHABA'S FUCKING GONE AND LEFT HER WITH THIS THING#AND NOW HERE SHE IS#it's so FUNNY i can't#especially because by the end glinda's also like oh you thought i made your life hell before think again ugly bitch try me#love that for her i won't lie#glinda upland#galinda upland#elphaba thropp#gelphie#gelphie: ruining lives since their shiz days#good on them yk

how do you think jealous glinda would act
JEALOUS GALINDA HEADCANNONS
warnings : none!
author’s note : this got me out of my writers block ( FREAKING FINALLY ) so thank you anon!
⭑ galinda loves being the centre of attention, loves it, especially when she gets to be the centre of your attention. she’s not used to not getting what she wants, not used to not being the sun, the moon, the planets, and stars in everyone’s galaxy, so the idea of her having to share your attention with anyone else is such a foreign concept to her
⭑ galinda, who always wants to hang out with you! she wants to study together ( though it’s mostly you working and her staring at you with big goo goo eyes because you look so pretty when you’re concentrating! ) or going on super elaborate dates she’s planned out, or just hanging out in her dorm and kissing until she can’t stop giggling
⭑ so when you start to hang out with someone else just a tad bit more than you do her, like maybe you eat lunch with some your classmates instead of going off with her, or if you say you can’t come over that night because you’re hanging out with someone else, she freaks out!
⭑ why don’t you wanna hang out with her anymore? did she do something wrong? was she a bad girlfriend? did she hurt your feelings? elphaba finds her in bed curled up in ball with her knees tucked up to her chest, overthinking every little thing the two of you have ever done, trying to figure out why you might be mad at her
⭑ spoiler alert! you’re not mad! she’s just a chronic overthinker who can’t go a day without getting to hold your hand and kiss you
⭑ the moment you come over next she’s bawling in your arms and begging for you to forgive her because she doesn’t understand why you’re mad and she’s sorry if she hurt your feelings! she’s so not used to feeling so strongly about someone and she doesn’t want to mess a single thing up
⭑ in an instant you’re cuddling her and kissing her face and insisting she didn’t do anything wrong, and that she’s been nothing but the most amazing girlfriend imaginable! you just wanted to spend some time with your other friends, that’s all! you don’t love her any less
⭑ she’s all pouty and red in the face and somehow as elegant and pretty as ever, maybe even more, when she looks up at you
“galinda, what are you talking about? you are nothing short of the most amazing girlfriend on the planet! just because we’re not spending every second of every day together doesn’t mean i love you any less”
“you p - p - promise?”
⭑ galinda tries not to be super clingy after that, tries to teach herself that just because you’re hanging out with your friends or you’re not sleeping over every night, that it doesn’t mean you don’t care about her or what to break up, tries to teach herself that she doesn’t need to be always be the centre of attention. she’s still learning! it’s her first time being a relationship that she really does care about
⭑ of course she can only handle so much, it’s hard not to be clingy and possessive when she sees someone blatantly flirting with you! you’re her girlfriend after all!
⭑ the moment someone touches your arm sweetly or compliments your hair or clothes in a definitively not platonic way, she’s practically appearing at your side, arms wrapped around your waist with her face nuzzled into your shoulder
⭑ she’s constantly kissing your cheek, snuggling up against you, squeezing your hand, and repeating the word ‘girlfriend’ over and over until whoever decided they had the right to even breathe in the direction of you awkwardly wanders off
“oh! i don’t believe we’ve met, i’m galinda upland, her GIRLFRIEND!” “i was just in the bathroom, hope i didn’t keep my GIRLFRIEND waiting for too long!” “thanks for taking such good care of my GIRLFRIEND, but i can take it from here, as i am her GIRLFRIEND, and she is my GIRLFRIEND”
⭑ she doesn’t leave your side for the rest of the night, flipping her hair in the direction of ( and maybe even into the face of ) anyone who tries to hit on you. you’re her girlfriend! not theirs!
⭑ she can’t help but feel insecure though, her face is a nervous mix between a scowl and a pout for most of the night, constantly squeezing your hand as if to remind herself that you’re very much still there, that you haven’t left her for someone else
⭑ it’s not until she drags you back to her dorm does she break down, blubbering about how she’s worried about ‘not being good enough’ and how ‘everyone who hit on you was so much sexier and cooler than her’ and how ‘she’s not even that good of a girlfriend because she doesn’t know what she’s doing! but she doesn’t want to screw anything up!’
⭑ you’re barely able to calm her down, let alone pull her into your arms and lead her over towards her bed
“ssh, sh, hey, hey, galinda look at me. nobody at that stupid party was as cool or sexy or amazing as you are. you are the brightest, most wonderful person i’ve ever met, and i’d be an idiot to even consider dumping you for some dumb guy or girl who tries to hit on me. you don’t have to be perfect, nobodies perfect baby, but you are damn well pretty close. i love galinda upland, nothings gonna change that”
⭑ somehow that made her cry more! not out of sadness but just because she’s so overwhelmed with joy and love because you love her and you think she’s perfect and pretty and sexy and amazing, and it made her heart flutter in her chest so hard she’s worried it’ll explode
⭑ she flops right against you, burying her face into your shoulder and mumbling ‘i love you’ over and over and over until she finally stops crying, and by then you’re both exhausted
⭑ you end up spending the night at hers, galinda tucked against your chest your face buried in her hair, arms cradling her protectively
⭑ she ends up staying awake long after you’ve fallen asleep. titling her head up just so, watching and listening to you breathe because you’re the most gorgeous creature on earth and she’s the one who gets to lay against you like this, and she’s not sure something else has ever made her happier

one musical to movie change i haven't really seen anyone talk about is the subtle difference in how glinda's potential future with the wizard is laid out to her before defying gravity (and how that changes how you can read her motivations).
in the musical the wizard explictly says "you have so many opportunities ahead of you - you both do" and then that's that, so glinda has reason to believe she has a legitimate future with the wizard regardless of whether elphaba's there. this can play into the interpretation that she stays behind for her own ambitions - she clearly has opportunities waiting for her.
however, this actually isn't how it comes across in the movie, at least to me. the wizard's original inclusion of glinda in his plans is changed from explicitly mentioning opportunity to just "you having a home here [...] and if it'll make you happy, possibly, your friend." in the movie version, the wizard directly states only that glinda would be joining them in the palace - and it's merely a suggestion as an addition to elphaba (she's even just referred to as her friend, not being spoken directly to) to make elphaba want to stay, rather than him describing glinda as someone who could have her own individual opportunities.
then, when elphaba runs away, morrible tells glinda "you want to do yourself some good, bring her back." here, morrible now suggests that glinda could do something for herself and her individual future. what i find interesting is that glinda instead jumps on the hot air balloon with elphaba and even fights off the guards with her. while glinda does try to talk elphaba down for awhile ("let's just have a word with them," "you've got to let him explain," etc.), she ultimately abandons this approach by the time elphaba has chosen to defy gravity.
in the movie, glinda goes against morrible's direct orders of bringing elphaba back when she accepts elphaba's choice to leave and helps her get ready. this means that by supporting elphaba in her decision, glinda actually abandons the chance she believes she has to finally get in with morrible (and by extension the wizard). in movie-verse, glinda really has no reason to believe staying behind without elphaba could advance her own ambitions, because both the wizard and morrible have laid out a potential future for her that is reliant on having elphaba at her side and keeping elphaba compliant to them (and using glinda to do that). i don't think that movie!glinda ultimately stays behind for selfish/power-seeking reasons, because the wizard and morrible haven't actually suggested to her that she has a path alongside them as an individual. (they also just truly show no interest in glinda as an individual person in a much more obvious way than in the musical, but that could be its own post.)
ariana grande has spoken a couple times on how one of the emotions glinda feels in the added hug scene with morrible is relief, and i think this all is why. glinda chose to stay behind while helping elphaba escape, knowing it was disobeying what was asked of her. given glinda is also being detained by the guards in that moment, i think that relief comes from her genuinely not having known if she would be safe or would become essentially a prisoner after staying behind, and feeling relief when morrible does free/accept her and suggests there's still a path for her.
there's definitely moral grayness to discuss with how glinda accepts her position within the regime and settles into it, but i think (in movie-verse) the actual choice to stay behind isn't one of those moments — it wasn't established to glinda that staying behind without elphaba could actually lead her to power and opportunity with the wizard, and she directly goes against the one path to power that was suggested to her by helping elphaba leave.
#wicked analysis#does this essay have a point? unclear tbh#but it's something i've been thinking about a lot especially when people discuss glinda's motivations#bc i don't actually see movie!glinda as being selfish in this specific moment#gelphie#kinda#wicked#wicked movie

