It's actually insane thinking back to my first era of MCU fandom years and years ago, like 2012-era, and comparing it to my return, where I binge-watched every movie (when I hadn't even seen every movie made at the time back in my first era) and like... there's basically no resemblance between past me and current me here fgreiuhdi.
I was a Captain America girl and now I'm an Iron Man girl. MCU version of Peter didn't even exist yet. Quentin didn't exist even harder. I hadn't seen any of the Iron Man movies, don't think I even knew of Happy or Rhodey's existences.
Basically my whole entire fandom focus didn't exist or was ignored by past me and current me is now like "wtf, how dare you"
I actually got pulled into checking the MCU back out because of running into Starker and Spiderio fic and being like 👀 So maybe that colored my priorities but who knows fergyiuhedwoai
#to be fair to past me on one point though#my love for happy revolves around ffh so past me wouldn't have the base for the retroactive part of that#even if she had watched all the mcu movies already made

Top 10 Cartoons I Hate But Many Others Like
#10. The Amazing Digital Circus: Yes, I'm aware only 2 episodes have been made of this cartoon. I'm also aware that both episodes have been praised by viewers and critics alike. As much as I would love to join in on the fun, I cannot ignore how badly structured it is. From the unlikable characters, the poor world building, the unfocused narrative to the lackluster jokes, poor handling of themes and lack of stakes, this it the kind of unmitigated mess that more infamously bad cartoons are ripped to shreds over. I will say that the animation and voice acting is well done so it's not all bad.
#9. The Owl House: Many people were disappointed by my disappointment with this disappointing cartoon. But no one was more disappointed that I was left cold by the show than me. I love fantasy, magic, mystical creatures and enchanting worlds. The Owl House should've been up my ally, yet in practice I wouldn't even spit in it's direction. With an irritating cast of characters, bad world building, formulaic plots, the writing was already on the wall. Then Amity showed up and it made the show unbearable to sit through. I'm all for LGBTQ rep, but I draw the line at a bully and their victim becoming and item. I'm sure Amity has some sappy sob story about how her parents pressured her into being an entitled brat, but she's still and entitled brat that shouldn't even have friends, nevermind a girlfriend, because her attitude STINKS!
#8. The Loud House: I've made it no secret that despite the warm reception and continued popularity of The Loud House, I was never a fan. I never found it funny, well written, or relatable. All I got from The Loud House was this is one of the most annoying dysfunctional families I've ever seen. I do think it's well animated and I commend the crew for moving forward with the show despite the disgraced creator's termination.
#7. Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur: I consider myself a big Marvel fan thanks to the MCU and Spider-Man franchises. I never heard of Moon Girl or Devil Dinosaur before this show was announced, so I was genuinely curious to see how this would play out. Needless to say, I was not impressed. Despite having dazzling visuals and really good voice acting, the show is just badly made with terrible writing, unfunny jokes, dull characters, and repetitive action scenes. This show clearly has its fans, but unfortunately I'm not one of them.
#6. Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous: Those who know me know I love dinosaurs and am a huge Jurassic Park fan. You'd think a cartoon based on the series would be as exciting and interesting as the movies. Well like so many of the dinosaurs victims, you'd be DEAD WRONG! This show shoots itself in the foot by having 6 unlikable and annoying characters, and not one gets eaten by a dinosaur. Not to mention it's sluggishly paced, the animation is stiff, and the score only reminds me of the movies I'd rather be watching. Clearly I'm in the minority here as I had a blast watching ALL the Jurassic Park movies, even the ones critics didn't like at all, over this.
#5. We Bare Bears: I like bears as much as the next guy, with my favorite cartoon bear of all time being Winnie The Pooh. Despite my fascination with this big, furry creatures, We Bare Bears never made me like the main trio, much less love them. They're all varying degrees of unlikable and the show isn't funny or well written to keep me engaged. They also did San Francisco dirty by making the people so unlikable. The one element that I think would've made for a much more interesting show is Chloe Park. Her character was utterly wasted on this stupid show as she's a kid with a high IQ and is in college but still wants to be a kid. She deserves better.
#4. The Mitchells vs The Machines: As much as I like Sony pushing for more expiremental animated films lately, this expirement didn't succeed in my book. Sure, the animation is amazing and the voice acting's mostly good, but tells such a generic story, has such incompetent and unlikable characters, and I will never get over the fact that Aaron Mitchell sounds like a middle-aged man and not, you know, A CHILD! The worst part about this film is despite it's best efforts, it is just NOT funny. It relies so much on cringy, outdated memes, weak slapstick, and dull visual gags and I never once found it funny.
#3. El Deafo: I was confused as to what this show was supposed to be based on the trailer. Watching it for myself, I found that it was more frustrating than anything. Don't get me wrong, I commend author Cece Bell for turning her personal struggles with impaired hearing into a comic turned cartoon and I fully understand wanting to tell a story from a deaf person's perspective. That said, though, I just despised the execution from the awful writing, the unlikable characters to the terrible sound mixing. As pure as the intentions were, they were sorely lost in the execution in my opinion.
#2. Frog and Toad: When I was a kid, I loved reading the Frog and Toad books. They were simple, yes, but the characters were so interesting and the illustrations were well crafted. This show should've been exactly what I was looking for in an adaptation of the books. What I got instead was a prime example of how NOT to adapt a beloved children's series. Despite having spot on voice acting, the abysmal writing, the incompetent characters, and the lackluster animation really soured the experience. I know the author's children were involved in this, but I don't think they did the books justice. The show didn't take full advantage of the medium and played more like mediocre live reading of the books.
#1. Summer Camp Island: I clearly struck a nerve with fans of the show when I said I hated it. Well, y'all will be please to know that your efforts to change my mind were all in vain. I just couldn't get passed how badly written it was, how hatable the characters were, how grossly unfunny it was. The worst part is that this is a world where anthropomorphic animals and mystical creatures exist, yet they can't tell anyone about the magic on the island. To this very day, I CALL BOLONGA!
Conclusion: I'm not saying y'all are wrong for liking these show and you definitely won't see me call them "overrated." I just wanna offer a different perspective on these popular and well liked cartoons. Some honorable mentions include Miraculous Ladybug (many people love it, I can't stand it), The Ghost and Molly McGee (you all know how I feel about that chatterbox), and the "adult" cartoons that received critical acclaim such as Rick & Morty, Smiling Friends, Bob's Burgers and The Simpsons. Agree? Disagree? Let me know in the comments and I'll see you next time.

