𝔀𝓪𝓻𝓷𝓲𝓷𝓰: smut, little bit of edging, slight dirty talk and praising, pet names, fingering, ‘you belong to be’ vibe towards end, swearing.
𝓼𝓾𝓶𝓶𝓪𝓻𝔂: you and Evan have been friends with benefits for a while now, but you longed for something more. In fear of that never happening, you decide to go on dates, trying to find your match. One date ends badly, and you.. confide in Evan. Does he also long to be more than just fuck buddies? or is he content with this situation?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You and Evan aren’t together,

You both agreed it’s nothing more than sex, just something casual.

So why the hell do you feel so guilty getting ready for a date? You should have butterflies in your stomach. I mean, fuck, you’re going out with one of the hottest dudes you’ve ever seen.

But instead, you feel nothing but guilt — maybe even shame? How could you have had sex with Evan not even three hours ago, and now you're getting ready for a date? What does this make you? A slut, maybe?

-

You’re almost ready; dressed, hair done, just finishing your makeup in the bathroom mirror. But that feeling of guilt is still not going away — you should be excited, blissful, fucking giddy. But you’re not, and you don’t quite understand why. Well, you do understand why; it’s because you think you and Evan will be something. but you won’t; it’s just sex, we’re just friends. You remind yourself before walking out of the bathroom.

You see Evan in the kitchen; he’s on the phone again, probably talking to Chris or something.

You try to sneak past and slip your shoes on, wanting to stay undetected.

“You look nice, love,” you hear Evan say from the kitchen. You look up and see him leaning against the doorway of the living room, phone in his hands.

“Thank you,” you reply happily, grinning softly, despite the circumstances.

“Where are you going?”

“Oh, um, a date.” You speak quietly, all feelings of joy suddenly gone.

You can't find it in you to look at him when you say this. You know the relationship is casual, but a part of you longs for it to be something different, something more than just sex.

“Have fun, then. Stay safe, darling,” he replies gently after a moment. “I’ll be here when you get back,” he adds, before disappearing into the kitchen.

You hadn’t expected him to be mad, or even the slightest bit bitter. You were an adult—a single adult at that. You’re allowed to go on a date you tell yourself.

You wish you could say the date went well, but in reality, it was terrible.

You couldn’t stop thinking about Evan Buckley.

his hands, and the way they caressed your body, grabbing it and pulling it close to his.

his lips, leaving sloppy wet trails of kisses along your neck, all the way down to your..

and his beautiful body — fuck. You wish you were with him now.

And your date was something else, he wouldn’t stop talking about his plans for the future, which wouldn’t be all bad if you weren’t thinking about what you wanted Evan to do to you tonight.

But God, did your date go on and on, only asking about you when it was relevant to his plans. not to mention his boring hobbies, which he just had to tell you about.

So was it really a surprise when your first thought when you arrived home was to be in Evan's bed? No, not really.

“Evan,” you whimper as he softly kisses your neck.

He slowly unbuttons your shirt, teasing you as he removes the buttons one by one, kissing your neck sloppily in between. Finally, he slides your shirt to the ground once the buttons are completely undone.

“So needy, hm?” He tuts, sliding his tongue down your chest, gently kissing your tits.

“All mine,” he mumbles into your chest. You can feel the grin on his lips as they make their way against yours once more.

lips still pressed together, he backs you into the wall, smashing your body against it. You break the kiss only for a moment to catch your breath.

“Pants,” he groans, hooking his fingers in the waistband of your pants. “Off,” he demands, sliding them down painfully slowly, all the way to your feet.

You step out of the pants and kick them to the side while his tongue makes its way into your mouth.

You moan at the new sensation in your mouth. You move one hand to cup his cheek, while the other lands in his hair.

“Bed.” He pants after breaking the kiss, and without saying anything else, you and Evan make your way through the living room into your bedroom. He pushes you onto the bed and unbuttons his shirt.

You watch him carefully, never taking your eyes away from his body. You watch as he slips his shirt off and climbs on the bed, kneeling right in front of you.

“Bra off,” he commands, watching you unclip your bra without hesitation and throw it to the floor. “Good fucking girl, hm?” He praises you, grabbing your face and kissing you sloppily, the kiss travels down to your chest once more.

Evan brings a hand up to cup your tit while he licks around your sensitive nipples.

“Evan, please,” you whine pathetically, needing more of him.

Evan grins and slips your panties off, tossing them aside, leaving you completely exposed.

He begins to pump his fingers into your cunt, and unlike before, it’s aggressive and passionate. “You like that, darling?" He mocks you, hearing you gasp the faster he goes.

You cannot form a reply due to the fact that his fingers are slamming repeatedly into your g spot.

“I asked you a question; don’t be rude,” he scolds lightly, removing his fingers from your dripping cunt.

“Yes, Evan, fuck,” you moan in response, feeling empty at the loss of his fingers.
Evan groans in approval and spreads your legs, slipping down on the bed just enough so his mouth is perfectly aligned with your glistening pussy.

He slides his tongue in, circling your clit slowly. “Mine, all mine,” he rasps before continuing to tease your sensitive pussy.

“Evan, please,” you beg helplessly. “I need to come, please.”

“You’ll come, baby, trust me,” he promises, lifting his head up from your dripping wet cunt. “But not before you tell me whose pussy this is.” He whispers into your ear, sliding his fingers back into your pussy.

He’s never said that before, but you don’t care; all you can feel is yourself getting closer, just from his fingers and tongue alone. You begin to push yourself on his fingers, trying to get off faster, needing more.

You’re so lost in arousal that you completely forgot to respond to Evan's command, but he doesn’t forget.

“Spread your legs and answer my question, or you won’t be finishing at all tonight.” He orders, pulling your legs apart and licking around, but not yet in your soaking cunt.

You spread your legs further than before, exposing your wet pussy to him. You lift your head and see a possessive glint in his eyes, an edge to his expression. This makes you impossibly wetter, and you plead for Evan to let you come.

“Evan,” you whine, your hands reaching up to wipe the sweat from your forehead. “Please, I need to come,” you beg, not knowing how much longer you can wait.

“Shh, I know, love.” He promises again, “But you need to tell me who you belong to; I think someone’s forgotten.”

Shivers run down your spine at his words, feeling even more turned on. “You, Evan,” you pant, feeling an overwhelming sense of relief when you feel him slide his fingers into you once again, bringing you closer to the edge.

“me? What about me, love?”

“I belong - god.” You cut yourself off with a moan, feeling evan hit your g spot once again.

“You belong?” he asks, grinning cockily.

“I belong to you!” You pant, noticing Evan's unoccupied hand make its way to your chest again.

“And what about these?” He challenges you, circling his finger around the sensitive bud of your nipple, making you gasp in pleasure.

“Yours,” you groan, your heartbeat quickening as it’s all too much.

“That’s right, all mine,” he whispers against your breast before taking one of your nipples into his mouth, torturing the bud with his tongue, before moving onto the other nipple and repeating his actions. leaving both nipples swollen and even more sensitive than before.

He lifts his head up once more. “You’re all mine; you got that?” He asks, pushing you even closer to the edge by thrusting his fingers in, then completely removing them. Repeating this until you give him an answer.

“Y-yes!” You choke on the words, tears streaming down your face, needing to finish more than anything.

He approves your response, and finally, finally let’s you finish. The sense of relief is overwhelming. You come with Evan's name on your lips. You know it’s not a lie; you’re Evans, and honestly, you wouldn’t want it any other way.

Bruises and Surprises

Summary: When Eddie is acting off and then comes home late Evan and Y/N start to worry. But when they find out why he's been acting off, it causes some problems.
Pairing: Eddie Diaz x fem!reader x Evan Buckley
Wordcount: 2.5k
Warnings: angst, fluff, swearing possibly, mentions of violence and injuries
A/N: This was inspired by @megalony Late Night Fights. I hope you guys enjoy this, thank you for the support.
____
The four of them sat at Eddie's kitchen table that morning. Both Evan and Y/N had the day off, Chris was going over to a friends house for a sleepover today. And Eddie decided to pick up an extra shift at the fire house.
"You know you didn't have to take that shift Eddie." Y/N says as he pours coffee into a turmos mug. It was rare that the three of them had a day off at the same time. So naturally she was a little disappointed when Eddie said he chose to do an extra 12 hours.
"I didn't realize you were off today, I'm sorry mi amour." He says dropping a kiss on the top of her head.
"You got all your stuff ready Chris?" Chris nods at Eddie's question and then gets up to go grab his things.
"You know there's no harm in taking a day off right. I mean you've been working a lot lately." Evan pitches in concern evident in his voice. As he puts his mug down on the table.
"You should be taking better care of yourself Eds." She said putting a hand on her stomach, masking a slight discomfort that made it's appearance.
"You two are blowing this way out of proportion." Eddie had been acting off lately. He was shorter tempered and he had been picking up a lot of extra hours. He was tired and overall frustrated often. They were both a little worried. Y/N hadn't seen him act this way for a long time. She was getting really worried.
The last time Eddie had acted this way she ended up getting a call say that he needed to be bailed out of jail. But she hadn't seen any bruises or marks on him, maybe she was over reacting.
"Why don't you call in sick?" Evan proposed, only to receive a scoff from Eddie.
"I said I'd be there, Buck. Come on, Chris!" Eddie gave them both a quick kiss before his son finally entered the room. Y/N and Evan said goodbye to Chris and just like that the house became quiet.
"He's acting strange right?" She asked Buck, her hands wrapped around the mug as she stared at the dark liquid before glancing at him.
"Yeah, he is." Evan confirmed.
~~~
Y/N stood in the kitchen cutting vegetables for supper. Two hands made their way to her waist and then her front. Buck leaned his chin on her shoulder as she hummed along to the song playing.
"Why don't you go sit?"
"Babe, I'm fine." She told him pausing to look up at him, kissing him on the cheeks.
"You were sick all morning." He presses. She put the knife down and turned in his arms so she was facing him. Her hands came up to cup his jaw.
"I promis, I feel fine. Good even." She spoke softly giving him her full attention. He let out a sigh searching for something unusual in her features only to find nothing.
"You promis? And if you start to feel even a little off you'll go sit?"
"Yes baby, I promise." She gave him a sweet smile and a kiss on the cheek.
"Well, then let me help. What can I do?" Evan asked going over to the sink to wash his hands.
"You can take over cutting while I get started on the sauce." She took a pot out and placed it beside the one with water. They didn't get to cook together often. It was often Buck or Y/N never Eddie. They were scared they wouldn't have a kitchen by the end of it, or taste buds.
By the time everything was ready it was 8pm. Late compared to 'normal' hours but their schedule was so weird that they got used to eating at odd hours.
"Shouldn't Eddie be home by now?" Y/N asked looking up at Evan with worry.
"His call must have run late. It happens all the time." He reassured her wrapping a hand around her waist and hugging her, his head going down to her neck.
"We should wait for him."
They ended up eating an hour and a half later. Without Eddie.
It was 11pm when Y/N wanted to go to bed but was to busy paissing their living room.
"This can't just be a call Evan."
"Sweetheart-"
"Theres no way he has been on a call for over 3 hours!" He was also getting worried, he just didn't want to show it. It wasn't impossible, but another unit would have gotten there and they would have been able to go back to the station, and back home.
"Baby stop, please." He gently grabbed her arms stopping her movements.
"How about you go to bed-" she shook her head and open her mouth to protest but Evan stopped her.
"How about you go to bed and try to sleep, and I'll go down to the station and see what's going on." She let out a sigh, hesitating.
"Your exhausted and you have work in the morning, Sweetheart. I wasn't really asking." Evan made himself more clear. Her hands went to his biceps and his to her waist.
"Fine."
~~~
It was dark in the house when he came home. Using his hands to make sure he didn't run into anything.  When he reached the kitchen he turned the light over the sink on. He grabbed the first aid kit from the top of the fridge groaning from the pain it caused.
He took his shirt off letting it fall to the ground, he looked down spotting the dark bruises painting the various parts of his body. He took out some rubbing alcohol and cream setting them on the counter.
"Eddie?"
He turned around to find Y/N standing in the doorway of the kitchen. She was just about to fall asleep when she heard the front door.
"Baby where have you been? Why didn't you answer your phone?" She rushed forward only for her to stop a few feet away from him. A small gasp left her when she actually took the time to look at him.
"A call ran late, I'm sorry." He explained. She approached him gently running her fingure tips over a bruise on his stomach to which he winced.
"Eddie..." His name was spoken so softly he barely caught it.
"It was a rough one. It looks worse than it is, mi amour." He said, he put a hand on her arm trying to comfort her. But then she caught sight of his bloody and bruised knuckles. She took in a sharp breath standing up straighter. It all clicked in her head.
"You've been fighting again, haven't you?" She looked at him disappointment flooding her eyes.
"What? No, of course not." The slight hesitant in his voice told her otherwise.
"Edmundo, do not lie to me." She said angerly, tears welling up in her eyes despite her attempts to stop them. He took a deep breath closing his eyes and tilting his head slightly up.
He wasn't planning to do it again but a few weeks back an old buddy from back when he did illegal fighting contacted him. Said then needed someone because some guy left last minute. It was supposed to be a one time thing. But one turned to two, and two to three until it got out of hand.
"Baby-"
"Why!? Why would you possibly do that again?!" She was livid, rightfully so. She took a step back until she hit the kitchen island.
"It's complicated." He said looking back at her. Letting out a sigh, he didn't want to explain.
"Complicated? How could it be Complicated? This was in the past, we left it there, with the lawsuit, and the heartache and- and jail. We talked about this."
"It's not the same. I'm careful I know what I'm doing." He tries to explain, but it wasn't good enough.
"You also knew what you where doing when you broke that guys nose!" She yelled, not hearing the front door over their arguing.
"That's not fair."
"Look at yourself!" He swallowed hard. He was littered with cuts and bruises. He knew he shouldn't come home looking like this.
"Eddie?" Evan stood at the other end of the kitchen, his voice caused them both to look over at him.
Y/N kept a concern look on her face but a weight on her shoulders was lifted knowing that Buck was home and okay, it was one less thing to worry about. Eddie seemed surprised, he though Evan was sleeping.
"Thank God, your okay. I've been looking everywhere for you." Evan drops his keys on the counter and rushed to hug his boyfriend. Y/N letting out a sigh and ran a hand through her hair.
Eddie inhaled sharply as Buck hugged him and winced. He returned the affection and then pulled away a little.
"Buck." It was strained and said through gritted teeth because of the pain. When he finally pulled away he got a good look at Eddie.
"What the hell happened?" He said anger in his tone. When no one answered he turned to his girlfriend for help.
"You don't talk about fight club right?" She said sarcasticly causing Eddie to roll his eyes.
"What?" Bucks face filled with confusing looking between the two.
"He's fighting again." She explained moving to the other side of the island to create space between her and the boys.
"What!? Why?" He turns to Eddie brows furrowed, he wasn't there when he did the fights in the past. Y/N was. He had heard of some of them from her, like the one where he broke a guy's nose so bad he choked on a piece of cartilage.
"Can we please not have this conversation again." Eddie felt like they were going around in circles, and it didn't help when his girlfriend just pick up the conversation where they left off when Evan arrived.
"They know what there doing as much as you do. How do you know how it's going to end? Next time it could be you, and they won't stay to help you, they'll leave you there." She didn't want to fight with her boys tonight, not with all the stress that she was under. Today was supposed to be a good day, and it only seemed to take a turn for the worst.
"Y/N-"
"She's right, I thought you were donne with it Eddie." Evan cuts in, concern and confusion evident on his face and in his voice.
"Apparently not." She muttered her hand rubbing her temple
"Do you know how much you scared us tonight?" Evan tried to make him understand. Y/N started to feel a slight discomfort, but she was unsure from what.
"I'm sorry." He really did feel bad, he knew he was extremely late. The missed phone calls and texts were unlike him.
He fished his phone from his pocket and set it on the counter. The screen was shattered and the back metal panel was missing a few pieces falling out of the phone as he sets it down.
"Eddie you can't start doing this again, I wasn't there when you did it before but Y/N told me it got pretty brutal." Evan explained his concern about his past, scared that it might repeat.
"Look it's just a few fights, and they help. I come home and I'm not angry or impatient." Eddie tried to reassure them but it wasn't working. He ran a hand through his hair.
"No, you come home bloody and bruised. Like thats any better." Y/N pitched back in sarcasm lassed in her voice. A hand going to her stomach now understanding where the discomfort came from
"Eddie you can't keep doing this, not after tonight." Evan almost pleaded.
"You don't get it!" He argued back, getting more frustrated by the minute. Y/N winced gripping the counter with her free hand.
"Then explain." Evan continued to try and reason with him but nothing seemed to work.
"I can't!" Eddie shouted, the two boys to engrossed in their argument to see the clear pain their girl was in.
"This isn't healthy, I though you talked about it with your therapist." Buck continued to try and understand.
"Evan-" He was cut off by Y/N.
"Uhh! Will you two stop!" She was hunched over, one hand still on the counter for support the other on her stomach. A pained look on her face.
"Y/N?" Eddie turned to her and took a few steps in her direction.
"Baby, what's wrong?" Evan was extremely concerned. He rounded the island and stood beside her placing a hand on her hip.
"You two are stressing me."
"Mi amour, that can't be stress." Eddie gently rubs circles into her back.
"Since when does stress cause you pain?" Evan asked, she stood back up straight.
"Since I've been pregnant."
They both look at each other, wanting to have confirmation they heard the same thing.
"Pregnant?"
"Baby, are you sure?"
"I was hoping for a little more excitement boys." She remarked.
"Okay, how about we get you to the couch?" Eddie spoke looking at Evan.
Once she was seated on the couch the boys sat on either side of her.
"How long have you known?" She looked over at Buck and took a deep inhale.
"A week." She leaned back until her back hit the couch and looked between the boy. Trying to see both their reactions.
"Why didn't you tell us?"
"I was going to, but you both have such a hectic work schedule that I was trying to find the right time. And then Eddie decided to work today so... This isn't how I wanted to tell you." She looked down at her hands in her lap.
She had spent so much time trying to plan the perfect moment. Tonight was gonna be it over some dinner the three of them. So they could figure out how to tell Chris together. But everything went wrong, it usually did with them. The execution was terrible, but the result was always good. Buck set a hand on her shoulder squeezing slightly to give her a little comfort.
"Where does it hurt?" Eddie asked concern painted on his face.
She looked over at him and set her hand on her lower stomach to show him. He reached over lifting her shirt a little and pressing a hand in different areas. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary.
"I'm sorry baby." He apologized glancing between her and Evan. He hated that he had cause this. The stress and pain. He never wanted this to happen.
"It's just you two are constantly risking your life at work. I don't-"
"Hey, I get. I won't go to the fights anymore, I swear." Eddie stopped her to explain. He understood how much this meant to her to both of them. She gave him a small smile before it turned to a frown when she spotted Evan leaning down to be slightly above her stomach
"Now, you gotta stop giving trouble to your mom little guy." She let out a giggle running her hand in his hair only to lift his face and give him a kiss
"I don't think thats how it works Buck."

