If anyone ever tries to deny that Jack Carter has ADHD, I want them to watch the scene from 3x08 "From Fear to Eternity" when he's going down in the mysterious bunker to confront the eternal lady and he sees the dangerous canister of Instantanium (instant industrial cement) and has to stop himself from touching it after an accidental incident earlier by saying to himself, "Don't touch the pretty metal canister."

Like...that is 100% something I would have said in that situation. Then again, I probably would've actually touched it so he's got much better self control than I do.

The rain pattered against the Bakugo-Kirishima household, echoing as the droplets bounced of the roof in an off beat rhythm. Spring has truly sprung, the rainy season coming in full force over the course of the week.

“Goddammit!”

Bakugo’s frustration traveled from his office and through out the house, accompanied by the sound of his chair forcefully retreating from his desk. He despised the rain, the miserable storm only adding an unnecessary layer of irritation to his long work day. He trudged out of his office, shoulders slumped as he makes his way into the kitchen.

Kirishima and yourself are sitting on the living room couch, snuggled under a blanket and watching a romcom on tv for your weekly movie night. Bakugo was supposed to join you two, but he’s been shackled to his laptop all day long. He’d step away for a minute, thinking he could take a break, and then shuffle right back to his desk to pace like a caged animal.

“I’m gonna check on him,” you whisper to Kirishima, giving him a quick peck on the cheek as you peel the blanket from your lap.

Sauntering into the kitchen, you see Bakugo making himself tea, silently staring at the countertop and tapping his fingers against the laminate. His gaze shifts sluggishly from the tea kettle to you when you approach his side.

“Hey sweetheart,” he sighs, turning to pull you into his chest. “Sorry for workin’ late. I know you and Ei have been waitin’ for me.”

“It’s okay, Kats, we know you're working hard. Here,” You break away from his embrace and take his mug from the counter, using your hip to playfully bump him out of your way. “Let me finish this and make you something to eat.”

"S'fine, baby, I can—"

"Katsuki," you interrupt sternly, followed by a sweet smile to soften the bite in your tone. "I made dinner for all of us earlier, I'll get you a plate with your tea and bring it to you."

Bakugo grumbles under his breath, not having it in him to fight your stubbornness. He leans down and meets your lips for a brief kiss before moving to the living room, hovering behind the couch for a moment.

"Hey babe," Kirishima says, flashing his toothy grin backwards toward him. "Try and call it a night soon, yeah?"

Bakugo bends over the couch, cradling Kirishima’s jaw in his hands and presses a gentle kiss to his forehead. “M’tryin’. This deadline is killing me.”

“Mom hounding ya again?”

Hearing Kirishima call Mitsuki “mom” made your heart flutter from the kitchen, such a simple sentiment making you melt. Watching your boyfriend’s love for one another naturally flow will never get old, even though they’ve been married for years, it still was new to you to witness casually.

Bakugo rolls his eyes. “She’s been bitchin’ at me all week.”

“She loves ya and knows she can push your buttons to get you to succeed,” Kirishima assures, kissing the tip of Bakugo’s nose. “Anythin’ we can do to help?”

He releases Kirishima’s face from his grasp and steps back from the couch, shaking his head with a frown on his face. “Unless you suddenly have a knack for fabric and textiles, don’t think so.”

You round the corner of the island in the kitchen, a plate in one hand and cup of hot tea in the other, making your way to Bakugo’s office. Kirishima sighs contently as he watches your silhouette disappear down the hallway.

“That woman is a damn goddess,” he swoons, deflating back into the couch cushions. “Go eat and wrap up. We can start another movie when you're done.”

Bakugo nods his head and turns to head back to the office. He peers in the doorway to find you mesmerized by the designs scattered across his desk - multiple sketches of clothes, scribbled notes about fabric choices and design suggestions on every page. You glance toward the door, catching him staring.

"These all look great, love. What's got you stumped?" you ponder aloud while organizing the papers back into their proper piles.

Bakugo crosses his arms, leaning against the doorframe. "It's too bland, shit's been done a thousand times. Need somethin' that'll be versatile."

"Maybe you're thinking too much into it."

He blankly stares at you for a moment - you can see the wheels turning in his head while he processes your statement.

"...Do y'know who you're talking to?"

You can't help but laugh, walking around his desk and to the doorway. "I do, hotshot. You're an incredible designer, but not everything needs to be fashion week quality. Most people would just walk around in a t-shirt if they had the option."