🎆 Hey J!! Congrats on your 1.5 followers I'm so proud of you girl!! So for my request I was wondering if it could be a Peter Parker one where y/n is somehow transported into Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, or Spider-Man No Way Home you pick and chaos ensues 💜
Multiverse : Peter Parker x Real-world!Reader
Descr: short fic in which y/n finds herself in her favorite movie and has to decide how to proceed.
Warnings: I’m not really great at these kind of AUs but other than that, I can’t think of any but let me know!
This sucks; I'm sorry, nothing was coming to me
Y/n bounced her right leg nervously as she looked around. She didn’t understand what was going on. One second she had been rewatching the latest Spider-Man movie, No Way Home from the comfort of her apartment. The next, she was standing in front of a glowing circle, identical to the ones that were portals in the movie she’d been watching. She hesitated briefly but nevertheless let her courage guide her into the multi-dimensional opening.
Y/n squinted as her eyes adjusted to her new surroundings. She quickly realized she’d somehow seemingly entered into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. How that was possible, she wasn’t certain. Had it not been for her literally pinching herself several times, she’d have thought she was simply dreaming. But she wasn’t. This was real.
Y/n slowly made her way across the bridge, stopping the moment she heard the fighting begin. She was actually in No Way Home.. or… in the universe that held the No Way Home events..? She wasn’t sure how to phrase it, it was all so bizarre. Either way, she knew from having seen the movie countless times already, that she ought to run and hide unless she wanted Dr. Octavius or Green Goblin to harm her.
Y/n let her feet guide her away from the immediate threat, only looking up when her legs came to a halt. She blinked rapidly as she found herself standing in front of Doctor Strange’s Sanctum. Of course she’d managed to make it here. Perhaps she should just go with the flow and try to help. After all, she knew how things would go, maybe she could prevent Tom Holland’s char Peter from getting hurt and May from dying.
That idea turned out too optimistic as Peter understandably was weary of y/n. It was one thing to bring people who knew him/Spider-Man from other universes. But a universe in which he was actually just a character and not real, that was another thing to digest. Nevertheless, Peter didn’t want to take any chances so he let her help him, Ned, and MJ.
It was a bit difficult at first to get Peter to trust her. As in his eyes, she seemed to be able to tell the future and was offering to stop the bad things before they happened. Luckily, having seen Far From Home, y/n understood why he was so weary of such a thing being too good to be true. So even when Peter trapped her in a sheet of webs as he demanded answers he could understand, she remained calm.
Once he had heard her out and understood that she meant no harm, Peter let y/n guide him on what to do and what not to do. There were some moments of chaos nonetheless as they were trying new things that y/n knew Peter hadn’t done in the movie before. But, she figured it was worth all the danger and chaos because she was helping her favorite superhero.
Only that too was much more intense than y/n had anticipated. Yet, she was simultaneously thrilled to be playing an active part in the movie she loved so much. Especially since they were now near the ending and May hadn’t died!
The only issue is y/n now had to return to her own universe. As much as she wanted to stay and make a place for herself in this one, she refused to risk ruining the MCU by accident. So, with a sigh, y/n closed her eyes as she said goodbye to this universe before stepping back into hers.

An open letter to Kevin Fiege
Note: please do not take this too seriously chat, I was assigned with writing an open letter for my English class, and I decided I needed to diss on Kevin to my English professor for a little while.
————
Dear Kevin Fiegi, (I know I spelled your name wrong, it is intentional.)
I’d just like to start off with a very sincere screw you. And if this wasn’t a school assignment that my professor is going to read, I would be using some choosier words.
Second, kindly go to Hell. Emily, my apologies. Moving on.
Let’s start with one of the most glaringly obvious problems you created and let happen in the MCU- the confusing and unnecessary death of Natalia Alianova Romanova, otherwise known as Natasha Romanoff, the Black Widow.
I can understand Natasha insisting that she be the one to sacrifice herself instead of Clint- it fits her character archetype and offers a solid way for her character to die with dignity. If it weren’t such a stupid idea to kill her off in the first place.
Might I offer an alternative to keeping one of the arguably most important characters in the Marvel Universe dead in the cinematic adaptations? Did we even think about Tony Stark bringing her back with the Infinity Gauntlet when he revived half the world’s population? Did we consider at all that maybe when Steve Rogers made the (horrible) decision to stay behind in the 40’s, he could have warned the team about the dangers in Endgame? Maybe he could have prevented the Snap in the first place.
Maybe, maybe, maybe… so many options, and yet, here we are, onto Phase 5 of the MCU and Natasha Romanoff-less.
More on Steve in a second.
Natasha’s death felt unnecessary, shallow, and forced in order to create a narrative with enough drama and angst to soothe the most particular crowds. While we already had very few strong, main female characters, the loss of the Black Widow only adds the problematic misogyny in the MCU. This is aided by the fact that we received only one Black Widow movie (after she had canonically died, mind you) and have three Iron Man movies, four Thor movies, and three Captain America movies with a fourth on the way.
I’m sensing a pattern here, Kevin. A pattern I do not like.
If we wanted to stay on the topic related to misogyny, we could talk about Wanda Maximoff, and the injustice served to her character in Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness. The show Wandavision gave us a beautiful narrative of how Wanda reacted to her immeasurable grief, and wove together an exciting story that provided us with intriguing lore and storyline options. However, in the absolute dookie bomb of Multiverse of Madness, almost every single point of conflict and character development that Wanda experienced was completely trashed and ignored in favor of turning her into a villain for the sake of villainy.
A terrible reason, by the way. Literally what the hell. Kevin. I am so incredibly upset with you.
Back to Steve Rogers, as promised.
Steve in himself is an incredibly in-depth character that absolutely lives up to the hype. He’s Captain-freaking-America. His actions are purposeful, his morals and strong and set in doing what is right, not what is expected. *cough cough* When Steve decided to stay in the 40’s when returning the Infinity Stones, he disrupted several important plot points. In Agent Carter, Peggy Carter moves on from Steve when he’s lost to the ice and finds love and peace and happiness with someone else. Steve ultimately steals back her affection from that life she had built for herself, and the importance she completed in her life with that man.
Have you ever watched Agent Carter, Kevin? Have you read any of the comics that you’re adapting for the screen? Have you seen the movies? The shows? Do you understand the plot lines you’re supposedly in charge of?
Secondly, we cannot forget about Bucky Barnes, even though Steve most certainly did. Remember Bucky, Kevin? Remember Steve’s best and closest friend? The man he promised to always stick with, “to the end of the line”?
No, Kevin. Clearly, you do not remember. Steve absconding Bucky was entirely out of character and makes no sense. What are we even doing here?
Thank you, but no thank you, Kevin. Please hand the MCU reigns over to someone who actually cares about the characters and what the fans want (in a reasonable sense.)
-London, aka the one you should hand them to.