Say Don't Go

Evan "Buck" Buckley x fem!reader
summary: tensions rise between you and Buck as you find out that he works for you uncle and he learns you're Bobby's niece, forcing the two of you to make a decision on where your relationship stands
word count: 3k
part one part three part four part five part six
Buck could not believe it. The first woman he was attracted to in months was Bobby’s niece? He really was always getting dealt a shit hand. He was going to ask you out on an official date and bring you flowers and shower you with compliments and make stupid jokes to make the both of you less nervous. He supposed now that it was only a pipe dream. And all because you were related to his boss.
“Bobby, I didn’t know you had a niece,” Buck spoke up, trying to seem nonchalant, as if he didn’t feel like he was going to throw up. And he did, the idea of running to the restroom sounding real inviting.
“She’s my sister’s kid,” Bobby replied, pulling you into his side in a protective manner then pointed at the man. “Don’t get any ideas, Buck,” he said with a wink, but the threat seemed very serious. Too bad the ship had already sailed and was on the verge of sinking.
You eyed Buck and shook your head as if to tell him to not come any closer. You wanted to speak to him about the whole situation, but you couldn’t without everyone noticing that the two of you had disappeared and jumped to their own conclusions. You were going to have to meet on your own time to avoid suspicions. Especially Bobby’s.
The man had become very protective of you since the day you were born and would continue to do so until he took his last breath. Since your father was never in the picture, he felt the need to step up and be exactly what you needed. He was there for everything: your first steps, helping you ride a bike without training wheels, your first date. Yes, he sat in the back row of the movie theater, watching the two of you like a hawk, making sure the kid didn’t try anything.
Bobby would not have been happy if he found out that Buck had even looked at you in a flirty manner let alone slept with you. It wasn’t that he didn’t think that Buck wasn’t fit to be your boyfriend, but more like any man wasn’t fit for the role.
You eyed Buck practically the entire time but tried not to draw attention to yourself as you did it. Tension was rising and you really hoped that no one else could see it. Especially since you were the guest of honor and couldn’t fade into the background like you desperately wanted to.
“Everyone,” Bobby stood behind you, resting his hands on your shoulders. “This is my niece, y/n. And I expect you all to welcome her as an honorary member of the 118. She’s going to be here for a while. Y/n, this is Hen and her wife Karen,” he pointed to the Black woman who was standing next to Buck. She gave you a hug and you were quick to return it. “And Buck and his sister, Maddie.” You looked at Buck and didn’t miss the look on his face as your eyes glanced at him to look at his sister. His face was white. Almost as if he had seen a ghost. You ignored it for the moment and tried your best to listen to Bobby’s introductions of his team. “And that’s Chimney,” Bobby gestured to the Asian man who was on Buck’s other side. Oh, you so had to hear the backstory about that nickname. “And Eddie and his son, Christopher.” You turned your attention to one of the most beautiful men you had ever seen and a young boy who was using crutches.
Hugs were all passed around as you were introduced and you all mingled as you sipped on your drinks, waiting for dinner to be ready. You got into a conversation with Maddie about nursing, but you couldn’t help but let your eyes wander to her brother who had been in what looked a deep conversation with Eddie. You couldn’t help but feel like word about your night together was somehow going to get to your uncle and you didn’t even know why you cared so much. You were an adult now and really had no reason to hide to from Bobby. Maybe he’d be a little upset at first, but he’d come around.
“So, that’s the girl you hooked up with the other night?” Eddie asked, holding back a laugh. It was just too good, almost like the plot of a telanovela he’d watched with Christopher. Of course something like that would have happened to Buck. That sounded exactly like something that would have happened to him.
“Yes,” Buck nodded.
“And she’s Bobby’s niece?” All Buck could do was glare at Eddie. It was almost as if he wasn't listening at all. And for once, this was a very serious matter. His life was doomed as he knew it and Eddie was just laughing it off as if it was all just a big joke. And Buck supposed that maybe it was.
“Yes. Weren’t you listening?” He was now on edge, for whatever reason, feeling paranoid that Bobby had been listening even though the man was all the way across the room joking around with Michael.
“Hey, relax," Eddie pat his friend's shoulder. Sometimes Buck just really needed to relax. "I’m just making sure I’m getting the facts right. I can't believe that out of all of the people in Los Angeles that you slept with Bobby's niece. Oh, Chim is gonna get a kick out of this."
Eddie burst into laughter, really getting a kick out of his friend's pain, but he couldn't help it. It was all just too funny to not laugh a little at the unfortunate events of his friend's life. He was just happy that he wasn't in Buck's shoes.
“But you're not gonna tell Chim," he gave Eddie a warning look. "This secret dies with us. And I swear if you tell Bobby-" Both of the men knew that whatever threat came out of Buck's mouth would be empty, but Eddie wanted to know what would have been in store for him if he had broken his promise.
“You’ll do what, Buck?” He crossed his arms over his chest, tilting his head to the side in curiosity.
“I don’t know, but It’ll be bad.”
“Sure, whatever you say, buddy." Eddie gave his shoulder a pat as Bobby had everyone gather around before they all sat down to eat.
“Alright, everyone dinner is served and before we sit, I’d to make a toast,” Bobby spoke up and you could see his eyes getting misty already. “The moment I held you after you were born, I knew that you’d be destined for greatness,” he started and you knew that his speech was going to be a tear jerker just like always.
“I remember when you were three and insisted on fixing my “wounds” with your little doctor’s kit that I had gotten you for Christmas. You told me that you were going to be a nurse and save lives and look at you now. You graduated nursing school and got a job at your first choice hospital. I’m so proud of you, kiddo. So, if everyone would raise their glasses.” Everyone did as they asked as Bobby raised his own that was filled with soda. “To y/n,” he said.
“To y/n,” everyone repeated and they all clinked their glasses together before cheering, giving you a round of applause. After the excitement died down, everyone sat down at the table, the only spot available being the one to the left of you that Buck was reluctant to occupy.
“Oh-“ he said, cutting himself off and everyone was quick to turn to him. To them, it was just the only available seat. To you and Buck, though, it was more than that. If he sat next to you, the awkward tension would only rise and Buck really didn’t want to make it all about him when this was your party.
“You can sit there, Buck,” Bobby told him. “Y/n doesn’t bite.” Buck’s mind immediately flashed to a couple of nights ago when you had done just that. When you had actually bitten him and been the cause of the healing hickey on his neck.
“Yeah, Buck,” youpulled the chair out for him to take a seat. “I don’t bite,” you winked, a joke just between the two of you. Buck hesitantly sat next to you, being very obvious unlike you. He might as well have just told the entire table that the two of you had slept together while he was at it.
“So, y/n,” Hen spoke up. “What’s your position at the hospital?”
“Labor and delivery,” you told her. You always loved the idea of bringing new life into the world and after doing a few residencies and following nurses around who did just that, you knew that was the career for you.
“That’s so admirable,” Hen smiled warmly. Just from what Bobby had told her about you, she was sure that you were going to do really well in the medical field. That you were a hard worker and never took no for an answer. “I’m sure you’re going to do great.”
“Well, thank you. And thank you, Robert, for this amazing celebration,” you gestured to the all of the nurse themed decorations all over the main level of the house and even out on the patio where you were all sitting.
“That was actually all Athena,” Bobby corrected, feeling like he should’ve let his wife take the credit for all the hard work she put in to make the house look nice.
“Well, thank you, Athena,” you turned to the woman she nodded enthusiastically, wanting you to know just how much she enjoyed planning the entire thing for you, knowing that it meant a lot to Bobby because of how close he was to you.
“Of course,” she replied. “It was my absolute pleasure.”
You looked around at everyone sitting at the table and despite not knowing most of them, you felt but nothing but loved sitting at that table, discussing everything and nothing as you all ate the meal that Bobby prepared for you all. You had felt alone your entire life, only having Scarlett, your mom, and Bobby as your family and now all of the people he had been closest to were welcoming you into their world with open arms, and you couldn’t help but feel more lucky.
You hesitantly turned to Buck and noticing him picking around his plate, the dish almost full signifying that he hadn’t really eaten anything. And you didn’t blame him. You hadn’t much of an appetite either considering the whole situation and for a second there, you completely had forgotten about him. It seemed that neither of you had the best luck in the dating apartment, so of course, as fate would have it, you couldn’t be together. Or more like shouldn’t considering the whole situation. It would have just been weird and awkward and maybe it would have just been for the best if you just left it at a one night stand.
Dinner came to a close and by the end of it, you were all sharing funny stories from your careers and just from the one meal you had with them, you knew you were going to enjoy spending more time with them. Maybe if you asked Bobby, you all could have had more meals together like you had heard they did at the 118. You would have really enjoyed that. You were really looking forward to having a real family.
The members of the 118 all lingered at the door like usual, all hesitant to go back to their homes. All except Buck. He was getting antsy to get the hell out of there and to probably never speak to you again. He could run into a burning building without batting an eye, but when it came to his personal life, all he wanted to do was run away. He absolutely hated confrontation and was going to avoid the inevitable as long as possible.
He looked at you, watching you laugh with his sister and could easily see the three of you getting together for dinner. You'd sit next to him and his hand would reach for yours and you'd give him a warm smile as Maddie looked at the both of you, so happy that her brother had finally real, true love.
The dream quickly faded away as Buck accepted that he was going to let you slip through his fingers. The whole thing was just too complicated and he wasn't going to put you through all of that, especially since you were just getting started with your career. You already had too much on your plate and he didn't think there was enough room for him.
"Right, Buck?" Bobby asked, giving his shoulder a pat and Buck turned to the man in confusion, not even aware that he was even being spoken to.
"I'm sorry, what?" You were still swirling around in his mind even though he was trying hard to focus on what Bobby had been saying.
"You're coming in on time tomorrow, right?" He had still been teasing about him being late a couple of days ago and Buck just rolled his eyes. Now he didn't have a reason to be late anymore and he kind of hated it.
"Yes sir," Buck nodded. "Good night, Bobby."
"Good night, Buck." Bobby gave his shoulder a squeeze and Buck gave you one last look before turning on his heel to head to his jeep.
You watched Buck walk to his vehicle, wondering why he had said goodbye to everyone but you. What, so he found out that you were Bobby's niece and now he was giving you the silent treatment? How was that fair? Maybe everything that happened that night was all part of an act and now he was just showing you his true self.
So maybe that night wasn't as special to you as it was to him. You had even considered asking him out, but now you guessed you had just dogged a bullet. He was just like the other's and at least this one saved you the headache by ghosting you instead of pursuing you only to show no interest in you the entire duration the relationship. You supposed it saved you some tissues knowing who he was from the get go.
One week later
You pulled up to the fire station, feeling anger course through you as you put Scarlett's car in park. You had tried to reach out to Buck multiple times since the party only to be met by nothing but silence. Even if nothing happened between the two of you, you felt like you at least deserved an explanation. Didn't your feelings matter too? Apparently not to him.
So, you decided to show up the one place he couldn't run from so you could have a conversation with him. You weren't sure how you were going to do that with all those people around, but you'd figure things out. You always did.
You marched into the station, scanning the place for Buck and noticed that everyone was surrounding the engine, wiping it down or cleaning the interior. Eddie was the first to spot you and he pointed wordlessly to the other side of the engine, assuming that you were there for Buck.
You rounded the back of the engine and made a beeline for the man, grabbing onto his arm, pulling him somewhere more private, deciding that right by the bathrooms was really the only spot that was as out of sight as you could get. You stopped there and Buck could practically see the flames forming in your eyes because of how angry you were. Women had been mad at him more times than he could count, but never like that. If looks could kill, he definitely would have been dead.
"You're an asshole," you told him, trying your best not to yell. For once, Buck was very aware of the hurt he had caused. And now he was paying for it. With the way you were balling your fists, you looked like you were going to punch him, and for the first time, he was going to take it because he felt like he deserved it.
"Am I?" He asked, cocking his head to the side. Buck didn't know why he was being such a dick, but now he felt like he had stick with it since he had already committed to the role. He honestly wasn't expecting you to show up. The most he ever got was an angry phone call. Perhaps you showing up was a sign that you weren't willing to give up on him like everyone else.
"Yes!" Your voice was a little loud, but you couldn't have cared less. He deserved to know just how angry you were and for once, you didn't care about embarrassing him. That was the least he deserved.
"I had a really nice time with you. You made me feel special. I hadn't slept with anyone in a long time and I trusted you. I trusted you, Evan. And then you find out that Bobby's my uncle and you run? If you didn't want to see me again, the least you could have done was told me. But no, you're nothing but a coward."
Bobby stood on the other side of the wall, listening to the entire thing. He hadn't meant to eavesdrop, but he had left the restroom just as you and Buck went to block the exit and he couldn't have passed without revealing that he had heard everything and he couldn't have that. At least, not yet. Tension was already high and he didn't want to make it worse.
Bobby didn't know what was worse, hearing that you had slept with Buck, or the fact that he made you cry. So not only did the guy sleep with you, but he also completely ghosted you and hurt your feelings. That was three strikes so Buck was out. At least, for the near future. Just as you were leaving, the sirens went off, signaling that there was a call.
Buck tried to follow you, but Eddie stopped him and Buck watched you leave from over Eddie's shoulder. Eddie turned him around and pushed Buck towards the engine, but Bobby stopped him.
"I'm benching you today, Buck." Maybe it was wrong of him to bring his personal life into work, but nobody was allowed to hurt his little girl. Not even Buck. Especially not Buck.
"Why?" Buck didn't like the assumption his brain was coming to and he really didn't like being benched after being yelled at by a girl he really liked.
"I'm the captain and what I say goes. The dishes really need to be done, so could you take care of that?" With that, Bobby got into the engine and both it and the truck pulled out of the station, leaving Buck with nothing but his thoughts and a sink full of dishes that needed to be done.

