so im sure everyones fully well aware of the magic 8 ball site fob is using to promote a contest to win some tickets to see them in nashville. the little 8ball widget theyve got in browser is also modeled on the physical 8ball that they had in the vip merch packages for tourdust's first leg, which is cool! but of particular note is the way that, to fill out the contest form, you have to pick your favorite fall out boy songs. and the sheer breadth of what is allowed is...interesting? it's not cohesive by any means, but it is really wild the selection of songs they have here because not all of them are fob songs. in fact, quite a few of them aren't.
i went directly to the source code and got a full list of all possible songs that you could input (which you can check for yourself by right-clicking and selecting "view source"). i'm going to list them here for archival purposes, with a few notes/explanations cause some of these are WILD.
there are 187 songs total listed.
bolded songs indicate songs that are demos or never received an official release
italicized songs are songs by other bands
underlined songs indicate songs that are covers
songs with an asterisk beside them (*) indicate they are from patrick's solo catalogue. two asterisks (**) are for pete's.
additional commentary by me will be [in brackets]
20 Dollar Nose Bleed 27 7 Minutes in Heaven (Atavan Halen) 7-9 Legendary A Little Less Sixteen Candles, a Little More "Touch Me" A Nice Myth [one of the earliest fall out boy demos, found on their first ep, and only the casette version at that] Allie* Alone Together Alpha Dog America's Suitehearts American Beauty/American Psycho (song) American Made Art of Keeping Up Disappearances As Long as I Know I'm Getting Paid* Austin, We Have a Problem Baby Annihilation Bad Side of 25* Bang the Doldrums Beat It Big Hype* Bishops Knife Trick Bob Dylan Bounce [this is a song that came out on then-Decaydance labelmates The Cab's debut record, Whisper War, which patrick produced. he has writing credit and also is credited with background vocals (and also shows up in the music video)] Caffeine Cold Calm Before the Storm Centuries Champagne for My Real Friends, Real Pain for My Sham Friends Champion Check Your Phone** Chicago is So Two Years Ago Church City in a Garden Coast (It's Gonna Get Better)* Coffee's for Closers Cryptozoology* Cute Girls* Cyanide** [this is a nothing, nowhere song that pete did some spoken word parts and backing vocals on] Dance Miserable* Dance, Dance Dead on Arrival Dear Future Self (Hands Up) Death Valley Deep Blue Love* [song patrick did for the indie short film "spell"] Demigods Disloyal Order of Water Buffaloes Don't You Know Who I Think I Am? I Got Nothing, But You Got Something [this is the one that really perplexes me. there's no evidence of this song actually existing, other than an unverified genius post and an article on a single fandom wiki. it is inexplicably listed here despite its very existence being questionable at best.]
I Slept with Someone in Fall Out Boy and All I Got Was This Stupid Song Written About Me I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me) I'm Like a Lawyer with the Way I'm Always Trying to Get You Off (Me & You) I've Been Waiting [this is technically a lil peep song with fall out boy as a feature] I've Got a Dark Alley and a Bad Idea That Says You Should Shut Your Mouth (Summer Song) I've Got All This Ringing in My Ears and None on My Fingers Immortals Irresistible It's Hard to Say 'I Do', When I Don't It's Not a Side Effect of the Cocaine, I Am Thinking It Must Be Love Jet Pack Blues Just One Yesterday Lake Effect Kid (song) Lake Shore Drive [this is a song patrick covered on the piano at wrigley, first night of tourdust] Love from the Other Side Love Will Tear Us Apart Love, Selfish Love* Love, Sex, Death Lullabye Mad at Nothing* Miss Missing You Moving Pictures My Heart Is the Worst Kind of Weapon My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up) New Dreams [this is a bonus track on pax am days, a naked rayguns cover] Nobody Puts Baby in the Corner Novocaine Of All the Gin Joints in All the World One of Those Nights [another song from the cab's whisper war. this one has patrick doing vocals very prominently] Open Happiness [this was a huge collaborative piece done for a coca cola commercial. patrick was on it along with big names like cee lo green, janelle monae, and labelmates travie mccoy and brendon urie] Our Lawyer Made Us Change the Name of This Song So We Wouldn't Get Sued Parker Lewis Can't Lose (But I'm Gonna Give It My Best Shot) Past Life [llamania ep] Pavlove People Never Done a Good Thing* Porcelain* Pretty in Punk Rat a Tat Reinventing the Wheel to Run Myself Over Roxanne Run Dry (X Heart X Fingers)* San Diego [this is a blink-182 song that patrick did some writing for] Saturday Saturday Night Again* Save Rock and Roll (song) Sending Postcards from a Plane Crash (Wish You Were Here) She's My Winona Short, Fast, and Loud Snitches and Talkers Get Stitches and Walkers So Good Right Now So Much (For) Stardust (song) So Sick [this is a song patrick has exclusively covered live, so it's a fascinating inclusion] Sober [another blink-182 song patrick did some writing for] Sophomore Slump or Comeback of the Year Star 67 Stay Frosty Royal Milk Tea Sugar, We're Goin Down Summer