Fandoms you couldn’t pay me to join even though I either really do like the show, did once or have been interested but for whatever reasons have been turned off by its fandom in no order
9-1-1 (did watch but fell off vapid fandom)
Buddie (no)
Bridgertom (was interested vapid racist fandom I find shonda Rimes to be very...)
Greys anatomy (did watch fell off vapid fandom with hints of racism)
Japril (I hate this ship with a passion mostly because their stans are annoying and turned me off)
Atla cartoon (comfort show vapid vapid fandom)
Anti legend of korra ( I have a love hate relationship with this show)
Driven (I do like them on a surface level but some of their fans can be intense) you will never get me to interact with driven content one I’ve seen multiple post attacking musa for being with riven or or calling musa ugly (she’s a cartoon character) or calling Darcy’s “spell” a dubbing issue while that might be true atp I’m over driven
Klaroline (jesus fucking christ sorry for using your in vain but this ship stans I once saw a fanfic that made caroline a original heretic and she was in the box instead of ester I'll give the points for originality but if they were to do a heretic bonnie was right there you know the wich that already had powers
Anti jegulus ( im not entering a fandom where the couple is written ooc to be together atp they are whole different characters) not trying to yuck someone yum
Sterek (these are some of the most annoying fanbase they don't even like these characters fr because rewrite them to make them so ooc that they are new characters. Why would stiles be in derek pack)
Stiles (I'm not going to lie I used to like stiles but his stans ruined him for me they were insuffible he could do no wrong in their eyes. All because he's a white snarky/sarcastic boy. Dont let write a crossover then they'll make him the most powerful being in the universe. Crossover with tvd/to he's loss mikealson crossover with supernatural hes either a Winchester that has demon blood also or an angel. They think that stile would be a better werewolf then Scott when everything in the show has told us that if he was the that had been the that had been bit his eyes would been blue by the end of season 1. And don't get me started on the friend subject)
The mcu (I used to love the mcu and watch every release but it became quantity over quality and its downfall for me was very sad)
Wanda maximoff and wandavision (I could make a whole video on the whole rollercoaster of thoughts I had on wanda and wandavision because like the mcu I liked both then I didn't. The decent of wandavision was more gradual with wandavision it was episodic to me it was a let down and didn't make sense while I thought Elizabeth Olsen acting was good the writing was not it find out that the writers were swayed not to look at the source material for the show because kevin fegie didn't want them to be influenced although that's the whole point because you're making a supposed comic book adaptation then there's the alleged part reshoot that happened because ppl guessed the ending and let's not forget the whitewashing of Wanda and peitro maximoff who are canonically romani and the mcu deliberately changed it to a made up country somewhere remotely European and made wanda a knock off Jean grey (red hair, pale skin, mind powers) for over ten years so bad that it started to influence the comics
Tony stark (hes a war profiteer, his fans infantilize him. They recognize his PTSD and mental problems only. His side of civil war was dead wrong and ppl to this day will not accept that even if you explain it to then like they are 2. Come onguys the un is useless even iron man knew he was wrong he broke the accords three times in the movie and kidnapped a child to fight adult that he had no business fighting. Also his fans are insane)
Specifically black arianitors that excuse everything thing that grow women does (now I don't dislike her or hate her but man her fanbase is annoying as hell especially the black ones it's like the one non black person who does problematic shit but has a lot black ppl in their corner rooting for them so when they do something out of pocket they don't even have to say anything they're black friends do it for them)
Taylor swift (need I could say more mind you I like some of her songs)
Obx/jaira - yall are psychotic!!!!!!! Yall have been tweaking over fictional characters for a few days
#this has become more of a things i don't like list#anti stiles stilinski#anti sterek#anti klaroline#anti atla fandom#anti legend of korra#anti greys anatomy#anti japril#anti 911#anti buddie#anti bridgerton#anti jegulus#anti mcu#anti wanda maximoff#anti wandavision#anti tony stans

I actually didn't even bother watching the second season of Loki because of the cheap marketing and inconsistent storytelling.
It just felt like the plot was lifted off somewhere it would have made sense, and a character with a similar ego was replaced with Loki and goes through an arc that might have made sense for a blank slate character, but not someone who already has a backstory.
Loki doesn't even feel like Loki after three episodes in S1. The whole point of having a show like that just seems to be about the TVA and Sylvie.
Also the whole genderfluid thing. They 'confirmed' it in the promo and had a line in the script that went completely against anything they just said.
I knew at once that the writers, directors and other parts of production were really just pulling it in different directions and it would probably sound like a jazz trumpeter and a metal guitarist trying to improvise after knowing each other for 15 minutes.
I've been meaning to watch it just so I can have educated opinions on all of it but it's just,, so hard to get into. I definitely agree the marketing was cheap, they did with the 80s McDonald's like they did DB Cooper!Loki and made it centric to the advertising because McDonalds was also getting something out of it which is kinda ass seeing as realistically Loki Laufeyson would burn 6 of them down before he ate in one 😭
I personally don't like either of the major ships in the show but the forced Sylki shit in season 1 really got to me. Like not only did she completely replace him as the main character in HIS show, she's also a variant of him who he wants to make out with and overall it just reads as lazy writing and it's extremely disappointing that Mike Waldron has been put in charge of Multiverse of Madness and The Kang Dynasty since, due to the popularity of the Loki TV show. I was talking to my boyfriend about this last night but it kinda reminds me of the complaints people had ab the last Indiana Jones movie but opposite? Like everyone complained his best friend's daughter was gonna replace him bc she's a Mary Sue and she rlly isnt, she's more reminiscent of Marion in Raiders of the Lost Ark she just doesn't wanna fuck him. But the difference is Indy is a character who's majorly blank for little boys to project themselves onto. Which is great!! It works for those kind of movies, but they're not character development centric like the individual mcu movies tend to be. Loki is characterized in a way that he's drowning in identity issues and family problems and he experiences growth in every installment whether it be positive or negative. It doesn't make sense to take the formula of an Indidna Jones movie where he meets up with a woman who's typically a love interest and has her own issues that are only slightly touched on because that's not the focus, and they go do the plot.
Sylvie is not an Indy Girl, they straight up are trying to replace Loki with Sylvie. And you can tell the character wasn't supposed to have as much importance as she does in the show bc the character was worked on more after the actress they chose was buddies with a producer ( and this is no hate to the actress I'm sure she's delightful everything I've seen her in in terms of interviews has been lovely ).
I also absolutely agree they should've just made a tva mini series to introduce the tva rather than bringing back a dead character who soon will not make much sense anyway because Tom Hiddleston is getting older (and also he deserves to branch out in his career).
The genderfluid thing was a cash grab and it sucks ass, they just want money for acknowledging things already canon in the comics, same with confirming him as bisexual.
My boyfriend is actually writing a fic on ao3 called Find Me that's rlly good if you want Loki content that isn't related to the show.
(YES this is shameless promotion sshhhhshshsh) but fr the loki TV show makes me more confident in my screenwriting bc t h a t got put on disney plus. I'm also working on a Loki show rewrite in my spare time!!

Heyyy, I finally saw the Marvels with my family! OH MY GOD, what a truly unhinged movie. I was fighting for my life for most of it, just basically being like:
What do you think of it as a movie, btw?? There’s so much I like, from the singing planet, to Kamala and her entire family, to the scene where all the Flerkens eat the entire ship(!!). It’s incredibly ballsy — but also, WOW there’s some stuff I don’t like. It’s so goddamn fast paced that nothing has time to breathe, the villain is not very interesting, and I think the way the fight scenes are shot makes the CGI really hard to look at… in terms of looks from the original to this, it’s like comparing Spy Kids to Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over. Oof.
But I still had a LOT of fun, and I don’t really regret it. It’s probably still better than the Flash on account of pure dignity — and I guess to someone who knows these characters better than I do, I suppose the logic of the film makes more sense? My dad was confused by Kamala’s ability to use her powers without the bangles, and I still haven’t seen Ms. Marvel yet… so I might need an explanation on that myself. 😅
I liked the movie! I thought it was fun. Carol, Kamala, and Monica's dynamic was so much fun to watch, and every scene with Fury and the Khans cracked me up! Goose was amazing, too.
But yes, the movie could've been a lot better. I do think they could've added 15 or so more minutes because, like you said, it was so fast and had no time to breathe. I was kind of annoyed that the movie sort of glossed over Carol restarting a sun because that's a HUGE thing to do. Thor (temporarily) did the same thing in Infinity War, and it was rightly treated as a feat of strength, but the movie barely focuses on Carol (permanently) doing the same thing. It's like, "Oh, by the way, Carol restarted the sun. Moving on."
Yeah, the villain is BORING. I really don't know why they went with Dar-Benn, but I guess the problem is that Carol doesn't have many notable villains, and the ones she does have are related to the X-Men, like Rogue, Mystique, and Deathbird, so the MCU couldn't use them. Or they already used what villains she does have in the first movie, like Ronan the Accuser, Yon-Rogg, and the Supreme Intelligence. But I still think they could've used the Brood, Nitro, or Moonstone rather than Dar-Benn. Or even adapted a version of the Kree-Skrull War since I don't think the MCU is going to do it. And if they wanted to use the Quantum Bands (which are basically the Nega-Bands from the comics), they could've made Genis-Vell the villain (who would've turned good) since he's Mar-Vell's son and wields the Nega-Bands in the comics. Basically, there are many more interesting villains they could've chosen than Dar-Benn, or they should've written her better.
The logic of the film does not make sense to me at all; I just took it at face value. I still don't understand Kamala's origin or her abilities, and I've watched Ms Marvel. I think they've overly complicated her origin, and I still don't know what her mutant power is.