The idea was good, the execution not so much
Established Buddie x Reader, ft our fave Diaz Chris. You and Chris plan a surprise for the boys, it doesn't quite go to plan.
Tumblr media
The house was quiet when Eddie and Buck arrived home from a 24 hour shift. Usually when they finished at a reasonable hour they came home to hustle and bustle. You and Chris generally had music playing as you cooked up a storm throughout the kitchen.
Instead it was almost eerie silent in their house, in fact if it wasn’t for your car parked in the driveway they’d assume no one was home.
Buck shrugged at Eddie as they made the way down the hallway, peering in doors as they passed. It wasn't till they opened the door to the living room that they found any signs of life. Twinkling fairy lights were hung across the walls, basking the room in a light golden glow. Soft instrumental music was playing gently from the speaker and the table was set for four.
"What's going on?" Eddie whispered to his partner, Buck for his part looking just as bewildered. "Where are they?"
Buck shook his head in confusion, making his way into the living room. He spotted you and Chris pretty quickly, both sunk into the sofa fast asleep. Eddie followed him over and both men couldn't help the grin when they saw their partner and son, clearly accidentally napping while waiting for the boys to come home.
"Hi mijo," Eddie whispered, gently pulling Chris from your embrace and into his arms. "Dad! Bucky! You're home," He whispered wiping the sleep from his eyes.
"Mom and I were supposed to surprise you, we didn't mean to fall asleep,"
"We can see that superman." Buck whispered, "What's the big surprise?"
"Ay dios mio," Eddie suddenly exclaimed, staring down at Chris in shock.
"What Eds?" Buck questioned.
"Look at Chris' shirt Ev,"
Chris grinned stretching out so Buck could read it properly. There sprawled across his tiny chest were the words 'BEST BIG BROTHER'.
"Oh my god," Buck gasped, mouth opening and closing but no other words coming out.
"Surprise," You whispered nervously, having woken up from your nap to Eddie's shout of shock. Both boys whipped around to face you, as you grinned sheepishly.
"Baby, is this true? It's not a prank right?" Buck whispered, placing his hand across your stomach like he already expected a big bump to be there.
"It is, I found out yesterday. Chris and I had a big plan to tell you both, there's even a bun sitting in the oven," When Evan got a look of concern on his face you followed up with "the oven is turned off, I promise."
"You're sure? About being pregnant I mean."
"Positive, literally." Handing over multiple tests to each of the boys, all with the same result. "Chris was actually the one who mentioned it, I may be slightly bias but I think our son is a genius,"
"So Amy from school, her Mom is pregnant too and she was talking about how she is feeling sick and getting tired more often." Chris chattered happily, "So then when Mom was like that the last week I thought that maybe she was."
"That's great superman," Buck said absentmindedly.
You couldn't help but notice that Eddie hadn't even spoken yet, and Buck's tone was making you worried. While you had discussed expanding your family before, it was always talked about in the vague future and the idea that maybe they weren't ready was chewing you up.
"Hey Chris honey, I think you should get the card we made for your dads! I think it's sitting in your bedroom." He excitedly agreed, giving you a short time to talk to your partners.
"I know this is a shock, but is this okay? It's sudden but I love you both soo much and.."
"Baby," Buck interrupted, wrapping you in his arms. "this is the greatest gift you could ever give me. I can't wait to have another child with you two, honestly I can't wait to see Chris as a big brother." You sighed in relief knowing at least one of your partners was on board.
"Eds?" Buck whispered while directing the other mans head up gently with his hand and gently placing a kiss on his forehead. You both noticed the tears in his eyes as he struggled for words.
"I am so so grateful to you [y/n], for allowing me the opportunity to get to be a dad to another child again. I love you more than words can express." Tears of happiness began to fall down your cheeks as he pressed a soft peck to your lips and place his hand gently on your belly.
"And Buck, I can't wait to watch you be a Dad to this baby. You are an amazing parent to Chris but I am honored to be a dad with you again to this baby, to get to watch you Buck, and you too [y/n], get to experience every little moment together. Between us and Chris this baby is going to be so loved and cherished,"
Buck and Eddie wrapped you between them in a hug, whispering words of excitement and joy. You only parted when Chris came back in the room, a grin on his face as he thrust the card towards Eddie and Buck.
"Here" he grinned, passing over the card with the front reading '10 reasons why going to the zoo will help me be a better big brother!'

A Rose by any Other Name
Paring: Eddie Diaz x Buck x Reader
Word count: 2.5k
Notes: First of all how do you capitalize a title, second of all considering the content of this story that’s the funniest thing I’ve ever named a fic. Third, oh boyyy do I need more Buddie x reader fics because ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ thank you so so much for this
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Buck is the one who finds them.
He had been going through your drawers at Eddie’s place, trying to find his favorite pair of basketball shorts. Shorts you’d literally told him were currently in the wash, but does he ever listen?
He pulls open the small drawer on your bedside table and digs around for a moment, his fingers find something hard, rubber.
“What the hell??”
He pulls on it and his mouth drops wide open
“Eddie!!!”
Buck and Eddie are sitting together at the dining table, just… staring. Buck had found your rabbit… and your rose, and your cute yellow star vibrator. He literally laid them out on the damn table for Eddie to see
“Where-??” Eddie gestures and Buck has his cheeks resting on his fists
“Nightstand”
“Ah…” Eddie nods and that’s it, that’s literally it. They’re not saying anything because how do they even process this? And there isn’t an issue, not at all. Buck has…. Things and Eddie you know won’t admit to it but he also does. But you? Having them? They’re not better than cavemen honestly, really you know horny cavemen
“Is it bad that-?” Buck begins
“Don’t say it” Eddie points a finger at him
“Hear me out-“
“Buck I swear-“
“I want to watch her so damn badly. I need to see her using that-“
“We can’t just ask!! She’ll know you went through her stuff!”
“I didn’t mean to!! She’ll understand right?? Right maybe we can just like, like hold on I have an idea”
And that’s how you come home to both of your boyfriends in the kitchen, listening to music and making dinner
Together.
There’s a box on the dining table and you look at it curiously, a little “open me” note is on it. You pull the ribbon and take the lid off
There’s a very cute baby tee, with “Daddy’s girl” written across the chest and you roll your eyes, because that was definitely Bucks' idea. You know how he feels about Spencer’s. There’s also a pair of lace panties with a waistband that says fuck me on them, absolutely Eddie’s contribution.
“Put it on” You jump and drop the panties back into the box. Buck is standing in the doorway, a towel in his hands as he dries them and leans his shoulder against it, crossing his ankles
“Are you two serious?”
“Oh we’re very serious” Eddie gives you a little thumbs up over Buck’s shoulder and you roll your eyes, grabbing the box
“Alright alright fine-“
“Ah ah-“ Buck waggles a finger at you “Right here, please”
Eddie stands next to him, leaning against the other side of the doorway, his back against it and you shudder in anticipation.
“Okay”
You take your time, peeling off your work clothes, the jeans go first, wiggling them down over your plush hips and you kick them aside
“Bra too?” You bat your eyelashes and Buck nods
“That would be preferable… but whatever you’re comfy with honestly”
You pull your shirt over your head, tossing it on top of your jeans and your bra goes next. Eddie hums in approval as you bend over purposely to take off your panties, dragging them all the way down your legs and wiggling your hips
“Jesus I hate you” Eddie chuckles as he pushes off the wall to go finish dinner
You spin around and blow him a little kiss “Love you too babe”
You put on the new panties, enjoying the way the waistband hugs your hips, and pull the t-shirt on, adjusting it as best you can, your dark nipples so clear through the pink shirt
“How do I look?” You ask, walking over to Buck and his breath hitches, his sexy demeanor dropping for a moment and he giggles
“Sooo fucking hot” he puts his hands on your hips, practically drooling as she squeezes your sides
“Come on… we wanna show you something”
Buck guides you to the couch, making you sit down in his lap now and Eddie comes in and pours you a glass of your favorite mango moscato. You look between them, incredibly suspiciously as he hands you the glass
“How was work baby?” Eddie sits on the armrest and Buck nuzzles against your neck.
“Yeah tell us about your day”
“Whaaaat the hell is going on?” You mutter before Eddie tips the bottom of your glass to make you take a sip
“We just wanted to do something nice for you… when was the last time the three of us had a date?”
“Last week? We went to the aquarium… what did you do?”
Buck looks at Eddie who chuckles and gets up, going over behind the other chair and grabbing another pink box with a bow on it
“We want something. There’s no conditions baby if the answer is no we can still have a cute date night okay?”
Buck takes the box, setting it in your lap “I want to preface this by saying it was a total accident”
“What the heck are you two-“ your breath catches in your throat as you open the box and peel back the paper. Your toys are lying neatly together…next to a brand new fourth one.
“Uhhh???”
“We wanna watch you use em” Buck kisses your neck, smoothing his hands down your thighs, slowly opening them
“Please? Eddie takes the new rabbit they got you, it’s a little differently shaped than your other one, you take it from him, your cheeks on fire as you turn it over in your hands
“We asked the lady at the front desk what she recommended!” Buck says excitedly and you giggle a bit deliriously
“She said it’s great for your G-spot and that it’s got 10 speeds,” Eddie tells you
“And it’s rechargeable!! You can save the environment by not using batteries!”
Eddie whacks Buck’s leg and you shake your head fast, covering your face
“If I’m going to do this…I want to go somewhere more comfortable”
“Oh I’m so so glad you said that” Buck groans excitedly as he gets up and throws you over his shoulder, laughing at the way you squeal as he runs back to the bedroom
“Don’t drop her!” Eddie laughs as he follows after you two. Buck literally tosses you on the rose-petal-covered bed and you squeak, falling in a heap
“Calm down!” You laugh and he shakes his head quickly
“Are you joking? I’ve been waiting all day for this.”
There are two chairs at the end of Eddie’s bed and your mouth drops open. They both work to set the mood together, lighting a couple candles, dimming the lights, and turning them to a soft red hue. Eddie shuts the door and Buck takes his hand, pulling him over to the chairs and they sit down
“All eyes on you baby” Eddie nods and you sigh, lying against the pillows they have set up against the headboard. Your lube is out on the bedside table along with a couple towels and some baby wipes
“You guys really thought this through huh?”
“Anything else you need you just ask for it” Eddie leans back, his legs spread, his arms crossed over his chest and Buck copies his stance. They both look absolutely ravenous
“O-okay” you gulp nervously for a minute, opening your legs so your panties are on display, there’s already a small wet patch on the front and you know how Buck feels about that. You lift your hips, wriggling out of your panties, and toss them over to him. He catches them and immediately puts them in his mouth, sucking your juices off of them
“Holy shit” you and Eddie both mumble under your breath, Buck takes them from his mouth, tossing them to the floor, and cups Eddie’s face, kissing him so he can taste you too
Your eyes follow the little trail of spit connecting them as Buck pulls away to look at you
“Just a little something to get you started baby girl… now come on, put on a show for us”
You’re a bit shy at first because while they do stare at you often when having sex, Eddie is so big on eye contact, it’s never like this, where they’re literally sitting there like two hungry wolves watching their little bunny present herself up on a silver freaking platter
There were some weekends, that you’d get together with both of them, and Buck would reduce you down to nothing but a toy. Even dressing you up exactly how he wanted you and Eddie would have to be the voice of reason telling him he couldn’t put you in a skirt that short to go to the mall in, none of you would even make it out of the house let alone to the mall where just any man could stare at your ass.
This whole little setup is definitely up their alley.
The pillows are so soft and fluffy under you, the cases silky and pink. Even the bedding underneath you is pink. The bed is covered in beautiful rose petals and little gold flecks, and your box of toys is next to you. You reach over and grab the new one, feeling it in your hands for a second before turning it on. You giggle as it moves in your hand, it seems nice, definitely your speed, that lady knew her shit. You slide it down your chest circling your nipple slowly through your thin t-shirt, gasping softly.
Eddie stretches, putting his arm around the back of Bucks chair, they watch you trail it over your breasts, feeling the vibrations flow through your body, your nipples hardening and making his mouth water. He lets his head fall to look at Buck, who’s got his hand sliding over Eddie’s thigh and over his cock as he watches you so intensely, his hand following the same pattern as yours
You sit up some, getting comfy in the pillows before you rub it along the inside of your thighs, teasing yourself (and them) as you work yourself up as if you weren’t hot enough already. You spread your legs a bit more, your thighs shaking as you start to finally roll the head of your toy over your lips, gliding it along your slick center as you pant softly
“Oh god…” you moan as you reach over to the table for the little bottle of lube, it’s a new one, strawberry flavored and you snort
“Buck!”
“Hey, it could have been Eddie!! He loves strawberries!!”
“Was it Eddie?” You ask as you pour it on the toy and Eddie shrugs
“Oh yeah no it was definitely me”
“See!! You owe me an apology” Buck scoffs and you grin, waving the toy at him
“I’ll let you lick it clean when I’m done”
Both of their mouths drop open as you slip it inside you, adjusting your body in the pillows so it goes in all the way, you feel the little head working your clit while it massages your gspot and your back nearly arches completely off the bed
You moan loudly, pumping the toy in and out of you, your hips rocking slowly in time with it “Oh fuck yes!” you cry, your thighs shaking as you grip the sheets with your other hand
Buck unzips Eddie’s jeans, pulling his cock out, grinning at the way it pops out at him, fully hard, his tip blushing red and dripping with precum already.
“You too” Eddie grins, fumbling with Buck's zipper and finally pulling his cock out, you groan softly as it springs out, staring at your two boys
“Don’t stop baby, god please keep fucking yourself” Eddie’s voice is deep and gravelly as Buck strokes his cock, he spits on the tip, dragging it down his fast and you whine, your hips bucking on the toy. You spread your legs wider, plunging the toy in and out faster as both men get each other off in time with you.
“Please please please come over here and cum on me, please!” Your voice is high-pitched as you get closer and closer, the vibrations on your clit nearly clawing you apart
They get up from their chairs, immediately crashing into each other, Eddie forces Buck against the wall, shoving his jeans all the way down and fisting his cock, pumping it in tandem with your whining and moaning. Buck rips Eddie’s shirt off, throwing it somewhere, and pushes him backward until they hit the bed. Eddie falls back and Buck climbs on top of him, grinding his cock against Eddie’s
He looks up at you, your eyes wide, your mouth open, the toy still working you as you have it in you as deep as possible, but you’re paying a little less attention to it and a lot more attention to them. He reaches over, pulling it from between your legs and stroking Eddie’s cock with it.
“C’mere baby” Eddie reaches for you, his hips jerking against the vibrator and you scramble over to him, kissing him frantically, he holds your face, it’s all teeth and tongue, messily making out with you. Your ass is in the air Buck rubs his hand over it, giving it a smack before sliding your toy back in your pussy and fucking you slowly with it
You cry into Eddie’s mouth as he holds you against him, his tongue lapping at yours. Buck pushes the toy in further and you feel the little head stimulating somewhere else, somewhere new and that’s all it takes. You fall forward grinding into the bed beneath you, your body writhing as you sob for them, cumming all over the sheets. Buck turns it up two more and you claw at Eddie, gasping loudly your entire body shaking and overstimulated
“Shit shit shit!” You chant, fucking yourself against the bed, Buck grabs Eddie’s cock, stroking quickly in time with you, and he cums over your back, he grunts loudly, jerking his hips into Buck's hand over and over making Buck cum hands free, Eddie laughs as he reaches out, stroking him too, watching as his cum splatters across your back. He falls over on the bed next to you two dramatically and puts two thumbs in the air
“That was awesome”
You’re still wriggling in the sheets, gasping and Eddie sits up
“Shit- shit sorry” He reaches over, pulling your toy from you and shutting it off, it leaves a sticky trail as he pulls it away, handing it over to Buck who eagerly takes it, licking your juices off and moaning around it, your eyes widen as he swallows part of it, fucking his throat with it
“You taste so fucking good” he moans, putting the toy down on the bed and you giggle, rolling over so you’re on your back
“That was….” You pant softly into the covers and Eddie nods
“Too fucking good… how you feelin'?”
“Why?” You crane your neck to look over at him as Buck gets up, pulling your legs toward him as he strokes his cock slowly
“Because we uh…had one more request-“
“What kind of request?” You ask curiously, watching Buck rub the inside of your thighs slowly
“Both of us? At the same time?”