Glinda gets what she deserves at the end of Wicked
I don’t necessarily mean this in an all negative light either, Glinda’s ending is bittersweet – sad, but hopeful. But she does not deserve an all out happy ending at the end of the musical.
I don’t know if I’m gonna be crucified for this, but here goes.
Glinda in Act 2 is a key part of a fascist regime. She doesn’t just live in it, she isn’t forced to take part in it and she’s not working as a double agent (like Fiyero). She knows what they are doing to the Animals (which includes separating infants from their mothers and putting them in cages, and making Animals so afraid they literally forget how to speak), she knows and loves people it is hurting and yet she continues to actively promote it.
(I won’t point out the connections to real world situations, but I’m sure you guys can all think of examples and think of how you feel about people who are active participants in helping such regimes.)
We see she knows all this too. We see she excuses it for her ego and the power:
Glinda: Do you think I like to hear them say those awful things about her? I hate it!
Fiyero: Then what are we doing here? Let's go, let's get out of here!
Glinda: We can't leave now, not when people are looking to us to raise their spirits.
Fiyero: You can't leave, because you can't resist this. And that is the truth.
Glinda: Maybe I can't. Is that so wrong? Who could?
Elphaba: No, of course you never! You're too busy telling everyone how wonderful everything is!
Glinda: I'm a public figure, now. People expect me to...
Elphaba: Lie?
Glinda: Be encouraging!
And if one could possibly argue (weakly) that, given she’s not actually doing any of the regime’s actual violence, just keeping people’s hopes up she’s not as bad as those who are, she gets worse:
Morrible: Well, we'll just flush her out and force her to show herself.
Wizard: But how?
Glinda: Her sister
Morrible: What? What did she say?
Glinda: Use her sister. Spread a rumour. Make her think her sister is in trouble and she will fly to her side... and you'll have her.
Even if one argues that Glinda is somehow not clever enough to realise that they’ll end up killing Nessa, she sure as hell knows it will get Elphaba captured. And there’s no way that Elphaba being captured won’t lead to the execution of her best friend. Yes, she’s heartbroken, yes, she might not have said this when emotions weren’t running high, but it doesn’t make her terrible words less deadly (and bear in mind Elphaba hadn’t even done anything to hurt Glinda! It was Fiyero who chose to go with her).
Glinda only really starts realising what she has done in March of the Witch hunters, when Nessa is dead, Fiyero is tortured and presumed dead and Elphaba has descended into madness – all because of her own action. And, kudos to her, this is when she decides to change, she immediately goes to Elphaba and tries to warn her about the Witch Hunters, apologises and ultimately Elphaba trusts her with the Grimmorie and to continue her legacy (which she immediately does by overthrowing the Wizard). She has started down the track to good but she still has a long way to go.
I am not the first, nor will I be the last to point this out but “Goodness knows the wicked’s lives are lonely, goodness knows the wicked die alone”, sung by Glinda,is clearly not about Elphaba. Elphaba was not wicked, nor did she die alone (literally Dorothy was in the room and metaphorically Glinda supported and loved her). Glinda is singing about herself, Glinda knows she has been wicked, Glinda knows that it is her own actions that have lead to the “death” of her friends.
So what Glinda is left with is a chance to do good. A chance to live up to her name and make up for what she’s done. A chance to use what she’s most talented at, making people like her, to continue the legacy of her best friend. Despite everything, Elphaba does trust her, if she didn’t she wouldn’t have left her with this responsibility.
Glinda: Fellow Ozians, friends, we have been through a frightening time. There will be other times and other things that frighten us. But if you let me, I'd like to try to help. I'd like to try to be... Glinda the Good.
This is why she is going to “try” to be Glinda the Good, because she hasn’t been good yet. She has learnt a lot of very hard lessons through the narrative, been dragged kicking and screaming out of her selfishness, ego and giving into her worst impulses and is grateful for a chance to repent. And honestly, I’m sure she will suceed.
And one last thing:
Elphaba: I only wish...
Fiyero: What?
Elphaba: Glinda could know that we're alive.
Fiyero: She can't know, not if we want to be safe. No one can ever know.
I know a lot of people take ire with this line. But Fiyero, always the best strategist of the group, is right. The last time Glinda was trusted with important information it led to a death and two more people nearly dying. She has not earned that trust yet.
But, remember, Glinda isn’t stupid, Glinda is in a position where she’s going to have to think more and more. Glinda has presumably seen her roommate get wet before, she saw Fiyero’s reaction to the rumour, no matter how much searching happens Fiyero’s body never turns up, how long is it really going to take for her to connect the dots? Sure “Glinda can never know” for sure, but she sure as hell can be comforted by the fact she’s almost certain her best friend did not melt from a bucket of water.
#wicked#wicked meta#Glinda#wicked movie#wicked musical#I feel like Gelphie shippers might be mad#but it's not that I don't like her character#she's a facinating and deep character#she's just a pretty bad person for a lot of the show#but not irredeemable#Fiyero in contrast makes decisions to be on the right side once he has the chance#Fiyeraba works because Fiyero supports Elphaba and cares for the same cause#galinda

𝔀𝓸𝓾𝓵𝓭 𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝓯𝓪𝓵𝓵 𝓲𝓷 𝓵𝓸𝓿𝓮 𝔀𝓲𝓽𝓱 𝓶𝓮 𝓪𝓰𝓪𝓲𝓷?
pairing: elphaba thropp x glinda upland word count: 808 warnings: none summary: glinda sees her wife again after so long being apart but elphaba feels she doesn't deserve her love. (inspired by "would you fall in love with me again" from epic the musical)
Elphaba had changed in a way that she wouldn't want, Glinda thought.
The one she had known at Shiz was not the same as the Elphaba that was standing before her. Her eyes bore the horrors of the cruelty and harshness of their world. Shoulders slumped as the weight of her own expectations pulled her down to a void of neverending disappointments and losses.
And yet, she was still Elphie. Her Elphie.
The girl who cared about animals more than anyone would ever do. Who braved the mocking eyes of their peers as she moved to her own beat in the Ozdust Ballroom. Who fought against the true wicked of Oz, something she hadn't muster to do.
"You look different. You're eyes look tired." She tried to make it sound like teasing but her emotions betrayed her. Glinda took a deep breath. "Your frame is lighter. Your smile torn."
Elphaba looked away. Somehow that hurt more than the long period they had spent away from each other.
"Is it really you, my love?" Glinda reached out her hand, gently resting them on the girl's shoulder.
She thanked the heavens that Elphaba didn't flinch away from her touch. She didn't think she would survive that. Glinda needed her warmth, to wrap her arms around her and never let go. But Elphie needed space and she would give anything to her.
"I am not the woman you fell in love with. Not the girl you once adored," Elphaba muttered. "I am not your kind and gentle wife, and I am not the love you knew before."
Glinda felt her arms weakening at the loss of wamrth when Elphaba moved across the room. The light from the large, circular window had made the woman's tears sparkle as they fell. Needles pricked her heart at the sight of them. Elphie was hurting herself because of her, she thought. Fearing that her wife was burning her cheeks with her own tears.
Before she could rush to wipe them away, Elphaba spoke, "Would you fall in love with me again if you knew all I've done?"
Yes, she wanted to say. But Elphaba continued, "The things I cannot change. Would you love me all the same? I know that you've been waiting for love."
Nothing was ever going to be more true than the love she had for her. Not even the Wizard could find a spell to change that. In this room, where Elphaba was closer than she had ever been, she wasted no more time and walked to where the woman stood.
Glinda gently lifted her face and smiled. "Don't cause yourself pain over me," She said, wiping the tears away before they could burn her even more. "And don't cry. It blurs my view of your eyes."
For every night she longed for her Elphie to be beside her, to tangle her arms around her frame and feel her warmth, and for every time a fire ingnited in her chest when an Ozian would make a hurtful remark about her wife, she thought as she pressed her lips against Elphaba's. Every second of it engraved in her mind to look back on for years to come.
They pulled away, gasping for air that they didn't need when they were in each others arms. Elphaba was holding on to her, keeping her as close as their bodies would allow, and that was enough.
Glinda tucked a piece of hair behind the woman's ear. "I will fall in love with you, over and over again. I don't care how, where, or when. No matter how long it's been, you're mine." She confessed, blinking away the tears that blurred her vision. She needed to see the face of her love clearly.
"Don't tell me you're not the same person. You're always my wife and I've been waiting for you." Glinda cried, clutching the hem of Elphaba's dress tightly. Don't leave me, she thought. As long as you're here, I'll be fine.
For some reason, it felt like they were saying goodbye. Not like the one they shared at the tower of the Wizard's castle. This one felt final, like she was never seeing her again.
Glinda shook her head. No, it wasn't. They were going to make things right and tell the people the truth. Perhaps then, everyone would know that Elphaba wasn't the wicked one and they could be in each other's arms for all eternity. No more fleeing and hiding.
But even if Elphie were to flee once more, she would join her. Damn the consequences. Yes, she would not repeat the same mistake she had done in the Emerald City.
As she pulled Elphaba closer, she forgot about the farm girl that was trapped beneath them nor did she notice the bucket of water hidden at the edge of the room.