Okay I finally watched the episode and I have several feelings so here we go...
If you haven't watched the show, stop reading. (Though I hope you have blocked the spoilers tag, if not it's your own fault..don't come at me)
Am I dying every second thinking about him being alone there for eternity? Obviously 😭
But am i stupid or delusional enough to think he won't make a comeback in the next Avengers movie? No.
I don't think those people can fight kang without loki, they would at some point need his help because he's literally the most powerful god out there now.
Coming back to the episode there's not much I cared about, I probably wouldn't have blinked if ob, b15 or Casey would have died..didn't care about them at all if I was being honest and it's not the character's fault.
As much I hated the ship (because god forbid two male characters are friends in any show these days because they have to be lovers otherwise it's homophobia.. remember when bromance existed? Good times)
Mobius had a good character development that began in season 5 and continued this season unlike Sylvie who started as such a badly written selfish character that the only way they could have fixed it this season was to completely sideline her, which thankfully they did. The smirk and smile at the end even knowing that she may never get to see Loki again? (Yeah just die already).
Hopefully I'll never have to see her again.
Coming back to Loki (my precious baby love) i know his arc ended on a bittersweet note (that smile at the end just warmed my heart like never before) and it's more bitter for me than sweet because I can't handle the thought of him being so lonely because this is not what he wanted or deserved but then I think about Loki who died via strangulation and I'm like fuck everything, this is definitely much better than that ending.
Personally I think with time he's going to grow and learn to control this new power (or he could just clone himself and use him in a way? Idk Marvel can do anything) but I can feel it in my bones that this is not the end of him (unless ofcourse Tom is done with him and won't return for future projects)
That being said, Loki is alive and sure he is alone at the moment but he's a hero now, he has more than redeemed himself and he can finally forgive himself for everything that he didn't do right, perhaps this is what he needed to find that sense of purpose he has been looking for all his life. Hopefully he'd see himself as the god that he always was.
A man that was always ridiculed for his selfishness and narcissism chose to save the multiverse by sacrificing his freedom, by giving up his own free will. He chose everything he didn't want, a throne and what seemed like eternal solitude (but hopefully not)..a man of actions indeed. His arc reminds me of Tony in a way and that's beautiful.
Wherever you go, it's just death, destruction, the literal ends of worlds!
Uhhhhhuh? Look what my boy just did for the whole fucking multiverse.
I'm just trying to see the silver lining here that he's alive and he's the moment..he's everything, he literally became the most powerful being to ever exist in mcu and that gives me hope for him…he'd come back. Kang's arc started with him and they'd need him when the time comes. If not I got my fanfiction powers 🤣 (He deserves to find the sort of love that would stay by his side even if he's all that person would ever get)
Thank God they changed the writers this season and fixed somewhat of the mess they had made of this majestic, ethereal god last time.
Overall yeah my heart is breaking for him but look at him..he's the moment, he's the king of the multiverse, he's everything.
#loki my precious baby buttons#anti sylvie#loki spoilers#loki who remains#loki spoiler#my baby will find love and happiness..i know he will#if Thor could see him now

Whew, watched it. So many feelings! I’m just going to blurt them out while it’s all fresh.
Not sure if I should go into spoilers here or let people message me but I’m happy to talk about them.
Anyway, loved that they re-did the intro. Really smart move and gives it an immediate air of legitimacy. This IS a continuation.
Remy and Rogue’s intro? Perfection. They looked and behaved like a couple. My Romy heart was happy. Then in the nightclub too, with Remy doing as he always does and showing her it doesn’t matter to him if they can’t touch, he loves her for her. There were so many small moments where the two of them were with each other or near each other. I’m not ashamed to admit that I had tears in my eyes, it couldn’t have come at a better moment for me. I needed it.
There were other moments too that will test that relationship and I won’t lie, I hate that stuff. It’s already heartbreaking to watch and I know it’s only going to get worse.
Also loved the way they used Scott’s powers, he’s my second favourite X-Man and FINALLY seeing a piece of media understand his beams are a concussive force and not hot fire made me grin. The way he pushed himself around with them tapped into that and also his perfect geometry and angle skills (also a power?). Brilliant.
They got his personality right too. Driven, perfectionist, takes the world on his shoulders. X-Men and the dream is everything to him.
The aggro between him and Logan is palpable and Jean smoothing it out is just right.
I like that Jean and Scott are in the stage that they are in their relationship. It adds to that sense of progression.
The voice work grew on me over time, it started off sounding like slightly-off impressions of the original but soon fell into place.
I was a teenager in the 90s. It’s weird hearing Jubilee use words like bling and bestie at least 10 years early, we never spoke like that.
Loved the Easter eggs, loved hearing Logan say Bub.
Didn’t like Morph at all. His jokes felt cruel to me, attacking people personally - which I don’t find funny.
Storm is…just as she should be. Love the long Mohawk too, and when she caught Remy she was so careful with him. I hope they explore that bond, especially as the wider plot develops.
As you might expect, I don’t trust Magneto one bit.
Sentinel fight with the theme tune? Magnificent and creative use of powers too.
Overall it was just really great to see X-Men being X-Men again. A new story to tell without being constrained to previous movies or the MCU. These are the X-Men and the Romy that’s lived in my head for 30 years and I’m here for it.
Even if it hurts right now. It hurts a lot.