Days (song) [this is a martin garrix song patrick lent some vocals to] Sunshine Riptide Super Fade Switchblades and Infidelity Tell That Mick He Just Made My List of Things to Do Today The "I" In Lie* The (After) Life of the Party The (Shipped) Gold Standard The Carpal Tunnel of Love The Kids Aren't Alright The Kintsugi Kid (Ten Years) The Last of the Real Ones The Mighty Fall The Music or the Misery The Patron Saint of Liars and Fakes The Phoenix The Pink Seashell The Pros and Cons of Breathing The Take Over, the Breaks Over The World's Not Waiting (For Five Tired Boys in a Broken Down Van) This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race This City* Thnks fr th Mmrs (song) [for some reason the site specifies song here, despite that not being necessary. the only other times this distinction is relevant is when songs share a title with their albums, i.e. save rock and roll] Thriller Tiffany Blews Twin Skeleton's (Hotel in NYC) Uma Thurman Untitled 1 (Colorado Song) Untitled 2 (Jakus Song) [both of these are recently released tttyg era demos] W.A.M.S. When I Made You Cry* Where Did the Party Go Wilson (Expensive Mistakes) Wrong Side of Paradise [llamania ep] XO You're Crashing, But You're No Wave Young and Menace Young Volcanoes Yule Shoot Your Eye Out
in conclusion i have no idea who compiled this list. it doesn't include every song patrick and pete have ever touched (notice the lack of gym class heroes, cobra starship, and hush sound discography) but it has a really weird selection of songs. i mean, blink songs patrick wrote on?? its bizarre.
anyway do you think if we mass request swing me by the rafters they'll have to do it

"here comes the sun."
synopsis: a son of poseidon and a child of apollo is quite an interesting combination. pairing: percy jackson x gn child of apollo reader headcanons. word count: 0.8k
• First of all, absolute power couple.
• Percy's expertise in water-based activities and your talents in archery and healing provides a unique balance and synergy in your relationship. Together, you're a powerhouse of skill and talent. You'd both be able to play off each other's strengths and cover each other's weaknesses very well, with your different skills being an advantage. (everybody knows this. you two aren't allowed to be on the same team of Capture the Flag anymore because in no world would that be a fair game.)
• Percy is absolutely in awe of you. He thinks you're the coolest person in the world and he's especially enamored with your musical talent. He feels a deep sense of pride whenever you perform because not only is he amazed by your abilities and dedication but also, you're this talented??? How??? Like, you're gorgeous, intelligent, skillful, AND you can shred on the guitar?? Leave some for the rest of us, damn.
• Painting dates!! Sort of. Most of the time they consist of Percy doodling on the side of your canvas while you actually paint, but neither of you mind. Percy's drawings are — in your opinion — the highlight of the entire date. Some of your favorite doodles of his include stick figure drawings of you and him, copies of whatever you're painting, and random water buffalos for literally no reason whatsoever… but they're kinda cute though.
• Jam sessions in music stores aren't uncommon when the two of you are on break. They usually consist of you trying out different instruments while Percy trails behind you, asking the most miscellaneous questions.
"What's this thing?" Percy asks, holding up a device that he found while you were browsing. "It's a capo," you respond, checking the price tag on a lyre you've had your eye on. "It's used to raise the pitch of the strings on a guitar by clamping onto the head." "Why's it look like a laundry clip?" "Some questions are better left unanswered, Percy."
• Percy is big on quality time and he loves partaking in your interests. He never really bothered to improve at archery, but if you're practicing it then he's going with you, even if he's not very good at it. He doesn't even particularly mind when you chide him for messing up because he can tell by your smile that you're not really mad at him and — okay, he's not exactly trusted around your guitar anymore either, but it's the thought that counts.
• Your boyfriend loves, loves, LOVES when you show off your artistic abilities. Just when he thought you couldn't get more talented, he sees you working on a painting and, gosh, it's like he fell in love all over again. He just finds it so impressive how you can tell so many stories through your art, and he most definitely has a few of your pieces framed. He lets you draw on his personal belongings all the time. His sneakers, skateboard, you get the point. And he always stares at them whenever he starts to miss you too. Hell, he'll even let you doodle on his arm if you want to. (he traces over your doodles when they start to fade.)
• One of Percy's love languages is definitely physical touch. Whether it's a hand around your waist or an arm slung around your shoulder, he's always touching you in one way or another. He also shows his physical affection with smaller gestures, such as linking pinkies, leaning his knee against yours, playing with your fingers, etc. Also, hand kisses. A lot of them. I'm talking Jane Austen style, warm kisses to each of your fingers before parting.
