#even if they still didn't have much characterisation or emotional weight to them

HI I LOVEEEEE your Art I LOVEEEE your ema! I wanted to ask if you've played aa6 and your thoughts on aa6 ema! I really like that they brought her back and i really think they balanced her personality well by making her more upbeat because of her job, but shes not wholly optimistic either. I really like her relationship with prosecutor sadmadhi throughout the game too! I feel like there's a scale in emas mind from Most to least acceptable prosecutor men and on one end is Miles edgeworth, the other is Klavier gavin, and sadmadhi is in the middle. if that makes sense lol. I just think she talks like she doesn't like him, but she goes along with him way more than she would if Klavier ever asked her to do half the things he asks of her. Also I think it's really interesting that aa6 had ema and mayas first canon interaction! that was interesting to me because ema was sort of designed with Maya in mind and lana and mia obviously have some history, I think it was time for their sisters to meet too. sorry for the Long ask but I just treasure your interpretation of these characters so much!
Hi! I recognize your username from my notifs. Thanks for the support, and for your ask! 🫡 Glad you like the Emas!
I have mixed feelings on SoJ, but Ema is my favorite part of it. I like her a lot in it. She's still got a bit of the edge from AJ, which is nice to see. I like some of her new sprites too, like the swaying thinking one and the 🥺 one. Much prefer her munching sprite from AJ though. The shovelling snacks into her mouth is much more Ema. I also really don't like her official full body art for SoJ.
Unfortunately, Nahyuta doesn't really interest me... His design is too complex to do silly drawings of, for one. I feel like their dynamic was a little underdeveloped, a bit shoehorned in. It's a shame, because their backstories set up a possible dynamic that could be quite interesting, since Lana and Nahyuta kind of have the same motivations - writing team missed a trick. Also, I think Ema would have realistically been grumpier about having to fly halfway across the world every few days. It didn't reeeeaaally feel organic to me. But I do like the idea of their dynamic.
I like the way Maya and Ema interact, even if it's brief. Implies that they have met before, and they're friends, which is cute, though I wish it was a little more delved into. I feel like Maya's characterisation in SoJ is kind of boring. Not as bad as Pearl got it, but still nowhere near as good as she was in the trilogy. Honestly, the whole game falls flat for me when you compare it to the emotional weight the trilogy and AJ have. I really like some of the cases though. And Ema's mini games are great as always. Except the bit with the suitcase which lagged out my 3DS and made me restart it twice, haha. (Though, again! Her mini games were kind of better in the other games!!!)
So, to answer your question, I do like Ema in SoJ. And, despite my criticism, I do like SoJ! Just not as much as the other games in the series. When you play them all in a row, it feels kind of disappointing. I think it's because it's not on the intimate, domestic scale of the trilogy, which is where I think Ace Attorney really shines. (Case in point: Bridge to the Turnabout)
Super happy to see her in another game though, she's really fun, exactly what SoJ needed, and I'm really glad she was the detective they went for. Also, the outfit they put her in for the DLC cutscenes at the wedding is really really good. They were cooking with that one.
I'm really happy to hear you're interested in my interpretations, it means a lot. They're characters I've grown quite fond of.
This turned out quite long. Haha
Here's Ema and Nahyuta for you:

(Short Version) Give Me Death Chapter 1 in a nutshell:
Tumblr media
(Long Version)
Hi Ares, I read chapter 1 of your 'Give Me Death' fic and overall impressions are that I was right to view this as a heart wrenching tale that would readily put a beloved character and cast through emotional turmoil which in turn is gonna keep me up at night (Admittedly not a hard task but the sentiment still stands).
I really liked how you framed Adam's headspace (ah, to be the very thing you hated >_<;) from beginning to end. His battle honed instincts and self awareness while doing horrendous things seemingly beyond his control right off the bat sets quite the precedent of what to expect in later chapters (more faunus deaths, survivors coming back for revenge, word being spread to the rest of the white fang, etc) but one I can stomach and respect to show ending lives and hopefully the consequences that come with that. I mean ruby having to step over two bodies to reach Weiss?! OAO; It paints a bloody picture.