'Tis the Season
13 Days of Halloween: Day 2
Plot: While decorating the firehouse for Halloween, you and the crew carve some pumpkins.
Pairing: Evan "Buck" Buckley x Gn!Reader
Warnings: None
Words: 625; very short I know, but it's cute I swear!
Tumblr media
-
You lightly bit your tongue as you carved out another piece of the pumpkin. You smiled softly as the outline of the haunted house became more clear.
Hearing a thud nearby, you looked over to see Chimney drop another box of decorations on the floor.
"What did we do, raid a Spirit Halloween or something?" He asked as Bobby walked past.
"'Tis the season Chim." Bobby commented with a smile.
"Yeah, right, and how many pumpkins do we need?" He continued to complain as he looked around a the various pumpkins that had already been carved.
"Come on Chimney, I thought you liked Halloween?" Buck called out from across the table.
"I do, I just think this is a bit a bit much."
"He's only mad because he tripped over a pumpkin and spilled his latte." You said with a smirk.
"It wasn't a latte, it was a cappuccino, and it cost me like seven bucks." He defended as he placed his hand on his hips.
You and Hen locked eyes for a moment before you both rolled your eyes and chuckled.
"Then it serves you right." Hen said as she put up the Halloween fundraiser sign out front.
You smirked as Chimney grumbled. "Why don't you carve your own pumpkin, it's fun." You suggested.
Chimney frowned "No, thanks. I already carved some with Maddie the other night, I can't get the smell off my hands."
"And, done!" Buck called out as he finished his last pumpkin.
Chimney, walking up behind him stared at it for a moment "Ah, look at that...Michael Jackson."
"What?" Buck said with obvious offense and he looked back at Chimney "It's not Michael Jackson!"
Eddie, walking over looked at it for a moment "Yeah Chimney, it's clearly Madonna."
Buck sighed "It's not Madonna either."
You chuckled "Let me see."
Buck, turned it around, and you and Hen stared at it for a moment.
You assumed it had something to do with Halloween, so you shrugged lightly.
"Michael Myers?"
The others made noises of shared agreement but Buck just sighed and shook his head.
"No, it- it's supposed to be you." He looked at you with mild defeat.
You felt touched at the idea he tried to carve your portrait, but looking at it again, you repressed a soft laugh.
From beside you, Hen let out a "Oooh" as she nodded her head "I can see it!" She said, obviously lying.
"Yeah, no no I can see it now too." Eddie said with an amused smile.
"Okay, I get it, it sucks." Buck said as he turned the pumpkin back around.
"Yeah, it does." Chimney said as he patted Buck's shoulder and walked away.
Buck frowned as he looked at the pumpkin again.
You smiled to yourself as you quickly finished your own pumpkin, carving out the last detail. You set it down with the others you had carved. A ghost, a classic jack-o-lantern, and now the haunted house.
Looking over at Buck, he was still staring at his pumpkin in disappointment. You smiled softly and walked over to him. Sitting on his lap, you looked down at the pumpkin again.
"It really doesn't look like you does it?" He asked softly.
You repressed a smile but met his eyes and shook your head "Not at all. But-" you pressed a quick kiss to his cheek "-it's the thought that counts."
He smiled softly as he stared at it a bit longer "God, it does look like Michael Myers."
You chuckled and nodded your head before you leaned further against him, and he wrapped his arm around you.
"If anyone asks, that's what it was always meant to be." He added on in a whisper.
"'Tis the season." You said lightly mocking Bobby as Buck let out a soft breathy laugh.
xx End xx
Simple and short, hope you enjoyed.

