Omg i saw your post that your doing Ethan x reader or Aaron hotchner x reader! What if it’s combined? Reader (or oc whichever you prefer) is Ethan’s sister who got out of the IMF and now works for the bau and is dating hotch. One day Ethan shows up (as the dramatic person he is) and tells her he needs her help or both of them are gonna die. Idk something angsty and dramatic
Okay, I um kind of changed it a bit. I saw the words angsty and dramatic and an idea came to mind and I just rolled with it. I hope you don't mind. Also, very sorry for how long this took me, but I hope you like it.
Buckle up boys, it's a long one
---------
She left the IMF after a near death experience. Granted, that was an occupational hazard, and it wasn’t the first one she’s had. But something about this particular experience really rattled her.
Maybe it was disarming a nuclear bomb before it could go off, she wasn’t sure. She had thought her brother had the world ending missions, but she had her fair share of them too. Turned out it ran in the family.
After the debrief, she told Kittridge she was done. He tried to persuade her to become an instructor, even had Ethan try to convince her to stay with them. But the thought of teaching the next generation had her gut churning. So, she said no and left and hasn’t looked back since.
A few weeks after quitting, the director of the FBI tracked her down and offered her a job. Saying that her skill sets were perfect for the BAU. It started off rocky, as it usually does when starting a new job, and it didn’t help that the team had formed a family.
It was fine, they didn’t trust her much given that they knew next to nothing about her. Though there wasn’t a puzzle Garcia couldn’t solve, she seemed to be an exception. Whenever Garcia tried to find anything about her, nothing came up that pertained to her. Stating to the team that she was a ghost; she didn’t exist and what little she found was confidential.
Slowly, and one by one, she wormed her way into everyone’s hearts, and she stopped feeling like an outsider peering through the window.
She’s been with the BAU for five years, and dating the Unit Chief for three. It had been work cracking the hard shell of one Aaron Hotchner, but eventually she had. And along the way fell in love.
He doesn’t know much about her past before the FBI. Well, he knows more than the rest of the team, but not much. He knows she worked for the government, doing covert assignments. What, she never said and hoped to keep it that way. He knows she has a brother who still worked there, but has never met him.
She doesn’t know how long she can hide that part of her life, but she hopes to keep it away from her current life as far as possible. God knows, Aaron doesn’t need to be pushed into the fray of her past. But she’s a Hunt, and if there’s one thing, she knows that the past will come to collect when you least expect it.

“Do you think we’ll get the weekend off?” Emily asked offhandedly as the three of them waited for the elevator. She snorted and shook her head, bringing her coffee cup up and took a sip.
“Doubt it,” she said, “every time we talk about the weekend and what plans we have, we usually get called in.”
“Yeah. But what if we didn’t talk about our plans?” JJ asked. The elevator dinged and the three of them stepped in, laughing.
“Sure, then maybe we’ll get it off. But knowing our luck we still get…” she trailed off as she turned around to see a familiar face through the building doors. And it seemed like time had stopped as she stared at him. He didn’t smile or wave, he just stood there, staring at her as if they were in a staring contest like they had as children.
“Hunt?” Emily called, waving her hand in front of Y/N. “Are you okay? You look like you’ve seen a ghost,” she asked, and she blinked and he was gone. Maybe she had.
“Uh, yeah. I just,” she started and shot her hand forward, stopping the elevator doors from closing. She needed to make sure it was just that, just a ghost. “I forgot something in my car,” she lied though they didn’t buy it. “I’ll meet you up there.” Stepping off, she made her way towards the door, ignoring their calls of worry.
Pushing the door open, she turned her head around and hoped to see Ethan. But he was nowhere to be seen, and she briefly entertained the thought that she was just seeing things. She has been thinking about Ethan a lot lately, it could be her mind playing tricks. But there was a small part of her that knew what she saw was real. That Ethan might be in D.C, and he came to see her.
Grumbling about how stupid brother were under her breath, she walked across the street and hoped that there was something there that told her Ethan was there.
Just as she walked past a payphone, it started ringing. She watched it for a moment, waiting to see what would happen. And when someone went to answer it, it stopped ringing. Okay weird. When the person shrugged and walked away, it started ringing again. It was too much of a coincidence of seeing Ethan and having the phone ring.
“Dammit Ethan. Why couldn’t you make an appointment or something?” she mumbled to herself as she went to pick up the phone. “Hello.”
“In an hour, meet me where the mummies rest,” was all he said before hanging up. She blinked, staring at the receiver in her hand. What?
“What?” she muttered in disbelief. Somehow not surprised with the message. She hung up and glanced at her watch. She wasn’t going into work today, that she was sure of. Sighing, she fished out her phone and dialed.
“Hotchner,” he answered after the third ring. She didn’t answer right away, still in thought of what exactly she was going to tell him. She must have been quiet for a bit too long. She heard rustling and imagined Aaron moving some papers around before checking to see if the call was still connected.
“Honey? Are you okay?” Aaron asked softly, as if he was afraid to spook her. It brought a smile to her face at how fast he can go from Work Hotch to Home Hotch. She sniffled and turned to look up at the building, eyes on the floor she thought his office was. “Sweetheart?”
“Sorry. I-I don’t think I’ll make it to work today,” she finally answered.
“You haven’t gotten sick, have you?” Aaron asked, and wrinkled his forehead in worry was clear in her mind. As if he was standing in front of her. “You were fine this morning.”
“No, not sick,” she confirmed. Scratching her cheek, she debated telling him the whole truth. She decided on half the truth then. “Do you remember my brother?” she waited for his hum of acknowledgement before continuing. “Well, he’s in town.” Okay, she wasn’t sure if he was or not, but it’s something he didn’t need to know.”
“Everything okay?” Aaron asked, she bit her lip, shrugging helplessly, forgetting he couldn’t see her.
“I don’t know. I haven’t seen or talked to him in five years,” she sighed out, “it could be nothing but it could be-”
“Something,” Aaron finished the thought for her. And knowing her brother the way she does, it was something. But she wasn’t ready to tell him that, not yet at least. “Go. Take as much time as you need. I think you have saved up vacation days you still need to use.”
“Is this Aaron talking or Hotch?” she couldn’t help but tease. Aaron huffed out a laugh, bringing out a smile from her.
“A little bit of both I suppose,” he answered, “still, take a few days if it’s important. If it’s not, still take them and spend time with your brother. Family is important.” He means it, she knows. Especially after what he went through with Haley. And she takes his words to heart. “Tell me how it goes, okay?”
“I will, thanks Aaron,” she whispered, rubbing her nose. “But are you sure you can handle the workload without me?”
“We handled them before you, I’m sure we’ll manage,” he teased, lifting up her spirits a little. You heard a knock and some mumbling before Aaron came back on the phone. “I have to go; a new case just came up. Stay safe. I love you.”
“You stay safe too, and I love you too.” With that you hung up.
Where the mummies rest. Why’d he have to be so damn cryptic, she’ll never know. If it was anyone else, they wouldn’t know what he was talking about. But since it was her that picked up the phone, and with her love of puzzles and riddles, she knew the answer.
She had an hour to meet him, an hour to prepare for whatever storm Ethan brought with him. Instead of going home or to the car, she turned and started walking towards the Smithsonian. She had hoped the walk would help clear her mind.
But by the time she stood in front of the building, she was in a bundle of nerves. Which was ridiculous, Ethan’s her brother. A brother who you haven’t seen nor talked to since she left the agency.
Feeling a little silly, she shook her head and walked inside. She bypassed all the other exhibits and went straight to ancient Egypt. Once she walked into the room, she slowly made her way around it. Picking up a pamphlet, making it look like she was there for the exhibit and not waiting for someone.
Though she didn’t have to wait long before her older brother stood beside her. She paid him no mind, and kept her focus on the vase she was currently studying.
“You look good,” Ethan finally said after a few moments of silence. She hummed and stole a glance in his direction.
“Could say the same about you,” you shot back, eyes returning to the pamphlet in her hands. “How’d you even find me anyways. Not that I was hiding or anything,” she added as an afterthought.
“You’re my younger sister, of course I’m going to keep tabs on you,” he answered. Furrowing her eyebrows in thought. If that were true, he could have made contact sooner. Right?
“No, you had Benji track me down,” you countered and she didn’t miss the smile that came after. “He’s here, isn’t he?” she asked, looking around. When she couldn’t find the familiar blond, her next target was a security camera. Finding one, she narrowed her eyes as if he was there.
“He says hi, by the way,” Ethan said, finally turning to you.” And that they keep track of everyone who’s ever worked for them. Even after they leave.” Of course, they do. Why that surprised her, she had no idea.
Turning back to Ethan with a huff, her hands crumpled the pamphlet as her grip tightened around it. “Well tell Kittridge I’m not coming back. And getting you to ask me doesn’t change my answer. It’s not like we’ve talked recently,” she said quietly, hurt creeping into her voice.
“I know and I’m sorry,” he said, frowning. Shaking his head, he reached out and took her by the arm, guiding the two of them somewhere more private. “Now’s not the time to catch up. I’ve come to ask for help.”
“No,” she said, shaking off his hand. She turned around to face him, crossing her arms over her chest. “I said I was done and I mean it. Tell Kittridge to leave me alone.”
Frustration crossed his features and he took a deep breath before talking. “Kittridge doesn’t know I’m here, he didn’t send me. I’m the one who needs your help,” he said, “she’s back and she’s gunning for you.”
“I don’t-I don’t know who you're talking about Ethan,” she finally answered. Ethan groaned and she stepped back a little at the look he was giving her.
“One of your first missions was to stop a trafficking ring,” he reminded, hoping it’ll jog her memory. She hummed and let her eyes wander around the room as well as her mind.
As they do, her eyes settle on a person, and something not right clicks in her brain as she continues to stare. And it’s not the ‘it’s rude to stare’ her mom would tell her growing up. No, it’s something else that she can’t put a finger on.
The woman she’s staring at gives Y/N a familiar smile and wave when it clicks.
“No.”
“She’s coming for you and everything that you love.” She faintly heard Ethan say, but all her attention was on the woman across the room. She watched with mild horror as she wiggled a picture back and forth. She may be too far away to see the picture clearly, but she could faintly see the outline of the people in it and it made her heart drop to her stomach.
Pushing the pamphlet into Ethans chest and made her way towards the woman, ignoring her brother’s surprised grunt. The woman turned and made her way out of the room, dropping the picture as she went.
Y/N ignored the picture and kept walking, following the blond. “Sorry, excuse me, pardon me,” she went on as she gently pushed her way through the crowds. She quickened her pace as she kept going, ignoring everyone but the person she was following.
Once she entered the main lobby, she began to run until he pushed her way out the doors. Running down the steps, she looked around and cursed when she couldn’t find her.
“Y/N!” Ethan yelled just as her phone ran. Getting it out of her pocket, she answered.
“Hunt.”
“Long time no see,” the voice said, laughing. Y/n’s grip on her phone tightened at the sound of her voice. It may have been years since she put that person away, but she could never get rid of the voice from her nightmares.
“Whatever game you're playing Lily, it ends,” she hissed, turning around hoping she could find Lily.
“No game,” Lily said, voice suddenly serious, “you ruined my life, Y/N. It’s only fair I ruin yours.”
“And what’s that supposed to mean?”
“I think you know,” Lily answered, “I mean who gets to find the love of their life? I’m sure Aaron and I have lots to talk about.”
“You stay away from him. Your fight is with me, not him.”
“You brought him the day you met him,” she hissed. “Whatever happens to him will fall on your hands, not mine. See you soon, Y/N.”
She made a noise in frustration as the call disconnected. Ethan grabbed her arm and turned her to face him. He had questions, they were just going to have to wait until later.
“What’s going on?” Ethan asked, Y/N made a face and just as she went to answer, her phone rang. Looking down, Derek’s name flashed and she quickly answered.
“Hey, is Aaron with you?” she asked before he could say anything.
“No. That’s what I’m calling about,” Derek answered, and she could hear the worry in his voice. “We think he’s missing.”
There were a few things she could have said, she could tell him the truth that she knew who had him, or she could lie and act surprised. But there was someone she was thinking about at that moment. “What about Jack? Is he okay?”
“Yeah,” Derek said and she sighed in relief that he was safe. “Rossi went to pick him up once we realized Hotch was gone. Wanna talk to him?”
“If he wants too,” she answered and waited as the phone moved and Jack’s voice filtered through. She smiled and turned slightly from Ethan at his curious look he sent her. “Hey, Jack. How’s it going?”
“Good! Uncle David came and got me and brought me to dad’s work. They said he was busy, as Spencer and Penelope are helping me with my homework,” he answered, “after Penelope said she had some games I could play.”
“That sounds fun,” she said, and couldn’t help the smile Jack brought her. “Make sure they feed you too. I don’t think I’ll come and get you today, sweetie.”
There was a moment of silence before Jack voiced the question she was hoping to avoid. “Dad’s missing, isn’t he?” Sighing, she rubbed her forehead as she thought of the best way to answer it. “Can you tell me? No one wants to tell me the truth, but I can take it. I know that they’ll find him and bring him back safely. I just want someone to tell me what’s happening.”
She took a moment to breathe before answering Jack. He was right, he deserved the truth no matter what was happening. “Yeah, your dad’s missing. We’re not sure who or what happened but we’re going to fight him.”
“I know,” he said and she felt the weight of trust Jack was giving her. And she made a promise to do whatever it took to find him. Even if it meant going against everyone. “Uncle Derek wants to talk to you. Be safe, okay?”
“I will. I love you,” she said before the phone shuffled back to Derek.
“It’s all hands-on deck, Hunt. We need you back here.”
“I know, but I can’t.”
“What do you mean you can’t?” Derek asked, and she could tell he was getting frustrated with her and her non-answers.
“Trust me okay, I just can’t.” There was silence on both ends, and she could hear the fluttering of people running back and forth behind Derek. She wondered if he was in his office or out in the conference room.
“You know who it is, don’t you?” Derek questioned once he put the pieces together. You didn’t answer, but that was an answer of itself. “Oh man, you do. Then you need to come back to the office, if you know who has hotch. Fill us in.”
“I can’t Derek. Just trust me, okay? I have to go after her, just me. I won’t let you handle my mess.”
“Well, you should,” he grumbled, “we’re family and we help each other no matter what.”
“I know,” she whispered, taking a deep breath she let it out slowly. “But what I’m going to do, it goes against the FBI. Hell, it goes against everything we stand for. And I’m not going to risk your jobs over something I'm doing. You guys had your fair share of that, I’m not adding more to it.”
“You know we don’t care about that.”
“I know, but please Derek. Let me do this my way,” she begged and started counting. It helped with her nervousness, and she only hoped they would understand. Derek huffed and grumbled something before he answered.
“Okay, fine. Do it your way, but we’re not going to stop searching for him our way.”
“I wouldn’t expect anything less.”
“But the minute you’re in trouble, call me. And we’ll be there to help.”
“Thanks Derek,” she said, smiling slightly. He grunted and wished her good luck before hanging up.
Tapping her phone against her fingers, she lets her eyes unfocus as she thought. There are many places Lily can go too, but it all depends on who she's still in contact with. She wouldn’t stay in the states long, preferring the warmth over the chilly air of Washington. She always did favour Dubai. Preferred being there and let her lackies do most of the heavy lifting. But she isn’t that stupid to go to places Y/N knows she might go. Maybe somewhere new? Maybe pull one over on her and stay Stateside, just somewhere now here. Maybe…
“You gonna explain what that’s all about?” Ethan asked, making her jump at the sudden sound that was in her ear. She blinked, forgetting that he was there and waiting for her to be done. “You got lost in your head again. Things never change.” He laughed as she turned to him and punched him in the arm.
“Like you’re one to talk,” she said and looked around. “Do you have a rendezvous point?” she asked, Ethan nodded and started walking. She quickly followed in silence, wanting to wait until they weren’t out in the open to talk.
As she walked, she turned off her phone, took out her SIM card and broke her phone. She didn’t want to, there were too many photos she cherished. But she was thankful she backed it up the night before, old habits die hard and she’s glad that was one of them she hasn’t broken.
“Why did you do that?” Ethan asked once they neared a shady looking motel. She raised an eyebrow at the state of it, but didn’t say anything about it.
“I have a friend I work with who’s really good with computers,” she answered, stepping through the door once he opened the door to the room he was staying in. “So much so, she could give Luther a run for his money.”
“Now I don’t know about that,” a deep voice called from somewhere in the room. She turned and looked towards-
“Luther!” she happily called, making her way towards him and gave him a hug. “Oh, it’s good to see you!”
“I just wish it was under better circumstances,” Luther said, patting her back as he pulled away.
“Me too,” she said, going and giving Benji a hug. “But we’re here now and we have to go forward.”
“Right. So now what?” Benji asked.
“Go through the museum’s security systems and comb through it until we find her,” she answered and frowned at the looks they were giving her. “What?”
“We did that and we seemed to have disappeared.”
“Okay,” she hummed, scratching her nose in thought. “So, we look through a different angle. Can you hack into the FBI security feeds?”
“Do ducks quack?” Luther asked as he went to work. In no time, they were watching the FBI offices. She instructed him what offices and the time she had in mind.
She watched as Aaron stepped out of his office with Garcia. They moved towards the conference room and stayed for a few minutes before everyone left the room. As Aaron made his way towards his office, he answered his phone. He paused on his walk, and she could see the worry lines wrinkling around his eyes.
She bit his lip and ignored her brother's stare as she continued watching. A second later, Aaron was rushing out of the office. “Luther?”
“Already on it,” he said, pressing a few buttons. She watched as Luther scanned through the security feeds until she spotted Aaron in the lobby. She watched as two men came up to him, whispering something to him before leaving the building.
“There,” she pointed out, stopping Luther.
“Who’s he with?” Benji asked, and all she could do was shrug.
“I don’t know, but whoever they are really got to him,” she mumbled, though she already knew the answer to that. She’s just thankful the team got to Jack before Lily could.
“Who is he?” Ethan asked, taking the picture from his pocket and holding it in front of her. “Who are they to you? And why did Lily go after him?”
“It’s like you said, Ethan. She’s coming after everyone that I love,” she answered, taking the photo from him. She stared at it with a soft smile. It was a picture she had taken on one of their days off. Jack had wanted to bake cookies with the two of them, and they couldn’t say no.
They had spent the day baking cookies, at one point Jack and Aaron had gotten into a flour fight. Along with the two of them, the kitchen was full of flour, and Y/N had snapped the photo of the two of them laughing.
“His name is Aaron Hotchner and the boy is Jack, his son. They’re my boys,” she continued when someone cleared their throat.
“Jack’s your son?” Benji asked, leaning over to see the picture. “Looks more like his dad than you.”
“No, he’s from a previous marriage. But I think of him as my own,” she answered, tracing the photo with her thumb. “And the only reason Aaron would be so frantic is if Jack’s in trouble. He’s safe,” she quickly added at the worried looks they were giving her. Afraid of bringing a child into this. “I don’t know who, but Lily found out about them.”
“So, you're married?”
“No, just dating. But we’ve been together for a couple of years,” she answered with a slight smile. “They’re my world and I would do anything to protect them.”
“Then let’s find them.”
With the photo safely tucked away in her pocket, they set to work.
Within a few hours the group of agents narrowed it down to four places she could be.
“Now what?”
“We split up,” she suggested, and Ethan immediately shook his head at the thought.
“No, no way am I letting you go off by yourself,” Ethan said, turning towards her. “She’s after you, Y/N. This is what she wants.”
“Maybe not,” she countered, crossing her arms, and giving her brother a challenging look. “No listen,” she continued, raising a hand up to stop him from saying something, “she has a one-track mind, and that’s to hurt me. And to her, she took the only one she thinks can hurt me. Granted, she was almost right, but I digress. With Aaron, she won’t come after me. Now she’s waiting.”
“For who?” Luther asked the question everyone was thinking.
“Me. She’s waiting for the fight to come to her. And I plan to bring it.”
“What if you're wrong? What if this is a ploy to get you alone?”
“Then I’m wrong,” she said with a shrug. “I’m willing to take the chance.” She stared at Ethan, ignoring the other two in the room as they continued their tense staring contest. “I can hold my own, you know that, Ethan. If I’m the first to find her, I’ll back off and call for backup.”
“You’ll wait until I get there?” Ethan asked, she nodded.
“Yes.”
--
Twenty hours later, Y/N found herself wandering around the city of Dubai. It had been a struggle to convince Ethan that she was fine taking Dubia, but she managed. She didn’t think Lily would be here anyway, it’d be the first place they would look, and Lily knew that.
After putting out feelers around the city, she made her way back to her hotel. She was tired from traveling and knew she needed to rest before she could continue her search.
Taking out her burner with the intention of calling Derek to check in, but changed her mind. She didn’t have the energy to explain why she was in Dubai nor the story of her past. Instead, she called Benji.
“Nothing to report here,” he answered when she asked for an update. “My contacts haven’t heard anything. And what Luther said, he hasn’t had any luck either.”
“What about Ethan?” she asked, trying not to sound frustrated. Judging by Benji’s voice, she wasn’t successful.
“Don’t know, haven’t heard anything from him yet. I’m meeting up with Luther and from there we’ll meet Ethan. How about you?”
“I spread the word now I’m just waiting,” she sighed out, throwing a smile to the hotel concierge as she walked past them to the elevator. “I’ll let you know if I’ve found anything.”
“Alright. Good luck.”
Dropping the phone on the bed, she soon followed and closed her eyes. Waiting had never been her strong suit, but for Aaron, she’s willing to try. Besides, finding Lily here was a long shot, so the chances of her here were slim.
A few hours later, Y/N wore up with a start. Groaning when it registered that her phone woke her up, she rolled over and reached for it.
“Hello?” she answered groggily.
“She’s here,” the person on the phone said. Y/N shot up, fully awake.
“Where?”
“In the desert. Apparently, while she was away, she had it built. Don’t know why or how she got the funds for it.”
“Doesn’t matter,” she said, waving away the questions. It wasn’t her biggest worry anyway. “What kind of building?”
“A factor type, I think,” he answered, “though there hasn’t been much work coming out of it. As far as I can tell, it was abandoned once they finished building. I sent the blueprints and everything to ya.”
“You’re the best, Lance. I owe you one.”
Lance snorted at that. “I think you owe me more than one, Hunt. Good luck, kid.”
She stared at the phone in thought. She could go now and take Lily down, save Aaron. But that was a big risk she wasn’t sure she wanted to take. Sighing, she dialed Ethan’s number.
“Found her,” she said as soon as he picked up.
“You wait, you hear me,” Ethan warned. She rolled her eyes as she leaned over to grab her laptop.
“That’s what I’m doing,” she said, going through the email Lance sent her.
“Good. We’ll be there in four hours. Don’t do anything stupid.”
“How can I? You do all the stupid things first.”
By the time they arrived, she was prepared. “Looks like you're ready for war,” Benji noted when he entered her hotel room. She sent him a flat look.
“I had nothing to do but prepare for four hours. Of course, I’m ready.”
“You know where she is?” Luther asked, setting his bags down. Y/N turned her computer around so they had a better view.
“Know where she is, I know the layout of the building and I can guess where she’s keeping him.”
“And you didn’t go there by yourself?” Ethan asked, raising an eyebrow as a challenge. She crossed her arms and shook her head.
“Scouts honour,” she said, raising her right hand. “But I do have a van and everything ready once you’re all caught up.”
“Surprised you're not rushing us out the door.”
“I won’t risk Aaron’s life because I’m impatient.”
They spent an hour or two planning and memorizing the layout of the building. The plan was that Benji and Luther would stay in the van, directing them as needed. While Ethan and Y/N went inside to look for Aaron and Lily.
When they were all set, they left.
“Alright, looks like she set up security cameras around the building,” Luther noted as he parked in front of the building.
“So much for the element of surprise,” Benji voiced.
“It was never on our side,” Y/N said, checking her gun.
“Is that really necessary?”
“I’m an FBI agent, Benji. I won't go anywhere without it.”
“Noted.”
--
She ran through the building with Ethan, following Benji’s instructions. She turned when he said to turn, sometimes having to double back when there was no way around it. And eventually, she found the room where Lily was holding Aaron.
“Aaron!” she shouted, skidding into the room just in time to see Lily slip through the room. “Go, I have Aaron,” she said to Ethan, paying attention to him, assessing him.
“Are you sure?” Ethan asked, she nodded and Ethan left the two of them alone.
Y/N slowly approached Aaron, noticing that he was unconscious. She looked him over and sighed in relief when she couldn’t see any physical wounds on him.
She turned to the bomb that was snug around his neck. Taking a deep breath, she leaned over to study it better.
“Okay,” she whispered to no one in particular, “okay I can do this.”
Y/n’s earpiece crackled to life and she heard Benji ask, “Do what?” She debated whether to tell him or not. “Do what, Y/N?” He asked again.
“There’s a bomb,” she said, wincing when Benji yelled in her ear. “I can’t exactly move him. It looks like it’ll go off if he moves.”
“Pressure activation?” Luthor asked. She hummed, and leaned closer to get a better look.
“It looks like a twitch could set this thing off,” she confirmed, “damn she’s gotten better at this. Gotta hand it to her.”
“How about we don’t,” Benji mumbled, “how’s your boyfriend?”
“Sleeping for now. But I don’t know how long he’ll be out,” she said, leaning closer. “It also looks like it's radio controlled. And from what I can see around the room, it’s not here.”
“What about the bomb itself?”
She laid on her stomach to get a better look. “No timer, that’s good. And it looks like she made sure she was the only one who controls whether it goes off or not.”
“Oh, that’s good then?”
“Not exactly,” she said. “Like I said, if he moves it goes off.”
“So, then it’s just a really bad game of Russian Roulette,” Benji voiced what she was thinking.
“Looks like it,” she said. And just then, Aaron stirred from his sleep. She cupped his cheeks, and helped him move slowly. “Hey, I know you’re a little groggy but I need you to stay still.”
“Y/N?” Aaron asked, blinking slowly. “What are you doing here? What’s going on?”
“What’s the last thing you remember?” she asked instead of answering.
“Um,” he started, furrowing his brows in thought. “I got a call about Jack…Jack,” he said and started to shift. “Jack’s in trouble. We gotta...we have to…”
“Hey, hey Aaron. Jack’s safe,” she soothed, smoothing his cheeks with her thumbs. “Jack’s safe and is waiting for you to come home. But before we can do that, you need to listen to me. Can you do that?”
He studied her before he answered, and she could see the shift in his eyes as he focused on her. “Okay. What do we have?”
“Okay, okay. Currently, you're tied up in a chair with a bomb strapped around your neck,” she answered, ignoring Benji saying that Ethan caught up to Lily.
“And you can’t disarm it?”
“No, I’m afraid I can’t. If I try, it’ll go off. It also goes off if you move as well. So, you need to stay still, okay? It's radio controlled, so we’re waiting for my brother to handle that.”
“You never mentioned that!” Benji shouted in her ear. “Next time say something about it going off if you tried taking it off. Spending all this time searching for a way to disarm it, when there’s nothing we can do.”
“Benji, shut up,” Y/N hissed, “how’s it going Ethan?”
“Working on it,” he grunted and you figured he was in a fight.
“You’re not alone?” Aaron asked, though it sounded more of a statement.
“No. I’m with people I used to work with. Your team is still in DC looking for you.”
“We’re not in Washington.”
“We’re not Stateside anymore,” she answered and elaborated when he stared at her in confusion. “Dubai. A day or so ago, after your phone call they knocked you out and brought you here.”
“And who are they?”
“Someone from my past,” she said, “I’ll tell you about it once we’re safe. Promise.”
“Don’t make promises you can’t keep,” he said and before either of them could say another word, they heard a clicking sound coming from the collar.
“Ethan.”
“Working on it.”
“Work faster.”
“You need to leave,” Aaron said, drawing her attention back to him. Her grip tightened slightly on his face, and she shook her head.
“I will do no such thing, Aaron. I’m staying here with you.”
“I’m ordering you to go,” he said in the voice he uses when they’re out on a case, and he’s barking orders at everyone.
Normally you would listen to him and go, but this isn’t a normal situation. “Respectfully, I’m going to have to disobey.”
“I love you,” he whispered, not wanting to fight with you anymore.
“I love you too,” she whispered back, leaning her forehead against his, and waited.
They didn’t have to wait long before they heard a hissing sound. Y/N held her breath, trying not to be too hopeful.
“You’re in the clear, take it off,” Ethan said after a moment.
“Thank fuck,” she whispered, shoulders sagging as she went to remove it. Once it was off, she gently tossed it to the sighed and hugged Aaron.
“You have a lot of explaining to do,” Aaron whispered in her hair, hugging her just as tight.
“And I will,” she replied. “What about Lily?” she spoke into her ear piece.
“She won’t be a problem anymore,” Ethan replied, and she could hear footsteps coming towards them. “Come on, let's go.”
After leaving the building, and they were at a safe distance, Ethan detonated the bomb. Once they reached the city, they called it in and went to get Aaron checked out.
While he was busy with doctors, Y/N stepped out and arranged a ride home. “Ready to go home?” she asked once Aaron was in the clear.
“Ready.”
--
The plane was silent after she told Aaron everything about her past, after answering all of his questions. There were snores to be heard from behind her, and if she really listened, she could hear Aaron breath as he processed everything.
But her attention was looking out the window, waiting. For what? She didn’t know, but she hoped Aaron wouldn’t dismiss her.
“Jack?” Aaron asked, breaking the silence.
“Morgan had said Rossi took him out of school when they found out you were missing,” she answered without turning towards him. “I’m assuming he’s still with him now.”
“You don’t know?” Aaron asked, surprised. She shook her head and sighed.
“I cut off communications with them when I found out who was involved,” she said, “it was my mess and I didn’t want them to get in trouble.”
“They wouldn’t have minded,” he said softly. She blew out a breath and slowly nodded.
Silence fell again, and she fought the urge to shake her friends awake at the noise they’re making.
“I need time to process everything,” Aaron broke the silence again. She turned towards him, searching his face to see if there was an underlying message. There wasn’t, but she knew he could always change his meaning.
“Okay,” she agreed, slumping into her chair, “but I’m taking some vacation days for the next week or so.”
“You don’t have-”
“I do,” she interrupted him. “It’ll be easier for the both of us. Please, let me do this.”
Aaron nodded and leaned back into his seat, closing his eyes he let himself relax. “Okay. Okay,” he whispered.
She studied him as she thought. This was one of the possibilities of Aaron finding out. Would she have preferred him accepting her and continuing their lives as normal? Yes. But just having a conversation without the yelling and fighting was more than she could have asked for.
And on some level, Aaron had accepted her for who she is and was as a person. He just didn’t want that person to be in Jack’s life, which is fair. Being an IMF agent might be a bit different then being FBI. It wasn’t a huge difference, but still. Jack can’t lose another parent and Aaron was only protecting his son.
Sighing, she closed her eyes and ignored everyone for the rest of the flight.
Once the plane landed, Y/N watched Aaron get in a taxi and drove off. She felt Ethan move to stand beside her, arm wrapped around her shoulders in a hug.
“Need a place to stay?” Ethan asked and she side eyed him, confused.
“Don’t you live in LA?” she asked, he shrugged as he sent her a smile.
“So? You’re on vacation and I have a spare bedroom with your name on it,” he answered. She turned to study him for a minute before sighing.
“Yeah, what the hell,” she said after a minute. “Might be good for me.”
She hoped it would, hope that this isn’t the end with her and Aaron. But only time will tell.