"EVERY TIME YOU CLOSE YOUR EYES . . ."
" PROLOGUE "
FEATURING Elphaba & Fiyero (glinda for a small moment!) GENRE angst but some fluff as well. after saving the lion cub, Fiyero and Elphaba share an unexpected romantic moment that leaves him feeling happy but Elphie confused and guilty.
Series list here !!
warnings: small mention of blood, also has dialogue from the movie so it has some spoilers. Also pls do not steal or copy my work, reblogs are v appreciated tho 🫶🏻
“Well someone’s got to do something!” A moment of disbelief and anger is all it was, Elphaba couldn’t believe how obedient and close minded her classmates were. Although she was not friends with the majority of them, Elphie never intended to put them all to sleep with the freshly picked poppies she had gathered that afternoon before class had started. She knew they were her teacher’s, Dr. Dillamond, favorite. He had truly been her one of only friend since her arrival at Shiz. The polen began to take effect as everyone including the staff were fast asleep. She assumed to be the only one awake, giving her the perfect opportunity to free the poor lion cub trapped in the cage, “What is happening?” A voice questioned, making Elphie slightly jump and look to her right. Prince Fiyero, shiz’s new student as well as Glinda’s boyfriend. He was charming, but also self-centered, shallow and slightly irritating. He caught Glinda before her head slammed on the table, “I don’t know, I-I just got mad an-” Elphie cut herself off as he approached the caged lion cub, “Fiyero what are you doing?” She questioned with anger, ready to use her powers again if needed. The prince, carefully as he could, scooped the cub into his uniform blazer, to hide and keep him warm, “Well, are you coming?” He questioned before running out of the lecture room, leaving Elphaba surprised for a few moments before following behind.
The two rushed out to the woods just outside the school grounds, going in far enough to not be noticed by administration, “Here” Elphaba offered, scooping the lion from the prince, “I don’t mean to scare you” She spoke softly, placing him on the ground near a pond, petting him softly with a small yet worried smile, “Why is it you are always causing some sort of commotion?” The prince breaks her away from the cub, fixing his cuff buttons after just taking off his uniform blazer, “I don’t cause commotions, I am one” Elphie replied, still facing the pond, “Yeah, well that’s for sure” He adds. Elphaba narrowed her eyes, yes maybe here at Shiz she hadn’t made a great impression on everyone, but she would not let anyone, especially some stuck up prince, tell her she’s wrong. Elphaba has always stood up for what she believed in, even if the whole world was against her, “So you think I should just keep my mouth shut, is that what you’re saying?” “What? no, no I’m saying-” “You think I want to be this way? You think I want to care this much?” The prince tried to find a moment to speak but she wouldn’t allow it, “I know my life would be much easier if I didn’t care about-” “You ever let anyone else talk?” Fiyero chuckles in disbelief, the two now fully facing each other, “Sorry” She apologizes, used to being so defensive. The two bickered for a few more moments before sitting by the pond, facing their attention back to the lion cub. The small animal was much more calm now, breathing in the forest air and refreshing water, he purred softly when Elphaba drew the back of her finger softly across his fur, becoming more comfortable with her by the minute.
“What did you mean to do back there? And why was I the only one you didn’t do it too?” The prince broke the comforting silence of the forest ambience with the question she feared he asked, because although she wasn’t entirely sure herself, a small sliver of her knew she felt something for him ever since they first met, in the forest after leaving Dr. Dillamond’s quarters, and thought perhaps that's why her magic did not affect him.
“Whoa there!” A male voice spoke, riding at high speed through the dark trees, making elphaba fall on the cold ground covered in leaves and dirt, “I did not see her” spoke the man’s horse, standing still as the man jumped off his horse to help, “Neither did I” He agreed with the mammal. The handsome male adjusted his suit before approaching, reassuring his horse that everything was fine, “So sorry miss, we didn’t see you there you must of . . . “ Elphaba, looking up and facing the man for the first time caught him a bit off guard, but she kept a straight face despite the fear of being trampled on still running through her veins, “. . . Blended with the foliage” “Is this how you go through life?” She is quick to respond “Just running a muck and trampling anyone in your path?” Her voice firm, but not loud.
The man was still stunned by her complexion but was still able to respond, “No” his eyes widened from the situation, taking a glance back at his horse before repeating himself, “Sometimes I’m asleep” A smug look on his face, having a lining of satire in his response. The two stare at each other for a moment, Elphaba clearly not finding joy in his words, “All right, here we go” She finally speaks, setting down her bag “No, I am not seasick” “Neither am I” “No, I did not eat grass as a child” “You didn’t? I did” “And yes, I have always been green” “And the defensiveness, is that a recent development?” His responses were lighthearted but to her cocky, it was interesting though, because no one has ever responded to her questions before, “Hm” was the last he heard from her before Elphaba turned to gather her belongings.
The man’s horse giggles at the situation, which the man can’t help but return a chuckle as well, but quickly cut himself off once he felt her eyes on him again. The man had this charming smolder on, feeling for a moment he be trying to seduce her, she laughed to herself on the inside knowing it was not true. No one has ever or will ever look at her that way, she is not the girl who gains a loving attention from anyone. In this case though she was completely wrong, his gaze was not judgmental but fascinated instead. After looking back one more time, she continued on her original path back to the school grounds, “I’m off for some more trampling, may we offer you a ride?” He asks but she keeps walking to no avail, “No thanks, get stuffed” Her response cold. “Wow” The guy says to himself. In his past whenever he’s ran into a maiden they usually woo over him, he was so used to gaining attention from the female eyes that he never thought there’d every be a day when on rejects him, “Fesville, we have just been spared by a girl” “Indeed” the horse replies.
Elphaba wasn’t sure what this feeling was, it was different, something she had never felt before which was intriguing but terrifying “You’re bleeding” she finally responds, deflecting from his question in order not to let her true feelings slip out, “I’m not” as his eyes trained on the stream of water before meeting hers, Elphie's hand comes up ever so delicately making Fiyero slightly flinch, not in fear of disgust, but because he secretly deep down felt the same thing for Elphaba and knew feeling her touch who just feed more into his temptation, “There” Her fingers lightly grazes the freshly cut scab, trying not to make him wince as his eyes met her, confusion on his face but his heart burning from the inside out, “I must of scratched you” Her hand resting on his cheek, the feeling so nice and loving that he hesitated to pull it away.
It was wrong, he realized that, but he couldn’t deny this feeling any longer, he couldn't deny the somersaults his stomach did whenever she was near him. Certainly at first glance it was shocking to see a green-colored woman as they are not very common, but then he noticed the soft glint in her eyes, how her beautiful braided hair laid upon her shoulder, and damn he’d be lying if he didn't find her stubbornness hot. From the moment they met he knew how defensive she was, it was attractive to say the least but made him sad, angry, that someone could be treated so foul their whole life that every new interaction is started with an explanation for her complexion.
But no longer, no longer would he hold himself back from letting her know how special she truly was, the restraints placed upon his heart by society were becoming undone. “You're beautiful” The prince spoke softly before closing the space between them, his hand now cupping her cheek and the other her waist, dipping her body over the pond, but held her firmly enough so that she wouldn't fall in, and before she could resist, his lips were already on her’s. He was so gentle, so sweet, she hated how he acted so shallow and self-centered because she knew that deep down he was more than just a prince, he had a heart and feelings too, and perhaps he wasn't book smart but nonetheless he still cared deeply for others and apparently the animals too, just like her. It pains her to realize the people in his life treated him more as a trophy than just a human. Her mind became cleared from her thoughts as Fiyero deepened the kiss, his tongue asking for permission. Elphaba hesitated at first but soon allowed herself to give into temptation. So soft, his lips, they were so soft she only hoped he thought the same of her’s. Elphaba wanted him, she wanted more, but instead she opened her eyes and pushed him away.
Glinda was her friend, her new best friend, and although they had a rough start, she was the only person who has ever saw Elphaba for her true self, she was kind, loving and perhaps a bit ditzy but overall more caring than others may realize, she couldn’t betray her like this, how could she after all Glinda has done, “Oh Miss Elphaba, you’re beautiful” the wholesome memory playing through her mind of the two looking in Glinda’s vanity mirror, the blonde bombshell placing light pink rose behind Elphie’s ear, her words mimicking Fiyero’s statement from before “Stop!” Elphaba shouted unintentionally, trying to shut out the thoughts running through her mind. After snapping, she realized that the motion made her push Fiyero forcefully with her magic, “I-I” Her voice lost as her throat became dry, struggling to find the words, “I-I’m sorry” She gasped out of breath before running off back to the courtyard.
Why? When she had just gained a true authentic friendship, why must she go mess it up. She shouldn’t have touched him, maybe if she explains to Glinda what happened maybe she’ll understand, “Elphie!” A sweet familiar voice called out from the fountain located in the middle of the courtyard, “Elphie wait!” Glinda rushes to her friend, “What happened? In the lecture room? Where’s Fiyero?” The questions making Elphaba’s head reel as the guilt began to rush over her again, “I have to go, s-sorry” Her words quick and short before running off. It made Glinda worry, for Fiyero of course but mostly for her friend, she looked pale if even possible and practically sick to her stomach. She looked back towards the direction of her friend but was pulled from her thoughts by Fiyero, “There you are darling, finally decided to wake and bless us with your beauty huh?” Adjusting the buttons on his blazer, acting casual as if nothing had happened.
All well Elphaba never stopped running. She was uncertain of where to go, her bed wasn't an option as her and Glinda shared a room, and the library and diner were usually crowded by this hour. The only other place she could think of was the garden located in the back of the school, where she had met with Madame Morrible on her first day, there she would be able to sort out her thoughts and process the previous events that occurred just moments ago. There was no way Prince Fiyero felt the same right? He couldn't, he'd be blind to choose an outcast over the most popular girl at Shiz. Elphaba sat by the water thinking it was a mistake, a heat of the moment kind of thing and nothing more, after all she is not the kind of girl that ever gets the boy.