“So you’re...?”
“Pregnant yep,”
“And it’s mine?”
“Yep,”
“And you’re sure?”
“You know for a first responder you ask really dumb questions,” you cocked an eyebrow up at him. “and look I wasn’t planning for this to happen, I rarely do the one night stand thing, but here we are. I told you, my end of the deal is up,” you patted your hands on your legs and stood up.
“W-Wait!” Buck stuttered, looking up at you. “You’re having a baby...my baby,” he wasn’t even talking to you at this point, just trying to process the information you had given you.
“Look, I might be a complete idiot for asking this, but...do you want to be involved? I’m-I’m not planning on getting rid of him..or her,”
“You’d be okay with that? Like me coming to appointments and whatever else you need?”
“Well yeah I’m not against it,” you nodded. “I’m just surprised is all, forgive me for saying this but you don’t seem like the ‘arise to fatherly duties’ type person,”
Buck nodded, rubbing his neck nervously.
“Yeah, I could see why you might think that,”
“So you’re in? Like all in?” you asked carefully, looking down at him,
Buck stood up and nodded putting a hand out for you to take,
“All in,”
“Hey Pops can I talk to you real quick?” Buck asked, looking over at Bobby as they walked towards the empty locker room.
“Sure, what do you need, kid?” he said as they entered the room and sat on the benches.
“Um well, a-a...a girl I slept with she got, y’know...pregnant and I-I was just wondering if I might be able to get off my shift early tomorrow to go to the doctor with her,”
Bobby just stared at the boy, whatever he just said was like having his head dunked in a bucket of ice water, repeatedly.
“Bobby?” Buck looked at the captain oddly until he snapped out of his daze.
“Oh yeah!” Bobby looked up at Buck and nodded. “For sure I can cover for you,” he assured him. “I-I just have one question,”
Buck nodded for him to continue.
“Do,” Bobby lowered his voice, “do people know about this?”
“So far just you, I found out a week ago,” he explained. “And maybe if you could keep it to yourself just until (Y/N) and I figure things out a bit more, it’s a little hectic and I don’t think her parents are too happy about it all,”
Bobby nodded and patted the young man on the back,
“Hey I’m proud of you for stepping up like this, it’s big of you,”
“Thanks, Pops,” Buck gave him a light chuckle.
“If you need any help don’t hesitate to ask, kids are a big responsibility,”
“I know,” he nodded, pressing his lips together. “That’s why I couldn’t leave her on her own, it wouldn’t be fair, to her or the kid,”
Bobby felt as if he was talking to a whole new person, but it made sense, Evan Buckley always did have a soft spot for kids.
Buck sat anxiously in the dim doctor’s office, wringing his hands together and constantly looking back up at the door.
Finally, only a few moments before your appointment was scheduled for, you opened the door and walked into the office, Buck standing immediately to greet you.
“Hey, I’m sorry I’m late,” you apologized. “A few things came up and I-I just lost track of time,”
“No, it’s alright,” he assured with an awkward nod. “H-How are you?”
“I’m okay,” you nodded while he led you to the front desk so you could check-in.
“You can just head to exam room 2,” the receptionist told you and you nodded, giving a quick thank you.
When you got into the room the doctor there handed you a gown to go change in while Buck took a seat at the side of the room, waiting for you to exit the washroom.
You came back and sat in the chair with a little help from Buck to sit up there comfortably.
“Alright Mrs. (L/N) you and your husband are here for the ultrasound correct?”
“Um he’s not my husband,” you chewed the inside of your cheek while regardless, the man next to you gave you a hand to hold.
“Boyfriend?”
You both shook your heads again.
The doctor looked confused and Buck sighed, filling in the blank,
“Baby daddy, from a one night stand,”
“Oh now that makes more sense,” the doctor nodded while he flipped through his papers.
You pursed your lips and frowned, opening your mouth to say something before closing it and looking back at Buck in confusion.
“And what do you mean by that?” you asked finally.
“He just seems out of your league is all,” the doctor shrugged and you opened your mouth in protest, taking your feet off the stirrups and looking at him with an utterly and completely offended expression, but before you could cuss out the doctor Buck came to your defence with a blunt,
“Well I think she’s hot, I mean, I slept with her so that’s kind of obvious,”
Now you looked over at the father of your unborn child, your face contorted with bewilderment.
“Buck, not the time!” you exclaimed and he shrugged. “And I want another doctor please,” you added while Buck nodded, helping you off the chair and back to the front desk, but before you left the exam room, Buck turned back to the doctor and shook his head and said,
“You have terrible taste in women,”
Once you had cleared things up with one of the receptionists and she had gotten you to see another doctor within small opening she had, heading to another exam room you finally turned to Buck exclaiming,
“What the hell was that?!”
“What he said or what I said?” he asked for clarification.
“At this point both,” you huffed. “I mean what you said was nice and all, but I mean-I-I just don’t know what to say back to that,”
“You don’t have to say anything it’s just the truth,”
“God how was I ever convinced to sleep with you,” you muttered.
“Hey I am very likeable, ask any of my co-workers!” he countered playfully.
“Really? I’d love to, especially whoever your superior officer is, that would be great,”
“Well theoretically it would be but practically they don’t really know I knocked you up,”
“Then tell em, I’m sure that’ll butter them up real nice for me,” you chuckled.
“You’re feisty,” Buck growled and you slapped his arm.
“Hands off Buckley,”
“If you say so,” he raised his hands up in defence before resting them on his hips. “But we both know you’d hook up with me without a second thought,”
You would have responded with another bright retort but the doctor walked in, a happy smile on her face, ready to do her job, and now you could only hold your breath and hope everything was okay.
This was going to be a field day. And who said you couldn’t have a little fun with Buck, after all, half the time he was a bit of a snarky asshole so you got to get a bit of payback this time.
Outside of the station, you slipped on a fake pregnancy belly before grabbing your purse and heading inside.
“Excuse me ma’am can I help you?” one of the firefighters asked, she wore large clear rimmed glasses and bore a sweet smile.
“Yeah,” you nodded. “I’m looking for Buck? Evan Buckley, he said he worked here,”
The woman’s eyes went wide, but she quickly composed herself, calling out to her colleagues.
“Hey, Chimney! Athena! Bobby! Come here!”
There was a small patter of footsteps and soon you were joined by three more people. Perfect this was exactly how you wanted this to go.
“You know this kind lady is looking for Buck, I haven’t seen him have you guys seen him?”
“Woah! (Y/N) what happened did I miss a month or five?!” Buck exclaimed, running down the steps to meet the group.
“Since when did you knock someone up?!” Athena countered, watching as the young man came to your side.
You couldn’t hold it together anymore, laughing and slipping off the fake belly.
“I knew you weren’t gonna tell them,” you punched his arm. “Anyways, you must be Hen, and Chimney, Athena?” you pointed to the officer and she nodded. “And Pops,” you grinned at Bobby. “Nice to meet you guys I’m (Y/N), the baby mama,”
“Nice to finally meet you,” Bobby smiled, lifting a hand to shake yours.
“Likewise,”
“Could I get you some food, something to drink? Tea? Water?” he asked.
“Actually some water would be nice,” you nodded.
Buck looked over towards you resting an arm on your shoulder.
“So did you just come over here to scare the crap outta me?” he asked.
“Pretty much, I mean isn’t that kind of my job?”
“Oh screw you,” he groaned, before wrapping an arm around your shoulder and motioning for everyone to head upstairs.
“So are you two a thing or…?”
“Nah,” you shook your head. “Just a not so one-night stand,”
“And this one actually took on some responsibility?” Athena asked. “This dumbass,”
“Good Lord woman cut me some slack!” Buck responded and shook his head.
“It’s alright hon, I know what you mean,” you sighed. “I look at this one and decide he’s the best one like I can't understand how, he looks like he's a complete dog. I swear I have better judgment under normal circumstances,” you laughed and Buck looked slightly offended.
“That’s no way to speak about the father of your unborn child,” he poked your stomach.
“You say that as if you’re not sleeping with like ten other women right now,” you rolled your eyes.
“I’m not, I swear it! Ask Pops or my roommates,” Buck exclaimed. “I promise I’m not,” he turned you around, looking seriously in your eyes.
You turned your head and looked at the firefighters surrounding you.
“I-Is he being serious I can’t tell if this is a joke?”
“(Y/N) come on have I ever lied to you?” Buck insisted.
“I’ve known you for like two months,” you shook your head. “Barely gives you time to lie to me I don’t know if it counts,”
“But I haven’t, and here I’ll make a deal right now, I won’t sleep with anyone, not while you're pregnant and we’ll work it from there,”
“Take the deal, we can enforce it!” Hen exclaimed. “I'm begging you please,”
“If it makes the woman happy then it’s a deal,” you nodded. “They’ll be watching you,”
Bobby came and handed you a glass of water and you thanked him, taking a seat on the couch.
“I like her, can we keep her?” Chimney asked Bobby and you laughed.
“Well, she’s welcome here whenever she wants,” Bobby nodded. “Buck’s family so now you are too,”
“Welcome to the party pal,” Chimney grinned.
“Stop it with the Die Hard references! It’s just more annoying now that I understand them,” Buck groaned and you patted his head.
“Is it typical for everyone to pick on him here?” you asked and they all nodded vehemently.
“Perfect, I’ll fit right in then,”
“I’m sure you will (N/N),” Buck whined. “At the expense of my poor poor heart,”
“Benefits of being the mother of his child I get a free pass to make as many jabs as I want, score,” you grinned. “Maybe this won’t be that bad,”
“Oh shit it’s that bad,” you gagged, leaning over the toilet bowl. Lucky for you Buck had stopped by to drop off some food from Bobby when this wonderful bout of morning sickness came.
“If I could trade places with you I would,” Buck rubbed your back gently, holding your hair out of your face.
“No you w-,” you gagged again heaving into the toilet. After your stomach stopped lurching for a moment you spat out whatever bile was in your mouth, panting from the exertion. “No, you wouldn’t,”
“You’re right I wouldn’t,” Buck admitted and you couldn’t help but let out a small painful chuckle. “I guess you don’t want those Cheetos now do you?”
“Don’t even talk about food right now Buckley,” you warned, leaning away from the toilet and back into his chest.
It was odd, the warm feeling that came to your stomach. You weren’t sure what it was, hoping it was maybe because of morning sickness, but something told you it was more than that. The way the feeling lingered, felt right.
Maybe it was just because you were carrying his child, but everything in your head screamed that he was a guy who would only hurt you but that didn’t stop your heart from wanting him.
He tucked your hair behind your ear, making sure to hold you loosely so he wouldn’t upset your stomach.
“Hey look I have the day off,” he whispered. “If you want I can stick around, we can just turn on the TV and take it easy? I can take care of dinner,”
“You mean you can call Bobby to bring some more food,”
“Actually I was just thinking going down to the station and eating with everyone else,”
“You know what, right now that doesn’t sound too bad,” you sighed, “You sure you don’t have some single dude thing to do today?”
“No dating or sex until at least after the nine months remember? I’m keeping my promise,”
“Being a good example for your kid then?”
“Figure if I’m gonna be a dad I should at least try to act like one a little,”
“This is by far the weirdest arrangement I’ve ever come across,” you noted. “Like I’m serious, I thought I was in this alone,”
“Well not only did you get me but you got the crew, at this point, it’s a bit of a package deal,”
“And I couldn't be happier, they’re great, treat me like family…” your thoughts drifted to your parents for a moment but you shook your head, you didn’t need to think of that now.
“Course they would, you’re...you’re really likeable,”
You chuckled lightly with a nod.
“Yeah that’s why you knocked me up, isn't it? My smashing personality?”
“And your great ass,” he added and you slapped him lightly, too exhausted to do anything else.
“You wanna sleep for a bit?” Buck asked and you nodded. “Come on, let me help you up,”
You stood on wobbly legs, following him to the bed where he helped you get under the covers, pulling them up to your chin.
Just as he was about to leave the room you reached out for his hand, just barely linking your fingers, pulling him back gently to stay.
“D-Do you want me to lay down with you?” he asked.
You bit the inside of your cheek.
“Could you? This is the first time I’ve gotten sick like this since I was a kid and my mom always used to stay with me, but…”
“Yeah, Yeah of course I can stay,”
Buck lifted the blankets and slid into the bed, carefully wrapping an arm around you and allowing you to readjust your position.
He gently rested his chin on the top of your head while you laid against his chest.
It was nice and you hated how you knew you really could get used to it.
“Chim you ready?” you called to the firefighter as he came up the stairs.
“Ready for what?” Bobby asked curiously while you both sat at the table.
“They eat like 15 meals a day together,” Buck explained. “It’s really hurting my pocket so Chim you better be paying for the diapers,”
“Seriously after five months of this, I’ve got you covered,”
“I’m surprised your appetite grew so early,” Bobby added. “When my wife was pregnant it took at least until month seven before she started eating our entire house inside out,”
“Well it hasn’t grown that much,” you said honestly. “Hmm how do I put this, have you watched Bones?” you asked and the man nodded.
“Think of me as Aubrey, I could literally eat an elephant by myself,”
“Yeah to be perfectly honest I’m hoping this-,”
“Ah no no no,” Buck plugged his ears and you gave him a look.
“I was gonna say, kid! This kid doesn’t need to inherit my appetite.” you tossed your hands in the air and facepalmed. “We-No I just found out the gender of the baby and Buck keeps saying he doesn’t want to know,”
“That’s because the surprise is the best part,” he countered and you rolled your eyes.
“You say that as if you didn’t just have a vocalized internal battle when I told you I knew.”
“Okay, but what is it,” he whined.
“See!” you exclaimed.
“Oh, I wanna know!” Chimney grinned and you leaned over and whispered it in his ear.
“Me too,” Bobby nodded, walking over to you.
“What are we doing?” Hen asked, making her way towards the kitchen.
“We’re finding out the gender of the baby before Buck,” Chimney explained.
“Oo 20 bucks says he’s gonna break before the end of the day,”
“No one’s gonna take those odds cause you’re damn right,” you chuckled, now telling Bobby.
“Awe that’s so great (Y/N) I’m really happy for you,” he smiled.
“Thanks, Bobby, now if you could convince your work son to just grow a pair and let me tell him that would be great,” you grinned. “Hen do you wanna know?” you asked and the lady nodded, jogging up to you so you could tell her.
“Awe it’s gonna be a little-,”
“Hey!” Buck exclaimed, eyes widening and just motioning to the air around them.
“Come on Buck she didn’t say it was gonna be a boy,” Chimney kicked his feet back and took a handful of blueberries, putting them in his mouth.
Buck’s eyes went wide and you chuckled with a sigh.
“Surprise!” you said lamely. “You’re having a son,”
Buck’s hands went to cover his mouth and you gave him a bright smile as he ran over to you, lifting you in his arms and pressing a kiss to your cheek.
“Careful Buck,” you laughed. “I take that as you being happy about this?”
“Very,” he nodded. “Wow, I’m gonna have a son, Pops you’re gonna be Grand Pops,” he looked over at Bobby who rolled his eyes at the comment.
“If you guys are taking name suggestions can I throw in Chimney junior?”
“He’s not your kid Chim, he can't be junior unless it’s yours, and Chim isn’t even your real name,”
“Really?” he asked, surprised and Hen just shook her head.
“I don’t know, the name will come when it comes,” you nodded. “Right?”
“Mhmm, finally something we can agree on,” Buck pressed another kiss to your cheek and you hoped they couldn’t see how flustered you were. So instead you just held him closer, hiding the warmth in your face from him, but making whatever bubbling feelings inside you all the more obvious to the three firefighters surrounding you.
“(N/N)! You ready?”
Buck walked through your apartment tossing his keys on the table and looking around.
“(N/N)?”
Buck walked into your room, hearing the soft cries from the washroom.
He quickly ran inside, seeing you curled up on the floor in between the wall and the bathtub. Your hair was tied back in a messy ponytail and your eyes were red and puffy, making him assume it had been a while that you were like this.
“Woah, what happened,” he asked, bending down next to you and picking up your phone but you inched further away from it.
“N-No take it away,” you begged. “I don’t wanna be near it,”
“Okay, Okay,” Buck assured, quickly removing it from sight and sitting down next to you and pulling you in his arms.
“What was it?” he asked. “You sick? Did you see something that bothered you?”
“My parents,” you whispered. “Again,”
“Shit,” he muttered. “What did they say this time?” he asked.
“I-I-I just wanted to tell them I’m fine and healthy,” you sobbed lightly into his shirt. “But they think I’m making a mistake. They didn’t want me to keep it, they think I-I’m some whore that goes sleeping around,”
Buck cupped your face in his hand wiping away your tears with his thumb and delicately pressing his lips to your forehead, hoping it might offer some comfort, not knowing it really just made things so much more complicated.
“What happened to ‘we’ll support you no matter what’? Is that just a white lie parents tell their kids?” you whispered.
“I don’t know (N/N),” he admitted in a soft voice. “But I do know I hate seeing you like this,” he pressed. “It’s not good for you and it’s not good for the baby, a-and when you live on the other side of town I can’t be there every time something happens,”
“Buck, what are you saying?” you asked.
“I… I want you to move in with me,” he said quietly.
“W-What?” you faltered, turning slightly to look him in the eye.
“It’s close to my work and that means I can be close to you so if you need me I’m there,”
“Buck-,”
“Just think about it okay, I hate seeing you like this and I wanna help,” he insisted, tucking some hair that made it out of your ponytail behind your ear.
You took a deep breath and nodded. “Okay… You know what, what the heck,” you nodded. “I’ll move in with you, it’ll be good for-for the baby,” you said, your eyes trailing down to your growing stomach, a visible bump now having formed. “It’ll be good he’s close to his dad,”
Buck pulled you in tight again, resting his chin on the top of your head.
“One weird family… and (N/N)?”
“Yeah?”
“When we tell this little guy we’ll support him no matter what… it’s not gonna be a white lie. I promise,”
“Alright Pops what are we making today?” you asked, coming over to Bobby’s side while he cooked.
“Your favourite,” he chuckled. “Figured you’d appreciate that,”
“Oh you’re the best,” you grinned, stepping up on the stool and sitting on the counter next to the stove. “In another life, you would’ve made an amazing chef,”
“So I’ve been told,” he nodded. “How’s the move been with Buck?”
“Not too bad actually, he makes breakfast which is nice if it’s not burnt,”
“You know we actually banned him from cooking here,” Bobby explained and you frowned curiously.
“God, what did he do? No, I take it back, what genes are my child inheriting?”
“We do a rotation for dinner sometimes and it was maybe his first week here and he somehow almost burnt the kitchen down making pasta salad. Pasta salad. You only need to boil water for that! And can you imagine, a firehouse on fire!”
“Oh good Lord,” you shook your head while Bobby offered you a spoon to taste what he was making. “Is he really that dumb?”
“I don’t know if dumb is the right word,” Bobby pursed his lips together. “It’s more like could be smart but he doesn’t think before he does stuff, you know?”
“Yeah, I can see that,” you agreed. “But even aside from all that he’s just… he’s Buck y’know,” you smiled softly to yourself.
“Yeah,” Bobby nodded, knowing that look anywhere. “I know what you mean,”
“He’s been really great through all this,” you found yourself admitting, “I really wasn’t sure what I was expecting when he said he wanted to be involved, but I don’t think this was it,”
“Yeah, I've learnt that when it counts Buck rises to the occasion,” Bobby exclaimed. “And boy if that kid doesn’t think you count. I haven’t seen him as happy as he is now, while also simultaneously being responsible and-and using a little will power and it’s just something all of us didn’t think we’d see,”
“Glad I could be of service,” you put a hand out to shake Bobby’s but he pulled you into a hug instead.
“You’re family (Y/N), don’t forget that,”
“I’ll try not to,” you smiled softly, trying to push back the tears welling in your eyes. “Really though Bobby, thank you,”
“Of course. Anytime,”
The way your heart dropped to the pit of your stomach could not be attributed to anything but what was being shown on your TV screen.
Don’t you dare Evan Buckley I swear to God-
He dared.
There had been a landslide after a minor earthquake, only a 4.2 in magnitude, nothing LA wasn’t already used to. The fact of the matter was, the city wasn’t built in the smartest way. People didn’t stay away from the dirt mountains causing things like this to happen, harming normal citizens and putting the first responders who needed to save them in danger.
In a way, the landslide was kind of like a mix of an avalanche and earthquake. Like the avalanche dirt would slide down, trapping whatever was in its way and like an earthquake, there was normally more to come afterwards.
Right now from what you could see a poorly placed restaurant was almost covered in rocks and dirt, damaging the structural integrity of the building and making it difficult for some of the firefighters to get in there.
But that never stopped Buck.
You could see behind the reporter how he rushed into the building, right before another rumble of rocks and you swore you could feel the baby kick as if he was telling you he saw it too.
Looking past the entrance to the restaurant on the screen you were able to see the pile of rocks just waiting to roll down the hill, probably crushing anyone left in the restaurant.
Bobby and Hen pulled out a few uninjured people while Chim came around with a few others pulling somebody out of the debris on a gurney.
“Firemen have been able to evacuate all except one child still remaining in the building,” the reporter stated and you grimaced knowing that meant he wouldn’t leave unless he managed to get the kid.
“Come on Buck, Come on,” you whispered, balling your hands into fists, staring so intently for any sign of him coming out.
Not before long, you heard a rumble and quick,
“Get out of the way!” from Bobby, seeing the rocks tumble down the hill. Quickly you grabbed the remote and shut it off.
That didn’t just happen. You didn’t just watch him get crushed in a building.
You could feel your throat closing and your heart start to beat erratically while you stared at the blank screen.
If he was gone, who was going to raise the baby with you? Drive you to the hospital? What happened to, I’m all in?
You frantically wiped the tears from your eyes, grabbing the tissue box and clutching it close.
No, it wasn’t real, he could have gotten out. Buck always got out.
You fumbled around through your tears, trying to find your phone, dialling Bobby’s number knowing you’d have better luck getting a hold of him.
The phone rang through to voicemail and you hung up and tried again, and again, and again, even switching to Hen and Chimney, hell even Athena if she knew more than you but nobody was picking up; you could only assume that was because what they needed to say to you couldn’t be said over the phone.
An ungodly noise escaped your throat as you staggered back into the kitchen table, grabbing onto the edge for support.
Your body was quick to respond to the stress, sending a shooting pain in your lower abdomen causing you to hold on to your belly and curse mother nature for making Braxton-Hicks contractions a thing.
You bit back a groan of pain while the tears streamed down your face. It was just too much. Too much to think about, too much to feel, you wanted Buck here. More than anything you wanted him by your side.
The way he supported you, treated you like family, even bringing you into his own, the feelings of love and acceptance were unparalleled when you were with him and you never wanted it to end. But all good things come to an end, right?
After around an hour, still no word from anyone at the station house, your tears had calmed slightly, just waiting for someone, anyone to call or knock on the door.
What you were expecting was for it to click unlocked and open, in walking what looked like an extremely exhausted and worn-out Evan Buckley.
You quickly pushed yourself up off the couch and ran up to him, giving him a prompt slap across the face before pulling him into your arms, letting yourself sob into his shoulder.
“Don’t do that!” you exclaimed. “Don’t go making me think you’re dead, a-a damn phone call Buck that’s all it would have taken!”
“Hey, hey I’m sorry, the cell towers were down,” he gripped onto you, pressing a kiss to your temple.
“You can’t just-just leave me okay,” you whispered “It’s not just me, there’s-there’s the baby a-and as much as I want to think I can do it by myself I can’t. I can’t,” you sobbed.
“I know,” he nodded, pressing his forehead to yours, a thumb brushing away your tears. “I’m here I promise. I’m here for both of you,”
“I-I saw you! I saw you in the building,”
Buck gently started to move you away from the door, shutting it with his foot and pulling you along through to his room.
“Come on let’s just lay down a bit okay,” he said quietly. “It’s gonna be fine I’m not going anywhere,”
You listened to him carefully lowering yourself down into the covers, watching as he made his way around to the other side, coming next to you wrapping an arm underneath you, his free hand resting on your stomach.
You grabbed onto his shirt tightly, your head tucked into his chest.
“Why did you go back in?” you whispered.
“There was a kid (N/N), a-and I just kept thinking of you and the baby and if anything happened I’d… I don’t know what I’d do with myself,”
“‘Thena’s right, you damn Buckley’s have hearts of gold,” you sniffed, looking up at him and ran a hand through his hair.
“Really? She said that?” he chuckled through some light tears.
“Mhmm,” you nodded. “I-I just...When I thought you… I’ve never felt that way before and I know it’s in the job description, but… you’re gonna be a dad,”
Buck nodded, hugging you again, peppering your hair with kisses.
“I know, I promise I’m gonna be careful,” he assured you. “I’m gonna be there, I’m gonna look after you, I’m gonna do everything to keep you safe. I promise,”
“And I’m counting on you to keep it,”
“Come on you guys barely have any photos,” Hen pushed, kicking her feet up on the table.
“Yeah come time when the little one wants to see any pictures of the pregnancy, what are you gonna show him?” Athena asked.
“I don’t know, I just-photos haven’t been at the front of my mind right now,” you chuckled lightly.
“Then let us take them,” Bobby suggested. “Here come on let’s do one right now,”
“Bobby I’m not sure that’s a good idea-,”
“Okay if not for you then for me,” he smiled. “It’s my work grandbaby,” he joked and you couldn’t help but laugh along with the rest of them.
“Alright,” you sighed, pushing yourself up with slight difficulty, accustoming yourself to the added weight in the front. “Let’s do this, Buck up you get,”
“M-Me?” he asked, pointing to himself.
“Yeah you’re the father of the baby are you not?” you asked and he shook his head with a smile, hopping up and wrapping his arms around you from behind.
“Okay say cheese!” Bobby grinned and you and Buck both smiled for the camera, allowing Bobby to take a few pictures of the two of you together.
“You guys look adorable,” Hen cooed. “This kid’s gonna be lucky, he’s really got a great pick for parents,”
You chuckled lightly, “Thanks Hen, only a few months to go, then we’ll see if we’re really up for the challenge,”
You took a seat back on the couch and Buck sat on the ground, next to your legs facing your stomach.
“You gonna talk to him?” you asked. “I can go get that microphone thing your mom sent-,”
“Nah it’s okay we’ll just do it the old-fashioned way,” he grinned. “Well what to say,” he sighed. “Hmm, well kid it’s me, your dad-,”
“Tell him something he doesn’t know,” Chim jabbed and Buck rolled his eyes.
“Well, did you know that clouds come from these factory machines-,”
“Woah, woah, woah,” you stopped him, holding your stomach. “Did you just say clouds come from factories?”
“Yeah, don’t they?” he asked and you burst into a fit of laughter.
“Buck you can't be giving our kid false information before he’s born!”
“Wait they don’t?! What is that then?!” he exclaimed.
“Evaporated water that's condensing in the sky idiot,” Athena noted with a chuckle and Buck shook his head while yours was thrown back in laughter. He pressed a soft kiss to your stomach,
“Sorry little man, maybe you shouldn’t listen to dad,” he admitted, resting his forehead against the baby bump and letting out a chuckle. “God where did I come up with that one,”
Neither of you could see Hen pulling out her phone and snapping a few more photos of you, texting them to Bobby and Athena.
It seemed so obvious to everyone but you and Buck that you were both clearly in love with each other. As weird as the situation was, there was a connection there, an emotional connection and they only hoped you could grab onto it before things changed.
Working at eight months pregnant was not pretty. Your feet were swollen and you were exhausted from standing all day.
You loved your job, seeing small newborn babies every day, the way their parents would light up when they held them, you couldn’t help but hope that’s what was in it for you.
“Good Lord does the back pain get any better?” you asked one of your patients, resting a hand on your lower back and trying to stretch it out.
“Unfortunately not, it gets worse,” Laura sighed.
“But I’d say it’s worth it,” you smiled, grinning at the small baby in the cot.
“(N/N) your shift is up,” Cecelia came into the room and let you know.
“Well that’s my cue Laura, I’ll see you tomorrow,” you waved.
“See you (N/N),”
You grabbed your things and clocked out, heading into your car and driving back to Buck’s apartment.
You weren’t expecting him to be home, he had a shift after all.
You unlocked the door and pushed it open, surprised when you were overcome with a welcoming aroma and warm lighting.
“Buck?” you called, walking into the apartment, still clad in scrubs.
“Oh hey, you’re back home!” Buck grinned, stepping out of the kitchen and tossing the dishrag to the side.
“What is all this?” you asked, taking off your jacket.
“I just thought you might be able to use a bit of a-well I don’t know, just something nice. Here,” he smiled, taking a bag off the couch and handed it to you. “I remembered when we were looking for baby clothes at Macy’s you said you liked this dress so I thought it might be nice to get it for you,”
“Buck,” you cooed, looking inside to see the floral pattern dress. “Let me go put this on then we can eat. Did Bobby come over and cook?”
“Nope this one’s all me,” he grinned.
“No way” you laughed. “I’ll believe it when I see it, Buckaroo,”
“Just go put the dress on,” he rolled his eyes.
You nodded coming to press a thank-you kiss to his cheek before heading off to your room and taking off your scrubs and trying on the dress.
You had to applaud Buck, he managed to get something that fit you perfectly.
With a tired yawn, you walked back out to the dining room where the table was nicely set and Buck was bringing over some food.
“Candles, my favourite food, you really went all out,” you noted while he pulled out your chair and pressed a kiss to the top of your head.
“We’ll come on, a guy can’t treat the mother of his child?” he asked. “And you look amazing,”
“You don’t have to say that, I look terrible, I’m eight months pregnant and just finished a twelve-hour shift,”
Buck only served you some food and shook his head, handing you a glass of non-alcoholic wine.
“(N/N), do I have to tell you the same thing I told the doctor when we went into the first appointment,”
“Oh shut up,” you blushed.
“Hey I was thinking, I have a name,” he suggested.
“A name? The wind blew you in a direction?” you asked, eating a bite of salad.
“Yeah,” he nodded with a small smile. “It’s just after everything that Bobby’s done for us and I-well I think we should name him Nash,”
“Nash,” you smiled to yourself. “I-I love that,”
Buck chuckled, “Glad we could agree on something, I’m not gonna lie I was a little nervous bringing it up,”
“Why? You think I was gonna fight you on it?” you asked.
“Honestly I wasn’t sure what I was expecting,” he took a deep breath. “I just want to make sure your happy, with everything,”
“And I am Buck, really you’ve been more than great,” you assured him, putting down your fork. “But what about you? Are you happy? A-And I mean we haven’t talked much about what happens after the baby is born-,”
“I want you to stay here,” he interrupted quickly. “I mean if you’re okay with that and that’s something you want, but… I want to be present. I’m not gonna be the dad that flaked on his kid,”
“And that would make you happy?” you asked.
“More than anything,” he reached out and squeezed your hand.
“What about you getting your life back to normal?” you asked. “Isn’t it kind of a bit of a cock block if I’m here?”
Your heart clenched as you said the words, but that’s just how it was. You and Buck were separate people, not a couple, just happened to be having a child together.
“We’ll figure everything out when the time comes, I’ve still got a month of celibacy to go,” he chuckled. “Don’t worry about it (N/N), I’ve got it,”
“Course you do, you’re Evan freaking Buckley,” you grinned, reaching back for your fork with your free hand and continuing to eat the delicious food Buck had allegedly prepared.
Right about now life felt really good.
“Oh my God!” you cried in pain, lurching forward on the hospital bed. “I hate you so much right now Evan!”
Buck’s knuckles were turning white as you squeezed onto his hand so hard he thought all his joints were gonna pop.
“Come on (N/N) you got this! He’s almost here!” Buck exclaimed in encouragement.
“I can’t,” you sobbed with exhaustion, falling back down to the bed. “I can’t it’s too hard,”
“(Y/N), (Y/N) look at me,” Buck insisted, turning your face to look him in the eye. “Who are we?”
“Huh?” you frowned.
“Who are we (N/N) come on!”
“We’re… we’re Buck and (N/N),” you panted.
“And what do Buck and (N/N) do?” he asked.
“We-We prank people? Buck where the hell are you going with this?”
“Yeah sure we do that, but you know what we don’t do?” he grinned. “We don’t give up, now come on gorgeous show me what you got,”
You took a deep breath, squeezing his hand and nodding before letting him go stand with the obstetrician.
“Okay we’re going to start pushing (Y/N) are you ready?”
“No?” you asked and Buck shook his head in a chuckle. “Fine yeah, let’s get this little S.O.B. out of me,” you nodded.
“Alright start pushing in three, two, one,”
On the doctor’s count, you started to push, crying out in pain as you did so.
“Hey, hey! I can see his head!” Buck noted. “Come on (N/N) you got this, keep going!”
You pushed again at the doctor’s instruction, almost laughing when you heard Buck say,
“Oh, well yeah definitely a boy,”
“One more (Y/N), can you give me one more?” the doctor asked and you nodded pushing one more time, finally hearing the cry of your baby and falling back onto the bed while Buck came to tend to you, wiping away the sweat from your forehead with a spare towel.
“You did so well (N/N),” he smiled, happy tears in his eyes. “You were amazing,”
“Oh me? I did nothing y’know just carried a baby for nine months then kicked him out of my uterus, what’s new?” you chuckled tiredly and he laughed along with you, pressing a firm kiss to your temple.
“Miss (L/N), Mr. Buckley, I think you’ve got someone who’d like to meet you,” the doctor said softly walking over to you with a wrapped bundle. She handed you the baby and you carefully adjusted your arms to hold him comfortably.
“Hey baby,” you smiled, whispering quietly, not wanting to disturb the small child. “I’m your mama, and this is your daddy,” you said, turning to look up at Buck, the tears clearly welling in his eyes. “It’s nice to finally meet you, right, Buck?”
“Yeah,” he nodded with a sniff. “It’s real nice,”
You lowered your head and pressed a gentle kiss to his head before lifting him up slightly and started to hand him to Buck.
“You want to hold him?” you asked and he nodded his head carefully, reaching out his arms and enveloping the small baby in them.
“Hi Nash,” he sniffed again. “Jesus kid it hasn’t even been five minutes and I’d give the entire world to you if I could,”
“I’m sure you’ll find a way,” you yawned, the exhaustion finally catching up with you.
“You should rest (N/N),” he whispered, leaning down and resting his forehead on yours. “You’re just… you’re amazing okay?”
“Okay,” you whispered back. “But I can be amazing after I sleep,”
“Of course you can,” he chuckled. “I’ll be right here, rest well,”
“Someplace for a first outing,” you looked over at Buck and he shrugged. “Come one he’ll love the story when we tell it to him. Plus I forgot to tell everyone you had the baby until yesterday so either we come here or they go to the hospital and find an otherwise occupied room,”
“Alright, alright,” you nodded, taking Nash out of his car seat while Buck took care of the baby bag.
When you entered the station you could hear a very loud and obvious,
“They’re here!” from Chimney, causing you and Buck to laugh, quickly making your way upstairs to meet with everyone.
“Oh my God look who’s here!” Hen exclaimed giddily, making her way towards you and taking a peek at the small baby. “Guys he’s so precious,” she cooed. “And I can’t believe you didn’t tell us for a week that she had already had the baby!” Hen looked over at Buck and slapped him upside the head.
“Ow!” Buck groaned, rubbing the back of his head. “Do you want to meet the kid or not?”
“Fine, fine,” she rolled her eyes and Bobby, Athena and Chimney quickly came to join you guys.
“So does the little guy have a name?” Athena asked curiously.
“Yeah he does,” you nodded. “The wind blew us in a direction and that direction was Nash.” you grinned looking over at Bobby who seemed incredibly surprised by the revelation.
“Nash as in Captain Nash?” Chimney asked and you and Buck nodded.
“Thought it was appropriate after everything you helped us with,” Buck explained. “W-We hope you don’t mind it kind of just happened and we agreed on it,”
“N-No it’s… it’s really thoughtful,” Bobby nodded, trying to keep his composure, “Can I-,”
“Hold him? Of course,” you nodded, placing the baby in his arms, watching as the group crowded around him.
“Man, Bobby’s gonna make this kid fat as hell,” Hen muttered and you and Buck shook your heads with a laugh.
“As long as you guys love him, honestly, this kid could do a lot worse,” Buck noted, wrapping an arm around your shoulder and pulling you into his side.
“Yeah, and he’s got two great parents to walk him through life,” Athena gave you both a smile. “And a whole fire station too,”
“Peach sister!” Chimney held up a hand and Athena humoured him with a high five.
Station 118 finally, after nine long months, had its newest addition, little Nash Buckley.
“Finally managed to get him down?” you asked, holding a mug of hot tea and looking over at the view of the city.
“Yeah, he was a bit fussy, but what am I gonna expect, he’s a mama’s boy,”
Buck made his way towards you, standing right next to you and looking down at his feet.
“You know I’ve been thinking about our agreement, you know the one about me not sleeping with or dating anyone while you're pregnant,”
“Hmm,” you hummed, glancing at him for a moment. “Oh yeah, that,” you nodded. “Wanna get back in the game? Go back to whatever it was you were doing before?”
“Actually… yeah, b-but no,” he nodded. “I-uh I met someone and I wanna, I wanna do right by her. Try and do things differently. Do them right, not like the old Buck,”
“She must be special,” you sighed. “Does she… know about me? And Nash?” you asked, placing your mug on the nearby table, finally looking up at Buck.
“Yeah I think she does,” he smiled with a soft chuckle.
You swallowed thickly but continued.
“Well, who is she? What does she do?”
“Um, you see,” Buck said, licking his lips and taking your hands in his. “S-She’s a nurse and she’s got this amazing laugh a-and she just so happens to be the mother of my child,”
“Buck-,”
“(Y/N), just… just hear me out,” he interrupted you. “You and I we-we work together, something about you just makes me want to be a better person and I wanna make you feel-,”
“Buck shut up,” you whispered, slipping your hands out of his and grabbing his face, firmly pressing your lips to his while his hands wrapped around your waist.
Months, you had been waiting months to do that. And when your lips finally parted, slightly swollen and chuckling while you took in some air.
“I guess you were right,” you murmured while he continued to press soft kisses to the corner of your lips.
“About what? I’m almost never right,”
“You said given the chance I’d hook up with you, without a second thought. Let’s just say there aren’t many thoughts going through my head right now,”
Buck laughed, pulling you into his arms, allowing you to rest your chin on his shoulder.
“Guess everything kind of worked out didn’t it?” he noted.
“Yeah, I guess it did,”
Buck slipped his hand into your hair, pulling you back gently and pressing another kiss to your lips, his forehead resting against yours only to be interrupted by soft cries coming from your bedroom.
“Nash can mom have like three minutes of peace?” you whined, stomping your foot and Buck laughed.
“Well if mom wants she can stay in dad’s room tonight, get some real rest?”
“Mom would like that,” you nodded, pressing one last kiss to his lips before going to tend to Nash. “She would like that a lot,”
“Buck there’s some people out from who wanna talk to you,” Hen called. “Looks like reporters,”
“Huh, okay,” Buck wiped his hands and nodded, jogging down the stairs and meeting the reporter out front.
“Hey, firefighter Buckley right?” the reporter asked.
“Yeah, just call me Buck,” he nodded and offered his hand for her to shake.
“Well Buck I’m Carolina Saunders, with one of the local news stations, we were wondering if you might be able to answer some questions for us about a recent call you had,”
“Oh yeah, um for sure,” he nodded as the woman with her held up the camera.
“So is it hard to manage being a firefighter and just living life. You’re what in your mid-twenties,”
“Yeah I’m twenty-five,” Buck nodded. “I don’t know, shift work is tricky sometimes but we make it work,”
“And what about your calls, was this past call one of the most interesting or different types of emergencies,”
“I’m still a rookie,” Buck explained. “So I don’t have nearly as much experience as half the people at the station, but uh that call was a hard one.”
“But you saved four people,”
“Yeah, but it doesn't get less hard when you lose people,” he explained. “No matter how many times it happens,”
Carolina nodded and moved onto the next question.
“Well out Twitter seems to be blowing up,” she noted, just as your car pulled up into the lot. “Everyone’s wondering if you’re single,”
“Um, I am-,” he cut himself off when he saw you were struggling at getting Nash out of the car. “Could you excuse me a moment?”
He ran over to you, saying a quick hi before unbuckling his son from his car seat and cradling him in his arms while you took care of the baby bags.
“I gotta go back quickly,” he said, “You’ll be okay?”
“Yeah, go finish the interview I’ll be okay,”
Buck jogged back to Carolina and apologized.
“Sorry about that,” he chuckled. “What was the question again?”
“Oh just something from our Twitter followers, they’re asking if you’re single,” she laughed.
“Well I’m not sure if you could tell from this little guy, but no I’m not,” he smiled, looking over at you. “That’s my girlfriend and this is our son,”
“Oh, could we ask her some questions?”
“Sure if she wants,” he nodded. “Babe, c’mere,” he motioned with his head and you nodded.
“Hi,” you smiled and the reporter introduced yourself and asked if she could ask you some questions. “Sure,” you agreed.
“So what’s it like dating a first responder?”
“It’s hard sometimes, we’ve had some close calls but Buck loves it, I can’t imagine taking that away from him,” you explained.
“Oh that’s so sweet,” Carolina smiled. “Well we’ll let you go for now, but we’ve got permission from your Captain to stick around a bit longer and just get some filler footage if you don’t mind,”
“Yeah, yeah for sure,” Buck nodded and then turned his attention to you grinning like an idiot and pressing a soft kiss to your lips.
“Hey,” you chuckled.
“Hi,” he responded. “You good?”
“Great,” you assured him just a few of the people from the station house came outside to greet you.
“Oh look who’s here,” Bobby grinned, holding his hands out to Buck just as Nash mimicked his namesake and babbled at him to be held.
“You wanna see Bobby?” Buck asked. “You wanna go see Bobby?”
Nash squealed in delight as Buck swooped him over to Bobby who tossed him a little in the air before bringing him back down and peppering his face with kisses.
“Oh hey baby,” Hen smiled. “Nash seems to be having the time of his life with Bobby,”
“What can I say, my baby picks favourites,” you chuckled and hugged Hen.
“I’m not complaining,” Bobby grinned while Nash tried to bite off his nose.
“He teething?” Hen asked and you nodded.
“He loves chewing on Buck’s fingers, it’s gonna start hurting pretty soon, but for now it’s pretty cute,”
“We got Denny a teething necklace, it worked like a charm,”
“Oh I’ve seen those,” you nodded, “Hey Buck maybe we should think about getting one?”
“Yeah, ask long as it keeps my fingers out of his mouth. We can get him some of those chew things you put in the freezer too,”
“Oh look at Buck being all like a super dad,” Chimney chuckled and came over to join them.
“What can I say, I can be responsible,” Buck puffed out his chest only to be slapped in the head by Athena. “Ow woman!”
“Give him a break ‘Thena he’s good,” you chuckled, wrapping your arms around your boyfriend. “Real good,”
“So when’s the wedding?” Bobby asked. “Cause you guys have got a perfect ring bearer,”
“If I get anything to say, soon, but we all know that never happens,” Buck chuckled.
“You’ll never know if you don’t ask,” you said in a sing-song voice.
“Count on it gorgeous, it’ll happen,”

