The absurdity and stupidity of all shitflix cancelations lies in one simple question: How many of those canceled shows have you actually heard of before they got canceled?

- Warrior Nun - never heard of it until the moment I started seeing its fans spamming every shitflix post. And that was its second season. It had two seasons, for fucks sake, and most of us have never heard of it. You wanna know whose fault that is? Let me give you a hint. No, it's not the viewing numbers.

- First Kill (or whatever its name is) - Never heard of it until, once again, I saw people complaining about the cancelation under shitflix posts. Once again, guess whose fault that is.

- Santa Clarita Diet - Never heard of it. Didn't even know it was canceled until it made it to the list of pissed of people counting how many of them they axed. Whose fault is that?

- Inside Job - Yeah, never heard of it until it got canceled. Also, canceled after they renewed it. Shitflix: guess we changed our minds.

- Archive 81 - Heard of it when the cancelation was announced.

- The OA - Remember just hearing about it through the fog, even though it came out years ago.

- Sense 8 - know about it only thanks to fans' videos and fanart. I don't remember shitflix ever mentioning it.

- Lockwood & Co - I know about it thanks to fans spamming posts asking for renewal news.

And the list goes on with, I assume, shows I have never heard of.

I've never seen any of these shows, but my open wound is 1899 that I believe got treated the dirtiest of them all.

I have heard of it two years before the premiere, thanks to a 50 seconds long teaser that got me patiently waiting for years because it was my cup of tea. It came from the people who proved themselves before by creating a critically acclaimed show that you can find on a top 10 list of greatest shows of all time. Those people have spent years developing a new filming technique for shitflix. What a way to say thank you.

8 out of 10 people around me have seen 1899. Those people haven't even seen GoT or LotR for fucks sake, the most famous show and movie ever, but they have seen 1899. But not because shitflix promoted it, but because people did.

There was zero promotion, zero cast interviews, zero mentions after the release. It was still watched and talked about by so many people. It has more viewing hours than their hit shows running for 3+ seasons put together. It's a show you can't just binge and forget, you have to actually turn your fucking brain on. It was released in the most busy time of the year, during the damn World Cup and winter holidays. It was still number one for weeks. It was given less than 30 days. They decided to cancel it before it even premiered. They deleted the trailer with 10+ million views from YT.

The same goes with other shows. I have seen zero cast interviews, zero promotion or mentions by their own platform and they still have loyal fan bases that didn't stop talking about them.

But then you have dogshit shows like the Night agent that is getting hyped by shtflix every single fucking day. Fake numbers, pumped up to get people to watch a generic, a hundred times seen before, piece of crap. It got more hype than fucking GoT, and yet I know zero people who have actually watched it. Yep, there is no one I know, in real life or online, that has actually watched this show. So you figure it out.

People who have watched the shows I've mentioned probably have the statistics for them, and have probably seen the viewing hours being blamed for it, which was bullshit.

The latest nail in the coffin was Lockwood & Co. They kept fans waiting for months, and then they announced the cancelation during Eurovision so that fans wouldn't be able to go viral about it because everyone talked about fucking Eurovision.

Shitflix has canceled 26 sci-fi/fantasy shows in the last 3 years. 26! Do you all remember when we couldn't even name 26 shows of all genres put together, let alone watch them?

What all these shows had in common is that they were original and more or less unique and creative, not something you can find at least 6 copies of in either streaming or network TV.

It's like they created all these shows just so they can cancel them, because they are doing their best to actually burn every trace they ever existed.

Shitflix is killing creativity in every form, but in the end, that will be their undoing.

3 Ships: James/Sirius since forever. It's the absolute devotion these two have for each other that gets to me, whether they’re written in a fun way or they have some darker traits. They are two brilliant minds put together who create chaos at school and later fight against death eaters wearing matching phoenix t shirts. Lol. They are such idiots in love. You can put them in any situation or AU and they always find back to each other. My favourite friends to lovers ship ever.

Obi-Wan/Anakin. I’m basing this on how Ewan and Hayden acted together in the films. They have real chemistry (and Obi-Wan Kenobi series made me lose my mind all over again). There’s just so much obsessive love between the characters which is like yesss give me more. Also, you can play with the characters in AUs all you like, make them good, bad, something in between. Not to mention this ship has so much beautiful fanart on tumblr.

Charles Xavier/Erik Lehnsherr. I was obsessed with this ship after X-Men First Class. (Which is still the best one of them all.) The reason this ship works for me is thanks to James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender. They only need to stare at each other and the sexual tension automatically intensifies. Charles and Erik ultimately want the same thing but go about it in very different ways. Beach divorce, dropping a stadium on your ex, lots of weird shit happening in the rest of the movies (which weren’t that great), and yet they end up playing chess in a Parisian cafe. They're the dramatic ex husbands who still love each other and I’m here for it.