CASSANDRA DIMITRESCU HEACANNONS
because nobody but me gets her. she's mine. what I say about her is correct I'm right and everyone else is wrong.
** joking, obviously. these are my own personal opinion. some of these hcs are NSFW... but none of them are too explicit ** they’re also mostly x reader
UNDER THE CUT
-> she's nowhere near as evil or sadistic as people make her out to be.
-> yes, she's a sadistic murderer, she's a Dimitrescu... after all, it's in their... blood?
-> she is the huntress of the Dimitrescu name. but that doesn't mean she hunts any and every human who gets in her way... sometimes when a maid fucks up minorly she just, yknow, moves on.
-> sure, she'll scowl and roll her eyes, making some kind of sarcastic comment about how "poor" the help has gotten - but she usually won't resort to murder over something small.
-> however, if the maidens crime is bigger OR if its been a while since her or her family have fed... then the poor maid can count on them becoming her next meal.
-> and she does find s sick sense of thrill in it, undeniably. i can't and won't try to argue with that.
-> she's incredibly protective of her family... especially Daniela.
-> many people portray Bela as being constantly worried about impressing her mother, and whilst this is true... I'd risk to say Cassandra is actually more worried about it, in a way. Canonically, Cass is the one Lady D calls upon for help in getting rid of Ethan... so I imagine she feels a lot of responsibility to defend them. when she fails to do so, this results in her becoming insecure she's let alcina down.
-> just so so SO cold to you when you first meet her 😭
-> and it’s gonna take her a while to open up properly… so if you’re lucky enough to get close enough to be even somewhat of a friend, then even at that - it’ll be a solid 6-8 business months before she even CONSIDERS properly opening up
-> but once she does, I do think she’s capable of being emotionally intelligent
-> I will say that this especially will take a while (after all, one of the cons of dating someone who murders people for sport is probably a lack of emotional maturity) but it could definitely happen
-> though only with people she cares about
-> she’d still be an asshole to everyone else (my asshole though)
-> do I think she could grow to be a good listener though? 100 fucking percent
-> LIKE JUST IMAGINING VENTING TO CASS AND HER SOFTLY HUMMING WHILST RUBBING YOUR BACK STOP
-> do I think she’s big on physical affection in general?
-> not particularly
-> like I feel like she enjoys it least out of the three sisters, with Dani enjoying it the most and Bela also growing to love it with time
-> I’d say Cass more so enjoys quiet moments of physical affection, small examples of pda such as hand holding or a kiss on the cheek she’ll tolerate, but unless she’s looking to show who you belong to, she typically won’t go for big acts of affection in public, and even at that the most she’ll usually go for is a kiss.
-> in private, she can be cuddly, but again - not as much as her sisters
-> I also do personally disagree with the idea Cassandra Dimitrescu is sex mad. I disagree with this for all the sisters, personally, but especially Cass. She enjoys it, yes- but I don’t think it’s the be all and end all for her.
-> However, she does enjoy it, and I reckon she does have some solid enough experience.
-> and trust me, once she’s spent enough time sleeping with you? I’d risk to say sex with Cassandra Dimitrescu would be so good it would be a damn near spiritual experience
-> (you just know she prioritises making her partner feel good.)
-> plus she deffo does aftercare. and I refuse to accept otherwise. She may be a murderer but she cares x

The Cold Comes In‎‎ 『RE8 Lords ( Ethan Winters ) x Reader‎』
Happy 2023!
So, I want to put a note here very quickly just to let you know that some of the previous chapters have been/will be revised (mainly added to and fixing grammar errors)
I will be putting a Revisited On: on the Table of Contents and then the date so you can know if anything was added since you last read it. I will also put what was Revised, such as putting that +2,000 words added, Grammar Check, etc.
Also, we are going to ignore how I said the update would be soon and now it is three months later. I ended up losing my job and then getting another one so I have been busy and hectic! But here it is! The other reason that this chapter took me so long is that I prefer for these chapters to be over 5,000 words (hence the re-editing of past chapters and adding extra scenes) as I feel like it goes into more depth with the story. But, with this, I couldn't seem to naturally get it to that point without adding a scene that I didn't want to be in this chapter and instead, be the sole focus of the next. I hope you understand!
Warning(s): N/A.

Title: The Cold Comes In Description: Sometimes you have to understand that even things you have known all your life can be bad.  Pairing: RE8 Lords [ Ethan Winters ] x Reader Fandom: Resident Evil - Village Word Count: 3,989 Current Chapter: Eight Previous Chapter: The Sinful Seed Next Chapter: TBD Story Index
Tumblr media
You awoke to the sound of the balcony door slamming shut. The wind was howling and a cool chill quickly entered the room, sending a shiver down your spine. The uncomfortable change was enough to wake you, jolting up in the plush bed. What was going on? You rubbed the back of your hand against your eyes, trying to get any remnants of sleep out of them. Desperately reaching around with your blurry vision, you grabbed an empty cup, deciding it was better than not having anything to use as a weapon. Was it one of the Sisters? No, not with that cold air...One of the terrible creatures that lurked around the castle? Oh, man...! You could never get a restful sleep, no matter where you were. You had taken the comfort of the bed for granted.
As your vision fully returned to you, instead of seeing either of your guesses, there was a man. Wait...A man in the castle? A green windbreaker jacket and dusty blonde hair greeted you. Huh...It all looked familiar and once the fog lifted from your recently awoken eyes, you knew why. Ethan Winters? What in the world was he doing here? You hadn't heard any hint of him the entire time you had been in the Castle today. Sure, you had been pretty occupied with the Sisters but you still would have noticed if Ethan was around. You were certain of it. Right? The Sisters would surely be able to sense his presence if you somehow didn't. How long had you been asleep?
There was a panicked look in his eyes, gun grasped tightly in his hand. He was covered in blood and dirt, looking more like how you appeared earlier in the day, but with more injuries. You doubted that the Sisters would let him take a nice bath in the Castle like you. Haha, funny joke...Wait a minute, you still had the question of why he was sneaking into a room while you were sleeping in it! That was a little creepy, you had to admit. Even for someone who was being hunted down by every living thing around him...That didn't give him the right to be creepy.
        "Ethan...?"
The man spun around quickly and raised the gun in your direction. Shit! He must not have noticed you in the room before coming in! Man, how distracted was he? Or had you been so bundled up in the blankets that you looked like a mountain of pillows? Raising your hands in the air with empty palms, you tried to appear as non-threatening as possible. It must have worked because, after a moment of the man taking in your appearance, he lowered the weapon while still keeping it unholstered. You let out a sigh of relief. No getting shot today, at least not at this moment. You were lucky he didn't automatically shoot in your direction instead of just pointing the gun. This made you wonder if he had come across Villagers in his travel...If everything that was around you was hostile, you would be shooting first and asking questions later.
"        Jesus...I thought this room was empty."
"I can tell." Standing up from the bed, you moved closer to the father. He looked as though he hadn't slept in days. Perhaps he hadn't. He had huge bags under his eyes and his muscles were drooping as if it took every ounce of his energy to keep himself standing. Did he need to eat as well? He looked as though he had lost weight since the last time you saw him. It could be because of all the running was doing but you doubted that was the only reason. It was as if the Village was eating him alive. Poor guy. He really deserved the Father of the Year Award. Maybe even Parent of the Year. Did they make those?
"What are you doing in here?" You continued, crossing your arms over your chest. You didn't want it to make you look threatening but either way, he did just wake you up from a pretty deep sleep. That wasn't the most relaxing of situations. A nice sleep in a nice bed, he better have a good reason for this. You had large doubts that you would get to do this again anytime soon. Couldn't he have waited a few more hours before sneaking into the Castle?
Ethan was looking around the room as if a monster was going to jump out any second. He must be struggling with his time in the Village. He was extremely jumpy. It only made sense. You were curious about what he had been put through already. The Duke told you a few details here and there but never anything substantial. You had your own occurrences within the Village, but at least you didn't have to worry about the Lords killing you on sight. Just the monsters. What was the Village like to an outsider? It was strange enough for someone who had lived their entire life inside of it. It hadn't always been like this. There was a pang in your chest when you remembered what life had been like before the outbreak, as you called it. It still may not have been paradise but it would be considered a utopia compared to this.
"I could ask you the same thing."
"Well, I asked the question first so you owe me an answer if you want to get one from me. That's the rules."
        "I'm looking for my daughter."
"I know that. I mean, why are you looking inside the Castle? Why are you in here, specifically? It isn't super easy to get inside so I doubt you just stumbled in. They don't just leave the door unlocked for bypassers to come in and get warm."
"The Duke told me my daughter was in here...."
Of course, he did. You wanted to groan, to run your hands through your hair, to do anything to show your displeasure. But, you kept that all to yourself. No need to stress this man out any more than he already was. He didn't know the truth behind the Duke and to be honest, you doubted you knew the full version yourself. He was elusive and liked to keep secrets, even from you. It was a bit hypocritical. He could keep secrets but expected you to tell him everything. Sure, you basically did tell him everything but that wasn't the point! He has the same irony that a parent had with their child.
"I guess it would make sense if Mother Miranda doesn't have her, then Lady Dimitrescu would be the next best bet. The others have never cared for a child before, even remotely. Unless you count Lady Beneviento and her dolls but that may be a bit of a stretch." As you spoke, you walked over to a pile of clean clothes resting on a fancy chair. One of the Sisters must have placed them in here while you slept. You really needed to be more aware when you were asleep. How heavy of a sleeper were you? That might be something you needed to fix.
"Now it's your turn, why are you in the castle? Are you here because the Duke is as well? Have you seen my daughter, Rose?"
        "Excuse me?'
"What do you mean, excuse me? What's confusing you? I found the Duke in one of the rooms here in the castle. He said if my daughter is anywhere on the premise, the Lady's champers will be the best bet. Are you here because he is in the Castle as well?"
You wanted to question him more, initially unaware that the Duke was also in the Castle until Ethan told you. He hadn't informed you of that part of his plan. Was it part of the plan? Was there even a plan?! You had no idea at this point! Nothing was going in the way that you expected! Sure, the Duke said things were going to change but you didn't expect the changes to affect you so much. You had hoped to just sit it all out on the sidelines in the Duke's Caravan. That was what he made it sound like the two of you would be doing, that is, until Ethan Winters arrived.
"No, I wish I was. You're not the only person dealing with some rather unique problems, Ethan Winters. I'm being tossed around from Lord to Lord like a strange new toy. Mother Miranda has ordered me to do so. I'm not yet sure of her true reasoning for it." You explained before continuing,
"And the Lady Dimitrescu won't just let you go into her champers. She is a very private woman, even I haven't been able to sneak into her chambers that often. Even if you somehow do find your daughter, as long as Lady Dimitrescu is alive and kicking, she will not allow you to leave with your child. She needs Mother Miranda's approval like a fish needs water. Plus, the Sisters will do whatever their mother tells them to. Getting your daughter while any of them are still up and active is going to be near impossible. Hell, even just leaving the castle will be a challenge with the Dimitrescu Daughters and Mother still roaming."
"Then I'll get rid of the problems."
"Have you fought them yet? The Sisters are hard enough, let alone their mother. Lady Dimitrescu has never met a suitable match, save perhaps for the other Lords. Even then, I would doubt that any of them other than Mother Miranda herself and perhaps Heisenberg, would be able to take her in a fight." You didn't like the idea of Ethan fighting the Sisters, you had known them for all your life and they were the closest thing to friends that you had. Yet, recently, they had gotten worse in their behavior. They were not the same girls you knew, not anymore. It was like the Village's evil had soaked deep in their bones, the Outbreak infecting them in a different way.
At least, you forced yourself to believe that they had changed. The other option was that you had always worn a pair of rose-colored glasses around them and it wasn't until they put your life in danger that you finally took them off.
"I'm going to get my daughter back."
"I'm not saying you won't. All I'm saying is that you need a plan heading into this fight. I never said they were undefeatable; just that it is going to be a real challenge to do so. They all have incredible healing abilities, all four of them." This was going to be a hard, perhaps nearly impossible task. After having spent today day with the Sisters, here you were, speaking to this intruder about how he might be able to injure them. It made your stomach churn. Did this make you a bad person? You were just leveling out the battlefields, giving Ethan a chance to survive. He could very easily still be killed even with your tips. You were just making it fair...You had to keep telling yourself that.
Though you may not want to think about it, you knew that the Sisters were bad entities on this Earth. They always had been but recently, the dark in them began to grow. The Sisters liked you. Maybe they actually cared, or maybe they viewed you like a little pet- either way, you were an exception to their sadistic side. Even thinking that you had to remember what Cassandra had done to you just hours before. She was willing to put you in danger just to get a laugh. She saw you as a toy that could be broken and tossed to the side, potentially forever. Had Cassandra intended for you to get hurt or did she simply not care one way or another?
The other two sisters may not have been as bad to you as Cassandra but you had seen all of their dark sides, especially since the Outbreak. Daniela purposefully made Maids screw up just to watch them get punished by their mother or one of her sisters. Cassandra had a penchant for kicking anyone when she got the chance, literally. She kicked people when they were down. It was terrifying to think about what they were truly capable of - what they could do to you if they so willed it. They could break you like a twig, easily...
Bela was not excused of the Sisters' sadistic nature. She was simply more cunning when it came to her enjoyment. She liked to watch her sisters cause problems with the servants, instead of getting her hands dirty herself. She also liked to chide the workers and cause more mental anguish than anything. She got pleasure when she saw fear in the girls' eyes. It made your stomach twist and turn. If things were just a little different, what would the Sisters do to you? Would they treat you just like the Maidens and Maids? Perhaps even worse? You really didn't know what made them treat you so differently. Was it because of your relationship with the Duke?
Pulling the large shirt off of your torso, Ethan quickly spun so his back was facing you. There was a time for decorum and a time to get the job done. At the moment, there was too much to think about to worry if this man saw you in your undergarments. With the Sisters, you had been in a more relaxed state of mind and felt more vulnerable. Now, all you could think of was the mission ahead. Ethan Winters was going to need help if he was going to get out of the Castle alive. There was work to be done and if the Duke taught you anything, it was the importance of doing a job properly.
It was nice to get these stranger's clothes off of you, finally. At least you knew that no one died in your own clothes. You assumed, anyway. The Duke was always the one to provide you with your necessities, such as your shoes and clothes. Either that or you made them yourself. You had doubts that the Duke would not give you a dead man's clothes. Maybe second-hand but even that seemed unlikely. His strange sense of grandeur wouldn't allow him to do something of the sort, if possible. He was a duke after all. What did a Duke call his children, you wondered.
"You need to rest. You said that you found the Duke in one of the chambers, yes? Go back to him. He will allow you to rest in his area, which neither Lady Dimitrescu nor the Sisters will invade. I'm not sure what's up with their relationship but it is the same with all of the Lords. He has a designated area where he is allowed to reside and for some unknown reason, the Lords cannot enter said spaces. If you require food or drink, the Duke will provide it for a price."
"A price?" Ethan peeked back around to see that you had fully changed now and were pulling your huge coat on. It made you look tiny due to it being so much larger than the proper size that would fit you. One could say it swamped you.
        "Yes, everything has a price."
"I don't have any money on me."
"Do you have anything that you've been picking up? Anything that may be of value?" You didn't know if that packrat mentality was just you or if it extended to others...You always were picking up things that didn't belong to you. They always just somehow found their way into your pockets. Whoops.
"I found a strange ruby ring and a really fancy bottle of wine...I've kept them in my pack, I really don't know why though..."
"That will do. Trade with the Duke, he will take care of you. Tell him that I said you get a discount. This should be enough to get you some food and ammunition. Maybe even a chem bottle for your hand. Make sure you do not eat or drink anything you find in the Castle. I could not promise it would be safe to consume. If it is, I couldn't promise it came from something other than a human. But make sure you get something to eat from the Duke and rest up, you will need it. This is going to be very draining, let us hope in only the metaphorical way."
        "What about you?"
"I'm going to get you a weapon that might allow you to actually kill Lady Dimitrescu. Your little gun isn't going to cut it. When you are well rested enough, go to the Temple of Worship. There I will give you the 'Dagger of Death's Flowers'. It is the only thing that is going to allow you to kill the Lady of the Castle. It drops any regenerative powers that she may have, just like the cold does to the sisters." You were checking the pockets of your coat as you spoke, ensuring everything was still there since you took it off to rest.
        "The cold?"
"Yes, due to the Sister's more unique physiology, they can not handle the cold air. Just as the dagger will break down any of Lady Dimitrescu's healing, the cold will do the same for the sisters. They also become more lethargic and slow-moving when they are in a direct shot of a breeze of cold air. You won't be able to deal with them if you aren't in a room that had outside access. You will need to use that to your advantage. If you are, run. Sometimes fleeing is your best bet until you get in a position where you have the upper hand. I will come and find you if you do not arrive at the temple in a certain amount of time."
"If you use any ammunition on the sisters before they get hit by cold air or on Lady Dimitrescu without getting the knife in her first, you will just be wasting bullets." You continued to explain. The Duke had been very strict on you knowing how to protect yourself from all of the Lords, lest the time come when you needed to. Whether you could actually perform the actions needed to hurt or kill them, was a different story. Yet, it was coming in handy now that you had to coach Ethan on what to do.
        "Why are you helping me?"
"Man of Winter, I have been raised in this Village since I was born. I hate to see it be destroyed this way and though I may consider some of the residents my friends, I know that this collection of rulers will only hurt everything they touch. Something has changed within them and is only enhancing their dark side. If they control the entire Village, it is only a matter of time before they decide to expand their territory out into the rest of the world. I will not allow anyone else to have to go through this Hell because I was too scared to do something about it or felt too bad about making a decision. Before now, the Duke and I were alone. We couldn't do anything to change what was happening. But, here you are and for some reason, the Duke is convinced that you can fix all of this."
"Fix this? I'm just here to get my daughter and then leave." Ethan Winter's tone sounded like he was trying to convince himself just as much as he was trying to convince you. He had been through something before, you could tell. No one else would be reacting in this way...You wondered if you would learn more about his past or if he would perish before he could tell you. You hoped the latter wouldn't be true.
"The Duke believes otherwise. I don't understand why but he says that things are changing in the Village, big things, and they all revolve around you. I don't mean to add any pressure on your shoulders...You should just focus on getting your daughter back. The changes will follow."
        "How can I thank you?"
"Kill Mother Miranda and make sure she stays dead."
"I want that just as much as you. If I get the chance, I swear that I will."
♥ ♡ ♥ ♡ ♥
Surprisingly, you made your way to the Temple faster than you would think. You didn't know where the sisters were. You hoped that Ethan could get what he needed without running into them but you knew that was being optimistic. You tried not to think about what may happen to the Sisters or Ethan. If they ran into one another, then one of them wouldn't be leaving that room. Did Ethan even stand a chance? You had no idea...No one had ever been able to stand up to the sisters before...No one.
Your mind hurt at the implications of what you had done. Was it the right thing? This had been going through your head since you had departed from the man. These girls put their trust in you and here you were, destroying it like it was nothing. Yet...There were all the other factors to consider. This wasn't as simple as a case of right or wrong, black or white. The Sisters lived in shades of gray and you didn't know where your decision fell on the monochrome color spectrum. You knew what the Duke would say, you knew what Ethan would say. Yet...What about what the other Lords would say? The Sisters?
You were beginning to wonder if you had some type of Stockholm Syndrome from living in the Village. Sure, you didn't actually live in the Castle with the Sisters but, the situation felt similar. Deep down, you knew they were bad and would the world would be better off if they were not in it, but on the other hand, you had your good times with them. You needed to remind yourself than a victim thought the same thing about their abuser. Even if that was just to make yourself feel better about the decision that you made in the end.
Approaching the coffin, you noticed that the lid was already half-way off. It must have been knocked off by some of those flying creatures, the women-like bats...Or were they bat-like women? You had never seen one close enough to truly tell and you would be happy to keep it that way. Hopefully you wouldn't run into any while you were out here grabbing the dagger. You had a knife but that was the only weapon you had on you, save for certain items that if combined correctly, could create a make-shift explosive device. They had been for Ethan to find...You should have given them to the man before leaving but it had slipped your mind until you reached into your pocket for a flashlight and felt the items. It was too late now.
The snow was blowing around, some getting caught in your hair as you neared the stone slab. To be honest, you never came out this far in the Castle. Sure, you may have visited it once or twice but you definitely had made yourself sound more confident than you really were when you spoke to Ethan. He didn't need to know the doubt you were feeling about retrieving the dagger. Sometimes you just had to hold onto hope and in certain cases, like this, it paid off.
At least, you thought it had paid off until you heard a deep woman's voice stretching across the marble pillars.
"What are you doing out here, pest?!"
Uh-Oh. You had been so focused on the Sisters that you forgot about one rather important and large thing:
        Their Mother.  ‎ ♥ ♡ ♥ ♡ ♥ ♡ ♥ ♡ ♥ ♡ ♥ ♡ ♥   ♡ ♥ ♡ ♥ ♡ ♥ ‎ 1 ● 2 ● 3 ● 4 ● 5 ● 6 ● 7 ● 8 ●