The girls had a small amount of screen time split among the four of them but I think you utilised it well. Every word they said, I could hear it in my head. Every action you saw fit to have each one show felt as if I could see it with my own two eyes. Their personalities take me back to volume 1 with the limitless potential of what they could do yet their characterisation here is clearly different showing a peek into how they have developed as a team (Weiss bawling on the ground in clear view of others? Blake and Ruby comforting someone they would have kept a distance from at an earlier time? Yang. . . ok there's not much I can say about her but it's simply nice to see her in denial instead of blatant anger). I was not expecting to have uncle qrow (He is like on a list of people I wasn't expecting to even be name dropped in this fic) mentioned but consider me intrigued. Now here are my fav lines and first reaction to them~
Fav lines: 'Adam knows oblivion. He didn't used to; for twenty-three years of life, it was a concept and nothing more.' (Adam with a clear set age in the opening of a fic? Oh this is already gaining a point in my favour).
'By its very nature it is unknowable until he is, at once and without warning, exhumed from it. Sensation crashes through his spinning mind: the ground under his boots, the weight and feel of his clothes, the air rushing into his lungs when he pulls in a reflexive breath.' (This is reminding me alot of when a character got ripped away from her 'afterlife' and believe me when I say that is a compliment.).
'The ghost of Adam Taurus breaks apart into glittering flakes of snow that just as quickly disappear.' (He's pretty. He's sad. You've made him pretty sad).
'Adam knows oblivion and so he knows that this suffocating void isn't it. Within the emptiness in and of himself there is a single anchor. A point of thready white light wrapped around some concept of him.' (I love these three lines, it's giving me 'soul' vibes with the abstract perception of what an individual being is :D).
*claps* OK I'm going to go pass out now with thoughts of reading and reviewing chapter 2 <3
Oh that's a very long version. I'm delighted by that :D
Yeah, I was very proud of that "Adam knows oblivion" blurb. It felt very impactful.
"Pretty sad" is now the official title of that flowers-from-the-face art piece I made the cover art lol
Thanks for taking the time to write such a long review! I'm glad you're enjoying what you've read so far. Not to belittle the later chapters, but I think the first is by far the strongest of the lot. I hope you enjoy the pain that follows :)

MORE GUILT!!!!
Let's Kill Hitler (the episode not the imperative). this episode has a couple of things I really like, and a lot of things I don't
sexism rank objectification (female character is ogled/harassed/turned into a sex joke by the doctor and/or a lead we’re supposed to root for and/or the camera): 3/10
sexism rank plot-point (lead female character is only there to serve plot, not to have her emotional interiority explored): 2/10
interesting complex or pointlessly complex (does the complexity serve the narrative or does it just serve to be confusing as a stand-in for smart, this includes visually): 6/10
furthers character and/or lore and/or plot development (broader question that ties into the previous ones, at least two of these, ideally three should be fulfilled): 5/10
companion matters (the companion doesn’t always have to be there, but if the companion is there, can they function without the doctor– and overall per season how often is the companion the focus or POV of the story): 2/10
the doctor is more than just “godlike” (examines the doctor’s flaws and limitations, doesn’t solve a plot by having it revolve entirely around the doctor’s existence): 7/10
doesn’t look down on previous doctor who (by erasing or mocking its importance, by redoing and “bettering” previous beloved plotpoints or characters, etc.): 8/10
isn’t trying to insert hamfisted sexiness (m*ffat famously talked a lot about how dw should be sexier multiple times, he sucks at writing it): 3/10
internal world has consistency (characters have backgrounds, feel rooted in a place with other people, generally feel like they have Lives): 3/10
Politics (how conservative is the story): 4/10
FULL RATING: 43/100 (if I can count….)
yikes, well, one point more than the previous episode
OBJECTIFICATION: there's this whole bit where River regenerates into the body we know and she goes on a whole BIT about her body and how hot she is (and makes a Mrs Robinson reference -- the second we've had of her in this show), and see it's not objectification, because River is just sexually confident that she's so sexy!
and then we continue to see this sexually liberated River be hot in various scenes. on and on and oooooooooooon, but it's in a craaaazy way because they establish she's craaaazy (more on that below) but also craaaazy hot
and also she goes to weigh herself as one of the first things in that regeneration, because she is A Wooman, and women care about their weight first and foremost
one thing I'm not sure if to put here or somewhere else, so it goes here: kid!Amy has a line about how she's "basically a boy" because kid!Amy is not like other girls, you see. she's kind of a tomboy is the suggestion. and of course the best thing about girls who aren't like other girls, is when they grow up to be super fucking banging models, but still One Of The Guys... it was a comment that annoyed me, considering Amy's characterisation. just let her be a girlygirl, she is as an adult! she is very much like girls, she likes being a girl! "not like the other girls" is either "I'm sexist because I want boys to like me," OR "I'm about 10 years off from a diagnosis and/or lesbianism and/or a new gender"
we also get another casually sexist moment of the Doctor asking Rory for permission (again!!!) to hug Amy, just to say hello??? where did this come from??? it did not exist this season until these two episodes! it's bad characterisation!
