1) who can outdrink the other?

B'st can hold a larger volume of liquid than Resh'an. This is because Resh'an has significantly less mass, and is also full of holes.

(Pre-immortality Resh'an was a cheap date. Post-immortality Resh'an would regularly go on centuries-long benders with Aephorul where they would try to outdo each other in the quest to brew the ultimate Potion of 4Loko. Post-split Resh'an is traumatized and clinically depressed and doesnt think he deserves fun, so he's looped around to being a cheap date again.)

(Human intoxicants don't work on songsters, but catnip might.)

15) who isn't afraid to embarrass the other in public?

Oof. They'd have to appear together in public first, wouldn't they? B'st loves to tease Resh'an, but he would never, actually do that to him in public. B'st doesn't even openly acknowledge that he's been meeting with Resh'an after the events of the game until he gets busted by Serai.

(Resh'an in the parting is all we know of heaven universe is fundamentally more broken than he is in Outshine the Sun; they have diverging backstories, and this Resh'an has a lot more issues around his body. It takes him years to get comfortable with B'st seeing his face; it's probably close to a century before B'st ever actually gets all of his clothes off.)

B'st, meanwhile, was dead and incorporeal for too long to even begin caring about what anyone thinks of him now. Living glass don't give a fuck. Even if Resh'an were inclined to try, he'd never actually succeed at embarrassing B'st.

(Modern AU Resh'an is what you get if you take away most of the trauma. He is mostly shameless, but he also gets off on being humiliated. Modern AU B'st is also too old to give many fucks, but he's fairly reserved and polite about it.)

19) who clings to the other for comfort when they’re sad or scared?

There's a lot of mutual clinging- they'll seek each other out when they need physical comfort. They do a lot of tiptoeing around the subject of Aephorul, though, so sometimes physical comfort is the only thing they can give each other. Which isn't particularly healthy for either of them, honestly! But if they had to acknowledge the fact that Resh'an is still in love with Aephorul out loud, it would break both of them.

B'st talks to Serai, Arty, or Zale and Valere when he needs to process things, and all five of them get together every few decades on Garl's birthday. Resh'an doesn't have anyone else that he can reach out to, so he mostly just...stews in despair.

20) who is more ‘physically passionate’? (hugs, kisses, or maybe more…)

I did already answer this one, too, but instead of a shitpost, I'll give you an nsfw Etudes snippet:

“You don't have to hold yourself back with me,” Resh'an had said. “Consider the invitation always open.”

Which meant that now, when they were together, B'st took every opportunity to touch every possible part of Resh'an he could reach, and anything he couldn't easily reach was a puzzle to be dissected- sometimes literally.

Beneath the bandages, Resh'an was a piecemeal collection of broken and unused parts, and B'st didn't seem to care at all. He made the same humming sound of satisfaction, whether he was wrapping his hands around what remained of Resh'an's liver- or pinning Resh'an to the ground and fucking him into screaming incoherence.

“It's all the same to me.” B'st's voice was low and affectionate in his ear. Resh'an leaned back against B'st's torso and clutched at the immovable arm wrapped around his waist. B'st held his legs splayed wide and drove into him slowly and steadily with a thick, heavy glass appendage. “The glass doesn't feel any different, whether I touch you with my hands, or like this.” A harder thrust, and Resh'an made an incredibly embarrassing noise. “You do seem to enjoy this, though.”

Another hard, deep thrust, and Resh'an whimpered. B'st chuckled. “And you make the most beautiful sounds.”

Later- much later- after B'st was finally satisfied with the range of noises he'd wrung from Resh'an's overtaxed wreck of a body, he would still keep close. Resh'an had grown accustomed to moving about his little bedroom and the library with B'st rolling beside him. Or he would find himself being carried, lifted to perch on B'st's shoulder as they climbed to the observation deck of the tower at night to watch the stars.

It had been overwhelming at first, but he didn't want to push B'st away when he'd been so confident in making the offer in the first place. B'st never forced the issue when Resh'an needed to pull away, when being touched hurt too much. He felt that need less and less the more often they were together.

Fooling around with more fantastical designs for the Layered Earth.

Nocturne and Sonata here were normal people, once, but they got a little too cuddly with some particularly weird magic artifacts, and now they’re, uh, not quite Angels and not quite Prophets. Angels are defined by their still being human but not having proper Humanity, and prophets by their being beyond human while retaining their all important capital-H Humanity. These two are more like… if something wanted to be part of Humanity, picked two weird college kids to be their models, kinda-possessed-kinda-replaced-kinda-cloned said college students and now they’re weird leggy army birdie thingies with twice the dramatic dispositions, and three times the urge to sing a capella in many-part harmony, and four times the audacity to dress like that.

God, this is fucking crazy

So i only have 3 more classes to take, but it'll cost the same to take 3 classes as 4 classes. So I've been thinking about taking a 4th class just for the hell of it. Something fun and/or easy.

Out of curiosity, I looked up orchestras. I was in it in my first year, but I haven't consistently played since 2016. But I still dream about being in an orchestra again. I *miss it*. So I was like. Well, what if *that* was my 4th class next semester? What If?

I looked it up. This week is the last week they're doing auditions for it. There was only one more spot free after today. And that's *tomorrow evening*.

I haven't really played my violin much in YEARS. I'm so out of practice. But apparently they don't reject anyone outright. Auditions are just for placement. So worst case scenario, I get placed in an orchestra at a lower skill level than I was at my prime. It'd still be an orchestra.

It's crazy short notice, but I don't think I'd forgive myself if I passed it up. Bc I have just one more semester before I graduate. One last opportunity to be in a school orchestra. And if I didn't do this, I'd be left with that What If forever.

So. Crazy short notice, but I have a violin audition tomorrow!!! Hahahaha
