sometimes i think about how crepus probably wasn't father of the year and i go a little insane. the way he pushed diluc into becoming a knight of favonious at such a young age; diluc receiving his vision so early in his life; how he saw his accomplishments as both his and his father's; crepus planning to gift or getting a delusion for his son despite his vision; and, the way diluc's namecard references him as crepus' creation, which is such an impersonal and cold way to put being someone's son. not only that but, again, referencing his strenght specifically. i'm not saying crepus was a bad father, diluc loved him dearly, but the projection he did of his own dream onto diluc's life and the efforts he went through to make sure diluc was "strong enough" doesn't appear to have been the healthiest thing.

we obviously have little to no information about diluc's relationship with his dad outside of a few mentions here and there but from his character story it just seems that even the praise crepus gave diluc was always because he did well in, somehow, living his father's dream and not necessarily because of who diluc was. it's a little bittersweet.

(Bed Question I guess) My sheets are dying. The fitted sheet always pops off the edge of the bed (yes I’m sure they are the right size and in the correct direction), and as it gets older it has gotten kind of scratchy regardless of when it was last washed. The comforter has two big holes and a few smaller ones opening up; it has an inner casing that holds stuffing, so no leakage yet. I never used my top sheet anyway, so that’s in mint condition at least.

I can struggle with getting rid of stuff when I should, but I really think it might be time. Any recommendations?

I need to be clear. I am. A sheet snob. I can handle the idea that less expensive sheets exist but the brand I fell head over heels for is a pricier one.

So my absolute favorite sheets that I utterly adore are DreamFit. They have straps under each corner to hold the sheets on snug, deep pockets with strong elastic to go on basically any bed without a lot of excess material scrunching up on the surface.

My sheets are eight years old and look amazing. There’s a tiny hole in my bamboo ones where Korben attacked it but it’s never widened or run because the weave is just that good. I. Love. These sheets.

I’ve got the microfiber (I don’t love these but they’re an okay stand in for flannel), pima cotton (still amazing but not as silky as-), Egyptian cotton (truly my fav), bamboo (second fav, really all around great), and tencel (sooooo soft).

They even have a quilted top sheet for the tencel ones that is the perfect weight for a summer blanket. It’s only negative is the quilting lifted from the under sheet after a few years and so is harder to clean and manage but still in great shape otherwise.

I have no strong feelings or recommendations about comforters, mine is a million years old, but these are my favorite sheets.

Intersectionality is something that, sadly, is often pushed to the side in Arcane discussions, specifically from a certain side of that fandom. They will go on and on about Viktor, as they usually do, talking about how he suffers from classicism and ableism within the show and fandom respectively (as they should as these are issues, but there is a catch when it comes to these fans as well), but when others in the fandom, especially Mel or even Sky fans, point out the racism and misogyny (misogynoir) that is often rampant in this fandom, particularly from said fans mentioned prior, all of a sudden its not possible or being overdramatized. Like they suddenly can't understand how some of their rhetoric includes or invites the same thing black fans have been calling out since the beginning, because how can you discuss the ableism and such that Viktor faces, but laugh or joke around with people who call Mel slurs or just denounce her to a trope? I thought you were for calling out forms of hate within fandom, or does your "activism" only stretch so far? And back to a previous statement, about the catch regarding those particularly fans----some of them regurgitate the same harmful rhetoric towards Viktor that they say they supposedly hate, just in mode subtle ways. How are you going to say you hate when Viktor is infantilized, but will be quick to forget he's a grown man who can defend himself (often when trying to pair him against Mel, framing her as the aggressor, and sometimes even Jayce too but to a lesser degree)? Not saying Jayce doesn't get equal amounts of hate, but his more so gets pushed aside along with his character to ultimately frame Viktor in higher regard, often making him ooc. It's like they pick and choose when the issues are prevalent, and when they aren't, and it's so frustrating.

Am I the only who loves the fact that Olly literally created the most subtle F U to the EBU by having the colors of the Palestinian Flag and got away with it.

Bruh, he even have a Keffiyeh-like pattern feature in the climax (although it looks more like a checker board but I think the resemblance is a bit uncanny, don't ya think?)

If you're still in doubt where Olly stands, just remember that he DID that!

this game does a really good job of giving backstory for jaheira and minsc that's accessible to new players to the series, while also being absolutely devastating to return players, and i appreciate that so much

So the One Piece brand has been doing radio broadcasts called Strawhat Space (/Mugiwara Space) where they bring in voice actors to chitchat about the series etc, most of the episodes they've featured just the main cast but they've started bringing in VAs for other characters too (one episode was Mayumi Tanaka/Luffy and Tomokazu Seki/Lucci, another was the OG three admirals etc) This week's broadcast featured Ryuuzaburo Ootomo and Yuriko Yamaguchi as Crocodile and Miss All Sunday respectively

The promotional images for Strawhat Space have been Extremely Adorable and I know I'm a simp but god, this one is so cute

Now unfortunately, while my Japanese listening comprehension is good enough to follow along your average kids anime where the VAs speak clearly and take their turns, yeah, a radio show where the VAs stumble on their words a little and speak over each other is too hard for me to keep up with (not to mention my vocab just not being suited for this kinda thing)

But, if I didn't completely misunderstand Yuriko at one point, she seemed to mention that she hoped Crocodile would remain in the position of an ally in the story (after having teamed up with Luffy during Impel Down), and like. Yuriko I love you, you so are so right

ngl it sort of pisses me off the way adults regard Gojo in Jujutsu Kaisen at times. Which could be a very interesting and poignant point in a good way if well written, but as it is it becomes mainly just frustrating and sad in a negative way.

Nanami saying Gojo never cared about anything or anyone other than himself crashes interestingly with Kusakabe saying the whole situation was just all his fault because he refused to kill Itadori. The students are very aware of those aspects of Gojo's personality, but overall they seem to regard him with way more kindness and fondness even when at their rudest, not truly coinciding with either Nanami's or Kusakabe's views.