Born wicked(my thoughts/ analysis on wicked)
Hello everyone! So a couple of days back I asked if yall would like my thoughts on Wicked and alot of you said yess sooo here we are. Now before we start i do wanna say i will also be doing an analysis in this post. Because as someone who has spent years in the hannibal fandom i have had multiple conversations with people about the analysis of the show so of course i have to bring that into this post so let’s begin and hopefully you guys enjoy!.
I first remember watching the movie, it had such a great first impression on me, i’ve seen alot of musical movies and this one was of my favorite movie musicals i’ve seen.
It has so much depth and deep meaning to it and after learning more about it im genuinely so impressed by how they did this movie, there are four scenes in the movie that kind show how much detail they put into this movie.
1. Is elphie and Glinda first meeting and glinda saying she doesn’t care what people think and elphie calling her out saying yes you do.
2. Which goes into scene two where we get the OZdust scene where when everyone is watching Elphie dance we see feiryo say “she doesn’t care what people think “ and glinda says “yes she does “
This is one of my all time favorite parallels because of multiple reasons, in several instances throughout the movie we see how much Glinda does definitely care what people think specially while at shiz everyone loves her, she has two people who follow her everywhere and specially because in the scene where Glinda is getting ready for the OZdust scene and the Hat is brought out and one of her friends point out how it’s “ugly “ she is suddenly trying to find an excuse as to why she has it.
Elphie reasons is so completely different, she always been over looked specially by her family, and the only way she really got attention was when she was supposed to look over NessaRoes. Then she gets to Shiz and suddenly all eyes are on her, but for the wrong reasons and along with the “wizard and i” scene, in the song we hear what Elphie truly dreams of and how desperately she wishes to be seen, how she wants to do good and how she wishes people could look past her green skin and genuinely see the good person she is.
Thats where we get back to the OZdust ball room scene and we get to the dance scene, and in that scene we start to see where Glinda and Elphie kinda don’t care what people think. Specially Glinda, this is one scene where she truly doesn’t care this one time even when her friends try and stop her and she still does the dance anyway.
Next is the defying gravity scene and the deleted scene where Elphie promises to not leave Glinda behind again.
In the defying gravity scenes we see them fighting and we saw them almost escaping together. Elphie kept her promise…till Glinda was the one we broke it, she couldn’t go with Elphaba and she had her reasons, we can speculate those and why she didn’t go. But in the end it was Glinda who broke that promise.
Those are just four scenes that add (and would add) so much depth to the movie, I genuinely love everything about it from the acting to the little details, specially the shoes that nessa gets at the beginning of the movie, in the original book the shoes weren’t red they were silver and I loved how they showed both pairs of shoes.
I also loved how even the second time you watch it you catch more than the first time you watched it. The movie has so much emotion and love put into it as well as thought, i also loved how they sung live, it makes the movie feel more real.
I genuinely felt it was a smart decision todo such a thing, and in all honesty I don’t think it would’ve done so well if they hadn’t of sung live. Of course they would’ve done amazing but not like they would have of they hadn’t of sung live.
So inclusion, this movie has a genuine 10/10 from me and one of my favorite 2024 movies, now that it’s out on streaming I would give it watch again (which i will be doing) and I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in it.

Character ask: Fiyero and Boq (Wicked)
I'm not really a die-hard Wicked fan, but here goes. This is for the musical only, since I haven't read the novel.
Warning: spoilers below.
Fiyero
Favorite thing about them: That despite seeming like a silly playboy at first, he proves to be a kindred sprit to Elphaba, who loves and respects her as she is, who tries to help and defend her when no one else in Oz is willing to do so, and who ultimately sacrifices everything for her, even (nearly) his life.
Least favorite thing about them: That he leads Glinda on by not breaking up with her even as he starts to fall for Elphaba, and then goes along with their engagement even though he doesn't want to marry her. He should have ended things between them long before it reached that point.
Three things I have in common with them:
*I can be snarky.
*I dislike fakeness and selling out.
*I can seem like just a fun-lover, but really I think and feel deeply.
Three things I don't have in common with them:
*I'm female.
*I'm not royalty.
*I was never a partying troublemaker in college.
Favorite line: His joke when Elphaba tells him she realizes he's not as shallow and self-absorbed as he seems:
"Excuse me, there's no pretense here: I happen to be genuinely self-absorbed and deeply shallow."
And these lines from his dialogue with Glinda at the beginning of Act II, where he calls her out on her tragic flaw of choosing fame and popularity over everything else:
"You can't leave because you can't resist this. And that is the truth."
And when she objects that no one could resist it: "You know who could. Who has."
brOTP: His horse Feldspur in the movie, and probably Boq, especially if we keep the Scarecrow and Tin Man's friendship in mind. Not to mention Dorothy, even though their interactions are kept offstage.
OTP: Elphaba.
nOTP: Glinda.
Random headcanon: Hmmm... In the movie, he really did eat grass as a child. He's not just joking when he says he did.
Unpopular opinion: I like him better than Glinda as a romantic partner for Elphaba. Of course I understand that Elphaba and Glinda's bond is more central and more fleshed out, I see the appeal of Gelphie as a ship, and I know how much Gelphie means to countless fans. But personally? Without denying Glinda's importance to Elphaba, I prefer Fiyero as her love interest. He embraces her values and comes through for her in a way that Glinda only does at the very end, and no attempts I've read by Gelphie shippers to dismiss that fact ring true for me. As a couple, Fiyeraba reminds me in many ways of Esmeralda and Phoebus in Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame (these Stephen Schwartz musicals have recurring themes!), and I don't see many fans putting down that pairing, even though they're a bit underdeveloped too, and even though Esmeralda's friendship with Quasimodo is more central to the plot. On the contrary, the fans hold up their love as the main example of healthy love in that story! Besides, if we don't think Elphaba really loves Fiyero, then "No Good Deed" loses its power. If he's just "comphet" to her, why should his apparent death break her so much that she resolves to really be wicked and kidnaps Dorothy? And the reveal that he's still alive is what snaps her out of her breakdown and lets her reconcile with Glinda in the end. I have nothing against shipping Gelphie, but I can't dismiss Fiyeraba as just "boring comphet" the way most of the fandom seems to do.
Song I associate with them: "Dancing Through Life"
youtube
"As Long as You're Mine"
youtube
Favorite picture of them:
Norbert Leo Butz
Aaron Tveit
Andy Karl
Derrick Williams with Stephanie J. Block (more actors of color should play the role)
Adam Garcia with Idina Menzel
Jonathan Bailey in the movie
Boq
Favorite thing about them: Well, when we first meet him at least, he's a sweet, adorkable character, and if the Tin Man we know from The Wizard of Oz is a mostly accurate portrait of how he behaves on his journey with Dorothy, he never really loses those qualities.
Least favorite thing about them: First that he leads Nessarose on (a recurring flaw among the young men in this story, it seems) and lies about why he asked her out, even if his reason is to avoid hurting her. And later, of course, that he becomes such a bloodthirsty witch hunter, out to kill Elphaba for turning him into tin even though she saved his life by doing so.
Three things I have in common with them:
*I can be socially awkward.
*I'm not always good at standing up for myself.
*Sometimes I want to blame people for doing things that made me uncomfortable, when really those things were good for me.
Three things I don't have in common with them:
*I'm female.
*I've never had any romantic entanglements with witches.
*I've never been turned into tin.
Favorite line: His verse in "March of the Witch Hunters," even though it's his darkest moment:
And this is more than just a service to the Wizard I have a personal score to settle with El... With The Witch!
It's due to her I'm made of tin Her spell made this occur So for once, I'm glad I'm heartless I'll be heartless killing her!
And the Lion also has a grievance to repay If she'd let him fight his own battles When he was young He wouldn't be a coward, today!
brOTP: In the Shiz days before things go bad, Fiyero, Nessarose, Elphaba and Glinda (especially in the deleted scene from the movie that shows them all hanging out together). And after he becomes the Tin Man, Dorothy.
OTP: None.
nOTP: Nessarose or Glinda.
Random headcanon: When he sees Elphaba "melt," he'll be unexpectedly horrified; he'll find himself remembering their days at Shiz and the girl she once was, and realize that seeing her die horribly doesn't feel as good as he thought it would. (I'm basing this on the Tin Man's close-to-tears face after the Witch melts in the 1939 Wizard of Oz: we'll see if Wicked: For Good has Ethan Slater react in a similar way or not.)
Unpopular opinion: Even though he's far from blameless, nothing justifies Nessarose stripping him and all the other Munchkins of their rights and forcing him to stay with her, then trying to magically brainwash him into loving her. He may deserve some karma for lying about his feelings for her, but he doesn't deserve all that.
Song I associate with them:
His part in "Dancing Through Life"
youtube
"March of the Witch Hunters"
youtube
Favorite picture of them:
Christopher Fitzgerald
Riley Costello
Ethan Slater in the movie