Fandom asks for MCU <3! 3, 5 (Loki), 6, 9, 17 (Tony), 22 (Emma)
3. NoTP?
Scott Summers/Jean Grey, Logan/Jean Grey, Anyone/Jean Grey (I mean, if I have to have her around in a fic and shipped with anyone, it's usually another character I don't dig either), Steve Rogers/Peggy Carter, Anyone/Peggy Carter, Steve Rogers/Sharon Carter, Steve, Bucky, Sam/Brock Rumlow, Tony Stark/Pepper Potts (I mean, I can deal with their relationship as a past relationship turned best friends, but I'm not gonna read or write their ship as I think they weren't really healthy for each other - like Ross and Rachel.) Loki/Grandmaster (I will make references to it as a past thing that Loki did for survival but he hates it). Loki/Thor (There's some pretty-pretty artwork out there, and I will acknowledge that it's gorgeous and can enjoy it as artwork, but as an actual pairing, no. Just not my thing.)
5. Out of all your fanworks that include [Loki], which is your favourite?
Obviously, my on-going WIP series Hemispheres would be the top of that favorite list, but then I'd have to say I'm torn between these two:
What's on your mind, half of the time, (brother mine)
and
A little shy and sad of eye but very wise was he
Both of them feature Loki in vulnerable moments. The first one, he's like 5 and tiny and adorable and scared of the storm. He gets to meet a stranger who boosts his confidence a little. And the second one, he comes back after a grueling time in Asgard with Thor, who's still being far too bullying, and his friends and is really low about it, and Tony gathers everyone up to make a blanket fort (as Loki's never experienced one before), order Loki's favorite take-out, and watch movies to comfort him. Wholly self-indulgent on the comfort side.
6. Show us a bit of a WIP!
From "Too weird to live, too rare to die" (Justin Hammer/Loki)
“So Loki made friends with Natasha by helping her with mission stuff?” Justin roped them back around to the other topic.
Nodding, he answered, “Yeah. He did some spellwork for her. Imbued it into a piece of jewelry that essentially all she’s gotta do is think about how she wants to look, and that’s how she looks. The spell lasts as long as she needs it to, and then when she’s ready to not look different, she just thinks of herself and bam. Nat again. No more dying her hair unless she wants to, no more contacts, no more tech that can blitz out on her.”
Justin looked impressed. A little skeptical, him being a tech and science guy like Tony, especially tech, but still impressed. He wondered how Loki’s ‘magic’ could be utilized in their own tech, but he figured Tony had already been thinking about that.
“Nice. Sounds like he’s much better as an ally than an adversary,” Justin remarked as he finished with the last of the dishes. He dried his hands and hung up the towel again.
Tony took in how easily Justin took on the domestic task of dishes. Seems like he learned some humility in prison, after all, and wasn’t looking to be waited on anymore. Perhaps there was hope for guys like them after all.
“Much better as an ally, though don’t let the gentle smiles and the fun tea parties he has with Morgan fool you. He’s still dangerous when he wants to be. He’s like a cat. Don’t rub him the wrong way or you’ll find his claws slashing your hamstrings,” he joked, but the serious look in Tony’s eyes said he wasn’t actually joking.
Justin walked over to the fridge, grabbing a glass along the way, and filled it up with ice and water. He took Tony’s glass from him to fill it up, too, and handed it back, refusing to see the pleasant surprise in that gaze that followed him around to take a seat at one of the tall chairs at the counter. Cold, pure water rushed down his throat and gave him time to think of how to respond to what Tony said. Setting the glass on the counter, Justin turned it around and around, watching as the water remained calm even in its movement.
“You think Loki’s dangerous to people here and you let him stay? He’s really close to Morgan from what I hear. I don’t see him much. Passing in the halls, when we eat. That’s about it, but your kid adores him.” Justin let out a breathy laugh. “I think she adores all of us, though, so I think that’s just her. Big heart.” Like her dad.
Moving across the kitchen so he could belly up to the counter next to Justin, Tony took a drink of his water and set the glass down. Two men, both at one time consumed by the big buck, by reputation and prestige and power, by controlling the playing field where weapons and tech were concerned, rivals – not bitterly so but rivals nevertheless, now sitting side by side, drinking fucking water for fuck’s sake, when they used to be dripping in the finest whiskey and women. Burying the hatchet, and not in each other’s skulls.
Tony never would’ve believed it could happen, especially not after he and Rhodey had to face down Vanko and the shitstorm he brought that Justin bankrolled.
It was kind of nice, though, given that one of the last people Tony’d wronged in the past had injected his ex with Extremis, which still made Pepper a fiery handful to deal with, but at least, they’d gotten a handle on it for her so that she did set people on fire with her fists anymore. While he’d never specifically wronged Justin the way he had Aldrich Killian (and really wronged was a little strong for just saying he’d been a spoiled dismissive asshole), he had been a dismissive asshole, which pushed Justin to make one of the worst decisions of his life.
“I don’t think Loki’s a danger to Morgan ever,” Tony finally stated and tilted his head to meet Justin’s curious stare. “I don’t think Loki’s a danger to me or Bruce or probably not Thor anymore. Not since we’ve all sorta ganged up on Thor and told him not to be a dick to his brother. The stabbing’s stopped at any rate. You, though. He doesn’t know you well enough yet, so I’d just say...tread carefully. You never know when you’ll end up on a mission with him.”
“Yeah, about that,” a voice from behind them announced.
Tony and Justin swiveled their seats.
Phil Coulson met their eyes.
9. Write a recommendation of someone else's fic you enjoyed!
Okay look, I have so many bookmarks and fics I could recommend that are tear-jerkers, kept me on the edge of my seat through months and months, that made me swoon, and I could easily give any and all of those. I could and I would! But this asks for one fic, and I'm gonna go with one that made me LOL so hard it woke up dog up from a nap in the other room and had my sister asking me if I was okay because for a second, I couldn't breathe.
Clark's Chicken by @kleenexwoman
I don't normally read DC fanfic. I like DC okay enough to know generally who the major players are, but I'm not invested. However, I am invested in my friends and their creative sparks, unless I'm just really not at all into a particular fandom. I can't really write a full review to say what it's about other than it's not exactly safe for work, definitely not for kids, though teenagers would love this, I think. I think that's why I love it - I'm still 12 and masturbation and fart jokes make me giggle. (There are no fart jokes in this, but discussion around masturbation is.) I want as many people as possible to read this fic because all the laughter in the world could finally heal humanity, I think, and if we could all laugh our asses off at this one, it could drive out the darkness all around us these days. Seriously, I believe this fic has the potential to lighten the world, to drive out the fascists, to heal the sick and sad, to build a protective bubble around the vulnerable - all through the laughter that this fic will grace people with. READ IT AND LEAVE KLEENEXWOMAN SOME LOVE ON IT.
17. What's a book, movie, or show you think [Tony] would like?
Book - American Gods - He really rooted for the New Gods at first, especially Technical Boy and Media, but somewhere in it, he really dug Mr. Wednesday, Mr. World (and especially Mr. World's reveal).
Movie - Real Genius
Show - McGyver (remake)
22. Give us a headcanon for [Emma]
So many people give Emma shit for being cold, stand-offish, and snobby, and because of this, Emma performs that to perfection. However, around those who see past this barrier, she's loving, warm, tender, kind, encouraging, compassionate, and has one of the biggest hearts they've ever met - and she uses her big bucks to take care of the people she loves.
Thanks for the asks!!!