Something in his mind clicks the moment you mention 't-shirt,' immediately sending him bolting upstairs and to the bedroom without another word. Bakugo comes barreling back down the stairs with a few t-shirts in hand moments later, tossing all but one onto the back of his office chair.

"Strip," he demands, hands on his hips impatiently.

You quirk your eyebrow at him, but discard your sleep shirt and sweatpants as ordered. Once you do, he shoves the shirt he grabbed over your head, threading your arms through the sleeves and taking a step back to analyze it in full.

"...this is one of your shirts? What does that—"

"Gimmie a sec to think."

The t-shirt is worn out, heavily loved over the years with a faded band logo over the chest and spotted with bleach stains. It was slightly too big for you, cascading over your figure and ending around your mid-thigh area.

Bakugo clicks his tongue while pushing up his glasses back into place. "Turn around."

You obey, turning your back to him. He cinches the back of the shirt with one hand and pulls at the hem by your thigh with the other, as if he's fitting you into his imaginary garment.

"Think ya just solved my problem, sweets," Bakugo says with excitement, letting the t-shirt fall back into its natural state before scooting past you and sliding into his office chair. He turns to the screen, opening a new e-mail and begins furiously typing, paragraphs flowing from his fingers in the matter of minutes.

"Don't forget your dinner and tea," you remind him, turning on your heel to head back to the living room. "I'll leave you be."

"Don't let Ei finish the popcorn without me."

Returning to the couch, you plop down next to Kirishima and fold your head into his lap. He looks at the shirt your wearing, noticing it's definitely not the one you were in 15 minutes ago. And that you're not wearing pants.

"Ah, so he needed that kinda motivation," he snickers, ruffling a hand through your hair.

You chuckle and wiggle in his lap. "No babe, not this time. He should be done soon."

Half an hour later, Bakugo comes into the living room, sighing dramatically as he falls onto the couch, head landing on Kirishima's thighs.

"Made it with three days to spare," he rasps, putting up a victory fist with exhaustion. "Ma approved it, too. S'goin' to be expedited to production tomorrow."

"Way to go, superstar!" You exclaim, bending down to kiss his forehead. "Knew you could do it."

"Good work, Kats! What did you end up going with?" Kirishima asks, a hand massaging Bakugo's shoulder to help him relax.

"She was right, I was thinkin' too hard about it. You'll see it when it's released next month."

"Aw, you're not even gonna tell us after all that?!"

Bakugo snickers, turning to face the TV. "Nah, you two can wait like everyone else. S'nothin' out of this world, but I'm proud of it."

Later that night, your phone pings a few times with multiple messages while you're getting ready for bed back in your apartment - they're from Mitsuki.

How did she even get your number?

"Hey sweetie, it's Mitsuki. Thanks for being patient with my brat. Even at 30 he's still a pain in the ass sometimes! He's lucky to have one, let alone two, people tolerate him long enough to stick around." "Are you free for lunch sometime? I'd love to get to know you better. Katsuki and Eijiro talk about you a lot."

Mitsuki wants to meet for lunch? You've met her a handful of times, but she doesn't...know about you guys yet.

Right?

You respond with a simple "Sure, I'd love to!" and leave it at that.

You're not sure why, but there's a bundle of nerves knotting in your stomach over the thought of having to impress Katsuki's mother.

THE ATLAS COMPLEX SPOILERS

ik it’s hinted that he’s alive when james wessex sees platinum blond but i still get irrationally angry every time i think about callum nova’s potential death. he wanted to die of high cholesterol not stupidly being shot by tristan’s dad because he stupidly made a deal he wasn’t even going to go through with.

if ur gonna let callum think all those happy eureka! thoughts right before his “death” and then end up killing him, it’s not bittersweet, it doesn’t fulfill his character arc, it’s just lazy writing. olivie blake wanted her readers to be upset, to immortalize her series with “oh what a great series” but this is NOT the poppy war or six of crows. bc those books had enough of the characters’ actions and fast paced plot to keep the reader engaged and it made the deaths kinda worth it. callum’s death wasn’t worth it.

and then she writes a cheap way out, one that blake hopes to keep people talking about her book more, one that gives her an easy way out if she gets accused of burying the gays (which she does THREE times in the series). she adds the platinum blond to the security camera and she hopes her book will live on with a #ambiguous! just like iwwv did.

i just don’t understand if 1) that was her plan all along in which case it was a terrible idea or 2) she got heavily influenced by social media and the fact that the TV show is in the works (which ugh reading the book it’s so obvious she was thinking about the show the whole time)

and also it sucks that she never told us what callum/tristan did in book 1 when tristan said “i see u” and callum let him in??? idk if she even knows what happened herself tbh

How could I rank my top shows? They all mean so much to me and are all from different times in my life and from different genres... I can't compare Gilmore Girls to Moonlight Chicken! So without a rating here we go!