New Chris Redfield X OC Fic
Hey, y'all! I'm back to writing this month! I decided to bite the bullet and create an OC fic. It was intended to be my usual Chris Redfield X reader fic, but the OC seemed to fit in better with the storyline. It was written with the full intention of the Reader being able to imagine themselves as the love interest, but I just added more details for the character's development. I hope y'all enjoy!
When it's Over
Chapter 1: Saints & Sinners
The heavy noise of the helicopter blades roared in her ears. Her team was on the way to Dulvey, Louisiana to assist in apprehending the Bio-terrorist, Lucas Baker.
They had already sent in some Blue Umbrella & BSAA agents to unsuccessfully subdue Baker. Her team was sent in to find the missing soldiers and to rescue Ethan Winters.
The aircraft was completely silent on the ride over. She took the time to say a quiet prayer, not just for herself, but the others too.
She would be lying if she didn’t admit to being terrified, this was her first big mission as a major player. Usually, she would be on the sidelines waiting to collect the data from the neutralized sites or taking care of the wounded.
This would be the first time she would be in the action as it was happening. She wondered how desperate they would be to send someone like her to the forefront.
She was snapped out of her thoughts when Captain Redfield yelled for everyone’s attention.
“We’re encountering a serious bio-terrorist here, our main goal is to neutralize Lucas Baker, but we’ve lost comms with some of our best down there. If you see anybody down there, try to get them to safety.”
She gulped. The best had been lost down there. What was she considered?
She was preparing to mentally distance herself from the whole situation when Captain Redfield sat down next to her.
“You good, Connolly?” he said sensing her insecurity.
“Damn him,” she thought. Of course, he knew how to spot hesitation, that's how people get killed.
“I’m just mentally preparing is all.” She was honest.
This job wasn’t easy or for the faint of heart.
She was self-admittedly sensitive, but she did have balls of steel. The only way she knew how to survive was to separate herself mentally and convince herself it wasn’t real.
Sure, it wasn’t a great way to get along, but it kept her alive.
“What are you holding?” he asked curiously.
This was her first time working with Captain Redfield.  She assumed he was trying to get to know her, so he could at least tell her family something at her funeral.
Don’t think like that Anna.
“It’s my pendant of St. Barbara,” she told him, holding up the pendant so he could see the details.
“St. Barbara?” he asked, semi-confused.
“I’m guessing you didn’t grow up Catholic, Captain.” She laughed light-heartedly.
He returned her smile.
“You got me, I don’t put much worth into religion these days,” Chris said readjusting himself in his seat.
“I can’t blame you, it’s hard to have faith some days.”
Chris let out a sarcastic laugh.
“She’s the Patron Saint of those who work with explosives or those who face sudden and violent deaths on the job. Pretty fitting for our line of duty, huh?”
Chris was silent.
“My sister gave me this pendant after finishing basic training for the BSAA; even though my family begged me not to join but I felt called to.” She said.
“I understand what that’s like.” He said.
Anna thought for a minute and placed the pendant in Redfield’s gloved hand.
“You should take it, I think it’ll do you some good to have it on you,” she said with a smile. “We are hunting for this sicko in an abandoned salt mine.”
“Are you sure? Your sister gave this to you, Connolly.” He said through a furrowed brow.
“She’ll have plenty of time to give me another one. She’ll be thankful I gave it to you.” She said assuringly.
She was thankful Captain Redfield decided to speak with her, She felt more confident now than she did before.
Chris nodded and placed the pendant into one of his tactical pockets. The gesture filled him with a warmth he hadn’t experienced in a long time.
Damn, she was kind.
“Thanks, Connolly.” he managed out.
Before she could respond, the speaker of the aircraft crackled to life.
“We’re about to land, get ready to deploy troops.”
Chris sat up quickly, “All right you heard him.”
Anna inhaled deeply when the aircraft carrier doors opened and the other troops slid down without hesitation.
“Ladies first,” Captain Redfield said to her. She must have been hesitating more than she thought.
Anna slid down and was relieved when she quickly felt the ground under her heavy boots.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
They had been in the mine for not even 15 minutes when the horrors began.
She and Captain Redfield had encountered the first missing soldier together. He tried to warn them, to let him die; but that's when the supposedly “deceased” soldier sprung up from the floor.
“Gotcha!”
It was Lucas Fucking Baker. He had strapped a bomb to your Captain’s wrist and Chris pushed Anna back to try to get her away.
Anna unconsciously let out a yelp as her back collided with the ground.
Anna tried to get back to her feet and shoot Lucas, but she didn’t have a clear enough shot.
It wouldn’t have mattered anyway.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you, sweetie,” he said with a disgusting emphasis on the last part.
The way he addressed her made her feel sick; like she wanted to set her clothes on fire.
“My hand might just Slip!” and with that, the soldier’s head exploded.
She was so detached from the situation, she thought it was someone else who screamed “NO!”
She felt her legs start to buckle, but she knew this was only the beginning, and that she had to nut up if she had any chance of surviving the mine.
“You better go get that bomb off your wrist Redfield, wouldn’t want to leave your lady friend down here alone with me.” Lucas sneered “Actually, maybe you should. I bet y’all keep her in great shape, she could take a couple of rounds before I kill her.”
She wanted to vomit.
“Shut the fuck up, Lucas!” Redfield roared.
“I’d love to stay and make you watch Christopher, but I have some business to deal with. Y’all better head back up if you know what’s good for you.” with that, he shut the door behind him as the room released E-type spores.
“Shit,” Chris said as their ventilators switched on.
Anna looked at him. “He’s right, we have to get that off of you, It looks different from the one who killed our comrade though. I think it has a timer that hasn’t been activated yet.”
“How can you tell?”
“If he really wanted us dead just now, he would have killed us. He’s getting greedy and that’s when these guys fuck up.” Anna reasoned.
“I guess you’re right, but it still doesn’t mean he can’t detonate it at any time he wants, we’ll proceed with caution.”
That's when their comms unit crackled to life. “You two can’t be serious. We have to get that off of you, Redfield.” HQ scolded them.
“The only reason we’re down here is that the BSAA seems to be convinced you are the good guys. Do you really want us to pull out now when we’re so close to apprehending Baker? Not a chance in hell.” Chris said sternly into the Mic.
HQ sighed. “We’ll talk more when you get back to base, Captain Redfield. Just stay focused on the mission ahead.”
Anna could hear the smirk in Captain Redfield’s voice when he answered with a “Yes Ma’am.”

Hi, how are you doing? If it's not too much to ask, can I request a Sam Carpenter x Afton male reader?
The read is best friends with Tara and is dating Sam and works as a night security guard at an abandoned pizzaria. When they started dating, Sam was hesitant but soon told the resder about Billy Lommis being her father. During the events of the sixth movie, Ghostface captures him to lure Sam and Tara into a trap. When they arrive, they discover who the Ghostfaces are as well as a badly beaten reader.
Quinn then asks if they know the reader's secret. After seeing them confused, Ethan reveals the reader's real name is Y/n Afton, the son of child serial killer William Afton, hoping this will descract Sam and Tara. Neither Sam nor Tara believed them until they saw the reader's face.
After the death of the Bailey family, Sam asks the reader when he didn't tell her before, leading him to reveal how his father abused him and how it got worse after he accidently killed his younger brother and his sister was killed by one of their father's animatronics. His father then became "The Springlock Killer" to get revenge on his business partner Henry and the reader. Blaming them for the deaths of his youngest children, he killed five of the reader's friends, stuffing them the animatronic suits and killed Henry's daughter. Howevere he soon disappeared, and Henry took the reader in as his own until he killed himself from grief. After hearing what happened, Sam comforts the reader and tells them it wasn't their fault.
A few months pass, and everyone starts to move on from the Ghostface killers until while working the night shift at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzaria, he hears from Phone Guy that they found his the Springlock Killer's suit with a body inside behind a wall while demolishing another location. The reader is releaved, believing his father is dead, until he gets home and sees Sam waiting for him, worried. When he asked what was wrong, she played a new report by Gale Weathers about the suit being found. It then tells how the suit came to life and killed the demolition team.
This causes the reader and the others to hunt down his father. While going through his father's old journals, he discovers how the animatronics were brought to life by absorbing the souls of the dead children, creating remnant which can only be destroyed with fire. They figure out this is how his father must be alive and decide to lure all the animatronics and his father to the last Freddy's Pizzaria. Once the animatronics are trapped inside and his friends escape, the reader lights the building on fire. He then uses a radio to deliver a speech off of the pizzaria's intercom. He tells the animatronics to give up their spirits and to move on that their is something waiting for them in the afrerlife, before he says, "But for one of you the darkest pit of Hell has opened to swallow you whole. So don't keep the devil waiting, father."
It then cuts to five years later where we see Sam and the Reader got married and had twins, a boy and a girl, Henry and Sidney.
Sorry if it's to long. I am a fan of both franchises and thought it would be cool to combine them.
Wow, interesting idea.

Demon or Human?
Tumblr media
Pairing: Bela Dimitrescu x Demon (Fem!)Reader
Summary: A foreign invader comes into Castle Dimitrescu just as you were settling in with your new family. However, how far would you be willing to go to protect your newfound home and your newfound love?
Warning: Game spoilers (I’ll try to keep those at a minimum), Blood, Slight G0R3, uncontrollable demon rage, fluff at the end
A/N: In light of some Resident Evil Village spoilers... Let’s just say I WILL NOT HAVE IT! So, I guess this is another entry to my The Demon Amongst Vampires series! R is My Character: Hydrangea Dragonfold
--------------------------------------------------------------
1 Year..
You’ve been inhabiting Castle Dimitrescu for one year. Alcina had been able to persuade Mother Miranda to keep you in her care instead of letting you be hunted for sport. You’d probably survive it anyway, with your demon abilities.
“I have to go to a meeting,” Alcina announces to you and her daughters, “Apparently Mother Miranda has found a foreigner man-thing in our village grounds.”
“A man?!” Daniela squeals of excitement
"A new plaything?!” Cassandra asks
“You must bring him here at once mother,” Bela says
She looks at her three children, almost looking like she is tired of their pleas. However, she recomposes herself
“I will have to persuade Mother Miranda as best as I can,” Alcina says, “I appoint Hydrangea on watch. Bela is in charge.”
You leave your mouth agape, hearing your name after while of Bela calling you “micul meu demon” or everyone else calling you demon.
“But mother-” Cassandra interrupts
“Why can’t it be either one of us?” Daniela motions to her and Cassandra
“Because I’m the oldest,” Bela flaunts her ‘eldest sibling title’
“There will be no complaints my daughters,” Alcina says, “Guard the castle well Hydrangea.”
“Of course My lady,” you say out of respect
“You have permission to call me Alcina Hydrangea,” She smiles
Alcina makes her exit.
“I get the first bite on the man thing,” Daniela blurts out
“Not if I catch him first,” Cassandra interrupts
“Enough!” Both you and Bela scream
Your blue flames ignite slightly, almost setting the table on fire. However, you compose yourself. Thus, your flames ‘dieing’.
“We will wait for your mother to return,” You sigh, “Gosh you two are rowdy. No wonder why Bela is in charge.”
You ignite your flames once you stand, heading off towards the staircase. However, Bela follows you. You didn’t notice her presence until she grabs your wrist and pulls you into a room.
“Bela love what are you doing?” You ask
You try to get her to let go of you however, you stop fighting her as she doesn’t reply to you but only snakes her arms around your midsection, taking in your warmth that you were producing. Not only from your natural body heat, but your demon form as well. You were also sure that she was also listening to your racing heartbeat. The one thing you feared was giving too much heat, too much to the point where Bela and possibly everyone else you’ve come to love and care about they turn to ash because of your carelessness of your flames.
“I... Love, I have to leave,” You sigh, placing your hand on her head and the other on her waist
“No you don’t,” She counter argues
“I do my love,” You say, looking down at her, “I have to keep you three safe.”
“And you think we can’t protect ourselves?!” Bela asks
“That is not what I meant love,” You say, “It’s just... It’s just I’m not over what happened last time... If I hadn’t come when I did, you would have died... I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself for that. I’d die if anything happened to you.”
Bela’s grip on you only tightens when you finish your sad ramble. This gets you in tears. You really couldn’t imagine the rest of your life without her.
“You’d die... For me?” She asks
“Of course I would love,” You smile, swooping her into your arms
Fortunately, your blue flames weren’t ignited enough to accidentally burn her. Your foreheads touch as you give her a kiss
“This is so much better,” Bela sighs in relief
“It really is,” You smile, “Thank you Bela.”
She kisses your forehead. You lay your head against her shoulder, hoping you could just stay like that for a little bit longer.
“Bela?” You ask, breaking the silence
“What is it my love?” She asks
“If this man... If this man scurries around the castle and hurts any of you,” You start, “What if I lose control of my demon form and I no longer see the human in me?”
“Simple, I‘ll get you out,” She answers
“What if you can’t?” You ask, worried now, “What if I’m the one who ends up hurting you?”
“Can you promise me one thing then?” She asks
You nod.
“The don’t use your full demon form,” She requests, “If you’re worried about hurting us, don’t use it. Should you though, I will pull you out.”
You had wished you were able to stay like that forever. However, you knew you had to begin your task. You and Bela give each other one last kiss before departing each others’ presence and embrace. Bela goes back down to the foyer to meet her sisters once more.
“You two okay?” Daniela asks, breaking the silence
“We are fine Daniela,” Bela answers
“Then when will the both of you just shut up and get married?!” Cassandra asks, clearly teasing Bela now
“We are not-we don’t plan on that yet,” Bela says, “It’s never come up when we talk and we don’t need to yet.”
“Sure,” Daniela teases
As you were scouting the grounds of the castle, you already see Alcina returning to the castle.
“My lady!” You call out, “I’m assuming it didn’t go well?”
“Mother Miranda gave that man-thing to Heisenberg, of course I’m upset!” She groans in frustration, “I need a drink.”
You follow her back into the castle where her daughters immediately stand to greet her.
“Where’s the male foreigner?” Bela asks
“Mother Miranda gave him to Heisenberg that fool,” She groans
You all watch her walk up the stairs and disappear into the castle. You four seat back down into the couch, Bela leaning into your embrace.
“How was scouting O-great demon king?” Daniela teases
“It was fine Dani,” you chuckle, “Are you just going to continuously make nicknames for me Dani?”
She nods as she leans back into the chair. However, before any of you could converse on, you could hear footsteps. You motion for the girls to stop talking.
“You guys hear that too?” You whisper
You motion for the three of them to follow you and once you get to the grand entrance of the castle, you see a man.
“Looking for Rose?” Daniela calls out to him, taunting him
The three of them begin forming into their fly swarm and move toward him. You make the decision to tell Alcina herself that a man has entered the castle.
“My lady, there is a man in the castle,” You sigh, “Your daughters are on the case. I’m not sure who he is- oh, speak of the devil, here they are.”
You hear the doors burst open along with struggled grunts. You look over and notice Cassandra and Bela dragging him in.
“Mother, I bring you fresh prey,” She says, trying to take the credit
“Oh, you are so kind to me daughters,” Alcina smiles, her daughters letting a slight giggle out of their mouths, “Now, let’s take a look at him.”
She stands up and faces him, “Well, well, Ethan Winters. You’ve escaped my little brothers’ idiot games did you? Let’s see how special you are.”
You watch Bela, Daniela and Alcina taste his blood. You stand next to Cassandra as you watch.
“Hey-Hey you, help me out!” Ethan pleas at you
You turn to look at him for a second. You feel your human willing to help him however, you end up turning your back to him, not willing to help him. If anything, you also hated men.
“Starting to go a little stale,” Alcina says, “But, I must inform Mother Miranda. Later, there will be enough for everyone. Put him up.”
You watch again as Bela and Daniela hook his hands and Cassandra hoists him up. You hear him groan in pain as you all begin making your exit.
“Hey... Hey you!” He again calls for you, “Help me... Please...”
You stop in your tracks and look up at him. You only let out a low chuckle as Bela gently grabs your wrist and pulls you out from the room.
As you were finishing something with Cassandra you suddenly hear Bela’s grunts.
“Hey, I gotta go,” You say out of the blue
You follow Bela’s voice, rushing even further when you could hear her voice getting louder and louder.
“Bela! Bela!” You call out for her
You pass through the kitchen and notice Bela on top of Ethan. However, she doesn’t notice how he’s aiming his gun. Only you had noticed.
“Bela! The windows!” You scream, “He’s gonna shoot the windows!”
Believing that she didn’t hear you, you ignite your flames even more so than earlier. But, it’s concentrated to your palms. You begin melting the bars that had separated from you reaching Bela. However, just before the glass had gave way to the heavy damage, the bars melted enough for you to burst through. You hear Bela’s pained scream as the glass gave way to the heavy damage.
“You- stupid man-thing!” Bela screams
You only pictured how she was the last time she was out in the cold. You let out an ear-piercing roar as you forcefully push Ethan out of the way to get to Bela. Igniting your flames ever so slightly, you pick Bela up and begin warming her up with your flames and your natural body heat. You go back into the dungeons and place her down gently, hoping you had warmed her enough.
“Are you okay?!” You ask, tears welling into your eyes
“I am now love,” She smiles, caressing your cheek
“Go!” You say, “Get your sisters an get somewhere safe! He knows! I’ll come find you.”
You watch Bela disappear into the dungeons, hopefully back into the castle to warn her sisters. You go back to where Ethan had shot the window. He was hoping you’d feel pain with the cold however, when you emerged from the cold wind, you came out, unphased.
“What the HELL ARE YOU?!” Ethan asks
“The one who will kill you,” You growl, taking in the cold, “My blood’s boiling...”
Your blue flame continue to ignite more than usual and you pounce onto him, snarling in his face. He tries to use his shotgun on you and he manages to graze the side of your head. He manages to wriggle himself out of your grip and shoots at you again, this time, in the shoulder.
“Stay down kid,” He says mercilessly and runs into the direction you came
“Get back here you coward!” You scream, trying to stand
As your body began regenerating, you continuously crawled in the direction he was going in, beginning to track his scent. It was difficult as you were in the room where the wines are created. However, it didn’t stop you from continuing on the path. When you fully regenerated your shoulder, you get up nd try to track his scent as best as you could. However, when you only got back into the castle.
“Bela!” you call
You felt a hand on your wrist as you begin getting pulled into a room. A feeling of relief washes over you as you hug Bela tightly. You look over her shoulder and only see Cassandra with her.
“Where’s Daniela?” You ask, in a panicked state
“She ran off, hoping to take down the man herself,” Cassandra sighs
You hear the door burst open and it’s Alcina.
“That man will pay for what he’s done,” She growls, “My daughter are you hurt?”
“I was but- thanks to Hydrangea,” Bela sighs in relief, leaning into your shoulder to warm up some more
“Where’s Daniela?” Alcina asks
“She went to the library to take down the man mother, we tried to stop her,” Cassandra sighs
“You two stay with Hydrangea until I return with his head and Daniela,” Alcina orders before leaving again
She makes her leave. The three of you sit on the couch, Cassandra and Bela huddling against you for warmth. However, Bela practically seating herself into your lap.
“Do you have to be such a hog of the human furnace?” Cassandra looks at her older sister in annoyance
“I’m her girlfriend so buzz off,” Bela says
“She may be your girlfriend but I need some warmth too,” Cassandra growls
You could hear Daniela’s pained grunts and screaming. You stand up and place Bela down onto the couch next to her sister. You flick your finger and a small flame goes into the fire place, igniting the firewood.
“Alcina hasn’t found her yet,” You say, “I’ll go get Daniela the both of you stay here okay?”
Once you left the room you break into a run towards the library. You break through the door just as Ethan begins opening the roof to let in the cold air again.
“STOP!” You scream, grabbing onto Daniela
Sorry Bela... I have to do this... To protect all of you. You four accepted me almost instantly... I have to protect my home. I’m not letting anyone die here! The only one dying is him....
The ground around you became engulfed in blue flames, surrounding both you and Daniela
Tumblr media
[A/n: not my gif]
“I got you Dani,” You say, the last time you heard your own voice
You look at Ethan completely deranged, more than Cassandra could ever look deranged at one of her “pets”. Ethan begins to walk backward however, tripping over an object.
“Let’s talk about this kid!” Ethan pleas, “From one human to another-”
“I’m not a human!” You spat, your demon voice overtaking your real voice, “I’m a demon! I protect my home and everyone in it!”
You let go of Daniela and leave her on the floor for Alcina to check on her. You throw Ethan out of the library. Alcina takes Daniela to where her other two daughters were. You throw him down a set of stairs. Coincidentally where Bela had opened the door.
You stand at the top of the stairs, looking down at Ethan, “You’ve overstayed your welcome... Time to say goodnight.”
“No-No please I beg you please I just wanted to find my daughter!” He screams
“All of this? For a child who isn’t even here?!” You mock him, “Your little baby could even be dead for all I care!”
Ethan draws his gun and pulls the trigger as a last resort to get you to stand down. However, you slice his arm off. You could hear his screams of pain as you now stand over him.
From the other room, Bela, Daniela, Alcina and Cassandra watch as you begin devouring his flesh. You stop after two bites out of his flesh you turn to the four women. Unable to feel your human, instead feeling your demon take full control over your body, you charge at Cassandra, Daniela, Alcina, even Bela. Alcina, being the protective mother she is, stands in front of her daughters, ready to slaughter you so if you lay a finger on her daughters like this. However, Bela runs past the three.
“Bela, get back here!” Alcina yells
Before you could lay a finger on them, Bela throws her arms around you, holding onto you tightly. As you flail your arms about, Bela still held onto you
“It’s me,” Bela says, calmly, “It’s okay now... I’m right here. Come back to me...”
You finally stopped flailing, your blue flames dissipating and your demon eye slits turning back into their round pupils.
“Be..la?” You call
You gently place your hand on her head and the other around her. You sink into her touch and fall to your knees, Bela following your movements.
“It’s okay now,” She coos, “I’ve got you love. I’ve got you.”
You choke on your sobs as you hold onto Bela for dear life, sobbing into her shoulder.
“Bela did manage to get you out after all?” Alcina admires her oldest daughter, “And I thought I was going to have to kill her.”
Alcina sips her wine.
“Mother!” Bela growls
“I need to protect my prides and joys,” Alcina states
Bela was sitting in your lap as Daniela is huddled against your side and Cassandra on the floor facing you, Bela and Daniela.
“Do you really have to hog to the human furnace Bela? I’m the one who almost died,” Daniela growls
“She’s my girlfriend,” Bela draws the ‘girlfriend’ card for the millionth time
“How long do you intend on pulling that card against us Bela?” Cassandra asks
“As long as I want,” She smiles down at you
You smile back up at her, “Daniela, I also warmed you up in almost an instant with that amount of flames I emitted earlier. Did that not help?”
“Oh it did,” She smiles
“Then you don’t need to be complaining,” Bela scoffs
“By the way, I am digging the new look on you Hydrangea,” Cassandra says, smiling at you
Black horns with bright blue accents had remained from your blue flame horns or at least under them and a tail remained.
“Do you now Cass?” You smile, “I do too.”
Your tail unconsciously wraps itself around Bela’s waist. You could feel Bela’s fingertips playing with the fluff end of your tail, making your cheeks flush a faint pink.
“Awwww micul meu demon is blushing,” Bela teases
“Ssshut it,” You hiss
You weren’t sure how well you were going to do with that man-thing called Ethan Winters roaming around the castle. However, this was your home. You went to great lengths to protect it. Especially your new family and your girlfriend. Even if you would lose your human, you had Bela. You trust her enough to bring you back, should you lose sight of that human in you.

