According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, 80% of cut flowers in the U.S. are imported. The carbon footprint for these imported blooms is substantial, not to mention the chemicals involved in growing quickly and preserving these flowers for their long journey. Pesticides are now being found in our rivers and lakes across the globe, leading to a variety of illnesses in both humans and wildlife, and the cut flower industry is a major contributor. Unfortunately, this is the terrible truth behind the floral industry. We think our arrangements should be joy-infused and earth-friendly. To that end, Revel Petals maintains our own organic garden to populate your project. Have a particular bloom in mind? If you give us enough lead time, we might just plant it especially for you. We will also sources locally to California Flower Farmers, or will seek out American grown blooms for harder to find varieties, giving priority to Organic farmers. While this may create extra work on our part, Revel Petals believes our earth is too important to cut corners and buy pesticide ridden, imported blooms.