Why do you dislike the marvels?
ok so I talked about this already kinda in this ask and this ask and I know I'm going to repeat some of what I've said in those in my response to this. but also there are actually many many things I dislike about this movie, and I don't think it's even possible for me to sum it all up in any one ask, and there will definitely be things I'm forgetting, but I will do my best...
but first!! I know a lot of fans enjoyed the movie and had fun with it, and I'm glad they liked it! I didn't want to talk about how I disliked it at first, because I just didn't want to put my negative thoughts out there about a movie that was going to receive so much criticism even if it had been perfect. but I personally just feel like I did not experience the same movie as everyone who enjoyed it so much, and I really wish I felt the same way as them, but I don't think I will ever fully enjoy this movie.
so continuing on to the rest of my thoughts under the cut...
like I talked about in that first ask I linked, this just did not feel like an actual sequel to the first captain marvel movie. to me it felt more like a movie that should have come after at least two captain marvel solo movies, so that more of what was set up in the first movie had time to be addressed. and, personally, I just don't think there was ever any way that this movie could possibly have time to balance all three leads in a way that was fulfilling for any of their storylines.
but focusing on it just as a sequel to the first captain marvel, I personally think it failed. tonally, it completely shifted. like the anon pointed out in the first ask I linked, it became much more family friendly, taking away from the seriousness of everything carol went through in the first movie. when they did address any of carol's trauma or past experiences, it was incredibly brief. and everything that had been set up in the first movie was merely glossed over, or just ignored completely. carol's story has decades of blank space in the mcu, and this movie refused to do anything but scratch the surface of what she's been up to. the conflict of the movie revolved around solving an issue that should have been its own movie entirely, not something summed up in a few sentences before moving on.
it was also disappointing that instead of getting to see carol finally at the height of her powers for more than a few minutes, this movie chose to once again hinder her. the swapping was, in my opinion, very annoying. it served as a tool to make sure carol, monica, and kamala all had to interact, but it felt more like uninspired writing to me. and there were inconsistencies in how the swapping worked (sometimes it swapped just the two women using their powers, sometimes one would use their powers and swap with both of them, sometimes they swapped in their own clothes but then conveniently kamala swapped into a space suit) which just made some of the sequences painful to watch, in my opinion. I think there could have been more compelling ways to get the three of them to work together, rather than a contrived swap that didn't really make any sense or even have much pay off in the fight scenes.
and forcing the idea that carol was "finally working with a team" just did not land with me, since we have only seen her working with other people in her mcu appearances so far. if they wanted this idea to make any sense, they could have done so by actually taking the time to show her working alone in a proper sequel.
and I also personally just did not like any of the scenes on the space station with nick fury's crew and the flerkittens. I think they did nothing for the story. the flerkittens were very gimmicky and seemed like a ploy to sell merch, except there was hardly any merch of them available. so it was a waste of screen time in a movie that was already lacking on adequate screen time for its characters.
basically I generally just thought the movie was poorly edited, poorly written, incredibly choppy and way too fast-paced (I felt like I had whiplash from how fast some of the scenes transitioned), and tried to take on too many things in the runtime it had. I think the actors all did great, but in general I think it's one of the mcu's worst movies and another victim of their decline in storytelling quality.
and also I didn't like how it this movie was generally handled by the studio??
when it was announced that this movie would be a team up, I thought it was sus of the mcu/disney to not make the captain marvel sequel a solo film before doing a team up, because how often have they done that in the sequels for their male superheroes (not including avengers team up movies)? I think the only other one was ant-man and the wasp, but most of the main male avengers had plenty of their own sequels. so why does the first sequel to a female-led movie have three leads in the shortest mcu movie so far?
I think this particularly goes along with how the mcu has been introducing as many heroes as possible in as little time as possible, and this movie felt like another way for them to do as much as possible without taking the necessary time to prioritize character or plot. the mcu is certainly consistent in choosing quantity over quality whenever it can. but with the marvels in particular, it seemed like marvel/disney wanted to impress people with the cover of a girl power team up, when they're just cramming as many female leads into one film to more or less avoid having to make actual sequels for each of the characters, essentially killing two (in this case, three) birds with one stone.
and speaking of killing!! the fact that they did actually film a death scene for carol danvers I think could say a lot about what they might have wanted to achieve with this film. from the way carol has been handled in the mcu so far, it feels like the executive powers that be either wanted to get rid of brie larson as carol danvers by killing her character off, or by having the movie flop, essentially doing their dirty work for them. this may be me being a crazy conspiracy theorist fan, but I'm not convinced the studio actually wanted this movie to succeed.
first of all, the marketing felt lacking. remember when the marvels happy meal toys were at mcdonald's? it was over the summer, when the movie wasn't coming out until november. what good was that as a marketing tactic when you can't even go see the movie that's being advertised right in front of you? if you have to wait literal months to go see the movie being advertised to you, chances are that most people are simply not going to remember. I know the movie was originally slated to come out in july, but I don't entirely believe disney doesn't have the ability to push the release of something like happy meal toys if they really wanted to properly promote the movie.
and also in general, there was so little merchandise for this movie. the first captain marvel movie had so many toys for little kids and cool merch for adults to collect. but this movie had basically zero presence in toy aisles or in more high-end collectibles, like hot toys sixth scale figures and such. there's so much merchandise for marvel/disney movies, but not for this movie? why make this movie much more family oriented than the first one and not make any toys? no dolls for carol or monica or kamala? no flerkitten plushies? for a franchise that pushes so much merch, I don't get why there was so little for this movie.
and also they decided to release the movie in the middle of a strike that would not allow the actors to promote the movie. movies like dune: part two, which had been originally set to release around the same time as the marvels, had its release pushed back due to the strike, and the movie then got to be properly promoted by the cast in the last few months, which helped create buzz. but disney, despite having already pushed the release of the marvels multiple times, chose not to follow suite in the wake of the strike. so there was mandatory radio silence from the actors during the crucial time of promoting the movie.
anyway, with the lack of proper merchandising and promo, it didn't seem like the studio cared about letting this movie actually succeed. and that, coupled with the fact that carol's story was basically sidelined in this movie and that they literally filmed her death scene, I think just sums up what they really wanted this movie to achieve: no more captain marvel movies.
and now that the movie flopped, there are rumors that another captain marvel movie will not be pursued. after the lack of adequate promotion and plans to kill off captain marvel, it doesn't shock me that the studios would smother any potential captain marvel sequels and blame it on a box office flop, despite her first movie making a billion US dollars.
to me, it felt like the studios are giving in to all the meaningless, sexist hate that brie larson and captain marvel get from the incel "fans" that constantly hate her for no reason other than their own bigotry. in reality, carol danvers as a character truly resonated with so many people, but the studios seem content with sidelining and/or killing her off. it seems like too much of a coincidence that she gets so much unwarranted hate online and now the studios are treating her character this way. disney thinks they can formulate a movie that will please everyone, but who are they actually trying to please by minimizing captain marvel in the mcu?
hopefully I'm wrong about how the studio feels about captain marvel's future in the mcu, but I just do not feel optimistic at all about it after this movie.
so after all of my complaints, I realize I might be asking too much from a fucking marvel superhero movie, since they're not generally known for their excellent treatment of plot and characters. if you pay too much attention to a marvel movie, you will most certainly not be rewarded in its sequels, as they seem to like to punish the fans who care about consistency. but all the same, I still love carol danvers as a character, and despite everything, I hope she gets better treatment in the future.

I understand that you appreciated enough things about Love & Thunder (as in Jane's scenes, Thorjane, etc) to consider it canon, but what are your thoughts on the Thor2 deleted break up? I can't help but prefer them breaking up because of the long distance, or Jane being so overwhelmed that she "couldn't imagine a life with him" after everything, than what we got in canon. Maybe my opinion would change if I watched the movie, not sure, but I'm interested in your take on it.
*takes a deep breath* Buckle up.
1. I appreciate you saying whether I'd consider anything canon or not. Buddy, my acceptance is irrelevant. Anything Marvel puts out IS canon, regardless of how we feel about it. That's the whole entire reason I can't let this shit go. Because he's CANONICALLY drilled into the ground by Marvel with nowhere to go. And it depresses me.
2. I hate both break-up scenes because I simply don't want my OTP separated. Period. But if I have to validate any one, I'd go with Thor4 because at least its idea was understandable, the issue was its failed execution. The Thor2 breakup makes no sense and regresses their characters. The two reasons you present that the movie presents:
a) Breaking up because of long distance is such a bastardization of their magical relationship that transcends realms that I just cannot. He's not a coworker or a one-night stand she tried to have a relationship with and decided it wasn't working out. He's the Prince of the paradise in the clouds that's advanced to her realm by a millennium. He's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity as far as boyfriends go lol. And his mother died to protect her. Why? Because she had all but accepted her as her daughter-in-law.
You don't just break up with THAT because of long distance, that's unbelievably simplistic.
b) Jane being overwhelmed that she "couldn't imagine a life with him" is also against her character because she is such a zero self-preservation inquisitive soul that was so fascinated by Asgard's advanced technology, she would be at home on Asgard. She would want to be with him and explore his magical world she's studied about her whole life.
And ok, she was so overwhelmed that she would dump him. For what? To return to her boring 9 to 5 life and do theories of the phenomenons she could do practicals of on Asgard. That makes no sense with Jane's character.
Or she was so scared by the challenges of a life with him (even tho she was ready to die saving him a scene ago) that she just quit? That's not the Jane I know either. She takes challenges head-on and is not a quitter.
The ONLY reason she would break up with him is for him - like I said in my theory that Odin made her do it.
3. Even from a story-telling perspective, it was a terrible choice because it resets every character to their factory settings, rendering the development of Thor1 and 2 completely pointless. Jane becomes a meaningless person forgotten going forward. Thor and Odin are chilling in Asgard with nothing to do and Loki and Frigga are dead with their sacrifices for Thor and Jane amounting to a big fat 0. Why dedicate two whole movies to their romance only to break up because of freakin long distance?
You can't have the event of Ragnarok with Thor in Asgard. You can't have him on Midgard for Avengers movies. What is the point of this then?
-
Not to elongate an already long answer, but I always thought the plan was to make her the Queen of Asgard, the perfect foil for King Thor. Her love and quest for knowledge + kindness to help shirtless strangers combined with Thor's sense of justice and protection of his people would make them the PERFECT rulers. Do you know what I'd give for this to be Thor's final ending in the MCU?
Like, I thought she was written to be so fascinated with the stars beyond because that where she belongs. That's where she'll rule. That if anyone from Midgard in the MCU was meant to leave it and stay on Asgard their whole life, it's Jane because she's so far ahead of her time.
But I was Boo Boo the Fool. Her entire purpose in life was to die for him. Because Marvel's all about feminism.