I looked at her as she ran in. She interupted the meeting and she pulls out a shotgun and starts shooting at me and Dimitrescu. She realized her bullets were not working and she glared making a made dash to grab the mortal and she was able to fight off Lycan with ease. I watched as she flawless moved with ease and then I had to pin her down as she got the mortal free of the handcuffs.  How I did not know but she has spark my interest.
"Sees we have another human." Mother Miranda. "How about a game?"
"A game?" Dimitrescu asks.
"Yes the two will be released and you both will go after them. You may go after one or the other. First one to get their hands on the one they want they get to see what happens to them. You may have a moment to look at the prey." She tells us.
I smirked and knew I did not care who I get but I wanted to see this girl. I look down at her under me and my heart stopped. She was stunning. Her (Eye color) eyes glaring at me with such fire. I wanted her, no I NEEDED Her.
"It is time." Mother Miranda says.
The mortal and her were let loose and she took his hand in hers. I snarled at that! HOW DARE HE TOUCH HER!!! She Is MINE Not HIS to Touch!
Once we are allowed to go in I am hunting her down. She Is running with that worthless man! I hated it. I use my powers to impale him. She screamed.

SERIES MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
It’s the middle of the night as you sneak out from the backside of the dingy motel you and Ethan chose to hide for two days before catching a bus to Virginia. You were headed to the NY port bus terminus as you cautiously walked through the dimly lit alleyway. Both of you carrying a duffel bag in your hand as you briskly walk down to the main street.
"Ethan come on'' you whisper yell looking back to your boyfriend who was walking right behind you with whom you have planned to elope and start a new life away from your father's clutches who happens to be the mafia king of Northeast United States and wants to forcefully marry you off to another mobster of Europe to expand his territory and grab hold on their turf.
"Y/N are you sure your dad will not find us trying to flee right under his nose?" Ethan asks nervously. You smile softly as you put down your bag. Your hands reach up to his face cupping it gently.
"Don't you worry honey. I have a friend over there who has made all the necessary arrangements. In a few hours we will be in our paradise far from all of this. Just you and me, baby."
"But what if your dad already knows about us and sent his men to kill me."
"By the time daddy will come to know about us running away he will have nothing to do. He has no power in the southern states so we will be safe." You press your forehead on to his before stepping away from him and are about to turn around to resume walking but then the inevitable happens.
BANG! a gunshot was fired from a near distance.
You flinched at the deafening sound and felt something graze past you as some viscous liquid splattered on your face. You run your hand through your face to find blood stains and look at Ethan with horror in your eyes, a bullet has punched it's way right through his chest causing a hole in its wake as blood oozed out, his white shirt slowly turning scarlet red.
"Ethan!! oh my god!!" you gasped and rushed to him. Ethan felt dizzy, his vision going blurry as his body began to collapse. You quickly hold on to his weight slowly crouching down to kneel on the pavement placing his head on your lap.
"No! No! No, This can't happen!" You didn’t know what to do as you franctically pressed your hands together on the wound on his chest trying to stop the bleeding, tears running down your cheeks.
"Mija" your throat went dry at the deep voice. You turned your head to find your father standing all tall and powerful, face expressionless with his hands stuffed inside his pockets and right by his side is your step brother Julian. In no time his hunch men surrounded the area.
"Daddy he's dying do something please." you sobbed.
"You shouldn't have tried to run away Mija or else poor Ethan would have been alive to see tomorrow's daylight."
"C'mon now get up." He reached out his hand to you.
"What? No! Daddy please help him. He'll die. I'll do whatever you say, marry whoever you want but please save him." You begged him as fat tears rolled down your cheeks.
"It's too late for that Mija. You should have known well that after your engagement you are just a safe-keeping of the Holland's for us. Son-in-law is really upset with your behavior. He is the one who helped us track you down."
"Jules at least you try to understand." You turned to your step brother in despair.
"Enough sister we have to go, we don't want the whole NYPD chasing us for a petty collateral damage." he says sternly.
"You already are a big disgrace to the family. Thankfully my step brother-in-law is very generous to accept you even after all this."
"No I'm not going with you anywhere, either you shoot me like him or else I'll do it myself." You scrambled up back on your feet and with a swift move snatched the gun from the holster of one of his men standing near you. You pointed the gun to  your head holding onto the trigger.
"Y/N Martinez enough is enough! Drop the gun now!" your father commands agitated.
"No!" you shakily press the trigger a little more as tears pricked your eyes.
"You'll not do that Y/N." your father warns again.
"Oh hell I'll do if I don't get to live with the love of my life then you will not get what you want." you spat trembling in rage.
"Y/N no.. No" Ethan croaked in pain, the angry demeanor you had softened at his voice.
"Ethan, honey.. " you dropped to your feet kneeling beside his weak body.
"if you die then I die too." You sniffled. Ethan threaded his fingers to yours.
"No, Y/N you - you have to live. For me. Promise me."
"No" you whimper.
"Promise me Y/N, this-this is my last wish" He took large gulps of air while he spoke. You screwed your eyes shut feeling helpless at the given moment.
"I-I promise Ethan." Your voice quivered.
"I love you Y/N.." he smiled weakly as his voice trailed off as it was becoming difficult for him to breathe.
"I love you too baby." You sniffled. Ethan's eyes were droopy as he struggled to stay awake. He was barely breathing.
"No, no Ethan, stay with me please." you clutched onto his hand desperately. He swallowed his last breath of air before succumbing to eternal sleep in your arms.
"Ethan?" you shake his lifeless body. "Ethan wake up!!" all was in vain as Ethan's limp body lay on the pavement.
"Ethaaan!!!" you wail.
"Take care of the body. I need to handle my ever rebellious daughter." your father ordered.
"Okay boss." one of his capos obliged.
"Now c'mon and let's get you prepared for your husband." your father grabbed on to your arm.
"No,no,no" you try to grasp onto Ethan's lifeless body. Your father ripped you apart from his body forcing you to stand up on your feet.
"It's your last week with us anyway, spend some time with your mother, make some happy memories, she will miss her only daughter the most."
"Happy memories?! You took every ounce of happiness from my life, you are a monster! You all are! I hate you!" you screamed struggling hard to free yourself from your father's firm grip.
"One day you'll know everything your daddy did was for your own good. So stop fighting and do as you are told like a good girl" Your father and brother Julian dragged you to the car. You were a walking dead when you reached your home which seemed a prison to you now. Your mother came rushing to you.
"Oh sweetie you're safe. Thank god I was so worried." she wrapped her arms around you in a hug.
"Mom.. Ethan.. He's gone." You broke down in her arms.
"It's ok sweetie. Don't worry everything will be fine. You are my strong girl I know you will get through this" she cradled your face pecking your forehead trying to console you.
"Ask your daughter to stop acting like a brat and learn how to be a good wife to her future husband and tend to his needs. Don't want the Holland's point fingers at us saying we didn't raise our daughter right."
"Why did you do this Victor?"
"After so many years are you questioning your husband Rosette?"
"No, I'm questioning a father and how could he do this to his only daughter?"
"She brought it upon herself." your mother was about to say something but was cut off by your father.
"No! I don't want to hear anything more about this. Just do what I said." he says sternly.
******
"The Martínez's will arrive in a week, start making all the necessary arrangements."
"Once the deal is done you will be taking over our family business son are you ready to sit on this throne?" The senior Holland asks his eldest son Tom in the presence of his younger twin sons Harry and Sam and Tom’s future consigliere and best friend Harrison as he stood in the middle of the spacious conference room patting on the big leather chair placed right in the middle of the wooden round table from where he has been running this empire all these years commanding men to do all his dirty work and sealing fate of people who didn’t comply by his wishes.
"Always ready dad." Tom stood tall.
"I know you are, my son. This is the day I have been waiting for all my life."
"Okay now enjoy your last few days of freedom of a bachelor before you are a married man." he pats his shoulder proudly and was about to leave the room but turned to him again.
"One more thing you need to keep a tighter hold on your woman from now on Tom. Her carefree days are over, she needs to be made aware of her responsibilities including giving the family an heir."
"Yes dad."
As his father leaves with the twins Tom slumps down on one of the chairs with Harrison beside him. He lets out a long sigh taking out his phone.
The first thing he does is open your Instagram page and go through your pictures which has turned out to be a habit for him for the last three years. Harrison was sitting beside him as he saw your pictures too. Some were with your college friends, some you attending one of your dad's galas in the prettiest designer dresses and some bikini clad sunkissed aesthetic pictures of you on vacation on some exotic island. Tom thought you looked unearthly in every picture but his mood would go sour seeing the comments below of several guys objectifying your body. He felt like hunting them down and chopping off their fingers with which they typed such lewd comments.
Though he himself wasn’t a man of high morals either drinking, gambling, bringing in girls every night in spite of being engaged to you though each night he wished it was you on his bed, not some random hooker he picked up from the bar. He is well aware that you don’t like him and despise this whole marriage. But he has nothing to worry anymore now because in a few days you are going to be his for lifetime. And he is confident that he will win you over eventually.
"I see why you are hell bent to marry her, she's a siren." Harrison remarked snarkly, breaking Tom from his thoughts.
"Hopefully she sounds like one too" Tom chuckles.
"But you really want to spend the rest of your life with her? She doesn't seem to be the one to follow rules."
"She's always been a wild horse since childhood that is why I like her even more and trust me wild horses are more fun to tame Haz. I can assure you in no time she'll be roaming around like a puppy around me."
"And how do you know you'll be able to tame a headstrong girl like her?"
"That will not be an issue because once I make sure that my child is inside her she will have nothing to do." He smirks. "Motherly instincts, you know how that works. After all, she's a woman. How much ever she hates me she will never separate her child from his father."
"And once I will have her father removed from the picture and taken over their empire she will have nowhere to go."
"You know she'll hate you more than she already does after you kill her father."
"Her father is no less than a monster. I will be doing her a favor actually." Tom once again glances at a portrait picture of you.
"Princess your kingdom eagerly awaits your arrival." he mutters to himself with a smug grin on his face.