PLOT-POINT: Mels... Melody... wooow.... get it..... so Mels is someone Amy grew up with, except we've never heard anything about her before. in fact, something this episode does is highlight that Amy's life doesn't matter to this story. Amy's parents allegedly came back, but they exist even less than before, because at least before there was actually a plot reason why she didn't ever mention or care about them, Amy's aunt? doesn't exist? Leadworth? not a real place
we see Amy's school-life now and her bestie Mel, who wasn't there in s5 at all, and didn't come to the wedding because she "hates weddings" and it's really just to make the plot happen, because I'm not convinced M*ffat had any idea who Mels was until he started writing this episode
how does Amy feel about having spent all her youth with this person? well, we don't really know because it was covered in a montage. how does she feel about the child she bore without knowing, the child that was taken from her, suddenly being her old (new) best friend of ever? Idk, it's not important I suppose
Amy's whole everything is just about what the plot needs it to be, and none of it affects her. she just pivots as a character to become someone slightly different than we've known her to be until now, because now the plot has decided to be something different
but River! River also doesn't make sense, she's just vibing with whatever is required for her, and it's because she's a psyyyychopaaaath so she's craaaaaazy and can pivot whenever she wants! that's what crazy people do
I also note some things about how the Doctor continues to affect this family, it's so messed up but it's just how it is. I'm sure there's good fanfic out there exploring it
COMPLEXITY: it's soooort of complex but also not. the plot about the tiny people in robots travelling time to exact vengeance on criminals is quite nice, but then it's on top of the River thing happening as well, and River is a war criminal because she... kills the Doctor in the future. and that part is... ehhh, doesn't make sense
because the other plot is that this religious order (the Silence, we met them in the beginning of the season) "bred the perfect psychopath" or something, to kill the Doctor and it's kind of going "trust me, this is a perfectly reasonable plot, don't even think about how stupid it is"
it's basically a continuation of the Pandorica plot, where they tried to put the Doctor in space prison and didn't just idk... kill him then, and undermines the whole idea of that plot, because River could just shoot him and that was fine, and even this time around didn't have a great deal of trouble and only didn't kill him because she chose not to
the Doctor is not that hard to kill!!! yes, the Doctor is hard to kill, but not so hard that we need a three season conspiracy arc that's just about the Doctor being the biggest most interesting person that stays alive not because the narrative needs to continue, but because of... idk... being cool I guess
would've been fine with a plot about the little guys in the big robots (I wonder if they'll come back............................................)
CHARACTERS/LORE/PLOT: River becomes our first moment of being River, confirming that this is definitely not a chronological non-linear set of meetings, but it never could have been anyway
River can regenerate because she was conceived in the Tardis and so she is basically a Timelord, and then she uses her regenerations to unkill the Doctor, and also kisses him with her first "hello sweetie"
Amy and Rory... are chill with her being their adult daughter, because secretly growing up with your abducted kid who was "raaaised to kill the Doctor (sigh)" is the same as raising your kid
it's really... more about the Doctor... than about Amy and Rory (shocker)
there's a Question of some kind, (let's hope it's not something stupid like "Doctor Wh-" siiiiiiigh)
THERE IS A BIT THOUGH! WHICH I MENTION IN "PREVIOUS DOCTOR WHO" POINT where the Doctor sort of acknowledges the issues with his presence in Amy's life starting waaay back when she was a kid! talk more about it below, it is my favourite scene of the episode
Amy hasn't figured out that River Is Going To Kill The Doctor because she's kind of dense when the plot needs her to be
COMPANIONS MATTER: they do not! this is about their kid and they do not!
I will note three Moments of mattering
. Amy asks the Doctor what to do and he tells her to figure it out and she comes up wtih a plan in a snap second -- this is notable because she barely ever gets to do that in the show
. Amy gets the robot to show River that she is, in fact, River, prompting River to save the Doctor's life
. Rory punches Hitler and then nervously stutters "shut up, Hitler," and I acknowledge that did make me laugh
GODLIKE” DOCTOR: the Doctor also just hangs around this episode. he is pretty sure of River saving him I suppose, so yay for that?
oh and there's this stupid bit that is so very Sherlock of the Doctor and River "outsmarting" each other, which also belongs in the annoying sexiness category
there's a scene that I mention in the next point that's pretty neat though!