I’m currently watching all of the Spider-Man films on Netflix (which is confusing because there’s like 3 films that aren’t on Netflix, so the story doesn’t make sense to me) and my Media Studies teacher told me to illegally watch them.
D’you know what order to start marvel in? My friend told me to not watch them in the specific order (she never gave me the actual order, and google won’t tell me)
-🫎
Oh, you have come to the right place!
Fun fact: I was a Spider-Man super fan when I was little. Literally, my three year old birthday party was a Spider-Man themed because I was absolutely obsessed with Tobey or I guess Peter Parker (There are even baby pictures of me with a spidey suit).
So first of all something you have to understand is that the Spider-Man movies are kind of like Batman. They have been rebooted several times and they have changed Spider-Man two times so far. That means we have three different Spider-Men: Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland (there are other vintage ones but they aren't that popular).
My personal favourite is Tobey, but I am biased, because he was the first one I ever met and the one that made me love spider-man. Now, that doesn’t mean I don’t absolutely love Andrew, because you know Remus <3
Now, onto the order!
I’d recommend approaching it on a release date order, although you can watch any of the different spider-men in any order as long as you follow the movie order for them.
So, let’s go through the different spider-men.
First of all, we’ve got Tobey: his movies are known as The Raimi trilogy and were what kickstarted the whole Superhero movie craze of the following decade (he’s a pioneer, my boy).
Names are super easy, you just need to find “Spider-Man + (Movie number)” and that’s it. There are three of them and number two is one of the most beloved Spider movies of all time (Tobey had some of the best Spider-man villains ever).
Then we have Andrew’s movies:
This are “The Amazing Spider-Man” and “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” (My little brother’s favourites).
Andrew was a great Spidey, and although his villains aren’t my favourites, he’s my second fav.
None of the previous movies are part of the MCU (Kind off)
Now onto the MCU, or Tom Holland’s trilogy. Tom is part of the MCU since he was created and the first time he appears on screen is in Captain America: Civil War (The third CA movie).
Although he is on this movie for like 15 minutes in total, it is pretty much the backbone of his story, so I'd definitely recommend giving it a watch. Besides my man Bucky Barnes is a big character on this one so <3
After that, you have his solo movies:
These are: Home Coming, Far From Home and No Way Home.
No Way Home will bring an interesting surprise since you've already marathoned all the other films.
So that's it, you can watch either the Raimi Trilogy or Andrew's movies first, just make sure you leave Tom's for the end (if you want to be as excited as me screaming like a crazy person in the theatre).
Now I'm not sure if your teacher also wanted you to watch these two, but Spider-man Across the Spiderverse and Into the Spiderverse are also spidey films, even though they are mainly focused on Miles Morales and not on Peter Parker.
Now, Miles is a different Spider-Man from a different universe, but that's a lot to do with a bit more technical multiverse things that you'll learn as you watch the other Spider-Man movies.
The animation on these ones is absolutely insane, and I love them, but I would wait until I've watched at least the Raimi Trilogy and the Amazing Spiderman movies to dive in. If you watch it after Tom Holland's movies though, you'll have a much better understanding of the Spiderverse by the time you enter this world.
Sidenote: Tell your Media Studies teacher that your internet friend thinks they're super cool for making you watch all the Spider-man films.

miscellaneous civil war thoughts. word count 1214
Ok first Ant-Man is annoying in this one. Sorry. Not really. The airport fight is also annoying. I feel like it should have been taken a lot more seriously considering literally everything that's supposed to be happening. And like most of these movies, there are a few lines and deliveries that are just embarrassing to watch. Tiny guy is big now makes me want to kill myself. But on the other hand Spider-Man throwing a chunk of wall at Bucky did make me almost cry laughing.
On the other other hand I deeply and truly hate 15-year-old Spider-Man's entrance and overall presence here. What a joke.
The Steve and Sharon moment is also a joke mostly because the writers completely abandoned her character for 5 years afterwards. Steve never got her that pardon. I don't think anyone even mentions her again. If there's one thing Marvel hates more than gay people it's women.
It's beyond unfortunate how little of Steve and Bucky we actually see in this one and throughout the remainder of the MCU (which is another topic for another day, but you already know what I mean). We're shown again and again through Steve's words and actions that Bucky is his most important person and that nothing will stop Steve from trying to save him. But they're hardly allowed to even touch each other. The reason for this is so glaringly obvious it would feel a little redundant to even spell it out but it really does make me feel kind of sad. Hollywood is evil. Disney is evil.
That being said, their relationship is still deeply heartfelt and personal and it's so obvious in what we do see. Steve's intake of breath before he asks if Bucky knows him. Bucky smiling at Steve for the first time since 1945. The little nods and the ways they're still able to communicate without words. The way Bucky somehow always manages to drift to his left. Steve looking to Bucky again and again only to find Bucky looking right back. Dropping the shield for him, again. I feel like it's easy to forget that the first shield Steve ever picked up for Bucky wasn't even made of vibranium.
And speaking of relationships, it is also beyond irritating to see Tony lash out at everyone who doesn't completely agree with him. Natasha attempts to reach out multiple times, and the outcomes involve him either shutting her down or talking straight shit. Natasha gives him a hand, and he pushes her away, and it's clearly a big reason why she helped Steve in the end, because he trusts and knows her in a way Tony can't.
In a similar vein, there's another scene that is absolutely crucial to Steve and Tony's relationship. When Tony is trying to get Steve to sign the accords, he ends up mentioning his father, and Steve says he's glad he eventually got to settle down. Tony is quick as ever to make a crack about hating hearing about Steve while growing up, and you can see Steve's face fall immediately. Steve, like Natasha, is always willing to reach out a hand to those who need it, but Tony's ego makes him incapable of taking it. Steve and Tony are not as close as the audience is supposed to believe; they are not family. Like this scene alone is incredibly telling. And I feel like the point of a lot of these scenes is that Tony IS in the wrong for doing this to them, but it feels egregious and it's almost painful to watch him do this to himself, hurt others in the process, and get away with it every time.
And while I'm talking about people who actually feel and care for Steve I have to bring up Sam and Natasha's roles in this one. Sam doesn't have too much screentime but he stands out in every scene he's in. He's an incredible person and character and I wish he had been utilized more. He's always by Steve's side and their friendship is genuinely sweet to see, especially compared to some others. He went with him to the funeral and that alone speaks volumes! He's willing to give it all up to help Steve (he spent 2 YEARS helping look for and save someone he believed to be dangerous just because he believes in Steve), but he's also doing all this because HE believes it's the right thing. It's so good. I'll have to dive more into my Sam thoughts another day.
One more thing about Tony and I was really trying hard to sound unbiased here but he deserved to die just for knocking Sam to the ground. He's a bitch. And sidenote a lot of people try to justify his anger and outbursts in this movie and some of it is reasonable to an extent sure but he just keeps doing all this shit and getting away with it and no one has a problem with this. He brought a high schooler to fight Captain America. Come on. And that's not even mentioning Sokovia.
Natasha's character in this movie gets a lot of flack sometimes and I can understand why, but I think people who say so aren't really seeing her for who she is. It's not that she was with Steve all along, or that she couldn't make up her mind, because it isn't really about Team Cap VS Team Iron Man; she's with her whole team. Everything she does is for her team, whether it's SHIELD or the Avengers, because that's her family. She went to meet Steve at the funeral because he is a part of that family and she didn't want him to be alone. She doesn't want any one of them to be alone! And she is good at genuinely listening to people, so she manages to hear the thoughts of Steve and Tony and everyone else in a way others struggle to do. And in the end she chooses to help do what SHE believes is right, not just her team. Staying together is important to her, but not if it means giving up everything else that makes her who she is.
I want to end this with something positive. I think Bucky is very cute. His hat and his Henley are cute. His hair tucked behind his ears was cute in those 2 scenes. What a sweetheart. That post-credit scene was stupid as hell.
Actually I do have to mention how dumb that is. I don't understand why they had to figure out a way to fix his mind. That doesn't even make sense. It's all conditioning and there's no hack for that. That is not how that should work. Maybe I'd be more understanding if they hadn't kept him in Wakanda for the next 2 years but it's bad and it's lazy and it sucks and this is the hand Bucky is going to be dealt for the rest of time.
Steve is a great character. I just wish this movie had been fully about him.
So all in all Civil War is a pretty pitiful excuse for a Captain America movie and I honest to god don't understand how some of this made it through the writer's room. Whatever.
#not even close to everything i wanted to say#but i don't remember. and this has all been said before anyway i'm sure#i've never liked this movie but it does have a spot somewhere in my heart even if it's cold and a little barren#at the end of the day civil war is bad but it could have been worse. it also could have been a lot better

