The relationship between Eve and Ichina continues to be one of my favorite aspects of this season. The trust that the two of them have demonstrated with each other really warms my heart, and you can see how they've each made each other stronger. It's impossible to imagine the Eve of Season 1 being willing to make a decision like this, but she's able to put her trust in what Ichina tells her. And Ichina in turn is able to turn off the logical part of her brain on the 18th and fully put her trust in Eve's golf being able to push through.

And at the end, Eve obtains an even greater power, one that stuns Leo as he realizes that Eve has managed to reach the golf that he and Kazuhiko could never visualize. Eve has now fully surpassed her mentors and reached the ultimate level of golf.

This is a really fascinating rubric to look at the series through. People make a lot of jokes about the Golf Mafia because it's an inherently over the top concept, but the entire series really is built on the idea of golfers and their powerful backers, whether those be the illicit type or a public facing company. Just as the characters are prisoners of their own parents ambition, they are also prisoners of what their sponsors demand of them.
When you look at the conflict of the two main protagonists, you have Eve who wants nothing more to be free, and Aoi, who we just saw being symbolically depicted as being chained by her mother. This also continues to their caddies, as Ichina is joining Eve in her quest for freedom even if it means dropping out of school and traveling to a country she's never been to, while Amane in the last episode referred to herself as a prisoner.
The question of how Eve can be free if she becomes a professional is a good one. I would imagine that in the short term she might have to put up with being beholden to a backer, most likely her grandfather, but as part of a longer term plan to battle Aoi on her own terms and achieve freedom for both of them. Eve and Aoi's parents were all prisoners of what the previous generation expected of them, and it's time to break that chain with a bullet.
Something i find interesting about Birdie Wing is that it’s very preoccupied with affiliation and money and resources. Helene Roberts is from a rich family- she has access to a very pretty golf course. Rose works for Catherine and Vipere works for Nicholas. This means they have very conditional backing and access to money: If they win they’ll earn money, if they lose they’ll be physically injured. The students are affiliated with their schools and only have support as good as the schools provide, like no other school having caddies, and Iijima being super caught up in Amuro leaving. Leo has multiple patrons, which allows him to go around doing whatever he wants. Reiya, Kazuhiko, and Seira are Athena players, so they’re pushed extremely hard, have to abide by weird golf arranged marriages, but get the monetary support of a huge corporation. Eleanor can learn and play golf happily but has to contend with the danger of being related to the mafia. Aoi is the poster child of Athena, so she gets lessons from the best mentors, a caddie with high tech expertise to help her, fancy custom equipment, and a lot of money at the company’s disposal to demolish any obstacle, even in unethical ways (Digging into Eve’s background, then kidnapping her and forcing her out of the country). Athena gets an entire tournament set up just to prop up her image! In return, she’s being forced to destroy her own body trying to  live up to other people’s expectations. Every golfer is explicitly defined by their network.
Eve, on the other hand, is defined by her lack of network. She’s the kid of two good golfers who both die when she’s young. She’s taught by Leo but he abandons her. She plays for Catherine against Nicholas, then, when the need arises, she plays for Nicholas against Catherine. She makes money to support her friends but then leaves them behind to keep them safe. She plays on a school team with Aoi, but upends the friendship to compete with her and then gets unenrolled from the school. Currently she’s accepting help from Arios, while trying to keep her distance (saying she won’t reach out to the Burtons, refusing to tell her grandfather her name).
As she says in S2E4, Eve want to be free. That’s her motivation throughout the series: she needs to make money for her and her friends to escape their situation, she wants to get out of the danger of the mafia, she wants to play golf against people that excite her. But if she is to become a professional golf player, by the logic of the show, she has to be beholden to someone. So in the end, what could a happy ending for her look like?

The relationship between Eve and Ichina is so good. No questions needed, she's ready to drop everything for her. And it shows just how much Eve, who had relied on no one but herself her whole life, has come to really trust and rely on Ichina since they first teamed up.
Get yourself a caddy who will drop out of school and travel across the world to a mafia torn country to help you go pro

Birdie Wing has really gone full soap opera in the best way this episode. Seeing the relationship between Eve and Kazuhiko in the past is really sweet, and I'm glad that they didn't waste anytime in getting to the expected reveal that Aoi's real father was Reiya, not Kazuhiko.

Of course, it's not enough for us as an audience to understand this, but Eve and Aoi need to as well. This rooftop scene is perfect, pitting both of their memories and lived experiences against one another, before Eve cuts through to the truth and it comes crashing down on Aoi, perfectly symbolized by the weather going on. I really like this because it shows how bright Eve is as a character despite the way that she's normally viewed by others.

And then understanding finally comes to Aoi about the other man who has been in her life since she was a child, the man whose golf she takes after even more than her own father. Her understanding of her own life is reborn standing on the rooftop as the rain and tears fall down.

The Burton family give Eve their conditions for supporting her golf. She's essentially going to be fully in on the Arios train. The mafia control things behind the scenes, while the public facing golf world is controlled by the golf brands. In season 1 we saw this as a dichotomy between Eve, whose life was controlled by the Mafia, and Aoi, whose life was controlled by her mother, the Amawashi group and the Athena brand. With Season Two we have met the Burton family who make the whole the implicit themes of the first season explicit in case you haven't noticed them by now. To the outside world their the owners of the Arios golf brand and upstanding company, while in the underworld, the Burton family are a powerful mafia who even Catherine can't go up against. These aren't actually two separate worlds after all; rather they are two sides of the same coin. Both the Amawashi group and the mafia families look to control young golfers in order to profit off of them, all that is different is their method of control. Seira is terrified of Aoi getting involved with the mafia in any way, but the truth is that her life is already being controlled by such a force, just as Seira's was before that by her own father's ambition to grow the Amawashi group.

And Eve tells us what she wants, a golf to escape the world of greed entirely. It doesn't matter what she has to do to get there, but what she desires is a way to fight against top golfers like Aoi on her own terms in a world of pure golf. She's done with the cheap tricks of people like Rimelda or Vipere who are cheapening the game of golf. She might have to wander through a world filled with greed in order to get to her destination, but she's ready to find the golf that blows her mind. Ichina is fully in sync with Eve here as they're both ready to walk into a new world. Eve's end goal is to be able to play this pure golf and have her fill of all that the world has to offer.