Gilmore Girls

The show I watch to feel cozy and comfy! Most of the times I do a rewatch of my favorite episodes in autumn/winter and just enjoy Stars Hollow and all the quirky characters. And I am a huge fan of Lorelei... not her love life, but she is a strong and independet woman and I love that.

Moonlight Chicken

What can I say? I love EarthMix and GeminiFourth! And the story was more of a family drama and something different than the usual GmmTV stuff. The story of letting go of the past and starting a new future, which is scary with all its obstacles, really captured me and I still think of it from time to time.

Pushing Daisies

I love this bitter-sweet story of the unlucky pie baker and the love of his life never been able to touch each other but love each other nevertheless. The criminal cases were interesting and I enjoyed the colorful scenery, but nothing could top my love for Lee Pace. This man...

Unknown

My new favorite show. I loved it from beginning to end. And I don't want to let go of them. The hurt is still too fresh to talk about them 😭 Their story was so well written and the actors were so good in portraying the characters and their inner monologues and thoughts and I love it so much!

Love for Love's Sake

The one show I will never be able to get over. The feelings I felt after it ended were not normal! I was heartbroken! This series means so much to me and Myungha will be forever one of my favorite characters ever! The story is unique and beautiful and so deep! Damn, that is such a good show!

It's okay to not be okay

This show that broke me on so many levels. The amount of tears I shed! It was really a journey and I loved the characters and their growth.

Queer as Folk

I was obsessed with this show and him, Brian Kinney! The topics they showed were, and still are, so important and relevant. It is not just some gay men fucking, but different stories about the community and their problems, fears, breakthroughs and their every day life. And Debbie will be forever this iconic mother figure for all of them and for us too.

The Untamed

I don't know how many shows broke me, but this one... this one hurt so good! It is such a masterpiece of a series. What is good and what is evil and aren't there multiple ways to get to the same goal? There is so much love in this series and so much pain. At its peak I cried for 15 minutes straight... One of my all time favorites, but I couldn't rewatch it yet. The pain is still too real. I convinced my best friend to watch it and now she is mad at me and can't go on with it, because the same scene broke her too and now she is afraid of more pain to come. I understand her so well!

A Breeze of love

Most of the times there is this one show a year that blows me away and I can't get a grip in life afterwards. This year is somehow different as there are already two shows that had this effect on me, but for 2023 it was this here. It is such a simple story and there was nothing special about their story, but I adored it to the max and I rewatched it multiple times. I can't really tell why I love it so much, I just do.

Eureka

This is one of the shows that can easily play in the background when I am doing other things, because I know it by heart. The amount of times I rewatched that is not normal and even though I don't really like the last season that much, the first three are hilarious and just so good!

Friends

And another one I know by heart and could rewatch all the time. This show feels safe and there are so many memories connected here. I watched it after a bad breakup to give me some comfort or when I had a huge fight with my best friend, those friends were there for me. And even now I watch a few episodes when I feel down, because they can lift me up so easily.

Once Again

Aaaand we have another one that broke me! Hurray! Guess I love cozy and comforting shows and those which totally destroy me. Great for me! This one had me sobbing during the whole last two episodes. I have my problems with time travelling, and I don't say it was a good execution here, but I just don't care, because the story is unique and special and I love it.

Be My Favorite

The one that broke me and healed me withing hours. The beginning might be a little bit cringy, but it easily became one of my favorite shows out there. It feels so good to see the character growth and all the love that comes within. I still think about them very fondly.

A Tale Of Thousand Stars

This back hug alone made it one of my favorite shows of all times. But for real, this started my EarthMix-love and I am still not over them. The story is beautiful and the scenery is stunning and the pining is perfect and I have so many emotions about them and this show!