First ever ship: I shipped people randomly in 90s tv shows but can’t remember the first one. Buffy/Angel, maybe? In HP books it was James/Lily. Now I can’t wrap my head around Lily’s character because I haven’t really written about her. I don’t see romantic love between her and James anymore, but they’d work as friends for sure.

I don't wanna be just like another one of those internet folks that "gives permission" to someone to like something. Of course I cannot characterize someone for liking or disliking something. I am pointing out my opinion about it and I of course strongly support it but apart from that of course others can have other opinion and support it as well and of course you can like something

Yes that is basically the same feeling when I see musicals like this that distort faith in general. Existing or other.

It is very good that you debate with yourself on it. I would say as long as you keep in mind that it is purely an imaginary thing created by a modern day person with completely different set of values and ideas and culture than the original and you just hear it for the vibes or something of course there is nothing wrong with it per se. I should say it would be the same as listening to music that insinuates religion (one idea that comes in mind is Finland back in the day winning eurovision with Hard Rock Hallelujah or something or watching series or movies like John Constantine or Lucifer) like as long as someone keeps in mind that these are not some sort of...theological manifesto then it's perfectly fine.

I mean still gonna annoy the hell out of a lot of people as a mentality but that is part of the game as well. Not everyone is liking the same things or tolerate same things and is part of human experience

Well I do not count myself a believer in a particular religion and I would argue that even believers have different opinions. I count myself as someone who sees all religion of equal value that have something to say to people and represent a set of values for the group of believers. So in one way I want to respect equally Christianity Judaism polytheism etc because they mean something to their worshippers. However from what you see I am disappointed at how modern media depict greek gods and mythology because they use it as a stepping stone for stuff and push agendas and that had an impact in Greek culture and Greeks in general. See for example fanarts and such of Greeks and then travel to Greece and you shall see differences. That is because often people get false ideas in regards to certain things because their only contact with the culture for a long time was just these twisted retellings (both good and bad)

Is the equivalent of a catholic for example always pictured as the insufferable or the one that is playing holier than thou etc so when someone thinks "catholic" might either think of a very pious person or a total scoundrel as if there is no in-between.

Similarly greek mythology has been quite abused by modern day media to say the very least and unfortunately people often cannot tell the difference. So it is always good to be aware of the fact that a modern retelling especially these that are for pure entertainment are not mythology and that they might as well be changed and twisted (for good or bad is at the eyes of the beholder). If you do that I find no problem at all.

People who criticize others for disliking the changes of Greek mythology when gods are twisted to look like some sort or final villain boss fight video game I honestly wanna see how the reactions would be if someone created a biblical musical where the Pharaoh of Egypt takes revenge against God of Israelites for killing the first born of Egypt by smiting him with his own sword or justice and claim he does it for his people while God begs for mercy.

I forgot about making a post pretty much immediately, so I was like "why is this person asking me about maurice sendak"

Anyway! They aren't mind blowing, but there's just like a lot of things intersecting?

So I looked up "Mata Hari", because I just felt like seeing stuff about the real woman, right? I don't know why I chose to do this on Tumblr and not just like on Google. But I was just kind of interested in what the Tumblr shape of information about her would be? I know the things, I know the general was she wasn't she, I know appropriating vaguely Malaysian background as just a Dutch lady was not a cool move but setting all of that aside just for the Optics of wow this is a weird thing, that was the tag I was in.

First thing I get is a Kpop star.

And then some kind of generic anime girl.

And some Eurovision.

And then it was just like this slow accumulation of weird intersections. The K-pop Star had recently been given the role of someone called matahari for some musical venture which might be about the original woman or might be about the generic anime girl.

Generic anime girl seems to be from like a fighting game maybe? One person is celebrating that there is at least one person on Tumblr who regularly draws fanart of her and the other is celebrating that she was finally given a new animation and some kind of buff??

Then there were still some a movie from the 1930s which people were going nuts over because they were fans of the 1930s Hollywood aesthetic, but I thought they all looked terrible in comparison to the actual lady in terms of capturing literally anything about her.

Lots of pictures of what people think this woman conjures up verses what she actually looked like.

So I'm looking at gif sets of this 1930s movie and this KPop star and a musical and fanart of the generic anime girl and colorizations of a woman they executed in the forties and screaming about the merits of a pop song from 2021 and it was just a weird intersection of things to see. Streams of information I am oblivious to daily.

What I know about Star Trek as someone who has never consumed a single piece of Star Trek media in their life

Uhhh the main guy is the Captain and his name is either Jim or James Kirk. I don’t know which one it is. Fuck you. 

Captain Kirk normally wears a yellow shirt but I think he’s like really bad at keeping it on apparently? 

And also he is like a huge lady’s man who kisses every woman 

Captain Kirk is played by William Shatner

And the big popular character that everyone loves is Spock. Spock is a Vulcan. 