Love wicked, but-
I do wonder why they cut the lines from Boq from the Broadway part-
Like at the train scene when they're wishing Elphaba luck and they're all talking, and Glinda says "Something, something, right Biq?" "It's BOQ!"
and he leaves in a huff? And then Nessarose also rolls away in a huff, and when Elphie see's how Glinda is losing her shit over changing her name and (this still makes me laugh) takes Glinda with her to see the wizard...instead of her sister- wow. Anyway the whole "it's BOQ!" part in the play is a parralel to Glinda giving Dilamond problems with the pronouciation of HER name. She puts so much importance on it and even CHANGES her name showing she's thinking about it but can't quite give people the same common courtesy.
Not only that but getting his name wrong when at this stage they're all close hanging out- they're not strangers she should get his name right!
Like imagine being invisible, Mr cellophane over here.
And yet you can't force peoples feelings and thats the side plot to Wicked that I thought was interesting. Glinda doesn't owe Boq anything. However Boq doesn't owe Nessarose anything.
You can't FORCE love.
Its also a PARRALEL!
That how Fieryo gets engaged to make Glinda happy, but she doesn't own his heart. Same as how Boq is forced (BY LAW so he doesn't even have a CHOICE) is forced to be with Nessarose and this miscommunication whereas Nessarose is maniplating and taking away Munchkin rights is trying to cage Boq alongside her and keep him close.
But he just thinks she needs disability support. It does create the (Eh its albliest depending) on her being able to walk. The reason I personally don't believe this is abliest is that helping Nessarose so she can walk again DOES NOT FIX ANYTHING.
Because the Wheelchair wasn't the problem.
In movies when they 'cure' a disability' the characters life is fixed, they get the happily ever after but in the case of Nessarose fixing her disability did NOTHING.
Boq still didn't love her, at this point any feelings he had jas turned into resentment he see's her as a cruel person whose just a dictator.
Wheel chair or no, Nessa sucks.
However Boq LIKE Glinda is very callous of their feelings unlike Glinda who gets Fieryo, Boq only used Nessa as a rebound when he saw the two kissing and instead was leading Nessarose on when he never really liked her that way. He could've walked away at any time but 'didn't but when Glinda was about to be engaged THEN he decided to act. He was a coward and used Nessa until he finally decided to do something which was cruel and wicked in itself.
So the whole, Boq is callous and wicked himself moments and something as simple as a line such as.
"IT's BOQ!" it dominoed reactions. This highlighted that Boq wants to be seen by Glinda, it shows to Nessarose that Boq was bothered more by Glinda and that she herself is aware that Boq loves Glinda.
It's why when he says "I lost my heart to Glinda, Nessa you know that."
However in the movie that line was CUT.
Instead he's cheering Glinda on for her name change, then shakes Nessarose fathers hand.
The movie made changes, (for the better and fleshed out stories) And I do wonder if in the second part with this line change, if that means the Wicked Witch of the East is going to play differently because of it.

THOUGHTS ON THE WICKED MOVIE (a week late bc I was busy on opening weekend)
-The soundtrack was AMAZING. LOVED IT. Cynthia and Ariana are both such amazing singers so not really a surprise but still very much appreciated.
-I enjoyed the scenes of Elphaba's childhood, thought they were a nice touch (esp. the bear nanny)
-Cynthia's Elphaba definitely comes across a bit more level headed. She still obviously has moments where she loses control but the moments in the muscial where she just gets angry and no magic happens (like the whole 'no I'm not seasick' bit) are definitely much more subdued. I'm assuming it's mainly bc film acting tends to be more toned down in general. I don't necessarily prefer one way of doing the scene over the other, just thought it was notable.
-Popular was INCREDIBLE. I loved it so, so much. I loved how I could see so many similarities with various performances of the musical I've seen (like Glinda face planting on the bed reminded me of Alli Mauzey) but also it felt original to the film. Also, thoroughly homosexual.
-The Ozdust scene was great. Especially love how they somehow made it even gayer by having Glinda leave with Elphaba instead of going back to dancing with Fiyero.
-Glinda in general was perfect. They nailed the act one energy so well. All the little lines they added fit her so well. I honestly still have a hard time looking at movie Glinda and not just seeing Ariana Grande, but I don't think that has anything to do with the performance. My only complaint was that I needed her to look a little bit more heartbroken and tortured during NOMTW because I enjoy making myself sad. (/hj)
-I do still mourn the loss of Glinda's muscial costumes. I wish she was allowed more than a tiny sliver of the colour wheel to choose from. The costumes are gorgeous, I just wish there was more colour variation. That being said, I did love Elphaba's costumes.
-I really wish they had given Ariana Grande the stupid ringlets for the bubble dress. Partly because I just enjoy them, but also I think the different hairstyle is a really easy way to show that a significant amount of time has passed even though the actress looks otherwise the same.
-I loved the Kristin and Idina cameo. It felt like such a nice nod to the musical without wearing out it's welcome
-I really loved the little parts of for good in the background during couple of scenes. Still upset I have to wait until next year for the full version
-Fiyero is more likable, but I honestly think I preferred when he was more of an asshole initially bc it gives his character more room to grow (but let's be real I don't give a shit about Fiyero I'm just here for Gelphie/j)
-They seem to be doing more to set up Fiyeraba in general, but it's not at the expense of Gelphie so I'll allow it
-I didn't hate the CGI Animals as much as I thought I would
-I miss Dr Dillamond eating paper. It was a good bit