PREVIOUS DOCTOR WHO: HIGH POINTS! the past exists! best scene oooof the episode!
the Doctor is dying and asks the Tardis to give him a visual interface
The Doctor: Give me someone I like [Rose appears], (sarcastically) thanks, give me guilt. [Martha appears] Also guilt. [Donna appears] MORE GUILT!  Come on there must be someone in the Universe I haven’t screwed up yet! [Kid!Amy appears]
this also doubles as a moment where the Doctor acknowledges that his effect in Amy's life has been... less than great..... that perhaps Amy was not better off for meeting him.... Iiinteresting...
“SEXINESS”: Mels entire Thing is being sexy, but in this unhinged way, and then it gets muuuuch much worse with River, because River (as seen explored below in "politics") is Cu-RAAAAZY you see, so she can be so sexy and changeable and fucked up but in a sexy way, because she's a woman (wait this is also sexism, up in the objectification box with you!)
the Doctor says all of this basically
it's so prevalent throughout, because River is so prevalent throughout. and then she does the thing mentioned in the first point of admiring how hot she is, her breasts, curves, etcetcetc. sigh
because... she's.... a woman
also right at the beginning Mels is like "you didn't mention he was hot," and the Doctor all offended goes "you didn't mention I was hot!?" whatever
and when River is being all I'm sexy and matuuuure now, she presses herself up against the Doctor without his consent, and then when she runs off to... weigh... herself...... he covers his dick. S I G H
INTERNAL WORLD: I mean, it's Nazi Germany, but it does a shitty job, see below
POLITICS: we're in subjective land again, but I am... veeeeery tired of the way Hitler and Nazi Germany come up again and again in stuff like this
a lot of the time people do this for Flavour, rather than because there's anything important to say here and it's uncomfortable to me, this thing of writing Nazis for Spice
and of course it's also done to do a wee bit of Old Blighty Gee Whizz propaganda, because it's the Nazis, the ultimate bad guy, a good opportunity to let everyone know how much better the British are than the Nazis! it's just not good writing in my opinion, it's a simplistic depiction, it's dull, and it's politically a bit suspect
and for the next part: SHE'S A! PSYCHOPATH! I GET IT! YOU'VE SAID IT A MILLION TIMES IN THE SCENE!
River: I’m a psychopath, I’m not rude Amy: You are not a psychopath. Why would she be a psychopath? River: I was trained and conditioned for one purpose. I was born to kill the Doctor The Doctor: This is what they were building. My bespoke psychopath River: I’m all yours sweetie [kisses the Doctor]
firstly, takes "psychopath" away from M*ffat and puts it on the shelf next to "sociopath."
secondly, ooooh all the fucking. it's fine if she does all this boundary-crossing sexual shit to the Doctor because the Doctor is a bloke, and secretly all blokes like it
FULL RATING: 43/100 (if I can count….)
So the good is these couple of tidbits that give us something to work with, and also give a bit of emotional continuity (for the Doctor, not for Amy...)
while the bad is like. the setting. the characterisation. the emotional depth. the dialogue
on the upside, the next episode wasn't written by M*ffat

1, 4 (for to a nightingale and take my name!), 30, 37, 50 for the fic asks 😌
yo yo yo, let's get to it. thanks for so many questions!!! 💛💛 fic writer ask game
1. What fic of yours would you recommend to someone who had never read any of your work? (In other words, what do you think is the best introduction to your fics?)
I think it's gotta be take my name. That fic has a pretty good mix of all of my usual Trademarks™ and plus, I think it's a lot of fun (even if it's a tad angsty). (although, I gave it a quick read just now and it definitely needs an edit)
4. What detail in [insert fic] are you really proud of?
to a nightingale: Someone once commented on that fic saying that it feels like a sacrifice and I think that's the part I love the most about that story. There's a sense of their love being intoxicating and despite Dong Sik trying his hardest not to succumb to it, he can't "quit" Joo Won. It's desperate and messy but beautiful, and I'm proud that these elements came across. Plus, the fire imagery is pretty strong in this one and I like that Dong Sik experiences Joo Won's love as something that is burning him but with it, he will be cleansed. I also really like this part:
No one else would have forgiven him after every unkind word, every grief-riddled insult, every fuck-up and tear-soaked nightmare. No one else would see beauty as he laid himself naked before them - scars, history, memories, mistakes - and still think him worthy.
take my name: I'm proud of this fic because it offers a slightly different look at what jwds's post-canon relationship could look like. I know the idea of them not getting together right away is kind of commonplace nowadays, but when I wrote it, I received quite a few comments from people saying that they hadn't considered this direction for their relationship. That was pretty cool!!! I think it's my favourite post-canon fic I've written- I really like how much love they have for one another but they still struggle with it. I also like the weight of a decade hanging over them throughout the fic. I adore the jealousy and how Joo Won has been not-so-quietly suffering as Dong Sik has dated more than a handful of people (that are cheap versions of Joo Won). (and i really love how messy they are)
30. Have you ever written something that was out of your comfort zone? If so, what was it, and how did it affect your approach to writing fic thereafter?
