Day 1- Sun and Moon

Happy New Dream Appreciation Week everybody! I may technically be cheating with this one but for the first day I decided to go with a classic and I did Eugene in moonstone armor side by side with Rapunzel in Sundrop armor! A lot of Eugene’s design was inspired by @dreaming-in-seams and @sofwa-fitzzherbert ‘s New Moon au cause I’ve been binge scrolling through the tag XD Hope y’all enjoy!!

I am not okay

Good Omens 2 is making me feel things I rarely feel for a piece of media

Sure I love all kinds of media and fictional stories and I often get attached to characters and concepts, but not to this degree

And when I think about it, the last time I felt this way was when I played the sequel game to Underworld Office. If you know then you know, but that game is heart wrenching, I mean “unfounds your family” kind of heart wrenching

And Good Omens just “unfounded my family” so bad, I might have to turn off my thoughts and feelings for a couple hours just to get some sleep

Second Update: New Dream Animation WIP

Now 4 hours in the animation looks like this:

The first WIP was 8 frames and is at 6 frames per second. The newer wip has all the in-between frames and is about 24 frames at 12 frames per second.

Basic shading is done and now it's time to colour it!

I consider you to be an authority on New Dream, and I have been having an argument with my cousin who I introduced the series. she feels the series ruined Rapunzel and Eugene romance. She disliked key scenes that Rapunzel originally had with Eugene were given to Cass in his place. Especially Rapunzel Day 1, and the series finale. I get her point, but I don't think Cass having Eugne's movie scenes hurt their relationship. I saw as it recontextualizing how Raps forms deep connections with others.

I don't feel like Cassandra recreating key moments with Rapunzel in Eugene's stead "ruined" New Dream, but I do feel like it cheapened Cassandra's character, and, quite frankly, it pissed me off. While, to me, it doesn't detract from New Dream and who they are and what they stand for, I also don't think Cassandra should have been given those moments instead of having been allowed unique things to her. By the end of the series, Cassandra was "stealing" callbacks from movie characters left and right, and that felt cheap and weak to me.

However, this is only my opinion. Just because you consider me an authority doesn't make your opinion any less valid than mine. Authorities on subjects are about the facts, not the opinions.

Tangled Moon Cult AU

I have had this AU in my head for a while. I wasn’t planning on actually doing anything without, but it wouldn’t leave my mind for weeks. And if I do don’t do something, it would never go away. So I decided to share it and see what you all think. If you wanna do something with it, go right ahead. Sorry if this is disorganized and doesn’t make since.

Moon Cult AU

This is a Moonstone Eugene (AKA Moongene) AU

In this AU, instead of being feared, the Moonstone is worshipped in the Dark Kingdom.

Although the Moonstone is destructive, the people within the cult believe its power to be gift from the heavens, and the black rocks are to defend the true followers of the Moonstone and to punish those who would try to destroy it or ‘non-believers’.

I’m not sure if the Dark Kingdom would actually be a kingdom, more of a smaller community of people who worship the Moonstone

Since they see the Moonstone as good, naturally, they would see the Sundrop as bad.

King Edmund’s and Eugene’s family have been in charge of the cult for generations. King Edmund would be fiercely loyal and devoted to guarding the Moonstone and would raise Eugene as the same.

The Brotherhood would be high ranking members of the cult. Hector as its most fanatic follower, Quirin as the defector, and Adira as the one who would question the Moonstone and the cult’s beliefs, but wouldn’t leave.

Eugene would’ve been raised as something as a Chosen One within the Moon Cult. Chosen to be the one to wield its power.

He would’ve spent his whole life training to be the perfect wielder of the Moonstone. And his mission would be to find the Sundrop and destroy it.

Eugene would’ve found Rapunzel as he was tracking the Sundrop, and thanks to his training, he would realize she was the Sundrop rather quickly.

This Eugene would be more serious and aggressive than his canon counterpart, since wielding the Moonstone is considered a high honor and must be taken seriously.

Although his mission would be to basically kill her, there will come a moment where the two would have to work together. Basically there is a bigger threat that would require both the Sundrop and the Moonstone.

Through spending time with Rapunzel, Eugene would come to question everything he was taught.

Of Course, they would fall in love and Eugene wouldn’t be able to bring himself to hurt her, even though this was what he trained for. It would be a bit of a long process, but eventually, he would defect from the Cult.

His father, Edmund, would not be pleased, and would considered Eugene a traitor. And Traitors must be punished. Edmund wouldn’t be happy to have to hurt his own son, but would if Eugene defects from the Cult.

This is what I had so far. I might add more, but I’m not too sure. I just wanted to write this down because it had been in my head for a while and I needed to get it out of my system.

“... have you ever considered stopping??” it is pragmatic, and maybe a little too on the dot, but eugene skips right to the point instead of padding her concerns. it’s a lesson that he knows is hard to learn, but one that takes time and consideration. but if he can offer any of his own guidance, eugene can at least share: “you don’t owe anyone a facade.”