Melting Fears
Elphaba x Glinda
Warning(s): Angst, fluff, comfort tckling!
Word count: 2.9k
Summary/Prompt: Elphaba’s fears are catching up to her and she seeks Glinda’s comfort in the middle of the night.
A/N: YO it’s 1:30AM!! This was inspired by my wicked hc I have where Elphaba does in fact pay Glinda at least one secret visit after she becomes a fugitive, of course Glinda hides her. It’s not specified how long it’s been between the end of Act 1 and the start of Act 2 but I suspect it’s about 5 years or more. This is set somewhere just after the end of act 1. Also they haven’t yet confessed their undeniable yet suppressed feelings for each other and so they’re still best friends! Two oblivious witches 😭
⋆ ━━━━━━━ ༺❀༻ ━━━━━━━━ ⋆
Rumors and gossip traveled fast in Oz. Despite being in hiding Elphaba had become painfully aware of all the horrible things that were said about her as well as the various ways they wanted to kill her.
She had acted tough when she’d chosen to leave, claiming that no one would ever bring her down. But of course there came a time when all the pressure got too much to bear. In between her time flying around and helping out the Animals keep their voices in exchange for food and shelter she’d spent too many sleepless nights meddling over every word spoken about her, fighting to keep herself from giving into believing them. She’d find herself fearing they would be successful in their search and capture her. It brought on this constant exhausting weight in her chest that never seemed to ease.
She needed to find solace.
So, during a cold darkened night Elphaba slipped out of the den where a family of foxes had given her a place to stay for the past week. She wrapped her black cloak around herself as she mounted her broom and launched into the starry sky, wincing at the burning sensation of the wintry night air as it blew against her face. She flew off in the direction of Emerald City where she knew her one and only friend lived.
When she finally reached the city’s borders, Elphaba remained high, using the night sky as cover and hoping the moonlight would make her green skin blend with the palace. She was aware that Glinda had been moved there after she’d been appointed to help the Wizard. Fiyero had been promoted to Captain of the Guard and tasked with finding the Wicked Witch of the West but Elphaba didn’t know that part.
Elphaba took precautions to avoid being detected by the flying monkeys that she was sure would be guarding the city. She eventually came to a stop by the shimmering emerald green palace, hovering her broom next to a window hesitant to make another move. Even though she had scouted out Glinda’s room she was starting to think that this was a terrible idea until the latch clicked and the window opened.
“Elphie?!” The blonde witch gasped quietly, looking understandably surprised by the unexpected arrival of her best friend.
Neither of them broke the other’s gaze. It had been only five months since Elphaba had left and they hadn’t seen each other since.
Elphaba released one hand from the broom to give a shy wave. “Hi Glinda,” she murmured before looking down to the terrifying drop below then behind her before finally returning her gaze back over to Glinda with a slight look of desperation. If the flying monkeys flew by they’d surely recognise her and sound the alarm.
Glinda’s surprised expression quickly turned to fear. “What are you doing here? Someone might discoverate you!” She whispered frantically.
“Exactly, so let me in,” Elphaba hissed impatiently.
The blonde haired girl looked over her shoulder quickly and then stepped aside to allow Elphaba to climb in safely. She then shut the window and closed the blinds while Elphaba dusted off her black cloak and put her broom next to the window in case she needed a quick get away. Glinda turned to her. She was wearing a blue nightgown and the expression on her face was already filled with questions.
“Look I know, I know I’m not meant to be here I just—“ Elphaba began to explain, but was cut off when Glinda wrapped her arms around her in a big and warm hug.
Glinda wasn’t much of a hugger and hadn’t ever been good with expressing physical affection towards anyone. She’d only expressed her affections towards Fiyero, but over the past year he’d grown distant. When it came to Elphaba, Glinda had learnt earlier in their school life that she responded best to comforting forms of physical touch since she’d never received much when she was a child.
Elphaba melted almost immediately into the embrace. Still, her heart was pounding and she was trying her absolute best to fight off the urge to cry but her eyes were welling with tears already. Her hands were subconsciously trembling from the anxiety that was coursing through her. A shaky breath escaped her and Glinda must have noticed it because she pulled back a little to look at her.
“Are you okay, Elphie?” Glinda asked quietly, concern coating her eyes while her arms still wrapped around her waist.
That was all it took for the green girl to break down in tears, slowly sinking to the floor as if losing all energy to hold herself up. She’d been repressing all her emotions for the sake of remaining strong for herself. But now within the presence of her one and only friend she could finally give into the pain.
Glinda pulled her into another hug, following her down. “Oh Elphie.” She whispered as she held her tightly and rubbed soothing circles on her back to try and calm her while Elphaba sobbed her heart out.
They sat there together for a good five minutes before Elphaba could finally manage a coherent sentence. “I—I can’t…can’t do…do this anymore,” she whimpered, voice cracking between sobs. “I’m s—so tired of running and being so scared all the time.”
It broke Glinda’s heart. She squeezed her a little tighter and kissed her forehead. She couldn’t ask her to go home. Everyone in Oz would kill her the moment she stepped outside and there was no way she could stay and hide out here, she’d surely be discovered.
“I know,” was all she could whisper. “But…you have too.”
It was the hard truth. Elphaba knew that.
After a few minutes, she pulled away, sniffled and wiped her eyes as she tried to recompose herself. “I’m sorry for throwing this on you so late at night. I just…I needed to see you.”
Glinda placed her hands on Elphaba’s shoulders and softly locked her gaze onto hers. “No no don’t do that, don’t apologise! I’m glad you’re here. Truth is I…missed you.”
This brought a small smile to Elphaba’s tear stained face. Glinda slowly helped her stand back up before she skipped over to her queen sized bed and leapt on. She looked over at Elphaba expectantly as she gave the empty spot beside her a pat.
Elphaba hesitated for a brief second before making her way over to the bed and climbing on. She sat in a way that gave her quick access to leap off. It was a habit that came with her paranoia. But now in a calmer and more present state she was able to take a second to admire Glinda’s enormous room. As expected it was very pink. There was a fireplace and a desk with books scattered over it and shelves that contained various knickknacks.
“You’ve scored the jackpot Glinda,” she said once she’d eventually turned her attention onto her best friend.
Glinda giggled and nodded in agreement. “Of course I have, it’s me!”
Elphaba looked down at her slightly trembling hands as her smile faded. She couldn’t help but feel a pang of jealousy towards her. She was aware that Glinda was not to blame but seeing what she’d gotten out of the situation made her realise that the hole she had dug herself into meant that everything she had ever dreamt of was so far out of reach it was untouchable.
Her expression must have been easily noticeable because Glinda frowned and turned her body, simply staring at her as if she was trying to read her mind.
Feeling eyes upon her, Elphaba quickly looked up. “What?” She asked almost defensively.
“Nothing, you’ve just…changed.”
“Well can you blame me? All of Oz is out to melt me with a bucket of water because apparently I’m an evil witch with an impure soul,” she spat. An ember briefly sparked deep within her and she glaring so hard that her eyes would have burnt holes in the bed if they could.
Glinda fell silent. She’d had to deal with hearing everyone around her shout horrible things about her best friend. Every word had been like knives to her heart especially since she knew first hand that none of what they said was even remotely true. It hurt even more that to keep up an appearance she had to agree with them. “You’re not evil Elphie.”
Elphaba could feel tears brimming once again and she looked away. Glinda let out a quiet sigh. This was not how she’d hoped their reunion would be like. All of a sudden, an idea struck her and she sat up with a sly grin. She very gently poked the green witch’s side to test the waters, pulling away quickly when Elphaba flinched and gasped quietly in response to the familiar sensation.
“What was that for?” Her eyes had snapped around to see Glinda’s shimmering with excitement.
“You might have changed, but surely your ticklishness has not.” The look in the blonde’s eyes was terrifyingly devious.
Elphaba’s own eyes widened and she gulped. She abandoned any previous thoughts to make an escape but Glinda was ahead of her. She gently pushed her back up against the headboard, straddled her and placed her hands so they were already hovering just above her sides.
During their time together at school Glinda had discovered Elphaba’s little secret during a lesson about being popular. Well it had been less a secret and more of a surprise to Elphaba since she’d never experienced physical touch in such a playful manner. No one had ever wanted to get close enough to her, and if they had it had not been to show any form of affection or comfort. Glinda had become the first person to truly help Elphaba understand that physical contact could in fact be kind, love-filled or even playful. Hence hugs being one of her favourite forms of affection that she received.
“W-Wait, Glinda, do you t-think this is a good idea?” Elphaba stammered, not even moving to try and stop her.
“Don’t worry, my room is soundproof,” Glinda murmured, “so no one will hear us and no one will find you. I promise you’re safe with me Elphie.” She wriggled her fingers teasingly without touching her.
Elphaba was already squirming with anticipation and she couldn’t stop the nervous giggles from streaming out of her mouth. Her cheeks had already heated up to a dark green and she was biting her lip to try to suppress her giggles.
“It’s been years since I’ve gotten to hear you laugh, Elphie.”
“Oh come on you don’t have to be so dramat—” she began but was quickly cut off when Glinda dug her fingers into her sides, drawing out a rather sharp and high-pitched shriek. She hadn’t chosen to go easy on her.
Glinda dragged her fingers up to her ribs and skittered them and then spidered back down where she danced along her stomach. Elphaba let out a series of snorts in between her cackling laughter while her hands frantically tried to grab the blonde’s wrists to no avail.
“Sweet Oz, Elphie I forget how ticklish you are,” Glinda teased, earning a deeper green blush from the witch as she covered her eyes in embarrassment.
Elphaba yelped when Glinda reached back and squeezed her knee. She then traveled up to her neck, giving it a light scratch where she got a squeal from her best friend as she scrunched up her face and raised her shoulders. But she wasn’t done.
“Glinda, please!!” Elphaba whined, but she made little to no effort to push her off when she was very capable of doing so.
She suddenly threw her head back and let out what sounded like a howling-like screaming cackle as Glinda suddenly descended down upon a weak spot just below her ribs. It made Glinda recoil out of surprise. “That’s new.”
Elphaba looked genuinely shocked by her own reaction. She looked up at Glinda who tentatively tickled that spot again which received a similar response.
“Did I just discover a new secret ticklish spot?” Glinda asked, a twinkle of proudness in her eyes.
“G—Guess you did,” she breathed out, her cheeks flushed a deep green at the discovery.
“You are so adorable Elphie.”
If it was even possible Elphaba's ears and cheeks burned an even darker shade of green at the praise and she squirmed under her adoring gaze. Glinda finally decided to cease her attacks as she collapsed on top of Elphaba who instinctively slipped a free hand around her back to support her.
“I promise I’ll explore that spot more next time.”
This had Elphaba’s stomach fluttering with an anticipated excitement she’d never felt before which made her want to squirm. Like how you feel when you’re giddy. So instead she just bit her lip and nodded silently. She felt like she was melting in the best way.
“Are you feeling better now?” The blonde asked more softly, eyes still resting on her best friend.
Elphaba gave her another nod. She was exhausted and she could feel her eyes growing heavy but she wore a genuine yet gentle smile.
“Good.” Glinda gently scratched that spot just below her ribs one last time.
Elphaba jumped and let out a yelping squeal as uncontrollable giggles streamed back out of her mouth. She instinctively recoiled away as best she could but that proved to be near impossible with someone on top of her.
Glinda laughed softly at her reaction, booping her nose playfully. Elphaba gave her irresistible puppy eyes. “Okay okay I’m done,” she promised.
“You know Glinda…you’re very vulnerable laying on me like that.”
“Elphie—” Glinda warned but it wasn’t as intimidating as she’d hoped. It sounded a lot like a squeak.
Elphaba grinned and then dug her fingers into her best friend’s sides, wriggling them speedily just the way Glinda had taught her. High pitched giggles immediately poured out of the blonde witch and she attempted to roll out of Elphaba's embrace but she was trapped.
Unlike Glinda, Elphaba let up her revenge after only a minute, deciding to be a lot more merciful given the time of night. She allowed Glinda a moment to catch her breath before sitting up. Naturally, Glinda rolled off her and back onto her bed with a relieved sigh.
Elphaba glanced down at her best friend with a gentle smile, looking at her with nothing other than love. Glinda held her gaze and minutes of silence went by.
Eventually, Elphaba did break that silence. “How’s Fiyero?” She quietly asked. Her heart had longed to see that boy as much as it had wanted to see her friend.
“He’s…good, yeah very good in fact,” Glinda replied as she sat up with a bounce. She would have mentioned his most recent position, but since he’d been tasked with leading the hunt and capturing of Elphaba she decided it was best to leave that out so as not to scare her.
Elphaba smiled a little, nodding her head before lowering it slightly in thought. As long as he was happy and well that was all that mattered. She looked back up, meeting Glinda’s gaze but she wore a look that she couldn’t quite read.
“Forgive me for not asking earlier,” she took Glinda’s hands and smiled, “how are you?”
“Me? Oh I’m fabulous Elphie! Just…fabulous.” There was clear uncertainty in her last words despite her usual confident beaming smile.
Elphaba had hidden behind a smile more times than she could count to be able to see that her best friend was hiding something. She gave her an inquisitive look but was dismissed with a wave of the hand so she didn’t push it. Feeling the moment pass, Elphaba decided it was time to leave. She slid off Glinda’s bed. She knew that she couldn’t stay no matter how much they both wanted her too. She made her way over to her broom, pausing once she’d reached it.
“Oh and Glinda,” she spoke softly, looking back over at Glinda who’d gotten off the bed after her, “I missed you too.”
Their eyes remained locked for a second before Glinda closed the distance and pulled her into a final hug. “I love you Elphie.”
“I love you too.”
Their words were meant to be an exchange of their friendship or so that’s what they thought.
Elphaba reluctantly pulled away. “I must go,” she murmured, a small smile appearing briefly as she mounted her broom once Glinda had opened the window for her. “Thank you for tonight,” she whispered, “keep glamourfying Oz with your Goodness.”
The blonde wiped a tear from her cheek, letting out a gentle giggle at her words as she waved her hands to playfully shoo her out. Elphaba chuckled softly, tipped her black witch hat politely with a grin and turned to climb out the window. She paused one last time to glance over her shoulder at her best friend before she leapt out of the window. The broom dipped dramatically before it launched upwards and took off into the darkness of the beautiful starry sky. Glinda watched as her best friend’s silhouette flew across the full moon, the sound of her light cackly laughter echoed through the wind before she disappeared from sight.
“Of course I will, always. Goodness knows you keep defying gravity, Elphie.”