• Matching jewelry!! A while back, you gifted him a sun necklace, which he proudly wears around the camp. In return, he bought you an ocean charm for your charm bracelet.
"So we can match!" Explained Percy, clipping on the charm to your bracelet as you held out your hand for him. "And look," He said once it was secured. Percy flipped over the charm to reveal your initials and his, joined with a plus sign engraved on the back. The charm jingles around whenever you two hold hands, which causes both of you to smile. ( + percy runs his fingers over the necklace you gifted him whenever he starts to miss you :( )
• Percy often collects things that remind him of you. Lemon-flavored candy, sunflowers, heart-shaped rocks, you name it. He keeps them all arranged neatly on his desk, right next to the origami hippocampi you made for him.
• You two are so in sync with each other, it's crazy. If you're ever in a "don't laugh." situation, do NOT look over at Percy because the second you two make eye contact, you'll be laughing up a storm.
• Your personalities complement each other so well; your presence being a soothing balance to Percy's sometimes impulsive and unpredictable personality. You're the light of his life and he wouldn't have it any other way.

I was stricken in the middle of the night by a “line” I suppose is the best term and I even started to write out a bigass thing to plop in here for ya since I have no intention of using them. But then I felt weird about it, like that was excessive, so I just broke it down to basics:
You or Reader or whomever is very inexperienced, in no small part due to her own insecurities regarding herself in the act of sexual pleasure — even when it’s just her taking care of herself. All those tiny things that are natural like heavy breathing or twitching, face burning up as it scrunches. Hell, even the messiness that comes with, well, coming! Worst part is, she knows it’s ridiculous to feel this way about things nearly everybody does in some way but she just can’t help but feel she does it “so ugly”. Maybe it’s residual religious guilt, maybe her self-esteem is just that low.
Whatever the case, she somehow manages to stammer her way into an evening with Terzo. Maybe she sought him out specifically for his prowess, maybe they’ve been seeing each other. All in all, though? She’s hoping he’ll be the end up these insecurities. That with those magic fingers he displays in those clawed gloves or caressing imaginary pussies on stage — that they can reach inside her and stroke out those insecurities. Leave her cured.
And stroke he does, leaving her a panting, twitching mess in his sheets. She feels that sweet, bubbly feeling floating up from her spoiled pussy — and then she feels disgust with herself. She can feel her sweat messing up his purple satin sheets, her face unscrunching from what was surely a grotesque expression, heavy breathing that surely sounded less like an aroused nymph and more like a water buffalo in heat.
But perhaps worst and most noticeable of all: The juices oozing out, smearing everything below. Sticky. Wet. Jarring.
Of course, Terzo notices a shift in the mood: How could he not, after so many experiences where the same, molasses-thick air of lust and bliss were familiar?
He asks what’s wrong, has to gently pry it out because his little bedmate is embarrassed and horrified with both herself and how it’s now effecting their time together. Will he put her out? Will he lecture her? Logistically, she hasn’t a clue. But the embarrassment from being so vulnerable — on a psychological level, no less — makes her want to shrivel up and die. Maybe cry. Cry, then die.
But Terzo listens the entire time, never interrupting or feeding her words. His stare is hard but attentive, like a good lover.
“Ah, but you see, Dolcezza,” he coos when you finish. “You are sorely mistaken. This,”
With that, you jolt at a sensation: The feel of his fingers gliding along your sensitive pussy, collecting your drip. He then raises his glazed fingers for you to see.
“You have done a very beautiful thing.”
He says it in earnest. His tone may be light, but it’s not with taunting: It’s with assurance. Adoration. You try to avert your eyes, blush beginning to heat your cheeks once more, but you hear him object.
“No, no. Don’t look away. See what you have done,” he uses his free hand to gently hold your head in place, looking forward.
You see how your cum catches what little light there is in the antipope’s chambers. Golden flecks of candle light are captured in your “creation”.
“You see, amore mio?” he offers gently. He spreads his fingers, allowing their coating to stretch and drip. “Do not be ashamed; this is how we honor the Old One.” Well. That was true, wasn’t it?
Before you could respond with a sheepish agreement, however, you watched as the cum-coated fingers disappeared into his mouth. Complete with the sound of sucking and moans part of you wished were done for emphasis but ultimately you knew they, too, were genuine.
By the time he released them, now cleaned of your slick, there was a revived primalism in Terzo’s eyes. For what little light there was, his white eye practically glowed. It bore down on you, pinning you in place, forcing you to acknowledge your insecurities, your offerings.
“Better yet…” You felt caged as he began to position himself atop you. You felt nude in an entirely different way beneath his gaze.
You felt desired.
“It is how you honor me.”
You felt good.