The write up you did about mcu Gamora was applause worthy and I'm thankful you took the time to do it. It's hard to put my feelings into words and I think reading what you wrote was the first time I realized I'm not just disappointed. I'm hurt. I won't speak for other people but as someone who identifies with Gamora's background it was painful to watch her death shoved aside and no effort made to develop 2014 Gamora. Like you said Gamora was a driving force behind the team and the movie was written like she had less significance than a background character.
The worst part for me is how everything felt like a punishment rather than choices meant to heal the wounds inflicted by Infinity War. Instead of having everyone show her more love after what happened there's hardly any love at all from most of the characters. She doesn't get to proudly stand as Guardian either and is turned into a ravager when ravagers don't seem to be held in a particularly high regard by Gunn based on past comemts he's made and the limited focus they have had in the movies. It's like Gunn saw her as less worthy because of what was done to her and it continues to nag at me.
I'm glad you enjoyed it! I have so, so many feelings on how she's been handled and I barely scratched the surface with that post.
Gamora's one of the characters at Marvel that I identify with the most and I think she was truly wonderful representation for abused women. She escapes from that, she got a family that loved her, she was always to exist outside of it-- for two whole movies, she was this wonderful, dynamic character that we got to see heal and grow from her past.
Seeing how volume 3 treated her is brutal. You're completely right about the Ravagers; they're positioned as "less than" & characters like Kraglin & Yondu are "elevated" to Guardian status... so it feels like a downgrade to put Gamora with them, which feels like such a deranged choice considering what happened to her.
I know a lot of people praised volume 3 for being "feminist" for not having Peter and Gamora get back together... but that doesn't really hit when the movie acts like, because they aren't together, she isn't worthy of her family anymore. With every other movie, Gamora was a fully formed character outside of Peter Quill; in volume 3, her whole purpose is to serve his narrative.
It's exhausting. I adore Rocket, but the second Gunn decided to set the movie after Endgame, it needed to be Gamora's story. I think it could've functioned well for Rocket had we stuck it in the almost five year period between volume 2 and Infinity War (I'd argue it would work better, as the ramifications of Endgame don't seem to be felt by Rocket, despite him losing his family for five years).
Gamora got fridged. There's no way around that. But you know what? Barbara Gordon was fridged to-- so a later writer took her and retooled her into a feminist icon, one of DC's best characters.
Gamora doesn't get that chance. She's realistically never going to get that chance; I know Zoe Saldana said she'd return as Gamora if she was asked, but... I don't think she will be.
The last appearance of Gamora is going to be in What If...? and that stings. That show has already had a shaky handle on her, from cutting out her episode, to removing her from any cosmic stories. She's not involved or even mentioned in an episode that heavily involves Nebula & Thanos. She doesn't get to cameo alongside the rest of the Guardians in the Party Thor episode. She's wholly absent, cut out of everything, and it's exhausting.
She was one of the first leading women of this franchise, and the first leading woman of color. Both Gamora and her fans deserve a hell of a lot better than what Marvel has given us.

No offense to Dennis but non except Zendaya have shown they can bring people to theaters. Acting wise yes but box office no.Florence last film grossed 2.4 million DWD barely broke even. Bones and All didn’t even cover its budget. Actually Elvis did well we can give it to Austin but Tom hanks is a huge draw
Anon, I'm pretty sure Denis was primarily referring to his upcoming film "Dune: Part 2", and the 4 actors who are pretty hot right now. 🤷🏾♀️ I think many will go see the film simply because of them. I also think Denis was saying that they all have a great future career ahead of them, and I definitely agree! 😊
Y'all know I don't like to get into fandom wars on here. I think all 4 of them are great! 😁👍🏾
But by your logic, if we're really splitting hairs, Zendaya hasn't really LED a major motion picture film on the big screen yet, so one could argue that ppl are flocking to theaters because of Tom, Marvel, MCU, and the all-star cast of Dune. 🤷🏾♀️ 👀
But there's no doubt in my mind that Zendaya is def going to be a box office draw when she leads her first film. 👍🏾
Interesting that you mention Timothée and "Bones and All", which is an indie film, and one about canabalism (at that), but imo "Wonka" would be a far better comparison when it comes out, to see if Timmy can lead a film with a high box office. 🤷🏾♀️
With Elvis, I think people would have originally flocked to the theaters regardless, since Elvis had (and still has) such a huge fanbase. But you're right, it wouldn't have made as much as it did box office-wise had Austin's performance not been so GOOD. 👍🏾 So I agree with you there. That film had repeat viewings too, so I'm sure if it had sucked ppl wouldn't have been watching it over and over again. While Tom Hanks was I'm sure an initial draw, believe me, that movie wasn't getting repeat viewings due to Tom Hanks lol, no offense 😆
With Florence, I too have mainly seen her in supporting roles, but to me DWD didn't do that well due to all of the negative press surrounding it and all of the drama with the cast members. 🥴
But that's not to say that Florence won't be a box office draw in the future. 🤷🏾♀️
Overall, I think Denis gave a very nice compliment to all 4 of them, and after working with all of them, I'm sure he saw smthg special in each of them, otherwise he wouldn't have given the compliment. 😌
They definitely have the potential to become Hollywood's next GOATs of the future (imo) if they play their cards right. 👍🏾 We're literally watching their careers skyrocket right in front of our eyes! 😊
I don't see the need to try to put down others in order to lift up Zendaya. She's already great! Lol 😅