I'm concerned about Fiyero in Wicked: Part 2.
Some context: I have precisely three problems with Wicked the musical. The first is Elphaba surviving which is a cop-out, the second is Boq as the Tin Woodsman and Fiyero as the Scarecrow which is contrived and makes the setting feel too small, and the third and final is the character of Fiyero in general. Now, before you say it: no, it's not because he interferes with the Elphaba/Glinda ship. I refuse to dislike characters based on that, and he did the same thing in the Wicked book and I had no problems with him there. My issue with the musical version of Fiyero is simply that he is the only badly written character in the show.
Fiyero is introduced as a lazy, selfish, stupid, hedonistic trouble-maker. There is no hint that there's anything more to him than that. But then out of nowhere, he interacts with Elphaba for the first time in the whole scene with the lion cub, shows uncharacteristic kindness and concern, and as a result he and Elphaba develop instantaneous romantic feelings for one another....feelings they don't lose even when their next interaction is way later when Elphaba is about to leave for Emerald City, and their third interaction isn't until years later where upon re-meeting, Fiyero immediately betrays Oz to join Elphaba since he's been mooning over her for all this time despite being Glinda's boyfriend turned fiancé. Again: after only two direct interactions with her. His development is not at all believable, so I can't be invested in him.
So, imagine my surprise when I watched Wicked: Part 1 and...
They actually fixed him! Jonathan Bailey's version of the character in the movie has several differences to him that mends the problems I mentioned above. First off, he's introduced with an all-new interaction with Elphaba where instead of his carriage almost running her over while he's sleeping in it, he personally almost runs her over while riding his talking horse...a horse that he very clearly has a close, friendly relationship with. Then once he establishes himself at school, Bailey's performance makes it abundantly clear that he is acting the part of "lazy, selfish, stupid, hedonistic trouble-maker" rather than truly living it. He is afraid of the burdens of life that he learned through his royal upbringing and this is how he copes. It really becomes apparent with how he acts when getting together with Glinda - unlike the musical, there is no seemingly genuine attraction toward her; he knows that she's after him for his wealth and status and so his mindset is "She has zero expectations of me as a person whatsoever, ergo she's perfect girlfriend material for me! Here's to continuing to dance through life!" Finally, the whole lion cub incident is preceded by how visibly horrified he is by what happens to Doctor Dillamond, which links back to the dynamic he has with his horse: Fiyero clearly hasn't ever had an inkling of talking animals suffering prejudice since he's always considered the ones in his life to be equals, just as Elphaba has since she was raised by a talking bear. It is now this specific commonality that sparks romantic feelings in them, and him falling deeper in love with her over the years despite not interacting with her makes perfect sense since he'll have placed her on a pedestal of representing the future he also wants for the talking animals in Oz. Her fighting the Wizard for their sake is specifically what endears her to him, rather than "he falls in love with her because she's the main character and the plot says so even if that plot is wildly different from the book where it made sense".
So, what's the reason behind my concern for him in Wicked: Part 2? The other two issues I have with the musical, of course! I am still concerned that the movie will stick to the musical in turning him into the Scarecrow rather than killing him off, and that it also won't kill off Elphaba and send the two of them out of Oz together so that it can disingenuously paint it as Elphaba getting a happy ending. And no matter what, I insist that it's not. Elphaba has been cemented in the public consciousness of Oz as a villainous monster, even to the talking animals she was primarily fighting for. Her sister is still dead before she could ever reconcile with her, there's no chance of her and her biological father ever having a bond, and she can never see Glinda again. She has no idea what places lie beyond Oz or if she will even be welcomed there. And Fiyero is a goddamn scarecrow! He's made of straw, is constantly falling apart, and if the slightest spark touches him he'll probably die! I'm sorry, I just can't see their relationship lasting when he's in that condition, especially when we leave him off feeling pretty down about it even if he's grateful to even be alive at all. That is why, to be perfectly honest, I would rather the movie change it so that Fiyero and Elphaba die like they did in the original book....or, if I had to choose just one, that Fiyero die so that Elphaba leaves alone. Wicked is a family-friendly tragedy with a highly bittersweet ending, and it should own that.

Defying Gravity sounds tinny coming from the substandard speakers of your phone, but it doesn't stop your eyes from tearing up as the pixelated blobs of Glinda and Elphaba share their goodbyes and Oz's men storm onto stage to take the women into custody. You sniffle, and the arm wrapped around you tightens with a mechanical whine.
"Are you okay?" Sun's rays brush against your hair before withdrawing, allowing him to press his faceplate against you in a pantomime of a kiss.
You fumble to pause the video, nodding quickly. "Yeah, sorry. It's just a lot, you know?"
"I think so. Elphaba's lost everything, hasn't she?" Sun's faceplate remains in your hair, even when you nod. "It's her lowest moment."
"And her highest." It doesn't sound complete. "I think... maybe the worst part is she loses Glinda here."
"Ah."
When Sun goes quiet like this, you're not sure what to think, listening to the mechanicals working instead. A fan kicks on shortly before you are pulled wholesale into his lap. "Sun?"
"Was just thinking together." You can't see his face like this. His nose presses a hard line against the top of your head. "If we lost each other... or you. What it would feel like."
"That's not going to happen." You are squeezed, but you manage to free your arms enough to squeeze back. "You won't lose Moon, and you're both stuck with me."
"Even when you graduate?"
"Especially when I graduate." The tears are back, if for a different reason now. "I'm not going to leave you both here with nobody to properly take care of you except the DJ."
There's a chuckle that's decidedly more Moon than Sun. "Will you steal us away?"
"Yes," you say without hesitation. "If I have to leave, I will take you with me. The DJ too if I can."
"He'll be hard to hide."
"We'll figure it out." You manage to wriggle in his arms to hug him tightly, his chassis warm from your body heat. "I love you."
"We love you too."
---*---*---*---
"You're gonna love this movie. It's based off the musical based off the book that's just fancy fanfiction of The Wizard of Oz." You're tired and you know you smell kind of like lemon and buttercream icing. It'd gotten in your hair and you're not sure you'd gotten it all out, even with Sunny's help. "Sun -- Nova and I would sing it all the time."
"Not Lune?" Sunny sounds amused, helping you set up the pillowfort in his room. You ignore him at first, choosing to crawl inside and check your phone's battery life.
"He would've preferred Beetlejuice if I'm honest." You have to hold yourself close so Sunny can join you in the fort. He's careful to avoid the cushions that make up the walls, withdrawing his rays with an audible click that makes you frown. "Are you okay?"
"Of course. The rays adjust and the one clicks again. He catches your stare and touches over the offending ray, adjusting it slightly. "A kid got scared and grabbed on. It just needs to be put back on the right track."
"Let me see." You ignore his hesitation, making grabby hands until he leans forward. The ray is loose, and it's easy to rock back into place. Sunny still makes a noise when it retracts from your grip with ease. "There. Better?"
"Better."
"Good." You settle against his side, pulling his arm over your shoulder as you open your phone. "Should still get it double checked later."
"Much later. This movie is nearly... three hours long? Are you sure you'll be up by the end?" Teasing you as you yawn. You're tempted to shove him right into the couch, but it'd take too long to rebuild the fort. So you just snuggle into him further, hitting play on the video.
It takes you a minute to realize when Idina Menzil and Kristin Chenowith are in the Emerald City, singing as the ancient wise ones. As actresses pretending to be the ancient wise ones. It's a note Menzil hits, the way that Chenowith speaks with the new Glinda. And the arm wrapped loosely over your shoulder, Sunny comfortable with you in his space, and this isn't the pillow fort in Ohio.
You blink back a tear and refocus on Elphaba and Glinda's journey into Oz's room, the massive mask, the... is that the life finds a way guy from Jurassic Park? His sleight of hand is so obvious, but you realize it's supposed to be. The audience knows he's a shame, but it's a distraction from the thoughts lingering in the back of your head.
And then Cynthia Erivo sings. "Something has changed within me--"
"Hey -- hey, are you okay?"
The phone's not in your hands anymore, held lightly in oversized yellow fingers with the accompanying stylus pressed lightly into the screen. Sunny's other hand is pressed against your cheek, pulling you up to face him. You can't really make out what he's looking at exactly. You blink hard instead, pulling away and rubbing at your eyes.
"I'm... I'm o... Oh." You have to rub harder, willing the tears to go away. But they won't stop; they just overwhelm in a way that's not happened since you first saw Sunny's face. You drop your head, hiding your face even if you can't muffle the soft, snotty sounds of your sobs without also losing the ability to breathe. "I'm sorry."
"It's all right." Sunny pulls you into his arms, and you have to duck your chin to avoid smearing his poor ruffle with your gross bodily fluids.
"I'm sorry," you whisper into his chest, the painted metal fogging under your breath."
"It's okay." He responds each time you apologize with same the quiet patience he gives a child who has scraped their knee. And it works, or maybe you're just worn out from work and from grief and from the chronic pan that's mirrored in the off-kilter spin in Sunny's fans. A spin that you've only noticed from listening to the Attendant's internal functions for years.
Your Attendant. Your Sun, Nova, and Moon -- Lune.
You sag in Sunny's arms, flinching when a finger brushes against your false eye. "Should we finish the movie?"
"We'd actually gotten to the end. Do Elphaba and Galinda ever see each other again?" When you lift your head, Sunny returns to cupping your cheek. His rays are partially retracted, and his concern is palpable. For you? No... no, he's used to this by now.
"They... they do." You smile as his touch softens on your face. "Yeah, they do. Do you want to hear the rest of the songs?"
The click-cluck of Sunny's fan answers for him, and you can't help but giggle. "Okay. Gimme the phone. I got some good animatics downloaded in one of those old folders."
You settle back into Sunny's side, taking a breath as you dig into your old email's drive. It takes a minute, but Sunny's arm returns across your shoulders. You rub at the scars under your false eye. Just a phantom itch. You can't actually feel anything there anymore.