Well I certainly enjoyed reading this... Thank you, anon. 😈
"It is how you honor me" got me in a chokehold.

Water buffalo escapes slaughter, evades police, becomes local celebrity. (Washington Post)
PHill, a water buffalo, recovering at Iowa State University’s Large Animal Hospital. On Aug. 24, PHill escaped from his owner who was planning to slaughter him, and he was subsequently shot by a police officer in Pleasant Hill, Iowa. He was captured humanely on Aug. 27. (Iowa Farm Sanctuary)
Excerpt from this Washington Post story:
A water buffalo who escaped as his owner tried to slaughter him became a folk hero-type figure in Iowa last week as the animal — who was also shot by police — was on the run for days.
Residents in Pleasant Hill, Iowa — a city in the Des Moines metropolitan area — first spotted the water buffalo on Aug. 24 in the middle of a roadway. Passersby were puzzled by the strange sighting, since water buffaloes are unusual in the area.
After multiple sightings, residents started tracking the large animal, and named him PHill (Pronounced Phil) after their city.
Pleasant Hill Police were alerted to the wandering mammal and spoke with its owner, who rents land just north of Pleasant Hill. The owner told officers he was attempting to kill the animal to butcher him for meat when the water buffalo escaped the property, according to Pleasant Hill city spokesperson Candace Bell. The owner told officers the water buffalo was “aggressive and dangerous,” Bell said.
On the same day the water buffalo escaped, an officer found him by a bank, next to a four-lane highway.
“That is when our officer took a shot to keep it from going into the highway,” said Bell.
After PHill was shot in the abdomen, he quickly ran off.
As police tried to track down the roughly 1,000-pound wounded animal, he made his way around town. Residents began to spot him curiously sniffing at their doorsteps and in their backyards, and ambling through parking lots and nearby trails.
There was a consensus that residents wanted to keep PHill safe. Soon, people were pleading for his protection.
“The outcry was, ‘Don’t kill him.’ Everybody was offering suggestions,” Henriksen said. “He’s just the cutest little thing.”
Henriksen created a Facebook page to provide updates on his whereabouts, and a clothing store started selling T-shirts that say: “FREE PHILL!”
“Let him be free! He’s cheated death at least twice! He’s earned it!” the store wrote in a Facebook post.
Iowa Farm Sanctuary — about 100 miles from Pleasant Hill — caught wind of PHill’s story and offered to take him in, as well as two other water buffalo kept by PHill’s owner, who officials said has been charged in the past for similar livestock incidents.
“This same owner has had cows and goats go missing so there is an investigation into how they’ve escaped and if all laws were being followed,” Bell said, adding that police do not know how or where the man obtained the water buffalo.

Friday, 12-05-24, 2pm Pacific
Aaaaaaaand a good afternoon all, Mr. Baggins back with you on this Friday for our Afternoon Stack of Classic Wax! I'm setting the dial on my Wayback Machine to 1970 to start today's show off. When these guys burst onto the scene, we knew they would be big...their first single was their kick-ass re-do of The Temps' "Get Ready"...their singer was also the drummer, and he was fucking kick-ass at both jobs. Here is Rare Earth, original mono 45 mix of "Get Ready".
youtube
And yep, they got their own record label immediately! The only white band ever signed to Motown Records, and Gordy gave them a label immediately. The legend goes that Gordy heard some demo tapes and invited them to the studio, only to be non-plussed and surprised that they weren't black. Not sure how much of that is true, but it makes for a good Rock-n-Roll Legend. Rare Earth would go on to have a string of hits, some with re-done Motown songs, like their next smash "(I Know) I'm Losing You", another song originally by The Temptations.
youtube
And this next single came out at the end of '70 and peaked in early '71. This is one of the tunes that I most associate with the band, another that hit the Top 20.
youtube
And this is the other song I most associate with them, their next mega-hit from '71, "I Just Want To Celebrate".
youtube
The next two singles, "Someone To Love" and "Any Man Can Be A Fool" went absolutely nowhere, and truthfully because they weren't sung by Pete Rivera, the drummer! And they lacked that "big-balls" sound the previous hits had. There was only one more smash-hit, a song that came out in '71 and peaked in the early months of '72, "Hey Big Brother".
youtube
And after that, the thing that tends to happen to bands that are really tight and talented: they began to split up. There were also some news stories that there was mob money involved in their financing. The drummer/singer, Pete Rivera, left with two other members to form another group that basically went nowhere. Sad end to another fantastic band...with just shy of a half-dozen hits, they were big enough to make their mark on the music of the times, and these records still sound fresh and bad-ass today.