Vulcans are like space elves who are like, 95% smart and 5% emotions

Spock has feelings but they are like, ...super secret  

And I guess Vulcans have green blood? Idk I’ve seen fanart on my dash where Spock seems to blush green 

Vulcans are also not very into physical affection and I think holding hands to them is like....the same as making out or fucking 

Spock....gay? Gay for Jim/James/whatever his name is? 

Spock was played by Leonard Nimoy 

Spock and Captain Kirk take turns almost dying and being sad for each other 

Levar Burton from Reading Rainbow is there, and he has really cool sunglasses! His name is....I think Geordi? That’s like all I know about the character.

There’s a robot guy named Data and people really like him a lot

Do people ship Geordi and Data? I feel like they might. I don’t know.

George Takei plays a character named Sulu, who I think is also Japanese? Sulu likes guns I think? I really don’t know much about him but I think I saw a post mentioning that once 

There’s also a guy named Scotty who I think is from Scotland. Very original.  He beams people up. I don’t know if they mean like...a tractor beam??? Maybe????

And there’s a Russian guy named Chekov 

I’m honestly surprised that these countries still exist this far into the future ngl. Like...you’re telling me that in the far future that Geography hardly changed? 

There’s another character named Uhura and she and Captain Kirk had like, the very first scripted interracial kiss on television and it was like, a really really big deal in TV history 

Star Trek in general I heard was very progressive for the time period? But ironically a lot of conservative dudes are into it. I think Star Trek and Star Wars are both similar in that a lot of men in their fandoms seem to have completely missed the point 

Uhhh there’s another captain! His name is Picard I think, and he’s played by Sir Patrick Stewart, who is also the poop emoji from the emoji movie. Hs character is also a meme  

There is a guy named Bones who I know absolutely nothing about 

Oh and ummm...I think the color shirts that the characters wear signify their roles on the ship. I don’t know what the colors designate but I’m pretty sure that people in red shirts die the most often 

There’s a species of aliens in the show called Klingons who kind of collectively look like Lordi from Eurovision 

The show made like, its own actual constructed language for Klingons to speak. It’s like a real language that people can actually learn and honestly....that’s pretty cool? That’s an impressive level of commitment to the lore 

Um, getting into the show’s actual plot, it takes place far far into the future, like at least a thousand years ahead? And in the future like, war doesn’t exist anymore and neither does like....disease or bigotry and all the bad things 

Honestly though I’m not really sure what the conflicts the characters solve are in that case? I have no idea why they are in space or why they are on the ship, or how all the people with the red shirts end up dying 

Ummm there are like, these little puffball things called tribbles and there are just too many of them. They flooded the entire ship. No idea what they are. Are they like, some kind of space animal? Do they multiply? Did they fuck a lot? 

There was a mariachi band on their ship once. That was just a thing that happened. 

Uhhh they do this thing with their hands. You know the thing. I tried to do it once and it’s hard and it just made my fingers hurt. 

Their catchphrase is “live long and prosper”. Not sure of the significance

I know people are just going to tell me to watch the show because it’s good or whatever....but I’m gonna be honest with you and just say that it’s so long and I don’t have the level of commitment or motivation, or the time to do that.

*peaks in* Hey, do you think your character named Dewi and the dashing warlock will ever play a game called Among Us?

ACTUALLY we were thinking about it!! There were some conversations about the characters in the discord server , and what kind of Among Us players they’d be! I even made a doodle for that. Most of the characters appeared on the blog:

- John would be terrible at the game and everyone would take advantage of that. He’d get either sused and voted off first, no matter if he’s an imposter or a crewmate, or he’d be killed first in Electrical

- Dewi would be a good crewmate, doing his tasks fast! But he’d feel too bad playing against his friends (or even friendly strangers) as an imposter, and he’d probably reveal himself straight away

I'm dying laughing at all of this: Jere saying "I'm fairy, Bojan vampire" onstage and everybody making memes and fanart of it and Bojan is panicking slightly while Jere and also the band find it kind of hilarious. Them watching Twilight is also even funnier. Whose idea do you think it was? Was Jere like "hey let's watch movie about you" and then puts on Twilight. Did Bojan suggest it as a joke. And also actually what were the sleeping arrangements like when Bojan visited. Does Jere have a guest room. Was Bojan worried about losing control when his band isn't around and Jere is there and he's in an unfamiliar place

Kris has 100% made a rotating schedule of when Bojan feeds and on whom, adjusted for things like one of them getting sick or traveling. They have to be especially meticulous about this at Eurovision, because there's so many cameras on them at all times and they can't have Bojan getting hungry and his eyes getting red and his teeth getting strangely pointy while he's doing an interview. This is also why he only visited Jere for 3 days, they didn't want him to be away for too long without a blood supply and Jere's not quite ready for That

Also I bet Plastika hits different now because his hair will never go grey but at what cost.
