She inches forward, trying to control herself, and sticks out a hand. He grasps it and his skin is warm, almost feverish, and Toni’s eyelids flutter.

“It’s nice to meet you, too. Natasha Antonia Stark. You—You can call me Toni.”

His smile is blinding and almost reminds her of the sun.

“Hi, Toni.”

my thoughts: I want to wrap steve up in a hug and protect him. He’s so sweet and careful and still just jumps to all the wrong conclusions. I also really loved how his abilities were highlighted.

my thoughts: I love this. The way that Steve and Tony just don’t communicate well is really highlighted, and how desperately they care for each other is so tender.

Open The Door—I'm not a fan of super fluffy stories and the only summary the author gave for this one is “Derek gives Stiles his jacket”, which doesn’t tell you much.  Stiles doesn't know what to make of Derek….he thought he had him pegged as a creepy stalker, but then he watched him murder his insane uncle, become an Alpha in his own right, build a pack from broken teenagers and move into an apartment in town—far from the abandoned subway car and demolished husk of the Hale house. Not to mention, Derek's transition from furious dislike and begrudging acceptance to something else that Stiles can't quite put a name to yet.  (And yes, Derek does give Stiles his jacket heading back from the woods one night, but it's to keep him from catching a chill and the gesture seems to open the possibility for much more).

I like the characterization of Stiles in this story, which I feel is a realistic portrayal of a teenage boy languishing in angst over his sexuality, his insecurities of not being good enough and remaining completely oblivious of how Derek returns his feelings.  I like the dynamics between Stiles and his father; the love and support he gives his son, the open communication and honesty he expects in return as he tries to protect Stiles and be a good father.  

I like the way Derek sees Stiles—that he's extraordinary, worth fighting for and a part of the pack....plus the way he acknowledges Stiles' feelings for him and doesn't mock him or push him away for having a crush.  He's quite mature about it and wants to be responsible due to Stiles' age—even if when the means telling him that starting a relationship isn't up for debate and sexual shenanigans aren't going to happen because he's still too young.  I like the slow buildup of sexual tension and chemistry, their open communication and dialog with each other, the natural progression of their relationship and the fact that Derek asks for permission from Stiles' father to date his son.

Wherever You Will Be (That's Where I'll Call Home) [The DomesticVerse] by gyzym 

[Arthur/Eames & minor Ariadne/Yusuf] Chances are you’ve probably already read most (if not all) of the stories in this series, but I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself if I didn’t include it. There are eight stories in this series, you don’t have to read them all to enjoy them individually, but I suggest you do. This series has some of my favourite characterizations. 

Presque Vu by rageprufrock 

“Or, "on the tip of the tongue." Arthur meets Mal first. He inherits Dom, after. Everything else is on him.”

[Arthur/Eames & Mal/Cobb] This story is nearly 70,000 words and it’s probably the closest thing we’ll ever get to an Inception prequel. It does a beautiful job of exploring Arthur’s relationship with Mal, Eames and Cobb. It also might as well be canon. Just a beautiful story.

[Arthur/Eames & minor Ariadne/Yusuf] One of my absolute favourites. Basically this is my favourite Inception fake relationship AU. Its got comedy, its got action, and frankly, this story has the very best Eames first name reveal.

[Arthur/Eames] A really fun story that has a unique take on Arthur’s character.

I’ve Got Nothing To Do Today But Smile (The Only Living Boy in New York) by gyzym

Arthur's a corporate lawyer, Eames owns the coffee shop across the street, and all good love stories start with a quadruple shot latte.

— If you haven’t read this fic you are seriously missing out. I think this may have been the first fic I ever read in this fandom and I was not let down at all! Their banter is perfect, Arthur’s anxiety is amazing. Just go read it!

Arthur is a damn good news anchor. The weatherman, Eames, is the thorn in his side.

— A weatherman and news anchor AU. What more could you ask for? This was so lovely watching Arthur and Eames come together. Perfection!

Trouble With Dreams by sparkledark

College AU in which Arthur is a cranky senior and Eames is a professor of Dream Psychology.

— I know, I know. Age difference can be a big thing for a lot of people but I promise you, this fic is hot and amazing and will blow your mind!

In Our Line of Work by enjambament

Arthur wakes up and realizes the last ten years of his life have been a dream. He is nineteen, and he can barely remember where he is. What he can remember is the ghost of Eames’ hands pressed down on his chest trying frantically to stop the blood flooding up around his fingers as Arthur died (as he woke up).

— Angst! This fic is devastatingly beautiful. I know, it sounds like it’ll tear your heart out (and it kind of will) but I promise you are going to love it! It’s worth every tear you shed.

Holiday in Handcuffs by teacuphuman

A barista (Arthur) kidnaps a customer (Eames) and forces him to pretend to be his boyfriend over Christmas with his parents.

— This is by far one of my favourite fake relationship fics out there. Arthur is such a shit and Eames somehow goes with it. It’s hot and a little angsty but it’s perfect! Also, just read everything teacup has ever written. She’s perfect and it’s all amazing.

Late Night Phone Call by sparkledark

Arthur usually finds blatant fishing for compliments extremely irritating, but in Eames’ case he is reluctantly charmed. In fact, he writes the phrase “reluctantly charmed” into the Eames notebook the moment the words occur to him because they so perfectly encapsulate his entire situation.

— Sparkledark is an amazing writer! You’ll notice two fics in here because they have to be talked about separately. This fic is honestly AMAZING. Arthur works at a sleep help hotline place and Eames calls. I don’t want to give away too much but it’s hot and I keep going back to it. I can’t get enough.

Chav!verse by delires

Disturbing London, baby, we about to branch out. (The one where Eames is a chav)

— This is fucking amazing! Excuse my language but if you haven’t read chav!Eames, you are seriously missing out. It is fucking aces, if you need Urban Dictionary to help understand anything he says in the fic. It’s worth it.

For A Good Time, Call by oceaxe

Arthur is uptight and can’t sleep. A colleague gives him the number of someone who can help him laugh and relax (spoiler alert, it’s Eames).

— This fic hurts and it destroyed me but every word is worth it.

But can he trust the unhinged, hunter of men sitting across from him in the interrogation room or has Eames bitten off more than he can chew with this one?

—If I could reread this fic like it was the first time, I would. I love it that much. It might not be to everyone’s taste, but it’s not graphic or anything.