***
Y/n Hale was not happy when she heard that her big brother had been abducted by Kate Argent. She wasn’t happy when her pack prohibited from going with them and then came back with Derek being her age. She was not happy when Scott yelled at her in the middle of the night practically ordering her to get her up from the bed from the room next to hers —when Derek left, he had made amendments with Melissa McCall, and the nurse was now in charge of her whenever the older Hale disappeared, resulting on the teenage girl living almost permanently with the True Alpha and his mother, (something about her not missing her education or some shit that made her roll her eyes when he explained it to her) and Y/n had to admit, she was more than happy to stay with the McCalls—, because he had bitten a boy and then kidnapped him. She was not happy when a dead pool appeared with her name on it next to the number 12, indicating how many millions her head cost. She was not happy when Liam lost all control because of some dude whose name they hadn’t told her yet.
To sum up, over the past few weeks, many things had happened that had infuriated the youngest Hale, almost making her lose control. The young she-wolf was grumbling under her breath next to Stiles and Scott. The alpha was venting to the two about how he wasn’t sure if Liam playing was safe with Garret on the field.
“Scott, Wolfie, I’ve told you a thousand times” Y/n sighed “I can take him down whenever you want, just say the word”
“And we’ve told you a thousand times that you are not taking anyone down tonight. So stay here and don’t get into trouble, missy” Stiles pointed at her with his index, acting like the big brother he had become over the time he had known the green eyed girl “I’m gonna go call Lydia to see how she’s doing with the second half of the list. You stay here, listen to Scott and be good, alright?”
“First of all, I’m not five, Stiles. And second of all, it’s not like I have much of a choice, Scott is my alpha”
“Right.” he pursed his lips, and looked at her for a moment “Alright, be right back, you be good” he repeated, kissing the top of her head.
Y/n huffed, rolling her eyes and waving goodbye at her honorary brother, leaving her with her other honorary brother. Who soon ditched her for her honorary soft sister.
She liked to think of the pack as a family, her family. After her biological one broke and Peter was revealed to be the murderer of her oldest sister, and then Cora went back to South America, the McCall pack was all she had left, along with her actual brother. And that included Noah Stilinski, Melissa McCall —who was basically her mother now— and Chris Argent. She had admitted the twins too when they were left as omegas, but after Aiden’s death, Ethan left somewhere, as did Isaac because of Allison’s. She missed the four of them terribly, Isaac had been her favorite out of her brother’s betas, and Allison taught her how to fight without transforming. The twins just so happened to be as bad as she was, and she had enjoyed causing trouble with them.
She turned her eyes to the newest addition to the pack, Liam Dunbar. The boy had caused some trouble at first, but N/n believed that everyone with potential caused trouble. Like her. She smiled, getting up to go talk to him and his friend. She may as well make friends with people her age; she had spent her first semester of high school with Juniors, and she hardly knew anybody in her classes. So she got up, not bothering to inform Scott and Kira —they looked like they were on their own little world— and walked over with the dazzling white smile all Hales seemed to have.
“Hey Liam” she chirped, then turned to Liam’s friend “I believe you’re in my history class, right? Matt? Please tell me your name isn’t Matt, I had a terrible experience with one”
“Mason” the dark skinned laughed “And I sit right behind you in history”
“It is so nice to meet you, Mason. I’m Y/n, but you can call me N/n”
“Dude, why didn’t you tell me you were friends with Y/N Hale? How are you friends with her? You’ve been here for three days!” Liam and N/n looked at each other and laughed.
“Scott introduced us. He thought someone my age would help me at the hospital, and that N/n here should talk to people her age” he made up, excluding the fact that they’d actually met while he was tied up to a chair.
“Which is bullshit, by the way. I talk to people my age, and I have friends that are my age. They just don’t know about them”
“Because they don’t exist?” the blonde teased with a smirk.
Liam had joined the pack literally three days before, but Y/n was quick in welcoming people, and the two youngest members hit it off instantly, becoming best friends after one conversation. Bickering with each other was mainly what that friendship was based on.
“They do exist, you little shit” she glared at the beta “And you know what? I came here to wish you good luck out there even though I have absolutely no idea who we’re going against, but honestly, with how you’re treating me I fell zero regrets when I tell you that I hope you do horrible. Now if you’ll excuse me, my new best friend Mason and I have to go find seats to boo you from” the raven haired girl turned around while grabbing Mason’s wrist, who had been laughing at the other two’s playful banter, and started to walk to the benches.
“Oh, come on, N/n!” Liam called laughing “You know I didn’t mean it!” but when the girl didn’t look at him, he started to get worried. He may have known her for three days, but he already knew how scary she could be “You do know that, right? Please don’t kill me in my sleep!” his voice wavered a little in nervousness.
“I’ll think about that, Dunbar. Just watch your back, I know where you live” she winked.
“You’re terrible” Mason shook his head with a smile “I love you” and she burst out laughing.
“I know, I’m amazing. So, who’s the other team?”
“Liam’s old school, Devenford Prep. That’s why he’s so nervous”
“Dev-Prep? Oh, you have got to be kidding me” she huffed.
“Uh… why?”
“Nothing, nothing. I’ve just heard about them, they’re supposed to be really good” she covered while scanning the seats and the other team’s bench.
When her eyes landed on the boy, he was already looking at her with a smirk. He had smelled her, the asshole. She glared at him, and his smirk grew. He knew she was mad at him for not telling her. But then she spied Garret on Beacon Hills’ bench, and the glare turned into a look full of worry. “Shit, he’s not in the first part, what if he’s in one of the other two?” She hastily put her hands into the pockets of her jacket, trying to pull out her phone and mark the beta’s number. She signaled it to him, and he understood immediately; they couldn’t just talk to each other with so many people around, they’d look insane talking to thin air like they were having a conversation.
She put the phone to her ear and ignored Mason’s look of curiosity.
“Surprise, babe!”
“Not now, idiot. This is important. Is Lori with you?”
“Of course she’s with me. She likes to come support her awesome brother-”
“Brett shut up and listen to me” she cut him off, and he did as told when he registered the tone of urgency she had. Mason’s eyes widened he heard the name “Brett” come out of her mouth, looking back and forth between the lacrosse player and her new friend “I can’t explain everything over the phone, but I need you to tell me where Lori’s sitting” she put a hand over her phone and looked at Mason “I am so sorry Mase, but I need to go look over a friend. I hope you don’t mind, and again, I’m so sorry, but this is really important”
“Hey, it’s okay. You look worried so go make sure they’re alright. And don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone about the hot number 28 you’ve got” he finished with a smirk. Y/n chuckled and sent him a smile before getting up and running down the stairs of the seats.
“Did he just call me hot?” although Y/n was concentrated on not tripping, she could picture her boyfriend’s smirk when he said that, and sure enough, there was one on his lips when she looked up “Are you coming here?” he asked, eyes locked on hers.
“Mhm” she answered, running a little to get to him, careful not to be seen by any of the members of her pack or Garret “Okay, listen up. There’s not enough time for me to explain everything to you, and I’m pretty sure if I asked you to sit this game out you’d scoff at me, but,” she started rambling as soon as she got to him. Brett didn’t dare interrupt her “it’s really important that you tell me where Lori is and if there’s anyone else from your pack here”
“Uh… okay, yeah. Lori is over there with Drew, Max, Kenzie and Jackie,” he turned, pointing at some seats where the Hale could spot the five young werewolves “and other than them, I don’t think anyone else came. They had things to do” he turned to the smaller figure next to him “What’s going on, N/n?” he took her trembling hand in his, stroking her knuckles with his thumb.
“I-” she couldn’t even begin to explain when the whistle blew and both teams were called to the field “Shit. Just please be careful, okay?” she told him, pleading with her eyes. He nodded, and placed a quick kiss on her lips before taking his helmet and stick and running out with his teammates.
Y/n sighed and left to go find Lori and the others.
“Hey guys” she slumped on the seat next to Jackie, making all five of them turn to look at her.
“N/n! We were wondering how much it’d take you to figure out that we were the opposing team” Drew chuckled “Kenz won the bet” she gestured to her girlfriend.
Y/n laughed as she watched the others pay the brunette, who was wearing a satisfied smile.
“Thanks for taking so long, N/n”
“Anytime” she chuckled.
[...]
Once again, Y/n was not happy. Turns out, Brett was Garret’s objective, and him and his bitch girlfriend had tried to kill him. Now, she was on the backseat of Stiles’ jeep —that just didn’t seem to be going fast enough for her, even if they were over the speed limit by quite a lot— with a struggling beta laying his head on her lap. She had sent Lori and the others home to warn Satomi as soon as she’d found out.
“I told you to be careful, Talbot. You just can’t listen to me, can you?” she scolded lightly, trying hard not to let the tears in her eyes come down. The boy could only muster a pained smile, eyes shut and fists balled. He was trying hard not to lash out on her.
They got to the animal clinic, and Stiles helped her carry him, but as soon as they got in, Brett lost control. It took a surprise punch of Peter to knock him out.
“What was that for?! I almost got him!” Y/n turned around to face her uncle, eyes glowing gold in fury.
“You almost got him?” he scoffed in disbelief “He was this close to slashing you in half. I can’t have that happening to my favorite niece, can I?”
“Fuck you, Peter”
[...]
The next day, Derek woke his sister up from her nap, saying they were going to take a stroll around the woods. After half an hour of walking next to him and talking about meaningless stuff she finally stopped.
“Okay, that’s it. You’re looking for something, and I’ll help you find it if you tell me what it is. But first, you need to tell me since when you’ve been losing your werewolfness”
“I haven’t been losing my “werewolfness”, N/n” he rolled his eyes, that were identic to hers. In fact, the two siblings were incredibly alike, they could’ve passed as twins if they were the same age.
“That’s bullshit Der. I don’t even have to listen to your heartbeat to know that. So how long?” he sighed.
“Since Mexico. Lost my eyes first, then my strength, and now I can barely smell anything. Soon I won’t have my hearing either”
“Fuck. That’s alright, I’ll look into it, find out what it means. I’ll figure it out, and in the meantime, I’ll call Braeden and ask her to help you learn how to fight without super strength. She owes me, so that won’t be a problem” she said, starting to panic.
“Hey, hey, N/n look at me” Derek held her by the shoulders and made her look at him. He had the soft smile that had been reserved for her since they moved to New York with Laura “I’m going to be okay. I promise you. Alright?” he stroked both her cheeks with his thumbs, and smiled bigger when she shakily nodded “Alright. Now, help me find Satomi”
“We’ve been walking around to find Satomi? Dude, you could’ve said it earlier! We’re going in the opposite direction! Jesus.”
“How do you know where it is?” he asked, a small smirk tugging at the end of his lips “Does it have to do with that beta that we helped?”
“Shut up. It’s not like you can talk. Braeden, huh?” she eyed him, and for the first time in a while, she saw her big brother blush slightly “I like her” she nodded approvingly “She’s a badass. And after your last relationship anything would be an upgrade, but jeez bro. If she wasn’t straight and y’know, your age, I’d try to take her from you” she exclaimed, making Derek laugh at her antics.
“Yeah, yeah. But seriously, is he your boyfriend or something?” he put his serious face on “‘Cause if he is, I need to have a talk with him”
“Derek, honey, you’re not gonna scare him off, he’s been raised by Satomi. Unlike you, I went to visit her when we came back, and I met him. He’s great, and I really like him. I didn’t know how to tell you guys that I’ve been dating someone for the past nine months” she looked down at her hands “He was there for me when Ally and Aiden died, you know? I showed up at his house in the middle of the night, and Satomi took me to his room. He didn’t ask anything, he just held me, told me he got me and that everything was going to be okay. Ally wanted to meet him, she found me coming out of the woods with a stupid smile once, looked behind me and saw Brett standing there. She squealed right there” Y/n chuckled at the memory “She was the only one that knew. I promised her that after the Nogitsune I’d take her to meet him. That never came. Instead, Brett decided to come with me to the cemetery, and introduce himself to her as my boyfriend. That was the first time he called himself that in front of someone that wasn’t of his pack or someone flirting with me”
Derek looked at his sister intently, and he couldn’t help but think of himself. She reminded him of how he talked about Paige, how her eyes brightened up even when she was talking about Allison, just because she was focused on the werewolf. He nodded.
“He seems like a nice guy. You look like you really love him” he chuckled when Y/n's head shot up, cheeks flaring.
“I uh- I haven’t really told him that I do yet” she admitted shyly, something unusual of her.
“You should. Don’t wait too much, even if you’re afraid. I’m pretty sure you’ve turned into his anchor” he told her with a smile “Yesterday, he was about to attack me until you called his name. His eyes flashed back to normal just before Peter punched him”
“I will. Come on, the pack should be just- here. Oh my God” dead bodies all over the floor. People she knew were laying lifeless, blood dripping down their faces “Brett! Brett! Lori! Satomi! Someone!” she took her phone out, calling her boyfriend, and stressed more when he didn’t answer “Shit!”
And for the millionth time in that month, the youngest Hale wasn’t happy. She was worried sick about her boyfriend and his pack. She needed to know they were okay. Fortunately, she found out there were survivors, waiting for her. Needless to say she rushed there as soon as she heard their whereabouts come out from Satomi’s voice, leaving a Derek Hale to run after her, trying to convince her everything would be okay.
“Lori!” she sighed in relief, pulling her, and any other member she could get her hands on into a hug “Thank God, you guys okay. How are you feeling? Stupid question, c’mere” she rambled, taking Jackie’s figure into her arms as well. The poor girl had tear stains on her cheeks, and she broke down again in the embrace “I know, sweetie, I know. I promise you, it’ll get better eventually, okay?” she felt the petite girl nod into her neck.
She scanned the room, looking at the scared werewolves. Her brother was talking to Satomi, the alpha looked like she had a lot going on, but kept it together for the sake of her pack. She smiled at the woman, and she nodded at her with a smile of her own, appreciating that she was there.
“N/n” she turned around, meeting Max’s bloodshot eyes “I’ll take her. Go find Brett” she nodded, carefully passing Jackie to the Asian boy, she put her hand on his shoulder, hugging his side and left.
She found Brett in a slightly secluded corner. She sat down next to him, not saying a word. She waited for him to wrap his arms around her, letting him take his time, and she placed hers around him too. He completely broke down in seconds, muffled sobs coming out of his mouth.
“I’ve got you baby. I’m here” she told him softly, running her fingers through his curls and placing kisses on his head “I’m not going anywhere, I promise. It’s gonna be okay”
They sat there, holding onto each other for dear life, shedding tears until they both fell asleep. They woke up still in each other’s arms, tear stains on their cheeks and hearts broken.
[...]
A couple of weeks later, on the day of the bonfire, Y/n was sitting with Liam and Mason, feeling tipsy and not really knowing what was going around her. She found Malia next to her and smiling wide she threw herself onto her.
“Cousin! How are you? It’s weird, I never thought Peter would have kids, y’know?” she slurred, dopey smile still on her lips. Malia listened and nodded to her words “But here you are! I’m so glad you’re here, Lia”
“Me too, N/n. Let’s go dance!” she exclaimed laughing.
But they couldn’t, because some dudes appeared out of nowhere and took them both forcefully inside the school.
“Hey dude! Careful where you put those hands! I have a boyfriend and a big brother with a badass girlfriend, and so many more friends that’s kick your ass. Scotty here will when he’s sober. Right, Wolfie?” but the man didn’t listen, and threw her next to Liam and covered them in gasoline “Hey, Cub. How you doin’?”
Suddenly, the door opened, and Derek and Braeden walked in kicking ass. The music stopped, and Y/n had the feeling she’d been hammered.
“Thank God I can’t get drunk. How do people deal with hangovers?” she asked Braeden as she helped her. The woman chuckled “Thanks, Brae”
“No problem, kiddo. Heard you think I’m hot” she smirked.
“I stand by what I said. You seen yourself? Damn, girl.” she laughed, then looked down at the guys that were previously holding her and her family “Hey asshat. Told you what would happened, you didn’t listen. Idiot” she kicked one’s head.
“Let’s get you home, N/n. You stink” Derek scrunched his nose, arching a brow at the girl’s middle finger, unimpressed.
“Actually… I don’t think we have time to take a quick shower” Scott said, hanging his phone “We need to go to Deaton’s. It’s Satomi’s pack”
Scott didn’t need to say anything else, Y/n was already heading out the doors. She’d get to the animal clinic even if she had to walk. Luckily, her brother’s girlfriend had a car. In ten minutes all of them except Malia were at the clinic and getting out of the car. Scott met Kira with a kiss, and Y/n ran past them to get to Brett and Lori, meeting them with a bear hug. She kissed Brett once they pulled away.
“Fuck, you guys. You almost died and you don’t call me? What the heck?”
“Kira said she was calling Scott and that you were with him. That’s not important, what is that smell?” Lori scrunched her nose.
“And what the fuck are you wearing?” Brett growled, looking at the shorts and top that showed her belly and shoulders. He took his jacket off and put it over her “You went to the bonfire like this? You know how many boys and girls have most likely been drooling over you?”
“The same amount of boys and girls that didn’t get any of this” she gestured to herself and winked at her obviously jealous boyfriend “And it’s gasoline. Some assholes tried to burn us alive. Derek showed up with Braeden —his hot, badass, amazing girlfriend I talked to you about— and kicked their asses. It was amazing”
“And you didn’t call me?” Brett mimicked with a teasing smirk “Let’s go get you cleaned”
“Wait. Liam! Come here, let’s get rid of this smell before you go back home”
The blonde boy glared when he saw Brett so close to his best friend, but he walked up to them anyways. The two betas didn’t seem to be very happy about the other’s presence.
“Gosh, get over it” N/n rolled her eyes “You two need to cope with each other. Liam is my best friend and Brett is my boyfriend”
I liked it better when you didn’t know him”
“Oh yeah? Well, I liked it better when I didn’t know this jackass was your boyfriend” Liam answered Brett, matching the taller boy’s glare.
“Boohoo, kiddos. Deal with it”
[...]
An hour later, after N/n was cleaned up and Liam was home, what was left of Satomi’s pack and a few members of the McCall pack stood in Argent’s building. Y/N stood next to her brother and Scott as they studied the hurt werewolves.
“They’re not fighters” Derek stated.
“We know, that’s why I called reinforcements” Y/n told him, not taking her eyes of her hurt boyfriend and his sister. She had been keeping them in sight since Kira told her what happened on the lacrosse field “Chris should be here any minute. I’m just hoping he arrives on time”
Sure enough, not even five minutes later, Chris Argent entered the place and was immediately ambushed by a turned Brett Talbot. Y/n rushed to the hunter’s aid followed by Scott.
“Woah! It’s okay, I called him” she placed her hand on the werewolf’s claw “Brett, put the claws and fangs away”
He did, taking a hold of her hand.
“What do you mean you called him? He’s a hunter!”
“This is his place” Scott explained.
“He’s Allison’s dad” Y/n added, and Brett’s blue orbs softened.
“Sorry” he muttered to the man.
“The hunters are going to be here soon. They’re not gonna stop until they’ve got everybody in that dead pool”
“Then let’s make our own dead pool!” Derek spoke up, giving a speech.
“That’s my brother!" Y/n cheered quietly next to her boyfriend “He was an alpha once, I think the speech thing goes with it” Brett laughed silently, shaking his head.
Scott came by, taking the girl by her arm.
“Hey, can we talk?” he asked softly. He led Y/n to a corner when she nodded “Listen, uh… first of all, I didn’t know you had a boyfriend” the Alpha sent her a look, and she giggled “Which is something I’d like to be notified of, and Stiles’s probably going to flip when you tell him- You’re telling him N/n” he pointed at the teenager girl to hold her back from protesting. But she still got to talk.
“I was going to tell you guys, I swear. But he was meant to meet Allison first and then-” she cut herself short, both pack members looking down. Y/n inhaled “Then she d-died. And Aiden did too, and then Isaac left and I felt like everything around me was falling apart, and then we had to train Malia and-”
“Hey, hey, I was just joking. You could’ve told us whenever you’d felt ready” Scott placed his firm hands on her shoulders, sending her a soothing smile “What I wanted to tell you actually has something to do with her.” he explained, and his little sister placed all her six senses on his words “The last time we had a battle like this, she died. I promised myself no one else would die, and that applies specially to you, okay? I can’t lose you too. You’re my little sister, I can’t go back home and explain Mom that you’re not coming anymore, I can’t wake up and find your room empty and know that the reason behind it is that you’re dead. So please be careful, N/n. I can’t lose my little sister”
Y/n nodded with tears in her eyes, lunging herself at her brother. She hugged him tightly, and he answered with her.
“You better be careful too” she muttered into his shoulder.
Once she felt him nod she let go of him, kissed his cheek and left to find Brett. She found him leaning on a wall.
“Listen, babe. We’re about to go into battle, I want you near me at all times. Or you could go hide with Lori and the others”
“I’m fighting, Brett. Don’t worry, I’ll be fine. But promise me you’ll come back. Don’t you dare die out there, you hear me? I’ve saved your ass too many times not to kill you myself. So don’t let anyone kill you” she kissed him, hoping it wasn’t the last time she did it “And remember that I love you” she whispered against his lips, nagging at her own.
“You do?” he whispered back excitedly as a grin formed on his face. Y/n hummed and nodded “I love you too” he told her as if he was telling her a secret, only to capture her lips with his again.
And then the first gunshot was heard.
[...]
Y/n Hale wasn’t happy when, after the Benefactor was discovered and the dead pool was over, Scott and Kira were kidnapped just before a lacrosse game. She was not happy when her best friend was almost killed by her boyfriend on that game. She was not happy when, hours later, that same best friend tried to tear her down to shreds on the back of a Federal Police Department’s van. She was not happy when her big brother was stabbed several times by a berserker and he told her to leave him there —in fact, she’d been a mess for the next few minutes until another berserker had attacked them. She was not happy —furious, actually— when her dearest uncle proved to be the monster everyone thought he was.
But in the end, everything worked out. Her brother came back to life —evolved and everything— and even if he left again, he promised he’d be back soon. Kira and Scott were back with them again; Liam was slowly but surely gaining control; and most importantly, it was summer.
Summer holidays was all Y/n had been waiting for since the beginning of the school year. Brett and her had decided to go on a road trip across the California coast, so they had taken a van, a map, money, they’d packed some bags, and off they were.
Currently, the couple laid on top of the van. It was a hot night, but Y/n still had her boyfriend’s jacket wrapped around her as she rested her head on his chest. She listened to him talk about the constellations that they could see, pointing at the stars and tracing imaginary lines that connected them. The raven haired girl sighed contently, smiling up adoringly at the blonde boy next to her. He looked so into what he was telling her, Y/n swore right then and there he could’ve been talking about why he thought two plus two were three, she could’ve laid there forever and see his face lit up the way it was doing.
“I love you” she interrupted him abruptly. He looked at her with her eyebrows furrowed in confusion “Sorry, it just came out. Continue” Brett smiled sweetly, pecking her lips.
“I love you too” he chuckled, and then turned to look back up at the night sky.
Y/n Hale was finally happy.

Old Friend
deucalion x reader
“(Y/N)?” Rafael’s voice crackled on the other end of the phone. “McCall?” “I need your help.” Sirens whirled in the background. “You what?” “There’s a hunting problem.” That cleared absolutely nothing up. “I’m an author, not a cop, McCall.” “At the shipyard,” he continued, as though he hadn’t heard you. “Remember I told you about the Hale attack?” “McCall,” you heard, muffled, on the other end of the phone. “Name’s a little too close to home, ain’t it, Ferrell?” “Please.” The line went dead. “Hale attack? That was a fire.” Your heart plummeted in your chest. “Hunters.” You scrambled for the door, not even bothering to lock it as you ran. You’d heard about them coming, heard about the new pack, the True Alpha. Hell, you’d even helped once or twice, when Melissa or Argent called you in. But you hadn’t made the connection between McCall and Scott McCall, the tiny, chubby little kid you’d looked after while his mom worked.
Guns were already firing when you reached the shipyard, and someone was crawling for cover. Or, trying too. He was far too old to be Scott, even as his eyes flashed red, claws extending to drag him across the ground. Three teenagers were scattered around the yard, another man crouched behind a steel beam. You waited, as the Hunters moved forward. Then the barrage ceased, though they kept their guns raised. You launched forward, then, and cut off three from the back with ease. You grabbed a fourth by the throat and tossed him into another, finally drawing their attention to you, as you managed to grab the wounded wolf and bolt in their confusion. “Made a new friend, Scott?” That voice sent chills down your spine, blood-soaked memories clawing their way from the pit of your mind. Your parents – human parents, dead on the floor, just for protecting you. “Just in time to bury them.” You swept through the group to the woman speaking, throwing her to the ground. She spun to look at you, as she landed, but you were already moving, surging towards her. Through the corner of your eye, you caught sight of one of her hunters moving towards the stone column, where Scott was crouched, and you changed courses, knowing you wouldn’t get there in time. Then an engine revved, and suddenly there was a Jeep spearing into the shipyards and the Hunter went flying from the impact. You felt a bullet shatter your shoulder and growled, turning back towards Monroe as two new faces joined the fight. She glanced at you, then behind her, and took off for her car, her men following behind her. Half of you wanted to go after her, but Scott needed you more than you needed revenge. Scott’s pack soon grouped up around where he was struggling, vainly, to stem the blood flow of the wounded man. You pushed him aside, lightly, kneeling in his place. The man ignored you, still focused on Scott. Something about Gerard and knowing he couldn’t win. His breath cut off. “It’s really started, hasn’t it?” None of them stopped you, but you could feel them staring as you leaned forward, eyes flashing black, as you buried your claws in the back of his neck. “Hey!” The late werewolf – a Hale – grabbed Scott’s arm as he protested. “She’s a Grim,” he breathed, as the man’s flashed open and he gasped for breath. “She just – she just brought him back from the dead, right?” Stiles asked, jaw dropped. “I’m not insane?” “She just brought him back from the dead,” the redhead agreed. “He wasn’t quite dead,” you corrected, immediately darting out of the way as the man swung onto his hands and knees, choking in mouthfuls of air.
“Who – wait, (Y/N)?!” “It’s been a while, pup.” He stared as you rubbed the back of your neck, awkwardly. “Pretty impressive pack you’ve gathered. A handful of Hales, a Banshee, another Alpha…” You glanced at Stiles. “…the Sheriff’s son. Very human, very smart. You’re taking good care of him, right?” You carefully placed your foot on the wounded man’s back as he moved to stand. He swung his head around to glare. “Sorry, but you should stay down there, sir.” “Gonna introduce us, Scott?” the late Hale prompted. “Oh! Yeah, sorry,” Scott gestured between you and the pack, “Everyone, this is (Y/N). She used to babysit me as a kid. I did not know she was supernatural. (Y/N), this is Derek, Peter, Malia, Lydia, and you know Stiles.” You tilted your head, surreptitiously, towards the recovering wolf. “That’s Deucalion.” “He’s who?” you questioned, earning a half-hearted laugh from the man on the ground. “Can I get up, now?” he requested, lightly, his voice still rough around the edges. You hesitated, then offered your hand. “You have to let me help you, though.” He glanced from your hand to your face, then sighed and took it, letting you help him to his feet, supporting his aching body. “Nice to meet you, oh Mr Demon Wolf, Destroyer of Worlds, pep-talker of my favourite kid.” He chuckled, lowly. “Nice to meet you, Miss Death-Defier, Beacon Hills’ Grim, babysitter of the True Alpha.” The others were all staring at you, wide-eyed, when you both looked back at them. “We should leave.” “I want to take him to Deaton,” you added, as they all nodded. He sighed, and you all waited for him to protest. “What?” he challenged, letting you help him towards your car, “I’d rather see the Druid than die.”
The roar echoed through the school, reverberating in your chest – pain, anger, hurt. “Scott?!” Before you could take off, Deucalion grabbed your arm. “You don’t know how to fight it.” “Scott’s hurt!” “He’ll be more hurt if you’re dead.” You sighed, but nodded, mutely. “Let me go ahead.” He offered you his hand. “Unless I squeeze your hand, don’t open your eyes. It knows how to trick us.” “Don’t you need that?” You glanced at his hand, and he offered you a lopsided smirk. “If I do, I’ll just throw you with my punch.” You snorted, but took his hand anyway. “Give me some warning, I’ll even put my claws out and actually make myself useful.”
“Bobby?!” The Coach spun at the sound of your voice. “What the hell are you doing here? Are you hurt?” “Just looking after my players,” he answered, brightly. You raised an eyebrow. “Some asshole thought he could get away with touching my boys outside my office. I mean, sure, Jackson and Ethan aren’t my team anymore, but they’re still –” “Bobby, are they okay?” “What? Of course,” he huffed, folding his arms. “I hit him with a lacrosse stick.” Deucalion raised an eyebrow. “Not all of us have fangs and claws.” Then he paused for a moment. “Hang on, you’re the asshole–“ “Coach?” You heard a clatter in the nearby entrance hall, as Scott appeared, but just surged towards him. Deucalion headed for the noise. Blood still stained around his eyes but he smiled, offering a soft laugh, as you checked him over. “I’m fine.” “You blinded yourself?” Horror coursed through you. “He what?” Bobby demanded. Jackson and Ethan appeared, from the same direction Bobby had come. Ethan did a double take, but Deucalion held up his hands in surrender, and the boy approached, warily. “Coach, why are you here?” Stiles questioned, still entirely bewildered. “He just saved us,” Ethan admitted, making Derek raise an eyebrow. “Malia?” Peter crashed through the doors behind them. “Malia– you’re okay.” The girl in question smiled, brightly, crushing her father into a hug. Peter froze. Derek kicked Stiles before he could snicker. “Coach saved you?” Stiles asked, returning his attention to the boys. “No need for that tone, Stilinski.” “He beat a hunter unconscious with a lacrosse stick,” Jackson explained, and Stiles’ jaw dropped further. “Wait, do you know about this, Coach?” Scott asked, brows furrowed. “Of course I know. That’s my sister fussing over you.” “She’s your what?” “I’m adopted,” you assured the baffled teenagers.
Deucalion cleared his throat, summoning your attention. He held up Monroe by her collar. “She’s still alive.” “You won’t kill me,” she sneered, “McCall won’t let you.” “McCall’s not my Alpha,” Deucalion responded, eyes flashing red. “Yet you still deferred to him.” Deucalion snarled, but looked back to Scott. “This is your territory, Scott.” The boy hesitated. “But it’s a war for all of us.” They hadn’t even seen you moving before her heart dropped to the floor. “(Y/N)?!” “What the hell?!” Deucalion didn’t speak through the teenaged chorus, just discarded the body, unceremoniously, curious gaze fixed on your face. “A woman after my own heart.” Malia elbowed Peter, cutting off his muttering. “Was that her?” A sob tore from your throat at Bobby’s question, raw and ragged, but you nodded. You couldn’t bring yourself to look at your brother, or at Scott, afraid of what you would see there. So you just held Deucalion’s gaze, as if begging him to understand… something. Anything. Even you weren’t sure what. The man was a killer, after all. You didn’t need to justify yourself to him. You could hear Bobby explaining, behind you, but still didn’t dare look back. You flinched when Deucalion finally broke the impasse by taking a step forward, but didn’t move away. He continued forward, slowly, until he had closed the distance between you, a warm hand coming to rest on your shoulder.
“Are you alright?” The question was stiff, awkward, but you couldn’t say you expected any different. Before you even registered what you were doing, you slumped forward, burying your head in his chest. He went stiff for a moment, but you soon felt his arms inch around you, one hand coming to your hair. Your sobs began to fade, breathing falling into sync with the soothing fingers trailing through your hair. “Am I seeing this right– ow, Derek!” A low growl rumbled from Deucalion’s chest, vibrating through your body, and Stiles fell silent. With a shuddering breath, you pulled away and looked up to meet the eyes of the Alpha of Alphas. He raised an eyebrow, but his expression was gentle. “Sorry,” you mumbled. “You just single-handedly destroyed a well-manicured, decades-old reputation.” There was no anger in his voice. “I think you did that when you started practicing pacifism,” Peter drawled, making both Scott and Deucalion glare at him. He shrugged, but didn’t try to take it back. “Can I suggest we leave?” Lydia piped up, quietly. “I don’t know about you, but I could do with a shower.” She looked down at her dust-covered hands, the stains of blood and sweat on her clothes. Murmurs of agreement followed, and you all headed for the doors. “Scott, if you see your father, tell him I’ll be by tomorrow.” Scott raised an eyebrow. “You didn’t think I just magically realised you were about to die, did you?” You didn’t bother listening to their mumbled responses, just made a beeline for your car. “Call me tonight!” Bobby shouted after you. You waved your agreement.