The One. (Evan Buckley)
This is my first time writing for my sweet baby Buck!! there is not a lot of stuff about Buck out there and this is probably crap but I kinda love it! I used first person and the name “Riley” just because I hate using Y/n and Riley is pretty gender neutral. You can obvi use your name. I wish I could make the character more gender neutral but I am a she/her so i’m just use to writing in that perspective. Anyway, I hope you like it and I hope to add on a few more of these soon!!
----------------
I was walking down the hallway of my apartment building to grab my mail from the mailbox in the lobby, looking like a hot mess. I never thought I would meet a cute boy there, so here I was, slept in comfy clothes, hair stinky and tangled from not being styled yet and my slippers that I had thrown on before I left my apartment. I got to the lobby and unlocked my mailbox, shifting through all the mail. Bills, ads, coupons, of course nothing exciting. I shut the door and turned around, looking at the deals they had on food for the local grocery store, when I heard papers fall to the ground and a loud sigh.
My eyes flicked up from the paper, to see a younger man on crutches trying to lean over and grab his mail. I shoved mine in my armpit and ran over and crouched to the floor to pick them up and hand them to him.
“I think these are yours.” I said, reaching my hand out.
“Thank you, I literally could not have done that without you.” The man laughs. When I look up, I’m met with the most beautiful blue-green eyes. He can’t be any older than 30. I nearly choke when I realize I wasn’t breathing… or talking.
“I-uh, i’m sure you could have, if you did the splits or something.” He laughs and it shows his beautiful smile, damn.
“You just moved in, right? I think you're across the hall from me. I’m in 112.”
“That would be correct, 113.”
“Well 113, I’m Riley.”
“Buck. Actually, Evan, but I mostly go by Buck.” We shake hands and smile at each other.
“Are you going right back to your apartment? I’ll bring your mail down for you.”
“That’d be great, it is just paper but believe it or not it’s super hard to hold things while on crutches.” He said as we started making our way down the hall to our apartments. He slips a little halfway down the hall but manages to catch himself.
“Like your body weight?” I giggle and Buck gives me a smirk in return. “How did you break it anyway?”
“A fire truck crushed it.”
“Like one of those toy ones?? You seriously need to workout.” He laughs again. I don’t even know what i’m saying at this point, just anything to get a laugh out of him.
“No, like one of those real ones.” He says. My face falls in embarrassment.
“Shit, Buck i’m sorry, you probably think i’m a terrible person and you just met me.”
“Hey, you didn’t know, it’s all good.” He smiled understandingly. “I’m a firefighter, down at the 118, not that that means anything to you. My team and I were on a call and there was a bomb on the truck that we didn’t know about, it was this whole thing and I was in the front seat, the truck exploded, flipped, I was thrown out and the truck landed on my ankle.”
I looked at him in disbelief. By now, we had made it the short distance to our respective residents.
“Wow, that sounds crazy, i’m really sorry Buck. Any... casualties?” I asked.
“No, thank god. We all lived and I just came out with this.” He said, opening his door and stepping inside.
“Well, uh, thanks for telling me about your traumatic life event in the 5 minutes that you’ve known me, here’s your mail and you know where to find me if you need anything.” I smile and turn to open my own door. Just as I'm about to unlatch it, Buck speaks up.
“Actually… I’m uh. I’m off the job right now and I don’t get many visitors. Do you wanna come in, hang out for a while?”
The question takes me by surprise. I turn around, ready to run inside of his apartment and get to know him more. And then I remember the way I look, the way I smell. All the time I have today is to shower and get ready to work. I have to turn him down. Dammit.
“I… would love to, Buck but. As you can see, I look like a mess, and I actually have to work today.” He shakes his head looking down about to head inside when I speak up this time. “But- if you’ll still be awake around 10:30-11, i can pick up a pizza on my way home and we can hang out then?”
His face brightens up and he smiles. “I will be very lonely but for you, i’d take a late night over no night.” He says and waddles into his apartment and shuts the door.
--------------
I grab the pizza out of the counter and thank the worker behind it, pushing my way through the door and out to my car. It was even earlier than I thought, 10pm, work being super slow. I rush home and run through the lobby down to my apartment, hurrying to unlock my door and sneak in, hoping Buck didn’t hear. I threw my things on the table and the pizza in the oven, that was off, but hoping it would keep it warm for a few extra minutes. I run to the bathroom, turning the water on to wash the sweat from the day away. I dry off as quickly as I ever had. I threw on a comfy bra and some sweats and pulled my hair into 2 dutch braids, slipped on some socks, grabbed my phone and the pizza and ran across the hall.
I situated myself before knocking on the door. It takes him a minute to get there because of the crutches.
“God you took so long, I think the pizza got cold.”
“Ha ha, very funny.” He said, moving to the side so I could come in, shutting the door behind me.
“I hope you like just pepperoni cause that’s all they had.”
“That's’ okay, I’ll eat anything with carbs.”
“Does Pizza have carbs?”
“I think so? Beer?”
“Yeah.” I giggled, setting the pizza on the table and walking to the kitchen to help. I find some paper plates and grab the beers out of his hands.
“Is this what you do? Prey on the crippled?”
“No, I saw someone in distress and he just happened to be funny too, so I thought we could be friends.” We sit down on his couch and dig into the pizza.
“Well you came along at the perfect time.” Buck said.
“So tell me about yourself, Evan Buckley.” I smirked, taking a sip of my drink.
“Well, I grew up in Pennsylvania, with my mom and dad and my sister. Super close with my sister, super distant with my parents.” He says, sort of sad, but also with a hint of joking.
“You seem... pretty okay with that.”
“My parents are good people, just not good parents, as my sister has always told me. They just were never there.... emotionally, I guess? There’s a pretty big age gap between me and Maddie, 9 years, so she pretty much raised me.”
“I’m sorry, Buck. I can’t imagine how that feels... but that’s amazing that you have your sister. I love the name Maddie. Does she live around here?”
“Mhmm, she moved here a little over a year ago after her divorce and now she works as a 911 dispatcher downtown. And yeah, it’s pretty great. We’ve worked out a lot of things since she got here and I think we’re closer than ever.”
I smiled, finishing up my slice.
“So helping people just runs in the family?”
“Well even though she’s older, I was a firefighter before she was a dispatcher so if anything, she copied me.” I laughed. “Do you have any siblings?”
I grabbed another piece of pizza. “I do. 3 brothers. 2 older, one of them is actually my twin.” His eyes went wide.
“Awesome, I’ve always thought twins were cool. Are you guys identical?”
“Fraternal, thank god. If he looked just like me, I would scream.” We both laughed. “We’re from Michigan, I'm the only one that lives out here. I moved out here about a year ago as well to go to school.”
Buck smiled and nodded while swallowing another piece almost whole.
“So does your girlfriend live here too?” I said. Buck almost choked on his pizza when I said that.
“Sorry, uh what?”
“Oh sorry, I just saw you guys when you were looking at the place and when you moved in, you were handsy and I just assumed she was your girlfriend. And I am here pretty late so I was just curious if she lived here.” I mumbled, embarrassed for asking.
“No, no it’s okay.” He reassured me, putting his hand out to comfort me. “Ali, she was my girlfriend. Not for very long. She never lived here. We were together when the truck fell on me and she just couldn’t handle that lifestyle.”
“I’m sorry, Buck.”
“Nah it’s okay. She was great but just wasn’t, the one.”
------------------
6 months later.
Time flew by. After that night, Buck and I exchanged numbers and texted as friends all the time. We hung out every Saturday night and had pizza and popcorn and watched movies and talked. We had more in common than I thought and Buck was so sweet and funny. We never stopped laughing. It was like we were made to meet. We had become close in that short amount of time, he told me everything that happened with Maddie and her ex. He introduced me to everyone at the station, Maddie, Chim, Hen, Bobby, Athena and of course, his best friend Eddie and Christopher. I helped him through the stress of his lawsuit with the city and the aftermath trauma from the Tsunami.
The night I felt us get really close, was when he opened up to me about his struggle with sex addiction and about Abby.
I had opened up to him about being a virgin at 22.
It was nice to have Buck as a friend but I couldn’t help thinking of him as more. More than just a pretty face and a sexy body.
After Buck got his cast off, I promised him we would go to Disneyland, since he had never been. We invited Eddie and Christopher as well, knowing Christopher would be ecstatic to go. We were walking down a street in New Orleans Square, Buck alongside Christopher, picking the next ride to go on that was safe for him. Eddie and I were trailing behind, when I decided to open my mouth.
“Buck really is amazing with him.”
“Yeah, i’m so lucky to have a best friend who loves my kid like his own. I never thought I would have that.”
“He’s going to be a great dad to his own kids someday.”
“Are you volunteering as tribute?” Eddie joked.
“What?? Why would you say that?”
“Because you're crazy about him! I can tell by how you look at him, how you are with him. You’re so into him.”
I looked down at my shoes, kicking them on the ground.
“Is it that obvious?”
Eddie laughed. “I mean, I don’t think he’s caught on but, yeah, the rest of us can tell.”
I smiled, blushing when I looked up at Buck and Christopher in line at the Haunted Mansion, waving to us. Eddie and I waved back.
“It was just nice that when we met and we exchanged numbers and started to hang out, it was just as friends, I didn’t need to feel pressure for it to be anything else if it wasn’t supposed to be that way.”
“I know Buck feels the same way. Most girls throw themselves at Buck because of how he looks. No one cares to get to know what's underneath..”
“Until Abby.”
“Bingo. And even now, he still has trouble, both with himself and with others. He’s always wondering if they still want him for his body and he’s worried he’ll give in. But I know with you it’s different. He’s crazy about you.”
My head whips up and looks at Eddie.
“He is? W-what? Are you sure, you’re not mistaking it for just being friendly?”
Eddie laughs at my nervousness. “No, no Riles, I promise. He never shuts up about you, he talks about you more than he mentions weird natural disasters and we both know that he could talk about those forever.”
I think to myself for a minute, wondering how someone as amazing as Evan Buckley could want some stick in the mud like me.
“I know what you're thinking.” Eddie speaks up. ‘You’re not boring. I don’t think so at least, and I for sure know Buck doesn’t.
“What if he’s still hung up on Abby?” I blurt out. Eddie looks at me, knowing that would probably be another insecurity of mine.
“Riley,” Eddie sighs, “Buck was head over heels for Abby. She was the one who helped him realize he is not just a piece of meat.”
I sniffle a little bit, Eddie’s speech not helping.
“But- He is absolutely crazy, insane, i can’t even think of another word for it, for you. I know he didn’t tell you this cause he told me not to mention it to you but…Abby was in town last month. She was on that huge train that derailed.”
My eyes started to water more. “Great, are you going to tell me that they’re back together?”
“Are you not listening? Look, he was in shock at first. But she’s engaged, married now. She has 2 stepdaughters, a family. They met up after and said their peace. She’s his past, your his future. Just tell him how you feel. Please. I want you two to be happy and I know you would be a million times happier if one of you idiots tells the other.”
Eddie started to laugh when I started to giggle through my tears.
“Thank you, Eddie. You're a really good friend.” He pulls me in for a hug. “You and Christopher deserve someone amazing too.” I smiled, pulling away.
“Yeah, I know. We’ll find her someday. But for now, we have you and Buck.”
Just then, Buck and Christopher return from the ride, smiling and laughing and we continue the rest of the day at the amusement park.
------------
The next day, Buck had a shift and I had the day off. I had slept on what Eddie had said and decided I was going to tell Buck tonight how I felt. I bought a nice pair of jeans and some cute sandals and a pretty top, trying to dress up a little but not too much. I ordered his favorite take out and texted Eddie. He told me they were on a call but would probably get back to the station about the same time I would.
I parked my car and got out, bringing the food inside. Just as I was about to walk up the stairs, I heard the trucks pulling in. I stood there with a bright but nervous smile on my face. They all got off the truck, smiling as they walked past me. Buck was the last to walk up to me.
“Hey Buck.”
“Hey.” He said, sort of coldly. “What’s up?”
“Well, I uh. I just… I have something I wanna talk to you about and I got your favorite take out.” I smiled.
He looked at me, an odd mood coming off him. “You wanna talk to me about what?”
“Well, it’s sort of something I want to do in private.”
“Anything you have to say to me, you can say in front of everyone.”
My face became heated, embarrassment creeping up. “Buck, I-”
“What? Do you think I don’t already know?”
“Already know what?”
“That you and Eddie are fucking.”
My face went white.
Eddie’s face went white.
Everyone else's face dropped.
“What-”
“Yeah, you think I don’t know. I really thought we kinda had something going you know, we were friends and we were kinda flirty and I thought maybe soon we could go on a date. But then after I saw you two being so close yesterday, I knew you were probably fucking my best friend.” He said, pushing past me.
“Buck, what are you-”
“And now you wanna rub it in my face, by telling me formally with my favorite food. Forget it, Riley.”
The tears were streaming down my face at this point, not caring who saw or that all my make up was ruined. I turned on my heel and ran out of the station, throwing the food in the trash on the way out.
I drove home and changed into my sweats, taking what was left of my makeup off. I crawled into bed and tried to fall asleep, but my phone kept going off.
Eddie:I’m so sorry that happened.
Eddie:I should have known, he’s been cold toward me today too.
Eddie:I should have told you not to come.
Eddie:I’ll try to talk to him.
Bobby:I’m sorry that happened, kid. I’ll tell him that was totally unprofessional and reprimand him for it.
Hen:If you need anything, let me know. Call me or text me, hun.
Chim:What an asshole.
Athena:Bobby told me what happened, tell me when and i’ll go arrest him.
I threw my phone back on my nightstand after shutting it off and turned over in my bed, crying myself to sleep.
--------
I heard a loud bang that woke me from my sleep. I jumped up and looked at the clock.
2:27am
I figured it was just someone next door and then I heard it again. I wandered downstairs slowly, hearing it for a 3rd time, realizing it was coming from my front door. I went over and looked through the peephole, seeing it was Buck standing on the other side. I sighed, preparing myself to fight again, swinging the door open.
“Evan I really don’t want-”
I was cut off by his pair of soft lips on mine. I was taken aback at first, trying to process that he was kissing me and not yelling at me. I felt his bag drop to the side and both his hands find their way on my back. He pulls away after a few seconds.
“Kiss me back.” He whispers.
“But Buck-” I slightly moaned.
“But what? I know you want to.”
“But i’m still pissed at you.” I pushed him away. “I do want to kiss you, Buck, more than anything. But I tried to tell you how I felt tonight and before I could even say anything, you started to scream at me and accuse me of sleeping with Eddie, when you damn sure know i’m still a virgin and you’re going to be the one to take my virginity and you do it in front of the entire firehouse, embarrassing me and you think you can just come here and kiss me and everything will be fine? Hate to break it to you Buck, we’re not in a romance movie.”
Buck looks at me for a minute. “You want me to be your first?” He tilts his head to the side, smirking.
“Seriously? That’s what you got from that?” I said. Buck smiled and grabbed my waist, leading me to the couch. We sat down together and he started to speak.
“Riley, I am so sorry about what I did tonight. I cannot believe I acted that way. I just got so furious thinking that you were into Eddie after all the time I spent gushing about you to him and him encouraging me to tell you how I felt and then just feeling like I was betrayed. I took my anger out on you, on both of you and I am so so so sorry. I will spend my entire life trying to make up for it. I will totally understand if you don’t wanna go out with me anymore but I would love to take you on a date and try out this whole relationship thing between you and me.” He said.
I thought about it for a minute, turning away from him. I knew I was going to forgive him, knowing his apology was sincere. He got up from the couch and started to walk towards the door. Just as he opened it, I got up and spun him around, kissing him back. He was the one in shock now. I pulled away, “Kiss me back.” I giggled. He looked at me for a second before attacking my lips. We kissed for a hot minute before pulling away.
“I should have done that forever ago.”
“Yeah you should have.”
“You looked beautiful tonight, the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. I’m sorry I ruined it.”
“Take me out on that date and I’ll get all prettied up again.”
Buck kissed me again, smiling. He intertwined our hands together, rubbing his thumbs on top of mine.
“Okay, well. I should go to bed and let you sleep, I'll see you tomorrow?” he says walking out the door. I pulled him back swiftly.
“Or… you could stay?”
He gave me a questionable look.
“We’re not horny teenagers and I think we like each other enough that we’ll be able to withstand it until we’re ready.” I said, our foreheads touching, hands running up and down each other.
“I think I'm still a horny teenager but I would wait forever for you.” Buck said, kissing my forehead.
I locked the door behind him and put his stuff down on my couch. I led him up to my bed and watched him strip down to his underwear. I practically drooled at the sight of his body. I had only seen him shirtless a handful of times and as much as I loved his personality, his body was still amazing. We pulled back the covers and cuddled up under them. He wrapped his arms around my back, giving my forehead and cheeks soft kisses, as I snuggled up into his chest, falling asleep quickly.
“Goodnight, baby.” He whispered.
“Goodnight, my sweet Evan.”

