Soooo, I started reading “Choices” by “MesserMoon” but had to pause since it literally shattered me. Such a good written story with lovely characters who are all struggling with their own problems. But since I’m currently not strong enough to endure the immense amount of pain that this fanfiction inflicts I started reading “Carpe Noctem” by “evareinadeescocia”. And that one‘s also a ride let me tell you! But it is supposed to have a happy ending (it’s not finished yet) sooo I’m intrigued for now!

I just finished “Carpe Noctem” and honestly: THIS! At the beginning of the chapter 37 the author evareinadeescocia apologizes for the following chapters being “utter shit”.

Well first of all: NO. They sirius-ly (I will never stop with this, better get used to it) are not. I loved them as I loved the rest of the story. And I’m really looking forward to the next update!

But also, I kinda get it. I get feeling like your work is never good enough. So please let me tell you from the bottom of my heart: you’re doing great. All of you lovely writers are. With your stories, your ideas, your fantasy you literally have a massive impact in my life (and the life of countless others).

when you were mine by battlehamster. if choices is the definitive canon compliant fic, wywm is the definitive au <3

carpe noctem by evareinadeescocia. i consider this choices’ nice sibling (not that i’m just comparing it to another fic… carpe noctem is amazing!) also, regulus is a seer so that’s very fun and fresh.

drugs and surgical scrubs by anauro. this is a nice flip of the usual jegulus narrative. regulus helps james in this one (but james helps regulus too without realizing)

lose yourself to me by 80sdays. shorter chapters, but it updates very frequently and is very, very cute. au, non-canon compliant.

glimpses of heaven by lunahunt. it’s really early into the fic, but it’s already so good!!

best friend’s brother by zeppazariel. this fic is a lot of fun to read. there are sad moments, but it’s a nice au to get breaks from all the canon compliance

anywhere i want (just not home) by squide. still takes place at hogwarts and everything, but not canon compliant! regulus lives with andromeda in this one and i love it

favorite liar by ashhaxkerman. we love a fake dating au.

don’t worry, darlin’ by achlyss. it can be very sad, but it can also be very sweet. also the marauders have a band and that’s totally a selling point.