Steve couldn’t have been more wrong on his timeline. The mission, something they thought would only be a couple days, was now going on a week. A week of hunting down an evasive Zemo. It seemed every time they thought they were ahead; he revealed the reality of always being four steps behind.
And it was pissing Bucky off to no end.
“Cool it, Tinhead. I can hear you grinding your teeth.”
Sam’s voice over the comm made Bucky adjust his grip on his gun. He wasn’t just angry anymore. He was furious and bitter. “Shut it, Sam,” he growled out. The hall creaked underneath the weight of his and Steve’s footsteps. He didn’t apologize when Steve gave him a look, simply gesturing for him to walk ahead.
This was the fifth location they had come across. After the third, Bucky was starting to wonder how much of this was a goose chase and if there was actually any potential in finding their target. The two looked down the grimy hall. Lights were busted, mold practically painting the walls, and the other three rooms they checked on this floor were empty. This was the last one. Still, Bucky felt they were at a dead end. This wasn’t the type of place that seemed to be Zemo’s style. He liked comfort.
Bucky and Steve shared a look as Bucky raised his gun, ready to fire at whoever or whatever was on the other side of the door. Steve took a slow breath, calming his nerves before putting all his strength in kicking the door in.
It gave way, splintering and shattering inside the room. Steve, shield in hand, and Bucky ran inside – more than ready to catch Zemo.
But there was nothing. Just an empty room and open window.
Bucky dropped the gun, squeezing his eyes shut. He knew what the next steps were. Search the room, find Zemo’s next clue, keep going. But he didn’t want to. As much as he knew he had a lifetime’s worth of sins to make up for, he couldn’t bring himself to want to keep going. Not anymore. Not with how much had changed.
“Buck?”
Bucky opened his eyes. Now wasn’t the time to mope. He crossed the room, taking note of the quaint furniture and lack of food…It almost looked like no one had been here. However, when he saw what Steve had found, he cursed. A map was hung on the wall with X’s marking every city they had already searched. Zemo was turning it into a game, taunting them, reminding them that he was brilliant. He didn’t have to be found unless he wanted to be.
And already the next city was circled.
“Great. We’r failing so spectacularly that Zemo thinks we need hints,” Bucky spat.
“Where’s the next location, boys?”
Steve glanced at Bucky, knowing his friend wanted to go back to New York. They hadn’t had any contact with the Avengers which meant they also had no contact with Y/N and Andie. But they couldn’t call it quits yet. Not with this guy on the loose. If it was anyone else, Steve would send Bucky home. But Zemo had a soft spot for targeting the Winter Soldier last time. He needed his friend’s knowledge. As much as they both hated it, Bucky was a necessity this time.
“We’re going to figure this out.”
Bucky scoffed, certainly not believing him at this point. Instead, he pressed on the comm, eyes fixated on the map. “Set a course for Rovaniemi, Nat.”
“Finland? What the fuck is he doing there?”
Bucky and Steve shared a look, unable to give her an answer. Truthfully, neither of them had any idea.
Once again, they were left four steps behind.
-.-.-.-.-
Y/N found herself checking her phone again. Still nothing. Bucky had said he’d be gone a couple days and she knew she had no right to be worried. Bucky was just a friend. He was an Avenger. This lifestyle was normal for him. But to not hear anything? Not even Tony knew where they were, but she tried assuring her that this was okay. It was normal.
But it wasn’t. Three weeks with no contact? That wasn’t normal.
Taking a slow breath, she tried to ignore that worried feeling gnawing at her gut. She couldn’t mother an Avenger. She sure as hell didn’t have the strength for that job.
“You look thoughtful.”
Y/N blinked, pulled out of her thoughts when she saw there was a to-go mug in front of her. She looked up at Ciara and smiled, taking the warm beverage. Her best friend took a seat on the table next to her, neither of them in the mood to sit in a chair like normal people. She sipped the warmth, humming when she realized Ciara had surprised her with hot cocoa. “Thanks for this, I needed it.”
“I could tell.” Ciara was never one to push Y/N, understanding that she always needed time to process things. And it wasn’t every day that someone like them dealt with such high levels of stress in and outside of the workplace. “Where’s Andie?”
Y/N nodded and Ciara followed her gaze. There, Andie was playing with two boys. They couldn’t be older than Andie. She was sure one might even be around Andie’s age. “Who are they?”
Y/N didn’t answer, her bitter smile enough of an explanation.
“Are they…”
“Yup.”
Ciara took a drink from her own mug, mumbling a small, “Fuck.”
Y/N laughed. “You got that right.”
“And Bucky hasn’t…?”
Y/N shook her head. “Honestly? I think the only reason Ethan’s made any effort with Andie is because he doesn’t like Bucky being so involved in our lives. As long as he thinks he’s priority, he makes an effort.”
Ciara scoffed. “Sounds like him. Possessive and a dick like always.”
“You met him once,” Y/N reminded her, laughing.
“And I regret it. You know, I will never get those thirty seconds back.”
Y/N chuckled, pressing her palms against her mug in search of warmth. “This is the fifth time she’s seen them since the Aquarium.”
“I didn’t think Ethan wanted her to have a relationship with any of them.”
“He doesn’t.” Y/N sighed softly. “He keeps it short. No longer than two hours. Always some outdoor activity. Leaves little room for talking. I’m honestly not even sure they realize she’s their sister.”
“And you just let him do this?”
She clenched her jaw, body trembling. Whether it was from the cold or her anger, she wasn’t sure anymore. “I have to give her something, Ciara. If I don’t, she’ll think I’m keeping her from them.” She exhaled sharply and if Ciara didn’t know better, she would have mistaken it for a laugh. “He played that conversation so well. It was like we were married all over again. There was nothing I could say or do before he was saying he wanted to get to know her.”
“Well…” Ciara looked at her. “Has he?”
Y/N shrugged. “This is the most they do. Throw a ball around or go to the park. Something where there’s distance. People.”
Ciara looked back at the three kids, noticing Ethan a little ways off. He wasn’t watching his sons or Andie. No, he was watching Y/N, hands in his pockets and jaw set. He looked almost like a predator stalking his prey. “What about her being a mutant?”
“Hasn’t come up.”
“That’s bullshit. It’s part of who she is. How can he just – “
“Andie is smart, Ciara,” Y/N reminded her, finally looking at her. “And the only time she can’t control her powers is when she’s nervous or scared.” Gesturing around them, she asked, “How can she be scared in this environment? It’s always out in the open. I’m always here.”
“He just acts like it doesn’t exist?”
“Simple enough, isn’t it? He still acts like we weren’t even his first family,” she spat, her voice venomous. Y/N looked back at Andie, tucking the mug into her chest. “So imagine how easy it is to act like she’s human when her mutation never makes an appearance.”
Ciara watched her carefully, shifting in her seat and drumming against her drink. “You know you have a say in all of this, right? You could tell him to go to hell.”
“And then tear away Andie’s hope of having a relationship with her half-brothers?” Y/N shook her head. “No, I’m not doing that to her. Besides…” The words felt heavy, tasted wrong on her tongue as she told Ciara, “A girl needs her father.”
“A father figure would be liked, sure, but it isn’t a necessity. Besides – Bucky was looking pretty cozy with you two.”
“Three weeks ago, remember? He was in our lives for a month and now he’s been back out of it for almost as long.” Her thumbs stroked the slight ridge and bump of the mug’s words. She was trying to ground herself in some sort of way. “Andie needs someone dependable.”
“And you think that’s Ethan?”
“No, but,” Y/N sighed. She wanted to crawl in a hole and die. “Ethan hasn’t backed out on any of the visits we’ve set up. He hasn’t rescheduled, nothing.”
“Don’t you think that’ll change though? You just said the only reason he’s even been making any effort is because of tall, dark, and handsome.”
“I said ‘think’. I’m not sure about anything when it comes to Ethan.” She focused her gaze on Ethan, biting her lip. “Not anymore.”
Ciara studied Y/N in that moment. She noticed that her friend had been working more shifts and the darker circles under her eyes seemed even more prominent. She looked like she’d been dragged through the dirt. Emotionally speaking at least. And putting her trust in Ethan to do right by Andie? Ciara knew it wasn’t doing her friend any good. Both of them were going to get hurt and nobody was going to be able to pick up the pieces. “Has…Has Andie been spending any time with the Avengers?”
“Uh…no, actually. Bruce has offered to come get her. So has Tony, but…” Y/N gnawed at her lip, stopping when she tasted blood on her tongue. Oops. “She’s just not interested.”
“Because of Ethan?”
Y/N didn’t answer. She really didn’t feel like there was a point to it. Instead, she took another sip of cocoa, relishing in the feel of her insides warming up. Sadly, it vanished just as quickly when she saw Ethan heading her way with Andie. The boys, like always, were still playing. And judging by the smile on her brilliant daughter’s face – Andie was still oblivious. Y/N hated it.
“You wanting to go home?” Y/N asked Andie, raising a brow.
Andie giggled and Y/N’s heart splintered. Smudged dirt on her cheeks and sparkling eyes, Andie hadn’t looked this happy in a long time. “Not at all,” she told her, catching her breath as she adjusted the cap on her head. That cap was the only thing that made Y/N hopeful that Ethan hadn’t taken over in Andie’s heart.
“Unfortunately, I got to get the boys home. Their mom’s finishing up dinner.”
“I’ll bet she is,” Y/N agreed, too-perfect smile in place.
Ciara choked on her drink, coughing as Andie started pounding on her back. She knew that smile of Y/N’s all too well. It was her you-can-go-fuck-yourself-up-the-ass smile. A personal favorite of both women.
“Can I actually talk to you for a second, Y/N?”
Her brow quirked as her eyes studied him. Ethan never went out of his way to ask Y/N to talk. They didn’t need to. Everything was through text and she preferred it that way. It gave her the space she absolutely needed to survive this. Sighing softly, she glanced at Ciara. “Get her some hot chocolate?”
Ciara glanced back at the nearby vendor and nodded. “We’ll be back in a bit,” she promised Y/N. Turning to Andie, she slipped on that beaming smile of hers. The one that made Andie giddy. “Let’s sugar you up, girl! I want to feed that sweet tooth of yours.”
Andie giggled, racing ahead of her as Ciara pushed herself off the table. Looking at Ethan, she promised, “We’ll be right back.” And then they were off. Out of hearing range, but within sight.
But Y/N never tore her gaze away from Ethan. She couldn’t. “What do you want?”
Ethan chuckled and raised his hands. “I come in peace.”
“I’m pretty sure Hitler said something similar,” Y/N told him, smile still in place. “So what is it?”
Ethan sighed softly, glancing over at Andie and Ciara before taking the seat next to Y/N. Her shoulders tensed, but other than that, she made no show that she was uncomfortable. She refused to let him get the upper hand. No, this wasn’t the same situation. She was stronger now. She’d grown. And Ethan saw that. “I wanted to thank you for letting me spend time with my daughter.”
Y/N snorted. “Letting you? Ethan, you never showed interest in her until the Aquarium.”
“That’s…” Ethan sighed, nodding ever so slightly. “You’re right.”
“Of course, I’m right!” Y/N turned to face him. Her eyes were filled with a fire he never would have seen in the time they were married. “It only took you eight fucking years to decide to play dad for her. Tell me, do your boys know who she is?”
Ethan grimaced, looking down at his clenched hands. “No. Not yet. But I want them to.”
Y/N scoffed. “Bullshit.”
“I just wanted to ask you first.”
She hesitated, fingers digging into the plastic she clung to. “Ask me what?”
“I – We’ve seen her a few times these past few weeks. And I have to ask – are you sure she’s a mutant? I haven’t seen any sign of any powers or anything, but I need to know.”
Y/N simply stared at him, unable to piece together why the fuck that had to matter. “Yes, five times in three weeks and suddenly you’re an expert on who your daughter is. That is such a realistic expectation for you to have.” Venom laced her voice, lashing at him and slicing through his façade as if it were nothing more than a thin blanket with which he hid behind. She rose to her feet, determined to walk away. She didn’t need this. They did not need this.
Ethan grit his teeth as he rose to his feet, catching her forearm. As far as the rest of the park was concerned, he was a boyfriend or husband trying to make amends with the woman he loved. At least – that was how it looked.
But appearances can be a funny thing.
Y/N stared straight ahead, eyes on Ciara and Andie. She refused to show that his grip hurt, already knowing there would be fingerprints in the morning. “You should really win an Oscar for these performances of yours,” she hissed, finally looking back at him.
He chuckled at that, leaning into her ear. Y/N was barely able to avoid flinching, doing everything in her power to keep her strength. She needed her strength. “Keep in mind, your daughter has become quite a fan of me, Y/N. So let’s just keep up appearances, hm?”
Y/N looked away from him, everything in her wanting to throw up in that moment. She felt dizzy. Panicky. “What do you want, Ethan?”
“Well first, I’d like for you to answer my question.”
“Yes. She’s a mutant. And she’s your kid. Congratulations.” Something similar to a growl slipped past his lips and she smirked, meeting his gaze. “Let me guess. Still an active member of the Friends of Humanity?”
Ethan’s grip never wavered, instead twisting her skin sharply and earning a sharp gasp. He was satisfied with just that, the smallest reaction. “Actually no. I’ve made new friends. Better ones, I think.”
“Of course, you have,” Y/N sneered. “You never change. You’re still the same arrogant, manipulative prick.”
“And you’re still the same frail, naïve, little girl.”
Ethan released her, knowing the jacket she wore would hide any sign of the strength he used. The anger in his eyes vanished quickly as the smile appeared. Y/N whipped around, the faintest hint of relief fluttering in her chest when Ciara and Andie returned. “Mom! Aunt Ciara bought me the biggest cup of hot cocoa!” Andie took a long sip, making the ridiculous noise and smiling to reveal her cocoa-stache. She looked from her to Ethan and back again, smile tilting to a frown. “What were you two talking about?”
“That’s what I’d like to know,” Ciara muttered.
“Actually,” Ethan told Andie, ignoring Ciara. “I was inviting your mom on a double date.”
Andie’s brow furrowed as Y/N felt her heart squeeze. Nope. No, she was not okay with whatever this what. Whatever Ethan was planning, she wanted no part in it. “A double date?”
“But only if it’s okay with you, Sweetheart,” Ethan said, earning a smile from Andie as Y/N’s stomach churned. “I would be going with my wife and I would be setting your mom up with someone I know. A really close friend of mine.”
Y/N shoved her trembling hands in her pockets as she looked to Ciara, silently pleading for help that she knew her friend couldn’t give her. So she was left with Andie. A child that hadn’t been thinking clearly for several days.
Andie really thought about it for a moment. She was thinking about how long her mom had been alone. How hard she was constantly working. Her mom never took a break or a night to herself. She was always sacrificing for Andie. If there was a chance for her to do something for herself…Andie wanted her to take it. Looking at Ethan, she shrugged. “Okay. Just don’t keep her out too late.”
Y/N felt a chill run down her spine, only one thought on her mind. Where the hell is Bucky?
-.-.-.-.-
Four more days passed. Finland was a failure. Then they went to Romania. Another miss. Then and then and then – every fucking time they had missed him. And every time it looked like they had been so close. The guilt and anger – they were eating Bucky alive. He slouched in his seat, straggles of his long hair falling in his face. He wanted to go home. That was all he wanted.
“Want to talk?”
He didn’t look up, eyes merely glancing at Steve’s boots. “Not really.”
“I’m sorry it’s taken so long.”
Bucky leaned forward, pressing the balls of his hands into his temples. He didn’t want apologies. He didn’t care about apologies. He just wanted to go home. But what was home at this point? His apartment in Brooklyn? The compound? Neither mattered to him as much as the broken family he had stumbled upon.
And they hadn’t heard from him in almost a month. Bucky knew Y/N. He knew she was guarded and careful because he was the same. Their reasons were different, but their actions? They were the same. And it was already hard enough for her to trust them this past month. Letting him in to the extent that she had? All that progress had been undone while he was gone. And it hurt that he was completely aware yet unable to do anything about it.
“I feel like I’m out of control. Like I was with Hydra.”
Steve frowned. Bucky’s voice had barely been above the smallest mumble. If he hadn’t been standing so close, if he didn’t have the serum coursing through his veins, he was sure he wouldn’t have heard him. “Why do you say that,” he asked, taking a seat next to Bucky.
The brunette sighed, shaking his head. He didn’t want to talk.
“I can’t help if you don’t let me in, Buck.”
Bucky looked over his shoulder and it was then Steve saw it. The tears shining in those endless blue eyes of his best friend. Fuck. This was hitting him hard. “You know, I didn’t even take her on a date. Not a proper one at least,” he muttered, hanging his head. “I told her I cared about her. That I wanted to catch her when she falls. I wanted to be there and protect her and Andie from that dick she calls an ex.” He ran his metal hand through his hair. “But she called it.”
“Called it?”
He swallowed thickly, refusing to cry in front of his teammates. “She said our lifestyles are different. And she’s right. I’m an Avenger now. Being that means I can’t be anything more than a friend. A babysitter.”
“Clint has kids. He’s a father.”
Bucky looked at his friend. Steve had never seen him look so pitiful before. “And how much time does he actually spend with them, Steve? Besides, it’s different. His wife – She went in knowing what Clint does. She signed up for it. Y/N? She has so much on her plate already. She needed consistency. She needed something steady.”
Steve looked between them, finally understanding. Bucky and Y/N had clung to each other subconsciously – relying on one another for that one little thing the other so desperately craved. Bucky needed something good. Something that wasn’t a fight. Y/N needed something consistent. Something safe.
They needed each other.
“I needed normal, Steve And the one piece I had…the one good thing I had…” He sighed, tilting his head back and staring at the ceiling. “I don’t think I have it anymore. I can’t – No, I won’t ask Y/N to be okay with this lifestyle. I won’t ask her to let me in and trust me to be that missing piece they need. Not with this.”
“Then quit being an Avenger.”
Bucky scoffed, closing his eyes.
“I’m serious, Buck. You are holding yourself accountable for a lifetime of crimes that weren’t your fault.”
“I still did them.”
“And you still deserve something good.”
Bucky looked at him, nothing but an ache in his eyes.
“You deserve to live a life where you are happy. You deserve that. And you deserve to have a family.”
“That’s just it, Steve,” Bucky murmured, shaking his head. “I don’t want any family. I wanted to be a part of that family.”
“It’s not too late.”
Bucky shook his head, already tuning Steve out and fixating on the ceiling of the quinjet once again. “Yes, it is,” he murmured.
Steve watched his best friend for a few moments. He could never fully understand the thoughts racing through Bucky’s head. He could never imagine the guilt that wrapped itself around Bucky’s heart, squeezing and suffocating it. All he could do was try to help. Rising to his feet, he walked to the pilot’s seat and leaned over, catching Natasha’s and Sam’s attention.
Sam raised an eyebrow, asking Steve, “There something we can do for you, Cap?”
“Chart a course home. The sooner we get back, the better.”
Natasha and Sam glanced past Steve, their gazes landing on Bucky at almost the same time. They shared a look before turning back to the controls. Sam shrugged. “You got it.”
-.-.-.-.-
“Mom?”
Y/N turned to the door as she finished slipping one of her heels on. Andie was watching curiously. Her baggy jeans and that Winter Soldier shirt were a sharp contrast to the black dress Y/N was currently wearing. “What is it, baby girl?”
Andie took in her outfit, smiling softly. There was a time she would have hoped she would wear that dress for a date with Bucky. But that was just a kid’s dream. And seeing her dad more gave her hope that maybe Ethan would be willing to let them all be one big family. She hoped at least… Smiling at her mom, she whistled. “You look really pretty.”
Y/N smiled and rose to her feet. “Remind me to thank Ciara for lending me the dress.” She took a shaky breath, murmuring more to herself, “I – I’m really nervous.”
“Do you not want to go?”
Andie’s brow furrowed as her concern was mistaken for fear. Y/N smiled and ruffled her hair. “I do, but everyone gets nervous for a date. Don’t you know that?”
Andie giggled and followed Y/N into the living room. Her mom hadn’t looked this pretty in a long time. It was a simple black dress with a halter top and open back, reaching the floor and hiding red heels. To Andie, she looked classy. Like one of those old movie stars in Steve’s and Bucky’s favorite movies. “What time do you think you’ll be home?”
“I’m not sure. I’ve never been to an opera before,” she told Andie, putting her phone and some cash in her small purse. Just in case.
“It sounds boring.”
Y/N laughed and kissed the top of Andie’s head. “You’re probably right. Anyway, Peter should be here in fifteen minutes. So, anything I’m missing?” She did a small spin for her daughter, waiting for the final verdict. But instead of judgement, Andie hugged her.
“Just that,” Andie mumbled, looking up at her.
Y/N smiled and brushed her hair back. “No matter what happens tonight, you know you always got me, right?”
Andie nodded. When a knock came from the door, Y/N took a shaky breath. She was not ready for tonight, but she could do this. She would do it for Andie. And then she would never go on a date ever again. Well…probably not at least. Untangling herself from Andie, she turned to the door and opened it. There, standing just outside, were Ethan, his wife, and –
“Y/N, allow me to introduce you to your date this evening. This is Quentin Beck.”
He stepped forward, taking her hand and placing a chaste kiss to the back of it. “It is a pleasure, Ms. Y/L/N. Ethan has told me a lot about you.”
Y/N glanced from Ethan back to Quentin. Her nerves hadn’t settled. If anything, the unease in her gut was ever more prominent. She didn’t have a good feeling about any of this. But…she would play the part of supportive mom. The smallest smile curved her lips as she said, “Good things I hope.”
Quentin smiled. “Only good things, I promise.”
-.-.-.-.-
“What are we doing back at the compound?” Bucky’s gruff voice earned a chuckle from Sam.
He looked over his shoulder, asking Bucky, “Can’t you just be grateful? Like ever?”
“Not to you.”
Natasha chuckled. “Easy, you two. We figured it might be time to ask F.R.I.D.A.Y. for a little help.”
“Meanwhile, Bucky can reach out to our favorite family,” Steve offered, earning a glare from Bucky.
“Steve, you didn’t – “
Bucky’s argument was cut short by Clint running out of the compound, greeting them with a rather…panicked sort of appearance. “Guys, we gotta – It’s important. I – Oh, I need to work out more,” he said, huffing and catching his breath. “This place is way too big.”
“Slow down, Birdbrain,” Sam teased. “What’s going on?”
Clint straightened, eyes shifting from each of them. He lingered on Bucky for the smallest moment before turning to Steve. “Tony has reason to believe that…Y/N’s ex-husband is connected to Zemo.”