Star Trek - The Next Generation

Since I can remember I am a little trekkie, but only TNG. I love the cast and their adventures. I had a huge crush on Wesley when I was a kid. I watched his episodes so many times, it would be embarrassing, but that was what little Josi's heart wanted... Favorite character is by far Q. All of his episodes are hilarious and brilliant!

It was really difficult to break it down to only 15, because I love TV shows and there are some that I wish I could have put up here, but the rules are the rules.

1. What was the first part of your WIP that you created?

Apophenia was originally a short story called "Dysthanasia" I wrote for an event on Ao3. Now Dysthanasia is the name of the series overall, and the story's a novel-length rough draft in the process of being rewritten.

2. If your story was a TV show, what would the intro song be?

Something short, instrumental, and spooky but with a touch of whimsy. Gotta have that little spark of fun or it'd wind up taking itself too seriously.

3. Who are your favourite character(s) and why?

I'm in love with all of them, but I have to stand by my protagonist, Isaac. He's a squishy human nerd, with no supernatural powers to speak of, but through being resourceful and more than a little lucky manages to survive awful situations. A lot of his characterization has to do with principles and compassion, but not quite in the soft or naive way readers might expect. His enemies repeatedly try to buy or break him, punishing him every time he does what he feels is right, but Isaac remains defiant, refusing to become jaded or take the easy way out. Is he destined to become a martyr? A monster? Stay tuned.

4. What other pieces of media could share a fan base with your WIP?

I'd hope The Vampire Chronicles fans would get into it. Maybe The Witcher fans, as far as characters relying on each other in an unjust world goes? Possibly readers of Octavia Butler, whose work I enjoy. I guess anyone who likes fictional organizations and the paranormal might see the appeal.

5. What has been your biggest struggle while writing your WIP?

Juggling all the backstory and worldbuilding that influences the characters and plot. So much happens before the actual story even starts. The death of Isaac's family. Renato becoming a bloodborn and his eroding loyalty to his sire. A cataclysm that reshaped the map. I'm doing my best to make these come through the text without hitting the reader with a wall of exposition.

6. Are there any animals in your story?

Living and undead! There's Renato's beloved goldfish, Tesoro. The elk, coyote, and bear Motley transforms into. Likewise the species of sharks that some of the good people of Eureka, Nevada can turn into. Or the livestock they raise, mainly sheep, goats, and chickens.

7. How do your characters get around?

Electric cars, horses, trains, or by turning into a much quicker animal.

8. What part of your WIP are you working on right now?

I think I'm almost halfway through the outline for the rewrite? Isaac is getting to know the supernatural locals of America's friendliest town on its loneliest road, and they him.

9. What aspects of your WIP do you think will draw people in?

Renato being a hot vampire, and there being different factions to identify with will probably lure some in. Hopefully they decide to stay for the characters, emotional arcs, and end of the world too.

See, Dresden Files would be fucking GREAT if it didn't suck so badly!

Like this is such a fun and jaunty intersection of stupidass nonsense with the barest hint of a genuinely funny joke that feels so incredibly homey to me, who sort of grew up on shoes like Eureka, Warehouse 13, Firefly, Haven, Being Human, Into the Badlands, and yes, Supernatural.

It's a damn shame that Dresden Files is brought down so low by the noir-style sexism. It could easily be dismissed as a deliberate choice by the author to make Dresden more of a loser, but I'm not really willing to give him that benefit of the doubt, because even when he seems to be deliberately playing with the concept, he flattens women out to "scary and tough cop!" Or "sexy and smart reporter! (who the protagonist has a lot of sex with!)" And seems uninterested in doing any more work on that front.

I almost want to cut Butcher slack on this, because he doesn't actually seem to be interested in doing much work on any characters at all! Harry himself is flat as hell, and a classic example of the awkward conflict between the author's desire to write a relatable everyman and a mysterious badass.

But I can't cut that slack. It's still abysmal. It takes a bit of stamina to read these otherwise-simple books because you just have to make yourself laugh at how fucking bad the writing gets.

And if you don't have that nostalgia for mediocre TV shows that I do, then... well, I can't offer advice any better than "give up".

There being like 40 books in this series leaves some space for optimism that Butcher may pick up on his writing flaws and actually write characters instead of pre-women's-suffrage caricatures that basically consist of planks of wood distinguished by their capacity to apply lipstick. But I probably won't read that far. Likely gonna call it quits after book 2.

An eureka moment, as I was trying to decide this dinner's (unhealthy) menu.