Eddie met you first. You were exhausted, nearing the end of a busy 12 hour shift, with your hair spilling out from what was once carefully constructed braid and remnants of god knows what on your scrubs. He’d handed over a driver involved in a nasty collision and was sitting waiting for Hen so they could head back to the station.
Eddie had grabbed a seat across from the nurses station and had a perfect view of you taking a sip out of a coffee mug only to grimace at the taste.
Simultaneously as you thrust it back onto the desk in disgust a paper coffee cup appeared before your eyes.
“I think you could use this,” Eddie smiled, gently nudging your hand with the, blissfully, still warm coffee as you stared at him in confusion.
“I guess I now know why my ex didn’t believe me when I swore up and down I liked his cooking,” you quipped, gratefully grabbing the drink.
“If it helps the fact that the mug had been sitting untouched since I sat down nearly twenty minutes ago also indicated whatever was in that cup wasn’t going to go down well,”
“Hmm I’ll except that explanation, solely because I’d like to stay blissfully unaware if my face is an open book or not.” You took a sip of the coffee, the heat almost making up for it being from a shitty hospital drink machine before coming to a realisation.
“Hang on, does that mean I just stole your coffee?”
“Stole is an interesting choice of words when I literally handed it to you. But no, you technically stole my colleagues.”
“Even better, get me in the bad books of someone I don’t even know.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll only tell her that you claimed it while my back was turned and proceeded to call her all sorts of bad names,”
“Wonderful, I’m assuming she’s a firefighter too?” You asked having caught sight of the man’s LA Fire uniforme. He nodded in affirmation. “Great, it’s not like I’ll ever see her again,” you noted sarcastically.
“Im not sure you will, since I for one have never seen you before,”
“That’s because I’ve just moved here. Regrettably I don’t know the good hiding spots yet so I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot of each other,”
“Well I for one look forward to it, I have plenty of other colleagues I can turn against you,”
“Great,” you laughed, barely managing to stop sitting out the coffee.
“Well there she is now,” He pointed at a women across the room waving at him to get a move on. “Nice to meet you Dr…. Sorry I didn’t get your name,”
You laughed, introducing yourself and shaking his hand.
“Right well I’m Eddie,” he said, giving you a nod as he turned away,”

