You dont get how happy it makes me to see Assad Zaman fanart. Men with South Asian origins get cast as funny & intelligent but never as the object of desire in American film/tv.

#You'd think there'd be a romantic film with Dev Patel by now but no there isnt #even Riz Ahmed doesnt have a movie where someone falls for him outright #Ok Kumail Nanjiani's THE BIG SICK comes close but she's mostly in a coma iirc #I dunno if Kal Penn's short stint on HIMYM counts #he's not written as a desired character is he?#It isnt an accident that Dev Riz Assad are all Brits: the Uk is definitely better at giving diversity a chance #Also i do mean South Asia and not South East Asia coz Keanu Reeves exists (he has some Chinese ancestry)#I'm also not talking about actresses coz that's a separate discussion #Its a shame that actors like Ben Kingsley Boris Karlof etc arent perceived as South Asian just because of their stage names