1. What is your OC’s favorite color?
Green ^^
2. Does your OC collect anything? What do they collect?
Ethan doesn’t collect anything in particular, nope!
3. What kind of things is your OC allergic to?
He’s pretty allergic to pollen so~
4. What kind of clothing does your OC wear?
Casual stuff I guess?
5. What is your OC’s first memory?
Joining his sister, Annabelle, in fort making..
6. What’s your OC’s favorite animal? Least favorite?
His favorite animals are tigers and… he doesn’t have a least favorite? (at least not yet!)
7. What element would your OC be?
WATER!
8. What is your OC’s theme song?
He… doesn’t have one (yet)!
9. Do you have a faceclaim / voiceclaim for your OC?
No and no!
Although.. in my dream cast, he was Logan Lerman so~ Take with that what you will XD
10. What deadly sin would best represent your OC?
Envy~
11. What are your OC’s hobbies?
He’s a wannabe DJ ^^ He likes collecting record and vintage CDs and shit!
12. How patient is your OC? How hot-headed are they?
Heh, Ethan’s the most patient character to EVER exist!
But.. even he has his limits :X
I’ll just say this: Ethan would only blow up if a close friend lied to him or.. kept secrets from him.. big secrets-!
13. What is your OC’s gender / sexuality / race / species / etc.?
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Heteroromantic Demisexual
Race: Caucasian
Species: NOT SAYING
14. What foods does your OC like to eat? What are their least favorite foods?
Sweet and spicy foods are his favorite :)
Ehhh he’s not a fan of seafood though? Like… sushi especially~
16. What does your OC smell like?
He.. doesn’t have a specific smell? XD
Toni doesn’t go around smelling the people around her, OK?!
17. How do they make a living? What kind of job do they want / not want? What is their dream job? What do they think of their current job?
Ethan makes a living by going on missions as a vampire hunter, DUH! He also helps out at the New York Public Library so. That’s a part-time endeavor, though. He doesn’t hate this job or anything, but he is also obsessed with music and nostalgia (thanks to his parents) and his dream job is definitely to be a professional DJ!
18. What are your OC’s greatest fears? Weaknesses? Strengths?
Jesus, that’s a loaded question.. umm. To be as brief as possible…
Fears: Heights and losing loved ones
Weaknesses: He trusts too much/puts too much faith into people that he loves/cares about~
Strengths: Great leadership skills and confidence
19. What kind of music do they listen to? Do they have a favorite song?
Ethan listens to anything and everything, but he has a soft spot for dubstep! Skrillex is his favorite band, but he doesn’t have a favorite song; it changes constantly ;)
21. What personal problems/issues do they have? Pet peeves?
He sorta has the same pet peeves as Toni, i.e. annoying/rude people. I don’t think I can get into Ethan’s personal problems/issues without issuing a SPOILERS tag so.. sorry!
22. What kind of student were they/would they be in high school?
Straight-A student, no question!
23. What is a random fact about your OC?
Gosh… umm… Ethan can’t stand screamo music!
I know I said that he liked listening to everything, but he tries to avoid THAT type whenever he can.. XD
24. What is their outlook on life? What is their philosophy / what do they think in general about living?
Ethan’s outlook is pretty positive/optimistic. He generally feels like he’s protecting humanity by being a vampire hunter, so that’s always good :3 As for his thoughts on living and life, well… he’s dealt with a lot of death in his life. Surely not as much as Toni has, but… Ethan sees vampirism as a true curse and that’s really why he hunts vampires and kinda resents them a lot, especially HENRI :X
25. What inspired you to create them / how did you create them? Were they originally a fancharacter? What was their personality / design like when you first made them?
Ethan was basically the second character I ever created for the series, actually! Even before Henri Sinclair was a thing, it was just Toni and Ethan! Two best friends, nothing more! Of course… I based him on a friend I knew in middle school (who was also named Ethan, go figure, right?) who was very friendly and… ehhh I might’ve had a crush on him XD But that doesn’t matter! Ethan was always going to be the best friend of Toni, but.. while I finished up the first draft of the third (and at the time LAST) book, I realized that some of my readers really liked Ethan and wanted him to be happy and in a relationship with Toni. Obviously, this was impossible and a minority happenstance since people really shipped Henri and Toni but WHATEVER!
Anyway, so that’s why - in the prequel - I gave them more chances to grow up together. Ethan and Toni
26. Who is the most important person in their life? Why? Who is the least important to them (that still has an impact) and why?
Most Important: Ehhh it’s a mixed bag between his mother, Toni, Clary, and Hannah! All equally important and loved
Least Important: Stephen Church might be Ethan’s would-be enemy if they weren’t both hunters, but I’d say they learn from each other all the same. Ethan still respects Stephen!
27. What kind of childhood did your character have?
Sorry but I’m pulling a SPOILER card for this one!
It’s genuinely important and must be secret!
28. What kind of nervous habits do they have? Do they stim? Do they have any kinds of addictions?
Ethan doesn’t really have any nervous habits or addictions, at least none that are relatively important to his character ;)
At least not yet~
29. If they could choose their epitaph for their grave, what would they choose?
“Keep Living” or something like that!
31. What is their most traumatic memory/experience? What is their favorite memory?
I can’t answer the first part of this for SURE but-
Ethan’s favorite memory is any moment he got to hang out with his big sister~
32. If they could have one thing in the world, what would it be?
Ethan doesn’t want anything; he’s perfectly content~
35. How is your character’s imagination? Daydreaming a lot? Worried most of the time? Living in memories?
He focuses a lot on the present and future, and rarely the past. I’d say he has a good imagination, but he doesn’t let him lose sight of reality or anything like that. I wouldn’t say he’s worried 24/7, but he can get anxious about the lives of his friends (lookin’ at YOU, Toni!)
36. What does your character want most? What do they need really badly, compulsively? What are they willing to do, to sacrifice, to obtain?
Ethan wants to make a difference in the world, especially through protecting humanity in the face of the supernaturals, mostly the vampires! Compulsively, though, he really wants to have a connection with someone
37. What’s something that your character does, that other people don’t normally do?
Uhhhh nothing that I can think of on the spot?!
38. What would your character do with a million dollars?
Buy DJ equipment of course~
40. Your character is getting ready for a night out. Where are they going? What do they wear? Who will they be with?
Ethan’s going on a mission! He wears black to blend in with the shadows (even though he’ll be sticking out in a crowd once he’s at the venue)! He would either go with Toni or Clary on the mission!
41. What does your character do when they’re angry? Why?
It’s very, very rare but Ethan blows up when he’s angry. Then a few seconds later, he’d go silent. Hell, he might even cry. Like I said, though, this rarely ever happens!
44. How does your character react/ accept criticism?
Ethan is pretty cool-headed about criticism!
45. If your character was given a slice of pineapple pizza and they HAD to eat it (or something bad would happen), how would they react? Do they even LIKE pineapple pizza?
Ethan isn’t really a lover of pizza (I know, shocker!) but I’m sure he’d like pineapple pizza if he ate it on a dare or something ^^ After all, he likes sweet things!
46. Your character is given a voodoo doll of themself. What do they do with it? Do they see if it actually works?
Ethan would probably just shove it in his closet and do nothing with it XD
47. Can your character draw? What do they like to draw? Do they doodle?
Ethan doodles, but I wouldn’t say he’s a full-blown artist!
49. Does your character like candy? Do they get sugar rushes? What are they like when they get a rush?
The only sugar Ethan consumes is in the soda he drinks so XD He’s not much of a candy guy~
50. If your character was presented with imminent and unavoidable death/fatality, how would they react? Would they try to avoid death anyways? Would they try to make their last days count?
Ethan’s the type of person who would definitely make his days count (as he does that already) and he wouldn’t try to avoid death at all. He’d just… accept it!
Man, I’m late with this and I know there are others, but I felt like getting through some asks today so

Birthday Surprises- Ethan Dolan
Author: raeswritings
Pairing: Ethan x reader
Requested: Yes
Request: Can you do an Ethan imagine where it’s your birthday and he does all these really cute surprises for you and maybe some gifts or something as well. Basically just him being the cutest and best boyfriend ever
Warnings: Fluff c;
Tumblr media
You woke up to the sound of birds chirping near the bedroom window. The sun shinning through the blinds casting a warm glow into the room. You rub the sleep out of your eyes, stretching your arms as you sit up.
You look to the side of the bed where Ethan would be only to see a tray with breakfast on it with a cute little note besides the juice. You take the note delicately in your hand reading the hand writing you recognized as Ethan’s. You open and read the note.
“Good morning princess, I hope you’re in for some surprises on your very special day. So I made this little hunt for you. For first clue on where to find me, solve this riddle for the first place. I’m your friend in the morning, your go to drink. When you can’t function I’m there to help you think. Go to the place where we first met to find your favorite coffee treat.”
You smile as you think about your first encounter with Ethan.
You were in line waiting for your usual coffee drink that you always get. You had caught Ethan’s eye the second you stepped into the cozy little coffee shop. He’s seen you around before, smiling before drinking your coffee and bidding the batista goodbye before leaving.
Ethan has been wanting to talk to you but is really shy. In his eyes you were beyond beautiful. He was afraid that he’ll say the wrong thing and embarrass himself. It wasn’t until Grayson noticed his brother eyeing you.
“Dude, just go talk to her.” Grayson huffed, annoyed at his brother for not talking to the girl he’s been looking at for the past 2 minutes.
“What? No! I’ll make a fool of myself.” Ethan mumbled, his shoulders slouching. Grayson rolled his eyes. “Just ‘accidentally’ spill your drink on her and go from there.”
“I’m not doing that!” Ethan yelped but then sighed when he saw Grayson’s if-you-don’t-I’ll-do-something-about-it face. “Fine but if it doesn’t work you’re buying me another drink.” Ethan told Grayson before heading in your direction.
Thanking the batista you turn around only to bump into someone causing you to spill your drink onto your shirt. You gasp looking down at your coffee stained shirt, the cold liquid seeping into the material. You look up about to freak out on the person but get stopped by the look of horror on their face.
“Oh my god. I-I’m so sorry. I wasn’t looking where I was going!” The cute stranger stutters as they quickly get napkins and try to dry your shirt.
“I was coming over here to talk to you but I was distracted by my brother then the next thing I know I bump into you. God I’m so sorry!” He rushed. You almost didn’t catch what he said.
“Hey, it’s fine. It’s my sisters shirt anyway I doubt she’ll miss it.” You shrug, smiling a little.
“I still feel bad! Let me make it up to you, I’ll buy you another one. I’m Ethan by the way.” He introduced himself.
“Seeing that my drink is mostly on my shirt, I’ll take up on that offer. I’m (Y/N).” You say with a smile.
You shake the memory from your head and start getting ready.
As you step into the coffee shop you are greeted by Amy, a batista who you had befriended.
“Good morning (Y/N)!” Amy greets you before turning around and making your usual. “Here you go! One caramel frap, extra whip cream and caramel on top just how you like it. Happy birthday.”
You take your drink and begin to pull out your wallet. “Oh no need! It’s already paid for.” Amy states with a smirk.
You look at her slightly confused, Amy elaborates. “Ethan came by earlier and paid for it. He told me to give you this.” Amy hands you a note that looks similar to the one you found. You take it biding Amy goodbye and start reading it as you walk to the side.
“I see you found the second clue. For the next place solve this: Here you find something sweet. Even though you are my favorite treat. Go to the place where our lips first meet.”
You knew exactly where to go. The local bakery. You and Ethan had your first kiss there.
“I can’t believe you never heard of this place and you lived here all your life!” Ethan exclaims as he opens the for you.
Ever since Ethan had bumped into you causing you to spill your coffee onto you, you and Ethan had exchanged numbers talking and texting each other almost every day.
When Ethan found out that you never went to the bakery that he came to love, he made it his mission to take you there and make you try everything that he liked.
“So which one do you recommend?” You asked looking from the sweets on display to Ethan.
“Well I always get the red velvet cupcake. It may sound basic but trust me it’s actually heaven on earth. But I want you to try everything that me and Grayson get.” Ethan speaks looking at you with a huge smile on his face.
Your eyes widen. “Everything?! How much is that exactly?” You ask.
“Just a couple of cupcakes, pies, cookies and other sweets. Don’t worry we’ll share and take what we don’t finish to go.” He assures you.
“You’re lucky I love anything sweet.”
And that’s what you did. You tried over 20 things that day.
“Got a little frosting on your lip.” Ethan says pointing to his lips.
You wipe your mouth. “Did I get it?” You ask.
Ethan shakes his head. “Here let me.” Ethan leaned over the table and gave you a chaste kiss on the lips, licking the frosting off.
With a belly full of sweets along with a good time hanging out with Ethan, sure landed him another date.
The smell of fresh baked goods filled the air as you stepped inside the bakery. You go to the counter where Helen, the owner of the bakery, was frosting cupcakes.
“Morning Helen.” You greet her as she goes around the counter and brings you in for a hug.
“Good morning sweetie! I heard it’s your birthday today so Ethan and I picked out some sweets just for you!” Helen said excitedly, pulling out a pink box that had a ribbon with a note attached to it.
You thanked Helen taking the box from her and went to sit down at a nearby table. You open the box deciding to see what Ethan had picked out. You smiled at the variety of sweets in the box and picked out a red velvet cupcake. You took a bite and read the note.
“Here you’ll find something soft and creamy. This is where my feelings started to get really steamy. Here it’s always really cold but it doesn’t stop you from having a heart of gold.”
“The ice cream shop!” You thought excitedly. You knew what Ethan meant by his feelings started to get steamy. It’s where he first said I love you.
It was a hot summer day, 20 past noon with the summer heat heavy on your and Ethan’s shoulders you both decided to cool down at the nearby ice cream parlor.
“God it’s so hot!” You groaned as the cool air of the ice cream shop hit your warm body.
“It’s not that hot (Y/N). You’re being a drama queen.” Ethan playfully rolls his eyes.
“It’s like 100 degrees outside E!!” You exclaim before ordering.
“Ok ok! I’ve got another one!” You say after a fit of giggles. You and Ethan were currently telling each other bad jokes. The one who laughs loses.
“Why don’t melons get married?” You paused. “Because they cant-alope!” You said with a serious face.
You and Ethan both stare at each other, trying to hold in your laughs but fail. Ethan throws his head back laughing. “Man I love you.” He says with smiling, looking content at that exact moment.
You freeze at his words. “You what?” At this, Ethan realizes what he said. His eyes wide as he tries to find his words. “I, uh.” He sighs, his face becomes serious. “I love you.” He softly said, his eyes looking into yours.
You couldn’t stop the smile from appearing on your face. “I love you to.”
You finish your cupcake and make your way to the ice cream shop. “Hey (Y/N)!” Josh, your and Ethan’s friend greets you with a smile.
“Hot fudge sundae with pink sprinkles?” He asks. You nod. “So a little bird told me today was your birthday! How come you never told me! I could’ve got you something!” Josh said handing you your sundae with a note on typed in the side.
“I thought you knew! I told you like last week. It’s not my fault you’re forgetful.” You laugh before sitting down enjoying that ocean cream and begin to read the note.
“You’re so close baby! Just solve this and I’ll be there when you arrive. Here is where we climb up high. You make me feel as tall as the sky. When I’m here I can clear my mind and you are never too far behind.”
Your mind instantly thought of the little hideout where Ethan goes to think.
“Babe how much longer? My feet are killing me.” You ask Ethan.
“Not that far, we’re almost there.”
Since Ethan first said I love you, it’s changed your relationship. Not it a bad way though. Ethan wanted to share a place that was special to him.
It was on top of a mountain type hill where it was high enough to see the valley below. The green scenery was beautiful to look at, a true sight to see. That’s where Ethan and Grayson would always go to just to be alone if things got too much.
Ethan pulls you up a big rock and sets you on the ground besides him. You look into the horizon. The sun slowly setting, casting a pink/orange glow on the sky. “Whoa.” You breathe.
“I know. This is where Gray and I come here to think. No one really knows about this place, just us and now you,” Ethan paused, sitting down with his back leaning against a tree. You follow his actions. “I wanted to show you this place because your special to me. With you I can truly be myself and not have any walls up.”
You both just sit in silence, enjoying each other’s company. There was no words needed to be spoken. Both content with each other and the view.
You huff as you see the tree marked where Ethan and Grayson put so they know they were close to the hideout. As you get closer you see silhouette of a person on their knees hunched over something.
“E?” You call out. Ethan looks back smiling.
“You found me!” He shouts and pulls you in for a big bear hug. “Happy birthday princess! I made all your favorites!” He said kissing your head and leading you to the cute little picnic set up in a blanket.
You smile, eyes whelming up with tears. “This is so sweet. Thank you.” You say kissing Ethan with much love and passion. “This is perfect.”
“Alright. I have your actual present.” Ethan begins after you both finished eating chocolate covered strawberries. He pulls out a cute little birthday bag out of the picnic basket and hands it to you.
You take it from him, taking out the colored tissue paper. You take out the little black box from inside. “Ethan, you shouldn’t have. I’m happy with just this.” You state.
“Hush! You didn’t even open it. Plus I wanted to. Now open it!” He urges you.
You comply opening the box to find a beautiful gold necklace with a gold rose. A cute little circle next to the rose had an ‘E’ engraved on it.
You look from the necklace to Ethan. “It’s beautiful. Help me put it on?” You give Ethan the necklace as you move your hair from your neck and face the other direction.
Ethan’s nibble fingers clamps the necklace and kisses your cheek. “I love you. Happy birthday.”
You couldn’t have asked for a better boyfriend or birthday. It was like you said. It was perfect.

