Did I actually keep track of how many times Ricky said “Nini” in this episode? Yes, yes I did. It helped me stay more focused ironically enough. Luckily half of those were in conversation with Nini so that wasn’t awful lmao.

So I was right about Rip Rini. Incredible. Hopefully they stay broken up for a while and focus on themselves. RICKERAPY CAN FINALLY SHINE!!!!!

Chim! Lou! Harry returning home! Bathena crumbs! May being way more mature than her dad! Eli!!!! Taylor getting a backstory! Loved parts of this episode but felt choppy. They really didn’t need to cut out all the Halloween stuff, i was excited for that and also didn’t need to devote as much time to that one case, could have kept the original plan and probably would have been a better episode. Loved parts but actually wasn’t a great “quality” episode, felt like a rough cut. Thoughts on the ep?

So my thoughts on the episode is that... when they were focused on CHARACTER it was amazing. When they were focused on plot/style... it was less so.

The Eva stuff definitely felt like it was tacked on (probably to replace the ghost girl stuff since it couldn't be a halloween episode anymore), and seemed to be a little bit random. Like... no hide nor hair from her in two years and suddenly that arc gets a little bow on it? (If this isn't to hint at Bobby's relapse, what with an ex-addict coming onto the show for a bit, then I really have no idea what's going on with it).

That being said, the Karen stuff was AMAZING! Please give me Karen Begins, because I need anything and everything Karen.

And yeah... all of Harry's flashbacks to the creep probably were there just to pad out the episode. My guess is that ghost girl took up more time than whatever it was that replaced it, but not ENOUGH to have a whole 'nother adventure, so they prolonged all of Harry's flashbacks.

Also just... ELI RETURNING!!! I was so happy you have no idea, even though it's probably only for this episode. I was a HAIR salty tho because I legit thought we'd finally get the story of how Chimney got his name when he told Eli that nobody really calls him Howie anymore. But also? Now we know that he got his nickname AFTER Eli left. Narrows the timeframe a bit 🤔

All in all I loved it, it certainly was better than last week's episode which was boring af, but I do think it could have been better.

The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals: - in the first scene the same phone rings about 32/33 times wow (i counted) - when charlotte is talking about sam singing in the shower, let it out plays real quiet and it's cool - i’ve always wondered what emma was gonna say before join us and die, and to me it seemed like she was gonna talk about paul’s crush on her and maybe reject him (she was acting remorseful, like she was sorry for being about to hurt his feelings maybe), idk if anyone tweeted nick lang about this yet but i wanna know - emma seems to jinx herself every time she says "we made it" or along those lines, like in the helicopter she says "we got outta there!" and before inevitable she says "paul! we made it!" - fuck nora :)

Black Friday: - the sniggles deserve betterrrr also lauren sniggle <3 - mnfnmggghfht them <3 paulkinsss <3 - silent night playing while we enjoy paulkins - "oH SHIT A BABY" - emma has beanies shopping bags so she either still works there and brought snacks or she just went there with paul idk - paul like "it's christmas time in hatchetfield isn't that fun" and im having flashbacks - i love paul's awkwardness but emma, he's your boyfriend ok (ok? ok. ok.) - emma copying bae like - how does lauren turn into an entirely different person with emma and linda ik it's acting but I CAN'T ENVISION THEM TOGETHER AS THE SAME PERSON - if i think about videos and streams of lauren, it seems like emma's personality is kinda similar to lauren's own personality huh - i think this part with emma and paul is so funny not just cause them and their wonderful delivery but also cause the paulkins content is more condensed in smaller amounts of time since they aren't the protagonists anymore, so it's more funny at once, while tgwdlm is probably more funny in total but it's more spread out - i love emma’s adorable laugh snort thing when tom tells her about the surprise it's so lovable <3 - tom just getting in emma's face when he says "he was sledding. -OH MY GOD THE FIVE HUNDRED MILES SCENE. it’s just. he’s so determined and sweet and damn i just really want a boyfriend like that. i don’t even ship zoey and max that much but wOW that scene is beautiful. also the soft piano music and the contrast between all the couples (leif+joan, mo+eddie, zoey+max) and simon alone by the scorched rose wall?? damn that hits different.