Errrr, I would say writing in general is out of my comfort zone 😂 But the fic that I found particularly challenging in this regard is courage to make love known. I haven't written about a pairing's developing relationship from an outsider's pov before (nor have I since, really). It was an interesting way of approaching the story and I'm really glad I did it. I don't know if it affected my approach to writing but it definitely made me think about how to convey a character's emotions through their actions.
37. Promote one of your own “deep cut” fics (an underrated one, or one that never got as much traction as you think it deserves!). What do you like about it?
Either Drone Bomb Me (the characterisation and dialogue are super fun) or with you and without you (I think this poem is one of the most impactful and gut-wrenching things I've written)
50. Answer any question of your choice, or talk about anything you want to talk about!
Ah shit, okay... Uhm... I'm going to say that I am determined to write a fic based on 🎶 this song 🎶, as I feel like it would really suit my s t y l e. But, as of right now, I haven't got a story to show lol.
I reeeeeeallly went on and on, didn't I? These were great questions, thank you for asking them! It was nice to talk about the parts of my stories that I like, instead of constantly criticising them (which I am so guilty of).

A comparison of SH2 to SH4, in particular the openings and character storytelling choices. (contains spoilers)
I’ll preface this by saying that this is more a collection of comparisons and observations than a structured essay, and I have been informed by more knowledgable people that SH4 had time constraint issues and suffered for them. I’ve also only seen one playthrough, and given Silent Hill games often need a couple of goes to fully “get”, so these probably don’t represent my final thoughts on it.
First, a quick runthrough of the first half hour or so of each game, because I think when broken down they are illustrative of the sort of issues SH4 has with being what it wants to be.
SH2 starts with a reasonably long voiceover where you find out why James is there in the first place, and we have our long-term goal as a player set out for us – find Mary. We then have a walk through creepy forest before meeting with Angela in the cemetery. The conversation is stilted to say the least, but it immediately gives us a good feel for both characters. It establishes that there’s something wrong about the town, and that James has something of a self-destructive streak to him, or at least values his search for Mary over his own safety. This will be a driving factor in the rest of the game. James then walks on to town and through a series of short cutscenes sees and follows a figure in the fog. He finds the creature, and the player’s first introduction to monsters is having to fight one in a small space so they can escape. After this, similar monsters will be found wandering the streets for the rest of the first part of the game.
SH4 starts with some on-screen text giving a little bit of background about the PC, Henry, and establishes the major problem he has to overcome – he’s trapped in his flat and suffering recurring nightmares. Play starts in the room with general Silent Hill Yuck over everything and objects the PC doesn’t remember owning. After a bit of exploration, we get a cutscene where the room goes more to hell and a ghost pulls itself through the wall of the apartment. It seems we’re going to get thrown right into it this time – oh, no, it was the aforementioned recurring dream. We can then explore an un-Silent Hilled apartment, then crawl through a hole in the wall to a distinctly concerning kind of freedom. Original goal completed, I guess. Immediately, we meet Sexy Latina Stereotype Cynthia, who believes this to be her dream, “a pretty terrible one”, and wants to find the exit. Then she vanishes into the bathroom, and we get our first in-game enemies – fucked up dogs! Now Cynthia has apparently vanished into the ether, there’s a hole leading back to Henry’s apartment in the ladies’ loos. Henry wakes up back in his room, but the hole in his wall is still there and leads back to the bathroom he came from. This mechanic continues for the rest of the game.
The first difference between these styles of opening I want to draw attention to is that SH2 tells you what’s going on pretty much straight away. There are questions which want answering, and the questions are clearly stated. SH4 goes more with the mind screw angle and does a good job of making the player go “what the heck’s happening now?” Where it fails is explaining why Henry is doing what he’s doing. Objective: escape room. Done. New objective: Help Cynthia get out the messed up station. Oh, Cynthia’s vanished. Is Henry concerned for her and going to look for her? Does he just want to find the way out? Does he just want to know what’s going? I don’t think we ever actually find out.