Frye Twins x Reader ~ Family
Tumblr media
People say in your final moment, your life flashes before your eyes.
It does.
The first two decades of your life, you would say, weren't really exciting. Being the only child in your family you continued the legacy of your parents. Born and raised in Crawley you trained with the reckless Ethan Frye to become a Master Assassin. Matching to his longing to court danger you were a free spirit yourself. The two of you were almost like siblings. Inseparable and the perfect team to take out the Templars. Well, until Ethan met Cecily – his future wife.
You were on your own again during missions, but you didn't really mind the loneliness. It changed rather fast, when you saved George Westhouse's life. You took him to the Brotherhood so he can join and become your new partner.
In the meantime, the Brotherhood in Crawley got a fifth member. Duncan Hardy – your future husband. So a handful of highly skilled Assassins should be more enough to take back London from the Templars. 100 years they had the upper hand. It had been the time to change that. Or so.
1847 changed everything for you and the Brotherhood in general. Ethan and Cecily were expecting a child, while Duncan and you weren't blessed in that way. Yes, you were happy for them and jealous at the same time.
A day before the twins were born, Ethan fails on his mission miserably, which resulted in Duncan, his current partner, getting killed. Unfortunately, you didn't have the chance to mourn over your loss. On the 9th November 1847 Cecily died after giving birth to Evie and Jacob Frye. Healthy twins.
"Cecily, please, you can't do this to me! They need their mother", you cradle the little bundle in your arms hoping to stop Evie from screaming, while Jacob takes a nap on the bed. Born and already a lazy ass. Cecily flashes you a slight smile, which doesn't reach her tired eyes. Her time is slowly running out, but at least she knows her two angels are in good hands. In yours and Ethan's.
"You are going to be such a great mother. I would be honored if you take care of them. Please", how could you say no to her begging eyes? And after all, to be a mother is still a wish of yours. "Sure, I will do my best", you mumble under your breath trying not to choke on your tears.
Like Cecily has been waiting for your answer, the sparkle in her eyes dies. The door gets pushed open as Ethan rushes in the room panting heavily. True happiness appears on his face, but it doesn't last long. "Cecily? Cecily!", you step into his way before he can reach his deceased wife. You got a last look at Duncan's dull eyes, which are hunting you in your dreams. He shouldn't endure the same.
"Take care of Evie. I'll coordinate everything else. We got this, Ethan", you have no idea how you will keep everything under control, but it will work out somehow. The Master Assassin flashes his hidden blade just an inch under your chin, "Don't tell me what to do!" Nothing is going to work out well.
Without a word you swipe away the blade from your skin. Then you wrap Evie and Jacob up in a blanket to carry them out of the room. "Ethan-", you try your luck to talk some sense into his head, but he cuts you off rudely, "Out!" The Grief takes the best of him. Hopefully he will get himself back on track. The twins need their father.
Ethan Frye couldn't cope the loss of his wife. Instead of taking care of his children, he traveled to India to train the young Assassin Jayadeep Mir. You took your new task more than serious. Not sending them away to Cecily's mother, you treated and loved Evie and Jacob like they were your own children. George took over your Assassins tasks for a while so you could focus only on the twins. Which you did just like Cecily predicted.
"Jacob! Wait a second", you pick up the little boy before he can leave the house. He wraps his little but already strong arms around your neck to steady himself. "Huh?", his deep brown eyes lock with your [E/C] ones in question. "You are not wearing shoes, Duckling", you point at his naked feet and the little toes Jacob is wiggling.
George gave the boy this nickname, after he noticed how the younger Frye follows you around like a duckling. Somehow you it got stuck in your head and actually it fits him very well.
"Huh!", Jacob throws his tiny arms up in frustration. "If you don't know where your shoes are, then go find them. And no eagle vision!", you don't need words to understand what he is trying to say. The male Frye is already a chaotic mess in contrast to his sister. He wiggles out of your grip to find his shoes like you said so he can explore the garden in the back.
Slightly smiling you turn around to see how Evie is doing with her book. She loves to look at the pictures in them and guess what the book is about. "You already done again, darling?", you ask her as you find her favorite spot empty. She can't run yet like her brother, but crawls towards the bookshelf now and then when she finished one.
"Help me, please!", Evie stretches her arms up to reach a book on one of the higher shelves. "Try it and I'm here if you should fall", your hands hover just an inch behind her back as the female Frye stands up on her wobbly tiny legs. "I can't! I'm falling!" Just like you promised you catch Evie and pick her up. She buries her face in the crook of your neck frustrated.
"It's okay. You will do it tomorrow. Just keep trying, darling", you take her and the book she wanted back to her favorite spot. Her failure is washed away immediately when Evie loses herself in another book. She got a lot of Cecily, while Jacob takes after his father, Ethan.
"Moma, huh!", speak of the devil. He found his shoes finally. "Go for it, Duckling", you allow him to play in the garden until it gets dark. Of course, you keep an eye on the little rebel, while taking care of the Frye-Westhouse-[Y/L/N] household.
The twins grew faster than you have thought. And with that their heritage and skills started to show. So you started to train the young Assassins earlier. Of course, you saw how different they are and tried to boost their strengths. It was hard being mentor and mother at the same time. The line faded more than once. Especially due to how much you loved it to be a mother for them.
When Evie and Jacob were old enough to understand, you told them about their parents. They have a right to know everything about Cecily and Ethan. You gave him the decision to call you Moma or [Y/N]. Never would you force one of them to something they don't want to.
"Moma!", Jacob runs towards you throwing his arms up into the air. Even if he is almost six years old, the boy is still your little baby. Even after he knows the truth Jacob still sees you as his mother. And that will never change. You kneel down wrapping him up in a tight hug to comfort him. Tears wet your shoulder as Evie entered the room. A winning smile on her lips.
"Duckling. Darling. What happened?", you want to know from the Frye twins. Jacob mumbles something under his breath you couldn't quite understand. "He can't memorize the tenets like I can. It upsets him, Aunt [Y/N]", Evie explains, while she crosses her arms in front of her chest.
In contrast to her brother, the female Frye stopped calling you Mama. She wants to keep that place for her true but passed mother – Cecily. Of course, it hurts to see the distance you created between you and her. Still you wouldn't change your decision.
"You called me stupid! If I can't remember them, I will never become an Assassin. Is that true, Moma?", Jacob looks at you with his beautiful brown eyes. "You wanted to rip sides out of my book!", Evie defends herself. Slightly smiling you pull the female Frye onto your free side so you have both of them close to you.
"Jacob, Assassins live by the tenets. It is necessary you memorize them, but not today. And not tomorrow. Take your time to learn our creed. Evie, your brother will be your companion on mission. Never call him stupid. He may save your life one day. Try to protect his weaknesses and vice versa, okay? Now, go play in the gardens for a little bit", you tell them what they need to know.
It is another lesson the twins have to learn, but for now, they are still children. "Okay, Aunt [Y/N]", Evie replies as you press a kiss on her forehead. "Thank you, Moma. Love you", Jacob smiles at you brightly, which causes a wave of happiness washing over you.
"I love you, too, Duckling. But, please, be careful this time", you place a kiss on the cut he has on his right eyebrow. The male Frye fell down a tree he had climbed. There will be left a scar probably, but it won't stop his good looks he got from his father.
"No promises!", with that Jacob wiggles himself out of your grip once again to run outside. Just as reckless as Ethan. Great...
1853. Jacob's and Evie's sixth birthday was small like the others before. Gorge, Cecily's mother and you. The twins didn't mind it at all. All the attention were just focused on them. The female Frye got more books to read as always, while the male Frye got a necklace for his – just to mention – still tiny neck. The Shilling he loved to play with as a baby. The pendant serves like a guardian angel.
However, it was a lovely day, which caused Jacob and Evie developing an even deeper connection to you. After six years and out of nowhere, Ethan appears a month late for their birthday. To train Jayadeep awakened something like parental instinct inside of him. The Master Assassin wanted his children back.
"Are you two ready to learn something new?", you ask the twins as you make your way towards the door that leads to the garden. Jacob lets go of your hand to run outside happily, "Duckling! Shoes!" The male Frye rolls his eyes annoyed, but sits down and follows your order.
Evie tugs on the edge of your sleeve to get your attention, "I have a question, Aunt [Y/N]. What is a Piece of Eden?" Surprised you furrow your eyebrows, then you put your hands on your hips, "Did you sneak through George's office again? The Piece of Eden is a powerful artefact, which we – the Assassins – try to protect. When you are older, I'll explain you everything in detail, okay, darling?"
Evie seems satisfied with your answer. She sits down right next to her brother to put on her shoes. A slight smile appears on your lips, while you watch them. "[Y/N]!", George enters the house in haste followed by a well known face. Ethan Frye enters your house like the last six years didn't happen. Your home. George's home. The twins home.
The "lost" Master Assassin looks at his two children not believing how tall they are already. "Moma, who is this man?", Jacob grabs your hand unsure about the visitor. Evie hides herself behind your leg for safety. Both of them know you will protect them no matter the cost.
"That's-", you want to introduce your old friend, but he cuts you off, "I am Ethan Frye – your father." Evie gathers up all her braveness and takes a step forward. "Aunt [Y/N] told us about you", you can literally see how her cute green-bluish eyes lull Ethan's heart in.
"George, would you take care of them for a moment? Ethan and I have a few things to talk about", you ask him friendly. Jacob's grip around your hand tightens instantly. "Don't you want to show George how good are you at climbing already?", you know which buttons you have to press to convince the male Frye. The boy runs out the door to his favorite tree. Evie and George are close behind.
"I guess you come to take your children back", the Master Assassin doesn't answer, but you still can read his face like an open book. "How dare you after six years?!", you lunch forward to hit his chest forcefully as tears start to pool in your eyes. Ethan wraps you up in his arms enduring your anger wordlessly.
"I would never rip the twins away from you. I just want to be the father they deserve. I am so sorry for leaving", his words are not comforting at all. They just open your wounds once more and even spread some salt into them. You escape his grip, "No, you are not. You were never sorry."
But Ethan Frye kept his promise. The Master Assassin moved in the Frye-Westhouse-[Y/L/N] household and let you be with the twins you loved so much. But, unfortunately, Ethan took over their training. He had changed a lot during his time in India. The recklessness he possessed turned into strictness. You lost count long time ago how often you had fights with him, when he pushed the twins too hard. Especially Jacob, who couldn't compete with Evie when it came to researches and plans.
"Mom? Do I have to learn this all today? I can't do this anymore", Jacob looks at you fiddling with the giant book in his hands. You put your hidden blade on the table to give him your whole attention. "Jacob, it's already late. Why aren't you sleeping?", you offer him his favorite spot with open arms. Even if he is already ten years old, the male Frye loves to sit on your lap when something bothers him.
"Father said, I have to make up one of the many lacks in skills I have... I'm already doing my best to be as good as Evie", a lonely tear runs over his cheek, which you wipe away with your thumb. "Listen, duckling, you never need to be as good as Evie. You know why? Because you are Jacob. You take your time, okay? Now go to bed. I'll talk to your father", the boy hugs you tightly, before you give him his daily good night kiss.
Fuming you close the door of Ethan's office behind you. George gives you a surprised look, but the old Frye just keeps his eyes on the document in his hands. He already knows what is going to come, "Did Jacob complain about his work again?" Unbelievable that your blood isn't boiling yet.
"Complaining?! He stayed up half of the night to make up his lacks, which are not existing. Jacob is ten years old, Ethan! Ten! He is still a child!", you reply almost screaming, but you know Evie and Jacob are sleeping an etage under you. George stands up and puts a hand on your arm to calm you down.
"Evie is way ahead of him in stealth and knowledge. He has to learn more to become an Assassin", Ethan answers emotionlessly. You cross your arms in front of your chest, "You can't compare Jacob to Evie and vice versa. They are twins, but two individuals. Evie is a stealth master. Jacob is the acrobat. They are a perfect team, but how you treat them differently will tear the twins apart."
The old Frye hits his hands on the wooden surface of the table, "Don't tell me what to do! You are not their mother, [Y/N]!" He could have pushed his hidden blade into your heart. It wouldn't have hurt more than his words. "I know, but I was there for them when they needed you", you manage not to choke on your tears. With that you leave the room hoping to hurt as much as he hurt you.
"That was way under your dignity. Be ashamed of your behavior, old friend", George can't recognize the Ethan he has known for years anymore. Like you he leaves Frye's office. He finds you silently crying in the kitchen so the twins can't hear you. George wraps you up in his arms without a word and you let him see your fragile side.
And it went on like this. Ethan put Jacob down, you picked him up. Ethan didn't approve Jacob's methods, you complimented the outcome of his missions. And still the male Frye did never accomplish what his father ordered. You really tried to stay fair towards Evie, but she became Ethan's favorite twin. Defending Jacob all the time, you lost the connection you had with her. You did blame Ethan Frye for that, but what should you have done?
Even if Ethan was busy with Jayadeep – or Barath Singh now – it came to fights frequently. The teenage twins were quite trouble to deal with sometimes. Especially Jacob coming after his father in his recklessness. So when he were up to no good, he turned to you for help instead of his father. In 1862 one of the fights almost escalated.
"What stupid thing you will do next, Jacob?! Can't you or don't want you think like an Assassin?", Ethan is scolding his son loudly. "Save your breath, Ethan. Go to sleep, Jacob. Let this new scar be a lesson for you, young man", you send the young Frye away not caring how mad Ethan will be at you.
The second Jacob is out of the room, the old Frye triggers his hidden blade once again an inch under your chin. Pure anger can be seen in his darkened eyes, but you only push the blade away, "You can't scare me with that anymore."
"He will compromise the Brotherhood with his methods one day", the Master Assassin replies taking a step closer towards you. You roll your eyes annoyed, "It was a little fight he had. Don't act like you haven't done it before. I know you for years now, Ethan. Jacob is exactly the same you were before you met Cecily! Don't blame him for the genes you gave him!"
The thick tension between the two of you is almost unbearable. "Don't say her name, [Y/N]. I have enough of you trying to educate my children", apparently the Assassin forgot what you did the six years he were in India. "Cecily is dead. Just like Duncan. But the difference between us is that I never had the chance to mourn his death! I raised the twins. Not your children! Not mine! Because you can't claim them like they are a prize!", it might be cold to say those words, but they are the ugly truth.
"But they are my blood and flesh! Maybe there was a reason nature forbid you to have children", Ethan wraps his large hand around your throat to push you against the brick wall forcefully. Yes, your fights get always heated, but your old friend never hurt you physically. Right in time George enters the room alerted by your yells. He tears Ethan away from you rather roughly.
In the meantime, Evie holds back Jacob from saving you himself. She finds it unfair that you get all her father's anger, but he is right that Jacob is indeed reckless and could compromise the Brotherhood. She loves you, but there is just so much distance between you and her.
In contrast to his sister, Jacob still loves you dearly. No one is allowed to hurt you – his mother. You build up his self esteem, when Father scolds him. You encourage him, when he fails. You believe in him, when he couldn't see his potential. You are his everything.
"I have business to do in London", Ethan is shocked about his own behavior towards you – the only person in his life who tried to help since you know him. And still no apology comes over lips as he leaves the room. A deep sigh escapes your mouth. You almost can feel how you age. Tiredness overcomes you now and then. Three and a half decades old and you already feel like a grandmother.
The twins are fifteen years old. How many more years can you deal with Ethan? Every fight is nerve-racking. "Mom!", Jacob escaped Evie's iron grip and wraps himself up in your arms. She stayed behind looking at you from afar. "Everything is alright, Duckling", you are going to keep fighting for the twins. No matter the cost.
The friendship between you and Ethan were … complicated or better said non existent. The fight took everything good the two of you had. Due to all Ethan's journeys from London to Crawley and the trouble back home his immune system got wrecked. In spite of your bad relationship, you took care of him, when a pretty bad flu brought him to his knees. Since you nursed both twins and George back to health everytime they got sick, you had faith in your skills.
In the meantime, George trained Jacob and Evie for their first assassination.
"Yes, that's correct. Now to the right", you hear George yelling orders at the twins. You put a cold cloth on Ethan's forehead to cool his fever down. "They are doing so great. I'm pretty sure, Jacob and Evie will take back London", the old Frye mumbles under his breath starring with his tired eyes at the ceiling, "Thanks to you."
When the Master Assassin is sick, he usually gets emotional too. So who knows if he means his words or not. "I am truly sorry for the terrible things I said to you", Ethan rolls his head to his right side looking at you. True honesty can be seen in them.
Sighing you hit his fingers playfully as he tries to sneak the cloth from his forehead. "Don't talk like you are dying. It's just a damn cold, Frye", you reply still accepting his apology. It is never too late to revive an old friendship. The two of you have been through too much to let go of each other that easily.
"But then I could see my Cecily again", it would be a wish of his.
Even after nursing Ethan back to health, his end was near. The flu was just the beginning of it. The skilled Master Assassin was trapped in his own body. He got weaker from day to day and nothing could save him. In 1868 Ethan Frye died of pleurisy.
Your sixth sense tells you that it comes to an end, finally. The last few weeks were a torture for Ethan due to his sickness. George watches over him, while you take care of Jacob and Evie in the kitchen. They are grown up now, and still the male twin finds his way in your arms.
A tight but lovely hug from you is still the most comforting thing he knows. The ice cold silence is heavy and you could almost drown in it. "It's okay, my dear", you whisper in Jacob's ear. The words sound dull, but you couldn't think of something better.
Evie on the other side of the table looks at her gloved hands. There is still this distance. She would give everything to get a hug – even a simple one. Just to know someone is here to hold you. But after everything the female Assassin has done to you, she doesn't dare to ask for her wish.
Since Evie can remember, she pushed you away. Stopped calling you Mama. Bonded with her Father, when you just fought for equal rights for both twins. Yes, she loves you dearly wants you as her mother, but it way too late for that, right?
You can clearly see the war she wages behind her poker face. Freeing one of your arms you offer her a spot right next to Jacob, "Want to join?" Without hesitation Evie gets up to rush into the safety of your tight embrace. And the distance is gone. Defeated by pure and true love.
George enters the room, but the twins don't raise their heads. The Assassin nods his head to answer your unspoken question. Ethan Frye is dead. Tears wet your shoulders from both sides. "It's okay. I'm here", you comfort the twins holding back your own tears from falling. They need your full support now.
The funeral was small like it's supposed to be for Assassins. Your old friend's wish got true finally. But the work weren't done back then. Jacob and Evie were ready for their first assassination. George and you watched over them as they planned everything. Well, Evie planned. Jacob made his way up as he went.
And still you almost exploded of proudness as you wished them good look for their mission. The twins succeeded … with slight complications. An exploded lab and a derailed train. No matter what the Council said, you knew back then, they were ready for London. Freeing future generations from a city ruled by Templars. Your mission years ago you didn't went on due to the birth of Jacob and Evie. So you sent them to do what you never accomplished.
Your heart skips a beat as you see the two grown up twins.
Evie looks like her mother Cecily. The same confidence and eagerness. You could get lost in her green-bluish eyes. And you love the way he wears her dark hair in a braid. Efficiently in a fight and beautiful at the same time. She is worthy of the Assassin's robe and title.
Jacob comes after his father Ethan, but he developed his own style. Even if you sewed his clothes back together a dozen times, the look suits him. The flat cap tames his dark brown locks. Not to forget his handsome beard. His pushed self-esteem is just show. You know that after all these years. He is also worthy of the Assassin's robe and title.
"An exploded lab. A derailed train. Trifles! You did a good job. Both of you", you press a kiss on each on their cheeks. Jacob escapes your grip smiling, "Not in public, Mom." Evie rolls her eyes annoyed, but she loves your display of affection anyway. "What about London?", you knew they would ask one day. George looks at you for a brief moment.
"It has been in the domain of the Templars for the last 100 years. They are far to strong yet. Patience", the Assassin explains knowing his words will push the right buttons. "The Templars found a new Piece of Eden", Evie is not often the same opinion as her brother. "The Council shall guide us. Sound advice that your father would have seconded. I shall see you back in Crawley-", with that George is gone.
"-when London is freed and you come visit us", you add to his last sentence. "Mom, you could come with us", Jacob suggests with glee in his deep brown eyes, but you decline his offer with a dismissive hand gesture.
"Don't be ridiculous. I'll stay here with George. This is your mission. Meet Henry Green - another Assassin to find some help. I know you can do it. I have faith in you to take back the city. London is waiting to be liberated", you hold back your tears once again.
"Father would have wanted us to listen-", you cut off Evie before she can end her sentence, "Darling, you could continue his legacy in London." The whistle of a train comes closer. "Alright, onward to London", Evie accepts her new mission gladly. You give both of them a hasty hug, "Be careful! I love you!"
"I'll write you, Mom. Love you too!", Jacob replies jumping into the carriage of the train. "Love you!", Evie follows her brother. And with that they are gone. "I'll miss them so much, George", you turn your back to the leaving train so the twins can't see your tears. "You still have me, [Y/N]", the Assassin replies with a melancholic smile on his lips.
Jacob kept his promise to write you a letter, when the time allowed it. To receive a written letter from the male Frye made your heart swell of pride. He always hated sitting down and writing a few lines, but for you he did it with pleasure. It was just one way to pay back the love you gave him.
Dear Mom,
I hope you and George are still well since my last letter. Greenie – I mean Henry Green – sends his regards. Do I want to know the story of how you met him? However, Evie is again a step closer to the Piece of Eden. More information you will get in her letter. I'm not going to write about that.
You will not believe it, but the Templars number is lowering, while the Rooks are thriving. My gang, where I am the leader. You always told me I will made it one day, but I hate to admit I had my doubts. I got myself a good looking top hat. I wish you could see me.
Maybe when we eliminated Starrick and London is free, you could come visit. I will show you all the pubs and fighting clubs, where I am the champion. We could scale the Big Ben together to see if you can do a Leap of Faith of the clock tower.
I miss and love you.
Your Jacob
And Evie also wrote you.
Aunt [Y/N],
I wish I could send you a bouquet of flowers. I learned a lot about the meanings of the different types of flowers. Henry Green has a special book. I could get lost in it for hours. I hope you and George are doing well, while we are on our mission.
I am so close to the Piece of Eden. I found a hint in the house of Edward Kenway, which led me to the Monument. There was the key for maybe a chest or house, where the Shroud can be found, but I lost the necklace during a fight with a Templar. Lucy Thorne.
I just have to find out where they key fits before her. Then I can plan an ambush to take the key back. Thanks to your training. So I got a lot of books to read and hints to decipher. I keep this letter short today until I have more time. I hope you do understand.
I miss you dearly. I love you.
Evie
Unfortunately, the Frye twins got a lot of enemies, while their mission to free London. Intelligent ones, who gathered information about Jacob, Evie and remaining family back in Crawley. The Templars intercepted two letters sent to you by the twins.
But also mad enemies, who were driven by revenge. These two types together created a plan to hurt the Fryes not physically but emotionally. Maxwell Roth were one. He saw his chance reading the sweet lines Jacob wrote you and took it. A whole army of Templars and Blighters were send to kidnap and bring you to the Alhambra Theatre, where Jacob were supposed to save you. Here is the beginning of the end.
"If you want your mother back safely, do your move, Jacob! But you better hurry up before she burns!", Roth yells as the Blighters spread a fire in the Theatre. You know that he underestimates Jacob, which will be his advantage. The smoke hurts in your already weakened lungs.
Jacob needs a second to process the fact you are in London... as a hostage. Anger starts to boil in his chest as he leaps from his elevated spot. He will fight of Starrick and a whole army of Templars to get you back. The fight with Roth should be short and easy, but the rage fogs his mind. He makes mistake only novices do.
Right in time you wiggle yourself free from the ropes to push Jacob aside. The knife is meant for the younger Assassin. It is a parental instinct to protect your little baby boy. "No!", the male Frye kills Roth and his men in record time, then rushes to your side. The stab wound is bad – life threatening bad. Jacob's finger hover an inch over the handle of the knife, but he can't pull it out of your side.
"Everything will be alright, Mom. Don't worry. I got you", he wraps you up in his arms to carry you outside the burning Theatre in bridal style. "I know, Duckling. Look at you", you stroke his cheek with your thumb leaving a bloody mark on his skin. Yes, you love the top hat on him.
Jacob stops the next carriage he sees, which is luckily one of the Rooks. "To the Train Hideout as fast as possible!", he order holding you in his arms the entire time. You are not going to die, because of the stupid mistake he made. If so, he deserves to die. "Mom, please. Stay with me. Keep your eyes open", the male Frye pats your cheek now and then. Your eyelids are just so heavy.
A single tear runs over his cheek. Pure fear has its cold claws around his heart clenching it together inch by inch. The carriage hasn't completely stopped as he jumps out with you to run towards the train. "Evie! Henry! A doctor! Please!", he yells through the wagons, while he lays you down on his sofa.
The two Assassins enter the carriage alerted by the pure desperation in Jacob's voice. Evie stares at you shocked not knowing what to do right now. There is so much blood everywhere. At least, the doctor has Henry's help tending your stab wound.
"That is your fault, Jacob. Perhaps you should have trust my judgment", the female Frye stares at Jacob, who tries to wipe off your blood on his hands. "Don't you think I'm already blaming myself?! Mom dies because of me and my stupidity!", he replies trying to hold back his tears. The Assassin will never forgive himself for that.
"But it's too late now! "Too much haste is to little speed", Jacob!", Evie only quotes people, when she is fuming. To see you hurt makes her mad – seriously mad. "Don't you quote Father on me!", that's the last thing he needs right now. "That's Plato. Father was right he never approved of your methods!", and she hit a nerve with her words. "Father is dead!"
"Enough! Both of you!", you stop the fight. Even if you lost a lot of blood, it didn't weaken your authority and voice. Jacob rushes to your side grabbing one of your hands, "I'm so sorry, Mom. She will live, right?" He looks at the doctor hoping for a miracle. Placing a kiss on his knuckles you catch his full attention, "My sweet Jacob, it's okay. I'm old", it's the sad truth.
"You are not going to die, please. We will find a way", Evie takes your free hand in hers. "Darling-", you cut yourself off due to a fight of coughs, "-I would have died anyways." Both twins squeeze your hand in desperation. "You are sick like Father", Evie puts the pieces together like detective.
Jacob presses his forehead against the back of your hand, "I'll bring you back home. To George." Evie nods in agreement, then sends the doctor to find a Rook carriage. Every minute counts now. "We got you, Mom. It's our turn now. Just stay awake, please", you give Jacob a slight smile. You will do your best. "Henry, you have grown up. Would you look after Jacob for me? And keep Evie safe", you know exactly what is going on between him and the female Assassin. The Indian men lowers his head in honor, "Of course, Misses [L/N]." He keeps you company a few minutes the twins need to organize your little journey back to Crawley. Your home. Where you were born and raised once. And where you want to take your last breath.
"Is that okay, Mom?", Jacob wants to know as he lays you inside the carriage. "One of you stay with me, please?", you are scared to be left alone. If you don't see one of the twins, you are sure the tiredness wins. You are holding on for their wish to bring you home.
"I'm right here", the male Frye holds you in his arms tightly but careful not to hurt you. "It was the other way around a few years ago. I held you all night, when you had a nightmare. I sung you to sleep. I told you stories. I-", you don’t even notice how your eyes close by themselves. "Mom, stay awake. Just for a little bit longer. I promise", Jacob wakes you almost all five minutes, when you stop talking.
It seems like a whole eternity until the three of you make it to Crawley. Jacob carries you into the house you have known for decades now. "[Y/N]", George exclaims shocked as he sees your pale face. It seems like he is cursed to see everyone he loves dies before him. He can't lose another friend and companion. Especially not you – the woman he loves since the first moment he saw you.
The male Frye lies you down in your bed, but not leaving your side. "Oh, George, Old friend. You will do great. I will miss you", you stroke his cheeks softly taking in his aged features. And still handsome after all these years. The Assassin kisses your pale forehead softly, "I will miss you, too." And with that he leaves giving the twins time to say goodbye.
"Have I ever told you how proud I am? How proud I am to met you two? Raise you? See what incredible Assassins you two became? God, I love you so much, duckling. And I love you so much, darling", you are not even sad or worried to leave them behind. The twins are capable of living their own lives.
"I love you, too, Moma. I can't tell you how honored I feel to had you as mother. I will miss you endlessly", Jacob doesn't care if someone sees his tears. You are his Mama! The one and only for him. "I am so sorry I never accepted you as my mother. I should have. You formed to the person I am today. The Assassin doing her job. Everything I needed I learned from you. Instead of thank you I hurt you. It's way too late to realize my stupid mistake. I love you, Mama", Evie presses her forehead against your hand not daring to look at you. It's the first and last time she calls you Mama.
"There is no need to apologize, darling. You two are all my pride. Everything I ever wish for in my entire life. You made me happy. Made my life perfect in every way ", your heart swells for the last time taking in their grown up features. You know the Grand Master Crawford Starrick has no chance against the unstoppable Frye twins. You have done your time on earth.
You might will not see how London gets freed from the Templars, but you will see Ethan and Cecily again. And Duncan also waits for you.
With a slight smile on your lips you closed your eyes and did your last breath in the presence of your loved ones. Evie was on your right side holding your hand. Jacob on your left side holding your other hand. George Westhouse heard every word from the door.
He will inform the Council of the Brotherhood later.
The Master Assassin [Y/F/N] [Y/L/N] - mother of Jacob and Evie Frye - died.