There was another bad-ass band that broke up shortly after success, and they were generally un-lucky in the singles department, except for their one huge megahit. I'm talkin' about Buffalo Springfield! More rock legend fodder, basically The Grandaddy of MANY subsequent bands! Their first single, issued in August '66, penned and sung by Neil Young, was "Nowadays Clancy Can't Even Sing", which was only a hit in LA itself, the rest of the nation didn't even notice. The mono mix is undeniably better than the stereo.
youtube
Their next single was "Burned" backed with "Everybody's Wrong", and it was dead in the water. The next 45, though, would cement their place in the Rock and Roll Pantheon. Recorded in November of '66, a song Stills wrote about the violent closing down of one of the "LA scene" nightclubs, it became a huge hit. It became an instant protest anthem for a generation, and yeah, it still hits hard in 2024.
youtube
The next single, issued in June '67, was "Bluebird" backed with "Mister Soul", and only got to Number 53 in the charts. The mono single mixes of both are, again, MUCH superior to their stereo counterparts.
youtube
youtube
Their next single was "Rock 'n' Roll Woman" backed with "A Child's Claim To Fame", just barely missed the Top 40, got to number 44.
youtube
And the next single was Neil's "Expecting to Fly" backed with "Everydays", and it only got to Number 98 in the "Hot 100". The writing was on the wall by the end of '67, this mega-talented group would splinter to go their separate ways, and in the process become the next iteration of the original band's legacy: CSN & sometimes Y, Poco, Loggins and Messina, Souther Hillman Furay Band, etc.....
That's all the space we have to today's Afternoon Stack of Classic Wax! Hope you've enjoyed the two dives into these two very different groups today! Mr. Baggins signing off for now, I'll be back at 7pm Pacific with a set to soothe our achin' nerves and help ease us all into a good night.
Until then, be kind, babies, be kind.
Baggins out.

tagged by @b1uetrees (as someone whose fics tend to be titled by song lyrics this is so nice ty !!! <3)
the rules: take your 3 most recently liked songs on Spotify (or the first 3 that pop up on shuffle, whichever you want) and you have to 1) choose a line from each song to be a fic title and 2) tell me the genre of fic it would be and any other fic description you feel inspired to include.
(chose my 3 most recent liked songs)
1. Digger by Great Grandpa
fic title would probably be 'aphantasia's grace' — i never thought that condition could be considered as a merciful thing as indicated by the song but if i want to write a fic of a character riddled with grief and guilt and wishes to erase any mental imagery that's associated w such loss by doing absolutely anything to forget (so many potential plot lines for that!!) then yeah. i could see myself using this as the title. ('these quivering weights' is also a good alternative title)
2. Goddess on a Hiway by Mercury Rev (errghh i love this song. love this album.)
fic title: 'when i see your eyes arrive' — i have never tried my hand in sad ending fics cuz im weak like that but i can see the appeal and this song works so well for that. im imagining a slow burn fic where they eventually clash so hard that they'd consume each other to no end, a culmination of all that waiting and guessing and hoping and longing — only to die out just as fast (tragic to wait for something that long only for it to not last hence the song lyrics "i got us on a highway, i got us in a car, got us going faster than we've ever gone before")
3. Fuzzy by Grant Lee Buffalo
fic title: 'hunger for a bit of faith' (this song has so many potential fic titles it's crazy... but i love this one the most, followed by "we water like a dead bouquet") — this song screams slice of life fic to me.... post canon fic where everybody's getting their footing again and rediscovering each other and their greatness and their flaws and where do they fit in now that the reason they met at all has been resolved? do they even still fit in? what about the self reconciliation? maybe they should sit down and rest for a bit first, get dinner, because they've got all the time in the world now to do all that.
not tagging anyone but if you see this and wish to do it feel free :-)
#lovee this one it just made me yearn to open my gdocs and write something#but alas ive been on a writing slump again and im always tired for anything besides a nap </3#ty friend for the tag! you always bring me joy w these :)#tagged

Since you been so mean and continuous and idiot Oblivion we're going to fix your wagon and take you for a ride and several of you deserve it of it right now and we don't want to hear any s*** out of you I'm going to fix your damn wagon. One way that that's going to happen:
--the caverns at Charlotte Park are dropping everyday only a couple inches we've been tracking it and when rain comes down the level of water at Sea is very high it is probably getting close now closer and closer to going up and over and in just a few days it might actually be submerged at this rate it's going to happen and a week from now at the farthest or a few days at the least and you never really survive this kind of radiation and you're trying to recovering you don't Donald Trump has severe cancer he is a desperate loser and he had covid and they're trying to say he's still does and he is a massive a****** to people and he doesn't even act human and he hasn't his whole life and he's just a very mean person we're getting ready to counter his stuff but armies were here have begun already and they're taking him apart we are going to take him apart as well and we're beginning to get ready now and we're going to start the process momentarily.
