I'm surprised nobody mentioned how Even Older Scott actually succeeded in killing EVERYONE except present Ramona in Scott.

But then they all respawn in the present. It's subtle but it shows that another one of Future Scott's plans was completely pointless. Imagine how far he would've sunk had Future Ramona not stopped him.

Obviously, the funny/correct (/j) answer is they end up hyphenating it as Pine-Flowers.

But honestly like.. either of them taking the others name is also so cute? Kim Flowers, Ramona Pine.... they make me very 💞💞💞

(Flowers-Pine is also a fine order for the hyphenated take, and arguably more funny since Pine-Flowers is right there, but I think Pine-Flowers has better flow, ya know?)

Of course, this is taking at as a "legitimately married" au as I have taken you to posit here,, whenever I think about their future selves, personally, I've been thinking about it like "yeah Ramona's still married to Scott actually. This changes nothing for me" ahfduksfjdh

Watched the new Scott Pilgrim show today and it was great. Kinda wish I had rewatched the live action first, since I didn't realize this was really a sequel just pretending to be a remake. Love that they got the same cast, and the animation style was very cute (although Knives's soulless eyes were a little jarring). I really like that this version elevated Ramona to main character, which was a great choice for adapting it to the modern day

My main complaint was that the pacing felt weird in places. It was interesting to see a lot more of the exes doing their own things, but some of the sequences that were just of them felt like they dragged on way too long. Same with Ramona dyeing her hair every episode: the first time was good, and the payoff at the end was worth it, but it felt kinda like filler. The whole thing is only 3 and a half hours, so I wish it spent more of that on the main cast, but some of that felt rushed instead

I also wish they had kept more allusions to some of the best gags from the comics. There were references to bread makes you fat and the shoelaces, but they completely skipped flavor of tea, gelato isn't vegan, and how do you make that sound with your mouth. The former didn't need any changes, and the other two could've been adapted like bread was. Still, most of the new jokes were pretty funny too