Buck’s first meeting with you was a bloody mess, literally. It was only a few weeks after Eddie had first saw you, and in true Buck fashion it was chaos.
Los Angeles had been hit with a Tsunami, the worst in the US since 1964, and the hospital was overwhelmed with patients. Luckily Cedars-Sinai was far enough inland that the hospital hadn’t been damaged, but others had. Meaning that they couldn’t take on emergencies but they also had to transfer critical patients who were already there.
The hours since the Tsunami were a blur as you moved through emergency patients addressing their injuries enough to keep them stabilised, before moving them off to specialised wards.
You were currently in the bay waiting on an incoming ambulance, with a critical but awake patient onboard. From what you could gather the poor guy had been at the pier when the tsunami hit, spent the day rescuing others despite being already injured, before collapsing at the makeshift VA hospital. They’d sent him across as he needed to be imaged to make sure their wasn’t internal damage, and with the VA running on generators they weren’t able to do it there.
The ambulance pulled up abruptly, knocking you out of your thoughts, and the paramedics open the door to a man who was smiling despite the downright awful day you had. You followed the paramedics into the ER, listening as they rattled out Evans, Buck as he apparently preferred, injuries and symptoms.
“Hi Buck,” you introduced yourself, “sound like you had a rough day,”
“Wasn’t my favourite. Although I’m sure yours hasn’t been a walk in the park either,”
“More like a marathon dash if I’m honest. However between the two of us I think I’ve had it easier, I got to stay dry after all,”
“Not a fan of swimming?” Buck laughed.
“Love swimming, just never liked waves. Silver lining to all this is that I get to call up my mum and tell her how wrong she was calling my fear ‘irrational’,” Buck started laughing again, but quickly grimaced and held the left side of his upper abdomen.
“Alright, time to pause my one woman show and get you check out. You lie back and relax okay,”
“Thanks Doc,”
You quickly went through the motions of your head to toe assessment. Buck had clearly suffered rib bruising and had cuts that had been hastily patched but needed better dressings, otherwise externally he was in surprisingly good nick. It was the leg you were worried about, ordering a CT to make sure it was all okay. You placed Buck back into a quite corner of the ER to get his bandages redressed and wait out the results while you dived back into the fray. After a few hours you got to give him the good news.
“Hiya Buck,” you greeted pushing through the curtains. “Your looking a bit more spritely,”
“It must be the food they serve here, ever since I got my hands on a sandwich I’ve been feeling a million bucks,” he winked.
“Oh ha ha. I also don’t believe you, I’ve tried the food here and I don’t think anyone’s had a higher reaction than ‘meh’. Should I call for a psych consult?”
“Threatening a sick man. That’s low,”
“Well the good news is I wouldn’t call you sick, just slightly bruised and battered. You’ll have to promise to rest up but I don’t see why you can’t go home straight away,”
“That’s great news! Thanks for everything today, this hospital stay has been one of the more pleasant ones due to you,”
“Bet you say that to all your doctors. Now is someone available to pick you up or do you need me to give anyone a call?”
“My partners just outside making a call, I’m all good to go! Thanks again,”
“Bye Buck,” you smiled closing the curtain behind you.

Eddie was exceptionally grateful tonight that both of his boys were safe and relatively uninjured under his roof.
Chris had taken some coaxing to get to sleep but he’d eventually drifted off. Buck, after Eddie had told him to stop being a idiot and thinking he was in any way to blame for the events of the day, was in a surprisingly good mood.
So good he was in fact humming under his breath a rather upbeat tune as they lay in bed.
“Sweetheart,” Eddie whispered, turning Bucks head gently towards him so they were lying facing each other. “Are you sure your okay? Not that I want to doubt you but you’re taking today exceptionally well,”
“Ed’s don’t worry, I am now. I wasn’t to be honest initially but the doctor at the hospital was great and she calmed me down, and got me laughing,”
“That sounds like excellent beside manner,”
“The excellent-est. I would like to request her for any future, likely inevitable, injuries I sustain.”
“Shut up Buck, I don’t want to see you hurt again if I can help it.” Eddie groaned, placing a kiss on his forehead. “Which doctor was it?”
Buck relayed your name smiling, and Eddies face dropped. “Oh.”
“Oh? What’s oh mean Eddie?” Buck questioned sitting up and turning his body to Eddie.
“I’ve met her that’s all, and she’s young and pretty. Funny too.”
“Was that oh jealousy?” Buck asked exasperated, “you silly man,”
“Its just she would be perfect for you, and I imagine a lot less baggage.”
“Sweetheart, while I admit she’s appealing, I love you. Your what I want, and I happen to love Chris,”
“I know, I’m sorry. I can’t helped being worried.”
Buck pulled him into a kiss. “Don’t be,” he whispered against his lips before pulling away.
“Wait hang on!” He paused as Eddie tried to chase his lips. “You noticed all those things about her too, yes?”
“Maybe…”
“So does that mean you are also attracted to her?”
“Buck I would never do anything to jeopardise…”
“Ed’s I know that,” Buck cut him off, “I think this is a good thing”
“How so?”
“Well we both like her. So why don’t we both date her?”
“Im sorry what?”
“You. Me. Her,” Buck punctuated. “Doesn’t that sound good,”
“I don’t think it’s that simple Buck,”
“Why not? If she wants this too than what’s the issue? And don’t you dare say it’s not accepted, because you and I both know that caring what people think only hurts.”
“Okay.”
“Okay?”
“Okay Buck. If she’s also interested then let’s do it”

The last few weeks had been filled with thinking about Eddie and Buck. You managed to meet two lovely men, who talking with seemed as natural as breathing, so you could help day dream about them both individually and rather embarrassingly together.
So when the two men walked into the ER together you were almost sure you were daydreaming again. They’d approached one of the nurses who mortifingly pointed straight at you, ensuring the boys caught you staring. You gave an embarrassed wave as they came towards you.
“Hi Doctor,” Buck winked.
“Hi Buck, Eddie. Nice to see you both…together,”
“Ah yes, literally actually. We’re boyfriends” Eddie acknowledged, his face flushing red.
“Oh that’s great,” although the disappointing feeling washing over seemed to disagree, “I don’t doubt you’re amazing together,” you said genuinely. At the very least it gave you hope that two of the most genuine people you had met were together. “Here for a follow up?”
“No actually, I hope this isn’t too upfront but we we’re hoping you’d like to join us for dinner sometime soon?” Eddie asked, Buck nodding beside him in encouragement.
“Oh, as a thank you? You absolutely don’t need to do that,”
“No, although I definitely want to thank you,” Buck replied, “as a date,”
“A date?” You squeaked.
“We know it’s unorthodox but we both couldn’t stop thinking about you and once we realised we were thinking about the same person we had to try,”
“You do realise we’re going to be a scheduling nightmare right? I mean doctors and firefighters aren’t know for their set hours”
“Worse comes to worse there is the hospital cafeteria, they have some of the best sandwiches” Buck jokes.
“And coffee,” Eddie added.
“Delusional the both of you. It’s like you want this to fail”
“Is that a yes?”
“I get off in 15, meet you in the cafeteria?”

"Boy's I feel like measuring the doorframe was something you two should have thought of. You are firefighters after all!"
"Babe, you clearly forgot you were suppose to be the smart one in this relationship," Buck declared, ready to admit defeat.
"Mis amores, stop laying blame where it doesn't belong,"
"And where does it belong Eddie?" You questioned.
"Obviously at the feet of the salesman who sold us this mattress in the first place. If we had gone with the cheaper option we would not be in this mess,"
"To be fair to the poor man, it would only fit because it was hardly thicker than a camping bed. You could probably fold it like paper. Maybe we should have just stuck with the old bed."
"(Y/n/n) honey, I love sleeping close to you I do. But I cannot face another summer in that queen bed, it's barely fit for two people let alone three. And everyone time Chris comes in, in the middle of the night, I'm the one who always ends up with an elbow to the face."
"Yeah I wonder where he got that from," Buck grumbled under his breath, rubbing the bruise he had gotten on his forearm from Eddie the previous night.
"Okay okay, you're right. We needed this. And I am determined we will get it into the bedroom. So step aside, let me have a go,"
"Honey if we couldn't get it in I'm not too sure what you expect to happen... but sure yep have a go," Eddie backtracked, catching your withering glare.
You backed up, confusing the boys, before breaking into a sprint towards the mattress jammed in the doorframe. With one mighty push, an impressive yell to go with it, the mattress finally gave and you were through into the bedroom. The momentum toppled the mattress over and you fell ontop.
"Success!!" You yelled, star-fished on top of the mattress. "You two better start reconsidering what you bring to our relationship cause it looks like I am the smart one and the strong one! I think I rule this relationship"
"And we bow down," Buck declares as they both tumble onto the mattress and start peppering you with kisses.

“It’s parent teacher evening next week,” Chris declares passing over a crinkled flyer from his school backpack.
Eddie grabbed the paper reading over the information. “Of course buddy, it’s on my day off anyway. I’ll be there.”
“What about mom and pop?,”
“Superman, I’m not sure we should go. Our family is not exactly traditional and we don’t want cause any problems for you at school.” Buck replied carefully.
“But you’re both my parents too.”
“Of course we are baby,” You soothed. “But sometimes other people, wrongly, think they are allowed to have a say in what makes other people happy. We’re just worried that another parent would pass their opinions onto their child and make it not nice at school,”
“Maybe Mom can come with us?,” Eddie tried compromising.
“No. I won’t go unless Bucky is there too,”
“Superman it’s okay, as much as I would love to be there you and your safety is my priority,”
“NO. I want you all there. You’re my parents and it’s a parent teacher evening. If anyone is angry about that then it is there problem,”
Your eyes water at this kind little boy who you if the pleasure to help raise. You knew this issue was bound to come up eventually, and maybe Chris was right it was the bigots problems not ours. Looking at Buck and Eddie you nodded your consent, and they both did so in return.
“You’re absolutely right Chris, we’re all very lucky to be your parents. All three of us will be there,”