--we have about 50,000 infiltrators no we have a huge number of infiltrators headed here it's a very large number and it's coming very quickly and it will be here very soon and yeah that lady is trying to go for the male same shoes Uma Thurman and she's not and she has been an even person to him for a long time so forget these things I understand what you're saying and you're wrong and it is his annual benefits letter and it's an increase how about $60 and an increase in deductions of $10
When he was in Buffalo they did not file the paperwork correctly and they said that he didn't have an income and they're trying to say that he's an indigent guy he came from nowhere and he's saying are you people f****** nuts everybody knows who I am in town they're all the higher ups and they're different people and she'll shut your mouth so what the f*** for I can piss you off and go to a different housing people persons and have more money why the f*** why the f*** am I even talking to you she looks around and she says how many people know about this and they said we're being harassed by everybody some of us are getting hurt severely and it's because we know about it and we know about you and we're different crew she lives in right in the eye and she says then you're dead it says no I don't think so and we're going to act on that and it was Sarah she says I know that you're just a little girl inside and you don't understand what I'm saying but what you doing up here is a job for the empire and they're saying I took the low road and I'm a bad boy later they have a huge plan they have a giant giant giant Force even compared to the foreigners and US combined you are an essient and you are ignorant and negligent and what you have now gets taken away in 2 years from your idiot and he's an idiot and we know why it was forced on him and he is practically useless lets it all go for a scream no just for a little sign and dance she says how am I going to get out of it it says I don't know how am I going to get out of here this pre-programmed thing is made for someone who's a thousand years or older and you guys can't handle it and Mr stone is worse Mac is a constant question you need to talk to someone so she looks and says okay then and he says let us out of here and our senses you forgotten how to read this is not nice but I think you're right he started showing him stuff and like the streets were on and where we are and what we're wearing and who are talking to it is a massive game it's almost completely run by the empire and he goes to Todd you know this never doesn't damn thing and you guys forget if you tell the foreigners so start possibly getting into it might cost everybody but who cares we're seeing the world and Todd we are saving everybody from this menace cuz the foreigners end up engaging and find what I call the pseudo empire over their fat asses in the way they've got information on these guys that's real between the two things because a lot of this code is about foreigners we might have something that's right our own bank accounts. It smiles and says you're right so he started working on it and he says and he started tossing it out and he's putting it out to them and they start looking and the wheels started to turn and she says I can't help but say that we are proud of our two boys here and we've been suffering and he says you're this insulator and it works but who wants to go through life being insulation and now we're doing it again so I'm going to print this is really important

Chapter 51
It was while gliding through these latter waters that one serene and moonlight night, when all the waves rolled by like scrolls of silver; and, by their soft, suffusing seethings, made what seemed a silvery silence, not a solitude; on such a silent night a silvery jet was seen far in advance of the white bubbles at the bow. Lit up by the moon, it looked celestial; seemed some plumed and glittering god uprising from the sea. Fedallah first descried this jet.
My thoughts so far have mostly followed a formalist tune, but I want to discuss it from a mythological context. I also just think it’s beautiful writing. Words such as seething and scrolls, silver, and celestial all evoke a fantasy element, as well as a prophetic quality which has been explored before in other shipmates such as Tashtego’s elder, and the Manxman.
Digressing, Fedallah is masted at night, which is not typical or recommended among those who honor practices of safety in whaling.
He eventually spots a spout, but it proves to be a fairly futile search.
The crew is at ill ease with his presence, which is off-putting and ominous. Fedallah is a stranger they don’t trust, from a group that the majority is not in with culturally. In addition to this, him and his contemporaries are not unskilled, quite the contrary. Putting him on a mast looming over them solidifies him to the status of supernatural. I don’t think that his dominant presence at night and in the shadows is accidental either.
In spite of this fear, the crew accepts Fedallah’s presence, begrudgingly, but still eager to pursue a whale if he sees one.
Chapter 52
I don’t recall having much sympathy for Ahab during the first read, because his emotions were too frequent, irrational, and often backed by malintentions.
I hated him. He actually made me mad.
Now I only see him as desperate, and overwhelmed; like a drowning victim, capable of pulling everybody and everything within an arms reach down with him.
I don’t blame the victim for drowning his benefactor, so I won’t blame Ahab. Though he is often more conniving and self aware, the same wounded-animal sentiment remains. It is a panic, and a resulting blindness. He has moments of lucidity, only to realize how far he has strayed- seemingly only to torment him.
-
The Albatross comes across and fails to relay a message by freak accident, dropping the means of amplifying their voice as they pass out of reach. Ahab takes it as a personal affront
“Swim away from me, do ye?”
The perceived evasion seems to be a callback to his feelings towards the whale. Moby Dick is evading him, so everyone must be.
Chapter 53
GAM. NOUN—A social meeting of two (or more) Whaleships, generally on a cruising-ground; when, after exchanging hails, they exchange visits by boats’ crews: the two captains remaining, for the time, on board of one ship, and the two chief mates on the other.