Let us suppose you are part of a production team in a big TV series' project that is ongoing for more than nine years and that you wish to keep on as long as possible, because it is your group's main cash cow.

Let us also suppose that this project directly generated hundreds of stable, well-paid jobs. And indirectly helped create other thousands of jobs, if you take into account the medium to long-term impact of your project on the local economy (that includes HoReCa, tourism, events, local & regional crafts, insurance business, local transports, infrastructure, social economy, etc.). A project so big it contributed to the revitalization of the whole area, in an age of green energy transition that forces people to think of new, creative ways to make use of their land and its available resources. Reconversion being the key concept here.

With this in mind, what is your best interest at stake: cleverly keep an eye on financial resources management, in order to keep the project alive? Or endlessly discuss (and by doing this, allow to fester) the alleged qualms of your female lead to shoot risqué scenes with her co-star (partner everyday, tralala, fill in the blanks)?

I am ready to bet a bottle of Moët & Chandon Rosé Impérial champagne (my favorite and founded in 1743!) that a) such qualms never existed and b) such qualms would never have made it to a production meeting, in a truly professional environment. Not a group of over-excited, parochial zealots whose focal point never went higher than a mid-section view of the world.

1. Arata Shihou, who played Suigetsu (Team Hebi / Team Taka) in the "Live Spectacle NARUTO (Narusute) ~Ninkai Taisen, Kaisen~" (2022), about Ryuji (Uchiha Sasuke).

"He really is Sasuke, for real. I was blown away."

2. Ryuji (Uchiha Sasuke) often wears his own personal Sasuke merchandise to "Live Spectacle NARUTO" rehearsals.

He had a custom-made shirt made with the name "Uchiha Ryuji" (2015), and wore LIBERE's official Uchiha Sasuke and NARUTO Rival T-shirts (2021).

3. In 2021 during the "Live Spectacle NARUTO ~Uzumaki Naruto Monogatari~", Ryuji (Uchiha Sasuke) posted about the Mangekyou Sharingan lenses that he bought himself even though he wasn't required to use them in the actual stage play.

However, Ryuji did use them for his Uchiha Sasuke character visual photoshoot.

4. Ryuji (Uchiha Sasuke) is considered to be one of the actors who has contributed greatly in shaping the culture of 2.5D.

NOTE: "2.5D musical/stage" loosely refers to musicals/stage that are based on a 2D source material ie. manga, like the "Live Spectacle NARUTO".

Ryuji (Uchiha Sasuke) has been featured in books about 2.5D, like "Eureka: 2.5D Special" (2015) and "Top Runners of 2.5D" (2019), and was invited as a guest panelist to speak about his experience in 2.5D (2015).

He was also a guest on "What’s 2.5D?" (2019), an official show about 2.5D, hosted by Kenta (Gaara), 2.5D ambassador at the time.

Ryuji (Uchiha Sasuke) also has TV specials about career, such as "Butai Danshi 'Sato Ryuji no Sugao'" (2016) and "Sato Ryuji 'Ryu'" (2022).

5. Ryuji in 2021 on how much he thinks about Uchiha Sasuke in the "Live Spectacle NARUTO":

"Without a doubt, at present, the ones who think about Sasuke the most in Japan are Kishimoto-sensei, Sugiyama-san, who plays Sasuke in the anime, and right after them, me."

They talked about their history with Koudai: Ryuji and Kimi-chan (since 2013) and Yui (since 2015).

7. Kimi-chan (Hatake Kakashi) has a personal online show called, "Oheya de Shabera Night". For the milestone 50th stream, he invited Ryuji (Uchiha Sasuke) to appear as a guest.

I started the Expanse it's pretty good so far - Peggy; I've been hearing about this show for quite a while and didn't even realize till recently the same people who made Farscape made this show. I'm more curious now because word on the street is the Expanse creators were being recruited to do a new Stargate show. I'd try it but I've heard it's very mythology-heavy(?) and I personally hate shows like that, prefer my scifi like my other tv: light, fluffy, fun, not hard to follow. It's one of the reasons I prefer Eureka and Resident Alien over heavy stuff like Battlestar Galactica. What are your thoughts on The Expanse, Peggy?

Well, i think the show is one of the "serious" ones. The first two books of the series the show is based were pretty serious and .... intense?

Have seen only one ep, but me and my pals were drunkish and not in a mood for the best sci fi show (a lot of people thinks like that).