The second change is the monster vs NPC introductions. In SH2, you get a vague warning that Some Shit is happening, then run into two types of common monster and the big bad Pyramid Head himself before meeting Maria, who resembles James’ late wife Mary to an uncanny degree. By the time you meet her, you know a) what the danger is and b) why James would feel protective towards her. Regardless of your feelings about Maria, James’ actions make sense in-universe.
In SH4, Cynthia turns up before any monsters in the subway world, so at that point neither the player nor Henry knows why she doesn’t want to be there except it’s dull and a bit creepy. So not only do you not get the same sense of urgency, but the emotional drive for Henry could be as shallow as getting laid. The lack of clear danger to her and apparent NPC immortality for the bits she’s with you for do serve to make it more of a shock when she dies within the first hour of gameplay, but the lack of time with her or defining character traits means her death doesn’t have the punch it should. “It’s okay… it’s just a dream” finally gives Henry some discernable character and it’s a pity nothing has been built up between these two characters before that.
Later character deaths suffer from it even more because they don’t even have the shock value after Cynthia dying at the end of the subway world. It doesn’t exactly take a genius to figure out what’s going to happen to the NPC you meet near the start of every subsequent world. After Disposable Person #2, I started to develop a pretty Walter Sullivan attitude that obviously these people need to die to get to the next bit, so there was no point in expending effort trying to find something about them to make me care.
Compare and contrast the 2-7 deaths in SH2, depending on ending and how you count Maria. They never feel cheap, even though each one could be seen coming if you read the signs, and some were obviously coming. Angela was a tragic figure, damned from the start. Eddie was pushed too far and turned to wrath. James had to kill him to survive. Maria existed purely to die and make James suffer, and yet there’s a tragedy to her as well. She was James’ futile attempts to bring back Mary, his guilt and desires. And in the ending where James took his own life, he succumbed to everything the others did. Deaths were many things in SH2, but they were never plot coupons.

What should I say to a person who said that Peeta is a weakling and useless because they only watched the movie and refused to read the novel?
@curiouspeetamellark
Okay, so we start off with a firm slap to the head, hopefully knocking some sense into them. You show them my list of favourite moments of Peeta, because if that isn't already convincing, I don't know what is.
Honestly, one of my least favourite things from the movies is the fact that they downplay Peeta's strength and genuine value. But most movies tend to do that that's an issue for another time.
I'm usually pretty good at convincing someone to read/watch something. My cousin never reads if she can help it and I convinced her to read the entire Maze Runner series. So I'd try to convince them to read the books as well if you possibly can.
However:
I feel like people often confuse kindness for weakness, which is entirely wrong. Because one of the strongest people I know is also the nicest. Peeta is one of the most compassionate people in the series. He's loving, and basically human sunshine living behind the clouds. He's charismatic and likeable for literally everyone.
Physically, he's definitely not weak, that's pretty obvious, even with the toning down that the movies do. I mean he throws that weight with ease, he's obviously strong.
And through all the torture he goes through in the Capitol, he still comes back from it. He survives it. The mental, emotional, and physical toll of that torture is awful, we know that much. The books are from Katniss' point of view, and so we don't know exactly what he's subjected to, but Johanna says she and Peeta are "very familiar with the sound of each other's screams", so obviously whatever they experienced in there was awful. And he perseveres through and still comes back.
(Also commenting on the fact that he literally nearly killed Katniss and fought other people away while trying to even though he's clearly half-starved and beaten, so obviously he's strong)
Useless? Lots of people are alive who would've been dead without him. He warns District 13 that the bombs are coming, giving them extra time to evacuate the facility and get everyone to a safe space. The entire district is safer because of him.
And you just know that he endured even more crap for that.
Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Coin want Peeta as opposed to Katniss as the face of the rebellion?
I mean, like... weak and useless, my ass.
It's one thing to make such a claim about our King, God and Saviour Peeta Mellark, but it's another to have no evidence to back it up.
I assure you, there's other characters to hate in this series as opposed to Peeta.
(Hoping this didn't come off as super rude, I know sometimes I sound really rude when I communicate opinions when I'm passionate, I don't mean to be)
Also I realised at the end of writing this that I seem really over critical of the movies, and I love the movies, don't get me wrong, it's just that movies often ruin characterisation of characters, although the Hunger Games movies are pretty good at keeping characterisation. I do have a couple of minor problems with the movies, but I still really enjoy the movies.