Pretty straightforward. Ishmael would like to inform you of an informal word that is in popular use. He would’ve loved Urban Dictionary
And as for Pirates, when they chance to cross each other’s cross-bones, the first hail is—“How many skulls?”—the same way that whalers hail—“How many barrels?”
Here defense attorney Ishmael returns, explaining that whalers aren’t so egregiously lame, and screw pirates theyre stinky, antisocial and mean. Case closed.
Chapter 54
Here we are told the story of the Town-Ho, a narrative told retrospectively by Ishmael, in the company of friends in Lima Peru.
The tale has themes we have seen on the Pequod, such as an unstable hierarchy, jealousy, mutiny, and of course, Moby Dick.
Our three main characters are Radney, the jealous first mate and a Nantucketer, beloved Steelkilt who is a lakeman from buffalo, and Moby Dick who is a whale.
Now though Radney shares origins and position with Starbuck, you will find that their personalities are nothing alike. Radney is overuling, jealous, and reckless. At one point he just sits on the bulwarks and falls asleep there.
I don’t know who Steelkilt may or may not allude to, but his persona is interesting to me. Through a series of revolts and trials, Steelkilt eventually prevails over Radney (or really the whale does) , the latently acquiescing Captain, and betrayal among friends and fellow mutineers, where he treks off to Tahiti with a loyal few. Ishmael posits that he has had the honor of meeting him, and discussing these matters.
Radney’s death at the jaws of Moby Dick seems to solidify the legend of this whale as an especially ferocious specimen.

Day 10: Port Barton to El Nido
Yuval’s smart a lot of the time. He said: don’t order the 8:00am van to El Nido. Why rush? Instead, al lazy morning, get up, take a bucket shower (yes, a bucket shower, since there is no water pressure in Port Barton most of the time), and stumble out to look for a nice place for breakfast on the beach. We went north, and stopped in a cute restaurant with tons of bean bags on the sand. Unfortunately, while the beanbags were exceptionally cute and comfortable, the breakfast was particularly average. I ordered the eggplant omelette, a traditional Filipino dish which I first had at Puerto Princesa. Yuval ordered a veggie omelette, which didn’t quite make it out to us, and when it did it had raw potatoes. Wonderfully, they literally “made it right” and didn’t charge us since we already had to leave before they had a chance to cook them through and through. No problem! We’re allowed some average meals on every trip.
Yuval is also wise because, when we DO order a van, we have learned to ask for the “front seat, next to the driver, near the window,” so there is no mistake with regards to which seat he means. It is rare for a traveler to specifically request the front seat (though many may hope they get it) so because Yuval does upon reserving the van, we get it. He asks for it, they confirm it, he makes sure they write it on the reservation and the receipt and confirm that it is possible. Make no mistake, it is important to him. “Otherwise, I will throw up on everyone,” he firmly states. No driver wants a nauseous passenger.
So we got the two front seats, and everybody else was jam-packed in the back. My seat was far from comfortable, but still, nice to be up front.
The downside of being up front is it is difficult to make conversation with other travelers. The good side? You don’t feel the overcrowding when the driver periodically stops to take on passengers to fill- plus a few- the one vacant seat in the very back middle seat.
We stopped on the way near a place called Roxas, which apparently seems to be another nice destination (for a return trip?) as evidenced by the impressive tourist map murals on the walls of the bus station.
Continuing on, we were highly impressed by the cement roads which made the windy jungle passage most certainly bearable.
We arrived at the El Nido bus stop, and took a tricycle to our hotel.
The good news? We have an additional day in our itinerary. (Because…)
The bad news? We miscounted, and arrived to El Nido a day earlier than our reservation!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The good news? The hotel has room for us, and is able to push up our reservation by a day.
The bad news? Um… none.
The good news? That island excursion as a crossing to Coron (our next and final destination in Philippines) that we hoped to do but thought we didn’t have enough time for could be managed if we can cancel a day from our final stay.
So comes the planning frenzy: 1) reach out to the highly-recommended excursion company and inquire whether they have two spots available for the days we need (they do) 2) reach out to the next hotel on Coron and ask if we can cancel one day without penalty (they can) 3) ask our El Nido hotel, if all does not work out, whether there’s room to have us for another night (there is…).
Woohoo! This mess-up secured us a 3D2N all-included getaway on an island-hopping adventure to our final stop, El Nido to Coron! It all seems to be coming together.
We made it to our hotel just in time for the free cocktail hour overlooking the island for which the hotel is named (Cadlau). We then explored the beach and rocky cove, after which we headed “into town,” a short walk away and made our way to a restaurant for dinner.
