Hey y’all, friendly aviation worker here to remind y’all (below the cut)

You don’t get to make up or choose your call signs.

You’re not being called “Princess” just because you look like Sleeping beauty. You’re not going to be called “Angel” just because of your physical appearance and physique. You did something embarrassing at one point? congratulations, your peers are going to find a way to make that into your callsign.

You pissed yourself at a party once? “Tinkles”

You run into glass doors constantly? “Pigeon”

You got run over once? “Roadkill”

You wear glasses? “Goggles”

You have a long last name, with lots of letters? “Alphabet”

You’re a lesbian? “Scissors”

You can’t swim? “Floatie”

Be creative with your call signs! Have fun with it! Make up embarrassing, funny stories about your characters! I’ve never met any officers with stereotypical cool callsigns like “viper” or “Shadow”.

Their callsigns are all cool in their own unique way, how they got it, that’s what makes them cool.

This isn’t to discourage anyone or make anyone feel bad, it’s just corny seeing people have things like “Reaper” , “Viper” , “Banshee” , “Angel” , “Lucky” , they’re awesome nicknames, but totally defeats the purpose of a callsign within the aviation industry.