OMG I HAVE A THEORY!!!
I know how the Oz sequels are connected to Wicked. Are you ready?:>
The Scarecrow isn’t just in the first Oz novel, he’s in all the sequels.
This means he came back to Oz.
But where’s Elphaba?
He wouldn’t just leave her alone and besides, how long could a green girl and a scarecrow exist outside of Oz?
She’s right here.
She’s been here the whole time.
This is Scraps the patchwork girl. She was created in book 7, “The Patchwork Girl of Oz”.
She’s the scarecrow’s love interest.
They can’t just leave Oz, they still need to fight for Animal rights.
They had their entire escape planned out.
Elphaba used her spell book to change herself into Scraps.
This way they can help the animals and watch over Glinda/Galinda.
That’s why the Animals in Oz are being treated better. Especially since:
A. Fiyero was the king.
B. When Ozma became queen, he knew her personally as a young impressionable child who he could teach to be good to Animals. As the “wisest man in Oz”, she would probably trust him.
Which means that little meetup they had was completely staged.
Don’t you think it’s funny that they just conveniently ran into him?
And that Margolotte made her so many colors because blue was the only color munchkins respected and she didn’t want to give her too much confidence.
Doesn’t that sound familiar? It reminds you of someone, doesn’t it?
And scraps doesn’t care what people think of her. No one can tell her what to do. Even though everyone thinks she’s strange.
Sound like someone?

I remember watching Wicked with the strong intention of Ship Elphaba and Glinda at the end But something weird happened, when - defying gravity - it ended, all I could think about Elphaba and Glinda together was "Elphaba deserves better' I haven't heard the rest of the songs and all I have is a summary, but I understand Glinda has an arc and I honestly can't wait, I don't mind if the movie was split in two, if it means dissecting Glinda more. Again, I would really like a continuation of Wicked centered around Glinda, because even if she helped Elphaba in the end, she still has a lot to answer for.
Glinda is still supposed to be a morally complicated character. People have been saying that for decades, when Dorothy landed in Oz Glinda wasted no time claiming and befriending this new 'witch' before anyone else could, stole a dead woman's shoes and put them on a twelve-year-old knowing full well that made her a target, and sent her to the Wizard even though she knows the Wizard is a fraud. (she also knew the shoes could take Dorothy home, I know she has an excuse but like-homegirl just rode in on a tornado and her life went from sepia to technicolor, I think she'd be able to wrap her head around magic teleporting shoes) Very conveniently, this all ends with Glinda's rivals dead or gone from Oz, and then she disappears the only other person who could possibly pose a threat to her rule. People were literally writing analyses on how Glinda was the true antagonist of the film years before Wicked was ever thought up, because most of the story wouldn't have happened if Glinda had just gone "hey, I'm sorry about your sister and you can have the shoes back, but I'm going to send the little girl who got caught up in all this home first."
In Wicked, they're really leaning hard into the politician personality for Glinda. Something I think people overlook, Glinda doesn't disagree with Elphaba at the end or stay behind out of pure self-interest. Like, yes that's partially her reason, but to think it's her only reason would be to ignore her character growth up to that point. Her argument is that they could do more good for the Animals if they played along with the Wizard and tried to make changes from the top down. Becoming rebels might save a few Animals, but unless they managed to consolidate an army they're not going to make any meaningful change in the law and culture of Oz.
And the thing is, she's right. Elphaba fails. She helps the Wizard's monkeys and probably some other Animals, but what else? She spends years in Winkie Country and has zip to show for it. (the Winkies I believe are implied to be serving her on Fiyero's orders, so they're not even her soldiers) Elphaba dies. She saw everyone she loved hurt by her actions, her father and sister died loathing her and her friends from school blame her for all the shit that's happened since she became the Wicked Witch. She died, her goals and noble intentions died with her, and the only person who mourns her death has to pretend she isn't because she was so universally hated. (I know she doesn't actually die but from Glinda's perspective) Meanwhile Glinda has cemented herself as a major power and a face of the Wizard's cabinet to the people of Oz. The Wizard can't just send a child to kill her when she becomes inconvenient. And it's implied that she is having some success changing the Wizard's mind on the treatment of Animals, considering the Cowardly Lion is allowed into the Emerald City when Dorothy arrives and nobody really cares. By playing the long game, Glinda consolidates enough power for herself that she's able to tell the Wizard to leave Oz and basically take his and Madame Morrible's positions for herself, leaving her practically the sole ruler of Oz.
Now she can do anything. She just has to ignore what it cost her to get here.

How did you get into fashion and what things do you want to design for like. Your career?
thank u for this question!!! hmm, when i was in primary school i did a little sewing with a friend's mum, and also my mum had to sew my costumes for my dance class end of year concert; so there's been sewing around me my whole life. We had a sewing class in year 7 too where I tie dyed and embroidered a pillow. I didn't take sewing elective though.
I properly started to get into it once I started watching historical sewing youtubers! People like Bernadette Banner, Morgan Donner, Bella Mae etc etc. I just found it so fascinating seeing the whole process of making clothes.
I also really enjoy cosplay and early on in my sewing journey my friend asked to do a Wicked the Musical joint cosplay as Elphaba and Glinda. My Elphaba dress remains my biggest ever sewing project despite technically being my first??? (technically bc I first wore it in 2020 after a year of making it but I've worked on it in the years since).
I'll also say, as someone who's always had issues with body image and gender, being able to make my own clothes massively helped me become more confident.
Gosh I keep having more points ejiejejej the next one is that I'm really invested in environmentalism and the fashion industry is one of the biggest polluters. Between overconsumption, overproduction, unsustainable materials AND massive issues with slavery there is a LOT of change that needs to happen within the industry. Some of that happens with the general public, a lot of it must happen from the inside, and if I can be a part of that I would love it.
On to the second part of ur question (finally) well the real answer is I don't know kwkeksksksk. After I finished my certificate in fashion I had the choice to pursue a diploma in fashion (think commercial production, designing for brands, focus on clothing that gets reproduced and sold in large numbers) or in costume (specifically for live production like TV and film, theatre, ballet, dance). I didn't much enjoy the commercial side of fashion, stuff like sourcing materials in bulk, creating and organising patterns to maximise number of garments made- so I decided I'd prefer to do costume. I find the idea of creating one off garments to represent a character, using fashion to enhance a narrative really really enticing.
Do I really believe I want to pursue costume design as a career? I don't know. That question is a little more difficult for me since my disability has prevented me from getting a job. I don't have any working experience and already my job prospects are on shaky ground. The idea of having people rely on my is scary... but I don't think I'd be totally opposed. I'd probably prefer to work in theatre out of the options. Ballet is far too serious i could not handle the pressure, and I don't really like sewing other styles of dance costumes (like leotards or kind of anything Lycra lol). If I can find a local theatre company that's relatively low-pressure that could be fun.
I do also like the idea of making clothes on a small scale. One offs or small batch that I would sell locally. I enjoy the freedom of just letting myself create without restraints! Starting without an end goal!
I am STILL yapping but my final point is i have so many interests that i don't think I'll ever settle into one career. Even if i did get a job making costumes I'd almost certainly still be pursuing other things at the same time. It's a long term goal of mine to (eventually) go to university and get a degree in pure mathematics!!! I also want to do exchange at some point, find some three month program and go kskskwk. I want to travel, i want to write poems and books and songs, I want to draw more, paint more, learn to sculpt! I have always been a very ambitious person and this is not at all what u asked about so I will leave it here 🙏🙏🙏🙏