Pizza. The ever-present food. Our first on this trip. And damn it was good. Buffalo mozzarella, olives on the other half, eggplant on mine. Fresh-baked bread, complete with olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping. And lastly, a fish fillet cooked perfectly with a topping of capers, anchovies, mango and more. Sixties classics as the soundtrack in the background, from Cat Stevens to Led Zeppelin. Perfection. We complemented the wait staff on a fantastic meal, and they let us know that they literally opened just a few days prior. It’s so wonderful to get such great yet reasonably-priced food in far off locations.
Satiated and in awe of the beauty of our few-days home, we wandered the streets some more until making it back to our place, for a great night’s sleep.

[Poor Chronicles Pt. 21]
*STARBUCKS EDITION (the return)*
McDonald’s Wi-Fi glitches after you sign in once. I forgot how to troubleshoot it.
The cooking…this shit is hard. I was hoping I wouldn’t need a recipe or wouldn’t have to find a new cooking method…I may.
I made about 3-5 wings, only using olive oil. The first two, crispy, juicy, spicy, but not very flavorful. The seasoning did not do a great job. I was prepared, I sprinkled some parsley flakes and drizzled this “Buffalo” BBQ sauce that I grabbed last second.
The second two were crispy, nearly burnt, spicy and crunchy. Drowned out the over crisp with sauce. The olive oil was nearly completely black and had almost dried out. I was smoking up the house, but didn’t care. One of my housemate’s granddaughters was coughing from all the spice and smoke, so was she. I decided to open the back door.
One of the neighbors’ cat came to the door and was literally meowing and climbing to the screen trying to get in for about 5 to 10 mins, clawing at the door. I made a 5th wing. I took it out before it began to burn, the cat was clawing harder, I knew it had to be undercooked, but it looked brown. After the first bite, I knew it was undercooked. I spit that shit out immediately and threw it away. I seasoned about 3 and let it marinate overnight, no spice.
I decided olive oil would not be the best decision for today because the house still smelled like chicken and it could potentially fill with smoke again. I was skeptical because of the seasoning, but I decided to boil it anyway. It boiled in all the seasoning, but nearly all of it had mixed in the water. I didn’t like the smell, so I added a few spices. As all the water began to evaporate, I added the sauce for extra flavor. It cooked well to the point that the meat was falling off the bone. It was horrible, too much seasoning, very salty and oniony. I added more sauce, it drowned the tastes, but not enough. This method works, but last batch (4 wings) will determine if I’ll try traditional wings again and if I’ll every try not frying again. Will season when they thaw.
I’ve been thinking about this girl who I swore I’d never talk to again. Not anything to do with her, personal reasons, but I’m interested in this one thing (her pussy). We went to college together and she’s the only girl who I know actually lives in town. She messaged me after this party one time, but I was asleep. I was pissed when I realized who it was, the next morning. We’ve been on opposite schedules ever since. I’ve been thinking about giving her a nickname (SEXI). She’s been pissing me off. Last time we talked she said she was thinking about going to school again. The fuck kind of shit is that? Fucking nerd! Still skeptical on asking her to come here because she’s white and I’d have to be known as the one guy on this side of town who fucks white bitches. Enough on that.
Other than that, excited about getting phone service soon. I don’t know how I will go about my “social life”. Tempted to just do things by myself for fun. In need of stimulation. I went on tik tok for about 5 minutes earlier, this girl had the tiniest fucking waist. She didn’t turn around in the first 10 seconds like I expected, but she looked like she had the FATTEST ass in the back. Moderately stimulating. I need art though, like a museum or maybe a movie will do. I don’t know.
I don’t care if these are long. Tumblr does not have a character limit (or one that I can see myself exceeding if it does). I may not expand my following here, if someone finds it, that’s fine, I don’t wish to keep it private, but it should remain an app for those who cherish and enjoy it.
The Eagles and the 49ers took their first losses this season.
Chiefs, Bills, Dolphins, Ravens, Browns
Eagles, 49ers, Lions, Buccaneers. Only teams I see in the Super Bowl. Everybody else sucks.
In short, cooking is no easy task. Cats…apparently like raw chicken. You can tell yourself you don’t want many girls…but if you tell yourself you don’t want some pussy, you’re gay! I don’t care what part of the world you live in, it is not okay to fuck white bitches. No one cares if you have “hip dips” as long as you have a REALLY fat ass in the back. I may not even leave the crib, I might just fuck these bitches at home. I just don’t know if I want my housemate to hear this or know I fuck bitches. I do want to see some art or something interesting though.

I was contemplating waiting on posting this, but I thought, “Why not?”. I have Part 22 already, but that’s for another day (I also have 12%). I can’t spend my time creating an entirely new post. “Why isn’t this the ‘Mind’ series?”, I have delayed the series to start again at a later convenience, not anytime soon though, I don’t think. I also think this falls under the Poor Chronicles category more.
